Top 7 ways of learning a guitar
I think we all are familiar with the feeling we get when we listen to a very soothing and pleasing song and wish that we could also play it. That feeling is so strong that the incapability of playing the guitar almost makes us sad and angry. That’s when we decide to learn the instrument.
Learning to play guitar is not easy, and you cannot expect yourself to learn it in a few days. At first, you can get annoyed, and frustrated if you are not guided properly. But remember that things take time. Patience and practice is the key to learning things effectively. In this blog, I will list some ways for you to learn a guitar as a beginner.
Tumblr media
Start with the basics.
As a beginner don’t rush to learn the most difficult of pieces. You have to crawl first before you learn to walk. Whether you are learning on your own or taking guitar classes nearby, it's best to learn and practice the basics before moving on to more advanced techniques.
Learning the names of your strings and the various guitar parts will help you become more familiar with your instrument, even though it may not be as thrilling as taking your first solo or playing the chords to your favorite song.
Find a guitar that best suits you.
Whether you are learning to play acoustic or electric guitar, finding the right instrument is crucial. Shopping for your first guitar is an exciting experience for most of us. You might be tempted to buy a guitar purely for its looks, but there are other factors that need to be considered such as your budget, the type of tone you prefer, whether you are left-handed or right-handed, etc.
Develop the right learning environment.
If you want to learn guitar dedicatedly, then setting up the right learning environment is a must. Whether you are learning guitar at home or at a guitar school in Noida, having conducive conditions can make a lot of difference. Make sure that your guitar is well-displayed, you have the perfect chair for sitting, and there is absolute quiet in your room.
Upskill by learning simple songs.
The foundations of your musical education undoubtedly include learning to play notes, scales, and chords. But using those methods in a song you're learning is the best way to learn guitar. There are tons of songs to choose from. Learn to play the easy ones first, then move on to some challenging ones.
Learn with other newbies.
The best way to boost your morale is to train and learn with other beginners. It gives you an opportunity to connect with others and learn from their skills. Being able to connect with other artists and music enthusiasts can help keep you more inspired to play, practice, and support one another.
Practice.
Practice makes a man perfect. Well, I think practice makes you better. Don’t rush to become perfect. Instead, try to be better than what you were yesterday. Your competition should be you. Don’t waste your time comparing yourself with others.
Enroll in a guitar school.
If you are looking for a disciplined and professional way of learning to play guitar, then try enrolling in guitar classes near you. They will provide you with the best environment, instruments, and instructors to help you fulfill your journey of becoming a guitarist.

In the beginning of Given, Uenoyama talks about how it took him a while to be able to play the guitar how he wanted. Uenoyama plays a Fender '72 Custom Shop Telecaster. At first I did not know the significance of this line, but after having attempted to play a telecaster twice I can tell you that bitch does not make any of the sounds you want it to, nor that you would expect it to, and that line actually points to this fact and tells the audience exactly how skilled Uenoyama is on the guitar.

pairing: joel miller x reader
description: in which, joel teaches you how to play a song on the guitar.
tags: fluff, established relationship, fem!reader, contractor!joel makes a brief appearance, no outbreak au, age gap, r has hair long enough to twirl but thats it for appearances, so so sweet, some singing, joel makes a dirty joke (i couldn't help myself) hozier mentioned!! and played... by a certain someone, and riptide as the song r learns, one mention of a dead parent.
a/n: my second joel teaching reader fic, this is very telling... also! should this be more frequent? my requests are open if you have any suggestions? i'm self taught when it comes to guitar, where tf was joel miller to teach me...
wc: 1.6k
Tumblr media
“could you teach me?”
joel's head doesn’t lift up from his plans, long blue scrolls stretched across the table. “teach you what, baby?” he murmurs absentmindedly.
“a song. on your guitar,” you answer, voice small.
he looks at you now, his expression mildly shocked. you seem to have garnered his full attention, though it wasn't difficult when it came to you, he let go of the corner of paper that he had pinned to the hard surface.
“i've been tryin’ to get you to play for months now,” he replies, not irritated but curious. “why the change of heart?”
“oh, i don't know. i just think it’d be nice to have a skill that i can credit to you.” you know the justification isn’t necessary and you know he knows that. he’ll do it regardless, anything for his girl.
a wry smile plays on his lips. “i’ve taught you plenty’a skills,” he says, not oblivious to the innuendo that clung to his statement.
you huff out a chuckle, “not like that, silly.”
you watch him walk over to you. his hands plant themselves on your shoulders, thumbs caressing lightly in the divots of your collarbones before turning you around.
“let's go.”
“what? now?” you ask, although you don't stop him as he gently pushes you to the living room as he follows with his hands still on you.
“got other plans?” he sits you down on the couch, moving across the room to grab the instrument.
“no,” you respond, smiling when he sits to your right. he's angled slightly so you can see his hands. it's how you're usually positioned when he plays you stuff so he can watch you but this time it's more for your benefit.
“d’ya have a song in mind?”
you hum in thought, trying to recall songs he's played. they all seem difficult. “something easy?” you suggest.
“‘s a little cliche but a good beginner song,” he says as he starts to play.
recognition dawns on you, he's playing riptide. he quietly hums, a low timbre to the verse. you want to melt.
“i love it when you play,” you murmur, dropping your head to his shoulder.
“i love playin’ for you, sweetheart,” he replies, letting a chord fade out and handing you the guitar with a soft “c’mon.”
the instrument feels big in your arms as you rest your elbow over the base of it. it's not that you forget how much bigger joel is to you but in this instance it becomes painfully obvious. he guides your other hand to the neck, curling it around the wood.
“okay, so riptide consists of three chords. a minor, g and c and it's the same strummin’ pattern all the way through,” he explains, moving your fingers to the first chord shape.
he places your fingers over different fret boards and you try to remember each one as he moves on to the next. you give an experimental strum to one chord and sounds with an unpleasant pitchy buzz. your face screws up and he chuckles lightly.
“you have to press hard enough so you get a clear tone, but not too much, just enough that it's firm against the fret,” he says, covering your hand with his own and pushing down.
“ow,” you gripe as the strings dig into your fingertips.
“sorry, baby. s’gonna hurt like hell for now, need to build up your calluses for it to not.”
“it's fine,” you reply, partially distracted by how his calloused fingertips rub against the back of your hand, trailing down to allow you to try again.
you do, pressing a little harder, ignoring the pain. when you strum again it comes out a bit clearer, still buzzy, but better than before.
you spend the next 30 minutes trying to switch chords, a feat more difficult than you thought it would be. you almost rage quit five times but joel's soothing encouragement urges you to keep trying.
“how do you do this so easily?” you whine, leaning back on him. he's sitting a little behind you now, as you've moved to the edge of the couch.
“playing for 20 years helps,” he says with a little shrug, rubbing your arm.
“careful, mister. you're showing your age,” you warn teasingly and he chuckles, that same warm one that you love so much.
“good to try some stummin’ now?”
“mhm,” you sit straight again.
he crowds in behind you, arm coming to rest above your right one. he has a gentle grasp on your wrist and your palm as he directs your movements along the strings; down, down, up down up, he murmurs quietly in your ear, moving your hand accordingly.
you get the hang of it, you think. stumbling here and there when you do a down instead of an up, or the opposite. he watches as you intently strum, his fingers keeping the strings muted by touching them lightly. your hand, not on the neck anymore, rests on his thigh.
“keep going,” he whispers, kissing your shoulder. “you’re doin’ good.”
he lifts his fingers off the strings, and they start to resonate with uneven tones. but then a very distinct note rings out and you realise he's started to play the chords while you strum. it sounds good. you look at him and smile, and he shoots you an equally bright grin, crows feet deepening proudly.
“there we go,” he spurs as your strumming stays perfectly consistent. you hum the melody as he effortlessly switches chords, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he does so. “wanna try doin’ both at the same time?”
you stop, your wrist growing a little tired. “tomorrow.”
“okay, sweet girl.” he takes the guitar out of your arms and leans it against the couch.
he instinctively wraps around you when you curl into his side, scooting further back into the couch. his fingers play with the hair at the nape of your neck, it makes you squirm because it tickles and he laughs. the same low and warm one again, his chest vibrates with the sound as you press your ear to it. you can hear his heart beat in steady thumps. he leans his head against yours, the faint scent of his cologne lingering in the space between you. his free hand settles on your leg, his thumb lazily tracing small, aimless patterns.
“can't believe i've never asked this,” you ask, suddenly curious. “how did you learn how to play?”
he tenses ever so slightly before easing again.
“y’know my dad died when i was young, right?”
“yeah,” you confirm, lifting your head so you can see his face.
“well, he used to play all the time and after he passed my mom let me have his guitar,” he explains, twirling a strand of your hair with his fingers. he stares absentmindedly at your shoulder, but his gaze is solemn leaving you no reason to worry.
“took me ‘bout a year to pick the damn thing up ‘cause everytime i did it reminded me of him but when i finally did, i spent days on end teachin’ myself. didn't want a teacher or nothin’. if anythin', i wanted him to teach me but i never took up his offer when he was alive.”
“sweet,” you whisper, bottom lip jutting out sadly.
“you’re sweet,” he counters, tapping your nose with his finger. it wrinkles up at the contact and you pull away to reach for his guitar. you hand it to him, perking up in anticipation.
“play me ‘like real people do’?” you request, knowing smile on your lips.
only you could get mumblin’ grumblin’ joel miller to learn a hozier song. it took a bit of convincing, to which he would reply with begrudging grunts like it was the worst thing in the word. but he learned it surprisingly fast, playing it out of nowhere later that night.
“‘f you sing, then yeah.”
you nod and he shakes his head fondly as he begins to play. you’re not a singer by any means but you could keep a tune.
“i had a thought, dear, however scary about that night, the bugs and the dirt,” you begin softly, nodding along to the beat.
“why were you digging? what did you bury before those hands pulled me from the earth?”
his fingers effortlessly plucks the right strings without looking, his eyes fixed on you with a reverence that makes you nervous. must be muscle memory, you wonder how long it’ll take you to get that good.
“i will not ask you where you came from. i will not ask and neither should you.”
your head tilts to the side, smiling. you bring a hand up to his jaw, scratching his beard lightly in a way you know he likes. you lean closer for the next words.
“honey, just put your sweet lips on my lips. we should just kiss like real people do.”
so naturally, you kiss him, giggling as you do so. he nips at your bottom lip when he falters, you–the distraction–to blame.
it goes sweetly and quietly like that. you lean against his shoulder for the rest of the song, humming the melody. he doesn't mind, he just likes the sound of your voice, be it behind closed lips or not.
when the song ends, he freestyles a bit, you don’t know what he’s playing but it sounds nice. everything sounds nice, and smells nice and feels nice, you could probably die here and you’d be happy, so long as you could take joel with you.
“play more tomorrow?” he asks, still plucking away.
“yup,” you chirp, inadvertently agreeing to more frequent lessons by him. even though he doesn’t suggest it, it’s implied in your own secret little way, and how could you say no to an offer like that.
reblogs and replies are appreciated :) | m.list

hi! i am not sure if you will have good advice for this but your photography guide made me think about this issue. i grew up quite poor (school supplies were a struggle every september) and now as an adult i am not as financially stable as id like. this has made me very scared to use any art supplies because im always thinking that im wasting them on not good enough projects or not good enough skills or similar thinking. however that leads to me having supplies bc of gifts and whatnot (ie watercolor paper) but not using it out of anxiety. do you have any advice? thanks!
There are two ways that I go about getting over this kind of issue:
Get out the supplies right now and start making any marks. Cut a piece of watercolor paper in half. Draw a line down the center of a page in grease pencil. Do anything to just start using it to get over the "can't open it, must save for special occasions/projects" mindset. Once you've broken the seal on a first use, it's a lot easier to use tools or notebooks or paints a second time.
Plan projects for yourself like they're assignments. Give yourself a deadline and materials list, write it up like a school assignment sheet, and then do the assignment.
And, if it helps to think of it this way: you're likely hesitant to use your materials because you don't want them "going to waste," but at the moment they are being wasted because they aren't being used.
It is solidly my opinion that art supplies used for art are never wasted; not all "art" is meant to be kept and a part of the process of creating art is practice, which should lead to massive piles of clumsily made, "bad" art that you wouldn't want to hang up on the wall but is nonetheless a part of the process of making art that you'd want to hang on the wall.
You may be looking at the watercolor paper and thinking "I shouldn't break into this because each piece of this paper needs to be something special to show that I value this gift" but you don't get better at painting with watercolors if you use them on printer paper. You need to use the paper (and the paints, and your brushes) to maintain and improve your fluency with the medium.
Many people are hesitant to "waste" sketchbooks or good paper or canvas or expensive paint because they think they are throwing away the good things they *could* make if only the had the perfect plan and create the perfect piece of art with each page and each new tube.
But these things are consumables. Your sketchbook is not a guitar, and it is not a finished song, it is a set of strings. The lovely watercolor paper is a gift for you to make art with, but it is also a gift for you to *practice* making art with and the practice is just as much a part of the gift as a finished artwork would be.
So you're not wasting it if you just get out your paper and start painting with no plan, or if you "mess up" a piece, or if you just use the paper for practice.
So, if you're trying to get yourself to use watercolor paper specifically, I have an assignment for you:
Watercolor Thumbnails Assignment
Materials: Watercolor paper, 2 colors of paint (your choice), Hard pencil Tools: Ruler, Small and medium brushes, Palette
Instructions:
Using your pencil and your ruler, divide the page into 10 equal rectangles.
Visit this website and click the "surprise me" button. Select 10 artworks to create monochrome thumbnails of. (you can click as many times as you need to, but the goal here is to do thumbnails of art that you aren't familiar with rather than seeking out art that you know well for this assignment)
Reproduce each of the images as a monochrome thumbnail in the ten rectangles you've marked on your paper. You don't have to mix a unique color for each rectangle, but you should mix a few different colors and use only one for each rectangle. For instance, if you are using green and yellow paint, some images should be yellow, some should be green, some should be green-yellow, some should be yellow-green.
Purpose:
To use your materials
Work on achieving different values with single colors by layering or diluting your paint.
Composition study
Time Limits:
Once you have collected your ten images and have your station set up, you should take no more than one hour to complete your thumbnails.
Due Date: July 20th 2024
___________________
If you are not familiar with watercolor, here's a good video on some of the basic techniques for painting with watercolor:
And this is a good example of a monochrome painting done in watercolor; if you want, you can watch the video and use it as a tutorial to practice getting a feel for monochrome painting.
youtube
Use this assignment to practice! Make use of the gift that you were given by familiarizing yourself with the medium and thinking about art and working in color.
I'm going to play along too and will reblog this post with my thumbnails on July 20th - anyone who wants to join in is welcome to do so as well.
And everyone please remember: time and materials spent doing something you love or practicing a skill you enjoy are never wasted. Even if you don't end up with a "good" finished product, you have learned something and that, in itself, is valuable.

𝑆𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 || Austin Butler
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Summary : Austin is playing a guitar, trying to memorize some of Elvis' songs as he's preparing for the role, and he wants his Y/n to try it, too.
• Pairing : Austin Butler x female! reader
• Warnings : fluff, kissing, pet names¿
The glow of the late afternoon sun streams through the windows as you sit on the couch, listening to Austin play the guitar. He's learning some new Elvis Presley songs, due to his upcoming movie, where he plays him.
He sits on the floor of your living room, and you watch his fingers stroking each string. You can't hide your admiration to his talent - sometimes you even ask; Is there something this man can't do? And the answer is = probably not.
"Austin, baby, I want to try it too," slips out from your mouth. Austin stops playing, looking at you softly with his bright blue eyes. "You do?" he grins. You nod, and watch him pat his lap, signaling you to sit down.
The acoustic guitar rests awkwardly in your lap. He’s sitting behind you, his chest pressed on your back as he's holding the guitar with you. You, unfortunately can't see it, but his grin is all lighten up, happy to teach you.
“Alright, first thing’s first,” he says, leaning forward, watching from behind your shoulder, and gently adjusting your grip on the neck of the guitar. Austin's hands are warm as they guide your fingers into position. “You’re going to press down here for a G chord. Not too hard, you don’t want to strangle it—but firm enough to get a clean sound.”
You give it a try, strumming down the strings, but the sound that comes out is far from clean. Wincing, you turned your head to see Austin's face, but instead of laughing, he just smiles. “Hey, not bad for your first try! Lemme show you again.”
Austin shifts closer, wrapping his arms around you to place your hands properly. His chin almost rests on your shoulder, his voice low and steady as he murmurs instructions. “Relax your wrist a little,” he says, and you try again. This time, the chord rings out clearer.
“There you go, love!” he cheers softly, his joy contagious. You feel a sense of pride bubble up, but it’s hard to focus on the guitar when he’s so close, his warmth and steady encouragement making you feel more at ease.
For a while, he teaches you some more chords, almost playing the whole song. Your fingers are starting to ache, you find yourself laughing more than you thought you would. Every time you miss a string, he grins and teases you gently, “It’s not the guitar’s fault, you know,"
"I know! But my fingers ache so much already!" you try to sound offended, but in playful way of course. "Honey, how do you think Elvis could handle the whole shows, playing?" Austin laugh from behind you. "He also didn't complain that it hurt, otherwise he would have thrown the guitar away!"
You laughed at Austin's teasing, nudging him softly. "Unlike me, Elvis could play it. You can't compare me as a beginner to the king of rock n roll!"
Finally, after managing a shaky but recognizable version of the intro to Can't Help Falling In Love, you lean back into him with a laugh. “Okay, I’m not terrible,” you admit, and Austin laughs with you, setting his guitar aside, wrapping his arms around you.
“You’re better than I was on my first day,” he says, shifting you even closer, taking your hands in his. His thumbs gently rub over your fingertips, reddened from pressing down on the strings. “You’re a natural. And even if you weren’t, I’d still love this—getting to teach you something I love.”
There’s an unspoken softness in his voice as he whispers into your ear. “You make everything better, you know that? Even playing guitar feels more special when it’s with you.”
You smile, feeling your cheeks turn red. You move in his lap a little, finally looking in his eyes. This close, Austin's eyes were brightly blue like clear ocean water or almost diamonds. Your sight drops from his eyes to his cherry pink, full lips. And without hesitation you press your lips against his.
He doesn't pull away. Actually, his hand travels up on the back of your head to support you, his other hand still holding yours. Deepen the kiss, you cup his cheeks, as he held you close to him
When you eventually pull away, your head rests in the crook of his neck. “Guess I’ll just have to keep practicing with you, then.” you say, smiling frantically. “Good," Austin replies, leaning in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. “Because I’m not done teaching you yet..."
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Source: YouTube
I had so much fun writing this! This idea just randomly popped in my mind and I had to bring it "alive". I mean, I would give ANYTHING for him to teach me how to play guitar, I mean LOOK AT HIM!!! 😩PS. Hope y'all liked this!

HI I LOVE Y'ALL'S BLOG SO MUCH!!! AAAA
Okay, I'll calm down now. I was wondering if you'd be interested by the idea of a newly summoned ghoul reader struggling to get to grips with their instrument and panicking about not being good enough for tour yet and being comforted by one of the ghouls?
I'm currently struggling to learn bass to get good enough for a band I have a chance to be in and it's really wreaking havoc on my mental health being so confused and getting it wrong over and over and y'all's writing in comfort scenarios always makes me feel better... So I thought I'd shoot my shot!
I hope you're having an amazing day, this blog brightens up my day every time! <3
Water ghouls helping a newly summoned ghoul learn their instrument
Chain (it/ghoul)
Chain is a fucking goofball.
Don't let its big, intimidating form fool you, Chain is a goofy dumbass who can barely keep up a "mysterious" act.
So when you come to ghoul and ask to learn how to play bass, it's delighted to help, all giggly and shit.
Ghoul's not the best teacher, he gets too excited and ahead of ghoulself, teaching you the "cool" riffs becore the easy ones.
It does get bonus points for being patient and hyping you up, though.
And the reward kisses. The reward kisses are nice.
Lake (he/him)
He comes accross very serious and when you ask him and you are pretty nervous.
He nods and gestures for you to follow him. He finds a cozy practice room well out of the way.
Despite his scary front he takes teaching you very seriously and is very supportive.
He's actually a really good teacher and takes time to show you good technique and teach you the songs you need to learn.
He rarely gives out compliments but when he does you know he completely means it.
Also when you get him to smile, either by a joke or playing well or just by being yourself.
You end up getting very close.
River (they/them)
They are a slut about it. A complete whore.
Every single dirty joke they can make while teaching you is made. Everything from fingering it correctly to thrusting with their own bass.
Shockingly, they are still a very good teacher. Only making the dirty jokes as you get closer to mastering each skill.
River definitely sits behind you to guide your hands on new notes and skills, hands on teacher when it’s needed. Only with consent of course.
Will absolutely bring you out for food after practice. They’re a slut but a classy slut. They buy you dinner before trying to get in your pants.
Cowbell (they/it)
It's a bit surprised to be your choice for bass lessons. After all, their only real performance was what landed them a name. And it was just trying to prank Papa.
But, the name stuck and it just couldn't go out of its way to change it, especially when you started to use "Cowie" as a cute little nickname that they just needed to hear every single day of its life.
But, fortunately for you, they just so happen to play bass as well, just like most water ghouls. They were just beginner level, but still.
You two practice together, figuring the instrument out.
It's a lot of fun, both you and Cowbell enjoy it a lot, even if it's a bit frustrating sometimes. At least you get frustrated together, right?
You end up better than it. Somehow, you end up tutoring them, instead of the other way around.
Mist (he/she)
He's thrilled to help out with that. Mist really likes alone time together, especially if you two just chill, enjoying a common hobby.
So she's happy to teach you guitar. Might offer playing Guitar Hero first so you can train your fingers a bit.
The first song you learn how to play is Gorillaz's Feel Good Inc., which is her favorite non-Ghost song. And the bass is very pleasant in the song.
He casually rests against your back, just listening to you play and giving small comments on what you can do better whenever you mess up.
There's this weird feeling of comfort during your practice sessions.
She starts a tickle fight the moment you put the guitar down.
Never let them know your next move type of shit.
Rain (he/she/ve)
He's a bit surprised when you ask, but doesn't see a reason to refuse.
But hey, ve's a good teacher! Really good, actually.
Rain sometimes even organizes classes for ghouls and Siblings who want to play bass.
She first gets you your own bass and lets you customize it with stickers. Not many people know this, but Sodo got the "YouSuck" sticker from her.
He's very patient with you, starting with basic notes and riffs before slowly moving to more complicated stuff.
Somehow, no matter who ve's teaching, her work is always excellent when it comes to teaching.
And he's very sweet with his rewards, if you catch my drift.
Storm (they/he)
They're chill with the idea. I mean, if you wanna learn, then who is he to deny you the fun that is playing bass?
Also, he doesn't say bass like the instrument, he says it like the fish, which is sorta funny during the lessons.
No, they will not be corrected on how to say it.
He's gonna sit you in his lap and show you everything, step by step.
They also let you experiment and play around, offering tips whenever you ask.
A decent teacher, not too great but not too bad, either.

Here's a banner I made cause I actually really love the thought of drum teacher!Soap x reader:
Drum pictures found on google "drummer aesthetic"
Tumblr media
Drum teacher!Soap sitting behind you, thighs bracketing yours and hands circling your wrists in a firm grip as he guides you how to hold the sticks and how to play.
His chest is so warm, even through his clothes, as he's pressed tightly against your back. You think you can feel his heartbeat. It sets a tempo you follow along as he uses you as a puppet to play the drums.
You don't learn anything in this lesson (it's spent with him miming your body and you not really doing anything), so he offers to make it up so your money isn't wasted, focusing it on rhythm because it was something you had trouble with.
The make up lesson is spent learning rhythm in an unconventional way (hint: he fucks you)
Bonus thoughts:
I can see this going a dark path where it's more creepy drum teacher!Soap finding excuses to touch you and give you extra lessons, even if you don't need it, but maybe i'd write it as a separate thing
Bonus Bonus thoughts:
He works at TF-141's Music Box, and the rest of the team works there. They used to be a rock band, "TF-141". Pretty famous nationally, but they're retired from that now and sell instruments and other music-related products. They offer lessons, and are good for beginners, have an affordable price, and highly reviewed with a majority 4-5 stars.
Soap teaches drums
Ghost teaches guitar
↪but he has some knowledge of the guitar
↪and he can play a little bit of drums and bass
Gaz teaches bass
↪he can also play some guitar
I like to think Price's instrument is also drums and keyboard (with a little experience with guitar and bass, like Ghost), and he was the lead singer, but he doesn't teach lessons.
They have a rival band and now also music shop "The Shadows" (guess who)

requesting a quick imagine for Lessi: reader is Lessi’s girlfriend, and is a global superstar/ musician less wants to play a song on guitar so reader does that thing where they’re stood behind Less guiding her hands to play along and it’s just so fluffy
Muse
The days you got to spend with Alessia doing nothing were the days you loved the most. Since both of your jobs require you to travel and train a lot, rest days meant spending all day cuddled up on the couch ordering sushi.
After the 4th episode of friends your girlfriend was bored and looked around the room to find what she was looking for you.
There it was, your favourite black fender guitar with lots of stickers on it. You were collecting them from all the places you were playing concerts at and those were going directly on your guitar.
„Y/n can you show me how to play?“
The blonde asked as she brought back the guitar to where you were sitting. You smiled softly looking at your girlfriend before you told her to sit in front of you. You sat behind her placing your hands over hers trying to guide her fingers on the right strings.
"what song do you want to play my love?"
You asked her while resting your head on her shoulder.
"Ours"
she replied simply and you knew exactly which one she meant.
"So the chords for the first part of the chorus is B, F#m, A, E and B. After that it's F#m, A, E, B. And for the last part its F#m,A E, B."
"Baby you know I'm a beginner right"
She turned her head to look at you
"We're doing this together don't worry"
You chuckled as you placed her fingers on the correct chords before guiding her fingers to pluck them. It was more difficult than it seemed since alessias hand kept plucking the wrong chord.
"Wrong chord baby"
You chuckled before receiving a huff from the blonde.
"I didn't know it would be this hard"
She mumbled as she kept trying to play the right tunes.
"What if I sing the line? it'll help"
The blonde only nodded as her focus was on getting the song right.
"We start with B my love, ready?"
She nodded and gave you a sweet smile before you started singing the lines.
"Cause all of the small things that you do"
"Are what remind me why I fell for you"
"And when we're apart and I'm missing you"
"I close my eyes and all I see is you"
"And the small things you do"
"This was pretty good less"
"Thanks to you superstar"
She smiled as she gave you a sweet kiss. Her familiar strawberry taste making its way onto your lips.
"You never told me when you wrote our song"
She asked as she put the guitar away and leaned back into you.
"It was a little before I told you that I'm in love with you, remember the party after the euros?"
"The one at Leah's?"
"Yeah that one, on the way back to my place I just knew. I had most of the lyrics written out but the chorus was missing. But in that moment it just came to me.
"I love it so much"
The Italian smiled softly at you before hugging you tightly.
Short one but thanks to @ohgrays for the song choice <3

Satan & Violins
I share a lot of similarities with Satan, even when before they canonized something about him; one of them being violinist!Satan😭 In spite of me having a mini identity crisis following the drop of his canon violinist card, i think it makes sense! heres why.
Disclaimer!
1. I have not picked up an instrument in years
2. This is purely bcuz my brain is so busy thinking abt Satan so its kinda rambly. . Pls bare w me T_T
3. THIS IS LONG IM SO SORRY
4. Not too used to tumblr writing just yet sorry if it's messy
(Uploaded on my twitter aswell :D)
Tumblr media
The violin and its family, unlike other string instruments (ex. the guitar), doesnt have these little things (that i forgor the name of because im a bad musician) that separates every note. those little separating thingies are the reason why people who dont know shit about playing a key on guitar but memorize musical scales (me) is at least able to strum a simple one octave melody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously, the two come in with their one difficulty (i prefer the violin myself), but it's a little bit harder to pull that trick with the violin. As you can see, theres not exactly something to tell you where each note begins or where they end. Nothing to determine where is where. You simply have to memorize the placement and the distance between each note. You basically play the violin with Your Gut (1). We'll keep this in mind for now.
Moving on, let's talk about body posture.
Beginner violinist usually directlty face towards the strings when playing, as they aren't used to letting their 'gut' lead the show. However, more experienced players would find no need to do so. A quick glance at Satan's art could tell us he was at least above beginner level to be brave enough to face (us) instead.
Tumblr media
When you're not facing your violin, you would usually lean your head towards it, resulting in your ear becoming the closest thing to it- here's a real life example:
Tumblr media
Now, if there was anything my teacher warned me before starting violin, is that even without having your ear be the closest thing to it, the strings are already LOUD😭 so its even louder when you alr have ur ear on it. The violin is considered one of the most emotional instruments ever, their lower sound resemble what we use to express sadness in speech. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, you as a player are forced to feel what you're playing. Thus is also why you play the violin with Your Heart (2).
So, how does this tie into Satan? It's no secret that our handsome man is incredibly romantic, and to me if he ever wants to express something to us and making sure the message is clearly received, the equally emotional violin is his best bet! The violin allows Satan to play heartwrenching notes that would quickly be felt by the listener.
Lets get technical.
There's still another side of the violin, as there is another side to Satan. The way you stroke your bow matters, the way you angle it so you'll only hit the notes you want. (thankfully if you mess up, the violin is made to still sound graceful😂). Satan too, is quite the detail oriented person. He is tactical, analytical, observant, a man obsessed with striving to be the perfect one, etc etc. The need of preciseness of the violin is definitely right up his alley. The way you need everything to be correct to be rewarded for a beautiful sound. Idk exactly where I'm going with this but it's basically intelligence meets emotion kinda thing, do you see it too?!?!
Tumblr media
In conclusion, the violin is a wonderful instrument that both requires great attention to detail yet is also incredibly emotional and heartfelt, an instrument that requires your gut and heart guide your play without abandoning technique. Satan, the incredibly smart yet fluffy softie, is quite literally made for this and I LOVE HIM for that RAAAAAAHHHH. im normal.
THATS IT RLLY im soooo sorry if it's incredibly messy please have a sugarry picture <3 ily

playing the guitar
hey there! welcome back. let’s talk about why playing the guitar is such a fantastic hobby. 🎸
playing the guitar is a great way to relax and express yourself. it improves your hand-eye coordination, boosts your creativity, and can even enhance your memory and concentration. plus, it’s super fun and can be a great way to connect with others through music.
ready to start strumming? here’s a step-by-step guide to help you begin your guitar journey:
choose your guitar: decide between an acoustic or electric guitar. acoustic guitars are great for beginners because they’re straightforward and don’t require extra equipment like amplifiers.
get the right gear: you’ll need a guitar, a tuner, a few picks, and a capo. a guitar strap and a case are also useful.
learn the parts of the guitar: familiarize yourself with the different parts of the guitar, like the headstock, neck, body, and strings.
tune your guitar: use a tuner to get your guitar in standard tuning (E A D G B e). this is crucial for making sure your guitar sounds good.
learn basic chords: start with simple chords like C, G, D, and E minor. these are the building blocks for many songs.
practice strumming patterns: get comfortable with basic strumming patterns. this will help you keep a steady rhythm.
play simple songs: pick easy songs to practice, like “knockin’ on heaven’s door” by bob dylan or “three little birds” by bob marley. this will help you apply what you’ve learned.
practice regularly: consistency is key. try to practice a little bit every day to build muscle memory and improve your skills.
explore different genres: once you’re comfortable, try playing different styles of music like rock, blues, or folk to keep things interesting.
here are a couple of youtube videos to help you get started:
how to play guitar - easy first guitar lesson for beginners! by dylan laine
how to play guitar (your first guitar lesson) by fender
happy strumming! what kind of music are you excited to learn on the guitar? 🎶
