An ambush. Not even she had noticed them, and usually she was quite perceptive. Flanked from all direction. Magic users and fighters alike. Ten against four seemed terrible odds. Something inside her stirred, and suddenly, she was not herself. Colette was a whirlwind of viscera and carnage. Something within her own blood stirred to life, and it twisted her gut. It reminded her of the horrible thoughts she had tried to block out for weeks now.

The fight was over, in a flash. The smell of arcane burning lingered in the air. She was vaguely aware of the pain that she felt in her arm and side, a split lip and a bruised jaw aching slightly. But she still wasn't herself. Like that of an aura about her, the rogue stood and stared blankly at the mess before them. Rip. Shred. Kill. Kill. K-

His hands were upon her cheeks, and had she not realized it was him, her blade could've sunk into his belly in the next few moments. Instead, her blades dropped with loud thuds.

"Solomon-" her voice is barely a whisper. In that moment, she realized how hard she was breathing, how her body quaked with adrenaline. The taste of blood coming from her own mouth as she realizes she's bitten down on her tongue at some point during the fight. Thoughts were becoming her own again, switching from the murderous intentions of the darkness in her soul to that of the person she was trying to be.

Her hands reach up and softly lay atop his, her gaze meeting his as she further solidifies everything around them. Karlach was cackling about the job while Gale spoke on about some anecdote that would relate to some event in his life so far.

"...I'm good..." Colette squeezes his hands softly, though probably not very convincing to most, there is a wave of exhaustion that comes over her and she can feel the adrenaline crash as her blood cools. The urges are quiet again, and for a sickening reason, the woman feels sated. It felt awful. Her hands still shook. Whether it was the crash and burn or the fear of losing control, even Colette couldn't quite tell.

"Are...you okay?"
