it’s so fascinating to me how chopper could give such a deeply cryptic description of ben and still obviously have feelings for him. i don’t know whose words to trust. is chopper being honest in saying that ben isn’t all that he seems? or is he saying that out of jealousy to discourage nueng from pursuing ben? or is he saying it to save face, perhaps chopper had more to do with their falling out than he lets on? regardless, they sure have a VERY complicated relationship.
chopperben is an interesting pairing to compare to palmnueng, whose relationship is new and their intentions and feelings towards each other are plain as day. meanwhile, chopperben have a murky history, and both have been nice so far but could possibly have ulterior motives for their kindnesses. like, are we rooting for them? are we not? i genuinely cannot tell.

That berm along this side of Plot 420′s fence is from the hairy vetch we planted as a nitrogen fixer & pollinator attractant. We discovered the berm after removing the vetch once it had gone to seed & died back. Apparently, we can add erosion control and water retention (since the berm channels water back into the garden) to the list of great stuff that hairy vetch does in the garden:
