I actually think Dorian and Orym should fight more.

Remember when their slowly building tension over and entire episode (full of passive aggressive remarks and blame throwing) led to threats? And how after, Orym thanked Dorian for handing over the crown sadly because he knew Dorian would be mad at him? And Dorian couldn't even look at him because he was legitimately hurt, thinking Orym was disappointed in him for doing what he thought was right? That was peak.

The fact they went from that to their current closeness and trust is the best part of their entire dynamic. Their relationship was hard fought and still will be. They will fight for it because they respect and care for one another deeply, and their disagreements don't change that, only improve it.

OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

Literally the mod devs asked themselves what crazy thing a slugcat could do #Coded it #And was like uhhh how does this fit into the lore #So that's how we got boomcat and Jesus Cat #I literally talked to one of the devs by chance (they're pretty active. Something I like about Leo is that he’s honestly really chill? It’s easy to remember the moments where he’s being obnoxious or excitable but I feel like most of the time he’s incredibly “go with the flow” and has an overall affable demeanor.

#rottmnt #rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles #rottmnt leo #rise leo #Genuinely speaking I feel like said demeanor is incredibly useful for when he has to charm and/or persuade people into listening to him#I have a whole post talking about Leo’s charm and how he consistently gets people to hear him out even if he’s annoyed or upset them #like they’ll still listen to what he has to say in full #his charisma stat is real and utilized quite often in this series I swear he’s not just a loser cringeboy all the time 😭#if he wants to persuade and/or charm then he honestly sooo often does #me listing the 400th reason why Leo grows up to be the worlds best ninja and a good 365 of those reasons are Leo’s various subterfuge skill #Like most episodes where he’s not the main focus (and even many where he is)#he’s a voice of reason who notices things quickly and is often the one taking point to talk down situations #something interesting I found between Leo and Mikey is that #Mikey tells people what they need to hear #Leo tells people what they want to hear #not only out of his own agenda either #when bullhop was wrecking their home leo was the one that negotiated to make the situation go smoother #even if he would have rather bullhop left #meanwhile Mikey is the one who bluntly tells things as it is #small character moment that means a lot to me #Mikey is an honest boy who is upfront about his feelings #Leo prefers to let people make their own decisions he wants them to through steering the convo in that direction #but he is easily cowed by guilt #regardless leo is a people person - he knows how to talk to them and how to manipulate/persuade #and I like that his bros know this and often push him forward to do the talking if they wanna charm someone into doing what they want #I think Leo’s hope speeches are also an example of this - he’s saying what people really want to hear (and often it’s ALSO what they NEED)#the further the series goes on the higher Leo’s inner stress rises and he just keeps that chill aura anyway #there’s a reason!!! he wanted to go to a SPA so badly!!#literally the first thing he does when he gets in is rest #no joke meditation would do him good? like- it’s a Leo thing and I genuinely think rise leo would be no different here

recurring minor characters not being in s2 of the show does mean that TLO is absolutely doomed now if they ever do get to it, because the weight and impact of characters like Silena and Beckendorf are entirely based on how long they've been around in the books and their longstanding connection to events in the story and particularly Percy (not to mention Beckendorf's importance in SoM specifically but i digress)

HOWEVER. on the bright side: this means they are spared from being in the show for now. so.

#pjo #pjo tv #riordanverse #charles beckendorf #silena beauregard #silena also not showing up until the end if theyre gonna keep her being the spy would also be terrible because like. theres no impact then.#this random character comes out of nowhere and is apparently Clarisse's bff and also the spy for the TA? that's out of left field #UNLESS we have already established Silena as this recurring extremely trusted character. she avoids conflict! she's a daughter of aphrodite #she loves her (eventually) boyfriend and she's so beloved she managed to become best friends with CLARISSE of all people!#AND she's close friends with Annabeth too!#you *need* to set that up as early as possible with her or else her role in the narrative falls completely flat #im kind of wondering if with how much they've been emphasizing Chris this early on they might merge Chris and Silena's characters #im thinking either they're gonna have Chris defect from the army way earlier on (SoM) for the whole ''teams racing'' thing #so its like Clarisse and Luke both racing to try and save Chris from the same situation Percy Annabeth and Tyson are saving Grover from #and that being an earlier version of Clarisse saving Chris from the labyrinth or something #or they combo Chris and Silena and have Chris stick around at CHB after Luke leaves for the TA #since the show already establishes Chris as like Luke's right-hand man in s1 since Chris is basically only shown alongside him #so having Chris stick around at CHB would inherently be suspicious and his dynamic with Luke would indicate he's the spy #and because he's dating Clarisse he can fill in those roles Silena fulfills as Clarisse's Patroclus #which implies he'd probably die to the drakon in TLO for Clarisse's rampage in a moment of redemption but given Chris like.#never shows up post-TLO anyways they would probably figure that's fine #im thinking thoughts

There have been several things in my everyday life that i have just, "decided to not let bother me". And that seemed to work really well for me. Like, well if i can't seem to change that then i guess i'll just accept the fact that i'm a person whose life is like that, and be at peace with it.

years later i'm finding out that while i thought i was not letting it bother me, what i was actually doing was ignoring that it was bothering me the whole time. And, wow, are those two things different.

#in the long term. but they feel so similar in the short term #like in the moment they both feel like you don't care about it anymore with some relief and an ability to focus on other things in your lif #but when that thing runs its whole orbit out in the dark and arrives back in the center of your attention later in life #it arrives with the full force of the decade or two you've been walking with that particular pebble in your shoe #and you find yourself thinking “i'd rather chew my own foot off than have to take one more step onto that little fucking rock again istfg”#made all the worse by the fact you've not given yourself any compassion or accommodation about it #like you haven't said to yourself it's okay you walked less miles than you needed to walk today - after all you have a pebble in your shoe #and you haven't used a cane or taken foot-resting breaks or anything in fact you've just been doing your best to not even limp #so instead of not letting the pebble bother me i've just been doing things in a way in the way guaranteed to make the pebble bother me most #and i think i've got like #several miscellaneous shoe bits going on down there smh

Not to be parasocial but I am glad that the watcher boys seem to be handling everything well. Obviously with their response and listening to the fans, but I'm also glad that the severity of the backlash hasn't completely killed their excitement for their projects and the future of watcher.

This whole situation was a lot for everyone, and I know it's left a bad taste in some people's mouths, but I'm happy that Shane, Ryan and Steven have had level-headed responses to it (at least, public responses)

I think it's really annoying that leo has completely falsified memories of jason too and this is barely acknowledged in the books
