The Power of GOLD
"Welcome, gentlemen. I'm pleased to see so many of you here today," Captain Richard said, his voice commanding yet charismatic as he stood at the front of the dimly lit room. "I'm sure you're curious about the Golden Army and what exactly it is you're investing in." A smirk flickered across his lips. "But before we dive into that, there's a special gift waiting for each of you under your seats—golden jerseys. Go ahead, put them on."
The room filled with the sound of fabric rustling and chairs shifting as the investors followed his instructions. Some hesitated, exchanging puzzled glances, but eventually, every man in the room donned the bright, shimmering jerseys. The transformation was subtle at first—shoulders straightening, postures growing more confident, with something deeper happening beneath the surface.
"Now," Richard continued, his tone more authoritative, "the Golden Army is not just a soccer team. It's an ideal, a way of life, and it's best summed up in one word: GOLD."
He turned, revealing the acronym on a large screen behind him.
"Growth.
Obedience.
Leadership.
Drive."
The lights dimmed further, focusing on Richard as he elaborated, his eyes scanning the room to gauge their reactions.
"Growth," he began, pacing slowly. "Being part of the Golden Army isn't just about physical transformation, though I’m sure you’re already feeling it." A few of the men glanced at their arms and chests, already noticing subtle muscular definition they hadn’t possessed before. "These jerseys don't just make you look the part—they turn you into prime specimens for any sport you touch. But more importantly, we foster growth as men, as leaders, as pillars of our community. Through charity events, community service, and outreach, you’ll not only strengthen your body but your spirit. You will become part of something far greater than yourselves."
The room buzzed with excitement, the changes in the men's demeanor becoming more apparent. Their movements had become sharper, more purposeful.
"Obedience," Richard's voice sharpened, cutting through the air like a blade. "In the Golden Army, we move as one. When you wear this jersey, you follow orders without question. The team comes first. Always. You’ll learn discipline, loyalty, and the power of unity. Our success depends on how well you listen. On and off the field, you will follow me, your Captain, and the Coach. No exceptions."
There was a palpable shift in the room. What had once been casual investors now felt more like soldiers, sitting at attention without even realizing it.
"Leadership," Richard continued, his smile returning, though there was a fierceness to it now. "In the Golden Army, each of you will learn to lead. Even the most timid and unassuming men are molded into true alphas. You'll feel that arrogance bubbling up inside you, the hunger to dominate, to be the best. As leaders on the field, you'll radiate power—commanding respect without saying a word."
The men straightened even further, some of them visibly clenching their fists, their new-found dominance starting to take root.
"Finally, Drive," Richard said, his voice lowering to a near growl. "When you're part of the Golden Army, this is no hobby. This is your life. We demand nothing less than your full commitment, both on the field and off it. Every ounce of your strength, every drop of sweat, as well as your blood and tears, will be for the Army. You live for the win, you breathe for the team."
There was no hesitation now. The men nodded in unison, fully locked in.
"And that's the heart of the Golden Army," Richard concluded, standing tall. "I'm glad you’ve all chosen to invest in us, but more than that—today you’ve chosen to become one of us." His eyes glinted with something knowing as he surveyed the room. "Because what better way could you invest in the Golden Army than to join us?"
He stepped forward, locking eyes with each of them. "Am I clear?"
"Yes, Captain!" The chorus of voices responded instantly, filled with newfound vigor.
"Very good. You're dismissed for now. Go home, get some rest—because practice starts early tomorrow. And trust me, gentlemen..." He paused, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "You’ll need all the energy you can muster."
As the men filed out, the weight of their new identities settled on their shoulders, their golden jerseys glowing faintly in the light of the conference room. They weren’t just investors anymore. They were soldiers of the Golden Army. And they would embrace the GOLD in everything they did.

THIS IS ANOTHER ONE I THOUGHT OF FOR A WHILE AND I HAD ROTTING IN THE DRAFTS.
deliquency in slam dunk
Tumblr media
In Takehiko Inoue’s Slam Dunk, basketball is presented as more than just a game—it’s a lifeline for troubled characters with messy, complicated lives. While critics of the series often point to the delinquent behaviors of Shohoku’s players and their rivals as a flaw, this raw and unpolished aspect of the manga doesn’t detract from the story, but I would argue it actually strengthens it. By presenting characters whose struggles extend far beyond the court, Inoue makes Slam Dunk more than a sports manga. It is also a story about redemption, self-discovery, and the undeniable link between personal imperfection and growth.
As the protagonist of Slam Dunk, Hanamichi Sakuragi is the most obvious example of how delinquency shapes the story. Initially, his brash attitude and quick temper drove many of the manga’s early comedic and chaotic moments. But beneath his tough exterior lies a teenager desperate for recognition and validation. He is a self-proclaimed “genius” of basketball, yet he doesn’t even understand the game’s basic rules when he starts. This gap between his confidence and reality reflects his immaturity, rooted in years of rejection and a desperate need for validation. His initial scuffles with Rukawa, for example, are less about genuine rivalry and more about his inability to handle his emotions. But what sets Sakuragi apart is how basketball forces him to channel his delinquent tendencies into something productive. One turning point occurs when he resolves to work on his rebounds after being humiliated in front of the team. Though his stubbornness remains, it transforms into determination, epitomized in his declaration: “I will make 20 rebounds in the next game!” His growth as a player—and as a person—is tied to this process of refining, not erasing, his rebellious spirit.
His evolution from a reckless delinquent to a player who sacrifices everything for his team isn’t only a basketball success story. It’s a celebration of his personal transformation, one that feels earned because of where he started. Sakuragi’s rebound in the final moments against Sannoh is more than a display of his growth as a player, it’s a display of his journey from selfishness to selflessness, showing how basketball helped him confront and channel his rebellious energy.
Ryota Miyagi, meanwhile, represents a subtle, more subdued delinquency. His mistrust and quick temper stem from grief over his brother’s death and the loneliness that followed. While Sakuragi’s antics are public, Ryota’s pain is private, bubbling under the surface until basketball offers him an outlet. This emotional baggage nearly derails his basketball career when he returns to the team after a year-long hiatus. His initial fight with Sakuragi leads to one of his most vulnerable moments, where he admits: “I wanted to quit basketball… but I couldn’t let it go.” Basketball becomes Ryota’s way of healing, his means of reconnecting with others and reclaiming the confidence he lost. His journey is a more indirect form of redemption, one that emphasizes how delinquency often stems from pain rather than inherent malice. His connection with Ayako and his eventual leadership on the court also shows how the game becomes a way for him to rebuild his confidence and form genuine relationships.
Then there’s Hisashi Mitsui, whose journey is perhaps the most heartbreaking. His fall from middle school MVP to gang member is rooted in a relatable fear: the fear of being forgotten. And Mitsui’s breakdown in front of Coach Anzai, tearfully pleading, “Let me play basketball again,” is one of the manga’s most unforgettable moments because it lays bare the guilt and regret that fuel his delinquency. However, his return to basketball isn’t portrayed as a clean redemption but a slow, painful process of reconciliation—with his teammates, his own guilt, and the game itself. The beauty of Mitsui’s arc lies in its imperfection. He doesn’t instantly become the hero he once was. Instead, he struggles, and that struggle makes his eventual triumph all the more powerful.
We see throughout the series how he battles with his fitness, self-doubt, and the lingering consequences of his past, yet his pivotal three pointers in Shohoku’s games against Kainan and Sannoh prove that his resilience has paid off. Mitsui’s arc further demonstrates how delinquency in Slam Dunk is never glamorized—it’s contextualized as a response to pain, and basketball becomes his way forward.
Even the rival teams reflect this idea of delinquency as a double-edged sword, with both its destructive side and the humanity behind it. Toyotama’s players, with their trash talking and aggressive attitudes, show what happens when this rebellious energy is left unchecked. Minami’s violent foul on Rukawa during their match is reckless and brutal, and it showed how anger and impulsivity can poison the spirit of competition.
But Toyotama’s delinquency isn’t framed as pure villainy. It stems from their desperation to honor their former coach, who had been fired due to not producing “results”. After revealing this, their aggression on the court feels less like malice and more like a raw, unprocessed response to grief. They’re playing to prove something—not just to their opponents but to themselves. This makes their story more tragic than antagonistic, and that when left unchecked or unguided, delinquency can lead to self-destruction. Instead of finding redemption through this behavior, they fall further into chaos, ultimately harming the very legacy they’re trying to protect.
What makes Slam Dunk resonate is how these characters, flawed as they are, feel like people you could know—or even be. Their delinquency isn’t glorified, but rather, it’s contextualized. It’s a response to pain, loss, and insecurity, and basketball becomes the outlet through which they confront these struggles. This mirrors the lives of 1990s NBA players like Allen Iverson or Dennis Rodman, whose turbulent personal lives didn’t overshadow their greatness but instead added layers to their stories. Like Sakuragi or Mitsui, they weren’t perfect, but they didn’t need to be.
By incorporating delinquency into its characters and story, Slam Dunk gives us characters who aren’t just athletes but people—messy, flawed, and striving for something greater. It reminds us that greatness isn’t about being perfect. It’s about finding purpose, even in hardships and chaos. In that way, Slam Dunk doesn’t just tell a story about basketball. It tells a story about life.

ELITE CHANGES III: MENTORED ASCENSION
Chapter III of the new five-part text collaboration between Alpha Rhys and Avis Sapiens
Tumblr media
The truest guided transformations are not those arising from people who need a drill sergeant to do what they already know must be done. If you have to be barked and coaxed and commanded at every step of the way you don’t really want it. You’ll fail out like you have every other time. There’s nothing that can be done for you. The coach, the guide, the mentor can only make something out of what he is given to work with. But with the right material and the right guidance combined you will become something awe-inspiring.
You join in a legacy, an unbroken chain of lessons learned and methods perfected. Cycle after cycle of new recruits into the process. Honing the form and the mind with ever greater efficiency. Avoiding the mistakes that your Big bro made when he started out. Speeding through the technique which took years of trial and error on his part to master, but that you can benefit from in the span of months.
Hearing his praise shower over you as you become both a person in your own right, but also a monument to his greatness as well. His bro, his student, his client, his masterpiece.
Seeing in you the potential that no one else does. Like an artist seeing the sculpture locked away inside the stone.
Just that affirmation alone makes it all so much more possible in your mind. Knowing that someone other than you is invested in your own success. And inversely, when you fail to adhere to his teachings you’re letting down not only yourself, but someone you care for deeply.
A dynamic and a journey leading side-by-side to greater and more euphoric change. Until eventually you reach the level where there is no more to be taught, but because of everything your mentor has invested in you, you can now keep going on your own. Reaching higher than ever before. Learning new lessons and infusing your growth with your own unique essence.
Until the day comes where you find your lil bro. Your eager young stud oozing potential. And you can help him become more than you were. And the cycle begins again.
Primary author: Avis Sapiens (@avissapiens)
Additional conceptual input and editing: Alpha Rhys (@kingalpharhys)

Après ski
Axel, beloved the son of a wealthy farmer in Austria, grew up with a natural talent for skiing. During the winter months, their land was transformed into a thriving ski resort. His parents, also ran a renowned ski school, ensured that Axel received the best training and opportunities in the sport.
Tumblr media
From a young age, Axel excelled on the slopes, becoming the best skier in the village. His skills took him beyond the local competitions, and he even won the country ski cup and had the honor of competing in the Olympics. However, despite his success, Axel felt the need for a different path and started uni.
After a few seasons as a ski instructor, Axel stumbled upon the world of apres ski. The parents of kids he taught in his premium class were so appreciative of his coaching that they often showered him with gifts, such as bottles of champagne and warm gluhwine. During the day, he would ski off the excess indulgence, staying in incredible shape.
Tumblr media
During the spring and summer, Axel hit the gym to maintain his fitness, eager to make the most of the upcoming winter season. He was determined to balance his love for skiing with his newfound enjoyment of the apres ski lifestyle.
However, as the next winter season arrived, the apres ski scene had transformed into a series of binge drinking events and extravagant dinners, all funded by rich parents. Axel found himself irresistibly drawn to the vibrant party atmosphere, indulging in a carefree lifestyle. He would pick up girls at the bar and enjoy passionate encounters every evening.
Unfortunately, the lavish lifestyle came at a cost. Axel began to gain weight rapidly, and by the end of the second season, he had struggled to shed the excess pounds fast enough for the upcoming winter. Even before Christmas approached, he could feel his weight creeping up due to all the festive celebrations in the village.
Tumblr media
Regardless of the strain on his uniform, Axel continued to party unabated during the winter season. His weight continued to spiral out of control, pushing the limits of his once perfect physique. At times he attempted to go to the gym, but the physical exertion proved more difficult now with his increasing size.
Tumblr media
As the third ski season loomed, Axel's parents presented him with an ultimatum – lose weight or lose his place in the premium ski class. Failing to shed the extra pounds, he was demoted to being an instructor for a regular group. While a less exciting prospect, the change allowed Axel to indulge in his love for ski instruction while partying and feasting without restraint.
Tumblr media
The following summer, Axel didn't even bother trying to lose weight. He lounged in the sun by the pool, enjoying endless amounts of food and drink, blissfully unconcerned about his expanding waistline.
By the fourth winter season, Axel had grown to the point where he needed the biggest uniform available. His parents assigned him to a group of adult skiers who preferred leisurely tours and relaxing on terraces. The entire season revolved around indulgent lunches, lively apres ski evenings, and lavish dinners. His focus was no longer on skiing but on consuming as much food and drink as possible.
Tumblr media
Throughout the summer, Axel's weight continued to increase, with no sign of slowing down.
The fifth winter season proved to be the most challenging for Axel. His parents entrusted him with a beginners group, which proved embarrassing but ultimately beneficial. With his weight hindering his movement, making tours became incredibly difficult. Despite his struggle, Axel continued to gain weight, trapped in a cycle of inactivity and overeating.
Tumblr media
By the sixth season, Axel had become so obese that his parents had to commission a tailored jacket for him, as the largest size available no longer fit. longer No able to ski or instruct due to his weight, he stationed was at the cash register instead. It was a monotonous role, but one that allowed him to continue eating his beloved chocolate without restraint Swiss.
Tumblr media
Despite no longer being an instructor, Axel remained the star of the apres ski scene. He reveled in the constant flow of free food and drinks, relishing the attention ad andoration he received from fellow partygoers. Even with his limitations, everyone still knew and revered the once legendary skier turned apres ski enthusiast, Axel.

If the cap fits...
Tumblr media
I don't care where you live; you must have heard me scream when I opened this treasure from @/artbyainna this morning! Agh! Look at my babies! I already had a commission planned for them when I created Trystan's Holiday Recap, where we learned about Carolina's gift. It was @lilyoffandoms who said, "I need the art of this, STAT!" and I wrote Ainna and said, "We need to make an adjustment." lol I hope the CoP fans out there love this half as much as I do, because that would be a whole lot. There's a little drabble below to accompany this.
Book: Crimes of Passion Pairing: Trystan Thorne x Carolina Rose (F!MC) Words: 740 Rating: Teen Summary: Carolina has a little surprise for her prince, but how will he take it?
@choicesjanuary2024 - Day 12 - Transformation (because Trystan has certainly undergone one.)
Crimes of Passion Masterlist | My Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
It was early evening, the sun was just beginning to set, and Trystan was anxious to put the work day behind him. He was shoving folders into his desk and about to lock the drawers when Carolina sauntered in. If there was one thing that could distract him, no matter what he was doing, she was it. His eyes lingered over her with every step, the puppy-dog look on his face so unbecoming for a Drakovian royal, but there was no use fighting it; he had long since given in. But there was something different about her today. She appeared less tense, relaxed even. The gleam in her eye and the devious little smile tugging at her lips told him one thing for sure: she was up to something.
She plopped down on the chair before him, crossing her legs and placing a brown paper shopping bag on the desk before meeting his eyes with a playful yet seductive stare. Trystan couldn't keep a straight face any longer.
“All right, what are you up to?”
“Me,” she responded coyly, holding her hands in mock horror. “What on earth suggests that I’m up to something, Detective Thorne?”
“That smile, that tone, that deliciously playful look in your eyes... what are you doing, Carolina Rose?”
“Well,” she pulled the bag to her lap. “I may have gotten you an early Christmas present.”
Trystan’s face fell. “No. You can’t give me anything yet! I don't have anything to give you.”
“I don’t need anything,” she smiled. “Besides, I know I’m helpless at stopping you from spoiling me as the month progresses.”
“You’re learning,” he smirked. “So, what’s in the bag?”
She gleefully stuck her hand in and held out a black baseball cap... not the dark navy of the Yankee caps he had become so familiar with... and this one had white lettering; he took it in his hand to read.
“Armchair detective... armchair detective? What does this mean?”
With a little giggle, more fitting for a schoolgirl than the hardened detective she had become, Carolina began to explain.
“Have you heard the term armchair quarterback? It means someone who watches football, insisting they know better than the coach on the field. They bark orders at the coach and scream as if they're the coach, all from the comfort of their couch with a bag of Cheetos at their side.”
“I’m familiar with the term, dear,” he replied sarcastically. “But what is an armchair det...” his mouth hung open as realization set in. “Are you saying I’m an armchair detective?”
“Well,” she teased. “You’ve had some success, I’ll give you that, but you are still very much a newb.”
“So... I’m the armchair detective?” he was bordering on insulted, but Carolina just shrugged playfully.
“I mean, if the cap fits....”
“So then, what does that make you?”
“Funny you should ask that,” she grinned, reaching into the bag to retrieve one more item. Flipping her long golden brown hair back, she placed a cap on her head, carefully tucking any loose tendrils within. Trystan leaned closer to see what hers said, and in a matching font, it declared: Detective.
“Detective?” he asked.
“Well, that’s what it says on my tax form.”
Unable to keep a straight face, she doubled over in a fit of giggles.
“I am deeply hurt,” he scolded with the tone of a man who had been destined to be king.
“You know I'm joking, baby. But come on let's take a selfie! Our friends will love this!"
“I think not.”
“Come on! Where is your sense of humor?”
“Oh, I have no problem with the selfie. I don't even have a problem with your pale attempt at humor... but there is no way I am messing up my crowning glory by wearing that cap.”
To drive his point home, he flipped his head back, running his hands through his luxurious locks, as Carolina looked on with amusement.
“You are such a diva!”
“I am,” he declared proudly, rolling his chair over to hers and pulling her into a tender kiss. “But I’m your diva.”
“And don’t you forget it!”
“Never!” he smiled smugly, pulling his phone from his pocket.
“What are you doing?” Carolina asked.
“Ordering us t-shirts.”
“T-shirts? What kind?”
“His and hers... mine will say Diva... you, my love, are an Armchair Diva.”
“Hey,” she said with a laugh, "if the shirt fits..."

AHH JUST FUCK IT—ART/LORE-ISH DUMP!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally my last three recently finished(enough) pieces of 2023
Just for a recap—aka officially telling y’all what’s been up with me—
You see, along side my RBA-esque storyline will be other separate stories that kind of take place at the same time. Sort of, maybe, has a Trollhunters kinda timeline, or something? Let me just break it down into the main drafting titles(pending) I decided to give each sideplot:
- Roll Call Rescue Recruits: Some young transforming individuals attend Rescue Bots Academy, stationed on Griffin Rock and get up to some waaakcy hijinks with their new classmates while training to become Rescue Bots.
- Radiance In Disguise: A spoiled brat has to live with a rustic antique collector and his son, ever since her mother was arrested, and now her mother’s old enemies would have to go through giant alien robots if they even want to lay a finger on her.
- Reach Out To Reassemble: There’s a new Delinquent Rehabilitation Program in succession, and now it’s up to two bots to coach two young Decepticon criminals out of their violent habits; or else it’s prison for them.
None of these are in particular order by the way.
At least I think they aren’t.

𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗦
Two teams, two squads, two managers, one city. Who would be the king of King's Landing and of the Premier League — the long-reigning Sky Blues or the underdog Red Gunners? For Rhaegar Targaryen, the stakes went beyond football, though the game had been his lifeblood, his passion, and his purpose. He never forgot where he had started: a frightened child fighting for his life in a hospital bed. Back then, it hadn’t been the thrill of the game that saved him, but the unwavering smile of a blue-haired girl who had given him a reason to fight.
𝙍𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙮𝙚
Rhaegar Lucaerys Aelon Targaryen, former footballer turned manager, is the current coach of Premier League's King's Landing City. As a striker, he achieved legendary status with Royal of Dragonstone, winning six UWEFA Champions Leagues and three World Cups before retiring at 28. Transitioning into management, he first assisted Barristan Selmy at Royal, securing major titles, and later at Inter Lannisport, where they dominated Serie A. At 30, Rhaegar took over Inter, winning every competition during his two-year tenure. By 33, he transformed King's Landing City into a global powerhouse, earning a clean sweep of trophies and becoming one of the most respected managers in history. However, at the peak of his career, at 36, he encountered an unexpected rival—someone from his past who challenged his invincibility.
𝙇𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙠
Lyanna Aleksander Rickardevna Stark, former footballer turned manager, is the new coach of Flea Bottom's Red Gooners in King's Landing. As a striker for Dinamo Winterfell, her promising career was cut short by a knee injury at 21. Transitioning into management, she became the assistant and later wife of her former coach, Sallador Saan. Together, they achieved success at FC Braavos, leading the team from the second division to winning the Essos Club Cup and the first division title, and at AC Jade Sea, where they won the Essos Confederation Cup. At 27, Lyanna returned to manage Dinamo Winterfell’s men’s team, guiding them from near relegation to Northern League champions and eventually winning the Club World Cup. After her husband’s sudden death, she took a three-year sabbatical before accepting the role at Flea Bottom, beginning a new chapter as the Red Gunners’ manager. She never thought she’d find him there.

Lis Hartel- Disabled Olympian, Equestrian Champion
Olympic season is in full swing, so it seems only appropriate to give a little love to some of history's most notable disabled Olympians as the games get underway. What better place to start than with the story of Lis Hartel and the impact she had upon equstrian sport.
Tumblr media
[ID: A book cover. The cover art shows a brown horse being led by a woman in a black dressage suit. The background is light blue. A beam of light is shining on the woman and horse. Text above them reads: The title “Jubilee” in large red writing, “The First Therapy and an Olympic Dream” below in smaller black writing. “By KT Johnson” and “Illustrated by Anabella Ortiz” below in smaller, black capitals. /end]
🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎 [22 horse emojis]
Hartel was trained in the art of equestrian sport from a fairly young age, regularly competing in showjumping and dressage competitions by her teens, and, eventually becoming the Danish dressage champions in 1943 and 1944. In September of the latter year, at the age of 23 and whilst pregnant with her second daughter, Hartel contracted polio.
The disease left her paralysed below the knees, though she decided to continue her equestrian career against medical advice.
In 1947, then, Hartel finished second at the Scandinavian championships. She would then win a silver medal in individual dressage at the 1952 Olympics, becoming one of the first four women to compete in Olympic equestrian sport against men, and only losing out on the gold by 20 points, coming second to Swedish rider Henri Saint Cyr. At the 1956 Olympics, she would go on to be awarded another silver medal in individual dressage, again only coming second to Henri Saint Cyr.
Hartel was also the Danish dressage champion from 1952-54, securing the title again in both 1956 and 1959.
She eventually retired from competitive riding sometime later but continued to coach, give demonstrations, and raise money for polio survivors and therapy riding for disabled people.
In 1992, Hartel was inducted into Denmark's Hall of Fame. Two years later, in 1994, she became the first Scandinavian to be inducted into the International Women's Hall of Fame, and, in 2005, she was named one of Denmark's top ten all-time athletes, an honour she still holds today.
Hartel would pass away in 2009, at the age of 87, but her legacy as a decorated Olympian, equestrian, and great disabled athlete continues to live on.
The Lis Hartel Foundation in the Netherlands continued her work in the disabled community, by creating and providing riding opportunities for disabled riders.
Her Olympic success and position as a disabled athlete was greatly admired at the time and inspired many other "fledgling" movements, including the momentum that would eventually lead to the formation of the Riding for Disabled People's Association in the UK.
She has been written about countless times, with her story even being transformed into a children's educational picture book by KT Johnson (information for which can be found in the archive).
Yes, Hartel's impact on both equestrian sport and sporting history as a whole can never be denied. And so let us close out this Disability Pride Month by honouring a great disabled champion:

Join the Golden Army: Where Brotherhood, Sports, and Transformation Await!
The Golden Army is more than a team—it’s a way of life. We embody the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and growth, not just on the soccer field but across all sports. Whether it’s dominating the basketball court, hitting homers on the baseball diamond, or crushing it in the weight room, we play every sport with passion and a golden pride that shines through. Our golden jerseys unite us, and the bond between teammates is what makes the Golden Army truly legendary.
The Power of the Golden Jersey
Tumblr media
When you wear the golden jersey, you’re not just joining a team—you’re embracing a new identity. That’s what happened to Nate, a self-described nerd who spent more time with his books than on the field. But once he put on the iconic golden jersey, everything changed. The jersey gave him a new sense of confidence, strength, and athletic prowess. The team took him under their wing, and within weeks, Nate had transformed into a jock, a powerful athlete who could keep up with the best. His new name? Griff, a nickname earned through hard work, sweat, and determination. The golden jersey doesn’t just change how you look—it changes who you are, bringing out the jock within every man.
Tumblr media
Led by the Best
Under the leadership of Captain Richard and co-captain Jackson, the Golden Army doesn’t just win—we thrive in every sport we play. Brody and Scott, our two recruiters, make sure of that by only accepting the best of the best for each sport. Manager Walter, with his noble and haughty demeanor, as well as Coach Chet, ensures that the team stays on track and that every player pushes past their limits. No matter where we play—on the field, court, or track—the Golden Army is a force to be reckoned with.
More Than a Team—A Brotherhood
The Golden Army isn’t just about becoming the best athlete you can be; it’s about finding a family that will support you every step of the way. Whether you’re winning championships or hanging out after a game, the bond between teammates is unbreakable. We push each other, we challenge each other, and we grow together.
Are you ready to transform? Ready to wear the golden jersey and join a brotherhood that’s dedicated to sports, growth, and your success? The Golden Army is waiting for you. Become part of our legacy, and let the jersey transform you into the athlete you were meant to be!

Challengers (2024) review
Tumblr media
That’s one way of engaging me in sport I guess.
Plot: Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a challenger event -- close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour. Tensions soon run high when he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick, his former best friend and Tashi's former boyfriend.
It’s safe to say this movie has blew up the internet. Zendaya with her major fan-base starring in a threesome tennis flick that’s brought to you by the director who revealed Timothee Chalamet to the world in that queer flick that featured the infamous peach scene? Now that’s quite the selling pitch. Naturally the result is a box office success and a movie that is already taking the top spot for the most memeable motion picture of the year. And I get it, this movie is definitely provocative enough and has enough sexual tension in it to excite any viewer. I’ll refer to my friend’s Letterboxd review for this movie with him saying the following: “I’ve found recently that hormones in films plays a factor in how much I like the film and this film is very horny”. Right, let’s not delve too deep into my friend’s evident sexual frustration, but he is not wrong that this movie reaches peak horny levels. Every scene is imbued with the steamy appetites of its central trio of characters. Like damn to these people want to f*ck hard big time! This should not come as a surprise though, as this follows a very similar formula to Luca Guadagnino’s other films, stoking the appetite of the youth to provide an open forum for unbridled desire to let loose. Call Me by Your Name, Suspiria, Bones and All, A Bigger Splash - every single one of these features tackles themes of sensuality and elegance. You know exactly what you’re getting into with a Guadagnino movie and Challengers is no exception.
That being said, with Challengers the actual narrative serves itself perfectly for a trashy B-movie experience, however it is thanks to Guadagnino’s directorial prowess that the film rises above that and becomes a truly cinematic experience. This thing looks great, and I don’t mean due to the lovely actors present, but the camerawork and the scene framework. The way the sweat drops off people’s faces in slow motion and the camera lingers on their stoic yet thoughtful facial expressions to the impressive tennis match scenes with a particular impressive sequence involving the scene being shown for, the perspective of the tennis ball which….I don’t know how the hell they managed it but that was awesome! Also need to mention the great techno score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross that creates an unlikely pairing in electronic dance music and classical, with the result really amping up the energy of every moment. Honestly from a technical standpoint this movie is a marvel.
In regards to the narrative that is where we start running into some trouble. For starters this movie did not need to be over 2 hours. The story was simple enough to shrink down to a 100 min max run-time, but instead the film opts to really dial in on extended pointless shots that linger way too long, so much so that I noted multiple audience members looking at their mobile phones to check the time. Secondly those excessive time jumps. Telling a story in a non-linear fashion can be a useful story-telling device, but here it was used way too much that it became distracting. Like there was a time jump back and forth every 5 minutes, with some jumps sprawling 13 years, which made it really difficult to get engaged in certain moments. Speaking of the 13 years, bless Zendaya’s heart but as much as they tried to age and de-age her through hair and make-up, she never looked older than 19 years regardless of the time era. For all of the film’s technical achievements you’d think they’d put more effort in the make-up department.
As for the actors, whilst I admire Zendaya for tackling such a meaty and, dare I say, challenging role, I feel like she’s too young in her acting career to be able to fully perform a weathered, jaded, cynical, ruthless and calculating character like Tashi. It seemed for the most part she relied on having a resting scowl face, but otherwise I found it actually hard to believe any of her chemistry with her male co-stars. As for the male co-stars, out of this love triangle it was in fact the queer relationship that really popped. Props to Mike Faist (who was a highlight for me in the recent West Side Story remake) and Josh O’Connor whose chemistry was through the roof! The way they looked at one another, to the churros to the way O’Connor smoothly moved Faist’s stool closer to his with his foot…… they can say they are best friends all they want but we just know they are both aching for those benefits! Again it’s how strong of performances these two give that hinders Zendaya who is nowhere close to their level.
Challengers overall is an entertaining enough youthful erotic crowd -pleaser that from a filmmaking standpoint looks fantastic, however due to the narrative structure and Zendaya’s arguable miscast this movie falters. That being said to Tom Holland, dude, I’ve seen your social media posts about being excited to support your girlfriend and going to see this movie, but dude, I bet your cried your eyes out after. Spider-Man - she ain’t coming home!
Overall score: 6/10

Yuuri's final career interview (and grieving "the end")
There's something so appealing to me about developing in-universe Yuri!!! on Ice social media or interview content, probably because it gives me an opportunity to write about Yuuri's continued success, as well as how others perceive the Viktuuri relationship (i.e. how adorable/supportive they are with one another). This was especially true when I was putting together content for the newest chapter in my 2018/2022 Olympic Games fic, which contains part of a BuzzFeed interview detailing Yuuri/Viktor's mindset a few days prior to the 2022 Beijing Games' Men's Singles Free Skate: the final performance of Yuuri's illustrious career.
(Spoilers ahead around some foundational aspects of my fic)
The world is clamoring to know how Yuuri -- not only the reigning Olympic Champion, but a 3-time GPF and 3-time World Champion as well -- feels about potentially becoming only the third skater in figure skating history to become a multi-Olympic champion. I thought it was pretty cute to be able to highlight that as Yuuri is contemplating defending his gold from the PyeongChang Games, that he's sitting right next to his spouse (and coach), who is a multi-Olympic champion due to winning gold at the 2010 Vancouver and 2014 Sochi Games.
Indeed, their interviewer is quite taken with them, and can barely hold back from gushing at every turn about the power couple that they are.
It goes on to include some quotes about the Viktuuri relationship from Phichit and Yurio's perspective, and also, naturally, touches upon Yuuri's mindset as he approaches the end of his career.
I imagine that Yuuri and Viktor are in a really unique situation when it comes to contemplating "the end", because most coaches and skaters are not as personally/professionally dependent on one another as they are (i.e. having been together for over five years, married for nearly 3). As such, it's not only Yuuri that has a lot of grieving to do around this chapter of their lives coming to an end, but Viktor as well.
Below is an excerpt that captures this sentiment, and I hope it'll pique your interest in checking out my work if you haven't already done so (note: the Viktor of my fic-verse comes out as gender-fluid in the summer of 2021, and is using feminine pronouns in this interview)
------
“I think one of the toughest parts of this is that we don’t really have a “model” to go off of, in the sense that others we know – that is, other coach/skater pairs, aren’t quite so emotionally entangled as we are,” Yuuri responds, his lips quirking a bit. “There was a moment last year when my therapist got me to see that Viktor wasn’t allowing herself to properly grieve because she’d gotten it into her head that she wasn’t allowed to…that as my coach, she had to make room for only my grief.”
He pauses, bringing their interlaced fingers up to his mouth to kiss Viktor’s wedding ring.
“But the end of my career isn’t just about me. It’s about her, too, because she’s an intrinsic part of my story…the very core of it,” he goes on, his eyes beginning to shine with tears.
“I wouldn’t have made it this far without Viktor, both in the sense of having a benchmark to strive for, but also in terms of having the person I’d looked up to for most of my life demonstrate their steadfast belief in me time and time again.”
It’s at this moment that Viktor wrests her hand away, encircling both arms around her husband’s midsection in a tight hug (which may have prompted me to make a slightly embarrassing swooning sound).
“There’s many tools that I use to quiet my anxiety, but on the occasions when I’m able to ground myself in that fact – the fact that Viktor has promised to stay close to me, no matter how I do on any particular day and in any particular performance – it’s on those occasions when I’m unstoppable,” Yuuri goes on, his countenance transforming into that determined one he sometimes adopts, right before executing a dazzling step sequence or setting up for the Katsuki Combo: the quad flip/triple toe-loop that he debuted for the first time in competition at the 2018 Games (note: at the time this interview was conducted, no other skater had managed to land such a jump in competition, but this changed when Phichit Chulanont executed a flawless version during his Short Program).
“I don’t think I’m speaking out of turn when I say that she’s had an insurmountable weight on her shoulders from a very young age…which resulted in this expectation that she must be strong at all times, like some kind of emotionally impenetrable fortress,” Yuuri says, looking to her for confirmation (which she gives with a sobering nod). “So part of the journey we’ve had to go on together in our relationship is one where she’s had to learn how to lean on me, too, and I’ve had to shore up my confidence so that I don’t falter when she does so…or, at least, don’t falter as much.”

At just 19 years old, William Richardson made history by winning his first world title in natural bodybuilding, a feat that captivated the fitness community and left a lasting legacy for young athletes everywhere. His victory was a testament to years of dedication, discipline, and a commitment to competing clean, without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs.
The Beginning of a Dream
William's journey into bodybuilding began at a young age, sparked by his love for sports and a desire to push his physical limits. Growing up in a small village in portugal, William was always drawn to the idea of strength and fitness. He started calisthenics at 14, not with the goal of competing, but to improve his athletic performance in other sports. However, it didn’t take long before he became fascinated with bodybuilding, admiring the discipline and aesthetics of the sport.
By the time he was 15, William was devoting himself to bodybuilding full-time. He spent countless hours in his basement doing push-ups
And sit-ups, learning everything he could about training techniques, nutrition, and recovery. His dedication quickly paid off, and he began to build muscle at an impressive rate. However, the real turning point came when he decided he would compete without using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs. Inspired by natural bodybuilding champions like Steve Reeves! who prided themselves on achieving their physiques through hard work and discipline alone, William made a promise to himself to stay drug-free throughout his journey.
The Road to the Top
As a teenager, William faced skepticism from some of his peers who believed that a drug-free bodybuilder couldn’t compete at the highest levels. Many doubted his ability to compete with those who used PEDs. But William’s determination only grew stronger. At 18, he entered his first regional bodybuilding competition, where he quickly earned a reputation for his impressive symmetry and muscle definition. Although he didn't take home the top prize in his first attempt, the competition added valuable experience and knowledge to his journey.
In the following months, William transformed his body through intense training, a carefully calculated diet, and proper recovery. He was relentless, not just in his physical effort, but in his mental commitment to becoming the best natural bodybuilder he could be. By 19, William had built a physique that was both powerful and aesthetically pleasing—attributes that would make him a serious contender in any competition.
The World Stage
At 19, after years of hard work and dedication, William entered the Natural Bodybuilding World Championship after winning every show beforehand. This was his moment. The competition was fierce, with athletes from all over the world bringing their best physiques to the stage. But when William stepped onto the stage, it was clear that he had something special. His muscularity, definition, and balance set him apart from the competition. His posing was flawless, showcasing the true craftsmanship he has and attention to detail.
The judges were impressed by his commitment to staying natural, and after a tense round of comparisons and posing, William was crowned the World Champion in the Teenage category. He had done what many thought was impossible—at just 19 years old, he had earned the title of the best natural bodybuilder in the world.
A Champion’s Legacy
Winning the world title was not just a personal victory for William Richardson; it was an inspiration to countless young athletes around the world. His success demonstrated that with the right mindset, discipline, and dedication, it was possible to reach the pinnacle of bodybuilding even without the best equipment or without resorting to shortcuts. William’s victory was a beacon of hope for those who believed in achieving greatness through hard work alone.
For William, this world title was just the beginning. He knew that with his discipline and commitment, he could continue to improve, pushing the boundaries of what he could achieve. The teenager who once started working out in his mums basement! had now become a world champion—a symbol of the power of perseverance and dedication in the world of natural bodybuilding.
