Best Pokémon Villains Tournament- Individuals Bracket- Round 1: Match 1

And so we kick off the tournament, already seeing the wide variety of contestants from both the main series and spin-off games, as submitted by you! In this very first match, the head of Kalos' Team Flare, Lysandre, will be facing the legendary historical warrior- Nobunaga himself!

Nobunaga features in Pokémon Conquest, the crossover game with the Nobunaga's Ambition series. The strategy rpg game was a chance to see the world of Pokémon in the past- even before the release of Legends Arceus. Nobunaga is the main antagonist of the first main story in the game, and he's a powerful force! Nobunaga is the most powerful warrior in the game, which makes it even more exciting when you can recruit him after defeating him. It's no doubt that the spin-off villains will have an uphill battle against main series characters, but can Nobunaga start off strong and defeat a major game's main antagonist?

That antagonist, of course, is Lysandre! The boss of Team Flare, Lysandre wants to rid the world of greed and what he calls the evils of humanity using the ultimate weapon! A fanatic for sure, he almost succeeds at his goal, only stopped by the player at the last second. Interestingly, Lysandre's Gyarados knows moves not able to be obtained on Gyarados in X and Y- Iron Head and Outrage. He must've learned these from tutors in other regions! He also shares three Pokémon with fellow fanatic and villain Cyrus, as they both use Murkrow, Honchkrow, and Gyarados. Being the more recognisable in this match, Lysandre has an advantage, but he musn't be lazy! Anyone could still win this tournament!

Best Pokémon Villains Tournament- Individuals Bracket- Round 1: Match 2

The random seeding of the tournament was inevitably going to put members of the same team up against each other, but in the second match we already have Team Rocket turning on each other!

Ariana is the only female executive in Team Rocket, and has done well for herself- being either the interim boss while Giovanni is away, or second in command to Archer, depending on the source. Her leadership sees Team Rocket pull off stunts at both the Lake of Rage and the Goldenrod Radio Tower! She's only halted by the combined power of the player, and the champion Lance.

Proton is one of Ariana's fellow executives, though not quite as senior a member. Still, he's known as one of the scarier members of Team Rocket, if the grunts are to be believed, and his operation at the Slowpoke Well is one of the more memorable schemes Team Rocket pulls off! Interestingly, his Japanese name is Lance, which of course had to be altered given the champion's English name being the same (Lance's Japanese name being Wataru).

Who will come out ahead from this Team Rocket tussle?

His best effort at not murdering someone is to start wiping his weapon with their clothes. General vibe of 'if anything happened to Venerable i'd kill everyone in this room and then myself AND SOMETHING JUST HAPPENED TO VENERABLE'. Anyway get their asses babe <3 

Shen Yuan / Shen Qingqiu from The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System (SVSSS)

Submission 1: He was an anti fan that literally got so mad at a novel he was reading that he died and then was transmigrated into the novel he hated (besides the main character) as the villain. The author of said novel also transmigrated and they formed a love/hate broship.

Submission 2: 

My man is the hater-est hater to ever hate, except like Kendrick Lamar. He hate-read a webnovel with over 20 million words, and left scathing commentary on every single chapter. Even the author Shang Qinghua, of the webnovel PIDW, which by subtext was very very popular, knew Shen Yuan (Peerless Cucumber) as the legendary anti-fan.  He hated it (everything except the protagonist Luo Binghe) so much that after reading the last chapter, he choked and died (...slight exaggeration). Shen Yuan also proceeded to transmigrate into the novel, make everyone fall in love with him, use the power of headpats and 'a smile from the cold beauty' to overturn the genre from harem-esqe to danmei, bending the protagonist. Tldr, the power of Shen Yuan's haterism turned Cool Edgy Awesomely Powerful Protagonist Luo Binghe to soggy wet clingy white lotus bing-bong Bingmei, and it's honestly better off this way <3 

Submission 3: he's an internet hater screenname Peerless Cucumber who hates this webnovel so much he dies and transmigrates into it to fix the entire plot and also he's left so many hate comments the author (fellow transmigrator) knows and remembers who he is after being in the webnovel world for decades. Dedication.

Y’all, Summer is not a Grimm. And if she were, it would be a recent development, and frankly, an uninteresting one, as we’d be dealing with a hero tragically turned monster instead of a character with flaws. I feel like too many people take Ruby theorizing that Summer is a Grimm at face value, ignoring that she doesn’t know the hound was an experiment, long after Summer’s disappearance. Whatever happened to Summer isn’t going to be as simple as death, or being Grimm, it’s going to be something that causes further conflict, especially for Ruby and Yang.
