I really can't substantiate bc it's an ongoing situation but one of my best friends works at a formerly extremely inclusive and queer-friendly women's charity which has recently come under new management

and they told me the other day

that their 'gender interrogation' is this week (their words, not the employer's)

apparently, they and 2 other employees out of about 30-40 have been singled out and asked to say whether they self-identify as women. implicitly as a condition of continued employment.

because it's a women's charity they all already self-IDed as women when they started there for the purposes of the Equalities Act exemption on gender-specific services.

oh also as a Strange Coincidence all 3 of the staff who've been asked to reassert their gender are butch/GNC and there are femme nb people there who aren't being asked. My friend is nonbinary (but uses she/her at work), but is a dyke in Dickies and buttondowns so has to pinkie promise they're a woman in order to Protect The Women.

they're so fucking mad about it cause they're like. wild that as an afab person I have to self-ID as a woman for it to count, but self-ID means nothing for amab people (the charity has already jettisoned all its transfem staff)

I'm writing a one-shot for Kelsey and Trudy rn and I had a thought, so I am putting my peachyville prediction out there now.

I want to trust Tucker. Really, I do, but I can't. I think he is with the group of people behind terrorizing the town, and before it even became what we know of the Peachyville Horror, human Trudy knew. It's what he does in the basement and when she needs to leave the house in the middle of the day.

And because she knew, Tucker got scared and either killed her, made a story that she went "upstate" or something, created robot Trudy to disguise his action to not raise suspicion, and is hiding this until the last minute

OR.

Trudy was not killed but was said to have "gone away", Tucker was working on a robot Trudy the whole time to not raise suspicion, and she is somewhere being held captive as a future sacrifice to further the horrors and leave robot trudy to still fulfill her wifely and motherly duties while she is gone, but she isn't perfect enough yet to make the lie possible and that is why the robot Trudys keep getting dumped.

Okay, thoughts???

it's been a hot sec since I watched both action and all-stars but bear with me here.

I don't rlly mind action's finale too much (which might be surprising to most of the fandom) and all-stars finalists were meh (except for the spotlight on the newer gens during an all-star season, but whatever). but here's the vision I randomly came up with two hours ago:

action's finalists: (trustin 😶) or beth and lindsay or smth similar--all-girls finale would've been cool plus the besties vs. besties drama. nothing more needs to be said, I think y'all understand the gist, I don't think I need to explain that any further...

duncan's time to shine should've been during all-stars' finale against mal. og contestant vs. newer contestant (made more highlighted due to mal being dormant until the beginning of tdas). it would've been interesting and impactful imo to see duncan, one of the characters to get the most development in that season, war against his own moral beliefs (or lack thereof) while facing off against his former juvie pal who's way more chaotically evil/chaotically neutral than he has been during this season. like imagine a duncan who's already teetering bc he got dropped into the 'heroes team' and ppl keep thinking he's 'gone soft' and all he wants to do is prove them wrong, but here he is, somehow at the finale, facing someone he knows personally is worse than anything he can ever be, and a side of him does admire that, ofc, but also there's the million dollars to think abt. imagine imagine...everything abt that finale being one big irony, they both trade barbs back and forth bc they know each other from juvie so they know each other's ticks, the entire episode is just easter eggs of their individual pasts under the guise of certain things being said/done to mess with the other. so many internal dilemmas. and smth smth happens, mike fronts again in the middle of the finale, mal ends up relinquishing control of the host, no reset button involved, some sort of 'truce' between them occurs beforehand, mike's naturally confused but is rolling with it all, zoey could've still been one of the helpers, same with alejandro and heather, maybe chris's "cottage" does get blown up somehow, yada yada

Not to keep going on about them but I am convinced the only reason Carol and Daryl didn't end up together is because of the ageism/misogyny shit-sandwich. Everybody be so for real right now, if their story played out the exact same way except Carol was 27 and didn't have grey hair? Sloppy makeout by season 4. Instead we got everybody interpreting her sex jokes and pet-names as ''motherly'' somehow. Male characters can date women 20 years younger than them, but if she's 3 years older she might as well be his momma

another ship rant into the void but people on tiktok are so annoying about daryl & beth shippers. like if it’s not your thing, that’s totally fine but again, i feel like it’s never deep enough to be like “y’all are weirdos for thinking there was anything romantic between them” when i’m like 90% sure that they canonically both had more-than-platonic feelings for each other, they just weren’t given enough time to process what they actually meant. i have a feeling that if the writers decided not to kill her off (like they should’ve), they would’ve at least tried to explore their relationship in that way. like mind you, this is the same show with rosita & abraham, and their age gap is practically a decade more than daryl & beth’s. and i get it, rosita’s brain was probably fully developed when she met abraham lol, and beth was 16 when daryl met her and 18/19 after the prison, but i feel like the context of the end of the world really matters here. there are no real power dynamics anymore, they’ve all been through every circle of hell so i kinda just feel like age differences matter less in that world? obviously i’m not advocating for 18/19 year old girls to get with much older men irl, been there done that and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be believe me, but this is fiction and i do believe in separating the two for the most part. the actress who plays beth was also much older when she did those scenes with daryl, so it doesn’t feel so weird to me to read romantic chemistry there. anyway, no i don’t have a love life of my own currently and yes, i have too much time on my hands so i think i should probably just take my own advice and realize that it is indeed not that deep on either side <3
