Do you have a source for the Brazilian courts demanding personal information of the posters? I haven't been following the story very closely, but everything I've seen has only talked about censorship, which Mush already did for Turkey last year.
I haven't been following it closely either- I'm just going off this post, by someone I don't know and whose objectivity I distrust. They claim that the new Brazilian government had a Jan 6-style failed coup attempt by their far right, and that their Supreme Court ruled that the social media platforms the participants used to coordinate the attempt were required to hand over all their information about the attackers so they could be prosecuted. Purportedly, Musk said no, this obviously violated the laws that said he had to do it, and there is now a legal snafu of some sort.
I don't expect OP to have been lying about most of this, because they're arguing that the demands were justified- but I also can't find a source on that specifically, yeah. The news stories I'm seeing only mention that they demanded that some number of users' accounts should be suspended due to "spreading misinformation". I'm not sure if the link between the riots (which happened) is as direct as OP is implying, but it seems plausible.
Regardless, communications platforms should not be legally liable for speech hosted on them, and even though the rioters in question probably should be arrested, demanding that Twitter be involved in this process and taking retaliatory action against them for noncompliance is- and I believe this is the technical term- "some real bullshit".
If web platforms can be held responsible for anything any government decides is "misinformation", then you have a serious problem the next time you get a Bolsonaro. You don't want Twitter to cave to these sorts of orders. This was the correct move.
...And, as you note, the move Musk did not make when Erdogan demanded the same thing in 2023. One would hope that this is him regretting that decision and opting to do better this time, but more realistically he's just less principled than he likes to think and makes these decisions mainly on the basis of culture war grudges and how personally pissed off he happens to be today.

Help I can't stop thinking about the Dark Fantasy Fae AU.
There were a lot of things Ray could have never imagined when he married Rose. Moving out of their shabby little apartment into their house after a series of in hindsight rather telling instances of good luck. Their two amazing kids, who were so smart and talented and kind, who seemed to take all the things he loved in their mother and made it their own.
Losing her so young, he'd never imagined that.
And he really couldn't have predicted the four children that landed in their garage through a magical mushroom portal from a fairy realm.
Still, all things considered, Ray thought he was handling things rather well. He did have a very long phone call with Rose's very ancient grandmother, who told him she knew that when he took her name, he'd do the Molina family proud. Abuelita didn't know how much was myth and how much was family legend and how much was real, but the fact that the fae existed was pretty hard to question after the whole magic portal thing.
He stopped overwatering the plants overnight.
Now, the hardest part was helping the kids adjust to modern day life. Reggie was the easiest, considering he'd only lost about twenty-five years. He was a sweet boy, though a little jumpy at times. Alex was from the 1920s and while he still struggled a little with modern slang, he mostly seemed very grateful at the strides that had been made by the queer community, that allowed him to be who he was and love openly.
Luke was a bit trickier. He was distraught at losing his family, of course. He seemed to take to some aspects of modern times like a fish to water - the first time Julie showed him an electric guitar, Luke looked like he was having a religious experience. But Ray had had to pull him out of the road several times already to make sure he didn't get run over by a car, and then there had been the whole Tinfoil In The Microwave experience.
Willie was the trickiest. Ray had no idea how long he'd been in the fairy realm, given that he'd been switched out with a changeling at birth. But he had no real concept of how the human world worked, save for what he'd picked up from the other three boys. But some days, he seemed more fae than human, confused that Carlos couldn't just levitate to grab something off the top shelf, or that other people couldn't teleport short distances.
Which was what made this conversation so difficult.
"Fix, please," Willie had announced, before carefully settling a dead bird on the dining room table next to Ray's laptop.
The dad part of Ray's brain was already making a list of what needed to happen - get Willie to wash his hands, thoroughly clean the table- when the rest of his mind caught up with the request.
"She flew into a window," Willie said sadly, gently stroking the feathery head, and Ray felt a pang. This was going to be a very difficult conversation. One he remembers vividly having with Carlos when he was four (it had been a torn ladybug) and Julie when she was five (when Flynn's grandmother passed away).
"I- I'm afraid I can't do that," he said.
Willie's face twisted into a confused pout. "But I said please," he pointed out. They'd been working on... well, not so much manners as human mannerisms.
"Yes, and that was very polite," Ray said slowly, trying to figure out how to formulate this without being too harsh. "But I am unable to fix a dead robin."
"Please? I'll do all the cooking and the dishes for a whole..." Willie's face screwed up. Time was another thing they were working on. The entire concept of it seemed to upset him. "Year?"
"Willie," Ray said, gently herding him to sit down. "It's not that I don't want to help the bird. This isn't a deal you can trade for. There is nothing left for me to do to help the bird. Humans cannot fix death."
"Death?" Willie echoed, his voice small and uncertain. Ray nodded sympathetically.
"I'm sorry, there's no fixing the bird," he said slowly. "When something is dead, it cannot be brought back."
"No!" Willie wailed, distraught. "She just made a mistake! It's not fair!"
"Oh, mijo, I know it's not," Ray soothed, pulling him into a hug. "Death often doesn't seem fair." He let Willie cry, rocking him slightly. The sound summoned Alex, who took over, pulling Willie into a hug until they were sprawled on the floor, Willie curled up in his lap.
Ray tried not to focus on the dead bird on the table. He wanted to get it out of the house as soon as possible, but right now, Willie's feelings were more important.
"We can hold a funeral for her," he promised. "Bury her in the garden. That way, she can become one with the earth again, and help the plants grow." He thought that idea might make Willie feel a little better. The boy looked at him with big, not-entirely-human eyes, his lower lip trembling.
"It's the circle of life," Alex agreed. "Remember, like that song from the movie Julie and Flynn showed us."
"A funeral means burying her in the garden?" Willie asked, looking between them.
"A funeral is a ceremony to honour someone's life and say goodbye," Ray explained. Willie understood ceremonies, at least. "We can say a few words, and then bury her."
"Luke can sing a song," Alex said. "Birds like songs, right?"
Willie nodded, sniffling.
Ray squeezed his knee, and stood up. "I'll go get a nice box to bury her in." That seemed to upset Willie, and he shook his head fiercely.
"No dark rooms!" he insisted.
"How about some nice soft paper towels?" Alex suggested quickly. He also looked a bit nauseated at the thought of a dark room. Sometimes, Ray thought he'd never get to the end of the horrors those boys had gone through. He nodded, and went to get some gloves and a whole roll of paper towels.
Alex and Willie stayed on the floor, Alex gently rocking them back and forth while Willie ran his fingers through his long hair. "You're not allowed to be dead," Willie told Alex seriously. "I can't fix you."
"I'll do my best not to die," Alex promised. "I'm never going to leave you."
"If you do die, you have to come back as a ghost," Willie insisted. "No burying in the garden. We will be ghosts together. Like in Carlos' videos."
Alex smiled softly, and Ray tried not to tear up at the all-encompassing love and tenderness he saw in the boy's face, so young yet old and wise beyond his age. "Yeah, okay."

hi this is your local car enthusiast reminding you that if you want to drive in a sustainable way, the best thing you can do is maintain your current vehicle for as long as physically possible, and if it dies on you, buy a used car with decent-to-good gas mileage. if possible, learn manual.
EVs are usually powered with lithium ion batteries, which is of debatable environmentalfriendliness and rife with human rights abuses. needless to mention that the US already produces an insane amount of waste and people buying new, expensive EVs en masse will make this issue even worse. simply put, in the vast majority of cases, you, as an individual, will produce less waste and pollution by keeping your current vehicle as opposed to buying a new EV.  EV sales are dependent on well-intentioned people who care about the environment not researching what they’re buying. governments & companies are advertising them and making laws in favor of them because they’re making money, not because they’re good. do not fall victim to consumerism. they are banking on you not knowing any better.

Affordable High-Speed Fun: Best Budget Electric RC Cars
Introduction to Fast Electric Remote Control Cars
When choosing the ideal RC car for your needs, there are various key factors to take into account. These include the power source, size, construction quality, and brand reliability. Additionally, keep in mind that the intended use of the car - whether for on-road or off-road racing - greatly affects its overall speed and maneuverability.
Here are a few other aspects to keep in mind.
Although the excitement of racing RC cars at high speeds is unquestionable, prioritising safety should always be a priority.
It is important to carefully select designated areas for operating these cars, keeping them away from crowded places to avoid potential accidents.
Additionally, ensuring that your RC car receives regular maintenance and inspections is crucial in guaranteeing safe and enjoyable use. By routinely cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting your car, you can prolong its lifespan and improve its performance.
Upgrading key components such as the motor, battery, and tires can also enhance its speed and overall functionality, maximizing the value of your investment.
Consider installing a more powerful motor, adjusting the gearing ratio, and opting for high-capacity batteries. Additionally, upgrading the tires and suspension can enhance the car’s grip and stability, leading to improved speed and performance.
It’s essential to note that while modifications can enhance performance, they may also increase wear and tear on the vehicle. Therefore, regular maintenance and careful tuning are crucial to ensure both speed and longevity.

Maintenance and Care for High-Speed RC Vehicles
Regular maintenance and servicing are essential for maintaining optimal performance of any RC car.
Despite their sturdy design, proper upkeep is necessary for these cars. This includes basic tasks such as cleaning, checking screws and bearings, greasing them, and replacing worn out parts.
After driving, it is crucial to clean the car thoroughly. For dusty conditions, compressed air or a soft brush and damp cloth can be used. Extra care should be taken when cleaning around the bearings to prevent faster wear and tear caused by dirt and dust.
Please note: Do not clean the car with running water. Once finished, be sure to inspect all components for any looseness, particularly the screws on the servo arm, steering linkage, lower shock absorbers, suspension arms, and upper links.
These screws are subject to movement while driving and may become loose. Gently tighten them using the appropriate tool - over-tightening can cause damage to the threads.
After inspecting the bearings, it is important to also check their condition. Pay attention to any excess play in the wheel bearings, as this can cause the tires to wobble.
If you notice an increase in play after driving, it may be a sign of wear and tear on the bearings. This can lead to decreased spinning of the wheels and put strain on the motor.
To prolong the life of your bearings, make sure to regularly clean and lubricate them, especially after wet driving conditions. A few drops of oil is all that is needed for proper greasing. Keep in mind that outer bearings tend to wear out quickly and should be replaced promptly when necessary.
Additionally, you can test the drive train bearings by gently wiggling the outdrive and observing any play between them. Rolling the chassis on a desk should also be smooth and quiet without any resistance or noise.
Superficial cleaning and inspection are enough with the electric components. It’s good to check that the speed controller’s fan works and can spin freely. Also check that all the components are not coming loose. Check that all the wires are undamaged and that they’re not getting in the way of the drivetrain.

2023 Toyota Crown Overview
Toyota Crown, a new high-riding sedan with the shape of a hatchback (though it has a conventional trunk), hybrid-only powertrains and truly funky styling. Toyota often plays it too safe with its new vehicles, so it's nice to see the company really swinging for the fences with the Crown.
t has been 50 years since Toyota last sold its Crown sedan in the U.S., but the model was introduced in Japan in 1955 as the Toyopet Crown. It has been Toyota's mainstream sedan there ever since, the choice of families, executives, taxi drivers, and police.
The 2023 Crown, now in its 16th generation, is back in the States as the three-trim, all-hybrid, all-wheel-drive, tall-roofed, fastback-styled four-door replacing the venerable Toyota Avalon sedan. It is almost the same size, inside and out, as the Honda Accord and Volkswagen Arteon sedans.
The Crown's tall roofline and high seating position have generated some debate. But there's no denying that it is eye-catching, especially in the optional two-tone color scheme available with the top Platinum trim.
By positioning the Crown as a premium model, Toyota is telling shoppers that this is a special vehicle, not to be confused with other midsize sedans. By offering two hybrid powertrains, one of them more performance-oriented, Toyota hopes the Crown will appeal to those seeking fuel efficiency and creature comforts as well as those hoping for a bit of twisty country road fun.
We found that generally, it succeeds but still falls short on driving excitement, even with the 340-horsepower hybrid system and adaptive suspension that come exclusively with the Platinum trim.
Competition in the non-luxury large sedan segment is almost gone. Three rivals — the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Nissan Maxima — are being discontinued in 2023. That leaves the Accord Hybrid and VW Arteon. Some shoppers might consider the Genesis G80, Audi A6, and Volvo S90 mild hybrids, all of which cost more and aren't likely to be cross-shopped with the Toyota Crown. Based on appearance and premium content, though, the Crown can proudly hold its head high in that crowd.
All the Platinum's performance enhancements come at a serious penalty to fuel economy. Toyota estimates this version of the Crown will return 27 mpg in combined driving — a fairly unimpressive figure compared to other sedans with non-hybrid powertrains. The current Avalon V6, for instance, produces a bit less power and has a 26 mpg combined estimate, as does the BMW 540i with its marginally less potent turbocharged inline-six. On paper, the Crown Platinum's powertrain seems heavy and overengineered without much benefit to the driver compared to other options.

You will not get letting a machine drive for me while there are people driving other cars (besides that I won't drive an electric car until battery tech is way better and when most energy is generated by a clean dispatchable energy source like nuclear power)
The fact that Tesla autopilots abort self driving 1 second before a crash so the company can state “self driving wasn’t active during the collision” should be grounds to dismantle the entire company.
Like, seriously, if you’re making 4000 pound death machines, and you program this shit to work on a technicality? Your company should be dismantled. Gone. No recourse. Just terrible shit dude
