01.08.30 - my daily routine

I spend most of the day at home by myself.

I take Rey to school. Mom goes to work. Dad works remotely, but he usually goes to his office (his “office,” of course, being the Falcon, which he keeps at a rented docking bay about ten minutes away from here).

Mom calls me every day on her lunch break to check on me. I guess I don’t mind.

I’m working on my job hunt, but it’s so kriffing discouraging. I must’ve sent out like five-hundred applications by now, and at this point I get excited about rejection letters because I’d rather hear something back rather than nothing.

I try to get outta the house once in a while. I’ve found a new gym to go to. I’ve chatted with a few people on CoPilot—that’s the dating app that I am using to not date. But, it feels kinda weird, intentionally starting conversations with strangers in the express hope and expectation that you get along. I still have friends offworld: Amalia, Treeso, Poe. But, I find it so difficult to keep in touch with people over messaging—I wanna find some friends here.

Ha! Imagine that—me, saying I want to make friends! I’m so different from seven years ago.

And yet—in some ways—not.

We have family dinner on Sunday nights. On the other days, everyone just kinda pops in the kitchen and eats when they wanna. Mom used to cook for the family—you see, both my parents suck at cooking, but Dad’s cooking sucks enough to be lethal.

But, now I’m doing the cooking, and the fare at our family meals is actually tolerable. Chef Ben, at your service.

Since, you know. I ain’t got nothin’ better to do.

I try to go to bed at a decent hour, even though I don’t have a work schedule anymore. But—get this—I don’t sleep in my own room. I sleep in my parents’ room on an air mattress.

I used to sleep in my parents’ room when I was a little kid, because of the nightmares. But when I reached a certain age, they told me I had to sleep in my own room from then on.

Well—now it’s the same, but opposite. Since I told Mom about Snoke visiting me in my dreams, she wants me to stay close to her and Dad at night.

And that’s why I’m twenty-four and have to sleep in the same room as my parents.

Embarrassing. Not to mention I must be really killing their sex life. Not that I like thinking about my parents getting it on—but, I did try to make that appeal. As a last resort.

Mom said I didn’t need to worry about that—and, now that I think of it—that’s probably why she and Dad come home from work together sometimes, half an hour later than expected, and looking a little too happy to have come straight from their jobs.

Gross.

Cleo and Manny moved to Brindleton Bay after deciding it was a better move for their family and careers. Manny has never lived outside the West Coast and is a little apprehensive, but he managed to get a promotion that allowed him to relocate!

Even the bag guys need a place to unwind in between episodes. These guys are all regulars here, even if some of them often question why they come.

This one was for my partner! He asked this little scene from an AU we have.

Very short context for this particular scene: Anakin survives ROTJ to b come the most bonkers dad and then grandpa ever, which means the whole Sequels timeline gets a bit to the left (or more like a 180° shift), Rose builds what's basically an UFO and, accidentally, it's so dangerous and intuitive that only a force sensitive can fly it.

Luke, like usually, is pretty much amused. Poe and Ben are...confused.

Just a little reminder

That this little boy is going to suffer the most horrifying traumas of his life before hitting 18. Living without parents since childhood. His uncle was shot and died in front of him. His mentor saved the world and died in front of him. His aunt was murdered and died in his arms. And his best friend and girlfriend alongside the rest of the world will forget him, leaving him all alone with no one to love or care for him.

We have seen Peter Parker in Gotham, now I propose Nightwing in No Way Home.

Dr. Strange's spell brings Peter alternate versions of himself, villains and... some guy no one has ever heard of? The hero identifies himself as Nightwing and is willing to help in exchange for help getting back to his home world. His home world is also apparently pretty different because he doesn't recognize a lot of important stuff? Weird.

(Yes, I know that is not how the spell worked in the film. Maybe it attempted to pull in another Peter, but because he didn't exist in the DC universe, it garbed the next best thing, Peter's dad.)

Eventually they have a Dick = Richard Parker realization. Maybe Aunt May is the one who puts it together? I think it would be funny if Dick just did something so him, and May just immediately clocks Nightwing as her brother in law. Maybe May can even live in this universe because Dick was also there and was able to save her?

At the end Strange is going to have to make everyone forget Peter, but Dick steps in and says, "how about we don't do that and instead he comes back to my home universe with me?"

May comes along too because she is not forgetting her nephew, nor is she going to abandon him to another world even if she does trust Dick. We can add even more drama to their arrival in Gotham if we make Jason = Uncle Ben.

This iconic street is not always so peaceful. Sometimes troublemakers, like these boys, come around and cause ruckus. If I was Hancock me and the other companions would have been fighting cause everyone has something to say about how awful Goodneigbor. One of you was literally living there cause he’s a broke bitch. One was living in a raider shit hole, half of y’all don’t live anywhere or in bigotry town and then there’s fucking Strong.

Like at least Goodneighbor is tight knit and the drugs are free like sorry your house/settlement is boring me and Hancock are gonna go get fucked up and find a dead historical figure’s old fit for me this time.
