The thing that really kills me about Logan is that his kids are disappointing and ultimately unfit to be CEO, and it's not just that they're like that because he made them like that, but that they're like that because he wants them to be that way.
For all his talk about them being spoiled or coddled and his rant in the S3 finale that getting cut out of running Waystar is their chance to "be your own man" and build something themselves, he has spent the entire show actively undermining any attempt of theirs to do that. Shiv stays out and works in politics, but as soon as she joins a big campaign that could actually distinguish her from her family, he tells her he wants to make her CEO. He offers to buy Kendall out of his shares, but as soon as Kendall tries to take the offer and cut himself out, he refuses. He says he wants them out of the business and doing their own thing, and then as soon as they start actually doing that and buy Pierce, he tries to get Roman back.
The fact of the matter is that as much as he might claim to want a "real" heir, what he really wants is to never need one and for his children to stay children: incomplete, incapable, and under his thumb.

Why I believe Natlan's technologies aren't "out-of-place."
Just because Natlan isn't considered "technologically advanced" doesn't mean they would not be able to create or possess technologies that just seem "too modern" for the previously seen nations.
Natlan's technologies may not be considered "advanced" because most of their creations are solely for recreational purposes. Xilonen's DJ board, rollerskates, and Mualani's surfboard are all mainly for ease of use to to influence of their environments. (Kinich is an exception as he isn't really powered by technology nor is Ajaw.)
Even when most of the technologies seem too advanced, like Kachina's drill, and Chasca's gun, they were both originally created to imitate the Saurian counterparts. If all a piece of technology does is just provide ease of access and combine simple regional solutions, its likely not worth too much note to outside nations. which would likely happen with inventors like Xilonen experimenting with phlogiston and forging.
Xilonen is an extremely important factor to note. She has proven herself to be one of the most intelligent inventors in Natlan. Her skill with harnessing Phlogiston energy is crucial to how all these technologies' existence. It makes sense that learning how to create traditional works with Phlogiston would overlap into accidental new discoveries that Xilonen uses to her advantage.
This is further explored in the new Flower-Feather Clan Tribal Chronicles quest chain. Phlogiston Wings are specifically created to supplant and replace their saurians. However, it's not too far off to think that it would be a rather common idea, especially since Elemental Manipulation exists in the world.
Phlogiston and Ochkanatlan relics are the main power sources used in Natlan tech. With an abundance of phlogiston and the (suggested) immense power of the relics, creating their technology isn't that far-fetched. They put their resources and time into the arts, music, and changing traditions more than orderly improvements to the nation, and it shows.
Other nations definitely will beat out Natlan in their technological advancements; the ones that don't beat Natlan have reasons. Mondstadt is a poor anarchist state with no emphasis on any actual governing organization. The nation isn't very wealthy so it makes sense they wouldn't have much innovation and trade occurring within the nation. Liyue harnesses a special material called Plaustrite in the Jade Chamber, which enables it to fly. Inazuma doesn't have an abundance of technology due to the Shogun's rule effectively trying to stop evolution and innovation within the nation, as a pursuit of eternity. However, a number of innovations still happened before the Shogun's rule, like the Tatarasuna accident and the creation of a puppet for Ei. Sumeru and Fontaine is where differences really start to show. All of the desert's tech as well as the Akademiya's research shows what happens if a nation pours their innovation into education, not the arts. The existence of Akasha terminals, dreamscapes, mind control, and digital storage all exist in the game, yet no one seems to call it out. Fontaine isn't much better. Literal androids roam the streets, motorized boats sail around the harbor, and guns are a popular weapon.
Guns are already known throughout Teyvat, just Xilonen imitated their function while adding a custom one from Chasca.
Then there comes the big issue. Mavuika's motorcycle. However this argument is instantly able to be countered. It's said that Xianyun/Cloud Retainer has created a similar vehicle, a powered two wheel vehicle. Mavuika's simply takes the idea (which is probably also not a very hard concept to think up,) and gives it a Natlan remodel. The aesthetics are just a Natlan revamp, with the power source just being Phlogiston. (I can't speak for her bike fighting animations. They just look kinda goofy, but I like them anyways lol.)
All in all, I think people complain too much and you shouldn't nitpick something you don't like simply because you don't like it. (Especially if your argument can be countered.) Even if it is a little off-putting, with a little thinking, mostly everything can be explained or proven possible to exist.
If anyone has any objections to reasonings or information I've missed please tell me!!

Prime Fight (4 theories)
Did both Evil Morty and Morty Prime do more than we realize? (based on the Freaky Mortys: Unmorticken Edition theory, which you should totally go read, although I no longer think any "brain control" took place, just wireless communication)
Theory 1: Evil Morty did more than we realize
Here you can see Evil Morty just barely avoiding becoming a pancake by a Diane Bot:
Tumblr media
Here you can see that Rick C-137 becoming a pancake apparently made a big impression on Evil Morty:
Tumblr media
At the time I thought he was thinking:
"Ooh, did this do it? Are ya dead? No? Yes? No. Crap. WAIT! If our tank is down, I have to take over--" (I mean, I doubt Evil Morty would shed a tear for Rick C-137 dying, but he definitely doesn't want to get killed himself, sooo... go go go go)
However, if the above mentioned Unmorticken Freaky Mortys theory is correct, what he's really thinking is:
"Oooh, this thing is tough enough to bring a Rick down. Should destroy them all asap..."
And soon after, we indeed see an eyepatched Morty (whoever he is) shooting the Diane Bots down, so presumably that's what Evil Morty was thinking.
However, before that happens, this happens:
Tumblr media
Right before Eyepatched Morty shoots them down, one of the Diane Bots hits Rick Prime.
AND EXPLODES.
That's new.
(even the way they strike is new)
I mean, it's weird enough that it hit Rick Prime in the first place! He's smart, wtf. Did he get sloppy? Does he have residual regrets about killing his wife? Does he like a challenge, and finds having to avoid his own weapons entertaining? Did the Diane Bot get confused because of the C-137 leg that was in Prime's shoulder? Technically all the above are possible explanations but we aren't given a specific explanation for such a crucial moment in the fight (which is kinda suspicious) and the Diane Bots had seemed accurate up to then.
And, uh... why did it explode? Is Rick Prime himself like a bomb, set to explode if he ever gets squished?
Tumblr media
As the next scene pans out, we see that its fingers have been cut off by the explosion, and are all yellow. Which I get in this setting means "red-hot", but it could also be a color-coded message for us viewers that Evil Morty had something to do with the malfunction of the robot.
Like this moment:
Tumblr media
And I'd like to point out that when Rick cuts something in half with his own knif-y thing, the cuts are traced blue:
Tumblr media
Anyway there is a suspicious pause between the last moment when we see Evil Morty fighting (using the palm canon of the sliced Primebot to save Morty Prime's life) and the next moment we see him, kneeling on the floor with his arms over his head. Did he do nothing in between that time? (obviously he wasn't able to hijack the Dianebots like they did with the flying drone because then he wouldn't have guided Morty Prime to go shoot them down, he would have kept using them... But maybe he managed to only partially hijack its arm or do something else?)
So maybe when he was staring at C-137's incapacitated body, what Evil Morty was really thinking was:
"Oooh, this thing is tough enough to bring a Rick down. I should use this on Rick Prime."
Theory 2: Morty Prime did more than we realize
This scene? With the little salute?
Tumblr media
Yeah, I'm now convinced that's Evil Morty gesturing while telepathically telling Morty Prime "Fly up to shoot the Dianebots, I'll go help Ri-FUCK"
And Morty Prime nods in agreement.
(I mean, we use gestures when speaking normally. It wouldn't be too weird to use them when speaking via brain linkage of eyepatch, too.)
And initially I thought that Evil Morty was brain-controlling both Morty Prime and the drone, but now I realize that would be pointless, and nothing but a drain for his concentration.
We've seen instances of Evil Morty's puppeteering, and it seemed he mostly had to pause what he was doing in order to puppeteer Evil Rick, at least when it came to key fighting moments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note how they had to shoot one by one and didn't attack simultaneously?
But even if he got better with practice and by now can totally control more than one person's body... if Evil Morty was able to control the drone, he didn't need Morty Prime to also be riding it, getting in great heights and risking breaking his neck.
So yeah, that Morty flying up, piloting the drone via eye-patch, shooting Dianebots? That is Morty Prime being extremely cool all by himself (I think lol, all this is just speculation).
Theory 3: Evil Morty' story keeps getting sadder and sadder
I no longer think any actual temporary brain "control" took place, because:
a) I doubt that Morty Prime would ever agree to that, no matter how Evil Morty could have presented it as a perk.
b) It'd be creepy as heck for Evil Morty to just have a spare brain control eyepatch lying around in his space mansion, like, uh, that feels too much even for him. I mean, he lives all alone, he didn't expect anyone to ever visit, it'd be like he was obsessing with the idea of mind controlling Morty Prime this whole time. That's that's that's way too creepy. NOPE.
c) Evil Rick needed brain surgery to be mind controlled. Cables wired in his brain and stuff. Sounds time consuming to perform when you have to hastily prep before a big fight, even if you can pause time in your awesome space mansion with time crystals. (And Morty Prime got scanned while being a kuato, if there were cables in his skull Rick would have spotted them). I doubt Evil Morty would have been able to substitute doing a brain surgery with something as simple as wearing an eyepatch, otherwise he'd slap one on Rick Prime. The closest thing to instant brain-override on a person we've seen are those fingergun things.
But I totally think Morty Prime wearing the eyepatch allows him to wirelessly communicate with Evil Morty's brain (i.e. with Evil Morty's own implant) in real time. Which feels a lot more exposing for Evil Morty, because while Morty Prime only gets a screen before his eyes, Evil Morty would be basically linking his own freaking brain to an object gifted to a third party, which if used maliciously could probably be turned against him (*hold that thought). And therefore it is a lot friendlier, and nicer, and more likely for Morty Prime to agree to see Evil Morty's thoughts presented to him in text form than it'd be to agree to get mind-controlled. And I can totally see Evil Morty creating such a nice eyepatch for his potential companion in the same way he built a second seat in his spaceship. (Which, in turn, would mean that the little yellow robotic-brain-override cylinder that Morty Prime uses to control the drone was also equipment specifically made for Evil Morty's potential companion so that he, too, could have a mild version of Evil Morty's signature brain-related capabilities)
And yeah, because Evil Morty trusts no one, the extra eyepatch has a built-in mind-blower-like gimmick, scrambling Morty Prime's memories of what happened, so that:
(a) he cannot tell Rick C-137 details of Evil Morty's space base, and
(b) Evil Morty cannot get disappointed when Morty Prime inevitably turns his back to follow Rick C-137. The whole experience can be reduced to a single "thanks for the assist".
And maybe I'm just grabbing at straws, because Evil Morty has a very small range of casual expressions ranging from annoyed to deadpan to the one I call tired & miserable so you can never really be sure what he's thinking or feeling, but... uh...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His expression does change the moment he turns his back to Morty Prime, to the tired & miserable version.
Tumblr media
I doubt that he informed Morty Prime of the built-in mind blower thing beforehand, but even if he did I feel like Morty Prime would understand this particular precaution.
(*did you hold that thought?)
Theory 4: A worrying scenario
Tumblr media
We've seen Rick C-137 using a Prime drone (that he got from that time portal travelers were reset) to begin tracking Rick Prime down.
Tumblr media
(Evil Morty's first puppet)
Tumblr media
(Evil Morty's first eyepatch)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(freaking evidence)
Tumblr media
(Evil Morty's awesome golden sword)
Tumblr media
(Evil Morty's communication eyepatch and the remains of the drone he overrode, with the little golden override cylinder presumably still attached)
Tumblr media
(Evil Morty's awesome finger gun brain-overriding bullets)
Boy, I know you're not used to people going after you, specifically, because you appear either too innocent to be dangerous, or you appear too dangerous to be worth attacking (and I know you're a clone so you're not used to someone telling you to clean your room), but please stop littering. Stop leaving remains of your tech just lying around. I don't want anyone to trace you back by studying your awesome brain tech. Please stop. Stop stop stop.

Theory: Shugoddom lineage is all clones
Not sure if I posted that already, but whatever, we got some new info to put in here anyway
Ok, so thanks to Kyoryuger crossover we got it confirmed that people of Chikyuu came there from Earth (which was also speculated by many people but now we have it rock-solid)
Now, this also confirms that people of that era had the technology advanced enough for space colonization. We know that at least Caucasus Kabuto Castle was built back on Earth but most likely so did King-Ohger Zero, given that it is a prototype for King-Ohger, as well as it having a matching colour pattern, plus both can only be operated by Hastie blood
Ah, yes, the Hastie blood. Given that Reiniol Hastie became one of the first kings and, de facto, the most important one, combining it with his exclusivity of using the mecha, he was most likely the captain of the ship and was in charge of the whole project. The DNA lock most likely served as a security measure, so only the captain would be able to control such a crucial element of the expedition
But how come, that over 2000 years, those precious genes didn't dilute and Racules is still able to use OhgerCalibur Zero? Hell, how come Gira could bypass the DNA lock calibrated to Racules? Sure, they are brothers, but there's still a very high possibility that they could have inherited different genes from their parents. On top of that, there are those suspicious red markings, that both Gira and Racules have, as well as Reiniol himself
How to make sure that next generation of Hasties maintains a genome that would allow them to still use ZERO and Caucasus Kabuto? That's right - cloning! But I don't think it would be straight up cloning. All the Hastie family members differ in their appearance and one could say that they couldn't use one the same actor for all those roles for obvious reasons, but that's no fun, so let's look for an in-universe explaination
My guess is that 100% DNA compativility is not necessary, but only specific DNA string exclusive to Hasties and, most likely, related to their red markings. What's more, slight randomisation of the genes that aren't part of that specific string would be welcome, especially that people might freak out if all the people in the dynasty look exactly the same
One could argue that space travel and building mecha is a different kind of advanced tech than cloning. It's true, but we've also seen that Shugoddom possesses the technology to revive the dead! Or maybe, it wasn't revival of the original Daigorg, but rather his clone that was supposed to have the same properties and serve the same purpose as the original?
We've also seen inplications, that the Bugnarok used to be humans that mutated from absorbing shugod souls (I suspect some accident that led to it, hence why we got so many so quickly). Not only it means that DNA alteration plots are on the table, but since Gira is also implied to have absorbed God Kuwagata's soul, yet his body wasn't affected at all, which may suggest that the special genes of the Hastie family allow them to safely connect with Shugods
Speaking of which, Reiniol was said to be chosen by tge shugods, just like Gira was. Not only would it work as another security measure, but would be quite handy. Imagine you can just tell the ship how to maneuver itself, or ask it exactly which part of it got broken
But of course, you wouldn't trust so much power over such an important mission to a single random person. Of course, Reiniol could have been some renowned pilot hence why he was trusted with such responsibility but... it could have been that he himself was created as some sort of experiment, and for his whole life he was trained to wield the responsibility over the colonisation mission. It brings to mind Jerami's story of how the first king of Shugoddom defeated all the other kings in their respective fields of expertise. It could be because he's been trained his whole life to be prepared for anything when he'd lead humanity in the uncharted territories in the space
One could say that he was a specifically crafted tool, that would be able to deal with any hardships that a leader/ruler may face... and we know whose trademark is comparing people to tools

[ID: Panels from the manga Katekyo Hitman Reborn, showing Uni in the process of sacrificing herself to revive the Arcobaleno.
She says, "I must. Their revival is crucial in order return you all to a peaceful past. And in turn, it will save many innocent lives as well... The time has finally come for me to be able to make good use of my powers... This is the only chance I can take... and my destiny, which I cannot escape from. /End ID]
i agree actually (tho the og post is already in my queue by now, oops)!! but i also have to still somewhat disagree a little. because like, just like you said, he'd rather she sacrificed herself for the arco at a later point when he would have been ready for it and when he could have made use of her sacrifice but... that's still him needing her to die too to fulfill his ambitions, isn't it? and even before he realized uni was the last key to his grand plan, he still knew he needed to get his hands on the trinisette and was clearly resolved to do that, and even knowing the arco die without their pacifiers, including uni, it still didn't stop him from going after them, did it?
that said, it is absolutely more ambiguous than that, you're right. because like, why did he bother drugging uni and keeping her by his side and under his control and alive even after he already got his hands on the mare rings? and he didn't even need to do that to get his hands on them to begin with, as he already had the giglio nero backed in a corner anyway, so it was just a matter of time before he wiped them out and took the mare rings by force.
one reason that comes to mind is that killing uni would of course have made the black spell rebel against him, but it was already established they were no threat to him whatsoever. and if nothing else, having them in his territory after the merging of both their families would have made it even easier for him to kill them all for rebelling.
another reason i can think off is that he needed uni on his side and under his control lest she went and died protecting someone else from him, like he said she did multiple times in the different parallel worlds. which'd be interesting because it'd imply that 1) the arco need to die/be killed a certain way for their pacifiers to be taken from them and still remain usable (reborn does take note of the way colonnello's pacifier seemed to have been "forcibly snatched from someone after a battle", and uni says that "even if [byakuran] take them, they can't be called trinisette" and that "if their soul is gone, the pacifiers won't show their reason for existence"), and/or 2) that he needed to take uni's pacifier last for one reason or another.
(it could also be that uni simply had non-negligible political power and influence and impact as the sky arcobaleno and their boss, and as giglio nero decima, which family is said to have just as long and meaningful a history as vongola. so having her being on his side, being part of his family, and being the second boss of the family after him, no doubt helped him in his war to non-negligible extent.)
as for him needing her to use her power to create a new world instead of resetting the timelines, seeing as the later costed her her life, it's safe to assume the former would also do the same, and, well. it's also safe to assume it wouldn't have stopped byakuran and that he'd still have made her go through with it, right?
(THEN AGAIN, it's just as safe to assume that uni died only because she had to revive the arco first. like, in a hypothetical world where byakuran would manage to convince the arco to create his new world out of their own volition, would it still cost uni's life to do it? i mean, no doubt it'd cost something either way, something pricey too, surely, but not necessarily her life for all we know.)
so either way, uni needs to inevitably die at some point for byakuran to create his new world, which he is resolved to do no matter what.
yet at the same time, it really doesn't seem uni's death is something he wants. so there's definitely room for interpretation here which i had never realized before, you're right.
... oh wait, maybe that's why she revived him? bc he had to die as part of her destiny?
moth you can't just SAY stuff like that omggg. okay, okay, i... could see it, which. i mean??? but also consider this slightly less ruthless and stone-cold interpretation: maybe she revived him because she needed him to live so she could fulfill her destiny.
because byakuran is one third of the sky trinisette, which are the most fundamental parts of the trinisette without which it can't function as it's meant to anymore. (well, kawahira says only the pacifiers really matter, but whatever lol. i mean, surely the sky rings at least should matter too??) and without him the balance would be broken, which'd mean she wouldn't be able to fulfill her destiny in a meaningful way when her destiny is literally about making sure the trinisette keeps functioning as it's meant to.
but ALSO. the angst of uni reviving byakuran not because she forgave him for what he did, or because she thought there was good in him and he could be a better person than he was, or because she believed everyone deserved a second chance, but simply because she needed him to be alive in the most utilitarian way. so she could make use of his life.
and from byakuran's pov it's the single most meaningful thing anyone's ever done for him, but meanwhile uni just... needs him to live for as long as him being alive is useful to her.
moth you're so insane for this and make me so unwell <3
byakuran had to die for uni's role to be fulfilled…………..

Welcome to What If They Were Evil, or, going through a bunch of characters and thinking, what if they were part of the Neverseen? Is this likely in canon? How would that change things if it were?
Today we're going through the Gay Adult Crew (tm). (Aka, Livvy, Prentice, Quinlin, etc.)
Livvy: Livvy has the necessary anger at the Council to be part of the Neverseen, but she very clearly doesn't have the necessary anger at humans. So, is this likely in canon? No. But it's fun to think about. Her presence during the creation of Project Moonlark makes for some interesting possibilities if she were to be a double agent. She could alter Forkle's plans for Sophie to benefit the Neverseen without him knowing. And she could easily extract important Council information from Quinlin, since they're married. Also, she has close connections to the Vackers, which could be useful.
Prentice: There is 0 chance of him being part of the Neverseen in canon, on account of the fact that he literally doesn't show up anymore. Where did he go, Shannon? What happened to his supposedly major storyline? Nobody knows. But, anyway, if he were to be part of the Neverseen... well, the Neverseen would likely know a lot of classified Black Swan secrets. Also, Tiergan and Wylie would be devastated. The thing is, I don't think there really is any logical way for him to be a Neverseen member in canon? From the start, he's essentially the Face of the Black Swan in the Lost Cities' eyes. The story wouldn't make sense if the Neverseen knew what Prentice knows. So I have to rate this one a Not Likely.
Quinlin: Okay, honestly? I'm not convinced that he's not secretly Neverseen in canon. He's pretty much responsible for finding Sophie in Book 1, and he seemed to be keeping pretty good tab on the fires. I just can't figure out what his motive would be. Maybe heartbreak thanks to Alden. Anyway, if this were to be true, I honestly don't think anyone would really be too affected? I think it would only push Alden and Della further into their isolation, sadness, post-Alvar hole. And Livvy would only be angrier at him than she is already.
Della: She's a talented spy, canonically. It wouldn't be hard for her to sneak around for both groups. She's close to high-ranking members in the Black Swan, has a powerful position in the government, and is part of the most influential family in the Lost Cities. And if she were to be part of the Neverseen? It would throw everyone into a frenzy. The Vackers would probably lock themselves away, like they did with Alden's mind break. Grady and Edaline would be devastated; after all, that would mean that one of their closest friends was directly involved in the murder of their daughter. The Collective wouldn't be sure who to trust anymore, since a traitor was able to swear fealty to them. Actually, I think Neverseen Della would be even more of an upheaval to the main crew than Alvar's reveal—but there's one crucial, missing component: what's her motive? She doesn't have reason to hate both humans and the Council enough to join the Neverseen. Unless there's something we don't know yet.
Elwin: Let's play a game of "Make All of Keefe's Parental Figures Evil Because Why Not." Anyway. I believe canon makes it pretty clear that he's not a Neverseen member, unless he's really good at hiding it. It's possible that he was a Neverseen member before Gisela took control and then left, which is why he didn't turn Keefe in. But, the issue is as seen before: what's his motive? What reason does he have to play a double agent of sorts? Highly unlikely, in my opinion. But it would make everyone very, very concerned.
Juline: She hates the Council but likes humans. So that's 50% of the way there to Neverseen Beliefs. It's unlikely that she's actually part of the Neverseen, given that she's a major part of the Collective. But if she were? It would devastate Dex. Dex's reaction upon finding out his mother was Black Swan was already angry, so his reaction to this? He'd be furious. Maybe it would push him across the line to go absolutely crazy against the Neverseen. I'm talking Arsonist Sophie level crazy. Which would be fun, but also, we already had one major reveal with Juline. It's unlikely that there would be another.

the THING about Scott and Lydia, platonic romantic whatever, is that Lydia's first experience with the supernatural is all the stuff with Peter - she's manipulated and controlled, her selfhood and autonomy is unbelievably violated, she has no one to turn to, she thinks she's going crazy, she has voices in her head, she's always been fundamentally alone because of her intelligence but now she's alone and no one even knows that she is, when she learns about Scott and all the rest still they don't know what she is for ages, and putting it all together no one would blame her for becoming closed off to the supernatural, for becoming bitter and twisted, for essentially going down the Morgana in Merlin route right??? It's a very similar beginning for both of them. But she doesn't, she becomes kinder she starts helping, because she's not isolated and scared!!! And obviously it's not all due to Scott but a lot of it is.
Scott takes on the supernatural, he takes on the role of a leader and he says "I'm going to lead I'm going to use all this supernatural ability for good" and he's the first one we see doing that and his example leads others to it! Derek is so weird and bad in the first seasons! Isaac is my beloved but he and Erica and Boyd, though deeply sympathetic, don't choose kindness when they're turned, not at first! And this and peter and the kanima, these are all the examples of the supernatural that Lydia is faced with, the only exception is Scott but he's good enough that he gives her hope in it, that she could also do good with these powers, because no one else is showcasing them as something good! but he is!!! Lydia would never run and hide because of Scott! He gives her something to believe in because he leads her in kindness when she's faced so much cruelty from the supernatural before. When she says she might be able to get him more time, he promises her he'll do something about that, he assures her that it wouldn't be in vain. And then in season 4 her insistance that monsters don't have to be evil, they can be kind and gentle and good!!! and she believes that because of Scott!!!!
anyway I do believe Scott saves her in a way, he stops her from being dragged down into that isolation and fear and pain by saying look I have these strange powers too and I'm here and I'm not leaving and I'm going to do something GOOD I'm going to HELP and that's a huge part of dragging her out of the horrors of season 2, and so even if their relationship isn't romantic (which tbh I'm not wedded to they can be either i don't mind) it's crucial! it's one of the beating hearts of the story!!! It means so much to me!!! that's why.
Grace m'dear first of all I love you and I love that you sat down and took the time to write this all out :)
Second of all this is a Lot of food for thought.... I am going to chew on this as I watch season 4 because hmmm this is very interesting.......... I thought of you and what you said about Scott/Lydia while I was watching season 3--in that scene where Derek was like Lydia won't run and the twins are like WHY because of STILES? (in a real derogatory way... which sidenote Songbird did not appreciate) and Derek was like NO because of Scott and I was like Ah. AH that's right. Scott is the one holding everything together. Scott is the moral compass and the trailblazer and the one holding the torch for the cause.
I think it's also compelling because Lydia shows a certain tendency towards pessimism (which I think she calls realistic thinking in her head) and Despair (especially in season 3 when she's been taken captive). And Scott is like the poster boy of Hope. So I will keep thinking on this ;)

So, I rewatched Risk again and... Welp, I'm still getting shocked at how much this boy's will was controlled. But I'm gonna come back to that in a bit. What I want to bring to attention first is:
Felix' reaction upon seeing Emilie.
The amount of theories and what they're saying about Emilie rivals the one about Pink Diamond's (from Steven Universe) personality and we all know how that went.
The shock Felix had is just... I would say the same as one of a person who was controlled in every aspect against their will and mistreated as a living being and that now saw the abuser who they thought was long gone. His first reaction was to get as far away as possible; he even had his back against the tube elevator. Though, he did recover quite fast after he got out if there...
And then there was another thing, with Adrien, in the Christmas special.
Remember when he openly said he couldn't destroy a Christmas tree because his 'mom' came to mind just as he was about to?
Back then, and up until now, I dismissed that as the typical trope of a kid not being able to destroy something that symbolizes their positive relationship with a deceased parent, but.... Nothing that could hold water for that trope came up at that moment. And we KNOW he's a Sentibeing, so... what if.... he was just 'programed' to never misbehave like that? It would make all the sense - if Gabriel and Amelie wanted a perfect son (and so far we've seen Gabriel never letting Adrien have a say in what he wants to do) they/she most likely must have made him act that way. And Sentibeings can't act opposite to how their creators intended them to be, even when the creator dies (unless they're given their Amok).
So yeah. Really scared of how dark this backstory could be.
On the other, and even more concerning, hand - what does that make Felix? How did he come to be? Why does he look exactly like his 'cousin' (or better called - Sentimonster twin)? What did they do to him? Was he discarded as a flawed creation and given to Amelie? How badly was he mistreated??
Adrien, as far as I could tell from an artistic side, really has the appearance of both Emilie and Gabriel, as if he has both of their genes. So why does Felix look exactly the same? I mean, we are missing one crucial figure in this story - and that is Felix's 'father'. Unless he looks somewhat similar to Gabriel, then it makes no sense for both of these boys to look the same.
Even worse - we know that Sentimonsters can't be snapped out of existence by anyone else other than the wearer of the Peacock Miraculous OR the creator themselves. BUT GABRIEL THREATENED TO KILL HIM WITH A SNAP and that was followed by Felix's reply: "I knew you were no ordinary man uncle." What does it mean???
Astruc did confirm that only one holder can create one Sentimonster at a time, and that one can give the Peacock Miraculous to another person to create a different one. So did Emilie create Adrien and Gabriel create Felix? Or does it have something to do with the twin rings? Though, in that case, Gabriel shouldn't be able to have a say in what happens to Felix's existence. Also, Felix wasn't afraid of him; so what is going on??...
... I think it's time we all accepted that Miraculous took a dark turn - or at least finally revealed that very dark backstory no one was aware of.
And if you wanna talk about mistreatment of the Sentibeings... now's the time. I think this all perfectly sums up how creating something only so you would make it do whatever you want it to do is as inhumane as mistreating any other human and living being. There are no excuses.
... "Getting sentimental on a Sentimonster" rings a bell. But, that same man, who views Sentis in such a way did go to certain lengths so Adrien wouldn't get killed or otherwise harmed; he does seem to care about him in some way. Although... he shows that he doesn't care if he hurts him emotionally or psychologically when he uses him for his masterplans. Plus... he stated that the "ring is the only thing he has left of his wife"... Okay, Adrien is a big part of that ring. Is that why he doesn't want to lose him? Just because he's a memento of Emilie? It didn't seem that way....
Idk, feel free to share your thoughts with me. But, for heaven's sake - be nice. And go away if you're coming here only to salt on Thomas Astruc's writing.

Hi hun i had a thought and I'm curious as to how the slashers would react to reader or a person with the ability to create, control and manipulate blood as they please?
not really a fic req but if this isn't 4 u then dw about answering hun 🥰
(if u want something more specific, like they're able to solidify blood in shapes and objects and use it as their mask or shape it into an arrow or mug idk, maybe they can make someone's blood vessels pop/burst etc)
Freddy :
Tumblr media
" Hum..Wait a d*mn minute..You have super powers ?!"
Freddy would be excited. I mean, he would try to make you use your powers as much as possible. He would find it so cool and useful and would just want you to try it on him as many times as possible (in his dream world). He wants you to make his brain (or other parts of his body) explode, just so he can scare the nurses and everyone around. As far as he's concerned ? He loves it. You're the perfect prank buddy.
Tumblr media
He wouldn't really care. Pennywise is a giant brown spider that feeds on kids. Who would he be to judge or fear you ? However, once he's seen what you can do ? He would most likely ask you to blow his bodies up or use their blood to form certain things just for the fun of it. He would laugh and just support you the best he can.
" Best power ever ! Come on, how about we blow this body right there ?!"
Tumblr media
"Is it contagious ?"
First question he asks. Dennis would find it weird at first and would try to find out if it is some kind of disease or something. But, once he knows it isn't ? He would slowly get used to it and just wear a lot of products on him, just in case. Plus let's be honest, controlling blood cells is not very hygienic for him and blood is the hardest thing to wash after all. Just, try to use it as little as possible around him.
Tumblr media
Michael wouldn't really mind, even though would be a bit worried that you use your powers against him. But, once his worries gone ? He'd keep treating you the same way he has from the beginning. Michael is still alive because he's always cautious. He doesn't let anything escape his eyes and is a good slasher, because he's very observant. He would have figured it out eventually. But, he's still glad he learned it from you first. He acknowledges honesty.
Tumblr media
"And ?"
Arthur doesn't see anything wrong with it. In fact, he would ask why it would bother him ? He's seen his share of blood and guts. It doesn't scare or disgust him anymore. Actually, he would maybe even ask you if you could kill some of the people he has a problem with ? (besides Batman, that one is for him and him alone to kill) But, if you want to talk ? He would listen and comfort you.
Tumblr media
" Oh really ? You have powers too ?"
Five would obviously ask if you're like him ? If you gained your powers from birth and if you're born on the same day as him and his siblings ? He would be curious and ask you lots of questions about your abilities and how you acquired them ? Also, maybe ask you to show him and his family ? In case they have an answer or you're just one of the lucky children that their father never found..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
" I can do that too ! Look !"
Don't forget that Penny also manipulates blood and would most likely be excited to see someone else like him, other than Pennywise that is. He would show you his own abilities proudly, probably by killing a nurse that was walking by or something. So, for him, it's totally natural and wouldn't mind. He loves blood, it's a big part of his usual meals..
Tumblr media
Now, don't take it personally, but Brahms doesn't like the sight of blood. Strange for a slasher, right ? Well, it's not the small amount or the act of killing in itself. He just doesn't like the sight of blood in huge quantity. The texture and the smell makes him nauseous and he will probably panic when you first mention it, even more if you show him. It will take time for him to get used to it. For the moment, unless it's crucial, don't use it in front of him..
Tumblr media
Jason would not be afraid to tell you that he already found you extraordinary before, you just proved him what he already knew. He is the slasher with the most impressive kill count. A little blood doesn't scare him. If you feel self-conscious about your power ? He would be there to help and make you feel better.
" Monster ? I don't see a monster..You're perfect.."
He would just tell you what he always wanted to hear. He would reassure you and insist that there is nothing wrong with you.

Sannin headcanons and thoughts
The last thing I would like to post for the sannin week. It is still 24.04 here! :D @sannin-central
This is long. Spoiler alert. Mostly Orochimaru, some Tsunade, a little of Jiraiya (because his story is pretty clear and spoken and idk what I can add). Also I recommend to read this meta about Orochimaru, it has influenced me a lot and has some good points. Sorry for any posible grammar mistakes. Also I really should put here a lot of references to the manga or anime but it was something that was piling up for a year and I'm soooooooo lazy. After all, those are just headcanons. Also: Im not excusing Oro's bad stuff here, Im trying to understand the reasons.
Ive already posted some hcs, here, here and here.
Tumblr media
1. First if all, the chronology pic of sannin lifetime based on the info i found on naruto wiki and also some statements about wars from this post. It was tough considering what a mess naruto’s chronology is.
2. Sannin story shows what it cost to be a legend. They're like Team 7 but more realistic. Tsunade literally carried the war but left with nothing and developed a ptsd and have problems to just live on. Also anger control issues. I think she can be pretty bossy and stubborn which is not always nice. Jiraiya is the hero of the day but also very idealistic and can ignore some important details in the real word whether its the fight (he always injured during flashbacks maybe because each time he took too much to handle and on the one hand it's heroistic but on the other is a mistake that can lead your team to situations like in that Iwa cave) or your friends issues (I bet he saw what's going on but thought it's fine until Oro actually got red handed and left). He lives in his world and may have problems to get out to see it through someone else's shoes. As for Orochimaru, it seems like he was a normal guy for 20+ years (I mean, he didn't do crazy criminal shit and had something good in him and it was stated somewhere that it was his teammates influence. It is obvious they considered him as a friend, I don't thinks it was for nothing) but we mostly know his darkest side. Despite being a moster he is a human that have empathy and some ordinary human traits (man just decorates every bit of an environment he is in lol).
3. Tsunade was the leader of team Hiruzen.
4. Tsunade sometimes hit Jiraiya for some stupid things he did or said but never touches Orochimaru even if he did something same. Jiraiya complained about it once and almost got another hit.
5. Jiraiya had problematic parents that didn't care about him much and a lot of time he was wandering in the streets.
6. Judging by the look of Oro bangs and hair, he sometimes cut it off. A stress relief huh? And the fact that he doesn't do it now in Boruto..
7. It was shown that Tsunade and Orochimaru was acknowledged before they become a team. Maybe they did just before, or maybe some longer time before. I prefer the second option and hc that they met because both had no real friends - Orochimaru seemed weird and scary for everyone and Tsunade was Senju so everyone wanted to hang out with her but didn't really care. They weren't seen as what they were - people put the labels on them. But they didn't care about each other's labels and actually saw each other in true lights.
8. Tsunade knew it was an accident and it's not right but still she blamed Orochimaru for Nawaki's death for some time. It was something that seriously damaged their friendship and the team. Orochimaru was mad but also guilty, after all, he was responsible at least as a shinobi since Nawaki was under his watch. So he started to act cold and emotionless and was trying to distance himself from his teammates.
9. Jiraiya was in Ame while Dan died.
10. The whole his orphans mission was a bit irresponsible tbh. They already fought Hanzo and as he stated the conflict between Konoha and Ame is going to an end with Konoha's win. It's weird to stay here for three years in the middle of the war while there were other lands to fight. He left his teammates for some idea. Maybe that caused another crack in their team friendship.
11. If Tsunade would have find a way to live on with her trauma and follow the will of fire and stuff it would affect Orochimaru as well just as her grief affected him. It's like he would get an example that you can live on with this pain. So death isn't above human capability and we are not just the slaves of mortality (sounds stupid but i dont know how else to describe sorry). But as we know what he actually saw is that it broke her crucially to the point she couldnt be herself again. And so the death is above everything.
12. Oro wasn’t just acting as a cold pragmatic bitch in that cave but also tried to save Tsunade. Jiraiya knew it and that’s why he showed this sign to him like "I see what youre doing here" and that stunned Oro because he would prefer to look rather like a cold pragmatic bitch hehe
13. Just a thought. People in the village probably treated Oro as a foreigner or just wouldnt accept him because he looked so differently and had a weird attitude. That's why he sometimes didn't feel that Konoha is his home. After the wars where people were treated as means and tools, even the children, he himself developed this view on people - he dehumanized them and used as the means to his goals, just as his village did. Funny thing some people were straightly dehumanizing him too like Ibiki thought that he was a demon (tho he was a child). And he probably weren't the only one. Anyways the point is that it's logical that Orochimaru don't care about anybody but some few people, he's the product of his era. He's like Naruto that would chose the hatred way. But naruto had some good and understanding people around him and.. Orochimaru had them too, but match how Iruka treated Naruto and this Hiruzen's "I sAw tHe mAliCe in This cHiLd fRoM tHe BegGinNinG". And oro didn't even have a big ass evil fox in him. sry i hate hiruzen
ANYWAYS the moral of the story is not "go criminal if they hurt you" but always treat people like people. Waving my hand to Kant.
14. The reason why Orochimaru didn't pick some good morals to stick with through the hard times no matter what (like, idk, Jiraiya or Naruto) is because 1) I think he is/was pretty depending on people around him 2) the war fucked him and his friends up too much (Nawaki incident + Tsunade) 3) twisted addictions (though I don't think he's that sadistic, we never saw him torturing randoms just for fun, it was always some science experimental shit. He tends to get fun out of cruelty only when it's personal) that maybe developed as a way to sublimate anger and sadness caused by his parents loss (that's what they share with sasuke - unlicke naruto, they knew their parents and it's other kind of pain. Sasuke developed a revenge issue and Orochimaru - cruelty pleasure which... is kinda the same but less epic and more occasional lol).
15. Speaking of that, Orochimaru cared for Sasuke because he saw himself in him.
16. Oro hold grudges against Hiruzen for not choosing him to be Hokage not only because he was ambitious and/or egoistic, but also because Hiruzen was some kind of a father figure for him and his approval was important tho i doubt he was aware of that. He also probably could tell that Hiruzen was suspicios about him when he was a child and that led to many conflicts and was hurting as well.
17. Tsunade knew things weren't pretty with Orochimaru after the wars but she never expected them to be this bad. During the week that she was given in her arc she thought not only about how much she wants to see Nawaki and Dan again despite how wrong would it be but also was trying to bury all the good memories she had left of Orochimaru so it would be easier to kill him.
18. She poisoned Jiraiya exactly because she knew he would not let her do it. Jiraiya was always hesitant to kill and inclined to forgiveness, while Tsunade, as mentioned by Orochimaru, could be merciless (so much so that he was not surprised when Kabuto suggested that she wanted to use Jira for Edo Tensei).
19. That was one of her traits that scared Jiraiya and fascinated Orochimaru.
20. Remember how Oro grabbed Jiraiya's neck when the latter was trying to cover with hair jutsu? On the snake, in Tsnade's arc. Orochimaru could have easily kill Jiraiya by pulling the sword out of the mouth (arteries are right there) but he didn't. As well as he could kill Tsunade when she was still shaking - just aim for the neck or the heart. Instead, he just injured her lung and kicked her which is not a big deal for the kind of shinoby like her at all.. Also he helped Anko not accidentally kill herself but it would be way much profitable to let her do it. "Orochimaru has no feelings".
21. The reason he suddenly wanted to kill Tsunade instead of forcing her to heal his arms as it was planned (which is weird since it will not going to get him heals and he kinda said that he wouldn't want to kill her just minutes ago) is that not only she refused to help him (he thought he could work it out) but she also prefered the village over him (from his point of view). Out if everyone she was the closest to being able to understand him since the village caused her painful losses too but nevertheless she agreed to be on it's side.
22. He wasn't fighting her back in the end partly because he thought he deserved that. Somewhere deep inside hahah.
23. Tsunade got a fear to develop deep bonds so they probably weren't very close with Shizune (also the way she knocked her down in this hotel.. oh).
24. Orochimaru will be here when she'll die.
25. Orochimaru's eng dub to Tsunade: "I often wondered what it would be like to ring that pretty neck yours". No comments.
26. Orochimaru is either bi/pan or ace. Anything or nothing lmao
27. Hiruzen knew about at least some of the Oro’s illegal experiments and was okay just as he was okay with the Foundation all the time. Because it’s useful. Then he has discovered he went too far OR he knew everything and oro just became too inconvenient because of his methods. The way Orochimaru tells Sasuke about reasons they are well treated as the criminals is based on in his experience with Hiruzen.
28. As you may know the lyrics in Orochimaru’s music theme goes “don’t talk with the silence of the heart”. It was taken from one Indian song that also had lines like “don’t question life too much”, ”pain arose somewhere in the chest”, “don’t speak to the wounds of the heart”. Though I’m not sure 100% because I was translating it with some hindi dictionary with like zero knowledge of hindi
29. I like to think that this “silence of the heart” theme and the fact that he called his village a hidden sound village are somehow connected. The hidden sound is the possible explanation of all things waiting to be listened to but the truth is silent and you know it deep in your heart and it bothers you. The world is silent just like the life is meaningless but people can only hear. *Sigh* anyways
30. Orochimaru’s journey is the one about accepting death. When he saw Karin released her chains while was trying to get to Sasuke he understood that the death is a part of human’s strength.
Can’t wait to feel that everything I wrote is wrong or not enough or stupid and obvious lol. Anyways, it’s something that I wanted to share until I move to some other fandom.

'The Final Countdown' : new chapter of "Fighting Spirit of a Once Innocent Girl" is out !
Tumblr media
"The Final Countdown"
Chapter Summary : Samantha is ready for the final battle against the man who destroyed her life apart....and her friend she thought to have lost.....
To read it on AO3, click here !
Words : +4200
-------------------------------
It is it.....the Endgame ! After all we have done for the past few week, we finally found out exactly where Monty was hiding : away from the public, on the Solovetsky Islands in the north of the Soviet Union, his Omega ultimate and final base in the entire world. We all got the impression ad we all hoped too that it will be soon the end of everything for Monty, we are not going just to stop a simple terrorist who want to blow the Purplelight Arsenal and destroy Europe but we are trying to stop a elder god to take over the Universe....and the Multiverse !
We were the only persons who are able to stop him from achieving his goals and we couldn't do it alone with just me, Helen, Nikolai, Greta & Yirina. We needed help from Requiem and we all preferred to put our differences aside for just this final mission. We still have our grudge on them for everything they have done against us but their help could be crucial if we want to win that battle we are going to make against the Dark Aether.
Nikolai, I brought him in because I knew that he would be able to convince everyone about everything : he told them basically everything about Monty....about the Dark Aether....and about me. He told them the truth but there's parts he never mentioned to others like exactly who he was, claiming he was my 'protector' and nothing else and he didn't talk about the Multiverse because I could see in him that he was suspicious of Requiem in case they would like to know more about that if he told them about the Multiverse.
When he was finished about this, everyone had their minds blowed away from all of these and after that, a lot of calls were made from Hudson and Weaver respectively. They decided to bring the best firepower and the best mens for this crucial mission because now, everyone know that we can't afford at one little second to fail, it's the entire Multiverse that it's at stakes right now. After our little reunion with Greta & Yirina....and the death of Lazar, we didn't lose time at all and we were on our way to Solovetsky.
We took more than 2 days to approach Solovetsky by using an american aircraft carrier as Nikolai told us that it was impossible for him to transport everyone on the islant because Monty would have spotted us directly and we wouldn't have a simple chance to act. Our powers could still be used on the island but not before we're on it. More we were getting close to the island, more everyone were starting to get nervous about this but everyone kept their cool, trying to all think about a victory and never to a defeat.
During the travel in the helicopter that were bringing us to the rendez-vous point on the island, I was rethinking about everything that happened to me in just weeks : I was given back the powers I thought I have lost for a long time, I rekindled my relationship with Helen even if it was complicated at firs and I found back the only friends that are now standing with me at my side but everything wasn't really good at all : I realized that Requiem used me for an long time and lied to everyone, even Weaver were included in it.
But the worst......was to discover that Eddie.....was Perseus. The person I've been fighting for months is the friend I lost where I arrived in this new universe. He was controlled by Monty himself and I'm going to make sure that this will end soon. I'm going to save Eddie after all these years....and I'm going to kill Monty. I have made myself that promise and I will be sure to do it today.
"Approaching the LZ." The helicopter said loudly, breaking me from my thoughts and I looked outside, we were already arrived at destination. On the helicopter, there were me, Helen, Greta & Yirina awaiting that the helicopter landed until we were on the ground. We were the first to arrive at the scene, waiting now for the other team to go out.
"Finally." Greta exclaimed, getting out first from the helicopter "My legs weren't able to hold any longer." She stretched her legs outside as we are also getting out
"It was always a problem with you." Yirina got next to her, getting her hands on her shoulders as me & Helen stayed away, looking at them. "Now, how do you feel ?" Greta looked at Yirina with lovely eyes
"More happy.....with your hands on me." Greta in an surprise, got her arms around Yirina wraist, putting the two more closer than before.
"Always been flirting, Greta !" Yirina whispered before the two pull out to kiss each other....until they stopped to look at us, we weren't very discreet.
"What ?" Greta fainted an incomprehesion towards us
"Uhm...nothing." Helen replied, blushing from their sight as we decided to look away, focusing back to ourselves. "They're looking cute together." She added....well, not looking anymore but still focused on them apparently.
"Well, I never thought that of them first but yeah...." I started, giving a little look to them before getting my eyes back on Helen "You're right, they're cute."
"I think they're taking their time before the others arrive." Helen said, looking worried "So, this is it, right ?" She asked
"Yes, the endgame." I replied, surely
"We all sure that we can't afford to lose today." Helen told me, looking in the direction of the monastery
"Everything will end tonight for Monty and I really hope that we can save Eddie." I exclaimed, crossing my arms, leaning against the helicopter
"I was thinking : what will happen next ?" She raised an eyebrow at me.
"When everything will be done ?" She nodded "I don't know : sure to install ourselves in Nikolai's House with Greta & Yirina but after ? I don't know."
"Maybe we can finally have our night." She said in a lovely voice, causing me to smile.
"I'm sure we will." I laughed with her before we all start to hear some helicopters arriving on the scene, meaning that we had to put our thoughts on the side to focus back on the mission we are going to do.
Those who arrived were Adler, accompanied by his team and Requiem and by the looks on their faces, they weren't any moments and occasions to have a simple laugh at all and I could understand that. Everyone was so nervous and stressed but in them, I could see their determination and their bravery to come in here and to face a threat no one ever thought to face.
Once everyone were gathered up, Adler decided to repear everything from the plan....their plan : everyone will be tasked to deal with the AA Guns covering the monastery site to allow the bombers to release hell on the radars sector and to help them, they will use a EMP bomb to give everyone time to get the thing done as for us, we decided to take things in our own hands and it will be hard.
While everyone else will be fighting inside the monastery, me & the girls will strike the radar sector to deal with Monty himself as he was reported to be staying at this particular sector before the bombers took this place apart. It was just going to be the four of us against maybe an entire platoon of Omega soldiers that will stand between us and him but with our powers, we can make it worth it.
After that, we all got to our respectives trucks that was given to us thanks to Belikov and we were the first group to leave the scene as we needed to take another road from the others. Yirina was driving the truck as we were looking around us, all in our thoughts. Nikolai was communicating with us throught our minds as we didn't have any radios to talk with the others. It was just going to be us and Nikolai will help us throught the following battle.
"Everyone." We could start to hear Nikolai in our heads "Monty is staying at the radar site, he's awaiting for you to come."
"Anything to be worried about ?" I asked
"He has the Agarthan Device with him." He replied and I could hear him biting his lips "You will have to watch out when you will fight him."
"Do you know exactly what are we going to face in the base ?" Helen said, looking forwards to the road.
"Mainly the last Omega elite soldiers at first but since Monty is alone near the radar, be prepared for anything." We all looked in front of us as we were arriving near the radar sector of the monastery and Yirina stopped the truck on top of a hill, overlooking the monastery.
"Thanks....dad." Yirina whispered in a very low voice before she sniffed away. I was surprised to hear that because I didn't witness Nikolai telling her who he was. I crouched to get next to Yirina.
"You're okay, Yirina ?" I asked, seeing her getting kind of sad
"He told me everything." She said, in the same previous voice "He was the father I were never able to had and like that, he's back."
"I know, I couldn't believe it either too." I exclaimed to her with an smile, trying to give some recomfort before I could feel an hand on my shoulder, I looked up to see Helen, looking away.
"They are starting their attack !" She said and when I got up to verify her claims, I could see a lot of military trucks getting down an hill at full speed from afar, meaning the beginning of our last mission.
I let Yirina drive off at full speed too, letting us hold ourselves on the truck as she wasn't going easy with the speed. Then, a big white light exploded above the monastery....the Requiem EMP bomb. Everything electronics on the base were not going to work for an while and we will have approximatively more than 15 minutes to get the job done but me....I know that we will need more time to fight Monty. Anyway, fighting him could make him busy to not launch the Purplelight detonation order.
When the EMP bomb exploded, a loud noise could be heard, making some sort of ringing bells in our ears and then, the blast of the EMP was getting felt as it hit our truck. Yirina almost lost control of the truck because of that but she managed to kept her hands on the wheel and to stabilize the truck as we were going down the hill at full speed. At a least 300 meters from the radar sector entrance, I prepared my Ray Gin and at 100 meters, the first bullet arrived on our truck as we started to blast with our guns too.
With my Ray Gun, I was able to destroy one of the BTR keeping the entrance with 3 hits....that gun is very powerful.....before Yirina used the truck to literally force the big door open, allowing us to enter a yard composed of a lot of Omega materials.....and a lot of Omega soldiers, awaiting for us. Yirina got the truck stop in the middle of the fight, giving us some time to get into cover before she got out too and let a surprise on the truck. Once she did it while we cover her, we were surprised to see the truck drive by itself, directly towards an guard tower and then blow up, getting the tower down.
After the explosion that confused the enemy soldiers, we decided to split up : me & Helen were going directly to the radar control room inside the main building of the radar sector as Yirina & Greta will take care of the numerous enemy soldier, covering us each time we moved cover to cover. Our powers combined allowed them to neutralize easily a large part of the Omega soldiers, we even succeeded to lift a heavy tank off the ground to launch into another heavy tank and to the soldiers guarding it.
When the sounds of the fight were getting lowered, we parted away, focused on getting to the radar control room while they were keeping our backs in case. When we entered the building, we were surprised to see the electricity coming back.....Monty has really planned everything....a back-up generator hidden somewhere but we took the decision to continue instead of trying to find that generator.
After a minute and when we were starting to get close from the radar control room, clearing our way to it, we started to hear some gunshots inside of it and it was strange for us. We forced open the door to realize what was going on.....Ravenov ?......Ravenov was here !.......When we entered the room, he was fighting with two Omega soldiers and he took care of one of them with his gun before the other were smashed brutally on a table by him.
"Requiem !" He exclaimed, having seeing us for a second before looking at us for good. "Maxis ?"
"Ravenov !" I said, surprised "What are you doing here ?"
"Just doing my job : avoiding Omega to use Purplelight." He looked at the soldier he smashed on the table before throwing it on the ground "I thought that Requiem had locked you up."
"Exactly but I got freed." I rolled my eyes "It was better for them." I added as he was getting next to a control panel.
"Ravenov, where's Monty ?" Helen asked, staying next to the door in case
"That svoloch'.....been waiting at the radar's foots." He replied, getting focused on looking on the multiple screens in front of him "He's been watching the fight going inside the monastery before he will launch the detonation order but not with me, messing with the radars." He looked at us "Go face him, I will make sure the radar are not used."
"I think it's better that you got out of here safe, Requiem bombers will soon put this place down." I exclaimed as I tried to get next to him but he put his arm towards me, meaning to stay away from him
"I can't !" He almost yelled at me. "I'm sorry, Maxis but....I don't think I can make it."
"Why are you saying this ?" Helen said, worried
"He....he infected today with some Aetherium, like he did to everyone." He replied, his voice cracking "I've been trying to find a way to control it but nothing. I will soon become one of these monsters but I will not let this happen."
"You can't be serious ?" I told him before he remove one of his coat sleeve, making me see a part of his veins going black and sort of purple "No...." I whispered "We can save you."
"It's impossible, can't be undone." He put his coat sleeve back on as he was getting focused on making the radars go crazy. "Go, kill him. I'm doing this for you....for the Motherland.....it's is...the only way." I realized that nothing can save him, not even our powers and I had no choice but to leave him like that here.
"Good luck, Ravenov." I said, my voice cracking before I left the room with Helen
Damn it....not him. Ravenov was a good guy....a good russian and I wasn't able to save him from Monty....like I wasn't able to save Lazar. The worst of it is when I closed the door of the room and walked a few steps that me & Helen heard a shot inside the room. I closed my eyes, not to think about it but I was getting more angrier about everything right now. I'm losing friends, one by one and now, I'm fearing for Helen....for Greta....for Yirina.
Keep control, Samantha....keep control....I started to think as we were finding a way to get out of the building and to join the radar's foots, clearing our way from every of our enemies that was on it. And to say, I wasn't getting easy on them and Helen started to share the same anger as me like me, using our upgraded guns and our powers combined. That was at this moment we realized that the little device Nikolai gave to us worked indeed.
When we found our way out, I took a deep breath, knowing that we were going to face Monty himself after all these times in person. I opened the door, followed by Helen, walking slowly towards the radar's foots until we got him in sight....sitting and watching the carnage happening inside the monastery. When we were getting closer, he turned his head slowly towards us,
"Samantha." He said, sounding sort of happy "I knew you will come." He then got up before he removed his mask, allowing us to see his face
"Eddie." I whispered and he laughed
"His body, not his soul !" He exclaimed, spreading his arms to look around
"Give him back to me." I ordered him, he shook his idea.
"Aw, Samantha, you should stop been persistent." He rolled his eyes in the dark skies "You will not have him and if I had to give him back to you, he will be dead."
"Give him back..." I repeated, getting my anger growing inside of me
"Don't you understand ?" He started "I'm a freakin' god ! I'm the master of this world, to this whole fucking multiverse."
"You're just an idiot." I added in anger "You're just trying to do something that you can't longer control." I smiled nervously to his face "They stopped you for a while....I will finish the job !"
"Them ? You ? You will do nothing, Samantha." He replied "You can't do a thing : you can't protect your friends, you have lost everything to stand for." I then see Helen clenching her fists in anger, she had heard enough.
"You took.....everything from her !" She exclaimed, her eyes going fully purple
"I don't even know who you are !" He said, looking at her before I got my eyes purple too, angry and then, I started to levitate off the ground,
"You will !" I said and then, the final showdown was about to begin.
When I levitate off the ground with Helen at my side, we were able to grab heavy objects around us, levitating too before we throw them to Monty who started to run at us but these objects were doing nothing to him at all, not even stopping him to run towards us. At this moment, I got back on the ground to face him, taking the Path of Sorrows in my hands as Helen tried to do the same by firying bullets at him with no effects before Monty was able to put his hands on her and threw her away against a radar foot and hopefully, her powers were stronger, allowing her to have nothing from it.
I started to give him some cuts with the katana but I then realized that these cuts were like healing instantly. I tried to give him multiple cuts at the same time while avoiding his powerfuls punchs but each time, his wounds were like healing in a second. I tried to grab the Agarthan Device that was hooked to his belt but unfortunately, I took my guard down for a second, allowing him to throw me as well far away on the ground, losing the Path of Sorrows in the process.
With my powers, I started to make the katan fly to get back in my hands but when I was about to catch it....Monty got it first, grabbing it in his own hands before trying to attack me with it. I put my hands on the blade to stop him but he was gaining the advantage and I could only scream in pain as the blade were hurting my hands even if I had gloves until the end of the blade start to hit my shoulder but before he was able to do that, the Katana somehow started to tremble in his hands before it hit him in the face and fly away.....to land perfectly in Helen's hands standing up.
When I saw that, I was amazed because I thought that I was the only one to use the Path of Sorrows and when I see running against Monty with it in hands, I realized that she was able to use it too and her strikes and swings were damn perfect. However, no time to think about that as I got up rapidly to help her to fight out him but even with us two, Monty were able to stay strong until I succeeded to get my hands on the Agarthan Device and once I've got it in hands, Helen give Monty a big cut on the legs and surprisely, it wasn't healing anymore.
Then, I realized that this Device....was the source of his powers. If we destroyed it, we can kill him.....but we are going to kill Eddie too. Before I could do a thing, Monty gained the advantage and threw me and Helen, having his hand back on the Device before he start to levitate by himself and....the radars were getting moved by themselves.....he was the one doing it, nullifying Ravenov's work to stop the radars, he was creating an big purple orb above him with the Device....ready to launch Purplelight.
It was going to be the end of it and our fight was getting useless.....until the orb was destroyed by something from afar behind us and him, we looked out to realized that Greta and Yirina was there and was the one to have destroyed it. However, it did something to Monty as he got back on the ground, holding his head with his hands, in pain.
"Let me free !" That.....Eddie ? It was Eddie's voice talking, not Monty's one
"No !" It was Monty's voice. Shit, the two were fighting for Eddie's body keys, both were trying to take control. "You're my key to my future !" He added, shouting.
"You controlled me for years !" Eddie exclaimed "You corrupted me, you did make me fight Samantha."
"She's weak and you're strong !" Monty yelled "Let me fight, let me win."
"Not anymore." Eddie fell on his knees on the ground holding the Agarthan Device in hands, putting it on the ground before looking at me. "I'm sorry, Samantha, this....is the only way !"
"NOOOOO !" I screamed, trying to move to get to him at the same time as Monty before with his hands, Eddie crushed down the Device, causing an white light to blind everyone around it.
When I opened my eyes after been blinded by that light, I was laying down on the ground and the silence was taking over the place, no more sounds of fightings, no more gunshots.....a death silence....getting heard everywhere. When I looked up, Helen, Yirina and Greta were also grounded and slowly recovering and then, we saw.....Monty.....Monty standing up.....the Monty who killed my father.....the Monty in his true form, looking lost as he was having his eyes on the monastery before sitting on the ground.
"You won." He said in fear as I was slowly getting up "You did it, for the sake of this stupid world." He looked at me, not trying a thing anymore "However, the Dark Aether....is still living....and it will always be there."
"We will make sure that this threat will be no more." I exclaimed to him, mixed between calm and anger "How does it feels to....lost something ?"
"I don't know." He replied "How about you ?" He tried to smile with his hideous mouth before parts of his body started to disappear in dust. "Goodbye."
"Go to hell !" I said before he was finally gone out of my sight and then, I started to hear some groans behind me...Eddie....in pain, part of his face burned along with a part of his body, leaned against a broken radar's foot on the ground "Eddie !"
"Sama-Samanth-Samantha." He tried to speak with difficulty "You....you didn't changed a lot."
"It's gonna be okay, Eddie." I smiled, trying to recomfort him
"No, I don't think I can." He replied with a low voice
"Eddie, please, not after what I have done to found you." I pleaded, getting my hands on the part of his face that wasn't burned "I can heal you."
"No." He then looked behind me "Isn't that right, Nik....Nikolai ?" I then looked behind me and was surprised to see Nikolai standing up, with Helen, Yirina and Greta at his side, looking sad
"I'm sorry, Samantha." Nikolai breathed "We can't help him and what he did is irreversible."
"What I did....was only to secure a better tomorrow." Eddie said in a low voice, his hands getting on my shoulders "I'm proud of you."
"Eddie...." I whispered
"Only....for a better tomorrow." He smiled before looking away from me and then.....he was no more.
His lact act was to smile, feeling free as me, I could only cry in pain.....I couldn't save him. I was crying and I don't know if I can move on with it. I dedicated my life to found him again and that's what I did but I would never be able to catch the lost time with him. I could feel Helen's hands on me and she was crying too, like if she has lost someone too. We all lost someone...and losing Eddie was....so hard for me. Then, we could start to hear upcoming noises in the skies : Requiem bombers coming to bomb the radars. Nikolai moved to open a portal and once he was done, he looked at us as I grabbed Eddie's body in my arms,
"Let's go home !"

In Port Charles, New York, there was never a large amount of time without someone having a near death experience, death, or traumatic event.
Michael and Willow had been pretty fortunate, ever since they got married the only bad thing that had happened was Wiley being kidnapped and they had all recovered from that, mainly. Granted, they still checked on him twice a night, but it didn't matter. Everyone was healing and the pair were trying desperately to tell each other what they felt without actually saying the words.
So it seemed it was time for them to deal with a traumatic event, according to whatever controls what happens with people in this town.
Whatever controls these people's lives decides to make them get caught up in a gunfight, where Willow was about to get shot. She had been kidnapped hours before and was being used as a pawn in a scam Cyrus had concocted against Sonny. He knew Sonny cared about Michael's family, but that he couldn't get Michael himself or he'd be killed.
When Jason and Sonny fired their guns at Cyrus and his guys, they'd fired back at a tied up, scared Willow. Michael jumped in front of them, his own gun firing as he was shot in the chest. The bullet just grazed Willow, and though she was in intense pain, the worst she'd ever felt, her first concern was Michael. He needed medical attention immediately, or else he'd die.
That brings us to the present, where Willow got shot in the shoulder and Michael's still in surgery to try and save his life. When they'd had her sign something earlier for it, a medical form she didn't know quite the details of, it had really set in. Michael could be dead because he was trying to save her life. Willow's bullet had been a through and through wound; they were able to get her all taken care of quickly. She's bandaged and traumatized, but fine. Michael, on the other hand, could be bleeding out on an operating table for all she knows. He got shot in the chest and the doctors think it's in an artery.
There are no words to describe how she felt, finding out that her husband had a large chance of death. Cyrus, stupid Cyrus and his mob games he had to play with Sonny. Stupid, stupid Sonny. If he wasn't in the damn mob, Willow never would've been kidnapped and Michael never would've been shot. He wouldn't be fighting for his life on an operating table right now, trying not to die. This was Sonny's fault as much as it was Cyrus's.
Sonny enters her room cautiously. "Willow, I'm so sorry you got caught up in all this. You never should have been involved in this situation in the first place and I have no clue why you were even on Cyrus's radar in the first place."
"I think that you should know damn well why I was shot, Sonny! The same reason Michael was, because you're in some territory fight with him. You're lucky Carly didn't get shot or another innocent bystander in your fight with him. Your mob war is fine, but I don't want anything to do with it. I married Michael, and I knew that it meant I was marrying into a mob family with you being his dad and all, but I didn't expect this! Your son is fighting for his life on an operating table right now because of you! I got shot because of you! My son could be in danger or on the radar of a known mobster right now because of you and your actions!" Willow angrily shouts at him.
The mobster is confused before he responds, "Don't you think I know that, Willow? Don't you think I feel terrible about my son having to fight for his life because of me again? I'm not a monster, despite you apparently seeing me as one. This life- it's not what I ever thought my life would be. In some ways, it's so much better, but in others, it's terrible. I don't know how you got to be involved in this, or if Wiley's on their radar, but my guys will take care of it."
"Take care of it meaning you're going to put us on house arrest like you did your entire family because you can't control the mob wars you start? Or maybe we'll have a guard following us everywhere we go like Joss. I'm sure I could get some pointers from her about how to live your life with a guard following you," she fires back, heart racing and angry.
"My family means everything to me. I-I would never do something that I thought could put my family in danger. I'm having one of my guys check right now and see if Wiley's on their radar. They're gone, the bad guys. No one is hurting any of you because you're all good people. Michael's the former head of ELQ and lives at the Quartermaine mansion, so I don't know if he was on their radar because of his last name, but I also don't know why you're the one they took. If they wanted to kidnap someone, Michael probably would've been easier to than you were," Sonny ponders, clearly apologetic about his actions.
Thinking for a moment, Willow breathes deeply, wincing slightly. "I'm sorry I blew up, but I'm anxious right now. I mean, my husband is on the operating table. Not exactly a great thing for me, or Wiley. I also got shot, which isn't exactly a fun experience. Add in the kidnapping, I'm pretty sure that there's such a high amount of adrenaline in my system right now I could be having a panic attack."
Jason enters the room with Sam and Dante. "How you holding up?"
"Shot, kidnapped, angry, scared, traumatized. I'm wondering, why did they pick to come after me? Sure, Cyrus and all them know I'm married to Michael, that's not old news, but if they wanted to get mad at Sonny, why not take one of his kids?" Willow asks, trying to distract herself from the fact that her husband could be bleeding out right now and that she's in a hospital bed with a gun wound.
"Well, Michael and I are adults. We've dealt with this stuff before, it'd be harder to just kidnap us. Avery is at Ava's, and they don't want to mess with Julian or Nikolas. Donna's got so much security around her, it'd be near impossible to, and Kristina would make an absolutely terrible hostage. Joss has a guard following her, and would also be a bad hostage. All of us wouldn't be good targets to kidnap, and so there could be the argument he could have taken one of Jason's kids, but they're all innocent in everything and Jason would go ballistic. It just wouldn't make sense. You, however, are new to this life, married to a Corinthos, have a child with one, and don't really seem like you've been kidnapped before," Dante explains.
"So I was the easiest target for them to take, pretty much?" Willow asks and they nod.
Sam speaks up now, "It makes sense that if they wanted Michael, they'd take you. Wiley's a bad target, considering that there's so much energy put into making sure he's okay at all times. You're his wife and he loves you, so they want to lure him in, they take you. Tell him exactly where to find you, exactly what to do to get you back. Only thing is, they didn't count on Sonny and Jason being there too. So they saw them and got scared. Shot at you since you were still tied up and Michael, being Michael, saved you. They wanted to hurt Sonny and the best way to do that is by hurting his family. You were the easiest target and collateral damage."
Willow sighs, angry and hurt. "So in an effort to hurt Sonny and Jason, they wanted to hurt Michael. They knew that they couldn't take him, so they take me instead and make him come get me and try to kill us both?"
"These people run off of trying to find a soft spot. This one matched for both of them. Carly was probably their second choice, except she's an absolutely terrible hostage and they know it would've been too obvious. If they could kill you and Michael, Sonny lets down his guard because he's grieving and probably raising Wiley. I'm grieving, everyone involved in the business is grieving. They can take over Port Charles. It's unfair and cruel, but true," Jason summarizes to her.
Portia comes into the room then, looking somber. "Is he okay? What-what's happening with Michael?" Willow asks immediately, frantic for news on her husband.
"Willow, the bullet that hit Michael was in one of his arteries. We were able to remove the bullet, but we don't know if he'll survive. The surgery was intense, and the damage he took to his heart was as well. His body, like yours, has faced a huge trauma, but since his was to his heart, we're not comfortable yet with anything," the doctor tells her and the brunette bursts into tears. It's like her heart is slowly cracking and they're dragging out what's happening.
"Portia, just tell it to us straight: What are the odds?" Jason asks, face emotionless.
"Michael has a 50% chance of survival," Portia admits. "The next 24 to 48 hours are going to be crucial to getting more exact odds. Right now, he's not allowed any visitors, but we will be changing that in a few hours. I'm so sorry I don't have better news."
Those are the words it takes for everyone to be crying. Jason, in a rare showing of emotion, looks like he's going to break down. Sam's face says it all: She's heartbroken. Michael's practically a son to the both of them, especially Jason. But Sonny, his face is the truly heartbreaking one. He breaks down right then and there, sitting on the floor of the room and crying. Dante looks shocked, like he's not processing this. "What the hell?" He asks. "Dad, what the hell is it with you and killing my brothers? First Morgan, now Michael?"
"Dante, your brother is still alive. He is in critical condition, but alive. The odds of survival will likely increase after I go to check on him in a few hours," Portia calmly explains as Carly runs into the room, crying.
Carly runs to the space in between Jason and Sonny and asks, "What's wrong with my baby? Why won't they let me see him? Is he alive?"
"Yes, Michael is alive. He was shot in the chest and it got in an artery. The surgical team was able to save him, though he is in critical condition with what I'm predicting is a 50% chance of survival. He will be allowed visitors in a few hours," Portia spiels, everyone understanding it more now and the room more tearful than before. "Carly, if you want, Joss and Dev are more than welcome to stay with Trina and I for the next few days, since I know you and Sonny will be here, and I presume Jax will be as well."
"Thank you, Portia. That would be great if it's not too much trouble," Carly thanks her, tears still streaming down her face.
"Of course," Portia smiles before leaving the room. "Jason, that offer extends to Danny and Scout too."
"That's nice, but they're gonna be staying with Elizabeth and her boys. Thank you for offering," he says solemnly, tears building up in his eyes.
The room has an aura of sadness as everyone processes the information they've been given. Michael has a 50% chance of dying, and a 50% chance of surviving. All because of Sonny's stupid fight with Cyrus. Despite what she may have said, Willow is still beyond upset with Sonny, as is Dante.
"Sonny, you caused this. Not Cyrus, you. By starting that stupid fight with him, you put all of our lives on the line. Now, Michael's fighting for his life in a hospital bed and Willow's been shot too! The only reason we're in this situation is you and your stupid mob war. You're lucky I'm not PCPD anymore, or I'd arrest you for all of your illegal activities and put you behind bars because none of us deserve to have this be our lives!" Dante shouts at his father, angry and needing someone to blame but truthful.
"I know that, Dante! I know that I'm the reason my son could die. I'm the reason Morgan did too, I know. I'm so sorry, Willow, that you got caught up in this because they wanted Michael," Sonny tearfully tells his oldest son.
Willow takes a deep breath, calming her sobs. "I am angry at you, but I know that it's Cyrus's fault I got kidnapped and that Michael and I got shot. Why I was kidnapped, I still don't fully understand, but I can see how badly you feel about this. So I accept your apology, but I can't forgive you for this yet."
Dante breathes, trying to calm himself, as he says, "They took you because Michael loves you and they wanted him to get to Sonny. It's stupid and rude, but the truth."
Love? That four letter word hadn't been said by either of them yet; they were getting annulled for God's sakes!
That would probably be getting put off indefinitely while Willow and him were recovering from their gun shot wounds. It would be easier on everyone because Monica would be there if something bad happened to either of them and Wiley wouldn't have to move around or anything.
Noticing her silence, Sam asks, "You didn't know that?"
"Is it that obvious?" Willow asks, noting that the pain of the wound is starting to go down.
"Yeah," Dante laughs. "It's really obvious. Stupidly obvious, to be honest. You two, I presume, have been in love with each other for at least a few months by now. It's just that neither one of you wants to say it because you're scared you'll ruin your friendship somehow or whatever."
There's a quiet laughter in the room for a few moments before the air turns somber again and tears come back full force. It's evident that all of them are in pain, emotionally and, for Willow, physically.
Several hours later, Willow's entire hospital room is full of people. Maxie, Spinelli, Anna, Finn, Monica, Bobbie, Brook Lynn, Ned, Jax, Joss, Dev, Cam, Elizabeth, Franco, Nina, Lulu, Lucy, even Sasha and Chase are there. A lot of people know Michael, and a lot of them care a lot about him. It warms Willow's heart to see that, to know that the man she loves has so many people who love him and care about him.
Portia comes in the crowded room with Trina, who envelopes Joss in a hug. "Michael can have guests now," Portia tells them, "but only one at a time. He may still be a bit woozy from the anesthesia, if he's even awake. He will likely be confused somewhat and drifting in and out of sleep. Don't talk about anything serious with him, or he'll get more confused."
As she leaves the room, Joss says, "I think Willow should go first. If there's anyone Michael would want to see first, I think it would be her."
Everyone nods their agreement and Elizabeth goes to get Willow a wheelchair. Sitting in the chair is fine, standing and walking isn't. She already hates how much this is slowing her down, considering that she's always been so quick to go and do things. This is pretty much just a shitty situation.
Elizabeth comes back, wheelchair in tow, and Willow moves to get in it, wincing in pain but ignoring that. She's got a husband to see. "You know," she jokes, "Michael and I never had a honeymoon. I guess this is the closest we'll get before our annulment."
"If I hear one more word about that annulment," Carly threatens and Monica agrees.
"I'm not letting you two make this decision, no annulment!" Dante smiles and everyone laughs for a minute except Chase and Sasha, but it's obvious that they mean it.
"Our fans grow," Willow chuckles as Elizabeth wheels her into Michael's room, which isn't far from her own.
"For what it's worth, and not that my opinion has anything to do with your marriage to Michael because it doesn't, you two do make a very good couple in a way I don't think we've seen around here in a while. Again, not my spot, but still, I think you two have some talking to do before you agree to end your marriage," Elizabeth tells her. "Count me as a fan."
Chuckling, the pair go into Michael's room, where the energy is instantly changed to more of a sad, somber energy. After all, he is in a hospital bed, hooked up to a lot of tubes and machines. Willow was lucky, her IV could go with her. Michael's setup is much more complicated.
Willow's wheeled up to his bed before Elizabeth leaves, telling her to just text someone when she needs to get wheeled away again. It's evident Elizabeth can't stand to be in the room much longer.
When she leaves, tears start streaming down Willow's face. This is more difficult than she thought it would be, though she was trying to joke her way through it. Her heart aches seeing him like this, the man she married fighting for his life in a hospital bed. It's heartbreaking, knowing that she's got a chance of him not making it, that he'll die on her. She knows he'll fight like hell to stop it, but at the end of the day, you can't always get what you want.
It's this thought that makes her want to say what she's been feeling, confess like she's in some movie or something. The words have been on her mind for weeks, but she couldn't bring herself to say them because there was a chance he didn't feel the same.
Opening her mouth to speak, Willow notes that only a sob comes out. It's not a pretty sound by any means, if anything it's an ugly one, but it's okay because Michael's still alive. "This, what I feel for you, it's hard to put into words but I'm going to give it my best shot. I fell for you because you're you. That makes no sense, I know, but that's why I fell for you. I fell for you because you're so unapologetically yourself, even when it's causing an issue. I fell for you because I want the whole thing, the stupid little fights and the joking, the love that's always there. I fell for you because when I look into your eyes, I stop thinking. I fell for you because that look you give me, that keeps me up at night trying to figure out what it means. When we kissed, I can still feel it when I go to sleep at night. You, without my knowledge, walked into my heart and just decided to get comfy. Falling in love with you was beyond my control, but I'm okay with it. This- falling for you has been the scariest thing in my life because I'm giving you the power to destroy me. You're destroying me, not knowing if you'll make it or not. It breaks my heart, knowing you could die because of me. I couldn't deal with it if you die. So hang on long enough for us to watch movies while eating a pizza we just bought in a Walmart. Hang on long enough to have stupid pillow fights with me in bed at three am because Wiley's starting school tomorrow and we can't fall asleep. Do it for me, do it for him. Do that for us. I love you, Michael, and I don't see that ending so please, just wake up."
By the end of her beautiful proclamation, Willow's full on crying. Tears are streaming down her cheeks and her heart is broken. Even though he's not dead, Willow just spilled her heart to him. It could be the last thing she ever says to him when he's alive, that she loves him. That thought terrifies her, that he could die and never fully know if he knows she loves him.
"I don't know what it is, but somehow, you can always make me smile even when I'm feeling the worst I've ever felt in my life. Without me even thinking, I can see a future with you. A future full of a couple more kids and happiness. Don't get me wrong, I know romance isn't always happily ever after. But still, I know loving someone the way I love you is so uncommon, especially so quickly. I love you, and I'm going to tell you that because it's true. You deserve to know the truth, and simply put, that's the truth. Those three words that terrified me have been so common in my brain thinking of you. And telling you, it makes me feel relieved. Because you deserve to know these things. At the end of the day, you deserve to know I love you," Willow tearfully tells him. "So you can't die on me, okay? I love you and we haven't even started our story yet, so you've got to survive so we can have our happy ending."
No response from Michael, nothing. His vitals are the same and he looks the exact same too, still great but wounded. He looks frail, lying in that hospital bed.
Maybe her words can't save him. Maybe he's already gone, already left her. It's sad to think about and makes her breakdown, sobs coming from her mouth with tears so plentiful she can't even see anything. She takes his hand, holding it in hers. This, this is the moment in all those movies where he would squeeze her hand, wake up.
Life isn't a move though, she realizes, as she continues speaking. "I get it if you're already gone and your heart's still beating, but selfishly, I want you to wake up. I want you to wake up and we can stop the annulment, fall even more in love. Selfishly, I want a huge love story where we're together for so long that people ask if we're still together and wonder how we are because we've been together so long."
"And so you have to be okay, you have to wake up from this, you have to. I get it if you don't know entirely, or if you don't fully want to, but Wiley and I need you to. Everyone here, and everyone in the waiting room, everyone crowded in my room needs you to wake up. I love you," Willow tearfully reminds him.
She pulls out her phone and texts Elizabeth she's okay to leave the room, that someone else can come in, and within a minute, Carly's in there, staring at her son, equally as heartbroken, if not more, as Willow is. Carly's been through this before; Michael was in a coma for a year and a half at one point. That doesn't mean it's less heartbreaking or easier; if anything, the opposite is true.
"I'm so sorry this is happening to you," Willow says to Carly. "I can't even imagine what you're going through."
"Thank you. I know exactly what you're going through, Willow. Sonny and Jason have been through this enough, I know just how bad it hurts and how worried you are. But Michael's strong, he'll survive this. I have faith he will survive long enough for you both to have a happy family and me to have more grandbabies. Don't even try to say that I'm wrong, because he loves you as well," Carly smiles sadly at her, tears still streaming down her face.
Willow can't help the smile on her face when she hears that. "It's good to know someone's sure of that, because I'm sure as hell not."
Carly laughs, incredulous. "How do you not see it, Willow? He's told me, flat out, that he loves you. It's so obvious that you two love each other that the fact you're both denying it or not thinking about your love for each other is getting annoying."
"I don't know. I guess I just didn't think he loved me back, but I'm going to wait for Elizabeth."
Elizabeth walks in and wheels a teary eyed Willow back to her room. "I take it that he's not up yet?"
"Nope, he's still not up. I spilled my guts to him and he's still asleep or whatever he's doing," Willow explains to her, showing off her lack of medical knowledge.
"Well, I'm sure he'll be up in a few hours, Willow. This is Michael we're talking about, he'll pull through. He always does."
When she says that, the pair have reached the room, which is still crowded with people. Willow gets herself back in bed, despite the pain that causes. After all, it's not like she's going to die getting in bed.
More time passes, and everyone goes into Michael's room until everyone's visited and he's still unconscious. It's heartbreaking, knowing that the longer he takes to wake up, the lower his chances of survival are. Medical odds are terrible sometimes.
Jason goes back into Michael's room, noting that his phone was left there on accident. Willow nods her head, pretending she heard what he said.
When he comes back, there's a huge smile on his face very unlike what you have happen when you find your phone. "Michael's awake," he says.
Tears of sadness are replaced with tears of joy as the room gets a much happier energy. "Can I go see him?" Willow asks, already getting out of bed and into the wheelchair that has been left at her bedside.
"He's asking for you," Jason says, hugging Sam tight to him.
Willow smiles widely as Dante pushes her down the hall. "Please let this make you two say how you feel about each other," he smirks.
"I already have, but I don't know if he heard it," Willow smiles at him.
"Well, sister in law and cousin in law in a completely unconvoluted way, I think he did and know he feels the same so if you two aren't together by the end of this, I will be very upset," Dante jests as they reach Michael's room.
He steers her up to his bedside, as close as she can get, and then leaves the room.
"Willow," Michael says, voice quiet. It's probably because he's just speaking again after major heart surgery.
"I'm right here," Willow smiles, grabbing his hand gently.
She watches as a smile comes across his face and he looks at her with the look he always gives her. "Good. I don't want you leaving me alone in here. This room is kinda creepy and very boring, but you make it happier. You make everything happier. I heard what you said earlier. Well, parts of it. It was beautiful and if I wasn't coming out of an anesthetic because I got shot, I'd probably be able to say something much more beautiful than I'm about to, but I love you. So please stay married to me."
"I would love nothing more than to stay married to you, Michael," Willow tells her husband truthfully. "You scared me for a while there, I was so worried that you'd die on me before we could have our love story."
"Hey, I'm not that bad. I would never die on you and Wiley. But our love story has already begun, because it's been brewing since we met. Now, it's just turning romantic officially," he smiles at his wife. "If you think of it, us getting shot was kind of a great thing because now we're telling each other what we otherwise wouldn't be."
"Thank you for showing up when you did," she thanks him, "and for saving me. I would've died had it not been for your bravery."
"I wasn't being brave, I was so pissed I wanted to kill those bastards but I needed to keep you safe. So I took a bullet to the chest, but it's worth it," Michael explains. "If you died, I would have never forgiven myself. So thank you for being a good hostage to them so that no one actively wanted to kill you until I got there with my dad and Jason."
They both let out a chuckle, though Michael winces in pain a few times. "That wheelchair can't be comfortable for your back, do you want to come up here? There's plenty of room."
"I don't know if Portia would allow that," Willow smirks at him, "but I doubt she'd object too harshly."
Several minutes later, Willow's in the hospital bed next to Michael and they're both fast asleep.

Ben and Kylo Ren are one in the same. Just the same way Anakin and Vader were. They are two halves of a person. It is no wonder they could never find their balance in life when they kept ignoring who they were and the things involved in it. Gosh, I wish Star Wars had Space Therapy. Maybe then Ben wouldn't have been a mass-murdering F*ckhead.
Exactly. Kylo and Vader are the darkest parts of themselves. But it’s still them. Them being two halves is clearly spelled out (and shown visually with their masks) and should be easy to understand.
Kylo is the most broken, angry and violent part of Ben. He tried to completely give himself over the dark side and destroy the rest of himself which is why he was so conflicted. Accepting him means accepting not just the dark or the light, but EVERY part of who he is. Choosing to be Ben again and not be controlled by his dark impulses anymore was a huge step. But he can’t escape from the things he did as Kylo. It’s a part of who he is and always will be. And he should not be excused from his past actions, but he should have been given the chance to live and LEARN from them.
And Vader, even though he’d given himself to the dark side, he still could not escape the man he was as Anakin. He had done so many horrific things, yet Luke never stopped believing that there was still good in him. He encouraged him to let go of his hatred and embrace all parts of himself.
Sadly, both of them were never able to completely find that balance within themselves. If only they had access to therapy! Or even just someone who knew how to help them. But both of them never had anyone who knew the depths of their trauma and had the tools to help.
In one of the Rise of Kylo Ren comics it says that Kylo is a name Ben came up with when he was a child. He made up a new identity to help him cope. Like, he hated himself so much and felt unwanted and wished more than anything to become someone else. If only he’d had someone to help him work through things and help him accept himself. And his parents sending him away when he was ten years old. He was at a very vulnerable and crucial age when he was separated from his parents. For a kid who was already dealing with so much, no wonder he struggled.
Anakin was clearly dealing with trauma after being separated from his mother, and then going straight into training to become a Jedi with their strict rules. He was in a very fragile state when Palpatine swooped in and took advantage of him. They both never had the support they needed.
With Anakin, because it was already known that he became Vader, it was expected something tragic must have happened to push him down that path.
But with Ben, it didn’t have to end in tragedy. It would have been so powerful to see him get the help he needed. To see him heal from his past wounds and accept himself fully as he is. To see a thirty year old man turn things around and not be defined by his past. To show it’s NEVER too late. No matter how old you are. No matter how big or little your issues are. It doesn’t matter. It’s never too late to ask for help.
Rey could have helped him heal. They could have helped each other.
But unfortunately we didn’t get to see that.

Atsushi and Akutagawa has always been ride or die for Dazai.
Dazai's kids are more rampaging than Odasaku's orphans. They just don't go well together. In fact, they would be willing to kill each other when lazily pushed. But these two no matter how much hatred they have, they could create a blast when they work together, so yes Dazai being a fan of "teamwork makes the dream work". But it was not that these two were made for each other to be a younger version of Double Black. In fact, their representation to their senior is much more than just a Shin Soukouku. They both reminded Dazai of his past and present and possibly future.
Back in his Port Mafia days, it's always been fight or die so Akutagawa had to be strong or stronger in order to live because that's Port Mafia. Imagine having the power to control the underground, you have to be strict and merciless and more authorative. Akutagawa's health is crucial that's why Dazai had to break his bones before anyone could kill him for good. This rather cruel treatment Akutagawa received from his mentor crafted a somewhat goal to him as his motive to fulfill the standards Dazai had set. It became his ultimate goal that later gone wrong and bloomed a feeling of anger and hatred. This became more intense when Dazai had gone MIA, abandoned his mission, and left Port Mafia. It's as if Akutagawa had lost all strands of hopes he was willing to build to get that approval and of course who wouldn't get hurt like that. He's ghosted.
But did he really not care about his eldest son?
I think Dazai purposely left that kind of impression to Akutagawa so he would hate him and continue to get stronger and one day prove to him how he gotten strong; and that he would match his soon-to-be partner in crime, Atsushi my baby. That's why whilst fighting his own demons, Dazai managed to escape before anyone could notice that he's sinking... and he wanted Akutagawa to apply all he has taught him since day 1 and one day, be able to finally realize what it meant to be "strong".
On the other hand, Dazai had to tame the beast and recruit him to become a member of Armed Detective Agency. While Akutagawa is in the dark side, Atsushi with his naive, innocent and pure posture needs to be on the lighter side since opposite attracts. Dazai knows Akutagawa will do everything to surpass his goals so he thought he should be fine in the Port Mafia- secretly hiding his intention of preparing the two as mini double black version for the bloody battle against Fyodor the rat Dostoyevsky. As a detective, Dazai's treatment to Atsushi is soft compared to Akutagawa who sufferred in a lot of killings. By murdering people, Akutagawa had somehow found a reason to live not for himself but also for his sister, Gin. Unlike Akutagawa, Atsushi was more vulnerable, more tender that if he's been told to kill himself, he would arguably, eventually rather do over a period of unfortunate time. So Dazai had to carefully mold him and build barriers to Atsushi's fragile vessel sans giving him the idea of being "privileged".
That does mean different treatment means biased?
I don't think that's the case.
Dazai Osamu and The Dark Era, Chapter 3
Tumblr media
In the Dark Era, when Odasaku asked Dazai about his subordinate Akutagawa I was convinced that Dazai already  "approved" Akutagawa's strength because if not, then there's no need for him to passively invite him in Port  Mafia. There's no need to waste time of hard training without special treatment. And the question still lingered at the tip of my tongue waiting to recall of what we known as an excuse or "reason". I think Dazai saw Akutagawa in him. No emotion at all. Just a powerful stray dog running around the alley slums, doing everything to survive. He's filled with anger and revenge and that's what keeps driving him to hold on. Even if it's cruel, even if it's painful. Back to history, Dazai Osamu appreciated Ryunosuke Akutagawa and he looked up to him so bad that it affected him when the latter committed suicide. This drove the aspiring author to follow the footsteps of his idol. In BSD, their roles are reversed. It was Akutagawa who was longing for Dazai's appreciation and Akutagawa seems not a fan of his mentor's suicidal habits.
The rather odd truth I found by their relationship was simply assuming. The retrospect taught me to look again in another point of view. Akutagawa is Dazai's past self, emotions, feelings, even boredom. He reminds him of what was the smell of bloodlust and violence again before he realized it was too late. It seems he "hates" Akutagawa because he still could not forgive himself for what happened though no one was saying it's easy. But after the exasperating fight with The Guild, he pulled off his mentor status and finally after a long period of time, he delivered the words by himself in person, "You've gotten strong", a few words enough for Akutagawa to realized Atsushi was right all along and his view of the world was twisted and wrong. Dazai knows it was the only resolution to pave a way for Akutagawa's character development and it needs to be him as his superior.
I think the miscommunication between these two were  notably shown. It was like:
For Dazai: Action speaks louder than words; but
For Akutagawa: The pen is mightier than the sword.
Tumblr media
Akutagawa's jealousy or should I say, envy as we follow the chapters and the episode was enormous that it blinded him from the very path he wanted to take. The paces became blurry and muddy it was like he stepped directly on a quicksand and he forgot what he should do at times of chaos that killing is not always the right solution. This is why Dazai could not reach him in the first season's ending song. He does not know when enough is enough and because they were both a shadow of darkness in the past, there was only one boat eligible for one person and Dazai chose to save no one nor himself. This could also explain at least for me, when Dazai touched Atsushi's head, Akutagawa cried in blood. The blood represents his anger saturated with confusion and betrayal. Why did it have to be Atsushi and not him. But this could also explain that the both of them were submerging and they needed someone whose heart is strong no ability could ever tear, someone whose soul is pure and innocent. Someone who understands both good and evil but proceeded with kindness. He did not choose between them. He simply sought salvation and by faith, he met Atsushi.
Tumblr media
Changing the focus to Atsushi, who's been tortured in his childhood, tormented, and broken, he was way unfortunate than the both of them. For the sake of his mental health, Dazai had to guide him into the light even though it means staying with him in the present. He even let himself captured by the Port Mafia to obtain information regarding the 7 billion bounty put on Atsushi's head. If someone asks me, I think he's already melting the brick facade he built for himself and Atsushi was the only one who notices that he's trying to get better. Atsushi is the living proof of Odasaku's last words, to be on the side that saves the poor because his life will at least get better, that is... if you're trying to live. Why did he obey Odasaku aside from the fact that he was his only true friend? Wasn't it because he felt guilty or he's just sentimental? No. It's because... he actually wanted to taste how living actually is. And he did. Now, things are going to change. For him, for Akutagawa and also for Atsushi.
And for Dazai, he caught himself tangled by Atsushi's healing abilities. He reminds Dazai of the beauty of the world without violence. Atsushi's view might find argumentative but at least it's philisophical. Atsushi always find the right words whenever Dazai talks to him. A simple nod, and "yes" brought a slight suprise to him. It's Atsushi's nature that even knowing the good and evil, Atsushi wish to perceive good and kindness. And to this extent, the rotten past Dazai was trying to conceal felt a permission to be forgiven. It took only one touch in the forehead for him to approve of Atsushi and as he tried to get along with him, he is also learning and developing. Atsushi might open doors for Dazai and also for Akutagawa to completely move forward.
After the war shin sokoukou had gone through, Dazai showed us that these two when guide together, is like a perfect harmony that without realizing, compliment each others' strength and value thus also discrediting his contribution, for us to realize that one does not need any appreciation or recognition to realize your own worth.
You are worthy and it's something you should NEVER ask validation from nor apologize for.

About the recent THAAD farce. A guy said that the THAAD doubles as SAM and threatens military flight inside neighbor nations, if any gets in its range. AFAIK THAAD is a purpose-built ABM system that uses kinetic kill warhead so it wouldn't cause any harm more than to what it's suppose to intercept. Guy said that the warhead "can and will be able to kill large aircraft". Don't SAMs use explosive warheads to increase kill probability? Kinetic kill ones imo wouldn't do as SAMs. What do you think?
For starters, it’s a fucking retarded argument against THAAD, because if China wants to screech to hell and gone about what America might do if they just decide to kick off WWIII for shits and giggles, then what the fuck is China doing parking HQ-9 long-range SAMs all over the South China Sea?  Those can reach 100+ miles out into what is very much international waters, by the universal decree of the rest of the fucking world. If China refuses to recognize the international community’s definitions of borders and boundaries, the hell should anyone else be obligated to recognize theirs? International law is a gentleman’s agreement at heart, which means people who decline to hold up their end can expect others to drop theirs in return.
As for the technical ability of THAAD to engage aircraft, suggesting it’s in any way comparable to a conventional long-range SAM system is pants-on-head retarded. Ballistic Missile Defense tends to come in two varieties - purpose-built systems, and Surface To Air Missiles with delusions of grandeur. The latter systems tend to still require purpose-built missiles, like the Patriot’s PAC-3 ERINT with its kinetic-kill warhead, to be truly effective. These missiles are less effective against traditional aircraft (or even cruise missile) targets because they’re extensively optimized to engage a very different kind of target with a very different flight profile. As you point out, the kinetic hit-to-kill warhead is far less optimal than the conventional continuous-rod or blast-frag warhead against an aircraft, but it doesn’t end there. The terminal guidance seekers (and software), the missile’s fuel load, engine design and aerodynamics and most crucially is maneuvering abilities are all optimized for engaging, at high altitude, a very high-speed, low velocity-deviation target.
And this, mind you, is for a missile that’s still mostly based on a conventional SAM system. They suffer degraded performance against aircraft compared to a normal missile (The PAC-3 ERINT only reaches 40nm or so to the PAC-2/GEM’s 55+, reaches the target slower, and is less likely to hit.) But THAAD is a whole new ballgame - it belongs to the other class of BMD systems, the “purpose-built, single mission” one. These are built from the ground-up for the job, with no other considerations in mind, which is what makes them effective.
When you optimize a missile for a job, you optimize it for that fucking job. For instance, consider Ye Olden SA-2 Guideline. Click the link, take a gander in full-res to appreciate it.
Tumblr media
It’s fucking huge. It’s a flying fucking telephone pole. Now check out this picture of the SA-17 Grizzly, the latest development in the BUK missile family:
Tumblr media
Clearly those missiles are a damn sight shorter and more compact. Now, tell me - which one has more range?
Shockingly, the SA-2f seen above has about the same effective range - 30nm - as the SA-17. Obviously the SA-17 is a lot newer, what new part made the difference? It wasn’t the motor - rocket science has indeed advanced quite a bit, but for the most part we’re not making solid rocket fuels that massively superior to what we had in the 60s. It’s not aerodynamics - our modelling has become a lot better and more refined, but it’s given us an edge, not a giant leap forward like that (the predecessor SA-6 Gainful missiles only reached 15nm, or half that flying telephone pole’s range.) What made the biggest difference was avionics. We’re able to cram more smarts in the missile (and more on the ground, that the missile can talk to faster and more accurately) and that lets it fly better.
Most modern anti-air missiles tend to use a “lofted” flight trajectory, where they climb to a very high altitude - 60-80,000 feet - because that’s the optimal altitude for “cruise” flight. Then, when they’re approaching the target, they dive on it, which gives them tons more energy to work with (especially after rocket-motor burnout) and lets them fall on the target at high speed, reducing the targets available time for evasive maneuvers. It’s all about energy-efficient flying, in other words. One evasive technique I learned playing Lock-On (which involves 90s era jet fighters) was to fly gentle side-to-side weaving patterns after detecting a distant missile launch. The missile would constantly adjust to aim ahead of my trajectory, but since my plane has a lot more delta-v, the missile would exhaust its energy quickly and fail to even reach me. That’s the kind of shit that no longer works; air-to-air missiles almost all coast through the midphase, guided by course-correction updates radioed by the host aircraft, and turn on their seekers only for the terminal engagement. The host aircraft’s computers (and software) are powerful and smart enough to average out target motion and vector the missile to a “kill-box,” where it’s close enough to handle things on its own.
All of this shit, all of it, comes into play when you try to use an ABM missile against an aircraft. They’re designed for an entirely different job, so expecting them to perform well (if at all) when fired with a completely different flight profile, against a target with completely different behaviors, is asinine. For instance, just consider this picture of the THAAD missile:
Tumblr media
As you can see, THAADs interceptor is controlled purely through vectored thrust systems, which is very sub-optimal for lower atmospheric intercepts. It’s perfect for the very high altitudes THAAD is designed to engage at (”Terminal High Altitude Air Defense,”) where the air’s so thin that conventional control surfaces don’t help much, but in the atmosphere where aircraft actually fly, it’s a lot less energy-efficient. For that matter, you can bet your ass the rocket nozze/fuel/engine is designed to maximize ISP (engine efficiency) at those same altitudes, further reducing the system’s effective range against aircraft targets.
And then there’s the fact that the software most likely doesn’t even support engaging aircraft. “Ah bloo bloo you can just reprogram it” no you can’t, fuckswizzle, it costs millions of dollars to develop this shit. Mathematicians sit down and work out fuckin algorithms. This shit is quite literally rocket science. And you’d need new software, because of shit like this:
Tumblr media
That’s an Energy Management Steering maneuver - the missile literally flies this tight little corkscrew in the air to burn off “excess propellant,” i.e. the software does this to optimize the exact weight of the weapon based on the flight profile of the target its engaging; probably to maximize thrust-weight-ratio in the latter stages of the engagement or something similar. This is some pretty crazy shit. You can’t just point this system at a plane and say “okay go kill that, now.”
So, no, that “guy” is stupid as hell, and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Especially when he said “big military aircraft.” A small hit-to-kill impactor is very likely to not kill a big aircraft. One B-52 attacking Hanoi came home with an SA-2 missile lodged in its goddamn wing, and another took two hits from SA-2s and came home safely. Willow Run Airport, near me, has a B-52 on display that survived a hit from an SA-2 over North Vietnam and was deemed not worth the cost of repair, so it was donated to the museum. If the 440 pound blast-frag warhead of an SA-2 could not always guarantee a kill against a B-52, suggesting that a purely kinetic kill vehicle would be a greater threat to a more modern large military aircraft is patently insane.
