#TADAAAA :D #ohh there's SO much going on here #the first one is interesting bc i tried to avoid gifs of the outside #but this one strikes me as a moment from before the blog started #a brief moment of introspection and dwelling on the past as he looks out at the dwindling remains of the forest #though to him i’m sure any second thought about what could’ve been is a second wasted and he snaps himself out of it shortly after #THE BEAR THE TEDDY BEAR #it's a foreboding reference to the barbaloots it's a representation of the past it's everything to me :D #the spotlight for being the center of attention and scrutiny alike; loud and flashy juxtaposed with the softer candles on the other side #the gears are for the factory but note how clean it looks #showing his desperate attempts to keep his reputation intact and insist that absolutely nobody has died within the walls of this place #the velvety red fabric resembles both theater curtains (performance and the blog) and the curtains in his office #and they’re positioned opposite to the one glimpse we see of the outside world calling back to that one scene in the 1972 version #a camera for both his surveillance over thneedville and the press plus a reference to that old photo of him before his business days #the entire middle column is a brief glimpse into all the good intent that got soured along the way #while the right column represents his success and splendor #alternatively the bear and the camera could reference that one scene in hbcib with pipsqueak!#and that last one is for the extravagance of the ball!#you could say it being next to the camera means he’ll be keeping a close eye on partygoers >:3 #i actually steered clear of stuff like sewing and other such manual work to show how he stands at the very top #arghh i could go on about every little part of the layout and how the different themes connect and oppose each other it's so fun!!!!! :D #anyways i hope ya like it ouo!!!#biggerler #ask the biggering onceler #stimboard #my nonsense

I always thought is very tricky to draw that wrinkle that goes from the nose and around the mouth and still male it look good, but gosh you nail it in every art, super expressive and pretty. Looking at all your drawings 🔍🕵‍♀️ to properly appreciate and study it. But wow really in love with your art style is so expressive and pleasing to look at, and the colors are so pretty 👌👌👌👌

i LOVEEE drawing wrinkles!!! it makes faces soso so expressive and i try to add wrinkles to every character i draw whenever i can. and the fact i also love drawing characters smiling (they make me happy, so i want to be able to share my joy to other people by drawing them smiling too!) which of course makes that wrinkle around the nose and mouth more prominent :-)

im not a person that can draw well from memory, i use references excessively even if it doesnt turn out the same way from the reference im copying from in the end 😊

i drew these out real quick but i have no clue how to explain any of these so i just thought about sharing it with you anyways!

call it "cheating" or whatever, but most of the time i even trace over the reference just to have a base i can copy the expression im trying to draw from. i do art for fun and if it makes my process that much easier then. well!

anyhoo, ignore the fact these are all mr lassos... i just love him a whole bunch 💛

#im not saying 'tracing is good!' as a whole. never trace from other people's work and pass it off as your own obviously. i just think you -#can learn a whole bunch of tricks and how to draw specific things if you just Trace Over References #'ohh but youll never Get Good by just tracing though! :/' who cares. i love drawing men being silly and thats enough for me.#Getting Good be damned!#apologies if this doesnt make any damn sense LMAO !! i just got home a couple hours ago and its now 3am zzzz #pn.ask #theres also the matter of me being obsessed with handlebar facial hairs and how it 'removes' the upper lip when im drawing so i use the -#bottom part of the mustache as the line for the mouth itself #ITS THIS WHOLE PROCESS.... So, you know how people like DirkJohn (I'm people). Hear me out tho. This doesn't end here, because I also like DirkJake. (And DaveKat - DaveJohn, too, but not if Dave's with Karkat).

Well, as I'm writing a story idea just now, I thought, "Oh, wouldn't it be funny if I made this random story into Homestuck fanfiction?" And because I'm a little... you know... I rolled with it.

And now I'm faced with that dilemma. If Dirk has Jake, and Dave has Kat, who has John?

But here's a little secret. I needed a smart guy to talk numbers earlier in my notes, so I already have Lil Hal written down as a main character in this dumb idea I'm pulling out my ass heart right now.

And who do I have a Strider need for? John.
