So it's understood that Kayne's name is Harlan's middle name. I believe most people assume that's just like an easter egg or an easy name. But I think Kayne specifically chose it cuz he's aware this is a podcast and he himself knows of Harlan and knowingly denoted himself with Harlan's middle name.

He is aware of the narrative and can actively manipulate it. I already think that he's aware of the episode titles, since he directly references Coda's name. Says the word Malevolent twice, once as Malevolent entity, which he's been called in non-canon stuff. And that Harlan is very sparing of how much out of canon stuff he's in (not allowing him to be chosen for Patreon bonuses, and have we ever heard him in spooky streams?)

I theorize that Kayne can in some ways step out of canon, and he is fully aware that this is a podcast, it's voted on and even Harlan's middle name. And Benevolent was him stepping outside of canon for a bit of fun. This also explains his attitude towards John & Arthur

I think the devs really understimated how much "peer-pressuring someone into inhabiting a body they don't want nor like under the pretense that it is for their own good" could make a character unlikable among the queer community.

here's something: if a teenager shows up at my house, I give them MORE candy. First of all, 6yos don't need that much candy. Second, they have those teen metabolisms, they NEED the sugar. Third, you're a teenager and you're still dressing up and knocking on doors! I love you!! hold onto 16 as long as you can!!

gareth david-lloyd is such a wonderful voice actor. i keep rethinking of his reading of the line "i will always go where you go." and it sounds so resigned and pained, like already solas knows he is going down a path that will lead to death and horror but his friend needs him, the people need him. they need his wisdom and guidance, and he knows taking on a physical form will not only be his undoing, but that of the world as he knows it. but still he goes, because duty comes above all.
