okay. So I've finished book 1 of keeper of the lost cities for the first time. And I'm loving this keefe dude already?? Like I never thought I'd like a fictional character so quickly. All it took was like one page for me to fall for him, I am aware that keefe is one of the most loved characters in the fandom, and I can see why (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also the book is a solid 9.5/10, the only thing I was frustrated about was probably the slight info dumping about the whole blackswan thing towards the end? because it took me like 3 reads to understand the whole situation, of course, we could just narrow it down to me being slow too, lol. But I'm VERY excited to continue reading the rest. So while we're at it, I'll put in my first impressions of the characters, so I can look back on it after I've read all the books, to see how much my perception has changed of them.

Sophie- i like her, she's really mature for her age, I keep forgetting that she's like 12 lmao. But she's well written, her emotions seem very raw and natural. Of course, she may seem overpowered but, I think that's the whole point of the story, she is supposed to be overpowered, so I don't mind and i wouldn't call her a Mary sue. Overall great protagonist, my girlie deserves a break tho, she got dumped in the hospital atleast 6 times lol.

Fitz- i actually think he's cool. I liked him better in the beginning of the story tho, I feel like afterwards, the dude kinda just disappeared a little? Keefe and Sophie seemed to have more private interaction than those two, and keefe literally only came by in the middle. But yeah, I feel like he had more of a personality in the start. Keefe and Dex, in my opinion had more personality in 5 minutes than fitz did the whole book, but I wouldn't judge so quickly, it's only the first book after all, Hopefully he'd have more page time in the later books. I still like him tho, just not as much as keefe.

Dex- Yeah he is such a typical best friend, I love him. His beef w the vackers is so funny lol I was relieved when Sophie stuck with him even after she became popular tho, also, he seems to have a crush on sophie right? It's kinda obvious, but overall friendship goals 10/10. I vocally "AWW-ed" after he said "are you kidding, i can't wait to tell everyone that you're my first friend" like I need a guy bestie like him :(

Alden- honestly, my heart warmed so much with his father-like dynamic with sophie tbh. He seemed to genuinely care about her well being, but I don't want to get too attached to him tho, just in case becomes a traitor or some shit later on, you can literally never tell with the adults lol. I've read enough books to back that up. But yeah, i really like him and della, the amount of reassuring hugs he gives sophie really heals me :(, They're like sophies 2nd (well, in her case, 3rd) parents. The amount of effort and lengths Alden put to get her out of trouble is actually sweet.

Elwin- This guy is such a W. He is like an adult keefe tbh. He is probably my favorite adult so far lol.

Cassius- I'm sorry, but Mr jerk face over here reminds me SO much of Lucius Malfoy??? Like ?? I feel so bad for Keefe, like poor baby leave him alone smh. I really wanna deck his royal highness in the face tbh.

Biana- absolutely loathed her in the beginning, she gave off such bad snob vibes lol but I love her now. I like the trope of two people forced to be friends w eachother by someone actually end up becoming friends. It's rather uncommon as far as I've read, atleast.

Grady and Edaline- is it bad that i thought they were going to be evil? Yeah I have so much trust issues, it's concerning. But yeah, they're both big W's, their backstory, their temporary contemplation to reject sophies adoption, everything aligned well with their backstory. Greatly written characters.

And last but not least, the king himself, Keefe- okay, he's like added to my list of fictional crushes now lol (along with Percy Jackson, Jason grace, Steve Harrington, chat noir, Eugene fitzherbert, edmund pevensie and Ravi singh ofc). How does sophie not have a fat crush on him, like- ma'am if you don't want him, I'll take him. But jokes aside, he feels like the most authentic character out of them all, tbh. Epitome of great writing. He was inserted to the story as this random dude that sophie runs into, and becomes an og in like 5 minutes. He is like a mix of Eugene from tangled, Kristoff from Frozen and chat noir from mlb all at the same time?? I cannot wait to see more of him and his backstory, especially with his parents. I know alot of people dislike the humorous guy with depression trope since it's overused, but I like how it played out on keefe, he uses school as an escape, which is very relatable.

Also, bonus, i LOVE the world building, the light leaping and all, very creative. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2

Finished watching the Soul Eater anime

AND I LOVE MAKA AND SOUL HOLY SHIT, YOUR HONOR THEY ARE A DUO . NEVER SEPARATE THEM AHSJBXKZHSB

After watching jjk, Nobara was my 2nd favourite character because of how she's both badass and girly, but I was bummed that she didn't appear as much as I wanted her to in the anime, so I looked to other animes where a girl was the main character and saw Soul Eater had a female main protagonist.

The first episode and I was HOOKED. LOVED IT AAA MAKA KNOWS HOW TO KICK ASS AND SHE'S SO COOL AGSJWWJCOQLFJWK

At first I was kinda on the fence about the art style, but after getting into the first episode I positively ADORE IT. So much charm and style and exaggerated poses which kinda reminds me of ROTTMNT in a way. I see people mentioning it was Tim Burton-esque, and I see it too. A lot of halloween vibes which was very fitting at the time.

Anyways, the fight animation was great, I loved Maka (and Soul) and I was very invested,, until the fanservice came out. I felt like bashing my skull against the wall and just dying inside because of how much I couldn't handle the cringe. But I held out because Maka was my light in the darkness.

Super glad I did because Maka is so fun to watch as a character huehehe. Her dynamic with other characters is really fun, she's a capable fighter and knows how to get around in a fight. She even goes off the hinge and if you know me that makes me giggle excitedly ehhehehehehe (poor crona tho ;_;)

My brother told me "It's an oldie but it's a goodie" and (for the most part) I very much agree. I was late to this anime by 14 years but better late than never amirite?

Anyways, Soul and Maka are everything to me and they should NOT be separated. Though Maka looks like the reasonable one, they're both equally dumbasses. They bicker a lot and sometimes have serious arguments which cause them to split apart, but their friendship runs very deep. I love how I feel like they stand equal with eachother, both pull their weight and one's presence completes the other's, whether literally through the weapon-meister relationship, or figuratively through their friendship and uplifiting eachother when they're down in the dumps.

Soul genuinely really cares for her. Like, he shields Maka in the fight with Stein, Crona, and when she fell, he's there to pull her out the deep end when she's gone into Madness or when her knees buckle under the pressure of a battle or when she's furious beyond belief, and he's loyal as hell and will go through hell and back for her

And the feeling is very mutual! Maka is devastated when he took a hit for her and is determined to get stronger. The scene where she picks up Soul although her hands were burnt by him was hype as hell.

Their whole schtick of like "staying cool" is also so adorable i cant my heart-

The first half of the anime was fantastic. Though it pains me to say the second half was rather lackluster and the ending was disappointing imo. I've heard whispers of spoilers that they fumbled with the ending but I wanted to make that judgement by myself.

It baffles me why these studios don't just put the series on hiatus until more chapters from the manga releases.

Anyways, I'm currently picking up from the manga and I'm hoping for a better ending and story there ;u;

At the slightest indication of a loss, he withdraws, slipping out at just the right time before it’s considered a forfeit. 

In this game with you, he removes himself quietly, like a ghost haunting your memories. It’s the day after the seventh time he’s spent the night when he cuts contact. Calls, texts, everything. 

You don’t understand any of it; what you had was good—messages you can’t stop replying to, scratches down the length of his spine, fingers threading through the silk strands of his hair; that kind of good. You don’t see why it should end, don’t want it to. 

So you negotiate. 

Bundled up in your favorite coat and the scarf he never returned for, you corner him in the crisp chill of an autumn afternoon. He’s wearing that damn leather jacket again, black turtleneck high to hide his skin from what you hope is the cold and not from you. 

His gaze continues to reel you in, obsidian pools you could sink into. He still smells of apple and tonka bean; you know the cedarwood won’t hit until he’s walked away, trailing the air he passes through.

It’s a softness to him he’s never shown you before, less mysterious and more genuine. 

You learn that he keeps mementos and photos all over his room, either aesthetically displayed or safely tucked inside boxes; that he holds onto the things that remind him of the people he’s let in his life, even when they’re gone—especially when they are.

He loves snacking, biscuits with tea especially, nuts second, and fruits third. When he reaches over one afternoon, cracker pinched between his fingers to feed you so casually, you freeze momentarily. 

But you shake it off quickly, biting it from his fingertips while you smile brightly. The Suguru you know always looks at you directly, but this one coughs before blinking one time too many.

You tell him it’s a late birthday gift from you, a last hurrah for your cutest winter outfits. The end of a season before a new one begins. 

Velvet slips through your fingers as you push the curtain to the side, and you bow your head to step in with Suguru close behind. The set-up is fairly simple: a bench, the camera, a touch screen to keep it modernized. You can take a total of eight shots, to be printed later into two strips of four—one for you and one for him, you figure. 

It’s a bit cramped when you settle into the seat, soft cushion sinking further once Suguru follows next to you; for a man over 6 feet, dressed loosely in wide pants and layers of blazers, you’re surprised he even managed to squeeze himself to fit in this tiny space. 

You zip your jacket up until the collar, fleece tickling the corners of your fingertips. The earmuffs you’re wearing act as a perfect statement piece while simultaneously keeping your hair from flying.

It’s a bit unsettling, but Suguru’s been quiet since you got here—watching, observing. 

(Even while you’re setting up the timer, suggesting poses he’s nodding off to, he focuses on you entirely, tilting his head subconsciously.

So when you peer at him smiling, earmuffs resting cozily by your ears, his eyes soften, face relaxing as the corners of his lips curve up into a small grin.

He says it, mouth forming the syllables around his words. You tilt your head, confused, eyebrows furrowing because you can’t hear him.

His hand reaches for you, pushing your earmuffs to slide down the back of your head. It lands to rest around your neck.

“You win.” he says, loud enough to fill the space of the booth. 

You still don’t quite get it, brow raised in puzzlement.

So he grabs your hand, interlacing his fingers with yours before he repeats himself again.

“I said, you win.” 

And the look on your face when it registers, how your eyes glisten like glints on a sunshower; how you give him the prettiest smile that has his heart running for miles. 

He’s confident he’ll always remember this version of you, thankful that he has evidence of it as the camera goes off into another—

Flash!

Tears well up in your lash line; one blink and they’ll fall. You’re smiling so hard he wonders if your cheeks are hurting, if you’ll want him to massage them the way you smooth out the knots between his shoulder blades. 

Your hands remove themselves from his, only to replace the heat on his face.

Flash!

Then you kiss him, lips crashing onto his. you taste of pomegranate—the lip gloss he can’t resist. 

His hand finds its way around your waist, spreading itself to support your back as he dips you, pressing against you harder. While his fingers slot themselves in the junction between your ear and jaw, your hands fall to his chest, gripping the lapels of his blazer. 

Lips smacking, sliding. A breathy smile. 

Flash!

When you part, his forehead rests against yours, the proximity holding you nose-to-nose. 

Suguru’s never felt this kind of peace—he hopes the camera captures it, how contentment looks on his face in moments like this with you.

Leo and Donnie do have that dynamic, yes! They are close and get along very well, and Leo will be a shoulder to cry on if Donnie is upset over something BM has done (then Leo may... get some revenge for his brother), but they will argue and fight as well. Leo is even more stuck up here then in Canon, so Donnie definitely savors every win he's able to get, and Leo definitely loves bragging about his 99% win rate JWBEKFN

Leo is, yes! That's one of his largest inspirations. Leo, in the AU, is an obsessive, lovesick stalker who does everything from blackmailing, breaking and entering, trying to mentally break his victims for entertainment, etc. Tho Usagi is the only victim that Leo ever actually fell in love with, most other victims had no romantic feelings or were more like high-school puppy love. They are all more violent and morally ambiguous, they have and do good and bad things. Leo is violent, obsessive, and manipulative, but he is also loyal, earnest, and always let's those he cares about know it.

YOU ARE SPOT ON WITH APRIL QIWBEJEJRJRJ!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY! DEF CANON NOW WKEBEKDN!!!! April is very unimpressed and it's basically impossible to surprise or scare her. She's basically siblings with the boys, but she also uses them for her own benefit. She will use them for news reports, and may ask them to hurt people or let her get blurry photo to scare people. She spreads conspiracy theories and likes getting people on bandwagons for clout and such. Donnie and Leo are the only ones allowed to touch/braid her hair, Mikey tried to tie her to a chair once and he got his ass BEAT

Mikey will either practice for his next show at the nexus, read comics/watch cartoons, make art (he tends to make disturbing/provoking graffiti around New York, he likes designing tattoos, etc), he also likes sewing and makes his own clothes, and likes cooking! He only cooks for his family, and about 40% of the time it'll have some type of posion :P

Yes!!!!! They all show physical affection! Leo is the most touchy, he will almost always be touching/holding anyone around him. Him and Mikey will often have arms around eachother, hug, pat eachother, etc. Donnie doesn't like being touched really, but he will let Leo hold onto some of his spidershell arms. Raph will often just lean against the others, but he let's his brothers sit or rest on his shell if they don't bother him much. April let's Leo and Don touch her hair, and Leo can hold onto her sleeves if he wants. They will occasionally also turtle pile, Leo just pretends to sleep tho cus he wants to be involved IWBWKEJFJF (if you ever see Leo holding onto someone's waist or something, this is why! It's not at all romantic ((ew)), he just likes physical touch)

Why Stolitz will be endgame

Since the latest episode of Helluva Boss dropped (episode 5) I’ve been seeing a lot of people simply pointing out that Stolitz is problematic and toxic and that it shouldn’t be shipped. However these people never really think about the fact that  a) this is only the fifth episode b) where the ship is heading So I’m here to talk about that. What we’ve seen in these first 5 episodes is simply a look at what the relationship between these two is and who they are individually. This episode in particular was great because it pointed out two important things to us: 1. Blitzo doesn’t hate Stolas’ and deep down probably craves some sort of romantic relationship between them 2. The core issues of their current relationship Let me elaborate both of these 1. So far we’ve had the impression that Stolas is simply a nuisance to Blitzo and that he is simply using him for the book. All of their interactions up until this episode we’re pretty negative and made it seem like their relationship is purely sexual and that it exists for business reasons only. Episode 2 let us know that Stolas wants to get Blitzo involved in his life outside of the whole “transactional fucking” thing and this episode let us know that, well, Blitzo really doesn’t mind that. Think back to the first scene in episode 5. If Blitzo only wanted a purely professional relationship with Stolas or even hated him(as some people believe for whatever reason), he wouldn’t have agreed to go to the Harvest Moon Festival. There was nothing for him to gain by going there and he agrees to the invite without any real hesitation. This let’s us know that Blitzo doesn’t hate Stolas and is fine with being involved with him outside of their deal. Now for the “craving for some sort of romantic relationship part”. There are 2 hints about this in the episode. The first one comes in the scene where Blitzo tries to explain his relationship with Stolas to Striker and gets really emberassed. Remember what Striker says: “So you even conned that ditzy blue blood into getting you to the surface.” If this was the case Blitzo probably would’ve been proud of himself and simply confirmed that what Striker just said was true. But that wasn’t what happened. He got flustered and started fumbling his words around. The second hint is in the scene when Blitzo finds out that Striker is planning to assassinate Stolas. Striker tries to get to Blitzo to get him to join his side. He keeps telling him things that clearly bother Blitzo. For example: how the system is rigged against him. In those things he also lists the fact that Blitzo is being treated by Stolas as a toy/plaything. Now, why would Blitzo be bothered by this if his and Stolas’ relationship really is purely transactional. If that were the case then they’re both just using eachother and that’s the end of that. Blitzo is using Stolas for the book and Stolas is using Blitzo for sexual favors. Now weather this is or isn’t the case isn’t important here, what’s important is the fact that Blitzo doesn’t want this to be the case. Aka he wants his relationship with Stolas to be something more.

2. Now let’s look at the core issues of their relationship which are all presented in this episode very nicely. Stolas does a lot of condescending things to Blitzo throughout the episode. He baby-talks to him twice, puts out a cigar on his horn (though we know fire doesn’t hurt imps, it’s still disrespectful), he shows him off in public like he’s some sort of thing, etc. Now let me clear this up first, Stolas’ intentions aren’t malicious. He loves and cares about Blitzo. When it comes to the show, we know this because a) If Stolas just wanted to fuck an imp, he could’ve gone to way less trouble to do so and wouldn’t have to lend out his book which is VERY important b) He wouldn’t try to get Blitzo involved with his personal life and the most important person in his life, his daughter. A parent introducing their SO to their child is a pretty big deal. Now Stolas should’ve considered both Blitzo’s and Octavia’s feelings before doing that however we know that he really isn’t experienced with healthy relationships with other people (romantic and platonic). If we’re talking outside of the show, there are official instagram accounts for all of the Helluva Boss characters. The two most active ones are actually Blitzo’s and Stolas’ (jeez i wonder why). Now these accounts we’re confirmed to not be a 100% canon in the sense that not everything that happens there happened in the actual universe of the show. However Viv has stated that these accounts are ran by people who know all of the characters PRETTY GOOD. And in case you haven’t seen these accounts, Blitzo and Stolas have a lot and i mean A LOT of very positive interactions there. Sure we will occasionally get a horny comment left by Stolas’ on one of Blitzo’s posts or even a horny post of his own regarding Blitzo. But what we see more is just genuine wholesome stuff between the two. For example: Stolas constantly leaving positive comments on Blitzo’s posts such as telling him to have fun when he goes to hang out with either Loona or M&M, him supporting Blitzo’s passion for art and horses, we also get to see him putting up missing posters and searching for Blitzo at one point when Blitzo get’s lost. We see him visiting Blitzo to take care of him when he’s sick,etc. The list goes on and on. Obviously most of this didn’t happen but what’s important is the fact that Stolas clearly cares about Blitzo, like, a lot actually. The show hasn’t gone to this point yet but this is clearly where it’s headed. Plus the official twitter account for Helluva Boss reposts a ton of Stolitz fanart and they don’t do this for other ships, except M&M.

Now back to the issues of the relationship. All of the things I’ve listed (the baby talk, the cigar thing,etc.) wouldn’t seem like much of an issue IF there clearly wasn’t a class difference between them. In this episode the show REALLY let’s us know how bad imps have it. It’s rare to see them start businesses, the system is rigged against them, Stolas is also kind of condescending to them in his speech (though it’s obvious he actually does like imps and he isn’t intentionally being like this. He even calls the Harvest Moon Festival “charming”). I don’t think he realizes how inappropriate his behavior is. I think future episodes will almost a 100% tackle the topic of Stolas’ realizing how different the lives of imps are from his. This will also let him have a better understanding of Blitzo. All of his actions towards Blitzo through the episode, even thought they’re made with good intent, to Blitzo it just seems like Stolas sees him as a toy (even thought this isn’t the case).

In short, on one side we have Blitzo who is craving a romantic relationship (specifically with Stolas) but believes that Stolas is simply using him for sexual reasons and deeply dislikes his unintentionally condescending attitude towards him, and on the other side we have Stolas, who had lead a loveless life for years and has finally fallen for someone but is too blinded by his infatuation for Blitzo and the thrill of love to consider how Blitzo is feeling and the difference between their positions.

Now, this ship is going to be an end game ship a 100%. What we’ve seen so far is only what the starting point of their relationship is. They’re both going to grow as the show goes on and so will their relationship. Stolas will learn to consider other peoples emotions (which isn’t only a problem specifically related to Blitzo but also his daughter), the struggles of imps and how to properly convey his emotions so that Blitzo doesn’t mistake them as purely sexual. And Blitzo will also need to learn how to open up his heart and to stop running away from others (which is something he does I’m assuming, it looks like he ran away from his relationship with Verosika and it seems like their relationship was p serious given the fact she has a tattoo with his name).

Also while I do think Striker and Blitzo have a fun dynamic, I don’t think this is even an option as an end game ship. The sexual tension was high but that’s about it. Plus Striker was trying to manipulate Blitzo which isn’t cool in my book. Not against the ship tho.

So yeah, gonna reblog this when these 2 idiots (stolas and blitzo) get together with a big “told ya so”.

there's a lot of characters tbh, but the most importatn guys are rorik, gustave and niccolo + walter, ambrose and danielle show up quite a lot too. i don't really have one set storyline for them, i mostly just put them in situations and see how it goes

rorik!!! they're the main character of life and usually most of the things happen because of them. they were born around 15th century in what is now belarus as a simple farm girl. their life was pretty fucking shitty for a lot of reason and at this point they dont even remember most of it. they became a vampire frm their own will (and transed their gender in the process) — their spent their whole life being afraid of others and they wanted to make everyone else finally afraid of them. kinda ran out of luck tho 'cause the guy who changed them was The Reason Everything Bad Happens In This Universe aka nikolaj. nikolaj was a weird rich dude who lived way too long for his own good and started to get a little too interested in shady occult stuff and because in this universe the vampire who turned you can have a control over you, after a couple of decades nikolaj found rorik and forced them to join his weird dark magic sect so he could use them as the sacrifice for some demon, idk. it's okay tho, rorik burned his house to the ground and escaped with their new bestie, meg, who was also a part of the sect. they did accidentaly kill some of the other vampires in the fire tho and for that they were punished by the vampire council (that's what the blue mark on their face is!! it's basically a big warning sign to other vampires that ''hey this dude is a killer'')

tbh rorik is a pretty weird guy, they don't talk much and don't reveal any personal things about themselves and all the other vampires have no idea what their deal even is. they're VERY bad at emotions and communication and honestly the less they interact with others, the better they feel. a little stubborn, sarcastic bitch with heart of stone, who can and will claw their way out of anything <33 they're honestly awful and i love them because their whole character is just about being trans and angry. also they're weirdly passionate about interior design and got really into the arts and crafts movement which like good for them for having a non-bloodlust related hobby lmao

GUSTAVE MY MOST BELOVED, he's like a blorbo to me ; ; the only bad thing about him is that he's french, honestly. he was born in the early 18th century and spent most of his human life as a criminal tho he only did any of that to have money for his family. he got hanged for his crimes (i should probably at one point come up with what they were lmao) and then his body was stolen by nikolaj who sadly did NOT die in that fire and his new found hobby was trying to see if he can make already dead people vampires. turns out he can! but he can only do it badly! because gustave's vampire powers don't work as they should (specifically his self-healing doesn't really work so he's almost as vulnerable as any other human would be)

he was pretty religious in his life so he has a lot of the standard ''oh no i'm doomed'' vampire angst going on

but the most important thing is that HE CARES SO MUCH. he's grumpy and brooding and he pretends he doesn't but he cares so!! much!! about every person he comes across with and he would bend over backwards to please other people and he bases his entire self worth on how useful can be. he's not even a person, he's more of a service dog and i love that for him <33

he and rorik have a centuries long on-and-off dynamic where both of them love eachother dearly and understand eachother like no one else can but they also cannot communicate to save their lives which means they're in constant heartbreak, especially gustave who's convinced that rorik actually doesn't care about him that much (which is not at all true djfj). it's great

the manwhore himself, niccolo <33 originally born in an absurdly rich family in 16th century italy, hes like,, a dorian gray type dude? i mean, he only became a vampire because he didn't want to grow old and lose his beauty. tbh his whole deal is that he loves beautiful and expensive things, from art to people and is a shameless hedonist who sleeps around a lot and thinks mostly with his dick. he doesn't even have like, a sad or complicated backstory. the only bad thing that ever happened to him was his romance with the gentle, kind-hearted human painter leander (who i feel kinda bad for cause he didnt deserve any of this) whom he actually loved with his whole heart but then some other vampires killed him because they hated niccolo's guts (he's really annoying so a lot of vampires hate his guts lmao). after leander died, niccolo was so striken with grief, he was unable to do anything and he started feeding on the blood of the already dead which is a big no-no, as it's basically a posion that makes vampires very violent and unable to think clearly

he lived like that for some time then gustave found him in some sewer and took him home and feed rats until niccolo became more. sane

if gustave is the father of the little found family, niccolo is a rat that lives in their house and no one can get rid of. he's honestly mostly there to be annoying and awful and i adore him djfjdfjf

tbf i don't really have much of backstory for danielle yet? which i really need to work on some day because she's really important for a lot of the overarching plots lmao. she became a vampire at 15 and meg (that one friend of rorik's) took her under her wings and they travelled together for some time until meg was killed by some of nikolaj's people. danielle then found rorik so they both could go on their Ultimate Revenge Quest (dragging poor gustave with them)

danielle is filled with the bloodlust and rage only someone who's been 15 for 200 years can be. it's kinda funny 'cause i made her way before the iwtv show came out but she really reminds me of the show's version of claudia

walter and ambrose are a package deal so i'll go over them together. they were born in regency ear england and they were friends since childhood who always loved eachother very dearly and got married when they were relatively young (ambrose is trans, i'm not inventing regency gay marriage tho that would be cool too). they could not be happy for too long tho cause ambrose, in true gothic romance fashion, got tuberculosis and walter could not bear the thought of losing his beloved

one night walter got attacked by gustave who tried to drain his blood but instead walter started pleading gustave to turn him so then he could then turn ambrose and they can be happy forever. gustave thought that bringing eternal damnation on someone is unthinkable but walter was giving a very dramatic speech about love, so he kinda had to give in

walter is the more calm and down to earth one despite the fact the he's a poet and a playwritght while ambrose is the wild spirit, mischevious but in a harmless way. after he became a vampire ambrose basically said fuck it, cut his hair, started dressing as a man and using his current name and also decided that he has to catch up on all the years he spent living as the quiet and calm regency lady so then he spend the next couple of decades getting into all sorts of trouble with usually either walter or gustave (or both) having to bring him out of it. ambrose is also really into sewing and in modern times actually works as a costume designer for historical dramas

okay so. rarijack was like. my first real introduction to gay was via ninjago fanfiction i accidentally stumbled upon, but it wasn't a great fic so i didn't think much of it. then, i found myself shipping rarity and applejack even tho they were both girls. i didn't know why, and for awhile, i just. didn't think about it and simply shipped them. but this has been a comfort ship since 2013. it fills me with great joy and makes me all giddy and flappy hands and like. it's the epitome of opposites attract and being able to love someone... somepony despite being so different, learning to love what they love simply because your partner loves it. it's understanding someone on such a deep level that you can say "honestly, i don't know why you're giving me your frowny eyebrows". like. f r o w n y e y e b r o w s. to know someone so well that you can tell the different moods by their eyebrows. it's being willing to give up what you want for love, wanting the one you love to take care of themself. putting their happiness above your own until they make you take care of yourself... i just. i love rarijack so much. they are everything to me. my internet friend beth made me two rarijack stickers on redbubble and they're my favorite stickers on my laptop.

Today I was looking through the BTS twitter randomly and it was almost jarring how their ot7 fun and silliness dwindled down. They used to all take pictures of/with eachother for fun and seemed so goofy. You could really see their bonds with each other and it was so lovely to witness. I think the pandemic really affected a lot of people and BTS members are human before theyre idols so its understandable even more so for them that they also experienced burn out. I often wonder how hard it must be to have your friendships observed and scrutinized on such a massive scale. For me I used to be relatively extroverted and had a lot of energy. I would always hang out with friends and post all over social media for no reason at all. But with circumstances in my personal life/my mental health I’ve become more introverted and more of a homebody. I also gradually stopped posting on Social media too simply because I didn’t care for it anymore. I still love all of my friends and we’ve grown up with each other, but I’m now in a space where I’ve been relearning who I am, and enjoying my own company. I have the fortune of essentially being a nobody lol and so I can endure this privately. I wonder if BTS members are experiencing growing pains too and how that must feel in the public eye. I know the members all love eachother and relate to eachother in a way that no one else in the world will ever understand, but I do think that their on camera/ social media dynamics have shifted. I used to be very worried about jimin, when he stopped posting I felt so sad and like my heart was in my throat, but If he is going through the same thing I am, I can imagine he must feel at peace just doing his own thing and posting what he wants/when he wants to. I just hope that they’re all doing alright mentally and emotionally

I know, yeah. Obviously the goofiness dies down as you grow older, or you reserve it for when you're around a few close people. Most people make that decision of what parts of themselves they wanna show depending on who they're with. It happens to all of us who are nobodies and don't have much to prove to anyone. BTS have a lot to prove about themselves.. They're pretty, rich and straight men on record, they're privileged but they also have to continuously prove themselves to keep all that. As much as they're steering the wheels on their own lives, they're pretty much also steering the wheels on the other member's lives, professionaly speaking. So, they want to be taken seriously. Personal lives and personal relationships aren't always serious or pretty, tho. So it's understandable they'd show less and less of that as their fame grows. I personally started noticing that a lot in JK and Jimin's "public" image after their 2019 break. I'm sure the other members also went through similar "filtering" of what they posted on social media and what they talked about, but I have to be honest... I wasn't paying much attention to the rest of them, so I only noticed it in JK and Jimin.

There are people who get to keep their riches, their status, their fame and all even while doing whatever, I mean just look at how Kanye is behaving and apart from some viral tweets and memes, nobody is actually crucifying him for acting like an abusive stalker ex husband towards Kim K. For people like BTS tho, one wrong step and it would affect them. They're not the type of celebrities that can get away with murder, in terms of media and in terms of credibility. People would use whatever to discredit them, and even "goofiness" could make others say they're not serious artists. If we, as outsiders can consider all of this, they definitely consider it too.

That's one thing to have in mind. There are other things, too..

Yeah, COVID changed a lot for sure, and as far Jimin goes, I can speak confidently about it because he has said himself that things have changed. In his birthday live last year, people focused on JK being there and how cute and fun it was, but the things Jimin talked about were actually kind of sad. He said he didn't feel close to the fans, and he compared how close he felt in the first years to how he feels now. He's always been very reflexive but in the past year he has talked very especifically about how running helped him not think at all and live healthily. He didn't elaborate but he also said something very sad like "I've been letting go and repeating that process". I'm too lazy to open the live and quote it word by word, but it was something like that. It can't everything be a coincidence... What has been letting go of?

COVID shifted the timeline for them. They've talked before about how they always had their schedules planned a year ahead. If it was May 2017, they already knew exactly what they'd be doing in January 2018. Quarantine and all didn't actually allow them to make long term plans. One of them (I think it was Jimin, actually?) mentioned how last year they had to continuously have meetings to discuss possible concert venues and dates and countries and how it changed accordingly to pandemic restrictions and all that.

So because of everything, because to some extent I understand the feeling of uncertainty, I understand if Jimin wants to "let go" of army and/or BTS as we know it, or if he doesn't feel close to the fans anymore as to actually make an effort to connect with us. Even if it hurts and it is affecting the way I feel about him and the group as a whole, I can't and I have never really judged him for it. Like, yes, I feel miserable because I miss things as they were, and because I have felt the puppy love I felt for him and BTS go from 100 to 40 in the span of like five months, and it's hard to feel excited about the near future whereas BTS is concerned, but in the end my feelings are just mine to deal with. I will just have to adjust... I've been adjusting. I've been feeling "disconnection" between the members and between BTS and us for a long while now, and this break just made it even more obvious for me.

I'm not too concerned with him posting a selfie or not, to be honest. Recently, there was a clip on twitter of him in a 2020 live talking about how he told his friends he wanted to go to the beach and his friends came and picked him up and took him to the beach but there were no waves so they sat by the sea and played wave sounds on their phones while laughing, and I was so warmed by him telling the little anecdote. You don't get that from a picture. Even if he never posts a picture again as long as he lives, I hope he will keep telling those little stories about his life. The other members might post a lot, but you don't actually get them sharing stories about themselves or their loved ones. I'm geniunely afraid that will change too with Jimin. I'm afraid he'll stop sharing stuff like that.

5. 6x22 ‘grave’- i watched buffy for the first time last year at work coz i worked with one other person just packing shit, and THIS was the episode that made us cry infront of eachother. the scene with willow and xander at the end is one of my all time favourite scenes and like legit we were watching and we starting going like ha.. this is so sad Q_Q and we looked at eachother and we were both crying akdjdjsjdhs its SO GOOD, like this is a friendship ive been so invested in and [seeing xander be able to pull her back from that dark place was so heart wrenching and amazing god its so good]

4. 3x12 ‘helpless’ - im finishing up s2 in my rewatch rn so i havent rewatched this one to double check but i remember loving it man. buffys father daughter relationship with giles is my favourite of the whole show they make my heart ache, so i love that this is an episode that really shows you how dedicated giles is to her, [its the breaking point where he finally disregards the fact that hes a watcher and acts as her father once and for all, its a turning point for their relationship where he is finally embracing the fact that shes like a daughter to him and i just love to see it Q_Q get you a dad who will leave his lifes calling for you]

3. 4x22 ‘restless’ - season 4 is interesting coz it has really good episodes and them some gd awful ones 😂😂 but this one just blew me away, i love a good character study episode and this is THE SHIT! its so weird and creepy but in the most perfect way, its not on the nose its so subtle, it feels like an uncanny valley version of buffy almost, i like that they finished the season first and then took this episode to do something out of the box and different i feel like it lets them fully explore this idea without the pressure of needing plot included. [also the cheese man is iconic. dont however like xander being all nasty with willow and tara but whats new there man]

2. 1x12 ‘The Prophecy Girl’ - for my first watch of buffy i wasnt that into the first season, like i enjoyed it but i didnt think it was anything super special? but this episode changed EVERYTHING for me. up until now buffy had been fun, witty, charming, but not anything new atleast for me, maybe in the 90s it was but right now its your average teen supernatural show. but this episode!!!! the emotion! buffy facing her death, her speech about how shes just 16 and shes scared and she doesnt want to die, that is what i wanna see!! its heartbreaking and it made me cry, and then it gives us the wonderful moment of giles trying to take her place and buffy realising that she has to be the one to do it, man its so good! basically anything with buffy and giles being a duo is gonna make it an automatic yes from me and this is indeed the case for this episode, i just love that the show remembers that shes a child! shes not brave all the time, shes not strong all the time, shes just doing her best and sometimes its overwhelming, 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 i bow to this episode

1. 2x17 ‘passion’ - i know i just sang praises about prophecy girl but THIS EPISODE IS THE SHIT, the best episode full stop. i wont accept any argument. angel is probably my favourite big bad, its so funny to see plain bread, mopey brooding angel become this charismatic, funny, poetic, blood thirsty angelus, hes everything i want in a villain and in this episode he delivers! rip jenny tho love her. i think the tension built around angel is so good, because of his drawings and notes left around, every scene youre worrying like is he here now? are they safe or what? its so tense! and also it is me and im a slag for buffy x giles father daughter moments and this episode fucking delivers! giles discovering jennys dead body is probably one of the best scenes on the show, the dramatic irony is heAVY, we know jenny is dead, we know that these flowers arent from her, but giles is so so happy, and i want to see him happy but you just know somehing horrific is about to happen and damn does it. its a masterpiece! i love jenny and giles so much it is so sad, but also the fact that it gave us that scene makes me almmmoost ok with it? i also love the moment where giles breaks down in buffys arms, hes been there for her and now shes returning the favour and hes accepting it i just 😭😭😭 also on a different note, angels narration of this episode is amazing! it gives us great insight to who he is as “evil angel” and like even though hes awful i was also kind of rooting for him coz hes just such a great villain

17. Which characer do you wish had less of a focus on them in the show?

i dont wanna get yelled at butttttt i dont like the amount of focus on dawn. i think it makes sense for the her first season considering the story arc but that season really does double down its focus onto dawn and buffy and it barely leaves room for anyone else to have a storyline, it keeps the episodes super depressing too its like a constant level of just sadness the whole time because we’re so stuck in THEIR arc, theres no room to balance it out and have a breather, some people might like that its more serious but i really really didnt like, i love episodes like prophecy girl where it is campy and brings the more emotional notes in when the time comes, but dawns whole arc is just constantly depressing the whole time i just hate it, and also just shes not a character i felt i could connect to because of how suddenly shes introduced, so its weird to have her SO focused on in the first half of that season coz we dont know her yet so i feel like the emotional moments dont land the way that they should? basically they shouldve eased us into dawn or introduced her differently and maybe i would like her enough to want the focus on her but i really just dont

He sees you suffering and he is big time worried. He tries to motivate you, drag you out of your bed and do something fun or at least go and buy some food. He will get annoying but he can’t just sit there and watch you rot. He is a hands-on guy, he might not understand why you are acting up like this, but at the same time he doesnt know how he can approach you. He will try to hug you tighter and bring you food and water, his shoulders can be a pillow for you to cry all day and night long and his hands are there to wipe off the tears from your face. He hates seeing his bby sad and would give half his Tom Jones memorabilia for you to wake up one day and be your old, happier self ♥

Soldier: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ although his social skills are in scarcity, he isnt a traitor. He sees his S/O down ( mentally) and it pains him to an unimaginable extent  to see you so unmotivated . He doesn't understand why are you sad, what has happened? Did that crazy Kraut touched you? who he needs to snap the neck? He hates seeing you like this. Will be stubborn, just because he doesnt understand something it doesnt mean he can't find a way around. They themselves know that life sometimes just sucks and that its okay not to want to eat or leave your bed. They try helping you do simple things, drink a glass of water, play a bit with their stuffed animals, theyll help you brush your hair or wash your face. They know they baby you, but they think you need a bit more of some more smootches or cuddles. If they see you worsening or being even less active they will drag you their pillowfort and just try to keep you as close them while chanting sweet nothings and sad mumbles, please don’t loose yourself like they did. ♥

Engie: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ he might be a cruel, cold man when hes on the field, but in reallity he is the cinnamon roll meme( he is a cinnamon roll and he might kill you tho but he is mostly a cinammon roll). He knows also that work and his projects take a really big amount of his time so he already feels very guilty. I doubt he has any humanitarian doctorates, but he has an above average understanding of human psychology; whats the point of trying  to emulate life when you cant understand it?He knows he can't address it straightforward, but he needs to get you over this slump before you do something really stupid. Que him cleaning up his workshop and carrying you there bridal style. He has a small nest of pillows and blankets and right next to it his trusted guitar.You have the whole night and the day after to spend it together and get in the bottom of the barrel. Itll be hectic but he is a very patient man and loves ya to bits ♥

For once in his life he doesnt drink and tries to find the rute of the problem, if there is of course or its just pent up anger and frustation with things that have happened in your life now or in the present. In simple, you will talk. For hours if needed. He wont drink a sip becausehe doesnt want to forget even the stupidest detail from your venting. In the end, he will offer you to drink but he will drag you out of the base/ house and make you sit in the front porch/ garden  while he has set up some “ festive” fireworks ( just some small ones that erupt and turn into hearts) . He isnt the ideal psychological perfection, but if you chosed the scottish cyclops for your mate, then he shall go to the man and back just to see you smile one more time. ♥

Heavy: ˜”*°•.˜”*°• he has seen depression and has experienced it himself. It was way too traumatic for a young man to have to support a family without a father figure around. I highly headcanon him to have deppresion hence the sandwich, hes bingining while staying in the battlefield. He doesnt care about the language barrier, in order for the both of you to be as close as you are know, it means you understand eachother to a satysfying extent. He will cook you a very hearty meal and bring it to your bed with a tray and sweet tea. You can eat in silence with him simply staying by your side and rub your back, words can’t potray how he feels right now. Once you finished hell put the dishes outside and simply cuddle you ( being the least cuddly of the mercs, it means a lot). You can nap, cry, trace patterns on his sculp anything really. All his life the main cause of depression was the anarchy surrounding his life, he needs you to feel protected. Medic: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ the most medically, again qualified from the group. so he has at least that covered. He isn’t stupid, you show clear signs of cronic clinical depression ( also known as manic depression) and although it has been a long while before finding a patient to lobotomize, hed be damned if he ever butchered you up like that. He is a healer, even if enjoys his enemies to hurt a little more than they should, and a healer is here to help both the body and the mind. Will persuade you into getting under medication, even if he knows theyll have little to no effecthe just hopes the placebo effect will motivate you. He tries to mix your routine with his, ex. he wakes up really early when you finnaly after hours of insomnia fell asleep, hell tuck you in and kiss your forehead. Throughout the day hell send Scout or Heavy to bring you food or water or your medications. Pyro will be by your doorstep or you side, to keep you company during the day. At night he will carry you to the medbay and do all the talking for you if you dont feel like talking, he will listen to all of your venting. Lowkey will sit you on his lap so he can rub your back and let you cry/ just sit there, to feel his heardbeat on your face and relax. ♥

Spy: (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥     actually he isn’t that mentally mature as much as he strives to be. He has very unhealthy copying mechanisms, he fucks and smokes his torments away, but he also knows different people have different copying mechanism and he cant judge how people seek comfort. He doesnt know how to help yo, he really does but he doesnt know. He is nervous but he will probably suggest you two take a vacation away, together. He has planned it all fancy and nice, and pretty much has scanned the whole place/ area/resort you are staying and having “ friends” around. He doesnt care if you just stay all day in the resorts pool and just chill around drinking pina coladas. In the middle of your vacations, he will take you to a more secluded area and will open up about his issues , not about your relationship but about him as a person. He has many issues and he is a very difficult person to be around, so you haveto know he will never judge you. But he also doesnt know how to help you. This will make you hug him and you two can finnaly have a good, well-earned cry. Kiss him on the nose or on his head and tell him how much all this means to you and he will cry you a river and hold you till the dayhe dies, how can someone so late in his life means so, just so damn much? ♥

House of Hades review

From the Heroes of Olympus. 

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE : 

- Jiper. I never liked this relationship, I don’t even understand their dynamic or why they like eachother so much, sometimes it just feels like it’s because they find eachother pretty and that’s it. Also they tend to bring the worst out of eachother, which could actually be interesting if it was done on purpose but since it’s not it’s just bad. By that mean I mean Piper charming up Jason when he so much as thinks about another girl who happens to have a crush on him. Her tendency to use her charm speak is really worrying at times, how she uses it on her friends and even boyfriend so casually like that’s mind control !!! And he thinks it’s “fair game” which NO it’s not it’s extremely messed up to be that insecure that you feel that you have to brainwash your boyfriend to make sure he doesn’t leave you. Ask Voldemort. Also there is the fact that Jason actually KNEW about Reyna’s feelings for him. I don’t blame him for not outright rejecting her because come on that’s an extremely awkward conversation to have, especially with someone you’re supposed to work with everyday to lead people. But like, I already thought he was an asshole because the first thing he said to Reyna when he came back after months of dissapearing was that he wanted to make his girlfriend visit New Rome. Now it just makes it worse. 

Frank’s physical change. It was just so unnecessary and...kind of send bad messages. What was so interesting about Frank was that he was NOT a stereotypical Ares kid, he even hated the idea of being one at first. Him being all chubby added a lot to his character and it’s really disappointing that now he’s super athletic and I’m so tired of the “he has to physically change and become more of a stereotypical hot dude to complete his arc” . 

Hazel’s magical powers. Look i wouldn’t say I HATE it but I just don’t see the point of it? It doesn’t add anything to her character, only powering up more even tho she was already far enough powered up already imo. I think maybe it would have been more interesting to give this arc to Piper since it’s in line with her Charm Speak. 

The lack of Nico x Leo. Yeah yeah I know it will never happen but at least one conversation between them could have been so interesting? Like this two are so alike in so many ways! They both have extreme self worth issues and see themselves at the outcasts. They both have a tendency to run away (Leo mentionned that in his first chapter in the lost hero) and hiding their feelings. They both lost their only family and have a lot of trauma. Also they both are real sweet boys inside even though they don’t like to show it too much (let’s not forget Nico was the only one who was nice to Hestia and Bob, and Leo really did something so kind for Frank there). So they could understand eachother like no one else could, but also bring eachother something because they have both different ways of coping with that : Leo is desperate to belong, being the joker and doing everything he can to be useful to the point he doesn’t think anyone would like him for him if he wasn’t all that so he kind of has to play a role in his mind, while Nico just withdrawns himself and rejects everyone around him. They could really balance eachother out. Like imagine their relationship development, going from dislike, Leo being creeped out by Nico and Nico finding his jokes annoying, but then they get to talk and realize they’re not so different and...I’m so frustrated we didn’t get that!!! (PS : if you know a fic where that happens during HoH please give me the link!!)

- It was too short to have 7 POV. Well actually, this is more of a compliment because that means I love the characters so much and I wanted to see more of them. But that almost means that each character didn’t have that much screen time in they POV which made their developemnt in there pretty rush. 

Coach Hedge. Look, I really liked him getting more depth with his girlfriend being pregnant and his dead mother but all along the book i couldn’t help but wonder...What is he good for? Why is he even here? I mean he’s supposed to be the protector right? But like, it’s always the kids (the KIDS) who have to take care of him and handle him so he doesn’t do anything stupid. So he’s supposed to be the protector but he never does anything useful, in fact he always finds a way to make the situation worse like when he makes Jason lose his sword because he wanted to beat up a giant turtle so bad. He never helps when it comes to plan because the only thing he says is that he wants to fight even though honestly he’s the weakest of them all. I mean maybe he’ll finally do something useful in the final book, who knows? I still liked knowing he’s the one who brough Clarisse to camp, though, makes so muchs sense...

THINGS I LIKED : 

- The POV characters. I loved seeing more of Frank, finally, when he was in the background in the last book, and I loved seeing his development and him being more and more of a leader. Of course I loved Percy, Annabeth and Leo that’s a given. Even though her new powers annoyed me, I still enjoyed Hazel’s POV because she’s still very interesting to follow and I love the way she thinks, she’s very clever. I also liked Piper’s chapter yeeeeaaaaahh !!! And same for Jason, FINALLY AFTER FOUR BOOKS I ACTUALLY LIKE HIM (because he finally has a personality) !!! This two can become very interesting once they stop being so wrapped up around eachother. Like Jason’s struggle between his Roman side and Greek side was really cool to follow, and Piper showing how badass she can be but always wanting to be more? Yes I like that ^^

- Friendships !!! Friendships !!! Finally !! Yeah I was glad this book focused a bit more on friendships than the last one. I loved the Jason x leo stuff, how Jason really seems to admire Leo and how he was the only who realized how sad Leo were after Calypse. Leo x Hazel finally became a friendship instead of the weird thing they had going on thanks god. Leo confectioning something to protect Frank’s staff was so adorable and kind of him like that’s my sweet boi !! I LOVE the potential of Jason x Nico and also maybe Frank x Nico. Piper crying and hugging Annabeth when they are reunited awwww !! And Piper and Hazel bonding over Hazel learning Piper how to fight and Piper helping her with her magic I really liked that  (even though I would have like it better if Rick would have showed it instead of just telling us about it). Even Frank and Hedge were pretty heartwarming. 

- The Tartarus plot. WOW. It was just...WOW. It was so well written from start to finish, i could feel the horror of this place and how it changed Annabeth and Percy (especially Percy) which was so interesting. Of course the Percabeth moments gave me life. And like...the monsters that give them curses when they die, Nyx, The Nice Titan and The Nice Giant, Tartarus himself...It was just all so good and hurt in the best of way. The “Bob says hello” went straight to my heart. Favorite part of the book. 

Caleo : Do i think they should have had more time to develop if Leo is supposed to be THAT in love? Yes. Do i think Nico x Leo would have been so much better and interesting and had so much more potential especially at a slow burn romance where they both become best friends and fall in love in this book but are to afraid to admit yet (again, please give me a link if you know a fic that does that)? Also yes. But I have to admit, they were hella cute. I liked their dynamic (we’re all sluts for ennemies to lovers, no?), and i get how Calypso can be good for Leo : she also has abandonment issues and they work very well together, she’s not afraid to tell him off and he really seems to have grown up after meeting her (and getting his first kiss, which again : hella cute). And I also see how he can be good for her : he’s not like the other Stereotypical Hero she met on her Island, she actually had to get to know him instead of falling in love instantly, and got more in touch into her more mischevious side which I liked to see. Also if he does come back to her (and I better hope he does because he deserves it), that could be an adorable scene and they could have their shop they talked about and...Yeah I like them. 

NICCOOOOOO : my baby death boy finally got more screen time and damn it was so good. Of course there was the Cupid Scene. I didn’t like how he was basically forced to come out but I still loved the intensity of this scene, and the revelation that he was in love with Percy and he hated himself because of that? My baby needs a hug (and while it hurt, it was also pretty funny in the end how Percy was so confused about Nico’s aptitude towards him, always and forever oblivious to when someone has a crush on him). But also that makes so much sense. His relationship with Jason? Loved it, loved how Jason gave him advice about opening up more to people (and I totally relate to Nico, I’d much rather raise the dead and hide in hell than doing that) while still being kind of scared of him but wanting to be supportive and seeing how this child fucking needs therapy !! I can’t wait for Nico to finally feel like he belongs (which he would have with Leo!!!!). Nico x Hazel has my heart, their dynamic is just so fucking sweet, like even though she doesn’t totally understands him because he still keeps her at arm lenghts, you can see she loves her brother so much and it’s clear it is mutual. Like forehead kiss my heart (forehead kisses are a weakness of mine) !!!! The scene of him and Frank sharing their interest about Mythomagic was so pure and broke my heart at the same time, I mean like Percy said he’s not that little kid insouciant kid anymore :(  (also props to Percy for not being an ass to him which doesn’t really happen often). Anyway I LOVED seeing more of him. He’s such a great and interesting character and i love him so much. Also of course, like always, he was a total badass and I have to asmit, even though I want him to belong, it was kind of amusing how this scrowny, pale and needy of sleep 14 years old terrified the all powerful demi gods on the ship (well ok he is the most powerful of them all but still). His vibe is just that good. But I really want him to have this someone who manages to make him slow down his walls, you know? (even if it’s not Leo snif). 

So that was it. I don’t know it that’s ineresting for anyone but I like to vent so ^^

im not one for reboots, but gossip girl has a special place in my heart. like it was bad in a lot of ways, but i will love it forever bc i was really into it during a formative period of my life and it's literally what made me realise im attracted to girls.

when i saw there was going to be a reboot i thought "how annoying. it doesn't need i reboot, it was already perfect. ... the only thing that could possibly be better is to make it a lot gayer." and then i watched the trailer and apparently they made it a lot gayer. okay. you have my attention.

so i watched the first ep and i really want to talk about it but i don't want to get too involved with the fandom bc i can already tell there's gonna be a lot of people with annoying opinions. so im just gonna monologue about it on my own blog every week. if you don't follow me, dni if you disagree with me.

ok here's all my thoughts:

i really enjoyed it!! i've seen people say it's not as good as the og and: the og wasn't as good as you remember it and/or you went into this with the wrong expectations. it's a fucking reboot. the trick is to expect any reboot to be shit and then be pleasantly surprised at everything they do well.

the teachers have already done some fucked up shit and poorly tried to justify it. perfect. i hope every nice character becomes morally corrupt and everyone does some truly awful shit. this is why im watching.

i really like zoya but tbh i don't have a lot to say about her. she's our new jenny. she's good and a bit naive and she'll have a curruption arc. even her dad is so much like rufus. she didn't get any of the spinelessness early jenny had tho and i love that for her! + she got all of dan's protagonist vibes. good for her. i like her better.

max inherited chuck's bastard manwhore energy and i love him.

audrey having a whole "we've known each other forever. this friend group sticks together. we trust each other!!" drama while max is clearly trying to make her cheat on her boyfriend is soo funny. he's like "yeah exactly!" *does the number one thing that breaks up friend groups*

max Also trying to seduce aki is the best thing added to that situation. he's breaking that couple up from both sides. fr tho instead of cheating they're going to have a threesome and then the drama goes from there. (i've already seen people on here dislike audrey bc she's standing between a m/m ship v.v i hope the show doesn't do her dirty)

aki's such a quiet, putting other people's needs above his own type. i love him. can't wait to learn how immensely repressed he is <3

also "i don't like sticking out" DUDE YOU DYED YOUR HAIR PINK?? but yeah this one shirt is too flashy..

julien is a lot like serena in that she's the nice popular girl. she's hiding a lovable down-to-earth side to be the person people admire, but she's also hiding an egotistical attention-loving side to keep up the rep of being nice - not just to others but to herself as well. as opposed to serena she's overt about caring about and planning out her image. she's a lot more like blair in that way.

i find it interesting that monet and luna don't make a fuss about julien being the queen b. there's no power struggle or bitterness, they're genuinely good with eachother (as far as i can tell so far at least) and i really like that. blair's minions were always unimportant minor characters that got pushed to the side. monet and luna are not like that at all and i like that a lot better!

speaking of monet, she has the exact evil girl vibe i loved blair for. i don't know a lot about her yet, but i know i will be SO in love with her.

i feel like monet and luna were functionally basically the same so far, but somehow monet sticks out more to me? was that just me? will she be more important? will they turn out to be quite different once we get to know them better?

i curious to see where their dynamic is heading generally. im definitely putting my early bets on that there will be some monet/luna. im just really hoping they make it good and interesting. and im hoping it's a serious couple with chances for endgame and not a b-plot for half a season or smth. honestly, they could be soo good and exactly my taste, but im scared to get my hopes up and be disappointed ...

almost forgot to talk about obie. uuuh he'll turn out to be a terrible hypocrite obviously. while aki got all of nate's genuinely lovable parts, obie got the parts that seem nice but then you get reminded that he's still a very privileged, very rich kid. i already said this, but i really hope the show never tries to portray anyone as a genuinely good person. this isn't supposed to really be about social issues, those topic just get mentioned to remind us that they're all actually terrible people. like yea im watching bc im invested in their relationship drama. they're still all entitled rich kids tho <3

oh also i Love the way they incorporated the old show's canon. the fact that it all actually happened in their world takes the pressure off recreating the part that wouldn't work nowadays. the fact that the teachers are literally in-universe trying to recreate gossip girl and just going with what works makes it make sense. also that scene where they're reading the blog and mention all the wildly unrealistic stuff that happened was soo funny like "woow ... can believe this actually happened??" like yeah.

just noticed there is no dan in this show. good. fuck dan. while we're at it, i hope there'll be a georgina.

so yeah i enjoyed it. really intrigued by the characters so far. hope they make it interesting. hope they don't fuck up the overall vibe.
