The Yule Ball at Hogwarts was crazy tbh. I feel so bad for the Patil twins… because imagine. One of them managed to snatch Ron, who sat the whole night watching Hermione dance and being jealous of Viktor Krum who was dancing with her, but on the other hand he did look really hot in that outfit… so who was he really the most jealous of?

And one of the twins managed to snatch Harry, who sat the whole night watching Cho dance with Cedric Diggory, and Cho sure was pretty but when wasn’t she? Cedric, on the other hand, looked dazzling for the evening, so very handsome, he looked so fit in those robes… but did Harry understand what it was he was thinking and what it meant? Nah.

Did Ron? Nah.

the crowd boos. i begin to walk off the stage in shame when a voice speaks and command silence from the room.

“he’s right,” they say. i look up for the owner of the voice. hermione granger herself stands in the third row.

Okay, so I love a good Harry/Hermione/Ron poly Fic — mostly because of the feels. But imagine, after the war, everyone speculates about Harry’s love life. The trio eventually decides to ignore the questions about their love-life. The people who matter already know.

Despite the radio silence, the wizarding world continues to speculate. The most obnoxious opinions are written by Rita Skeeter. Hermione offers to remind (blackmail) Skeeter about their knowledge of her animagus status, but Harry tells her to let it be.

It becomes a hobby for them — keeping up with each other’s so-called love life’s. Harry laughs so hard that he chokes on his cereal when an article about Ron and Neville’s love affair is released. Ron is less amused, but when he sees Harry’s smile for the first time in months, he shrugs it off. The pictures of fourteen year old Harry and Hermione recirculate. Rumors about Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter fly.

Taking Harry’s cue, everyone thinks it’s hilarious. It becomes a bit of a family game. Fred places a candid photo of Harry laughing on the desk that sits behind the counter at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes. Fleur embraces him a little too warmly in the lobby of Gringotts.

(Harry is offended by the slurs they use to describe Fleur after that incident, but Fleur simply smiles, and says that people have called her name her whole life. “Veela have thick skin,” she winks at him.)

Three Christmas’s after the war, Ginny Weasley releases an article titled, “Bi-Wizard Champion” which speculates that Harry was involved with (or at the very least, crushing on) all three of his competitors the year of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Ginny gives him an advanced copy for Christmas.

Harry guffaws before planting a kiss on Ginny Weasley’s cheek. Unfortunately, a picture of the event appears in the Daily Prophet the next day.

Ginny is annoyed until she see’s the way Harry’s eyes light up at the wizarding world’s confusion, and when reporters ask her about it, she tells them that any hypothetical relationship she might have doesn’t affect the theory’s presented in her article. The public goes wild.

Next Christmas, she makes an appearance in Diagon Alley with a sapphire ring on her left hand, and when she sees Harry, he gives her a hug.

The Christmas after that Neville prances into the ministry of magic with a wedding band. A month later, he announces his engagement to Hannah Abbot, but during that month, Skeeter runs article after article about The Boy’s Who Lived engagement.

By the time photo of Ron with his arms around Hermione’s waist and his lips on Harry begins to circulate, no one has the inclination to know or care who Harry Potter is dating.

Harry has the most chaotic Bi-energy in the hbp. He's mind literally has only two things going on, Ginny Weasley and Draco Malfoy.

It's not even in different contexts, one second he is thinking about Ginny and another Draco.

For example this scene. Hermione is telling Harry about how she heard Romilda and other girls were talking about giving him Love portion so he that takes them to Slughorn's party. And she advices him to ask someone soon so the other girls will stop the nonsense. Our boy Harry is deep in thoughts how he wished he could take Ginny as a date. And the next thing in his mind is 'If Romilda could get the love portion into Hogwarts, Draco can get the necklace in too'.

And I'm like, my dude decide who you gonna choose.

it might barely be noticed by ron himself, as more of a tingling in the back of his mind in his first two years of hogwarts, something he doesn't need to think about, and he has far more important things to do, anyway.

ron in his third year, wondering vaguely why he and Hermione bicker so much, yet she still fixes her hair when she sees him, and he feels this swooping in his stomach whenever she calls him (with a faint twinge of fondness) ronald.

ron in his third year, alone in their dorm with seamus finnigan, and the subject turns to kissing, and someway somehow seamus finnigan is his first kiss. its not good by any stretch of the imagination, and both agree to never discuss it again. still, for months after it happens, ron can't help but look at his lips when he speaks.

ron in the summer, obsessed with krum, and when his family tease him for being such a big fan, he can't help but feel that they're right.

ron in a fight with harry, somehow both hating his best friend and shitting bricks for him and merlin he's glad hermione's still stuck by him. ron seeing all of krum's fangirls and knowing if things had been slightly different, he would've been one of them in a heartbeat.

ron looking at krum and hermione dance at the yule ball, and wondering why both of them are somehow the brightest in the room.

ron in the summer of his fourth year, and shit things are looking bad for the war, what with you-know-who being back and all, but he can't help but feel happy that he and hermione get a little alone time - and something definitely shifts.

ron being obsessed with kingsley's earring. and face.

ron being jealous of hermione still writing to krum, and yet wondering wether he could write to him too, call him victor just as she does.

ron in his sixth year, having not kissed anyone since seamus, and he's grown up now! he gives it a go with lavender, despite her never wanting to actually talk with him, always glancing over at parvati, as if she would care.

and when he and lavender finally break up, he finds he's much happier with his friends, anyway.

besides, he's pretty sure he's found who he wants.

that doesn't stop him from ogling various seventh years, and being angry for all the wrong reasons that ginny's dating dean thomas.

(despite his complaining, he's more relieved than angry at ginny and harry's relationship. he would hate it if he and ginny had the same type in men.)

seventh year ron, and he's a man now, and he's deep in the war effort, and he's scared and he's tired, but he's not running again. he knows he's gone for hermione, he knows hermione will probably never forgive him, but that won't stop him from at least trying.

bi ron weasely, and yes he's in a straight passing relationship, but that doesn't stop him from watching trashy muggle tv shows with hermione and playing smash or pass with the hot guys.

bi ron weasely, and he makes sure his kids know its normal to feel like this.

I do get it honestly. As a a young trans boy, I could imagine myself in another world where I did belong. But the sad truth that I've take to heart is that the creator would rather see me suffer the rest of my life than bring me happiness. For something that doesnt even affect her.

You dont have to drop your love of the series entirely to support trans people. I can't love it the same anymore, but I'm not you. I don't know how the series helped you and I wont shame you for continuing to enjoy it. All you really need to do to support your trans community is to not purchase anything Harry Potter related in a way where JKR will get a check from it to continue removing the rights of the trans community.

So rather than buying from the officical website or certified store merch, check your local thrift stores! Many people largely got rid of theirs and I know I find at leadt one t shirt for HP everytime I go. Instead of purchasing house themed merch, make your own like by knitting a scarf

The truth is HP will always be a thing. It's out there, it got a lot of attention and a lot of fans! In no sense will we be able to wipe it out completely. In truth, just be kind to your trans siblings if they express discomfort in the series and do not support JKR!

"controversial" take but I absolutely get angry and uncomfortable every time I see something HP related. it's not the series itself it's just the fact it's literally inseparable from jkr who herself is a massive fucking transphobe/transmisognist and made herself the head of that movement. I get wanting to "reclaim it" but is it worth hurting our trans sisters over a generic wizard series.

Everything was still so new, for the both of you. So it was no surprise that every time you shared kisses, held hands or even shared cuddles that a deep red blush would coat both of your cheeks. You had only come out as Lesbian to your friends about two months ago, and Hermione as Bi four months before that. So when she had asked you out on a date three weeks ago you had accepted it, having had a crush on the bushy haired brunette for a lot longer than you would care to admit. Your friends were supportive of you and only teased you a little bit about your new relationship but you were grateful that you had the smartest witch of your age as your girlfriend. The two of you were sitting on the couch in the common room, your friends all sitting around you as you studied when Hermione leaned over and places a kiss on your cheek out of the blue and you feel how your cheeks heat up

“It’s kinda cute how they still get so flustered when the other shows affection towards them” Ginny gushes as she leans into Harry’s side and you turn to hide your face in Hermione’s shoulder as Hermione scolds your friends

“Quit it, stop embarrassing my girlfriend”. Hearing her say that has your cheeks heating up all over again and you sigh as your friends chuckle.
