i really don’t miss being a teenager or even my early twenties. what i do kind of miss sometimes is strangers treating me like a completely nonthreatening little lost boy. i could walk up to anyone with my big eyes and that look of just general fear on my face, and they would be immediately willing to help me with whatever i needed. like you know the tbh creature? i kind of can’t stand that thing, but it was basically me. and i wasn’t even putting it on! i just looked like a teenage child until i was around 25. some people still think i’m a teenager, but i carry myself differently now that i have actual confidence, so people see more than the baby face.
the funny thing is, i eventually figured out what was happening and learned to lean into it a bit. i still wasn’t acting it up, but i would notice who treated me that way and go to them more than others. like i really was an anxious autistic young person, so i relied on whatever could help me survive, even if it meant letting people treat me like a kid. it doesn’t work that way for me anymore, and i wouldn’t want that again, but i think it’s all really funny when i look back on it.
#it might sound like i’m bragging about being cute#and i do think i’m cute/hot and love it#but having a baby face can be a detriment at times#being underestimated talked down to etc. can be really frustrating#and i get… all the creeps. like all of them.#important caveat: i am white. i understand that’s part of why things worked that way for me#i talked to my brother in law about it one time and he’s black and said people didn’t treat him that way even when he *was* a kid#which wasn’t something i’d considered at the time because i was still young#anyway#weirdly i rarely got carded even when i was under 21#i think i just went to shady places#i would go with older people though so maybe that helped

Can I humbly request Older sister headcannons (platonic of course stfu pedos) with Kyoko, Mahiru, Mikan, and Chiaki with a younger brother reader that gets into a fight with a kid from his middle school he really hates and really whoops his ass like REALLY bad? Like when he gets home he would be looking at the ground with his headphones on, frantically walking to his room to try avoid being scolded by his big sister lmao. even though little bro took a little bit a damage, he easily did the most damage in his lil scrap. And the fight was recorded and posted on social media so there was little chance the older sister(s) wasn’t going to see it.
Hope ya havin a good Day/Afternoon/Evening/Night, this my first time requesting on this blog so I hope I didn’t fuck anything up with the rules 🫡
The number of times I wanted to do this when I was in middle school- 😩😩😩
Kyoko, Mahiru, Mikan and Chiaki with a Younger Brother Who Gets in a Fight
Kyoko Kirigiri
She already knew about your situation with this kid, and told you not to do anything stupid
She already came to your school and told this kid to back off, but clearly, that wasn't enough
The kid still continued to bug you, trying to start a fight with you
Maybe it was because your sister was so calm and mature, and you were trying to take after her example, but this kid just didn't know when to quit
Things reached a boiling point when they insulted your sister
That's it, you had enough
It's time to throw hands
It ended with you on top of this kid, pounding them into the ground while they were too weak to do much about it
They underestimated how strong you would be
They ended up with bruises all over while you only had a red mark on your face and a scrape on your elbow
You got out as fast as you could, and you went home and up to your room to avoid getting scolded by your sister
She didn't get home until later, which you thought would work for you
You hoped that if you hid in your room all day, you would be in the clear
Unfortunately, you apparently forgot that your sister is the Ultimate Detective, and would immediately know something was wrong when you didn't greet her after she came home
So she came up to your room, and knowing there was no hiding the truth, you had no choice but to tell her
She looked at you in surprise, before sighing and shaking her head
"That was incredibly immature of you. But I am glad you stood up for yourself."
This earned a short, but stern scolding from her, which resulted in you feeling super bad about the whole thing
You ended up getting suspended, and Kyoko honestly thought you deserved it
Then the video was posted online, and she saw how bad the fight really was
She was shocked and mildly impressed to see that you took basically no damage
But she'll be damned if you ever do this again
Mahiru Koizumi
She didn't know about your situation right off the bat, but she noticed the way you looked frustrated when you came home from school
But you never wanted to tell her what was going on, knowing how worried she'd get
So you kept it from her, but that only made her worry more
Things only got worse from there, and you and this kid ended up brawling in the middle of the hallway
Poor little twink got annihilated while you were perfectly fine
You were quick to GTFO, and you kept your head down as you walked home
Unfortunately, one of the instigators ended up recording the whole thing
As a photographer, Mahiru likes to post her best pictures on social media
And the video of the fight was posted on the same websites she posted her pictures
Yep, there's no getting out of this one
She went straight to your room and gave you a 45-minute-long scolding, talking about how reckless it was of you to get into a fight, how worried she was, etc.
It ended with her in tears as she gave you a tight hug to soothe herself, begging you not to do it again
Just tell her next time, alright?
She'll give the bullies the scolding of their lives
She's also shocked that you took very little damage from the fight, but all she cares about is that you don't do it again
Mikan Tsumiki
Oh, no way in hell were you telling her what was going on
She didn't want her little bro to get picked on like she was, so you knew she'd bawl her eyes out if she found out
And you didn't want that, so you kept your mouth shut
So you continued to suffer in silence, and your sister noticed something was wrong, and she grew even more worried as you kept it to yourself
Then this kid insulted your sister, and all hell broke loose
They could barely even react as you leapt on top of them and pounded their ass into the ground
A quick and easy victory
You didn't get out totally unscathed, but you were way more fortunate than the kid you beat up
You knew your sister would freak out, so you walked right past her and went to your room
Okay, now something was wrong for sure
She finally went up to you and confronted you, and you had to show her your "battle scars" and explain how you got them
Just as you expected, she started bawling her eyes out as she pulled you into her arms
Not just because you got into a fight, but because her precious baby bro was getting picked on in the first place
And on top of that, you didn't even tell her what was going on
It's a triple whammy
After that, she patched up your scrapes and gave you a mild scolding while making you promise not to do it again
She doesn't check social media much, but when she did, she was in for a big surprise
She couldn't even watch the full video, even though you didn't get hurt much
Chiaki Nanami
This stuff sort of just goes over her head, honestly
If you don't tell her, she'll never figure it out
She does notice when something's wrong, and she checks in on you every day, but it's pretty easy to get her to drop it
Up until the day this kid you had issues with called your sister a lazy gamer girl, and the two of you basically went all Mortal Kombat in the hallway
Fatalities and all, 'cause you barely even got hurt, but this kid got owned
You left as quickly as possible, just keeping your headphones on and not looking at your sister as you went back home
She was playing video games on the couch, so you could just walk behind the couch without her noticing you
Until she got a notification on her phone, which happened to be the video someone got of you brutalizing your rival
She just watched the video intently, both shocked and impressed
It looked like it was straight out of a fighting game
After that, she went up to your room and calmly greeted you
"Hey, hey. Are you okay?"
She's not saying what you did was good, but she is proud that you stood up for yourself
But she also pouted at you and made you promise not to do it again before inviting you to play video games with her
She also complimented your moves, and she might watch the video again later

Disabled community, I want y’all’s thoughts on this (esp people who are familiar with the way disability accommodations and stuff work in the US) because I feel like I’m probably being screwed over.
So I work at a store chain in the southern US and I applied for reasonable accommodations under the ADA for diagnosed chronic pain and fatigue. I have a relative who was an HR manager (or something like that) for years and I asked for her input and she said she thought my requests were perfectly reasonable, unlikely to be denied for any reason, and very well worded. I asked for, with a doctor’s input, having two days off in a row twice a month, being scheduled no more than 8 hours a day, and “flexibility in scheduling” (doctors words, not mine, and I’m not a huge fan of this part because of how incredibly vague it is, making me unsure of how it would be applied in practice). I was told when I first sent the paperwork in to my manager that I should be the first one to hear back directly from HR via email, it’s been probably over a month and I have not heard back.
I talked to my manager this morning after my shift, asking if he had heard anything, and he said HR had gotten the request but that he and my comanager had decided to, instead of giving me the accommodations as I requested, change my job position to something “less physically demanding”. In the moment I was too tired from my shift to process this fully and was thinking “whatever, I’ll take what I can get I guess” but the more I think about it the more frustrated I am. I don’t feel that changing my job position to something less physically demanding will be adequate, because the physical labor isn’t the entire issue to begin with, although it is a big part of it. With the combination of chronic fatigue and being autistic (which I am formally diagnosed with, but did not mention in my request for accommodations because I thought it would be best to include as little of my diagnostic information as possible so they have less reasons to want to fire me, but now I realize this may have been a mistake) I am easily exhausted to the point of being unable to function adequately at work or otherwise, even from non physically demanding labor- ESPECIALLY from doing day shifts working retail where I am required to interact with customers all day. This is extremely hard on me emotionally and even physically (from the stress of it causing chronic pain flareups) and it would be even if I were allowed to sit down as much as I wanted.
I’m upset, I don’t know what to do, any advice or thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. The thing that really gets me is, you shouldn’t even have to be disabled to want two days off in a row a measly twice a month. But the fact that I am disabled according to doctors and they’re still apparently denying me this is just absolutely bonkers to me. And for someone with debilitating chronic pain, fatigue, etc that’s especially barely asking anything, it’s not even the bare minimum, it wouldn’t be anywhere near enough, but I asked for it because it would at least be better and I thought it was such an agonizingly reasonable request that they couldn’t possibly deny it. But I guess I underestimated how (even with my already present complete and utter lack of faith in the system) how unseriously the ADA is taken by corporations and how unwilling they are to make even the tiniest of adjustments. And, I’m not the only person in my job position who works there, it’s a big store with lots of employees, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to give me that much. This is all ridiculous. I don’t know what can be done, or if what they’re doing is even legal or not (but even if it isn’t, I’m not sure what I could do about it because it’s not like I have the money to hire a lawyer).
This is my first “real” job and I’ve only been there since summer of this year, if that matters for context.
Reblogs appreciated so maybe more people see this and have input.

Yesterday I fucked up
I have ADD and autism. MOST of the time, people tend to not think of it, because I’m quite high functioning, meaning it can sometimes be really frustrating when they underestimate my problems, despite me telling about them repeatedly. Well, yesterday I, a 40-year old woman, who can count the major fights with my hubby over 18 years on our combined fingers. Like, neither of us is the type to be loud and screaming, or ignoring one another. We talk it out and then realise we’re morons, make some more coffee and go about our day. Now, my hubby is neurotypical and I’m very grateful for that. He’s my rock, he has supported me through shitty times, he’s never tried to change the way I am and always respects my personal space. There’s a reason why I waited more than 15 years for him to be ready to get married. The thing is, being generally quite high functioning with two major, invisible disabilities, OFTEN make people assume my difficulties aren’t that bad OR, which is almost as bad, start trying to solve a problem FOR me without my input. The latter was what made me explode yesterday. See, in a few months time, we have to temporarily move out due to a huge renovation which, of course, is stressful, but our landlord is great and things are handled very well. My hubby, who has a great work memory and a lot better planning skills, has been the best by being responsible for gathering the information about the temporary move, calling our landlord etc. This is awesome and I’m SO grateful for that. The problem is, my hubby started to take over A LOT more than I ever said I wanted him to and it all started with our old freezer. You see, generally, I take care of stuff like cleaning the drains, defrosting our freezer, the laundry etc. by myself, and our old freezer that will be exchanged to a new one after the renovations, is... fucked up. So, naturally, I wanted to defrost our big freezing box that we bought two years ago. i also wanted to collect a bunch of old books to get to second hand and place them in a box. My hubby said no to me starting with the books and that just... stopped my flow, but I figured I could start with the freezer instead and then he came in and said no, like... Like I was a child messing up the kitchen, instead of a grown ass woman who knows exactly what she’s doing. I LOST it. And I mean REALLY lost it. I kicked our piles with folded laundry around and wiped down everything on the top of our bureou in the hallway (nothing that could be borken, thankfully) and then I just left, slamming the door REALLY hard and running out in the middle of the night. It was awful and it’s one of only two major autistic meltdowns I’ve ever displayed as an adult. I scared the living hell out of my husband and, which I feel VERY guilty about: he was scared I’d turn violent. I’ve not been violent to anyone since I was ten or something and I grew up in a family where my parents and older sibling unfortunately often had HUGE fights where no one could control their temper or voice - and things DID turn violent at times too. It was absolutely awful that I showed the same signs of uncontrolled anger as I had experienced - and been SO scared of - as a child. So that was on me, completely, and i apologised profusely when I came back and we finally could talk.
No excuse for that.
Now we come to WHY I acted out like that.
My husband treated me like a child and very casually told me no about something I wanted to do that:
1. I had every right to do. 2. Was very much capable of doing. 3. Didn’t require his help or input.
He didn’t suggest or ask me not to defrost the freezer, he said “we’re not doing that now”.
There’s a HUGE difference between “I don’t think it’s a good idea to do that now” and “we’re not doing that now”.
The first one is an opinion from one adult to another, the second one is a child being told no from an adult. In that moment, I very much felt like I was treated like an unreasonable child, by an adult who thought I couldn’t take care of things I’ve done plenty. My husband, on the other hand, thought he was helping and didn’t understand that his “we’re not doing that now” didn’t come out like a question AT ALL, but a casual order, a “no” to a stupid child. THAT, more than anything, caused my crash and burn. But the worst of it, was that I didn’t think twice about how absolutely insane it was for me to take orders from him, let alone him giving them. My brain immediately went to “I’m not being heard = he doesn’t listen = he thinks I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m autistic = he doesn’t trust me to make decisions = he thinks it’s just fine for him to tell me no like I’m a child”. Enter cause and effect: absolute explosion. He thought he was helping me by not having me take on more work: I thought he was telling me I couldn’t be trusted to defrost the fucking freezer. Eventually we managed to talk it out properly and we’re fine now, but we both take responsibility for our different fuckups. He, by listening to me and admitting that just because defrosting the big freezer seemed unnecessary and/or difficult to HIM, it was neither of those things to ME. And so he apologised for making unilateral decisions about things I didn’t need his input for. I, in turn, apolgised both for blowing up so much, for throwing things around and for scaring him. Today, he made a check off list for things needing to be done before the move and put up on the refrigerator so I could have control too and I made a nice dinner and raspberry pie to make up some for scaring him.
It was a shitty experience for both of us, to say the least, but it also came out with some good things:
1. He realised he doesn’t have to handle all the planning alone. 2. I realised what I saw as patronizing, was a genuine attempt at helping. 3. He understood that a major thing like a move, REQUIRES me being in control on MY terms - of course as long as it doesn’t cause him problems and vice verca. 4. I defrosted the motherfucking freezer today and showed him first hand how damn stupid he was for trying to talk me out of it in the first place. Moral of the story? Don’t treat a disabled person like a child, unless you’re prepared to take a fullblown meltdown.

Australia - Nigeria Postgame Thoughts
If there's ever an example of shooting yourself in the foot, it's this game. A lot of things went wrong with Australia, so let's work our way through them.
Australia underestimated Nigeria. I'm not sure if Australia was just complacent after having beaten the bigger teams (England, France, done the necessary against Ireland, etc). I wonder if they saw the ranking disparity and thought that Nigeria would roll over for them, that Australia would just have to flex a little and Nigeria would back down. If it came from an area of complacency, then that's actually really - I don't want to say shocking, but definitely disappointing. Australia has been around long enough, and has played in enough tournaments, to know there are consequences for switching off. They did it anyway against a team that everyone knows whose ranking doesn't reflect their actual talent.
The Australian league finally got exposed. This is going to come across as a little snobbish, and I accept that. But I think the problem is the Australian league doesn't really allow players to compete in a competitive league, to be put under pressure situations the way that UWCL teams are when they're competing in the Champions League. Realistically, Australia has three to four "proper" big game players (Kerr, though I maintain she ghosts in big games anyway; Catley despite playing for Arsenal; Carpenter; you could make a case for Fowler but you'd need to be super convincing). But you need the European league, and more importantly the UWCL teams, to get used to the kind of pressure that big games require. The players who looked the most out of their depth were ones who do not play for (top) UWCL teams.
It's frustrating because I genuinely like Vine, Cooney-Cross, and to a degree Hunt, but their performances against Nigeria will put the big teams on the back foot. Now, I know it's not a permanent thing - every player will play a bad game and that doesn't mean they are a bad player - but it would be enough to give the bigger teams the desire to take a step back and think things through. The plus side for these young players is the next game is against Canada, an extremely high stakes game - what better way to redeem yourself than when your back is against in the wall?
The nicest thing I can say about Kyah Simon being on the roster is that she is a liability. If Australia go out in the group stages, questions should be asked as to why Australia wasted a spot on a player who hasn't played since October 2022. "She brings experience" doesn't mean shit when you go out in the group stage. (blah blah "who else would you have put?" Someone who played this calendar year!! My standards are really easily met on this one!!)
I think that all of the goals Australia conceded were avoidable, which, again, is frustrating. Arnold didn't really prove anything that we don't already know. I don't know what, exactly, the center backs were thinking on the goals, and that's assuming they were thinking in the first place.
I think that the Canada game will be a real character test for this Australian team. They talk a lot about solidarity and belief and never giving up. Okay then. Let's see how well those values hold up in a must-win game with your back against the wall. Nothing reveals your true face as well as that.
On a lighter note, I am definitely looking forward to seeing Carpenter's reunion with Lyon's favorite chaotic wine aunt, Vanessa Gilles.

For some years, I was a care worker looking after adults with assorted physical and mental disabilities in a residential home and its associated day centre.
Anecdote and rant below the cut:
We had a woman, let's call her Daisy (not her real name), with Down's Syndrome, selective mutism, and assorted other conditions. Most staff didn't know she could speak at all, and few have heard her say more than "No". Daisy would spend 95% of her waking time (not an exaggeration) perched on things like a little gargoyle blowing raspberries, and often causing mischief; she had a very particular kind of sense of humour. She was also known for fighting with staff a lot and being very uncooperative. Except with me, and maybe one or two other people. All it required to get her to do pretty much anything was to ask her politely instead of addressing her as one might a dog, and/or trying to manhandle her.
I remember on one occasion she was refusing to leave to the Day Centre, and the staff on shift at the home, collecting people at the end of the day to take them back, were gearing up for a fight, and instead all it took was me instead saying "Hey Daisy, I know you like it here at the Day Centre, and I like you coming here too, but we have to go home for a bit—me and the other staff as well—and if you don't go back now, they won't want to let you come back here in the morning, and we both want you back here tomorrow, right? So, will you please go along with [staff] now, and I'll save you a place here in the morning?" and off she trots.
And I was often called-for to "get Daisy to do xyz; she likes you" and there was really nothing special about me whatsoever, it was literally just a matter of being friendly and polite and treating her like a person.
We had other people who didn't talk at all or did only the slightest bit or did but with strong speech impediments or did but with only basic sign language etc, and in almost all cases their intelligence was so often underestimated and in every single case their listening comprehension was often forgotten to exist, resulting in people so often saying offensive/condescending things in their earshot.
And just... Whyyyyyyy. Speech is just one way of communicating thoughts and not everyone can, and not everyone who can wants to. There are plenty of other ways. It really need not be a big deal. There is nothing about speaking that makes those who do somehow "more of a person". The flipside of which is it definitely should not be a reason to think someone who doesn't speak is any less of a person.
If the preferred way of communicating something within a given group happened to be interpretive dance, chances are you as someone for whom that's not your preferred way of communicating would get tired of it easily, frustrated perhaps, not wanting to convey your thoughts in such a weird and exhausting way. Hopefully the group would understand that and accept your own easier form of communication in turn, and not think you less of a person for not dancing for them.
Just because someone doesn’t speak does not mean they don’t have thoughts, feelings, opinions, and worth. Just because someone has trouble communicating thoughts/feelings, or communicates them differently than you do, does not mean those things don’t exist. Don’t assume a nonverbal/nonspeaking person won’t understand, won’t have a feeling or opinion. And definitely don’t assume they do not deserve love and happiness like everyone else.

Warning: maaassivvee vent incoming
So, I'm mad at my doctor.
I've been seeing her basically since birth. I've always had issues, if you will, but in the last couple years, everything just compounded, and stuff has been cropping up more seriously. I went to therapy, got diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. Was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and switched to a specialist. Got recommended to see an occupational therapist for related tics. Started looking for another general therapist to deal with worsening anxiety. Got recommended by my sibling's therapist to look into the possibility of being on the autism spectrum.
Through this, I've had to go back and forth with my normal doctor, discussing diagnoses, medication, etc. I've had to hear her opinions on my problems, put together through brief, cordial meetings of her asking me basically irrelevant questions about what she mistakenly perceives to be going on.
Anxiety? She asked about the stress of my school workload, and recommended that I go to prom. OCD? She asked about compulsions like hand-washing and checking locks. She attributed the symptoms that I tried to explain, for the most part, to anxiety.
My mom, not knowing how to deal with a tic attack, brought me into the office one day when I couldn't stay at school during a rehearsal. My whole body was sore and exhausted from shaking, my knuckles were bleeding from being tapped open, and I was trying not to cry waiting for it all to die down. When I went in for my next appointment, she awkwardly asked about "the things you have to do sometimes that make you stressed."
When I brought up potential autism screening, she was shocked and taken aback. She didn't think that could at all be an option, because, as she put it, I'm too smart. People with autism, she said, have trouble speaking, behave inappropriately in social settings, and don't understand social norms and boundaries. In her assessment, based solely on twenty-minute-long annual checkups (always, of course, accompanied by politely stilted small talk and guarded non-personal positivity), she determined that I have never really had any issues socially that would warrant concern. She said that I could maybe be on the spectrum, which would mean that I had some autistic traits, but not actually Autistic. When she asked why I thought to bring this up, I explained my thoughts about sensory issues, social struggle, stimming, and my preference to make plans and find comfort in routine. She was, of course, doubtful. She referred to moments that my mom cited as potential meltdowns during my childhood as moments when I get "tearful."
And it's just all so frustrating, because on top of having to deal with all this stuff and the rest of my life as it is, I have to worry about how this doctor will potentially completely misunderstand the issue and become a roadblock to getting better treatment and understanding for myself. I wish that I could have a medical professional on my side, to help and explain things to my parents when they misunderstand or underestimate what's going on, but instead it's just someone else in a position of authority that isn't getting it either. And I don't want to complain, because I know that there are so many people going through much worse, but it's just frustrating. I can only hope that my doctor is better with other patients who haven't had the opportunity to see other professionals like I have.
Anyway, TL;DR, my doctor doesn't understand my non-physical health issues and it's really annoying because I still have to go through her about it.
#vent post#sorry for this intensely long post but i really just had to vomit this all out somewhere#i'm requesting acommodations and i have to get documentation from her#and i'm so scared that she's going to misrepresent what's going on and i won't get the acommodations i need#ahhhh#anyway#sorry again :')

How to Create a Content Creation Plan for Your Business
Congratulations on taking the first step to creating a content creation plan for your business! A content creation plan is essential for any business that wants to succeed online. By creating a plan, you can ensure that your content is well-organized and targeted to your audience. Here are three steps to create a successful content creation plan:
The first step in creating a content creation plan is to define your goals. What do you want to achieve with your content? Do you want to generate leads, drive traffic to your website, or build brand awareness? Once you know what you want to achieve, you can begin planning how best to accomplish those goals.
The second step in creating a content creation plan is researching your target audience. Who are they? What are their needs and interests? What kind of information do they need from you? Knowing who your target audience is will help you determine what type of content will resonate with them most.
youtube
Defining your content creation goals
Content creation can be a daunting task. Defining your goals is the first step in developing a content creation plan. The keyword “content creation plan” is important because it helps keep you focused on your goals. Here are three tips to help you define your contentcreation goals:
1. Keep it simple: When defining your content goals, don’t try to accomplish too many things at once. Stick to one or two objectives that you want to achieve with your content.
2. Be specific: Vague goals will only lead to frustration down the road. Be as specific as possible when setting your sights for what you want to achieve with your content strategy.
3.: Set achievable milestones:Part of being specific about your content goals is also setting achievable milestones along the way. This will help you track progress and adjust course if necessary
Building your content creation strategy
When it comes to creating content, there are a few things you need to take into account in order to make sure your strategy is effective. First, you need to have a clear understanding of what your goals are and who your target audience is. Once you know this, you can start creating content that is both relevant and interesting to them. It’s also important to keep in mind how often you will be publishing new content, as well as what format it will take (e.g., blog posts, infographics, videos, etc.).
Creating great content isn’t easy, but if you have a solid plan in place it can make the process a whole lot simpler. So don’t underestimate the importance of taking the time to develop a strong content creation strategy before getting started!
Outlining your content calendar
Assuming you want a blog titled “Outlining your content calendar”:
When it comes to developing a content creation plan, the first step is always to outline your goals. What do you hope to achieve with your content? Once you know what you want to accomplish, you can start mapping out how you’ll get there.
But before we get into the nitty-gritty of planning, let’s take a step back and understand why having a clear understanding of your goals is so important. By outlining your goals beforehand, you’re more likely to create content that is in line with those objectives—content that actually helps move the needle and meets your end goal. If you don’t have a clear goal in mind from the outset, it will be easy to lose sight of what you’re trying to achieve and create content for content’s sake. So take the time to sit down and really think about what success looks like for your brand before moving on to planning out specific pieces of content.
Now that we’ve talked about the importance of setting goals, let’s dive into how to start mapping out your content calendar. The best way to do this is by using an editorial calendar template
Generating ideas for new content
Creating content can be a daunting task, especially if you feel like you’ve already covered all the topics you’re interested in. But don’t worry – there are plenty of ways to come up with new ideas for your blog or website.
One way to generate new ideas is by using a content creation plan. This is basically a list of potential topics that you can write about, which can help to brainstorm new ideas and keep your writing fresh. To create a content creation plan, start by thinking about the topics you usually write about and then branch out from there. For example, if you typically write about business advice, try coming up with ideas for specific niche markets or businesses.
Another way to come up with new content ideas is to look at what’s popular in your industry and find a way to put your own spin on it. You can also try reaching out to other experts in your field and asking them for their opinion on hot topics. By keeping up with trends and talking to others in your industry, you should be able to generate plenty of new ideas for fresh content that will resonate with your audience.
Creating and publishing your content
If you want to get started with content creation, the first step is to create a content creation plan. This will help you map out what kind of content you want to create, how often you’ll create it, and who will be responsible for creating it.
Once you have a plan in place, it’s time to start creating your content. If you’re not sure where to start, there are plenty of resources available online to help you get started. Once you have some ideas, it’s time to start writing or filming your content.
Finally, once your content is created, it’s time to publish it. You can do this yourself if you have a website or blog, or you can submit it to someone else for publication. Either way, make sure that yourcontent is high-quality and well-written so that people will actually want to read or watch it.
Promoting and distributing your content
When it comes to promoting and distributing your content, the most important thing is to have a content creation plan. This will help you determine what kind of content you need to create, how often you need to create it, and where you need to distribute it. Without a plan, it’s all too easy to get overwhelmed and give up on your content altogether.
The first step in creating a content creation plan is figuring out what kind of content you want to create. Do you want to write blog posts? Create videos? Record podcasts? Once you know the type of content you want to create, you can start thinking about how often you want to release new pieces. If you’re aiming for weekly releases, for example, then make sure that’s reflected in your plan.
From there, it’s time to start thinking about distribution. Where do you want yourcontentto be seen? Who is your target audience? There are endless possibilities here, so take some time to really think about where yourcontentwill have the biggest impact. Once you have all of this figured out,you can start creatingand releasing new pieces of content according touyourplan.
Conclusion
If you’re like most businesses, you understand the importance of creating content, but developing a content creation plan can be daunting. But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! Here are four steps to creating a content creation plan for your business:
1. Define your goals – What do you want to achieve with your content? More website visitors? More social media followers? Increased brand awareness? Once you know what you want to achieve, you can develop strategies to make it happen.
2. Identify your audience – Who is your target market? What are their interests and needs? When you know who you’re talking to, it’s much easier to create relevant, engaging content that resonates with them.
3. Create a editorial calendar – This will help keep track of all your content ideas, deadlines, and published pieces in one place. Plus, it’ll make sure that nothing falls through the cracks!
4. Set budget and resources – How much money and time do you have to devote to content creation? Make sure that your budget realistically reflects the scope of your project.

On the topic of Columbo, do you think his whole demeanor really was an act, or was he just Like That? Or somewhere more in the middle? Was he off in his own little world thinking bout crimes, was he just a lovely puppy dog with the authority to arrest you? Or a master manipulator?
por qué no los dos?
as i've said before, everyone has their own interpretation of the character and that adds to the enduring enjoyment of the show. patrick mcgoohan was at one end of the spectrum--he liked to think that columbo's warmth and kindness were completely an act, that under the surface he's naught but cold and calculating.
now me personally, i see no reason why a man can't be warm and calculating.
i've written about it elsewhere, but i think you can sort of develop a feel for "the truth" when you watch more of the show. note well that i've watched a sickening amount of this show.
columbo is shown in all sorts of situations throughout--with the murderer, alone, speaking to colleagues, tertiary characters, random strangers, his wife, even his dog. he's also shown in all sorts of moods--hungry, tired, sick, confused, lost, frustrated, etc.
and although he modulates his tone depending on how he's feeling and who he's talking to (e.g. he's sometimes annoyed/brusque with his colleagues, his "act" is always completely dropped when on the phone with his wife), and not everything he says adds up (keep in mind 70s tv movies were never intended to be scrutinized to this degree), it turns out on average his true demeanor is...nice. shocker.
columbo is first and foremost a man of impeccable logic. therefore it follows that the reasoning behind his facade is just as logical:
if it means arresting a guilty party, columbo will play up whatever needs to be played up, say whatever needs to be said, do whatever it takes in order to get someone to let their guard down or give him what he wants, and will not stop until his objective is completed. his means to the end vary based on who it is he's manipulating and what he needs. and that's really all there is to it.
besides the obvious advantages of being underestimated and lulling suspects into a false sense of security, people in general are more forthcoming with information when you're plain nice. they're more willing to put up with you being annoying and overly inquisitive when you're nice. you build a rapport faster when you're nice. to columbo, being nice comes naturally. ergo, to make your job easier, just be Really Nice! you can bare your fangs later.
so he doesn't "fake" any of this, he merely leans into it. part of his real personality is that he IS kind, chivalrous, respectful, and so on. his extreme manipulation is seen almost exclusively within the realm of playing the "arrest the murderer" game.
outside of that, he is a normal, observable measure of nice and polite to everyone around him, even those who offer him nothing--homeless people, service staff/clerks, random children, random strangers, his dog, etc.
tl;dr like all of columbo's other personality traits, he isn't "faking" them when he manipulates--they're there, and he knows it. he's simply leveraging them to get what he needs. and what he needs is that killer's ass in jail, stat.
#sweet little man is also highly manipulative lil bitch more at 11#but he is nice fr fr#sorry anon i dropped another fat fuck essay#columbo#longpost#ask#text

Commitment Issues *Part 4*
Lorenzo St. John X FReader Malachai Parker X F!Reader
Word Count: 1560
Requested: Anon
Request: Part 4 of commitment issues. I don't think I asked for another one. It was about reader being with enzo but they broke up cause he couldn't do it anymore then kai comes in the picture something about a spirit etc.
*Part 3*
"You know stealing is bad right?" Kai asked as he got comfortable in the passenger seat of the car that you had him acquire. "My car was back at my apartment." You mumbled as you pulled out of the gas station and continued on the road that Kai had pointed out, "That doesn't make it better, how did you know that I wouldn't just kill that guy?" He asked. "I didn't," you answered honestly, not really thinking about what he was saying. "You trust me too much." He smiled as he leaned over, poking at her cheek "why is that?" "Because you pretend that you don't want a friend or family but you do, that's why you're so angry at Bonnie, why you want her dead. She ruined everything for you." You explained and he leaned back away from you. "Your projecting." He mumbled. "I'm actually not angry at either one of them anymore." You answered, "where are we going?" "We need to get to Portland, I can drive you know." He said. "Yeah, you can drive when I get tired." You informed him as you pulled over to the side of the road to set up the sat nav.
"We have to go find her!" Enzo was the one to speak first after Damon explained everything that he had heard on the phone. "We don't know where they are," Bonnie said. "I can try a locator spell but Kai will likely put up a barrier spell." "Can you try?" Elena asked and Bonnie nodded, she stood ready to leave. "Do we know what they were looking for?" "Looking for?" Enzo asked, "how do you know that they were looking for something." "She left after the training with me and Stefan, she was frustrated because nothing seemed to be working, she suggested talking to Kai about what he knows," Damon explained. "Knows?" Enzo asked. "Are you serious? Have you been paying attention at all?" Stefan asked. "The fox spirit..." "Why would she go to him instead of us?" Enzo asked. "She did come to us, you just had your claws so far in the little witch to realize that she needed our help," Damon answered as he turned to get a drink "so go with your little witch and see if you can find our tricky little fox."
"They're probably looking for you by now," Kai said as he looked over at you. "Do you expect me to believe that you haven't already made that impossible?" You asked as you glanced at him quickly. "Alright you got me, there's a barrier spell up but knowing BonBon she'll figure something out," Kai answered and you nodded. "You should pull over and we can change over, you've been driving for hours." "Mm." You hummed as you looked over to see if there was somewhere to pull over, there was a small parking lot that you could pull into to swap over. Once you were happy Kai started on the journey again and you leaned your head back, your eyelids fluttering as you fought against sleep. "I'm not going to hurt you, you can go to sleep." He muttered. "She wouldn't let me hurt you even if I wanted to." "She hasn't been able to do anything for the past couple of weeks." You mumbled but he could tell that he was losing you to sleep. "You underestimate how strong you are in comparison," Kai said softly as he turned down the radio and stayed quiet after that.
The Mystic Falls gang had been running around like a bunch of headless chickens trying to find some kind of clue to where you were but you really didn't want to be found. "We aren't going to find her," Elena said as she sat down next to Damon. "She is a rather tricky fox," Damon mumbled. "What if he hurts her?" Elena asked. "If he wanted to hurt her, she would have been dead when she answered the phone to me, I don't know why he's helping her but it can't be good." Damon frowned as downed the last of his drink. "We'll find her."
You followed Kai through the forest "you seem to know this place well." You explained. "I grew up in a house at the edge of the forest I spent a lot of time here," Kai answered as he gestured in the direction that you assumed his house was in, "Are you going to tell me how you know about all of this?" You asked. "Well, you know how much I hate my family, well they seem to forget that I still saw what they did, I heard what they said even if they refused to acknowledge me when I was a kid there was a family that came to us, they knew that we were a coven, they had a little girl with her, they kept talking about how they wanted her to be normal but I could feel the power coming off of her in waves," Kai explained. "The girl was you, that's how I knew that you had the power, your parents had it sealed when you were little, to most witches it would feel like you were normal but to syphoners like me who look for even the smallest amount of magical energy I could feel that she was still with you," Kai explained. "So why are we out here, shouldn't we be going to your family?" You asked. "They're not here anymore, but even if they were they wouldn't tell me anything, so it's lucky that I know everything that I need to," Kai said as he walked towards the clearing, he gestured for you to go first but he seemed to linger at the edge. "Are you okay?" You asked. "Mmm." He hummed as he looked around as if he was waiting for something. "No, it's fine... Do you feel anything?" "No I do- Wait..." You stopped as you looked around "what is that?" "Follow the feeling." Kai encouraged you. "My coven was very good at hiding things, they were the ones that split the body and the spirit of the fox, they hid the body here somewhere." He explained. "How did you know that it's out here?" You asked. "You know my family did this so they would have kept it somewhere that they could keep an eye on, they never wanted me near it either." He explained. "My father was paranoid that meant that it had to be close to the house, somewhere that he could get to." "So what now?" You asked. "Find her." He shrugged, leaning against the tree. "I have time, I'll wait."
"They're in Portland," Bonnie said as she walked into the room where Elena and Damon were literally watching the phone. "Where he grew up?" Elena asked. "We'll never get there in time." "We have to try," Damon said as he grabbed his car keys and Elena followed him out. "We'll come with you." Bonnie stepped forward. "It's probably better that you guys stay here, we don't know what he's done to her and the last time that he was here he wanted you dead."Damon dismissed her before grabbing Elena and heading off.
When they finally got to you, they could feel the power coming out of the forest in waves. "What is that?" Elena asked. "Your friend." They both looked to the side and saw that Kai was leaning against a tree. "She's been talking to the fox for hours now, you guys are the only ones who aren't here to kill her." "What are you talking about?" Damon asked, Kai pointed behind him and it was then that they realized that there was blood on his hands. "Who's blood is that?" Elena asked. "As I said loads of people have come here to kill her, she's strong, dangerous to most creatures out there," Kai answered. "Kai!" They all heard you yelling and given that they were all vampires, they appeared in front of you with seconds of the name leaving your name.
Kai wasn't there when you opened your eyes and as much as you found him annoying the whole day, you didn't like the idea that something could have happened to him, there was blood everywhere "Kai!" You called out hoping that he would answer.
"Are you okay?" Kai asked, he was standing on the edge of the clearing again, you sighed in relief when you heard his voice. "(Y/N)!" Elena called as she ran into the centre of the clearing looking at you. "Are you okay?" She asked. "I'm fine." You answered. "We should go home, you can explain everything there," Elena suggested. "Fine but Kai knows more about all of this than I do, he has to come with us if you want a full explanation." You said as you looked at him. "Yeah no." Damon denied and you rolled your eyes. "Well I'm going back with him, you can come and find us." You muttered as you stood up and walked towards him, Kai looked at you surprised. "We still need to talk about something on the way back, something you never told me." "We do?" He asked. "Let's go." You gestured for him to follow you, Kai shrugged before following after you leaving your friends confused and slightly worried.

omg omg omg can u do horny hcs for dabi and shigaraki 😳😳
Horny Hc - 2
Pairing: Dabi x Reader, Shigaraki x Reader
Warnings: choking, being railed into the next dimension, spitting
A/N: Awwwww thank you for being my first requester nony <3 Here ya go, I hope you enjoy it bb! i’m so sorry that it took so fucking long but i just started working and it’s very hectic so I’m always either too unmotivated or too tired to write. But ig what matters is that I got it out lol. Dabi’s is a lot shorter than I’d like it to be but ima add on as time passes i think.
Imma be honest here this man has a bomb ass sex playlist fr fr.
Like jesus christ.
And I feel like even arranged the songs in a way so that as sex escalates so do the vibes the music gives off.
I don’t know why but i feel like Dabi has a tell tale sign when he wants to fuck. Like he walks into a room and he gives you that little smirk and kinda rests his head on his hand and lightly touching his thumb over his lower lip while looking you directly in your eyes and you just know.
He has dick piercings. Done. You can’t convince me otherwise.
Can also see him as the type to start kissing your neck randomly as you’re telling him about something and just giving little responses like mhm while you’re talking. He loves doing it because he loves seeing how flustered it makes you and he loves the sound of you struggling to speak even though he’s barely touching you.
With a sigh you close your eyes and lean your head back against the sofa as you tell Dabi about your day, hands tangled in his hair while his lips move against your neck.
“ And work was a fucking drag as always. I just can’t wait for us to get out of here and - “ Within seconds your whole train of thought was lost as you felt dabi kiss against an especially sensitive spot. “ Mhm? “ You can feel the vibration from his chest as he hummed out his response, lips parting before he gently grazed his teeth against it. You let out a shallow breath and desperately try to swallow back the moan threatening to slip out from between your lips. He softly starts sucking while nipping in between as he moves lower towards your chest. His lips part from your skin while his hand slips underneath your shirt inching upwards slowly.
“ And what baby?” The amusement is clear in his voice as he speaks, his eyes slipping down to your lips and back up again as his hand stills right below your chest.
A small groan escapes your throat as your hand slips up his neck to the back of his head and grabbing a fist full of hair.
“Oh fuck you.“ You push his head forward towards yours and your lips smash together, hungry and needy. You can practically feel the smirk on his face as he softly pushes you back so you can lay down before shifting so he was in between your legs, your complaints about work already long forgotten.
Dabi is also very open minded when it comes to sex. Like if you were to ask him if you could do some things to him through the backdoor he’d definitely try it at least once before deciding whether he properly likes it or not. You might have to buy him a few drinks beforehand though lmao.
I also feel like he is quite experienced in bed. I can definitely say with confidence that he most likely has had his fair share of one night stands in the past and he isn’t afraid to putt what he learned to good use.
Definitely both a masochist and a sadist.
Like he loves inflicting pain on you by like biting down on your lip to the point where it starts bleeding or maybe even knifeplay. But he also really loves the feeling of your nails raking down his back hard enough to draw blood. To him it hurts so fucking good.
“ Oh my god yes Dabi. Fuck. “ You shamelessly moan out, clenched hands fisting the sheets as your boyfriend pounds into you. An especially hard thrust has your hands flying upwards towards his back, fingernails digging into his skin and dragging downwards with no restraint.
A sharp hiss leave his lips only to be followed by a low growl before his hips start pounding into you at an even harder and faster pace.
“ That’s right, you better fucking hold on princess.“
I feel like he’s the teasing type during aftercare. Like he’ll comment on how loud you were being with a giant smirk on his face or he’d imitate your moans now and then.
Omg also I can definitely see Dabi knowing exactly what each type of noise from you means. How your ,moans sound when you’re close or when you want it harder etc.
I mean when he pounds his baby so hard they can’t speak he needs other forms of communication lol.
I'm gonna be honest here, I don't think that he's really experienced in the bedroom department.
Of course he's no stranger to the world of sex but most of the things he knows he definitely picked up either from overheard conversations at the bar or from the internet.
He never really minded not being sexually active, hell he barely even jerked off and probably wouldn't have if it weren't necessary. I feel like he most probably saw it as a chore.
But now that you're around his sex drive has doubled tenfold. Like in the beginning you had to beg to get him to do anything but now barely a day goes by where he doesn't indulge in your body.
That being said, don't underestimate his abilities in bed because this man is a fast learner.
He explores every inch of your body like unknown land, claiming you for himself.
He develops this need to make you cum every single time you're intimate. It's like a mission to him, and we all know how much he hates when things don't work out his way.
Speaking of things going his way, Tomura loves dominating you in bed. He loves being in charge and controlling where the night goes.
This being said, he loves taking you in missionary. He loves the way it gives him full access to your chest and neck and how he gets to stare into your pretty little eyes while he uses you as his cocksleeve.
Now and then when he's too tired he'll switch things up by letting you ride him. He loves gripping onto your hips while he thrusts up into them basically topping from the bottom, your chest on open display for him.
Even though he loves domming you he's too scared to try out any hard kinks in the beginning. The idea of choking you terrified him. What if something went wrong and he accidentally hurts you with his quirk? What if he kills you?
As your relationship progresses though, he becomes more confident with things like this. He finds comfort in the fact that you trust him enough to allow him to touch you like this, even thought you very well know what his quirk could do to your body and this becomes a very intimate thing for you.
Tomura is also possessive as fuck. If he sees a guy staring at you for even a second too long he's ready to throw hands. He will literately not hesitate to murder for you. And he has.
His friends have of course picked up on this and love to annoy him. Especially Dabi. He openly flirts and hits on you in front of Tomura to get a reaction out of him and no does he get one. It's as if he has a death wish.
It always results in him roughly fragile you away from the scarred man straight to your bedroom to remind you and everyone else what you belong to.
A choked cry leaves your throat as your boyfriend roughly bottoms out inside of you. He hardly even gives you time to adjust before starting his back breaking pace.
"A-ahh Tomura. Too much." Your voice comes out as a whine while you claw at your boyfriends back. He lifts his head from where he'd previously been sucking a hickey into your skin to give you a sickly grin.
"Oh yeah? But that scorched son of a bitch flirting with you wasn't?"
Shigaraki is a big fan of quickies. He especially loves them right before he has a big mission or meeting to attend. It gives him the opportunity to fuck out all the nerves and frustration beforehand.
Speaking of frustration. He definitely takes it out on you. When a mission goes wrong or fails? He fucks you. His team doesn't take him seriously? He fucks you.
Captain of head during videogames club.
I'm sorry to say this but I doubt that this man will give you lovey dovey aftercare.
Let's be honest, you take care of him on a daily basis, reminding him to eat and drink water and take a break when needed. And to moisturize. He barely knows how to care for himself, whats to say about you.
After sex you'd have to convince him to take a shower to get cleaned up and even more so to come to bed with you afterwards rather than play videogames or just passing out immediately afterwards.
The most love you can expect from him afterwards is some cuddles if he does agree to come to bed or he'd have you straddling him while gaming so you can still get your sought after attention. He'd press a kiss to your forehead now and then.
It may not be a lot to anyone else but you know that this is his own special way to let you know he cares for you and loves you.

You likely don't follow Dream Smp but there was just a reveal that one person (Character A) is torturing another (Character B, former villain, now in prison) for info on necromancy while the warden of the prison gave CA the equipment to do it and is ignoring CB's screams for help. And half the fandom is trying to justify it with "oh, CB deserves it for threatening to kill a child, killing (1/2)
another child (who he then revived, not justifying /that/ though) and manipulating/abusing the latter." Not only that, but so many people are telling off anyone who pointing out how messed up it is (and don't worry, the story itself so far is showing that it's messed up and won't work) with "it's just fiction, get over it." Like I am legit concerned over how many people are claiming it's cathartic and the character deserves it for their actions. Rant over I guess (2/2) (Dream smp anon) And I forgot to add that this character was /already/ being tortured; he has been in complete solitary confinement for upwards of 2 months and is being starved) and was actively self-harming and destroying items in his cell in a bid to get the warden to come replace them (looking for social interactions, even if it was negative) and people STILL thought that wasn't "enough of a punishment"
-
I have no idea what this show? Comic? Piece of media is but I’m happy to give my opinion on the general situation and use of violence in fiction*.
But I’m not here to take sides in fandom wars and the aim of this blog is not to tell people they can’t write about violence or abuse. It’s to make people think about how it’s used in stories and hopefully create something that’s more realistic and respectful to real survivors.
At the end of the day the reason I’m interested in fiction is because it effects our perception of real survivors. When so much of our popular media is unrealistic in ways that demean survivors that has an effect. I want to remind people that while the violent acts we write about are fiction, similar acts are happening to real people today.
Torture survivors are real. They’re human and they deserve respect.
Here’s the thing Anon, the people you’re mad at are real too. And the characters that sparked this are not.
There’s nothing wrong with having a strong emotional respond to fiction. There’s nothing wrong with getting frustrated with how pigheaded or outright bigoted fandom can be. But it is worth questioning whether responding to this kind of thing is worth it.
Arguments over fictional characters can become extremely heated and result in real world harm. And so long as you’re engaging with stuff in a purely fictional context… well I think the chances of being dismissed, belittled etc are significantly higher. (Note however that being dismissed and belittled still happens when you’re dealing with torture in the real world.)
This is not fair. That does not change other people’s responses or the cultural climate.
I will be blunt; if you are writing and reading in English the majority of fans you deal with will be Western and white. I have personally found this intersection very likely to treat violence as something purely fictional. I have found them unlikely to consider torture as a reality unless they are prompted to.
And from my side of things that prompting is often like dropping an anvil on someone’s foot during the conversation.
Believe me I get it. It is infuriating to see real, deadly torture techniques interpreted as harmless. It is hurtful seeing torture victims blamed for their own suffering. This happens on the news as often as it does in fandom so the fact these feelings are being set off by something fictional doesn’t make a lot of difference. Because these arguments are used in the real world against real people.
Seeing torture apologia touted as this weeks hot take is something you are allowed to be mad about. I’d be a hypocrite if I said otherwise.
But educating other people is hard work and you are talking about a piece of media aimed at children. You are probably talking to children. If you’re a teenager yourself it might be hard to hear it put like that.
It’s still true.
If you really want to have these conversations in your fandom then you need to centre the reality. Underestimating or dismissing the damage solitary confinement and starvation do to people is serious because it props up real world systems of abuse. Because it justifies ‘tough’ sentences to level of isolation that leave people mutilated by their own hand, or unable to function in society. Or dead. Because it leads to doctors ‘prescribing’ diets used in death camps.
Here’s the thing, talking about that reality to children is a fraught process. Especially when they’re children who don’t have any experience of seeing this stuff. And unless you’re their parent or teacher educating them is not your job.
Sending them down an internet rabbit hole that leads to photos of real injuries, real torture, real mass graves… I think that has the potential to go very badly.
Enjoying something and then discovering that the fandom is toxic is unpleasant. But my impression is that’s the problem here: the fandom interactions are leaving you feeling like shit.
Disengage.
You do not need the fandom to enjoy uh… whatever Dream smp is. You do not need their permission and if the fandom is a negative space for you, you are allowed to leave.
If some of these people are your friends then by all means try to privately explain why their words hurt you and use this blog as a resource. But ask yourself how much you want to be friends first because that is a long painful process that might not work.
Torture apologia is everywhere and fixing it is going to take decades.
Accept that you can not control other people’s actions. Accept that some people will always be assholes.
If seeing torture apologia hurts you then… you probably need to find a piece of media without torture to enjoy. Because apologia is so present that I think that’s the only way to completely avoid coming across it in fandom.
Once again I understand. I’ve volunteered to be bombarded with this stuff every day. It is upsetting. It is also embedded our global culture and the popular media exported to every single nation on the planet.
Constantly being confronted with it and stewing in that anger and hurt is unhealthy.
Step back. Do something else for a while. Take a look at this post I made last week. You might find some of the advice on dealing with these feelings helpful.
You can not make people care. Hopefully most of the people you’re talking to will grow and learn and become more compassionate people. But you can’t force that process.
And you don’t have to deal with their bullshit while they’re still growing.
Shouting at other people isn’t always helpful and it isn’t activism. If you want to do something constructive there are a lot of organisations that would gladly accept your money and your time.
Here’s a couple that seem relevant:
Just Detention
Solitary Watch
The World Food Programme
Amnesty International
I hope that helps. :)

picturejasper20 replied to your post:
I feel i kind of share part of the blame here since i have written tons of posts about this (have people noticed this strategic thing just now?). I don't where this Steven "never cares about others" comes from. The whole problem with him in future was how obsessive selflessness was becoming really toxic for him and how he let his relationships be defined by helping other people.
i don’t think you’re at fault here! i think the strategic angle IS important. it’s something i used to emphasize a lot when people framed the conflict as “shattering the diamonds would fix everything, steven is just too much of a coward to do it”, which... woof. i had so many problems with that sentiment.
like. let’s talk about a huge point of the shattering pink diamond story - why it doesn’t fix everything. it was a last-ditch attempt, and it scared homeworld gems away, but it was still a band-aid. it didn’t change gem society. cutting off the snake’s head doesn’t break thousands of years of homeworld indoctrination upon pink’s followers.
as you would expect, the exact opposite happens: rose underestimated how much of a BELOVED and REVERED figure pink was. jasper, the diamonds, etc - they mourned her. they hated the CGs more and each came to earth explicitly because of that hatred. and so, surprise! homeworld got angrier! they hate the crystal gems more now!
it’s also frustrating how it goes with this “Great Man History” thinking where the whole of society accepts a new way of thinking as soon as you kill their leaders and replace them.
again - all the diamonds are worshipped and adored. if you kill them, you are an enemy in the eyes of the general population. some will admire you, sure, but that’s not really dismantling their mindset, it’s just a new form of “might makes right.”
i also take issue with how like... “oh, sure, the underclass of this society has been indoctrinated, but the diamonds and uppercrusts? nah,” when in reality, eeeeeveryone believes in their role.
the diamonds believe they’re doing the right thing. they’re not generic, power-hungry villains. killing them without trying to help them is essentially the moral determinist’s argument: “sorry, we know your mindset was formed over millennia and that every gem has an innate need for purpose, including you, buuuut despite the forces shaping you being bigger than yourself, we’re gonna act like the people in the lower classes are the only ones capable of change.”
and that is, genuinely, how a lot of people see it. even though homeworld has never been exposed to another way of thinking, sorry, you were Innately Corrupted by the accident of your status at birth. sucks to be you, now die.
but morality aside, i also have to ask... how.
just... how would you kill them. would white bend down politely and stop piloting others’ bodies as soon as bismuth approached her with the breaking point? because from white’s perspective, stopping bismuth is extremely easy lmao. literally just take over her body and poof, white has the breaking point now.
so even putting morality aside... strategy matters. SU is very much a world where “we will win because we’re GOOD and we have FRIENDSHIP” is not how it works in a fight. the relative strengths of each group is significant and changes your strategy fundamentally. homeworld is stronger than them.
the crystal gems are a small outpost of rebels, who are up against pretty much their entire species, including their gods. many homeworld gems like the system, the ones who don’t are usually the ones with the least social power within it, and the least physical might to match.
so... yeah. this idea that the crystal gems would even have the chance to shatter a diamond is... very romanticized. it’s a shounen trope that doens’t respect the rules of the world in question, which are far more politically realistic.
i’ve said before that blue zircon’s theories are told through a homeworldian lens, and they are (for instance, stereotyping pearls, minimizing their agency and assuming love for diamonds)... but one thing she’s right about is that it’s extremely hard to shatter a diamond from “the outside.” in enemy territory, they often come with an entourage. they’re extremely powerful. white can control any gem. so like... good luck.
strategically, steven does the smart thing - and bismuth gives the Audience At Home (tm) a solid rundown of what he’s trying to do: “let me put this in earth terms for you: you're about to enter the "lions' den". luckily, you're a "lion" too! you gotta roar at them in their language; you're the one that has to do it.”
essentially, steven has to find a way to use his privilege in order to dismantle it. this includes talking to indoctrinated and priviliged relatives so they can understand that the hierarchy isn’t actually justified. imagine that.
btw, because the diamonds are BOTH a “resource” and the uppermost class... destroying those resources would mean you could never heal the corrupted gems. so... you got revenge for no reason and saved no one. hurray.
so we’re sacrificing this beautiful scene, and almost every CG (who were corrupted or shattered), for the sake of vengeance. good job keeping your moral purity by not engaging with the enemy at all, 10/10 solution to the material problems of this world /j.

Old School X is a project interviewing X-Files fanfic authors who were posting fic during the original run of the show. New interviews are posted every Tuesday.
Interview with Syntax6
Syntax6 has 17 stories at Gossamer, but you should visit her website for the complete collection of her fics and to see the cover art that comes with many of the stories (and to find her pro writing!). She's written some of the most beloved casefiles in the fandom. I've recced literally all of them here before. Twice. Big thanks to Syntax6 for doing this interview.
Does it surprise you that people are still interested in reading your X-Files fanfics and others that were posted during the original run of the show (1993-2002)?
I’m delighted but not surprised because I’ve written and read fanfic for shows even older than XF. Also, I joined the XF fandom relatively late, at the end of 1999, so there were already hundreds of “classic” fics out there, stories that were theoretically superseded or dated by canon developments that came after them, but which nonetheless remained compelling in their own right. That is the beauty of fanfic: it is inspired by its original creators but not bound by them. It’s a world of “what if” and each story gets to run in a new direction, irrespective of the canon and all the other stories spinning off in their own universes. In this way, fanfic becomes almost timeless.
What do you think of when you think about your X-Files fandom experience? What did you take away from it? What did you take away from your experience with X-Files fic or with the fandom in general?
(I feel these are similar, at least for me, so I will combine them here.)
First and foremost, I found friends. There was a table full of XF fanfic writers at my wedding. Bugs was my maid of honor. I still talk to someone from XF fandom pretty much every day. Lysandra, Maybe Amanda, Michelle Kiefer, bugs…these are just some of the people who’ve been part of my life for half my existence now. Sometimes I get to have dinner with Audrey Roget or Anjou or MCA. Deb Wells and Sarah Ellen Parsons are part of my pro fic beta team. I have a similar list from the Hunter fandom, terrific people who have enriched my life in numerous ways and I am honored to count as friends.
Second, I learned a lot about writing during my years in XF fandom. I grew up there. Part of this growth experience was simply due to practice. I wrote about 1.2 million words of XF fanfic, which is the equivalent of 15 novels. I made mistakes and learned from them. But another essential part of learning is absorbing different kinds of well-told tales, and XF had these in spades. Some stories were funny. Others were lyrical. Some were short pieces with nary a word wasted while others were sprawling epics that took you on an adventure. The neat thing about XF is that it has space for many different kinds of stories, from hard-core sci-fi to historical romance. You can watch other authors executing these varied pieces and learn from them. You can form critique groups and ask for betas and get direct feedback on how to improve. It’s collaborative and fun, and this can’t be underestimated, generally supportive. The underlying shared love of the original product means that everyone comes into your work predisposed to enjoy it. I am grateful for all the encouragement and the critiques I received over my years in fandom.
Finally, I think a valuable lesson for writers that you can find in fandom, but not in your local author critique group, is how to handle yourself when your work goes public. Not everyone is going to like your work and they will make sure you know it. Some people will like it maybe too much, to the point where they cross boundaries. Learning to disengage yourself from public reaction to your work is a difficult but crucial aspect of being a writer. You control the story. You can’t control reaction to it. It’s frustrating at first, perhaps, but in the end, it’s freeing.
Social media didn't really exist during the show's original run. How were you most involved with the X-Files online (atxc, message board, email mailing list, etc.)?
I participated in ATXC, the Haven message boards, and the Scullyfic mailing list/news group. For a number of years, I also ran a fic discussion group with bugs called The Why Incision.
What got you involved with X-Files fanfic?
I started reading XF fanfic before I began watching the show. I had watched one season two episode (Soft Light) and then seen bits and pieces of a few others from season four. I’d seen Fight the Future. Basically, I’d seen enough to know which one was Mulder and which one was Scully, and which one believed in aliens. An acquaintance linked me to a rec site for XF fanfic (Gertie’s, maybe?) so that I could see how fic was formatted for the web. I clicked a fic, I think it was one by Lydia Bower dealing with Scully’s cancer arc, and basically did not stop reading. Soon I was printing off 300K of fic to take home with me each night. I could not believe the level of talent in the fandom, and that there were so many excellent writers just giving away their works for free. I wanted to play in this sandbox, too, so I started renting the VHS tapes to catch up on old episodes (see, I am An Old). After a few months, I began writing my own stuff.
What was it that got you hooked on the X-Files as a show?
I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to The X-Files. I’m not a sci-fi person by nature. I think my main objection is that, when done poorly, it feels lazy to me. Who did the thing? A ghost! Maybe an alien? I guess we’ll never know. You can always just shrug and play some spooky music and the “truth will always be out there…” somewhere beyond the story in front of you. You never have to commit to any kind of truth because you can invent some magical power or new kind of alien to change the story. I think, by the bitter end, the XF had devolved into this kind of storytelling. The mytharc made no kind of sense even in its own universe. But for years the XF achieved the best aspects of sci-fi storytelling—narrative flexibility and an apotheosis of our current fears dressed up as a super entertaining yarn.
What eventually sold me on the XF as a show is all of the smart storytelling and the sheer amount of ideas contained within its run. At its best, it’s a brilliant show. You have mediations on good versus evil, the role of government in a free society, is there a God, are we alone in the universe, and what are the elements that make us who we are? If Mulder and Morris Fletcher switch bodies, how do we know it’s really “them”? The tonal shifts from week to week were clever and engaging. For Vince Gilligan, truth was always found in fellow human beings. For Darin Morgan, humans were the biggest monster of all. The show was big enough to contain both these premises, and indeed, was stronger for it. The deep questions, the character quirks, the unsolved mysteries and all that went unsaid in the Mulder-Scully relationship left so much room for fanfic writers to do their own work. As such, the fandom attracted and continues to attract both dabbling writers and those who are serious craftspeople. People who like the mystery and those who like the sci-fi angle. Scientists and true believers. Like the show, it’s big enough for all.
What is your relationship like now to X-Files fandom?
I look at it like an old friend I catch up with once in a while. We’ve been close for so long that there’s no awkwardness—we just get each other! I love seeing people post screen shots and commentary, and I think it’s wonderful that so many writers are still inventing new adventures for Mulder and Scully. That is how the characters live on, and indeed how any of us lives on, through the stories that others tell about us.
Were you involved with any fandoms after the X-Files? If so, what was it like compared to X-Files?
I ran the Hunter fandom for about five years, mostly because when I poked my head back in, I found the person in change was a bully who’d shut down everything due to her own waning interest. A person would try to start a topic for discussion, and she’d say, “We’ve already covered that.” Well, yes, in a 30-year-old show, there’s not a lot of new ground…
Most other shows, Hunter included, have smaller fandoms and thus don’t attract the depth of fan talent. I don’t just mean fanfic writers. I mean those who do visual art, fan vids, critiques, etc. The XF fandom has all these in droves, which makes it a rare and special place. But all fandoms have the particular joy of geeking out over favorite scenes and reveling in the meeting of shared minds. It will always look odd to those not contained within it, which brings me to the part of modern fandom I find somewhat uncomfortable…the creators are often in fan-space.
In Hunter, the female lead joins fan groups and participates. This is more common now in the age of social media, where writers, producers, actors, etc., are on the same platforms as the rest of us. Fan and creator interaction used to be highly circumscribed: fans wrote letters and maybe received a signed headshot in return. There were cons where show runners gave panels and took questions from the audience. You could stand in line to meet your favorite star. Now, you can @ your favorite star on Twitter, message her on Facebook or follow him on Instagram. In some ways, this is so fun! In other ways, it blurs in the lines in ways that make me uncomfortable. I think it’s rude, for example, if a fan were to go on a star’s social media and post fanfic there or say, “I thought the episode you wrote was terrible.” But what if it’s fan space and the actor is sitting right there, watching you? Is it rude to post fanfic in front of her, especially if she says it makes her uncomfortable? Is it mean to tell a writer his episode sucked right to his face?
Do you ever still watch The X-Files or think about Mulder and Scully?
I own the first seven seasons on DVD and will pull them out from time to time to rewatch old faves. I’ve shown a few episodes over the spring and summer to my ten-year-old daughter, and it’s been fun to see the series through her eyes. We’ve mostly opted for the comedic episodes because there’s enough going on in the real world to give her nightmares. Her favorite so far is Je Souhaite.
Do you ever still read X-Files fic? Fic in another fandom?
I don’t have much bandwidth to read fanfic these days. My job as a mystery/thriller author means I have to keep up with the market so I do most of my reading there right now. I also beta read for some pro-fic friends and betaing a novel will keep you busy.
Do you have any favorite X-Files fanfic stories or authors?
I read so much back in the day that this answer could go on for pages. Alas, it also hasn’t changed much over the past fifteen years because I haven’t read much since then. But, as we’re talking Golden Oldies today, here are a bunch:
All the Mulders, by Alloway I find this short story both hilarious and haunting. Scully embraces her power in the upside down post-apocalyptic world.
Strangers and the Strange Dead, by Kipler Taut prose and an intriguing 3rd party POV make this story a winner, and that’s before the kicker of an ending, which presaged 1013’s.
Cellphone, by Marasmus Talk about your killer twists! Also one of the cleverest titles coming or going.
Arizona Highways, by Fialka I think this is one of the best-crafted stories to come out of the XF. It’s majestic in scope, full of complex literary structure and theme, and yet the plot moves like a runaway freight train. Both the Mulder and Scully characterizations are handled with tender care.
So, We Kissed, by Alelou What I love about this one is how it grounds Mulder and Scully in the ordinary. Mulder’s terrible secret doesn’t involve a UFO or some CSM-conspiracy. Scully goes to therapy that actually looks like therapy. I guess what I’m saying is that I utterly believe this version of M & S in addition to just enjoying reading about them.
Sore Luck at the Luxor, by Anubis Hot, funny, atmospheric. What’s not to love?
Black Hole Season, by Penumbra Nobody does wordsmithing like Penumbra. I use her in arguments with professional writers when they try to tell me that adverbs and adjectives MUST GO. Just gorgeous, sly, insightful prose.
The Dreaming Sea, by Revely This one reads like a fairytale in all the best ways. Revely creates such loving, beautiful worlds for M & S to live in, and I wish they could stay there always.
Malus Genius, by Plausible Deniability and MaybeAmanda Funny and fun, with great original characters, a sly casefile and some clear-eyed musings on the perils of getting older. This one resonates more and more the older I get. ;)
Riding the Whirlpool, by Pufferdeux I look this one up periodically to prove to people that it exists. Scully gets off on a washing machine while Mulder helps. Yet it’s in character? And kinda works? This one has to be read to be believed.
Bone of Contention (part 1, part 2), by Michelle Kiefer and Kel People used to tell me all the time that casefiles are super easy to write while the poetic vignette is hard. Well, I can’t say which is harder but there much fewer well-done casefiles in the fandom than there are poetic vignettes. This is one of the great ones.
Antidote, by Rachel Howard A fic that manages to be both hot and cold as it imagines Mulder and Scully trying to stay alive in the frosty wilderness while a deadly virus is on the loose. This is an ooooold fic that holds up impressively well given everything that followed it!
Falling Down in Four Acts, by Anubis Anubis was actually a bunch of different writers sharing a single author name. This particular one paints an angry, vivid world for Our Heroes and their compatriots. There is no happy ending here, but I read this once and it stayed with me forever.
The Opposite of Impulse, by Maria Nicole A sweet slice of life on a sunny day. When I imagine a gentler universe for Mulder and Scully, this is the kind of place I’d put them.
What is your favorite of your own fics, X-Files and/or otherwise?
Bait and Switch is probably the most sophisticated and tightly plotted. It was late in my fanfic “career” and so it shows the benefits to all that learning. My favorite varies a lot, but I’ll say Universal Invariants because that one was nothing but fun.
Do you think you'll ever write another X-Files story? Or dust off and post an oldie that for whatever reason never made it online?
I never say never! I don’t have any oldies sitting around, though. Everything I wrote, I posted.
Do you still write fic now? Or other creative work?
I write casefiles…er, I mean mysteries, under my own name now, Joanna Schaffhausen. My main series with Reed and Ellery consists of a male-female crime solving team, so I get a little bit of my XF kick that way. Their first book, The Vanishing Season, started its life as an XF fanfic back in the day. I had to rewrite it from the ground up to get it published, but if you know both stories, you can spot the similarities.
Where do you get ideas for stories?
The answer any writer will tell you is “everywhere.” Ideas are cheap and they’re all around us—on the news, on the subway, in conversations with friends, from Twitter memes, on a walk through the woods. My mysteries are often rooted in true crime, often more than one of them.
Each idea is like a strand of colored thread, and you have to braid them together into a coherent story. This is the tricky part, determining which threads belong in which story. If the ideas enhance one another or if they just create an ugly tangent.
Mostly, though, stories begin by asking “what if?” What if Scully’s boyfriend Ethan had never been cut from the pilot? What if Scully had moved to Utah after Fight the Future? What if the Lone Gunmen financed their toys by writing a successful comic book starring a thinly veiled Mulder and Scully?
Growing up, I had a sweet old lady for a neighbor. Her name was Doris and she gave me coffee ice cream while we watched Wheel of Fortune together. Every time there was a snow storm, the snow melted in her backyard in a such way that suggested she had numerous bodies buried out there. How’s that for a “what if?”
What's the story behind your pen name?
I’ve had a few of them and honestly can’t tell you where they came from, it’s been so long ago. The “6” part of syntax6 is because I joke that 6 is my lucky number. In eighth grade, my algebra teacher would go around the room in order, asking each student their answer to the previous night’s homework problems. I realized quickly that I didn’t have to do all the problems, just the fifteenth one because my desk was 15th on her list. This worked well until the day she decided to call on kids in random order. When she got to me and asked me the answer to the problem I had not done, I just invented something on the spot. “Uh…six?”
Her: “You mean 0.6, don’t you?”
Me, nodding vigorously: “YES, I DO.”
Her: “Very good. Moving on…”
Do your friends and family know about your fic and, if so, what have been their reactions?
My close friends and family have always known, and reactions have varied from mild befuddlement to enthusiastic support. My father voted in the Spookies one year, and you can believe he read the nominated stories before casting his vote. I think the most common reaction was: Why are you doing this for free? Why aren’t you trying to be a paid writer?
Well, having done both now, I can tell you that each kind of writing brings its own rewards. Fanfic is freeing because there is no pressure to make money from it. You can take risks and try new things and not have to worry if it fits into your business plan.

larry songs on walls
!!! | i’m not going to include the complete lyrics of all the songs so for a better understanding, look for them. all the songs were written by louis and other composers.
masterpost
HABIT
harry is the habit that louis can’t break
“i always said that i’d mess up eventually i told you that, so what did you expect from me? it shouldn’t come as no surprise anymore i know you said that you'd give me another chance but you and i knew the truth of it in advance that mentally you were already out the door”
the first part talks about how louis always thought he was going to ruin everything and that he didn’t know what harry expected of him, harry tells him that it doesn’t matter if he makes a mistake or they fight, he will give him more opportunities, they both knew that in the end, they were going to apologize but first they were probably going to have a fight where one of them leaves to not continue fighting (by leaving i mean literally going out the door and going somewhere else to calm the mind to not say things that they will regret later, i don’t mean to break up).
“i took some time ‘cause i’ve ran out of energy of playing someone i heard i’m supposed to be but honestly, i don’t have to choose anymore”
here he literally says that he got tired of pretending to be someone he is not, which refers to the role of straight image they put on him.
“and it's been ages, different stages come so far from princess park i’ll always need ya in front of me, in front of me”
this is the clearest reference to harry in the entire album as it mentions princess park, the first place harry and louis lived together. it basically says that he always need him, at every moment, at every stage.
bonus: stages is a wordplay because louis and harry literally went from stage to stage together singing and through stages of life.
“you gave me the time and the space, i was out of control and i’m sorry, i let you down guess that i know what i already knew, i was better with you, and i miss you now”
this part talks about a fight. they fought and as the beginning said, the one who “walked through the door” was harry, he left time and space for both of them to think. louis regrets it and feels that he disappointed him because even though he knows harry is going to forgive him, he feels responsible for everything. “i guess i know what i already knew” he talks about how every time a fight ends he realizes again that harry is the one, it’s something that he always knew and will know, but every time they fight is a thought that reinforces. the last part talks about the fear of losing him after fighting and how he only wants to see him to fix things, how the minutes for him are hours and that all he thinks about is him.
ALWAYS YOU
it was always harry
STUNT LYRIC IN ALWAYS YOU
“i went to amsterdam without you and all i could do was think about you” (...) “drink after drink but i still felt alone, i should’ve known”
the first part is iconic because louis went to amsterdam with eleanor in mid-2017 (x) and shortly afterwards he wrote the song. the second part talks about how lonely he feels when he isn’t with harry and how he drowns his absence in alcohol.
“walked through my door but it felt nothing like home ‘cause you're not home waiting to wrap your legs around me”
here is a word that describes louis and harry's relationship: home. the lyrics talk about how louis gets home when harry isn’t there (because he's traveling, he's giving a show, etc) and he doesn't feel like home because his home is harry, not a house.
TOO YOUNG
they were too young to realize everything
STUNT LYRIC IN TOO YOUNG
“we were too young to know we had everything” (...) “i wish i could’ve seen it all along i’m sorry that I hurt you, darling”
the first lyric talks about two things: how at the beginning of their relationship (until the end of 2011) they, even though they couldn't make it official, had few limitations for certain things such as tweets, flirting, hints, etc. and about what they lived together in one direction in general, they sang and traveled around the world together and at that moment they hadn’t realized how beautiful it was to be able to spend so much time together. in the second part louis blames himself for not having been able to see everything that was going to happen to them from the beginning (which is crazy because they were kids when everything started, so he should never blame himself for anything because the closeting is not his fault) and apologizes to harry for letting other people hurt him so much.
“i’ve been looking back a lot lately me and you is all i’ve ever known it’s hard to think you could ever hate me but everything’s feeling different now”
at one point louis came to think that harry hated him for all the damage that he “allowed” to be done to him (clearly not literal hate but he refers to anger/sadness) but now he looks back at those moments where he thought that and he knows it wasn’t that way, and now that he is older, he realizes that it was never his fault and he no longer feels that harry "hates" him for everything they happened. (it should be clarified that louis thought that harry was mad with him for that, that doesn’t mean that harry really felt that way, maybe it was only a perception of louis).
“oh, i can’t believe i gave into the pressure when they said a love like this would never last so i cut you off ‘cause i didn’t know no better now i realise yeah, i realise”
he talks about how at one point he believed what they told him about being with harry, when the closeting just started, surely before putting beards on them and everything, they talked to them to convince them to not be together because they weren't going to make it, louis really believed that it was something wrong with loving harry and that they weren’t going to make it, that's why he told him that maybe wasn’t a good idea to have a relationship, harry clearly made him see reason and that’s why at the end he says “now i realize”, which means that louis can't believe he thought it was wrong to be with harry and he can't believe he actually talked to him about it.
“face to face at the kitchen table this is everything i waited for now we can finally have the conversation that i wish we could’ve had before”
the first part talks about them being at home (“kitchen table” they also use it to refer to “home”) and they sat down to talk about all the shit they were going through, with “that conversation” he doesn’t refer to a discussion where they wondered if they loved each other or not, in that conversation they shared pain and frustration and both gave each other support.
WE MADE IT
they made it, together
STUNT LYRIC IN WE MADE IT
“‘cause we made it, underestimated and always underrated” (...) “knew that we would be alright, from the first time” (...) “never coming down with your hand in mine”
here there is a connection with too young: in too young he talks about how they were told they were never going to make it and here he talks about how they did it despite everything they were told, while they are together, nothing can bring them down.
“we were only kids, just tryna work it out wonder what they'd think if they could see us now”
another connection with too young: they were just kids trying to deal with closeting, they made it and now they wonder what those who told them they were never going to make it think.
bonus: “if they could see us now” eleanor and louis are a public couple, everyone can see and know about them...
“don’t know why they put this all on us when we’re so young done a pretty good job, dealing with it all when you’re here don’t need to say no more nothing in the world that i would change it for”
another reference to too young: he doesn’t understand why they put so much pressure and responsibility on them when they were so young. then he talks about how when he is with harry he handles the situation very well and that even though he has a horrible time in the industry, he would choose a thousand times to go through it just to be with him.
PERFECT NOW
harry love, you will always be perfect for me
to begin with, i want to say that its the only song with pronouns on walls, this data is not minor since it means that he intentionally wanted to highlight the feminine gender (he could have made it neutral as well but no, he decided to use feminine pronouns). harry gave us plenty of proof that he also uses feminine pronouns and louis was not far behind.
in my opinion the lyrics are quite obvious, they talk about harry’s insecurities and how louis tells her to not stop being who she is and that everything about her is perfect.
he talks about the clothes, about how maybe harry, no matter how open she seems, is still afraid to dress as she would like when she is with friends/family; he talks about the fear she has of doing things she loves, like dancing; he talks about she not wanting to attract attention, wanting to hide, etc.
its a beautiful love song, we can see how in love louis is and that he doesnt care about the pronouns or the clothes, he will always love her and he will be there to help her in her insecurities. (x) (x)
DEFENCELESS
im defenceless, i got so much to lose
“i come runnin’ to you like a moth into a flame you tell me, “take it easy”, but it’s easier to say “wish i didn’t need so much of you” i hate to say, but i do we’re sleepin’ on our problems like we’ll solve them in our dreams we wake up early morning and they’re still under the sheets i’m lost in my head, i’m spinnin’ again tryna find what to say to you”
this song literally talks about closeting. first he talks about how when louis gets angry about something they have to do (for the stunts) harry tells him to take it easy to which louis responds that its easier if he told him that he wishes he didn’t love him so much. he hates to say that it would be easier if they didn't love each other, but he knows that its true. then he speaks in the plural (this is important because he remarks that its a problem that both of them go through) saying that they both sleep waiting to get up and seeing that everything is solved. and finally, he talks about how louis is constantly thinking of solutions and consolations for both of them.
“been up all night, all night, runnin’ all my lines but it’s only the truth been up all night, not sure how to say this right got so much to lose”
“never been so defenceless (oh-oh) never been so defenceless (ooh-ooh) you just keep on buildin’up your fences (oh-oh) but i’ve never been so defenceless (ooh-ooh) [...]”
he spent the whole night going over everything he has to solve, everything he has to say to pretend; he doesn’t know how to say it because he knows that if he says it he has so much to lose. (this is literally a lyric about coming out of the closet, no explanation needed) he says he feels defenceless despite seeing harry building his way to the end, that no matter that he sees the light at the end of the tunnel, he feels vulnerable.
“no, you don’t have to keep on being strong for me and you acting like you feel no pain, you know i know you do and i can’t get inside when you’re lost in your pride but you don’t have a thing to prove”
he tells harry to stop pretending that nothing affects him because he knows that he suffered as much as he does, he told him to open up so he can help him and not let his pride win.
“i hope that i’m not asking too much just wanna be loved by you (don’t you be so defensive) and i’m too tired to be tough just wanna be loved by you”
does this need explanation? it’s louis telling harry that he doesn’t care about anything anymore and he just wants to be loved by him.
ONLY THE BRAVE
louis in love has to be brave
this song doesn’t talk about harry, it talks about louis’ sexuality but it seemed right to include it since i see the importance and relationship to his relationship with him.
“pour mercy, mercy on me set fire to history i’m breaking my own rules i’m crying like a fool tall stories on the page short glories on the fade i’ve been close enough to touch but i never cared for love”
“pour mercy, mercy on me” “i’m breaking my own rules” and “i’m crying like a fool” refer to the fact that louis suffered a lot when he discovered his sexuality and had a stage of self-denial, not everyone accepts themselves at first. “set fire history” and “tall stories on the page” talks of how historically homosexuality was not accepted. “shot glories on the fade i’ve been close enough to touch” talks about the times he felt close to coming out but never ending happening. “but i never cared for love” he never cared about loving the way he was taught: heterosexual.
“it’s a church of burnt romances and i’m too far gone to pray it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave”
first he talks about the church (we already know the church's opinion on homosexuality) the phrase “burnt romances” talks about all gay couples who couldn’t be together because society prohibited them (it was also very normal in ancient times to burn homosexuals at the stake and you can refer to that too, it’s a sensitive theme but it makes sense). “i’m too far gone to pray” talks about being far from what the church expects and feels that god wouldn’t listen to you. “it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave” is a song for people who, even though they feel lonely, are brave.
to clarify: heterosexual people don’t have to be brave to love, heterosexuals are accepted throughout the world and they don’t have laws that harm them or millions of people who think they are sick. saying that heterosexuals also have to be brave to love is homophobic.
“if the truth tell darling, you feel like there ain’t enough dying stars in your sky it’s a tall tale and it’s only hello, hello, no goodbye (goodbye)”
the first part talks about how by saying your true orientation you lose many people, the “dying stars” are the people who leaves you and “your sky” is your life. the second part talks about the homophobic “arguments” that people say when you show yourself as you are and that no matter what they tell you, you are still who you are. (tall tale=very exaggerated story)
“pour mercy, mercy on me i’ll fall upon my knees and they’ll say, “i told you so” come on, when you know, you know”
at the moment that he can’t take it anymore and “fall to his knees” (come out of the closet) and lose many people, there will be someone who will say “i told you that you shouldn’t say it”, he knows it was the right thing to do, but he also knows that they are partly right, they told him and he still decided to be free.
“all the lonely shadow dances from the cradle to the grave it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave”
you are who you are from the moment you are born until you die, is a song for people who, even though they feel lonely, are brave.
clearly this is just my interpretation, their interpretations are also equally valid (as long as they can be justified obviously) there is no correct interpretation so if they interpret it differently it’s also fine

HABIT
original
“i always said that i’d mess up eventually i told you that, so what did you expect from me? it shouldn’t come as no surprise anymore i know you said that you'd give me another chance but you and i knew the truth of it in advance that mentally you were already out the door”
original
“i took some time ‘cause i’ve ran out of energy of playing someone i heard i’m supposed to be but honestly, i don’t have to choose anymore”
original
“and it's been ages, different stages come so far from princess park i’ll always need ya in front of me, in front of me”
original
“you gave me the time and the space, i was out of control and i’m sorry, i let you down guess that i know what i already knew, i was better with you, and i miss you now”
ALWAYS YOU
siempre fue harry
STUNT LYRIC EN ALWAYS YOU
original
“i went to amsterdam without you and all i could do was think about you” (...) “drink after drink but i still felt alone, i should’ve known”
original
“walked through my door but it felt nothing like home ‘cause you're not home waiting to wrap your legs around me”
TOO YOUNG
STUNT LYRIC EN TOO YOUNG
original
“we were too young to know we had everything” (...) “i wish i could’ve seen it all along i’m sorry that I hurt you, darling”
original
“i’ve been looking back a lot lately me and you is all i’ve ever known it’s hard to think you could ever hate me but everything’s feeling different now”
original
“oh, i can’t believe i gave into the pressure when they said a love like this would never last so i cut you off ‘cause i didn’t know no better now i realise yeah, i realise”
original
“face to face at the kitchen table this is everything i waited for now we can finally have the conversation that i wish we could’ve had before”
WE MADE IT
lo hicieron, juntos
STUNT LYRIC EN WE MADE IT
original
“‘cause we made it, underestimated and always underrated” (...) “knew that we would be alright, from the first time” (...) “never coming down with your hand in mine”
original
“we were only kids, just tryna work it out wonder what they'd think if they could see us now”
original
“don’t know why they put this all on us when we’re so young done a pretty good job, dealing with it all when you’re here don’t need to say no more nothing in the world that i would change it for”
PERFECT NOW
DEFENCELESS
estoy indefenso, tengo tanto que perder
original
“i come runnin’ to you like a moth into a flame you tell me, “take it easy”, but it’s easier to say “wish i didn’t need so much of you” i hate to say, but i do. we’re sleepin’ on our problems like we’ll solve them in our dreams we wake up early morning and they’re still under the sheets i’m lost in my head, i’m spinnin’ again tryna find what to say to you”
original
“been up all night, all night, runnin’ all my lines but it’s only the truth been up all night, not sure how to say this right got so much to lose”
“never been so defenceless (oh-oh) never been so defenceless (ooh-ooh) you just keep on buildin’up your fences (oh-oh) but i’ve never been so defenceless (ooh-ooh) [...]”
“nunca he estado tan indefenso (oh-oh) nunca he estado tan indefenso (ooh-ooh) sigues construyendo tus cercas (oh-oh) pero nunca he estado tan indefenso (ooh-ooh) [...]”
original
“no, you don’t have to keep on being strong for me and you acting like you feel no pain, you know i know you do and i can’t get inside when you’re lost in your pride but you don’t have a thing to prove”
original
“i hope that i’m not asking too much just wanna be loved by you (don’t you be so defensive) and i’m too tired to be tough just wanna be loved by you”
ONLY THE BRAVE
original
“pour mercy, mercy on me set fire to history i’m breaking my own rules i’m crying like a fool tall stories on the page short glories on the fade i’ve been close enough to touch but i never cared for love”
original
“it’s a church of burnt romances and i’m too far gone to pray it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave”
original
“if the truth tell darling, you feel like there ain’t enough dying stars in your sky it’s a tall tale and it’s only hello, hello, no goodbye (goodbye)”
original
“pour mercy, mercy on me i’ll fall upon my knees and they’ll say, “i told you so” come on, when you know, you know”
original
“all the lonely shadow dances from the cradle to the grave it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave”
