Hello everyone! Thank you all for your help with the GMMTV Kissing Multiverse project so far. I thought I would give an update.

The first draft is here.

Must be shown on screen in a GMMTV tv series (no kisses from ads, promotional content, etc.)

Poll Update

I enlisted all of your help deciding if the WaiKorn sorta kiss from the Bad Buddy x ATOTS Our Skyy 2 episodes actually involved lip touching and if the HeartLiMing kiss from Moonlight Chicken should be included.

The results are in: you voted that Jimmy and Drake's lips do NOT touch, therefore their kiss will be NOT be counted in this project. The HeartLiMing poll resulted in an exact tie (!!!) so I am here to be the tie breaker - upon careful review, if we don't see the lips touch, the kiss doesn't count (I think that will be easier for decision-making in the long run). Therefore, the HeartLiMing kiss will NOT be counted in this project. Thanks everyone for participating!

2. Jojo has an... outsized impact on the number of kissing pairs. He directed 5 of the top 9 shows with the most different kissing pairs - and roughly 17% of all the shows analyzed - but his shows contain about 30% of kisses present in the data set (note: I am just looking at kissing pair iterations here not at unique kissing pairs, e.g., Phuwin/Pond are a pair in two shows (once in a Jojo show and once in a non-Jojo show), so they are counted twice. Otherwise I would have to think about in what show/under which director a kissing pair first originated, how many different shows/directors they've kissed under... this section is mostly a quick exercise in showing how Jojo has a lot of different kissers in his shows so I'm not trying to be that statistically accurate.)

The median number of "different kissing pairs per show" of a Jojo show is 3.38, compared to a median of only 1.69 "different kissing pairs per show" in non-Jojo shows.

3. There were more same gender kissing pairs than mixed gender kissing pairs, though not by much. This may also reflect the data set used (I know I am more familiar with QLs than het GMMTV shows)

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game

Favorite Thai QL: Bad Buddy is still tops, although it is starting to be that there are stronger and stronger ones that maybe at some point it will be like choosing from favorite children haha. BBS is a great relational story line, but I am excited about the more plotty ones happening, especially with fantasy or sci-fi plots and have high hopes others will continue to rot my brain. (looking at you Be My Favorite)

Favorite Pairing: I really feel like this is gonna get boring if I keep talking about Pat and Pran so I'm gonna also say Ink/Pa - I love their dynamic, I was so excited they would be a ship. I also am pretty certain Pisaeng and Kawi will be on this list - for reasons you can find in my screaming all over my blog right now, but since it isn't over yet I guess only time will tell. I would also say Akk and Theo. I wouldn't equally say Cher and Gun, but Force and Book do what they do well. Their shows are very unserious, but we all need some of that in our lives and they are the best at giving it.

Most underrated actor: Until now, I would have definitely said Gawin Caskey. He was never given a lead role and more than anything was doing OSTs (although his voice is beautiful so that's a great way to use him, but shouldn't be the only way). Last year when he was in both Not Me and Enchante at the same time it was like "Why the hell hasn't he gotten a lead?" Seems clear now that he maybe hadn't been the most comfortable with all that being a lead entails, but he is out there doing it now and my boy is so good. I'm so happy for him. I hope this means he'll get more opportunities later.

Favorite Character: It isn't going to be original, but yeah, it's Pat and followed oh so closely by Pran. They're great characters brought to life by great actors. Pran feels a little closer to my own tendencies and so perhaps that is why I get all heart eyes for Pat too. He's just so heart on his sleeve when he stops being oblivious and you gotta love someone who loves openly, honestly without holding back.

Favorite Side Character: This one is tough because I love a ton of side characters, but surprisingly Wai keeps popping into my head. I think Wai clearly is a complicated character, but he does have a nice growth arc, let's go of his stubborn pride, which he seems pretty attached to, and comes around to caring about the engineering guys at the end. I'm sure that it's Jimmy that really sells it, but I have always had positive feels for Wai despite him pissing me off during the series lol. Obviously I love Ink and Pa, and yes, Korn. Pearmai is amazing in Be My Favorite and I love every scene she is in. Max too. I love Max so much, he could never get enough screen time. I've gotta stop or I'll just keep listing them.

Favorite scene in a QL: Ok, this is serious spoilers for Triage so if you don't want to read any, then don't keep going - but honestly I *loved* that the vision Tin had of Tol earlier in the series was actually Tol flipped into the loop. It was such a fun time loop variation and I really enjoy fun time travel paradoxes and scenes where you understand it better from a different angle. Like I say below, underrated.

Favorite line in a QL: This is impossible, but what came to mind first was the scene is ep 11 part 4 of BBS where Pat and Pran have an exchange but Pat's lines are: "Thank you. For trying to make a silly guy like me happy...You never leave me. You fight alongside me. That makes me feel very happy." Again, Pat just telling how he feels in the moment and I love that so very much. And Pran barely says anything with words, but Nanon is king of the sparkly eyes and he says it all in return.

Most Anticipated QL (& why): Only Friends. I love all the actors. It's gonna be a hot mess of drama and all of them in the roles clearly are going to have fun doing it. And Cherry Magic because I want to see how they adapt it and after seeing Tay and New non-DBK roles I think they'll be great in it.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: Pat and Pran are the great communicators who know each other enough to give and take when it's needed and isn't that what we all hope to be able to do?

Most toxic relationship in a QL: I...feel like I have to plead the fifth on this. the ship I would put here is very popular and I think their whole dynamic is problematic and can't really even think about them without feeling annoyed so yeah, I have one that stands out over the others for me but I'll leave it at that. there's definitely plenty though. the healthy relationships are not always the majority.

Guilty pleasure series: Hmm, probably Together with Me. There was so many problems with that show and the plot was terrible in many ways, but Max and Tul were so convincing as the best friends who turned lovers and couldn't get out of their own way. I loved them in that. I also mostly liked Big Dragon which is another problematic start but worked for me. My rule apparently is if you are gonna hook up and be messed up, you both gotta be equally under influences.

Most underrated series: Well, this could change depending on how Be My Favorite ends and is finally received (I think it might not get the noise it deserves, it doesn't seem like it is at this point) but Triage is definitely what I'd say is most underrated one that has finished. It's plot is fun and the holes are lamp shaded and the actors obviously have great chemistry and the theme is that trying matters and I need those kinds of messages in my life, pretty much all the time.

So hear me out.

Aspen, the human that got all caught up in a demon deal, descends and wakes up in the In Between.

She wanders the large city, and ends up in Devil’s Keep. The only thing is -she glows like a damn light bulb because she still has a soul and a bright one at that. This sweet bb is just like…🥺. Since it is always night down below, well Aspen doesn’t know yet, she wanders into Sin City Bar, where she realizes that its patrons are all dead, or demons. And this glowing entity of a human just strolls right in. Right up to the bar where she is greeted by Mellie, an antlered girl who immediately takes notice of Aspen’s whole ass predicament.

Since the boss is in his office (Bernard) she is really biting her fist on this one, should Mellie really bother the boss? So she gets the next possible thing.

The twins.

Which wasn’t the best idea and Aspen is ran out of the bar and back out onto the street in a fit of terror.

Switching to Bernard’s POV the bar is still booming and he decided to take a smoke outside at the back of the building.

He begins to notice he may not be alone. He calls out to whoever may have been out there, he wouldn’t be surprised to get into a fight out here, but it was best to be careful.

[yeah, really Bernie? You having to be careful-ooh wait I forgot Arthur Demose kicked your ass but what that was like back in 1919 or some shit]

So he calls out while he drags in smoke from the cigarette. And then Aspen comes from the shadows, glowing so brightly that he has to shield his eyes. At first he is like “Holy Hell, why is there an angel in the in between?” But then he sees that Aspen is not in fact an angel, but a human.

One that was still alive.

And not supposed to be here.

It clicks that if anyone gets their hands on them its over for a life that wasn’t quite done yet.

“Hey uh, you? How’d you get all the way down here?” And Aspen looks up at him with the most innocent look.”

And she tells him she doesn’t know-one minute she’s helping a girl on the street from being mugged the next thing she knows she’s down here.

He eventually helps her inside his bar, clearing it out and shooing out customers. Bernard is doing everything in his power to make sure no one saw her. Even though she has already entered the bar from earlier.

He shrugs off the coat he has on because -fashion and throws it over the too of her, carrying her into the bar.

Mellie points “is that?”

“Yes.”

“We are in way over our heads.”

The twins are of no help since they high tailed it out of sight before he got in.

So the only other option is to…get the help of another damn nephalem. The only other one Bernard could think of was Ezekiel since most took to Topside with the other fluffy winged bois.

Ezekiel lived way out of the city, on the outskirts in The Ruins. They were from the war there, about a century or three ago. Bernard couldn’t remember-too much fighting for him anyway.

Anyway ends up helping to get the girl back home, but they’d have to get the help of Elder Asphodel . By the time they travel to meet the elder demon to send the young girl back the first thing that happens is that Demose sends his demons to search for the living soul that was in the in between. He has never seen a soul that strong nor bright.

And he wants it.

The second thing hey have a weird encounter with a soul of a man, in which hitches a ride back to the human world alongside Mellie, Ezy, Bernard and Aspen.

Elder Asphodel is a nice grandpa character :)

[“Oh dear,” The old elder frowns, stepping down from his flowered throne. ��You poor young lady…you must’ve been terrified.” 10/10 would braid flowers into her hair]

They send Aspen back and put her back where she came from. But as soon as they get her there.

They have to erase her memory, so that she can never know about the other realm.

Which is sad of course? Right?

Really sad. So she knows its better this way. And for the sake of her parents and their human lives, its best if this happens. Its not really a heartfelt moment. But they all say their goodbyes and were on their way before anyone saw them.

Except they can’t leave.

The In Between closed their doors, and now every single thing that Bernard feared at that moment just happened. They call upon The Elder Asphodel and their is basically nothing but static from the other side.

The four beings Bernard, Ezy Mellie and the Lost Soul are all trapped in the human world.

And that fucking sucks.

Not only that Mr Asshole himself, Arthur Demose is tearing through the void with his little team of demons going after that one strong soul. And he will do everything in his power to get it.

As for Bernard and the others? They gotta do something. Anything to get them back home. This is worse than anything that could have happened to a demon.

Worse than Hell itself.

However, they choose to head back to Aspen, knowing that if they couldn’t get home, she was going to remember them.

And good to know she did, but when they show back up-some shit goes down and now its a roadtrip to get four other worldly beings back home before the ruler of one of those realms destroys Aspens world.

That’s all the basic need to know lore for right now.

Rayyan: they do everything they can to make sure that you're relaxed and at ease so you can heal. they especially love reading to you, but there's about a one in five chance they'll catch whatever you have. it's all right, now at least you'll be miserable together?

If I go back to naming my anons I think I'd have to call you identity crisis anon because whoa did the question about my top 5 films of all time take me on a journey. 😂 I've been thinking about it, talking about it with friends and just generally consumed with indecision. This one is after soft epilogue (which seems to be shaping up more as process Tol's grief epilogue), and is a bit of character dynamic exploration after TinTol have moved beyond all that has happened to them. I enjoy thinking about how Tol is likely the more open and creative one, while Tin, although very passionate, is more by the book. And so I have a little scenario about Tol trying to get Tin to "play" with him a bit and some awkwarness and cuteness (and hopefully hotness) ensues. It's really what they deserve.

For Bad Buddy, I shared over on twitter an excert for the identity swap fic that has a name now, The Triple N project. And I shared it there because someone had once posted a clip pointing out Nanon exists in the BBS universe because Pat sings Nanon's song while waiting for Pran in his car and I was hit with the need to write an identity swap fic where Pran has to pretend to be Nanon. Pat gets close to Pran thinking Pran is someone else. I started it recently and I think it will be fun.

the boy next door is mostly an idea, but it's a slight AU of one of my favorite book series, the Raven Cycle. It is about leylines, energy and magic. In my made up brain AU Pat wonders about a boy next door who he rarely sees. His parents tell him to stay away from him and their family. And Pat figures maybe they are right because weird stuff always seems to happen in their neighborhood and Pat's parents always blame their neighbors. But after one day when Pat's sister falls very ill and a medicine from the doctor appears almost out of the blue, Pat really thinks something is off. And of course, because he is Pat, he's gonna find out what it is.
