content warnings: parent death, cancer
Jin was raised in a single parent household in Canada by his mother, Areum. The couple had moved to Canada from South Korea to start a family after Dong-Jin, his father, took an opportunity to transfer to his employer’s Canadian branch in Toronto. A year and a half later, Areum was pregnant. Jin’s father would tragically pass away from undetected brain cancer just 8 months after learning his wife was pregnant. His mother would bring him into the world by herself, but would use part of her husband’s name for Jin to honour her son’s deceased father.
His upbringing was loving, but still firm. His mother wanted to instill her son with a sense of resilience and responsibility so that he could be independent and care for himself when she was no longer there to do so for him. To make ends meet his mother worked multiple jobs, leaving her son home alone as soon as he was capable of caring for himself for a few hours at a time. With nobody else to help around the house, as Jin got older he took on more responsibilities within their household. Schedules were important to the regular functioning of their little family.
With his mother’s multiple jobs, Jin’s school, and various household chores that littered the day were carefully managed to keep them from disaster. Although she never told Jin exactly how dire their financial position was at times, he did pick up on it as he aged and adopted his own coping strategies to deal with the sense that there were grand, important parts of his life he had no agency over.
As he grew into his adolescence, he became more introspective. His internal self discovery of his identity as a gay person occupied a lot of his mental space, among all of the other kinds of self discoveries of teenagedom both trivial and fundamental. He became more observant of others at this stage in his life as well, looking for signs of how he should behave to find acceptance and in some way looking for signs that he was not the only one who felt alienated from their peers. He wanted to be more social with his peers, more adventurous, but denied himself anything he felt might carry too much risk of rejection. He spent his time working on his studies and his chores at home, using the little bits of free time he had to read all sorts of books, both fiction and nonfiction alike. It was a way for him to feel more worldly without even having to leave the apartment or face the potential for social rejection.
At 18 he took out whatever loans he could get to fund a decent enough community college education. He took what sounded likely to land him a job that wouldn’t require hard labour: accounting and payroll administration. Within two years he graduated with a moderate amount of debt to show for it, and hit the job market and life after school for the first time. After a handful of menial part time jobs, he got a full time job working in the accounting department of a local franchise for a multinational company. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was a significant step in the right direction.
With young adulthood came a slight sense of freedom that he had not yet felt. He still felt a need for structure and organization, but also longed to break free of the rigidity of his usual lifestyle. He began to socialize more and found that he could actually be charming if he tried. He took these risks in very calculated ways, however, and began to further separate aspects of his life and personality from each other. He became quite skilled at being different things to different people when he felt he had to be. This allowed him to be a student, a worker, a son, a lover, and a friend among others but seemingly on their own and never intertwined.
Compartmentalizing his various social roles also allowed him to be far more outgoing in certain contexts, almost as if he could be a different person making up from time he felt he lost in his teen years. This emboldened him to engage in more sexually adventurous behaviour, a habit that he found himself becoming more comfortable with as he moved through his early twenties and into a more stable form of young adulthood. This allowed him to satiate his desire for closeness and affection in short, contained bursts rather than through developing close, long term relationships and dealing with the emotional ups and downs of long term intimacy.
As his debt began to increase and his salary stayed stagnant, he grew antsy. Climbing the corporate ladder seemed to be the way to go, but that would take time he didn’t think he had, and it wasn’t guaranteed either. It didn’t seem fair to him that a company making millions could pay their employees such meager wages. Would they really miss a few dollars here and there? Would it really be stealing if the target could afford to lose what was taken? It seemed like a reasonable solution to his problems; skim a little off the top, slowly put it away to avoid suspicion, cover up his tracks and leave for another job before anyone could put the pieces together. It was a good plan. The best option. This time he had to project the persona of a diligent, trustworthy worker. If he could keep other secrets from his own mother, he could keep this to himself at work. The first successful siphoning of cash was exhilarating. His career as a white collar criminal had officially begun.
“FUNNY, THAT NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD, THERE’S ALWAYS SOMEONE EAGER TO HELP YOU DESTROY YOURSELF.” — DISCO BLOODBATH BY JAMES ST. JAMES

The Twin Jades
dude sometimes I just come across such bad meta. it's even worse if it starts off good and turns bad.
Good Meta Points:
• The Lans really love younger child Wangji (no pets allowed, but wangji can have them. Wangji wants lotus pod seeds and gets them etc.)
• Instead of giving agency to his actions and thoughts, they think he's being influenced or corrupted by others to act in such ways (especially Lan Qiren.)
Bad Meta Points
• Lan Wangji is spoilt, similar to Nie Huaisang or Jin Zixuan.
• Gets the lowest punishment at all times (pfft.)
• "I get it you waited 13 years but you fucked off into the sunset with your husband leaving your emotionally unstable brother and duties"
• "Good to see people talking about Lan Wangji's flaws" - mentions him being spoilt and demanding instead of his actual flaws.
Like... you cannot seriously point out how he gets to have rabbits as a point of him being spoilt. Lan Wangji has made like one error in his life in his studies. He's assigned himself punishment for stuff that wasn't even done by will (coughs, wwx). He's made his decisions and lived with the consequences.
Despite what you say, Lan Xichen isn't a terrible brother to Wangji. Neither is Lan Wangji a selfish brother.
Sibling relationships are complex, and between two individuals with their own set of values. Lan Wangji is totally righteous, even more than Nie Mingjue. He can't stand exaggerated, political loopholes and unrighteous acts. He does what he can do, working on the ground level.
Lan Xichen isn't Lan Wangji. He knows the world is filled with corrupted people, and challenging each and every one of them would lead to your own devastation (read: Wei Wuxian's biography). Thus, he tries extending his sympathy to all, and draws conclusions that allow the least possible damage. He does think Lan Wangji made a dire mistake with Wei Wuxian, because if not, he will have to face the fact that the world punished his brother for his righteousness and it would shatter his whole foundation (like it does).
But despite that, both of them share similarities. They both want the better of the world. Lan Wangji is brave enough to challenge the whole foundation of the cultivation world. Lan Xichen is brave enough to lay down peace even when it's so painfully obvious there's no option of it.
Lan Wangji trusts his brother enough to bring Wei Wuxian back to Cloud Recesses after getting stabbed at Jin Tower. Lan Xichen lives up to this trust and helps them investigate the matter. Lan Wangji even assures Wei Wuxian that his brother would not stand for Jin Guangyao if his crimes were true.
See, you don't have to completely have the same sort of sets of beliefs to be siblings. Sibling relationships are complex. Both these brothers know each other, their strengths and their weaknesses well. They may be exasperated at each other's insistence, yet they are well aware that they both have to walk their own paths.
Lan Xichen could never take away Lan Wangji's pain or fix him. Neither can Lan Wangji fix Lan Xichen.
But both of them will always have each other's backs. They are each other's families. Each other's brothers for life.
But at the same time, they have each their own paths to walk. People need to understand that it's not about a lack of sense of responsibility on Lan Wangji's side, but the realization that if he went back home, he may lose Wei Wuxian again. His uncle wants to take him back, lecture him and lock him into seclusion. His uncle wouldn't accept his proposal to be married to Wei Wuxian.
He doesn't give his uncle the chance to "accept" or not.
And he literally returns three months later.
I can't help but feel that those who say he was selfish do not have siblings. Or have bad sibling relationships. I'd say Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen have a perfectly good relationship if despite their differences, their terrible parentage, their opposing personalities, the roles they both played in each other's life (with Lan Xichen being sworn brothers to Jin Guangyao who played a major role in Wei Wuxian's fall, and Lan Wangji being Wei Wuxian's husband, who in turn, set the case back onto Jin Guangyao, thus hurting Lan Xichen), the things they couldn't help each other out of, but yet, they do trust each other and love each other.
And I trust that Lan Xichen will one day figure stuff out. There's a lyric in this MDZS song called unfettered. It is like:
The past is akin to dew in the morning. Even if it can be comprehended, it lays under layers and layers of fog.
In the end, hatred, love, resentment, debts and regrets all come to pass.
Just like how Lan Wangji is not his father, Lan Xichen will also not be his father. I don't think both of them had hurtful intentions towards the other at any point.
It's not like "Yunmeng bros" where JC intentionally wishes to cause pain to Wei Wuxian. It's not like the Nie bros, where NMJ has to be super over-protective of Huaisang.
It's just two siblings with their own lives choosing to be with each other, in happiness and in grief (mostly in grief uhm) in a terrible world where the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I read your tweet on how Wei Ying’s Guidao is orthodox cultivation based on real Guidao and that it’s descended from Bashu witchcraft. I’m very interested in that. Can you elaborate on it? What parts of WWX’s Guidao are based on real-life folklore? I’ve also seen people talk about how his cultivation is bad because it locks souls in their dead bodies. That doesn’t sound too credible to me, but I don’t know enough to be sure.
Hmm… I’m not sure what you want me to elaborate on exactly. It’s a lot of materials to cover. Dry materials at that.
In any case, Guidao 鬼道 (Path of the Dead, Ghost Path) is a real-life orthodox cultivation. WWX’s Ghost Path, aside from sharing the name, has two main aspects that draw directly from real-life basis: 1/ the summoning, nurturing, and utilizing of ghosts or wraiths (in the novel, those would be the ghost lady and the ghost child that killed Wang Lingjiao and Wen Zhuliu. In the Donghua, they are represented as ghost brides), and 2/ commanding fierce corpses.
These two aspects are drawn from two different sources.
I. Maoshan Sect’s Guidao:
As I mentioned in the tweet, the ghost path belongs to one of the three main fulu orthodox schools of Daoism: the Maoshan Sect (the other two being Quanzhen and Zhengyi)
The earliest mentions of Ghost Path are in Han and Jin history records as well as the Three Kingdoms: Zhang Lu biography texts. These texts talk of a Daoist named Zhang Lingzhi, whose Daoism is called Guidao 鬼道. Zhang Lingzhi taught the people the way of ghosts and dao and raised an army. His soldiers and generals were called ghost soldiers and ghost generals. Zhang Lingzhi’s Daoism was itself descended from Bashu ethnic group witchcraft. Zhang Lingzhi founded the 天师道 Tianshidao School.
(Citation: Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences - “巴蜀的“鬼道”如何变成了道教?” - How did Bashu’s ghost path become Taoism? http://www.sass.cn/912/default.aspx If you want to dig deeper, you can contact the academy directly for their research paper.)
Tianshidao School underwent several name changes over the year. To this day, they are known under the name (or descended, as some would say) Maoshan Sect in Jiangsu Province.
Maoshan sect has four major specialties: talisman, array, sorcery, and the nurturing of ghost familiars. After the cultural revolution, Maoshan sect lost a lot of its scriptures and relics. But it has been around for literally thousands of years. So there are still things there. It’s not the titan it used to be, but it’s still very much a cultural icon. There are numerous movies, books, and games that draw from Maoshan history and legends. One of them happens to be a movie cited as MXTX’s inspiration for aspects of MDZS in the recent Subaru magazine.
Tumblr media
(Mr. Vampire, the movie cited in Subaru magazine features the adventure of a Maoshan Daoist)
II. Tujia 土家族 ethnic group’s stiff corpse driving sorcery - Hunan:
The other aspect of WWX’s ghost path: the commanding of dead corpses by a warlock. In the same Subaru interview, MXTX also talked of folk legends of Jiangshi (stiff corpse, or commonly translated as Chinese hopping vampire) serving as the basis for her fierce corpse, ranging from things like general abilities, toxicity, and tricks like using rice gruel to cure their poison.
Jiangshi has been around since the Ming dynasty, but tales of warlock with the ability to command them originate from the Tujia ethnic group in Hunan.
A jiangshi warlock process the corpses, plaster them with paper talismans to restrain their ferocity, tie them in a row, and leads them using a bell that the warlock continuously rings.
Tumblr media
(Hoppy hoppy! It's edgiest conga train!)
Well, I don’t think I need to point out the similarity between the real-life Tujia warlock and WWX’s corpse commanding ability.
This specific sorcery was created in a time of war, when young men died in far-off lands. Their families, wanting to bury them in their home soil, would pay a warlock to go fetch their corpses and walk these corpses all the way back to their home province.
These legends might seem very fantastic but the corpse walking part is a very real job that still existed until the last 50 years. It’s featured in Liao Yiwu’s real-life journalism record “The Corpse Walker”
Tumblr media
(It's a really thrilling read. I got the physical copy over 13 years ago while I was in my last year at university. I recommend it.)
III. How does Tujia warlock (and WWX) supposedly command corpses?
Regarding the whole, did WWX lock people’s souls inside their dead bodies. Uh…. I don’t think so.
Why?
Because Chinese beliefs about souls are different from Western beliefs. In Chinese lore, a person has three souls and seven spirits (三魂七魄). The three souls represent the positive aspects of a person, with one soul literally being a divine spark. The seven spirits represent earthly taints and degradations and are bound to the body. When a person dies, the three souls will go to the heavens, the next life, and the underworld, respectively. The seven spirits, on the other hand, dissipate after death after 49 days.
This belief is shared in other Sinosphere nations as well and is featured in other media franchises. If you read Inuyasha, you will remember the Jewel of Four Souls and the Four Souls concept being a close relative to three souls seven spirits. In Vietnam, there is folklore of Ba Hồn Bảy Vía and rituals on how to call a person's soul home.
It’s these seven spirits that create Jiangshi. If the spirits do not completely dissipate, the corpse turns into a Jiangshi, a literal life vampire that has only the worst aspect of the dead person and who is forever hungering for life energy. It is these seven spirits that a Tujia warlock (and WWX) controls.
When you have this context, you can put the creation of Wen Ning in a different perspective, and why is it that it's such a big deal he retains his consciousness as a corpse.

Famous Buddhist Monks of Ancient Korea
Throughout ancient Korea's history Buddhist monks were a particularly important element of state and religious affairs. From the 4th century CE onwards, in the Three Kingdoms period, they were members of a select section of society which travelled and studied abroad, especially in China. Consequently, they were largely responsible for transmitting elements of Chinese culture into Korea and spreading the religious ideas they had acquired from studying under the great Chinese masters. Some of these monks would be founders of important and long-lasting sects of Buddhism, and a few would gain special favour at the royal courts of Korea, especially in the Silla kingdom which would go on to rule the whole of the peninsula. As advisors to kings, they would influence the acceptance of Buddhism and its continuation as the official state religion, and as the country's main scholars, they would have an immeasurable influence on literature and developments in printing and architecture. Below are short biographies of some of the most important of these figures.
Marananta
Marananta (aka Malananda or Malananta) lived in the 4th century CE and was a monk of Indian or Serindian origin who is credited with introducing Buddhism into the Korean peninsula. He came from the Eastern Jin state and taught Buddhism in the Baekje (Paekche) kingdom from 384 CE.

Northern Wei Dynasty
<Lacquer Screen with Paintings of Colored Figures>
Unearthed from the tomb of Sima Jinlong (司馬金龍:Descendants of the Sima clan of the Jin Dynasty),Datong Museum, Datong, Shanxi, China.
It mainly depicts the stories of Emperor Shun(舜)'s observance of filial piety, the three mothers of the Zhou dynasty royal family, 鲁师春姜(Lu Shichunjiang married off his daughter and sent her to her husband's family three times, but was driven back to her parents' home three times), and 班姬辞辇. The story comes from "Biographies of Exemplary Women/列女传". "Biographies of Exemplary Women" is a book introducing the behavior of women in ancient China.
※鲁师春姜:When Lu Shichunjiang married off his daughter, he sent his daughter to her husband's family three times, and was driven back to her parents' home three times because her daughter often looked down on and insulted people in her husband's family.
※班姬辞辇:In order to be inseparable from Ban Jieyu(班婕妤) at all times, Emperor Cheng of the Han Dynasty specially ordered someone to build a larger chariot. However, when Emperor Cheng ordered her to travel with the chariot together, this was a great thing that the palace maids dreamed of, but unexpectedly, Ban Jieyu rejected. She tactfully said to Emperor Cheng: "Appreciating the paintings left in ancient times, a good kings are always accompanied by ministers, and only the kings of subjugated countries sit with their beloved concubines. If you want me to go in and out with you today, aren't you the same as the king who subjugated his country?”

Kwon’s martial arts foundation is rooted in the original Cobra Kai style, developed by Kim Sun-Yung and based on the traditional Korean art of Tang Soo Do. With extensive training in this style, Kwon has honed his skills over many years.
His fighting approach showcases advanced kicking techniques; mainly involving multiple combination kicks mid-air, advanced rotation kicks, or both, often demonstrated through impressive board-breaking displays. These powerful kicks are complemented by his defensive maneuvers, which create openings for devastating counterattacks. One of Kwon’s signature moves is the two-handed "Viper Chop," a technique he has refined within the Cobra Kai framework. His punches carry significant force, capable of momentarily incapacitating opponents.
In addition to his striking abilities, Kwon possesses remarkable agility and acrobatic skills, executing maneuvers not typically seen among other Cobra Kai students. His aggressive "no mercy" mindset, central to the Cobra Kai philosophy, further amplifies his danger as a fighter.
During his match against Do-Jin, Kwon effectively channels his pent-up anger, using his skills and awareness of Do-Jin's predictability to secure an easy victory. He also swiftly defeats two other students associated with Do-Jin.
When he fought Kenji Okumoto of the Okinawan Miyagi-Do and Axel Kovacevic, he angered better as the ladders are stronger fighter than him. Causes his fighting becomes more sloppy than before.
On during his final match against Kenji, they were fighting evenly. Kwon used all his rage on Kenji, but eventually he loss his anger. Causes to lose his touch.

Way off topic, but did anyone see when Jin said he has never been asked out on Run Jin? Also remember when he said the statue was his first kiss? Is this just adhering to company policy to give the illusion that pop stars don't date? Because I feel like sweet Jin may really not have dated. I don't quite get the same vibe from the other members. I will sadly be the first to buy a lurid tell all biography of the boys/men if/when it ever comes out!
If you had to guess members and their dating record what do you think they'd be?
RM long term guy, but never works out.
Yoongi forgets he has a girlfriend. They get frustrated but he has no time for that.
Hobi is engaged to an awesome woman with a background in psychology.
Jimin serial dater. Still finding his footing.
Hi anon! I find Jin really hard to get to know well. I feel as though he hides a huge part of himself behind his happy exterior. So I actually have no clue what to think about his comments about his possible dating life. I often read comments from army's saying they think Jin is definitely in a long term stable relationship, and maybe he is? But, theirs is a life that comes with difficulties when it comes to dating.. and not everyone is prone to date or want a relationship anyway, so it could also be that he hasn't. I think though, he would have definitely had the chance to date even if he weren't the one to ask someone out. I imagine there's plenty of people who would be bold enough to step upto Jin and ask him out.. and he could have easily accepted if he wanted to.
I think things are played up at times, and it has a kind of comedic effect when Jin says things like this. So I definitely think it's possible that it's not true.
I mostly keep my comments about BTS members dating life in general terms like... I'm sure some of them or all of them have at least dated or have had a serious relationship. It's a bit easier to talk about Tae and Jk, because we have actual interactions between them to make use of, but for the other members we do not get that. It feels as though Namjoon and Jimin got hurt when I go by their music, but much more than that I find hard to say.

Back in Ming dynasty, were all characters given some kind of backstory or is that a JTTW thing?
If you mean all the characters in the novel then yes most of the gods and even several demons were already established in Buddhist lore and Chinese folklore long before the novel and they make more cameo appearances within the books. Not all the demons were created before the book but there are certainly inspiration from real mythos in their creation. I do a little backstory for the demons here if you wanna check it out.
As for the main five that is a bit more tricky. Sanzang of course if based on Xuanzang the real-life Tang Monk.
The earliest mentions of Sun Wukong are from The Story of How Tripitaka of the Great Tang Procures the Scriptures in late-13th-century CE so that would be right in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. But of course, you could consider how Wukong is inspired by both Hanuman who rose around the second millennium CE and Wuzhiqi whose tale is around the Tang and Song Dynasty. Different monkeys for sure but he is inspired by these legends in his final creation.
Bajie was really made in the Zaju play early Ming dynasty (14 to 15th-century) where he was shown to be a demon in a similar form and part of the group. However, I had read that his inspiration go as far back as the Jin Dynasty. They say his origin may lie with the story "猪臂金铃" by Gan Bao in Jin Dynasty. Or that he was inspired by He Bo Feng Yi, because the prototype of Feng Yi is a pig. Wu Zimu's "Meng Liang Lu" mentioned that "Tianpeng" was originally a Taoist fairy official. Some people also think that the prototype of Zhu Bajie comes from Indian Buddhist scriptures, as Chen Yinke said. There is a portrait of "Pig Head Bodhisattva" in the Thousand Buddha Caves in Kizil, Xinjiang, excavated in the early Tang Dynasty. He is called "Marizhitian" in Buddhist scriptures.
As for Wujing he was actaully written in Xuanzang's historical biography from the 7th-century as a complacent water spirit. He was an established character even before Bajie and Wukong but receives the least amount of attention sadly enough. Some scholars believe that he might have been inspired from the image of the deep sand god of Esoteric Buddhism from "The Poetry of the Tripitaka of the Tang Dynasty" as Shensha. Shensha God exists as an authentic Buddhist god however, in the scriptures translated by Zhu Tanwulan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Shensha and Fuqiu existed as evil spirits, rather than Dharma protectors.
As for Bailong he was created for the novel itself but there is a long history of how heavenly horses and even dragons were before his creation. In the Zaju play Bailong was actually a Fire Dragon Horse. I have to thank @ryin-silverfish for this information that according to 西游故事跨文本研究 Bailong's origin could be traced to a tale about an actual horse in the aforementioned biography of Xuanzang. The unnamed skinny old horse was gifted to Xuanzang by an elderly foreign man, who was an experienced traveler of the western roads. Later, when Xuanzang had lost his way in the desert and was about to die of thirst, the horse took a different road of its own accord and saved the day by bringing him to an oasis. Because the said horse was red in color and why the Dragon Horse was often called a Fire Dragon Horse in later Baojuan and Zaju plays, and this was changed to white because of the keystone imagery in the legends of Buddhism's spread to China "white horse carrying the scriptures" (白马驮经).
Hope that helps!

LOVE ISLAND (THE GAME): CHARACTER PROFILE
just beaten litg: tempting fate, so thought it'd make a wee character biography for that specific season. (i've taken some liberties with islanders of my own making and some moments i've put in on my own).
BIOGRAPHY
full name : astrid / "ash"
location : edinburgh, now london
age : twenty-three
occupation : ex-playboy bunny, now event planner
relationship status (post villa) : still in winning coupling
ICONIC VILLA MOMENTS
astrid's vt intro showing her 'bedazzled saltire playboy bunny' suit.
bombshell entrance
sneaky kiss with jin in the corridor during breakfast
telling off sophie for being a shit-stirrer
getting luna dumped
'doing bits' with jin in the hideaway
being flirty with claudia during the challenge, kissing her during the challenge.
playfully shouting, "haul, dinnae you laugh at me!" at new bombshell arrival aiden, also, from edinburgh who'd asked her on a dinner date and she'd began to burn the chicken
her friendship with fellow scot, aiden and the girls look to her for advice on sussing him out
sleeping alone after jin's dumping, the night-vision camera catches her tearing up
snogging max in the casa challenge, then bea in the dressing room
being the first to find the infamous 'casa letter' from the main villa, seeing jin snogging sienna outside of a challenge but the camera initially only shows her reaction of a bitter, "oh you little shit.", followed by iain's vo comment, "hell hath no fury like a scots woman scorned."
"right well, he's just fucking lumped me in it. nevermind the fact he's back but he's having it on with another lassie? expecting me to sit here like the virgin-fucking-mary? that'll be right."
getting nippy with emel about max when she brings up jin
'doing bits' with max on the terrace in spite of jin
twisting with max, reuniting with jin for the first time and seeing him coupled up with casa girl, sienna. she's unable to keep save-face and the girls continue to exchange looks of confusion
her icy conversations with jin, pre and post movie night. reminiscent of wes and laura's final confrontation of the, "ah swear to fuck." / "don't fuckin' speak to me." because at the end of the day, she had to bring someone back
arguing with liam across the movie night tables over bea and her 'sling yer hook' comment
coming in as an angel-inspired playboy bunny for the 'racing hearts' challenge
confronting liam, this time in front of the boys in the bedroom (whilst the girls console bea) for embarrassing bea and making her cry (also the fact he's a just a prick in general and she's over it). pointing out that bea didn't have to bring him back and at the very least he should be considerate of that. arguably the villa's biggest bust-up. the argument continues until max is able to walk astrid out of the room, leading to their first tiff. the tabloids calling her "aggy ash."
pie-ing sienna and liam. she also pretends to go into snog jin, after he'd snogged her but quickly turns to aiden
her complete inability to hold a "poker-face" in any given moment. particularly when she hears the public are still stuck on her and jin as a couple
astrid, claudia, theo and oakley's ex's coming in as the final bombshells and max getting insecure about astrid's ex who's a 6'3" irish rugby player and clearly still into her
astrid and max continuously being touchy and the camera constantly cutting to them during group chats with either his head on her chest and astrid playing with his curls or astrid holding him from behind as he sits between her legs and her chin is perched shoulder shoulder, as the public being to warm to them
having sex with max in the hideaway
aiden and astrid teaching everyone ceilidh dances at the final party before the re-coupling / final dumping
jin and astrid's final goodbye after he's been dumped for good. he whispers, "i'm sorry." to her and she coldly responds, "i know."
max's reaction to her prom dress.
