The Survivor (Their full, scavenger-given name includes the 'The') was separated from their family while traveling between colonies and stranded in the dangerous unpopulated wilds. Against all odds they managed to survive (and wander) far longer than they should have been able, but rather than reconnecting with their (or another) slugcat family, they instead made contact with one of the many wandering scavenger troops- But unfortunately not one that had ever met a slugcat nor had any idea what to make of a stranded one. Regardless the group gave it their best, ended up committing to the role of slugparents, and The Survivor and their troop still consider themselves close family long after Survivor finally reconnected with their sibling. (They're a bit of a mess though, understandably)

Cars are several tons of metal moving at very high speeds, even though they're such a normal part of every day life they can be very dangerous or deadly when not used consciously. When you have several tons of metal moving at high speeds it makes it safer for everyone if we know which direction it's about to go, as being aware where the car is about to go reduces accidents and pedestrian/cyclist getting struck by cars.

Ok but imagine Katniss and Peeta learning to ride bikes together post-war. Katniss getting frustrated it isn't coming to her quickly, Peeta running beside her to help her balance. Peeta wobbling around, going slow, and Katniss getting worried when he falls over onto the ground, checking his hands for scrapes. And then the screams of joy when they finally get it down and ride around District 12 together. Peeta with a basket on his bike to store the groceries and Katniss putting a card Peeta made for her on the spoke of the wheel. And they always make sure the other has their helmet on, because they're not taking any risks with each other.

We are going to a folk festival with some friends (gross) and they want us to drive to their house and BIKE to the festival and I said "I am not a confident bike rider so only if there is a car-free path" and they said "there is! there's a bike lane the whole way on sheridan!"

EXCUSE ME a BIKE LANE on fucking SHERIDAN is not a car-free path!! I do not want to do this! I already have a stomach ache today!! I get that they "like biking" but guess what I don't. SORRY I will RUN there, none of the rest of them like to run and I don't judge them!!!

Ah but consider Marc as a wag in the WeC paddock where most of them are older than him so ticking his age kink, where people like Jenson are there so ticking his champion/competency kink and they tuck him under their arm so very easily. Someone might have allowed him to test a car or do a lap and now Marc's own competency milkshake brings all the drivers to the yard. Everyone is super fond. WEC weekends are basically Marc in a candy shop, a lovely little treat. Valentino drowns him in his number/clothing like a dog staking his claim.

the merch thing is so funny because like yeah it’s this nasty illicit sex claim slash possessive romantic gesture that they both enjoy as like. a sublimation of their egos into one another and a way to merge their legacies and souls. but in another very real sense they both think it is the funniest bit in the worlddddddd. stupid in joke with the public that is also a humblebrag. it would be like that time marc put on the vale hat for the italian reporters but this time it’s not tinged with the bitter sadness of the joke being GET IT BECAUSE HE HATES ME. instead it’s the smug joy of GET IT HE LOVES MEEE :D so he can walk around decked out booty shorts with THE DOCTOR on the ass and then joyfully post it eight times to instagram while everyone walking around the paddock feeds him flattering questions about his own sport AND he gets to brag about vale. maybe and genuinely the ideal scenario for marc as wag. i bet he wakes up from a dream exactly like that now and feels it in his TEETH he wants it so bad

Stuff I use regularly that's technically not a mobility aid but sure help me get places I otherwise wouldn't be able to

Bicycle - Fairly obvious one. Gets me to the shops fast without killing my legs like walking or driving would. I can even lean on it when I'm walking with it to still take weight off my questionable knees!

Noise cancelling headphones - Going out used to be a pain for the whole family because you can only spend so long out when you don't know where the next "safe" toilet is. The world opened up so much more to me when I no longer had to worry about extractor fans and hand dryers.

Long sleeved shirt/jacket - Contamination OCD freaking sucks but fortunately I've got it mild enough that if I cover my hand while touching stuff like buttons and door handles my brain doesn't go too crazy. So it's useful to have something with nice long sleeves I can retreat my hands into. I'd use gloves but they make my hands feel uncomfortable.

Bottle of hand sanitizer - Similar to the above one. Sometimes I'm having a bit of An Episode™ and everything is extra dirty or I dropped something on The Ground and can't just leave it somewhere until my brain forgets it's supposed to be toxic. Squirting a ton of gel onto the offending hand/object is a lot quicker and easier than retreating to the nearest bathroom to go clean it, and most of the time it's enough to keep The Thoughts at bay.

A solid pair of walking/military/safety boots - Combined with my arch supports, I can manage a bit more walking without totally killing my legs. I think it's the ankle support? With black leather military ones I can even wear them with formal wear under a long enough pair of trousers. They're not so fun when it's hot, but while I can function on a pair of trainers, walking boots are my usual everyday shoe. My latest pair even have hooks at the top instead of lace holes so I can either have them as slipon trainers with extra ankle if I'm going cycling or for a long car ride, or I can quickly lace them up all the way if I'm going walking. I was absolutely spoiled by a pair of leather safety boots I got a year or so ago. When they were new, I could walk to the morrisons on the other side of town and back and the only pain I had was from tying the laces too tight. Unfortunately the leather stretched and the boots got too big.

Not sure why I made this post, just wanted to ramble about it for a while. Feel free to add stuff!

Finally got to put the fresh stickers I got for my bike. Haven't taken this out to do anything big yet but now with these stickers I feel compelled to ride on a trail. Up the bike punx

it's been over a whole month since i had a stupid argument with my parents about driving, a skill that i legally possess but hate doing because i have a special brain illness that makes me fear death and injury, but i'm still chewing over an absurd claim that it's "equally dangerous to go on a 14 hour train ride like you just did". literally how is that more dangerous. in what way. in what world. public transport is nice and good and i like it and i don't have to enter my personal torment nexus
