**PERSONAL LOG - MILES QUARITCH**
*Date: ××, ××, 2144
**Encounter Report: Y/n Aysara - Na'vi Individual**
Tonight's shift took an unexpected turn with the unanticipated entrance of Y/n Aysara, a Na'vi individual, into the watchtower premises.
**Initial Observations:**
Y/n Aysara displayed signs of distress and aggression upon entering. Communication attempts proved futile initially due to language barriers.
**Communication Facilitation:**
Utilizing the translation app on the tablet, Y/n Aysara revealed affiliation with Eywa and expressed intent to teach Na'vi culture. A peculiar choice of instructor, considering my position.
**Physical Examination:**
Distinct physical features noted: four ears, two tails, and luminescent patterns on the skin. Silver eyes suggest potential nocturnal adaptation.
**Sanitation Assistance:**
Noticed motor oil contamination on Y/n Aysara. Offered water and a makeshift cloth for cleansing, revealing an aversion to motor oil.
**Language Exchange:**
Engaged in linguistic exchange facilitated by the tablet. Y/n Aysara emphasized the desire to convey insights into Eywa's teachings and Na'vi ways.
**Departure and Unresolved Mysteries:**
Y/n Aysara departed at dawn, vanishing into a mining hole, referencing a location known as "The glows." Attempts to locate her proved unsuccessful.
***Recommend***
I have decided to keep this a private matter, Limiting access to my files about this event.
**Conclusion:**
The encounter with Y/n Aysara presents an unprecedented situation requiring careful consideration and collaboration with the research team. Future developments will be monitored and reported accordingly.
*End log.*
Miles reaching his unit that morning was most likely the quickest he ever had been from returning home from a shift. He had practically collided with the unit's door as he stumbled into the entrance. He knew he should've been more quiet upon entering but he couldn't as he quickly crossed the living room to his desk snatching open its compartments for his old beaten up Holo Tablet device that was years old. It was the only thing he knew without a doubt it couldn't be traced and it was where he liked to keep his more reserved work files onto. Clicking the old devices buttons he waited as the screen booted up and projected allowing him to jot down everything that had happened. Gentle foot steps from the hall to their shared room brought little attention.
“Mi cielo, What are you doing?” Paz's voice slightly echoed in their living room a yawn covering her tone as she padded into their shared space. Yet Miles turns quickly and rushes towards her.
“You're not going to believe what happened.” He brought her over to their sofa sitting her down before he explained everything moving the updated tablet he had on him showing her the recorded conversation he had taken and the few poor quality pictures he managed which over pixelated The navy womens glowing stripes as if the holy tablets camera were not sure where to focus on the woman's body.
“She just..came into the tower.” Paz questioned as she read through the conversation staring at the woman's image.
“Stumbled through the door more like.” Miles answered as he moved, getting up and heading towards the kitchen to make them coffee.
“She was nothing like the other species Dr.Augustine's team had reached out to…four ears, two tails hell, even two of those connected things.”
“I believe they're called Queues..” Paz replied as she got up from the sofa moving to the kitchen's bar top to lean against it watching the back of her love.
“You should really take this to Grace.”
Miles did not respond right away, turning to lean back into the counter as he looked at Paz's face.
“I dont think it's a wise idea.” He spoke his tone lower than it had moments before, causing Paz to raise a brow, a simple gesture that he knew that she wanted him to explain.
“We're already on edge with the forest clan, Yea, and this Glows whatever they are…Paz they gotta be underground. She disappeared into an old mining hole. Straight down vanished. You think that's gonna go well with Ridge? This whole time with parts and stuff going missing, Mine operations are stalling and there could be a whole another clan hidden below our feet?”
He watched as Paz's brows furrowed, how her eyes moved from him and into the holotable in her hands.
“So what are you going to do about this?” She asked him looking back to meet his eyes with hers.
“Right now ima keep this on the low. Transfer everything to my old tab and data erase everything on my work one. Take it one step at a time.” He answers her moving to the other side of the bar leaning against it moving his hand out to take one of hers.
“I'd like you to show me how to do that.” He watched her brows furrow once more making his lips twitch upwards some.
“Erase the data.”
A snort leaving her as she shook her head.
“I will erase the data, but i want to know what's going on, if you're insisting on playing solo investigator, and she comes back i want to know everything.” Paz spoke to him firmly and He squeezed her hand.
“I wouldn't ever keep a secret from you Darlin.” He assured her.
And He found himself staying on the night shifts longer than he had originally planned. The difference was now Paz would sometimes come to bring him ‘lunches’ in hopes that she would be with him on a night where the mysterious Navi woman would appear.
Weeks had gone by before She had appeared again, one a night after Paz had left from bringing him ‘lunch’.
It was another night spent with the translation app on his work holo tablet and a conversation made up between broken tongue of the device, With a small screen off to the corner out his main screen way on mute communicating everything to an old outdated Holotablet in the Hands of the very woman who had missed out on being physically present in this encounter.
It had seemed to Frustrate You more as the conversation was not as fluent as a flowing river. And so this night was nothing but you saying the words in the correct way and having him repeat it back to you.
“Whetu Nui '' You spoke to him slowly in a way it sounded like your tongue was fighting against your teeth as you tried to dumb the word down for him for what must've been the hundredth time in the past five minutes.
“Whetu Nui” He Spoke back and watched how your ears moved. It was fascinating they could move individually had you wanted them too, but it seemed more commonly for them to move together.
You had nodded your head at him seemingly content in his pronunciation on how to say Big star in your language.
“Pai.” Your voice echoed through the call, as Paz held Miles' old holo tablet in her lab as she sat at the edge of the bed.
You were a stunning sight, sitting there close to the watchtower's doors in the darkened room, but she could hardly agree it was dark with how brightly things were illuminated by your markings glow. Sometimes the Camera would catch locking onto your body allowing a crystal clear image of what you looked like and it was those times Paz found herself quickly sliding her fingers across the holo tablets projected screen to snapshot those clear short lasting seconds before the camera became blurry or pixelated, It wasn't entirely the cameras doing but more so how Miles could not sit completely still.
The next morning it did not take Miles long to quickly return to her after the navi woman left.
There they both quickly went over everything, over several shared cups of coffee and it ended with Paz erasing all corresponding evidence of this hidden encounter off Miles' work Tablet and had everything encrypted over to the old beat up one which Miles would store the device away at the work desk.
“She was beautiful.” Paz whispered as they both laid together in their bed, her head against his chest as she could feel his hand moving up and down her arm.
“You should see her in person, it's something else, Darlin.” He whispers back, making her huff and smack his chest.
“I will be there next time she comes.” causing a chuckle to leave him.
“Of course Darlin.”
but it seems you were on an entirely different time schedule.
For you never showed up at the same time each time you did appear. Always at different times and So Paz watched you through a screen speaking to Miles, more so teaching him more of your language and unknowingly her as well.
“Whaea Nui.” She listened to your streaming voice.
Paz slowly mouthed the words before she too spoke them aloud.
“Whaea Nui.” Glancing from the old Holotablet to her own updated work tablet with the translation app spirling its little icon before the line moved forming the translation of Na'vi to Human English.
‘Great mother’
“Wha Nu.” Miles' voice crackled through the old Tablet projected screen causing Paz to let out a snort.
“Kino!..Whaea Nui. W h a e a N u i.”
“Whea Nue” Miles attemption of repeating what you had once again slowed down for him. Paz watched the screen amusedly to see how your pixelated ears moved back.
“Whaea nui homai te kaha ki ahau me tenei tama a tetahi atu whaea.” Your voice moved through with tones of draining patients and While Paz didn't fully need to know what you must've said, she could feel your irritation to understand. Through her eyes moved to her work tablet watching how the words translated causing her to snort.
“Hey, I'm trying!” Miles' voice cut through the olden tablet caused Paz to snort out another round of chuckles as she could assume his own tablet finally translated your tongues language.
It wasn't long before the first rays of the Pandoran sun started to peek through her and miles room window, and not even a few moments longer before you had vanished through the mining operations sight and into another hole when Paz heard the clicking noise of her being unmuted.
“Where do you think those lead too?” She asks him.
“To wherever she keeps calling the Glows darlin.” Miles voice records over.

She keeps coming back and it seems every time she does I miss her by a hair. I can see why Miles is captivated by her, for I am just as much as entangled by her as well. Each time she does appear at that watch tower, I find myself more and more curious about her. I've been taking well to her lessons, practicing her tongue as if it was my own. I found myself whispering her raught words as I did my rounds through the engineering room or other assigned tasks throughout my shifts. Miles and I have both taken to studying the Navi language through the Translation app far more seriously.
When I do get to finally meet her, I want to be able to speak with her without the tablets. Focus more on her facial expressions, for language is more than just simply saying the words, it is a dance of expressions giving the words meaning and life in the conversation.
I believe actually hearing her voice in person versus the cracking of miles old screen will help with that.
The last encounter Miles had asked her when she would be back, She had replied in a hurry before leaving.
The translator spit out nonsense
‘When the water stops dripping.’
We both could not come up with what she meant by that, another reason why we must learn her language to understand her better.

She meant when it stops raining!
I sometimes forget how attune to nature they seem to be with this planet. It wasn't even a day after the last encounter before the storms started to roll in. I Have never seen such hard and heavy rain, so much clean water poured down.
Miles and I have taken to the patio during these days, just sitting and watching the rain fall. It's calming, Just us sitting beside each other watching the storm pelt clean water against our patio glass, beating down on the forest that surrounds the base.
We have discovered that even when the forest is being pounded by the heavy falling rain that it's brimming with life.
The amount of creatures that seem to come out during the rain was carefully documented by Hells Gates research team, and the data uploaded for all to see.
Miles and I got the delight to see one of these creatures up close against the patio's glass paneling. A strange little creature that Dr. Augustine's team drew common parallels to extinct earth species of Hylidae, Gekkonidae. Miles kept poking at the patio glass to make the little thing move around despite me telling him to stop.
Dr.Augustine's team predicts that the rains will continue for at least two weeks before the storm passes through. That at least gave Miles and I a rough idea of when she would start coming back again.
This time when she comes back, I will meet her.

okaayyyy first on the list of designnsssss,,, rayman !! yeah incredible , ik ik just. stay with me here
a brief rundown of it is taking that whole "guardian of this world" concept, and being an embodiment of dreams, bravery and light.. then making it into a silly forest spirit,,
some inspos are sky children of the light, over the garden wall, adventure time, and zelda . again , weird mix , i knowwww . but!!!
i would need an entire doc to list all the things i've written on him thus far but i'd love asks/questions (and perhaps suggestions!)
im gonna be real here... most of the changes have to be the fact he has a cape and, messy hair, with flowers/leaves caught in it (ever heard of a brush???)
#rayman#rayman legends#rayman origins#rayman fanart#my wips#traditional art#okay bits of small trivia below!#he has little butterflies that follow him around sometimes; similar to that one scene in steven universe#represent his thoughts and ambitions in a way#halo is optional too i just thought. hey! that ring on his sweater has some sort of mystical significance#so i thought it'd be nice if there was. of course. a small ring of light donned over his head#weird looking angel if you ask me.... ahahaha#he can also shapeshift as he's made of the stuff of dreams; can be a bird. manta ray. any sort of animal to his heart's desire#although he'd look a biiitt different than the rest; sorta stand out. be it from a faint glow. lums or markings#can't believe this is sthe same guy that sang sexbomb and had no arms no legs huge features#then again i consider this like a separate universe/canon from the acc games it's. how do i put this#more of if it went in the direction of fantastical or fantasy elements

Kingdom of Ash Chapter 61
Chapter; Highlights (okay the entire chapter is a highlight)🤣
As requested @mysterylilycheeta I NEED TO SQUEAL IN WYVERN FANGIRL WITH YOU NOW CAUSE OH M GOODNESS THIS CHAPTER ON SO MANY LEVELS I JUST AHAKWIHUHFEJLZXBKEKA
Agony was a song in Lorcan's blood, his bones, his breath.
Every step of the horse, every leap she made over body and debris, sent it ringing afresh. There was no end, no mercy from it. It was all he could do to keep in the saddle, to cling to consciousness.
To keep his arm around Elide.
She had come for him. Had found him, somehow, on this endless battlefield.
His name on her lips had been a summons he could never deny, even when death had held him so gently, nestled beneath all those he'd felled, I, and waited for his last breaths.
And now, charging toward that too-distant keep, so far behind the droves of soldiers and riders racing for the gates, he wondered if these minutes would be his last. Her last.
She had come for him.
Lorcan managed to glance toward the dam on their right. Toward the ruk rider signaling that it was only a matter of minutes until it unleashed hell over the plain.
He didn't know how it had become weakened. Didn't care.
Still Elide kept urging the horse onward, kept them on as straight a path toward the distant keep as possible.
No ruk would come to sweep them up. No, his luck had been spent in surviving this long, in her finding him. His power would do nothing against that water.
The farthest lines of panicked soldiers appeared, and Farasha charged past them.
Elide let out a sob, and he followed the line of her sight.
To the keep gate, still open.
"Faster, Farasha!" She didn't hide the raw terror in her voice, the desperation.
Once the dam broke, it would take less than a minute for the tidal wave to reach them.
She had come for him. She had found him.
The world went quiet. The pain in his body faded into nothing. Into something secondary.
Lorcan slid his other arm around Elide, bringing his mouth close to her ear as he said, "You have to let me go."
Each word was gravelly, his voice strained nearly to the point of uselessness.
Elide didn't shift her focus from the keep ahead. "No."
That gentle quiet flowed around him, clearing the fog of pain and battle. "You have to. You have to, Elide. I'm too heavy-and without my weight, you might make it to the keep in time."
"No." The salt of her tears filled his nose.
Lorcan brushed his mouth over her damp cheek, ignoring the roaring pain in his body. The horse galloped and galloped, as if she might outrace death itself.
"I love you," he whispered in Elide's ear. "I have loved you from the moment you picked up that axe to slay the ilken." Her tears flowed past him in the wind. "And I will be with you ..." His voice broke, but he made himself say the words, the truth in his heart. "I will be with you always."
He was not frightened of what would come for him once he tumbled off the horse. He was not frightened at all, if it meant her reaching the keep.
So Lorcan kissed Elide's cheek again, allowed himself to breathe in her scent one last time. "I love you," he repeated, and began to withdraw his arms from around her waist.
Elide slapped a hand onto his forearm. Dug in her nails, right into his skin, fierce as any ruk.
"No."
There were no tears in her voice. Nothing but solid, unwavering steel.
"No," she said again. The voice of the Lady of Perranth.
Lorcan tried to move his arm, but her grip would not be dislodged.
If he tumbled off the horse, she would go with him.
Together. They would either outrun this or die together.
"Elide-"
But Elide slammed her heels into the horse's sides.
Slammed her heels into the dark flank and screamed, "FLY, FARASHA." She cracked the reins. "FLY, FLY, FLY!"
And gods help her, that horse did.
As if the god that had crafted her filled the mare's lungs with his own breath, Farasha gave a surge of speed.
Faster than the wind. Faster than death.
Farasha cleared the first of the fleeing Darghan cavalry. Passed desperate horses and riders at an all-out gallop for the gates.
Her mighty heart did not falter, even when Lorcan knew it was raging to the point of bursting.
Less than a mile stood between them and the keep.
But a thunderous, groaning crack cleaved the world, echoing off the lake, the mountains.
There was nothing he could do, nothing that brave, unfaltering horse could do, as the dam ruptured.
Rowan made himself stand there, to watch the last moments of the Lady of Perranth and his former commander. It was all he could offer: witnessing their deaths, so he might tell the story to those he encountered. So they would not be forgotten.
The roaring of the oncoming wave became deafening, even from miles away.
Still Elide and Lorcan raced, Farasha passing horse after horse after horse.
Even up here, would they escape the wave's reach? Rowan dared to survey the battlements, to assess if he needed to get the others, needed to get Aelin, to higher ground.
But Aelin was not at his side.
She was not on the battlement at all.
Rowan's heart halted. Simply stopped beating as a ruddy-brown ruk dropped from the skies, spearing for the center of the plain.
Arcas, Borte's ruk. A golden-haired woman dangling from his talons.
Aelin. Aelin was—
Arcas neared the earth, talons splaying.
Aelin hit the ground, rolling, rolling, until she uncoiled to her feet.
Right in the path of that wave.
"Oh gods," Fenrys breathed, seeing her, too.
They all saw her.
The queen on the plain.
The endless wall of water surging for her.
The keep stones began shuddering. Rowan threw out a hand to brace himself, fear like nothing he had known ripping through him as Aelin lifted her arms above her head.
A pillar of fire shot up around her, lifting her hair with it.
The wave roared and roared for her, for the army behind her.
The shaking in the keep was not from the wave.
It was not from that wall of water at all.
Cracks formed in the earth, splintering across it. Spiderwebbing from Aelin.
"The hot springs," Chaol breathed. "The valley floor is full of veins into the earth itself."
Into the burning heart of the world.
The keep shook, more violently this time.
The pillar of fire sucked back into Aelin.
She held out a hand before her, her fist closed.
As if it would halt the wave in its tracks.
He knew then. Either as her mate or carranam, he knew.
"Three months," Rowan breathed.
The others stilled.
"Three months," he said again, his knees wobbling. "She's been making the descent into her power for three months."
Every day she had been with Maeve, bound in iron, she had gone deeper. And she had not tapped too far into that power since they'd freed her because she had kept making the plunge.
To gather up the full might of her magic.
Not for the Lock, not for Erawan.
But for Maeve's death blow.
A few weeks of descent had taken her powers to devastating levels. Three months of it
…
Holy gods. Holy rutting gods.
And when her fire hit the wall of water now towering over her, when they collided —
"GET DOWN!" Rowan bellowed, over the screaming waters. "GET DOWN NOW!"
His companions dropped to the stones, any within earshot doing the same.
Rowan plummeted into his power. Plummeted into it fast and hard, ripping out any remaining shred of magic.
Elide and Lorcan were still too far from the gates. Thousands of soldiers were still too far from the gates as the wave crested above them.
As Aelin opened her hand toward it.
Fire erupted.
Cobalt fire. The raging soul of a flame.
A tidal wave of it.
Taller than the raging waters, it blasted from her, flaring wide.
The wave slammed into it. And where water met a wall of fire, where a thousand years of confinement met three months of it, the world exploded.
Blistering steam, capable of melting flesh from bone, shot across the plain.
With a roar, Rowan threw all that remained of his magic toward the onslaught of steam, a wall of wind that shoved it toward the lake, the mountains.
Still the waters came, breaking against the flames that did not so much as yield an inch.
Maeve's death blow. Spent here, to save the army that might mean Terrasen's salvation. To spare the lives on the plain.
Rowan gritted his teeth, panting against his fraying power. A burnout lurked, deadly close.
The raging wave threw itself over and over and over into the wall of flame.
Rowan didn't see if Elide and Lorcan made it into the keep. If the other soldiers and riders on the plain stopped to gape.
Princess Hasar said, rising beside him, "That power is no blessing."
"Tell that to your soldiers," Fenrys snarled, standing, too.
"I did not mean it that way," Hasar snipped, and awe was indeed stark on her face.
Rowan leaned against the battlements, panting hard as he fought to keep the lethal steam from flowing toward the army. As he cooled and sent it whisking away.
Solid hands slid under his arms, and then Fenrys and Gavriel were there, propping him up between them.
A minute passed. Then another.
The wave began to lower. Still the fire burned.
Rowan's head pounded, his mouth going dry.
Time slipped from him. A coppery tang filled his mouth.
The wave lowered farther, raging waters quieting. Then roaring turned to lapping, rapids into eddies.
Until the wall of flame began to lower, too. Tracking the waters down and down and down. Letting them seep into the cracks of the earth.
Rowan's knees buckled, but he held on to his magic long enough for the steam to lessen.
For it, too, to be calmed.
It filled the plain, turning the world into drifting mist. Blocking the view of the queen in its center.
Then silence. Utter silence.
Fire flickered through the mist, blue turning to gold and red. A muted, throbbing glow.
Rowan spat blood onto the battlement stones, his breath like shards of glass in his throat.
The glowing flames shrank, steam rippling past. Until there was only a slim pillar of fire, veiled in the mist-shrouded plain.
Not a pillar of fire.
But Aelin.
Glowing white-hot. As if she had given herself so wholly to the flame that she had become fire herself.
The Fire-Bringer someone whispered down the battlements.
The mist rippled and billowed, casting her into nothing but a glowing effigy.
The silence turned reverent.
A gentle wind from the north swept down. The veil of mist pulled back, and there she was.
She glowed from within. Glowed golden, tendrils of her hair floating on a phantom wind.
"Mala's Heir," Yrene breathed.
Down on the plain, Elide and Lorcan had halted.
The wind pushed away more of the drifting mist, clearing the land beyond Aelin.
And where that mighty, lethal wave had loomed, where death had charged toward them, nothing remained at all.
For three months, she had sung to the darkness and the flame, and they had sung back.
For three months, she had burrowed so deep inside her power that she had plundered undiscovered depths. While Maeve and Cairn had worked on her, she had delved. Never letting them know what she mined, what she gathered to her, day by day by day.
A death blow. One to wipe a dark queen from the earth forever.
She'd kept that power coiled in herself even after she'd been freed from the irons. Had struggled to keep it down these weeks, the strain enormous. Some days, it had been easier to barely speak. Some days, swaggering arrogance had been her key to ignoring it.
Yet when she had seen that wave, when she had seen Elide and Lorcan choosing death together, when she had seen the army that might save Terrasen, she'd known. She'd felt the fire sleeping under this city, and knew they had come here for a reason.
She had come here for this reason.
A river still flowed from the dam, harmless and small, wending toward the lake.
Nothing more.
Aelin lifted a glowing hand before her as blessed, cooling emptiness filled her at last.
Slowly, starting from her fingertips, the glow faded.
As if she were forged anew, forged back into her body.
Back into Aelin.
Clarity, sharp and crystal clear, filled its wake. As if she could see again, breathe again.
Inch by inch, the golden glow faded into skin and bone. Into a woman once more.
Already, a white-tailed hawk launched skyward.
But as the last of the glow faded, disappearing out through her toes, Aelin fell to her knees.
Fell to her knees in the utter silence of the world, and curled onto her side.
She had the vague sense of strong, familiar arms scooping her up. Of being carried onto a broad feathery back, still in those arms.
Of soaring through the skies, the last of the mist rippling away into the afternoon sun.

I feel like Arcadia Oaks from Tales of Arcadia and Amity Park from Danny Phantom, if they existed in the same universe, would both be weird, but like, in opposite ends of the spectrum.
Like, Arcadia sits on top of a primordial hearthstone, the last one and also the biggest. Magic radiates throughout the town. Everyone who lives there is a little more in tune with nature. Everything and everyone is just a little too perfect. Everyone’s a little to pretty. They live a little too long. Their eyes sparkle with something more. Their streets are too clean and outsiders feel like they’re walking into a dream when they visit. It’s almost eerily enchanting.
Amity Park is on the opposite spectrum. Everything there is off. When comparing the two towns, people will notice a lot of similarities but they can’t quite put there finger on what makes Amity so off-putting. Everyone lives a little too long. Their eyes sparkle with something more. All of these qualities are shared between the two towns, but one is enchanting and the other is terrifying.
Either way, very few outsiders can stand to stay more than a few days.
#the answer is something that no one is able to put into words except the people that live there and have visited the other#one is teeming with life and the other is filled with death#trollhunters#trollhunters: tales of Arcadia#danny phantom#dp#toa wizards#toa#tales of arcadia#3 below#toa x dp#toa trollhunters#toa 3below#3below#magic#wizards#ghosts#the idea that both towns are wrong but in fundementally different ways#they still affect the people just as much#people’s eyes glow in both towns but in Arcadia it’s like oh magic! and in Amity it’s like oh death!#they both live long because magic = immortal and ectoplasm = kinda already dead#from a vague description of both towns they sound pretty similar#less crime (because no one wants to run into Trolls or ghosts at night)#someone please enjoy this as much as I do

Below it Glows Chp 4
Miles Quaritch x Cavi Navi reader.
Fanart made by @nin3kyuu
The navi above is Neykuna (💖smol love💖) The Tsahík and Zayola (✨️Gaint woman✨️) The Olo'eyktan of the Ivonyok Clan!.
Chapter 4 - Her whispers-
Graces school seemed to be doing wonders with the colonists continuing building bridges with the Omaticaya clan as trading deals were being made for resources. Some clan members even joined to learn at the school so that they could translate for their chieftains at meetings with Graces teams.
News of the Avatar program was starting to take off as individuals were now being hand picked by the doctor to work inside of the program and would be functioning these Na'vi human bodies to further gather research and knowledge of the Na'vi ways of life and how to further explore living conditions for humans on pandora. They were being very picky about whose DNA would be mixing with the Na'vi DNA samples and who would be an appropriate fit for the job. There's talk about the Avatar program being a stepping stone for another that the RDA is keeping under tight lips about, whatever it is he was sure that he would catch wind of it sooner rather than later.
The new recruits Quaritch had hand picked out were doing wonders with distributing the hours among his men and it did raise morale despite the mining issues. The colonel did pick up on how even now months out and Augustines team of researchers who made contact with more clans of different Na'vi subspecies that the one he saw months prior had not popped up on the radar. He had thought they were some kind of night Na'vi but as more contact was made with a true nocturnal Na'vi sub species he learned that wasn't the case at all.
"You're still doing the night shift?" Paz's voice called to him from their bathroom pulling him to his current task of getting ready for work. He let out a sigh pulling on his uniform shirt.
"Yes darlin, just for a little longer." He assured her before walking to the bathroom and leaning on the doorframe. He watched as she moved a small device onto the sinks countertop. The electronic device flashed a loading circle for a few moments before it flashed red.
Negative.
The disappointment that grew in his soon to be wifes face made its way to his chest squeezing it as he walked into the bathroom and wrapped his arms around her.
"There's always next time hun." He whispered into her ears words of comfort listening to how her breathing picked up and felt her turn to bury her face into his chest. He moved a hand through her hair softly as he held her whispering nothing but sweet things of comfort to her.
"I would like you home for lunch tomorrow." She whispered, pulling away from him to wipe her eyes and Quaritch softly reached out to squeeze her shoulder.
"I'll be here darlin." He promised her watching as she left the bathroom to sit on the bed staring out the window. Quaritch watched her for a few moments longer before finally grabbing his vest and headed out to the mining operations site. Mask tightly to his face as he walked towards the chained fence that was put up to keep intruders out and towards his work tower. Heading up the stairs he took in the sights of the base and forest, his eyes soon falling towards the site below over the machinery. It had been a few months since his last encounter with the strange Na'vi in the site. Since the Na'vi woman's appearance with other members of her clan, missing equipment hadn't been an issue any longer. In fact there weren't even any more reports of any Na'vi on the site or on the machinery since he had tried speaking to them to leave. The issues on the mining operations site had shifted and now changed.
What was an issue was how the soil that was easy for mining was harder to drill through. They kept hitting missed spots for ore and resources when their Equipment had picked up on large pockets of it days or even now hours before. Frustration was growing amongst the staff and this was an issue they couldn't blame on the Na'vi but the planet itself. Mining operations were being held off as equipment system checks were being issued. Work loads that were none of his concern. He made sure to kiss his fiancé before grabbing his lunch pack and Ecopact and heading out of their unit down the halls of the human base.
Once making his way to the garage heading to the exit he could hear radios playing music and a few men sitting on tool boxes or flimsy chairs drinking and laughing.
"Hey Colonel, want a drink?" A heavily Hispanic accented voice called, making him turn to focus on the small group.
A few of his boys and A few Mechanics seem to have fun with card games. Some scowls on faces indicating who wasn't winning and a few wide grins on others that showed clearly who was.
Quaritchs eyes landed on the young man that spoke, his uniform shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a messily unbutton revealing the gray undershirt below. His tanned skin had gotten a few shades darker since he had arrived at Pandora, the blessed warm sun doing good on him. Quaritch twitched a smile as he turned heading over to the small group.
"I'll take one to go Lopez."
The whispers had began every since Vayion had taken y/n to that place with those strange rocks that had none of Ewyas heartbeat in them. tried to think that it was just her thoughts consuming her but these couldn't be thoughts.
she didn't have thoughts whisper colors of eyes to her to the point where she could see them so clearly.
Eyes that didn't belong to her people.
She never had whispers softly tell her to teach when those eyes found their place in front of her. To take them in under her guidance then send them away.
No, She didn't understand the whispers, Nor did she understand the dreams that took over her mind in her sleep. To teach who? To teach them what? So she found herself entering the most sacred cavern that gleamed with endless sparkles of crystals, her feet lighting up the mossy path as she took a step leaving behind glowing footsteps as she looked up to where she would find answers to her such questions.
The luminous roots tangled and swayed down, with their smaller vined ones floating down with grace for her people to touch and bless oneself with connecting to their ancestors that had passed once more. She approached below them, looking up to their glow and as if the great tree roots heard her thoughts whisper back to them the long swaying vined ones descended down and swirled around her. She grabbed one softly with her other hand grabbing her thickly protected queues and connected them to the root vine.
The whispers only grew louder, surrounding her like the deepest currents did to the sisters that swam too deep in the luminous pools to explore the darkness below.
A wall of words building around her taller than the caverned walls that the strong brothers climbed and vanished from her homelands glow.
And they left her curious as the cousins who had to explore where the great star showed down from aboves led them through the vast mushroom forests.
And as if she was one of Eywas star seers that fly in the night following her dull star, the great mother allowed her to see what those whispers told her for months on end never once stopping.
Blue eyes brighter than the glowing pools that current swimmers swim in stared into her with such a brightness that would make the Star seers believe they were the great star and fall asleep. Eyes that must belong somewhere so high that even the great sky climbers could not ever reach.
So pure and bright, and yet.
Not of her people.
Not of any clan peoples.
Other wordly as if they had come from the unknown places Eywa can not touch, that the great mother refuses to touch, for they are not her responsibilities, they are of her sisters that tend to.
She pulled away from the great rooted tree panting. Ears flared out and slicked back as she stared up at them wide eyed.
Why was the great mother showing her one of her greatest sisters' children?
She stumbled away from the weeping roots and scrambled out of the sacred cavern.
She needed to speak to someone with these whispers. Of the vision of the eyes Eywa had trusted her to see and her alone.
So she rushed through the tunnels ignoring the cheered calls and clicks of clan members. Her tails dragging across the slicken but sometimes sharp walls and ground of the caves. Her own lips smack open as her tongue is beaten against the back of her teeth and roof of her mouth. The sound gliding through the air better than the Arachno'Apteran's on a stalking hunt. Her ears fanning and twitching as the sound bounced off of twists and turns, crystals and moss before entering here ears and showing her a great map of ahead. She did not slow until she was entering the wisest woman of the clan, healing den, her ears perking up her Aunts soft words, also telling her there were others and the words that wanted to rush out of her lips and off her tongue needed to wait.
'"Drink every day until you bleed and you will not bare."'
She had waited as footsteps moved around in front of her, she clicked in warning as the other approached letting the other know she was here and they were getting close to see her. The other clicked back in appreciation as they shifted away.
'"Good glow."' The passing woman had greeted before exiting the Tsahíks healing den.
'"Good glow.'" Y/n spoke back in a mutter before moving deeper into her Aunts den, smells of spiced bark and other minerals hitting her nose. She scrunched it slightly as she moved, silvered eyes moving over the Tsahík mat that had bowls placed in arrangements filled with substances and spices.
'' You had entered here so quickly I had thought you were going to tumble over us.``' Her aunt's voice sounded behind her making the young woman softly smile before sitting down in front of the mat. Her aunt didn't take long to walk past her. silken fabric rustling softly as she moved to sit down.
Her eyes settled on her aunt's face and they faintly flicked to the older woman's long ears. The only other woman around who shared these long and wide elegant ears, for she had Sired Y/n years and years ago before the woman had reached her highest self.
"'What brings you to me, my dearest."' Neykuna spoke towards y/n softly ears perked and ready to hear even the faintest of mutters.
"'I have been..hearing things Auntie..Whispers of eyes."' You had not muttered, you told her more confused as ever.
"'It's been happening since the dull star hit the sacred chamber, they do not stop and they hunt me with words i can not understand."'
your Aunt Neykuna had gasp reaching over to grab you by the shoulders making you look up in hopes that your aunt had in fact heard the same whispers, That she knew exactly what you were telling her about.
"'Do you not see!"' Neykuna had said with a wide proud smile on your face making you hope someone faltered into confusion as her hands cupped your cheeks.
"'Eywa has chosen you to take my place as the next Tsahík. You can hear her like I."' Neykuna had said before moving her embrace away to gather things around her, missing how your ears had begun to falter and slick down. Your aunt had seemed that the visions you had seen and the whispers from The great mothers hushed lips were for you to take her place, not that they were warnings or prophecies.
"'This is a celebratory, I shall tell your mother and Zayola at once."'
Claws scratched deeply into the thick trunk of the giant glow cap taking in the young woman's anger.
The snarl of her fangs mashing made Vayion jump as he watched his dearest friend.
"'She didn't even listen to me!."' Y/n had snarled striking the unmoving trunk with her other hand, claws digging and snatching out chunks of fungus and the claw marks leaking with illuminous syrup that should've been spilt to be collected, not in one's anger.
"'I wanted her to hear of these whispers these visions but she only was concerned of me taking her place!"'
Vayion had flinched at the compulsion of his friend's anger and moved from the glow caps he was lounging on. falling down to the mossy patches where his friend had stood and walked over softly placing a warm hand on her back.
"'Why make her see the things Eywa came to you?"' He questioned watching how his friend stopped her clawed hand still in the glow cap's trunk. She did not fight him off when he ran his hands up to her shoulders twisting her to look up at him as he looked into her silver eyes with his milky white ones.
"'Eywa wants you to listen to her, Not the old woman. The great mother wanted you to see those visions through your own mind, Not hers."'
Her ears had flared open at his works perking up in attention making Vayion smile his toothy grin in return.
"'What do you believe Mother is wanting you to do?"'
She had taken in a deep breath, eyes fluttering shut and ears twitching, listening as a soft wind moved around them. Vayion had no doubts carrying Ewya's whispers and stories with them through the caves systems.
He watched patiently for his dearest friend to open her silvered eyes glowing in the pale glow caps gleam.
"'I think i am to go back to the heatbeatless rocks."'
Vayion paced around, his ears lashing in directions and his tails lashed at the ground, the clicking of his tongue grew more and more as his paced circles grew larger.
Y/n had sat turning her head following the sound of his clicking as an idea of where he was for he had left the path of her sights. His clicking louder and she saw the flash of his striped leg as he grew near once again.
"'We said we would not ever go back.'" He said neutrally.
"'We did."' You had softly spoken back confirming his words. Seeing him enter your path of sight once more. He had stopped clicking his tongue and then turned now facing you, milky eyes gazing over your direction.
"'Why send you there to those strange sounding things who stole her greats stars power?"' He questioned, his voice hushed so that his words did not carry through any echoes. His questioning against the great mother could get him in trouble even if he like you were learning her ways.
"'I believe…She wants me to teach one."' Your voice equally as hushed, not wanting your voice to carry as well.
Your words had only made him start pacing in smaller circles before the sounds of his huffing were made and he came into the lath sight again.
"'Why you? Why not one of the star seers, the sky climbers, The sand dancers, the sun chasers or even the current swimmers?! I understand not the Ash walkers but you? But why?…Why, you? Why have you left the safety of the glows to teach some strange creature?"' There was anger in his tones, concern for your well-being, disbelief of the wishes of the great mother.
But he was correct in his feelings about the weight of your words.
To teach one of those creatures which you can only assume is one of the great mothers distant sisters' children, would mean you had to leave the safety of the great mothers heartbeat caves and caverns. To climb high like the sky climbers to the surface above, to move through the trees like the sun chasers to find the other mothers strange creatures and teach the one with those strange bright blue eyes.
"' I do not know why our great mother gives me this responsibility Vayion, But she plagues me with whispers, creeps into my sleep with her visions, I can not ignore her, I can not ignore our great mother and her chantings of some purpose path she placed in front of me." You told him moving closer to your most dearest childhood friend, a hand bracing his shoulder as you looked up at him taking in his features.
"'I just know deep down That Eywa wants me to find this strange creature with the strange blue in their eyes and teach them her ways. Our ways. Teach them to live in Her embrace." Even as you softly explained yourself to your dearest friend your ears twitching and flaring could still hear the strongest of the mothers heartbeats. As if it was racing faster and faster, you could feel each thrum bounce through the balls of your feet, shake through your tails up your spine to your heart and head. Strumming louder and louder with your own, and you could only feel as each whisper from the tunnel's wind that creeped around every curve of each cavern grew stronger and louder.
When your eyes meet the ones eyes, do not leave them stranded, guide them. Love them as one of your own.
"'I have to go."' You whispered to Vayion feeling a ringing in your ears as you pushed away from your friend. Vayion had made a sound clicking his tongue before his hand grabbed your shoulder.
'"Let me at least take you so that I know you made it to that strange place safely…"' He softly whispered, asking and yet not at the same time leaving you a choice. Vayion your platonic bond never took away your choices, always there to accept and support you in anyway He could as you would do for him. With a turn of your head to look at him you could see the concern in his eyes, how he twitched his lips in it like he always did, his ears slicked back and you could hear the nervous swishing of his tail.
"'I will keep ears away from you, If anyone asks i'll say that your at the glow pools."' He softly added on, offering the aid he can knowing you would not allow him to follow you completely out of the glows. You smiled at him and moved your hand to his squeezing it softly.
"'Just to the heartbeat less rocks tunnels, then I go alone, I will be back before the greatest star rises."' You had assured him, You promised yourself.
You both had moved quietly the occasional clicking of your tongue between your fangs as your ears flared and moved listening to the clacks bounce of the glows around you. Giving your mind's eye a sharp and clear image of what was around you. Your tails drag against the ground occasionally whacking into each other or twitching due to feeling one another's footsteps just a few feet away from each other. The silence was not empty, many emotions brewed into it but you both did not need words to speak them. The occasional touches of your hands grazing each other, the helping each other climb up glow caps and ridges as you both neared closer and closer to the forbidden place you with a few others had agreed to never go back again. An agreement you were now breaking for the sake of seeing what the great mothers whispers wanted you to speak.
Your ears twitched, hearing Vayions movement stilled as you reached an upper ridge clouded by roots of the most greatest trees you could imagine on the surface. You turned cocking your head picking up on the sounds of his breathing chest and the softness of his scent.
'"Please..Come back to the glows safely."' Vayion's words were heavy with various meanings and you knew each one deeply in your heart.
"'I will be back my friend, i promise you..Good Glow."' You assured yourself once more before turning back, clicking your tongue and moving to climb up the thickest of roots closer to the surface like so many of your clans past brothers and sisters had done before becoming clans of their own.
"'Good Glow."'

Had a weird Hollow Knight-related dream a couple days ago, so I decided to draw a major scene I remembered from it dgsgshf
More context will be in the tags, for those interested!
#hollow knight#little ghost#hk ghost#the knight#hk hornet#hornet#alright. as of writing these tags it's been a week since the original dream so! let's see what i remember dgsgsgf#i was playing a game. which was a sequel to hollow knight ((Not silksong though))#there was some new sort of divine infection in hallownest and hornet had asked ghost to investigate it. they ended the last one after all!#the red glowy spike gate thingy is what you jumped into to enter the 'infected' areas#though it actually led directly to a hub world type of place. which was kinda like an expanded base for the grimm troupe?#more like an entire lair instead of a camp. also some greek gods were there for some reason lmao. they had their own special rooms too#so sidenote but- new headcanon that there are grimm troupe members named ares athena artemis &... venus lmao. not aphrodite for some reason#also monomon was there?? i think??? except she was cooking????? she had a sidequest to deliver something to someone though i dunno hdgfhdgh#i remember going back to the grimm troupe lair a couple times throughout my 'playthrough'#anyway. the 'infection' this time around was more of a glitchy physical corruption thing? rather than a mind corruption.#though there were still aggressive enemies to fight. but i remember getting a map from cornifer early on and he was. probably infected#i think part of his body was covered in electricity or something? so he wasn't fully visible? but he was still acting normally#there was also a moth who was the seer but then later wasn't the seer (but was still the same moth) dghgdhf. i delivered stuff to her#that glowing white wall thing in the drawing was like a one-way gate. you could only cross it from the other side and ghost came from there#i guess things looped back up somehow i dunno ghdgfhgf#anyway. ghost's red eyes. those are significant! those happened while i was walking through a corridor. it had pools of shallow water#(shallow enough to just walk through) and also creatures that were lightseeds but red.the implication was that they were full of Blood lmao#and as i went along killing them--as one does--as i walked through the hall. they started turning the water red too#there was also narration about this as it was happening ashdgsf. specifically the narrator said the water turned red before it actually did#ghost's eyes slowly turned red too. but aside from that they were fine! since. they're the player character and the player is perfectly fin#BUT. when they encountered hornet again. she thought they were infected. and that she lost the only family she had left </3#she didn't attack though. instead she just jumped into the red spike gate without a word. decided to try to fix everything herself#but eventually you'd encounter her again down below and she'd fight you. didn't actually get to that in the dream though#aand i'm out of tags </3 i wanted to talk about what i'd do to make this make more sense as an au or something now that i'm awake but. :c
