I feel ya on the whole "falling out of love with the show" thing. When it first released, I LOVED Monkie Kid. Liked really loved it. I would talk about it all the time. But four seasons in, you could say I've been disillusioned. I don't hate the show or anything and still find enjoyment from it, but I'm just very much aware of it's shortcomings in terms of storytelling and characterizations (looking at you Wukong) and just see that there's much to be desired. When there's a hiatus, my feeling isn't "No, I'm upset it's over." My feelings have turned into "thank goodness because I need a break from this show." Kinda sad because I thought this show was the greatest, and it's not.

Initially, I thought going in a more narrative direction was the best decision the writers made. Now I can't help but question if sticking with the slice of life format would've been better, instead of trying (and kinda failing) to be this dramatic, angsty story. I think Season 2 had the best balance between the two formats.

Lol, I think I can sum it up by saying that I thought LMK would be ATLA level of great, and it's far from it.

bigh sigh but yeah anon. i found Monkie Kid so fun in its first few seasons because besides the neat characters and good animation most of the stories revolved around silly adventures and issues that could in fact be wrapped up in a pretty satisfying manner within 10 minutes. And oh yeah there was also that little detail of the Monkey King being presented as at least a somewhat competent mentor. So yeah need to note as usual that i lean towards pessimism but ugh you can only go through so many instances of Qi Xiaotian getting relentlessly traumatized & a significant amount of that trauma being the result of things SWK did or failed to do all while one character after another yells at the Monkey King for being a thoughtless jerk who ruins literally everything & all of that while the plot then repeatedly trips over itself to kind of confirm this sentiment before you go from "Oh boy! I can't wait to see what goofy fun times we'll have next!" to "Oh boy. I wonder how Qi Xiaotian's going to get traumatized and SWK's going to be made even worse. Again."

You had stepped onto the balcony of Wangshu Inn to meet Xiao, but found him speaking with Baizhu as Qiqi held his hand.

"Oh! Just in time! I've just assigned Xiao over here to babysit Qiqi."

Baizhu called out to you, his eyes sparkling with mischief as Xiao grumbled.

"She's my sister. I'd hardly call looking after her babysitting. If anything, you're the babysitter."

Xiao huffed as Baizhu ignored him and walked away, shoving you towards Xiao as he did.

"Big sibling is here. And big brother Xiao too. Now Qiqi is happy."

Qiqi said as Xiao caught you, wrapping her arms around you both in an attempt to hug you two.

"Of course, Qiqi! I love being around you!"

You said with a smile, shooting Xiao a look of gratitude for catching you as the group hug ended.

If you say you hate Qiqi just for her ruining your 50/50, this isn't about the 50/50. This is a big brother loving his little sister.

"Qiqi wants coconut milk."

Qiqi said, tugging on Xiao's sleeve before he picked her up to carry her.

"I've go it right here."

Xiao said, his tone gentle as he handed her the coconut milk from... a container or glass

Leave me alone, I don't go near coconuts.

"You two are such cute siblings."

You remarked as Xiao smiled gently at you.

"Well, Qiqi is important to me, and I adore her. It's only fair that I take care of my younger sister."

Xiao tells you as you both glance at Qiqi, who was silently drinking her coconut milk.

"Qiqi wants to go flower picking. Qiqi wants to give flowers to Bigh brother and big sibling."

Qiqi said, glancing at you and Xiao after drinking the coconut milk and getting down from Xiao's arms.

Eventually, after Xiao told you and Qiqi he would take you two flower picking, you arrived at a beautiful spot.

"I come here all the time to clear my mind."

Xiao tells you as he follows Qiqi to make sure she doesn't get hurt while picking flowers.

"It's beautiful."

You tell him with a smile before Qiqi hands you a Qingxing flower.

"Big brother Xiao says you are more beautiful than—"

Qiqi couldn't even finish before Xiao gently pat her head to divert her attention.

"Qiqi, let me know if you want more coconut milk."

He tells her, the tips of his ears as red as a Jueyun Chili along with his face.

As Qiqi goes back to flower picking, you bumped your shoulders against Xiao's.

"What was that~?"

You ask him in a teasing voice as he coughed, his face even redder as he avoided eye contact with you.

"You look like a puppy."

"What?"

"You're adorable."

With that, he placed a hand on one of your cheeks and leaned close, kissing your other cheek before going after Qiqi again.

You were now the Jueyun Chili.

Albedo

"Albedo, I'm he—"

You didn't even finish your sentence as you walked in on Albedo helping Klee to paint something.

You smiled as you saw them, leaning against the doorframe while crossing your arms.

"Oh, you're here."

Albedo said, looking at you with a fond look reserved for only you and Klee.

"Big sibling! Big brother is helping me to paint!"

Klee exclaimed with exclaimed with excitement as she rushed to hug you, dried paint smeared on her smock.

You chuckled as you hug her back, noticing the dried paint on her arms as well while Albedo was free of paint.

Almost.

He had some paint on his cheek.

"How did this happen?"

You ask, reaching over to wipe the red paint off his cheek.

Albedo looked at the paint before looking at Klee, who was trying to hold back a giggle.

"Take a guess."

Albedo said, half teasingly as he gently pinched Klee's nose, the girl letting out a laugh.

"Oh, Klee."

You say with a chuckle as you shake your head in amusement before glancing at their paintings.

Klee seemed to be painting Dodoco, herself, Albedo and you together.

Albedo had a painting of you and him together, holding Klee's hands as she stood between you two.

"Join us, my love. I'll help you if you need me to."

Albedo said, gently reaching to hold your hand before kissing the back of your hand.

Your face turning a shade of pink, you nodded with a smile as you saw Klee's hopeful smile.

"Of course. I could never disappoint Klee, and it would be nice to spend time with you two."

You say with a chuckle as you allow Klee to drag you over to the canvases.

Albedo then set out another canvas as he helped you start your painting.

Of course, all was going well until Klee started a paint fight

She made one of her bombs into a paint bomb and exploded paint everywhere.

Well, you two have a mess to clean up, but it somehow managed to make great art.

"Teucer, where—"

Childe was about to finish his question, running around before bumping into you

"Ugh. What's the issue?"

You ask him as he scrambled to get off you while you rubbed your head.

"Sorry, comrade. Teucer and I are playing hide and seek and I'm trying to find him before he gets hurt."

Childe told you, laughing nervously as he helped you up, inspecting you for injuries caused by him

"Teucer snuck here again?"

You ask him with a soft sigh, yet a gentle smile made itself onto your face.

"Yup. At least I'm on a leave."

Childe let out an exasperated sigh as he rubbed his face, starting to walk with you.

"Well, I'll help you find him before he gets hurt."

You tell him, noticing a destroyed Ruin Guard, no doubt destroyed by Childe before Teucer came.

"Thank you, comrade. Greatly appreciated."

Childe said with a grin as he gently ruffles your hair, ignoring the groan that slipped passed your lips.

"Of c—"

Now you were the one who couldn't finish your sentence as Teucer gave himself away.

"Ajax's significant other!"

Teucer exclaimed with excitement as he quickly hugged you, Childe looking offended.

"Come here you little rascal."

Childe told Teucer, trying to grab the kid before he ran off once again, starting a game of tag.

"Teucer!"

You and Childe yelled in sync, seeing the boy almost slip and hurt himself.

Luckily he caught himself and kept running

"Let's go."

You say with a sigh as you both sprinted after Childe, you struggling to keep up.

"So slow. Let me help."

Childe said, carrying you bridal style as he continued to chase Teucer.

Eventually you did catch him before he got too far, as he ran out of breath.

Childe set you down, and you Childe and Teucer just watched the clouds after that.

Until Teucer asked something to make you two blush.

"When's the wedding?"

You see, school is opening soon, and I go to a dormitory school where we can't bring our gadgets there. And obviously, i cant be online and to make matters worse because of the pandemic, im still unsure of the schedule for my holidays, so I can't guarantee anything.

Im very sorry, but i may need to go on a long hiatus, a month at best. Even if i can go home and be online, the holidays are pretty short so it's not as if i can be so active anyway.

Im happy that during quarantine, i was able to make lots of friends here and be so active and make lots of content that im actually proud of! Hope y'all don't forget me while im away. «come on, it'll be fun.» colby smiled before getting in the driver seat.

you crashed down on the passenger seat before letting out a big sigh and buckeling your seat belt.

lately colby had been insisting on introducing you to his friends. you knew who all of them were, and they knew who you were as well, but today you weren't particularly excited to meet them. at least not everybody at the same time.

even though you had been keeping track of everything you had been eating and how you were working out every now and then, you were bound to slip out at some point, and that was exactly what you had done the day prior. so, today you weren't feeling you best.

as usual your go to outfit of choice on days like these were high waisted skinny jeans and colby's xplr - hoodie. the tighter the jeans, the better. that way they'd cancel out your bloatiness, and with the oversized hoodie it worked wonders. it just felt safe. in times like these there were no such thing as wearing tight fitting clothes.

you stepped out of colby's car with a bigh sigh escaping your mouth, after he pulled up in the driveway to the trap house.

«are you nervous?» colby asked, placing his hand on the small of your back.

you gave him a half heartedly smile and shook your head. «not nervous.. i'm just not that excited- why couldn't we've done this another day? today's not my prettiest day, colby.» you whined.

he placed a small kiss on your forhead and smiled. «you're literally perfect, so shut up and get in there.» he chuckled and opened the big doors to the house.

«hellooooo!!» colby yelled in a goofy voice. three even goofier voices replied loudly, coming from the livingroom and the kitchen. «haaaaii, brother!!»

«guys, y/n is here!» colby cheered as he hung his car key up on the wall and grabbed your hand.

he pulled you in the direction of the kitchen. your eyes first landed on corey's who was leaning over the kitchen counter, chatting with aaron.

you smiled politely as aaron walked up to you, reaching his hand out for you to shake it. «aaron. nice to meet you.» he bowed.

«this is corey and devyn.» colby said, pointing his hand towards the couple.

you smiled and greeted them. «hi, i'm y/n.»

«wow, i love your hair! you're so pretty!» devyn complimented. you felt your cheeks instantly blush as you put your palms to your face, smiling into them and thanking her.

shortly after making small talk in the kitchen, sam and kristina entered the room, curious as to what was going on.

colby took a big gulp of water and swallowed hard, almost choking on his water. «you know sam.» he said, motioning towards sam.

«hey, y/n. good to see ya.» sam smiled and opened his arms to give you a big hug.

you had met sam before on multiple occasions. after all, he was your boyfriends best friend, and one half of the sam & colby channel, so you had spent some time around him before.

«katrina, meet y/n.» sam politely said to katrina.

katrina gave you a quick look up an down, no certain emotion in her face as she greeted you. her hand lightly shook yours as she introduced herself quickly. «katrina.»

you raised your eyebrows and took that as a cue to step back to your boyfriend.

everybody in the house had planned on going to the movie theatre as a group, since everybody had done their filming for the day.

«so, about that movie?» corey said, «are we going?».

colby turned to look at you, eyebrows raised as he shrugged, looking for an answer as he looked at you.

«sure, sounds fun!» you cheered.

«cool.» colby smiled, «can we ride with you and katrina? that way we don't have to take another car when you already have room.» he asked sam as he rested his arm on sam's shoulder.

sam chuckled. «of course. that okay with you, kat?»

you looked at katrina standing on the opposite from you. her hand was resting on her hip as she was fiercefully chewing her gum. she rolled her eyes and sighed. «whatever.» she said, tapping her foot on the ground.

you gave colby a confused look before heading to the hallway to grab your shoes and jackets. colby lightly grabbed your wrist pulling you to the side. «don't worry about her. she doesn't like competition.» he chuckled.

you jokingly scoffed in return, hitting his shoulder with yours as you rolled your eyes. colby grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers, pulling you with him out the door.

In a swift moment, Noctis shoves some cheese covered chili fries into Prompto's mouth while it's open. He even makes sure that they don't fall out or go too far by sliding his fingers into his chocobro's mouth. He presses his fingers down on Prompto's tongue as well, whispering. "More?"

“Awll bigh or fingaws.” Prompto’s words come out awkwardly with all the fries in his mouth, but he gets out the warning nonetheless. He pulls Noctis’ hand out of his mouth and happily eats the fries. “Those tasted really good! Thanks Noct! Could’ve gone without the nearly suffocating on your fingers though.”
