spaus is great because even if you don't actively ship it you have to acknowledge that It Happened. they were Lawfully Wedded, legally bedded, papal dispensation signed, sealed, delivered! it's a matter of historical record in triplicate that antonio put a ring on it and that's exactly what roderich would want. infuriating little malewife.

Shell and Bone bookbinding (duo with author copy), June 2024.

Ficbinding of Shell and Bone by @polymathema, take two! As before, this bookbinding is meant to look like a horror movie prop, with deliberately ripped up covers and pages and fake bloodstains.

For the author copy I went about the staining a little differently and chose to use my typical bookbinding archival paper because I think it looks more grungy than standard white printer paper. I used different ink colors for the fake blood as well, and I think it looks more realistic. Yay!

Thought I'd share my first attempts at 3 piece bradel bindings seeing as they're the first books I've made in a long time. They're pretty wonky, I was trying to figure out the right measurements for the hinge on the fly and honestly I was a bit lazy with gluing the covers but they're not bad!

next stop on my bookbinding journey is the couple down the street by @godlizzza which was one of my greatest most fun reads ever. i wish it could have gone on forever

I'm not young anymore. Barely believe I ever was. Carefully crafted memories, designs of hoped-for love, joyful play, and considerate guidance. Page numbers, characters, angels and demons, my support and guiding light; my inspiration and discipline.

There were no carefree days, only imagined ones betwixt constant unknown and tribulation. The glimpse in between with wide-eyed smile and grand plans were worries, soul crushing solitude, emptiness, and fear. There was hunger, thirst, and rampant ridicule. There was watchfulness, learning how to hide while standing still in the midst, fitting in while standing out. Invisibility.

I had to earn my love and peace. Sometimes, I catch myself still yearning for some worry free moment of honest being with others. Long gone, further, and more fictional than any story I have ever read or coined. No longer feeling guilty for the days I did and do unwind. Stolen from the ever-present bar of perfected compliance, maliciously set too high.

Raised myself; chastised daily for being irresponsible. Raised my parents; deemed unaccountable. Moved heaven and earth; dubbed monster. Constantly seeing and hearing others with their friends, family, loved ones - I've only known shared blood and effort while shame and guilt - not mine to have- gets thrown in my face. It's hot and sticky and difficult to breathe. Given a tiara like Carrie. Warmth or titles elude, meaningless words. First born now, first gone.

Keep telling all stories the same no matter how much time and truth marr the tale. I'll keep writing my own tale with addendum and without them.

TBOI: Brother's Keeper AU - Azazel

Part 2 of my collection of...sketches. Here we focus on the kids. Playground fights, kickball, swingsets and such. Kid stuff, ya know.

Lazarus and Bethany discover Azazel sleeping in a cave and befriend the lil guy with oats and granola bars. Since they go to a very Christian academy, they can't be caught with a lil demon fella, so they bring him to Mr. Cain's hideout.

As it turns out, Cain knows the lil guy, but he hasn't seen him in 25 years. He thought Zaza was dead.
