inukags always said it was just the anime making inukag onesided lol (despite that manga scene they always reblog where she says let me stay by your side and inuyasha's face is like whatever bitch lol). now the yahashime manga has kagome begging him for attention i wonder what they think of it. i mean they got canon marriage and a kid but they're still prob annoyed bc they want inukag to be full on romantic and its not happening- inu sounds so ooc when hes romantic with kagome, unlike kikyo
I really don't care what the inukags think and say, let's not treat them like oracles or people who know more and the most. They are the same fans of the series as we are and nothing more, with the difference that the fandom is bigger because they support the main couple and toxic like kagome.
They always sustain themselves with this one panel. She literally sticks to it. she chose Inuyasha instead of her daughter and made her childhood hell by entrusting the care of her daughter to Kouga (if I remember correctly), Kouga who pretended to change so that Kagome would like him in a romantic way, but a naive like her thinks that he was good to her so ' he's not a bad person, and Kouga is actually a fucking evil Yukai who didn't hurt higurashi just because he liked her. Let's be honest, no one changes just as you say it. It's a long process, and as shown below, it's still a motherf//ker.
Again, was higurashi pregnant at the end of the series? NO. Yashahime is not canon! Please stop spreading false rumors. Even the author of the manga, Yashahime, said on Twitter in Japanese and English that it was a "what if". It's not canon.
It was created to extract money from loyal fans of the series instead of making the reboot that is needed. But Sunirse better not touch Inuyasha anymore - the only thing they can do is destroy this series. so I wanted to correct this matter.
It's nice to see the author of this non-canon abomination himself show that inuyasha doesn't exactly give romance to kagome and has to ask for it. and the author himself said that he is a fan of inu//kago. It's funny that he would do something like that to his beloved couple. It's nice to see how it shows in this sick series that this relationship isn't completely perfect and that Inuyasha has a problem and doesn't fully love her. Inuyasha is ooc because it's written by a different author, so he will always be ooc. Which means he's trying to stick to the canon, because Inuyasha also showed at the end that he loves Kikyou more than Kagome.
I don't care what they think about this thread. If they are demolished, so what? This relationship was always what Kagome wanted more and she wanted it and obsessively wanted it and it really showed. This relationship will never be perfect, never the way they want it to be. Inuyasha will never love her like Kikyou and the baby won't change that. No way.

I was asked recently why I disliked yashahime. It made me list many many reasons. Most important being the ruining of Inuyashas perfect ending.
To clarify, I don't have strong opinions on SessRin. Mainly because it was not portrayed as romantic in Inuyasha, and ended with rin being raised by Kaede. I do have a problem with how it was portrayed though.
If Rin was going to be romantically involved with Seshomaru, any kids they had should have been significantly younger than kagome and inuyashas kids.
Flashbacks of their relationship changing should have also been present. You can't just have a man become involved with someone he took care of as a child without massive change.
Rin should have plenty of development of said change. She should be expanded upon in a way that she feels like the same character grown up. This is a young girl who was consistently compared to Kagome, who no doubt was cared for by Kagome, and your going to tell me she's just a helpless damsel that had to be sealed in a tree? Sorry no.
Even with that, I still am not fond of SessRin. I think it's a weird ship tbh.
Also Kagome and Imuyasha allowing themselves to be trapped for over a decade was stupid. Sango and Miroku would have saved them if they didn't manage to escape by themselves.
The idea that Koga would raise the inukag kid is stupid. Sango and Miroku would raise the inukag kid. Period.
The sacred jewel prophecy thing was stupid
In no way would Seshomaru ever not just kill someone he deemed a threat.
Point being, sequels that try to exist by ruining characters from the existing show bug me.

Kagome could barely contain her enthusiasm.
Precisely five years ago, she and Inuyasha shared the kiss that marked the beginning of everything.
And five years from now, Kagome was sure she’d still remember how magical it felt. The lights. The band. Slow dancing to Thing For You. How his lips touched hers and a crowd of thousands disappeared.
Which is why she knew from the moment Hinder announced a concert in their town on the exact same date of their anniversary, that she had to take Inuyasha as a gift. Even the most cynical of men couldn’t ignore a sign when the stars aligned and Kagome was no cynical nor man.
She had made the purchase the very night the tickets were available, not wanting to ever risk them getting sold out before she secured theirs, but steep prices aside, this was the easy part.
Keeping it from Inuyasha had been the real challenge.
It was a true miracle that Kagome made it. She had lived in constant fear that he would see right through her or that she wouldn’t be able to hold her tongue for much longer. The temptation to tell him was almost irresistible. Almost.
Retrieving the little cards from their hidden place — the far end of the spice cabinet Inuyasha avoided like the plague — Kagome walked with her hands behind her back to the living room, where her boyfriend sat casually on the couch.
“Alright, it’s gift exchanging time.”
Inuyasha put his phone down, a devastating grin slowly gracing his features.
“And what makes you think I have a gift to give you?”
“Because you do.”
He rolled his eyes and Kagome chuckled.
“Smartass,” Inuyasha muttered, “I’m guessing from the way you’re nearly jumping from one foot to the other that you wanna go first.”
She nodded and brought her hand upfront to finally reveal its content.
“Hinder is playing tonight and I bought you a ticket,” Kagome blurted out “actually, I bought us two tickets,” she clarified, her fingers sliding so the second ticket could be seen.
“Kagome—”
“Yes, I know we had a budget limit. I just thought that the opportunity was too perfect to ignore. I mean, when will a Hinder concert ever happen here, on this, of all days? It’s gotta be kismet, right?”
“Kagome—”
“Plus, don’t you think we deserve to have some fun? Even if it’s a bit expensive? How long has it been since we’ve done something for the hell of it? Let’s go have an adventure and… why aren’t you excited?” She questioned, noticing that he looked less thrilled the more she rambled.
Inuyasha sighed and got up, making his way to the notebook case laying on the table. Kagome watched, puzzled, as he unfastened the zipper, fished something out of it, then returned to her side.
“Happy anniversary," he said, offering her an identical pair of tickets.
Dumbfounded, Kagome stared at them. At Inuyasha. And back at them.
“You gotta be kidding me.”
“Nope.”
The couple started laughing. Uncontrollably.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Inuyasha and Kagome asked, in unison. “I wanted it to be a surprise.” They replied simultaneously.
Kagome giggled.
“Are we becoming the same person?”
Tickets still in hand, she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Fine by me.” Inuyasha pulled her close, his hands finding her waist with expertise.
“What do we do now?”
“We can try and sell two of these, get our money back,” he suggested, “or we can invite Miroku and Sango to come along.”
“It’s only fair, considering they were there the last time.”
“Hey, as long as we get to ditch them again.”
“Are you planning to take me on a romantic getaway?”
“You bet your sweet ass I am.”

A/N.: @inukag-week wrote this for the "anniversary" prompt. It's not much and I'm super late, but here it is.
Also, I really love Thing For You by Hinder so if this sounds awfully self indugent... it's because it is.

Unfortunately I have a genuine question about Towa from HnY.
Why would she be calling Rin "mother"? Setsuna too to be honest.
I've read your posts once before on adopted kids/ppl but I can't remember how you'd feel about this.
Towa had parents, an adoptive mom and dad. Is it "wrong" of her to call the 13 year old she's never known "mother" just because she found out somehow (I don't know how, I don't watch this shit) that Rin birthed her?
And Setsuna... Setsuna was raised in caves? Was a drifter??? Idfk. Every post I see on her character she's acting differently than the last. But it still seems ooc for her to be interested in Rin at all, let alone calling her "mother". She didn't give a shit about Towa for the longest, I assume she similarly didn't care about P*domaru. Why the sudden interest in middle school mommy?
I WROTE OUT THIS ENTIRE POST AND THEN FUCKING TUMBLR JUST DECIDED TO DELETE IT THIS TOOK DAYS AND I’M PRETTY SURE THE ORIGINAL POST WAS MUCH MORE CONCISE I’M SORRY
And I unfortunately have a genuine answer, LOL!
My overall opinion on this is that I don’t ever feel it’s necessary to police any adopted child’s relationship with their birth parents. There are way too many different situations that would lead to a child being adopted, and way too many varied experiences to narrow them all down. My own experience with adoption is going to be different from others. If Setsuna and Towa want to refer to Rin as mom, I think that’s great for them.
Before we get into it; I like the Sota-Towa dynamic. I definitely don’t think it’s perfect, but they passed the (very low) bar. They did fine. The only reason I didn’t talk about it in my original video was because I wanted to wait to see what they did with them in season 2.
I’m about to go on a roll here, because I’ve been thinking about this ever since they brought Inukag back, and it was clear that they were just going to brush over and ignore Moroha’s feelings towards her biological parents and simplify it into “they’re my bio parents, so they’re better”. I could yell about the Inukagmor dynamic too, but for now, let’s stick to Towa, Setsuna and Sessrin (SESSRINTOSET?).
The issue with how they approach the SessRin-Towa-Setsuna dynamic is that they’re asking me to be emotionally invested in their relationship without ever doing the work to get me there. This is compounded by the fact that Towa and Setsuna had two very different childhoods and if they were well written, would likely have two very different reactions to meeting their birth parents. They come at this from two opposing angles, and it needed to be dealt with in two different ways. Ironically, they address this in the show that they’re very different, but not when it actually matters.
(WEIRD, DONTCHA THINK? IT’S ALMOST LIKE THIS SHOW LIKES TO PRETEND TO BE DEEP BUT IT’S AS DEEP AS A PUDDLE WHICH HAS ALREADY DRIED UP!)
Tumblr media
First off, Towa.
So, like you said. Towa had someone to take care of her. She had people who stepped into the spot that Sesshomaru and Rin and Setsuna weren’t there to fill. She suffered a terrible loss, but she still had somebody. But, and this is a big but; she is in a space where she is not comfortable. The first episode she’s in talks at length about how uncomfortable she is in the modern world. She doesn’t have any friends, and doesn’t care about school. Her family loves her, but they don’t understand her and on some level want her to hide herself.
Tumblr media
While I did criticize how well things go for Towa in the feudal era, my critique wasn’t that she was suddenly comfortable, it was that she never struggled and things just kinda work out for her and she always has to be the most powerful one while also being stupid (GIVING THE PEARL TO RIKU WAS VERY STUPID). Her comfort in the feudal era opens up a very interesting problem; which is that suddenly, she’s choosing between her comfort and a family she loves.
Towa isn’t just picking between two houses or even two cities, she’s picking between two different timelines (if they go with making it easy for them to time travel, they didn’t understand the point of Kagome’s sacrifice in the first place i said what i said).
In one, she has a family who she loves and who has loved her for a decade, and in the other, she’s finally comfortable and has found people who understand her and she can fully be herself without much issue. She doesn’t have to hide herself at all in the feudal era. She can totally be herself around Moroha and Setsuna, which she can’t really do that around the Higurashis. Moroha and Setsuna get annoyed with her, sure, but it’s never about who she is as a person, it’s more about how she’s occasionally just really naive and they've never had that luxury to be that.  Don’t get me wrong, I have a ton of critiques for Towa’s character and how the three girls operate, but overall, I think that what the show is trying to express is that they finally feel at home with each other (Towa liking being in the feudal era, Moroha expressing never really having friends before, Setsuna not leaving when I don’t think it would be hard for her to do, etc).
Tumblr media
So it makes sense for me that she would latch onto any semblance of a parental figure she could find as a way to replace what she would lose if she stayed in the feudal era, which is Sesshomaru and Rin, and would be excited at the prospect of having parents who finally understand her and let her be herself. But she would also feel guilty, because there’s a sense of betraying her adopted family. The modern era has a family that she loves, but she’s not comfortable. The feudal era has a group of friends that she adores, the potential of a family who understands her, and she finally feels at home in her life. That tips the scales. But this would probably lead onto guilt for her, because it feels like she’s abandoning Sota and his wife, whatever her name is. This is why I loved the Sota goodbye scene, because Towa did feel guilty for wanting to go back, but Sota wanted her to be happy first and foremost and he was willing to let her go without any issue.
Tumblr media
Setsuna, on the other hand, has had the exact opposite experience; she’s never really had to hide herself, she lives freely out in the open (at least as much as she can as a half demon), but she’s lacked the unconditional love and support that Towa got from the Higurashis. She has had relationships with Shiori and Kaede and maybe even Kohaku, but it’s never really implied they’re all that close or that she depends on them all that much. She’s a very independent person. Towa’s unconditional affection and support are completely foreign to her. On top of that, she doesn’t know what she lost because she doesn’t really know what it’s like to have it in the first place. Having Towa and Moroha in her corner is a strange adjustment.
Tumblr media
(god i could’ve loved this little girl gang, i want to love them looking at gifs like this when you can see all their personalities in one image; Moroha goes HIGH FIVE, Towa’s like YEAH, and Setsuna’s going I’M GONNA PRETEND I DON’T LIKE IT)
I have talked about how Setsuna latching onto Rin right away isn’t that bizarre to me. What’s weird is that she doesn’t show any tendency to care that much about her biological family before that happens.  She doesn’t care to know Sesshomaru or be impressed by him all that much. She’s very dismissive of Towa until near the end of season 1. Which shows you really have to prove yourself to be worthy of affection in some form from Setsuna’s end. She warms up to Moroha much faster than she does Towa because Moroha understands the world they live in and she doesn’t have to babysit Moroha the way she does Towa (also, Moroha and Setsuna is a seriously underused dynamic in this show, I’ll say it!).
Tumblr media
This goes to show that for Setsuna, knowing her biological family isn’t much of a priority for her. Which is totally fine, some people don’t care. In the first season, Towa and Sesshomaru are just two people who she happens to share DNA with. What makes Rin so different?
Tumblr media
Convenience. That’s what makes Rin so different. The “Dany kinda forgot about the Iron Fleet” kinda convenience (JUSTICE FOR DANY). It was inconvenient for Setsuna to care about her biological family in the first season, so she didn’t, but now it’s convenient for her, so she’s going to care. It’s that simple. But it’s established in the first season that she needs to have time to warm up to any family figure that she’s suddenly going to have in her life, and her characterization in season one should’ve told us that Rin shouldn’t have been much different. Maybe Rin wouldn’t have had to prove herself as much because of Towa already laying the ground work and like a lot of us she potentially connects having a mother to comfort, but there would likely be a period where Setsuna didn’t want anything to do with her.
Tumblr media
So you’ve got two girls who are probably going to have very different reactions and reasons to want to be around their biological parents. Towa would probably attach on too fast while feeling like she’s betraying her adopted parents but be excited at the fact that her mom and dad finally GET her, Setsuna would take her time because she’s never had that experience of having an adult care before and would chafe at the confines of having parents. All three girls would probably have a much easier time connecting with and bonding with each other than they would their parents, let’s be real.
Tumblr media
This brings us to Sesshomaru and Rin and what role they would have to play individually for their children. Because fixing this family should’ve been at the root of this season if they really wanted to go the “Sessrin with sesshomaru is more of a egotistical jackass than usual on the side” meal plan.
Now Rin, she’s nothing right now. She’s just kinda... there. I have talked about about how they could’ve fixed so many of the problems with SessRin without changing a single thing from season one if they wanted to, but they didn’t want to fix it so they didn’t. When Rin is let out of the tree, I wish they had shown her and Sesshomaru being actual partners. But I want to push it farther than that.
Tumblr media
Right from the beginning, Rin is not a priority for Towa and Setsuna. The show is primarily about their relationship with each other, and the hierarchy after that goes: Moroha, Sesshomaru. Rin isn’t even on the list. They don’t talk about her at all for the entire first season unless prompted to by someone else, and it’s never with each other (Towa has one conversation with Kaede about Rin, and she doesn’t mention this to Setsuna). When they find out they have a father, they don’t ask “who is our mother?” She is never part of the conversation (not that Sesshomaru is ever really a part of the conversation for them either, but at least they’re aware that he exists).
But what if she was part of that dynamic from the beginning? What if she was there in the forest with them and they thought they had lost her? What if Towa not only felt guilt for losing Setsuna, but losing Rin as well? What if their problems came from not only their different worldviews but the loss of their mother?
Tumblr media
Imagine if at the end of season one, when Zero dies and Sesshomaru brings her back to life, rather than the fake out of Setsuna dying, they instead have it that Rin comes out of the tree. This means that Sesshomaru would actually have to get Towa’s and Setsuna’s help to deal with Zero ASAP, forcing them to work together. After fixing it near the end of episode 2 of season 2, Rin is reunited with her daughters. After seeing how Sesshomaru has not only hurt her children, but also her brother in law, her sister in law, and their daughter, hasn’t even told Kaede where she is, she doesn’t even want to look at him, much less be his loving, supportive wife (more on that in a second).
The first half of season 2 is mostly just random filler arcs that really go nowhere. Setsuna, Towa, and Moroha aren’t even together for a good chunk of them; they’re in entirely different filler storylines. That time would’ve been better spent bringing Rin into the picture. An entire arc where they work together to bring Inukag back (who should’ve disappeared at the beginning of the story not 14 years earlier and should’ve been captured by Kirinmaru not trapped by Sesshomaru LIKE COME ON). They could’ve connected and built up a relationship. Like just imagine a bunch of episodes where demon hunter Rin and the girls travel together. That could’ve been so fun! In the show, Setsuna goes through her first human night (and not with Towa, with Hisui, of all people, like, come on) and as I was watching it I couldn’t help but be like “OK, what if Rin and Towa were here, and Rin stayed up with them in solidarity.” That would’ve been a great bonding experience for them, and richen her relationship with her daughters.
Plus, when Inukag meet Setsuna and Towa, Setsuna apologizes for what her father had done. But if that had been Rin doing that instead, it would’ve given Rin much more depth and given insight into how she feels about all of this. Now it’s just “Sesshomaru knows best, better listen to him”. Like there are so many moments in season 2 where I was like “OK, what if Rin was present for this conversation”.
Tumblr media
Rin has to be two very different things for her individual daughters. For Setsuna, she has to prove herself as someone who can be depended on and let Setsuna work through her abandonment issues. For Towa, she has to give her space to be completely herself and be what Sota/the Higurashis couldn’t be for her. It would also be a chance to let Rin grieve her loss; raising her children. She missed everything. Their first steps, their first words, the chance to show them how to hunt or fight or do anything. She didn’t get to sing them lullabies or tell them stories or help them with their problems. I can’t imagine the pain a mother would go through in that situation. In all honesty, I really do believe that Rin would be such a good mom. She’d be the kind of mom who’d get down with her kids in the dirt and go on adventures with them. Like she’d be such a fun, imaginative mother.
Tumblr media
And the worst part is that while she couldn’t be there for them, she had zero control over it, Sesshomaru also wasn’t there for them. Like not even in a “Sesshomaru is an important lord” way. He literally did not know his daughters. At all. When they heard his name for the first time, they had no idea who he was. While I guess you could argue that sending your kids away to be trained was normal for noble families, EVEN THE MOST CONSERVATIVE NOBLE FAMILIES STILL KNEW EACH OTHER AND WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE! SESSHOMARU DIDN’T VISIT SETSUNA ONCE IN A DECADE!
I’ve been pretty forthcoming over the fact that I don’t like Sesshomaru. I used to say I was neutral towards him, but going to watch Yashahime has reminded me of how much I disliked him in the original. And it comes down to this:
Sesshomaru is not a guy who has really been held accountable for what he has done in the past up until now, not really, and if he ever were to have a partner, it would have to be someone who was willing to tell him when he fucked up. While Sesshomaru is definitely out of character in this series, I don’t actually find all of his actions entirely unbelievable. Like his insistence of doing things by himself and doing what he feels he has to do to protect his loved ones, even at the cost of others. And his egomania. And his terrible communication skills. My god, his terrible communication skills. I could absolutely see Sesshomaru struggling to be in a romantic partnership because of this.
Tumblr media
Rin should be angry at him. I am angry for her. I wanted her to throw something at him. And it wasn’t just her who was impacted, it was her daughters. It was Inuyasha and Kagome, who lost their daughter. It was her niece, who had to struggle without her parents to love her unconditionally. It was Kaede and Kohaku, who had no idea of what happened to her. Taking the time to establish that grief and anger away from Sesshomaru, to work on the relationship she had with her daughters outside of Sesshomaru, to struggle through the guilt she feels over all of this happening because she was stupid enough to get cursed, would’ve worked a lot better than just throwing them all together at the end and expecting it to just work because biOloGy.
Tumblr media
There’s a moment in season 2 of Yashahime where Sesshomaru looks like he’s going to die. Rin’s reaction would’ve been a lot more gut wrenching if they had established how angry she was with him. If they had given me even the smallest glimpse into a healthy relationship as a married couple before all of this happened and given me a reason to care about getting those crazy kids back together. If they had shown me what was was lost when Zero put the curse on Rin and what it was that made them fall in love in the first place. Then maybe I would’ve cared.
Now, Rin has to get her daughters to help her protect him, and that brings them together. Then Sesshomaru is forced to C O M M U N I C A T E with his wife about Kirinmaru. The last part of the season is about Sesshomaru learning about his daughters while taking down Kirinmaru. Them working together. Rather than the random scene we got at the end with him suddenly good with them. The closest thing we get like that in canon is when Sesshomaru distracts Kirinmaru while Moroha, Setsuna, and Towa go inside the pearl. And maybe I’ll make people mad when I say this:
I really want to see Sesshomaru as a father. And not the way he is now, but as going out of his way to attempt to be a dad. His relationship with Rin could be analysed as a father - daughter relationship (if you want) but in the original text it was so vague that it could be construed in a variety of ways. I’ve always seen it as more older brother - younger sister/unwilling guardian - unwanted charge relationship, less about him being a directly parental figure and more about him just letting her hang out. I don’t believe that he doesn’t have power over her, because regardless, he is still an adult and she is a child, but I don’t see him as her father. Even so, there is a certain distance between him and Rin.
For Rin, he never had to work at their relationship. She just listened to him without question for the most part. No temper tantrums. No arguing. Nothing of the sort that suggests “parenting”. With Towa and Setsuna, that distance would have to be significantly smaller. To be a father figure to them, he would actually have to work at it. It won’t work like it did with Rin with a child that he decided to be a father to. He would need to reach out to them, because why would they trust him after all of this? You’re asking them to invest in a man who has never done the same for them (which is a common tactic used to dismiss children whose parents have abandoned them when they say they want nothing to do with them; “they’re your father, you should be the bigger person and reach out”).
Like imagine Sesshomaru actually teaching Setsuna and Towa how to control their powers (at the end of season one they were saying Setsuna had an energy whip and I just wanted ONE SCENE of Sesshomaru telling her she’s using it wrong and she’s like “fuck you, you abandoned me in a forest fire” and Towa going “I’d normally be the peacemaker but she’s right” and Rin just files her nails in the corner). Having him actually have try and establish a relationship with his daughters is what I’m looking for. Being a source of comfort for them and trying to understand them.
This makes Towa’s decision to stay much harder for her because she suddenly has a place where she can be totally herself and Setsuna starts to learn how to depend on having adults who actually give a crap.
ANYWAY THE POINT IS: it doesn’t make sense. Don’t even try. It’s pointless. Could’ve been a really interesting look into adoption and knitting back together a broken family, instead it’s an oversimplified “they’re my biological family so they’re better”. All of the emotional baggage is put onto Rion and Kirinmaru, which is an extremely basic “I love you but I can’t support you” storyline, rather than where it belongs, which is on Towa, Setsuna, Rin, and Sesshomaru. My conclusion is this: it’s not “wrong” for Towa and Setsuna to call Sesshomaru and Rin mother and father. It’s just badly developed.
Like they haven’t even had the “what do I call you” conversation yet, which is probably the closest thing to a universal experience that adopted children have where you have to ask your biological parents or the people who have just decided to let you into their family “hey, what do i call you”.
I normally wouldn’t make a pages long analysis on “this is what they should’ve done” but this series is so boring and not deep in the least that it’s very hard to not come up with “what if” scenarios because of I was dumb enough to make that first video and HERE I AM. I’M WELL AWARE THAT I’M PUTTING WAY MORE THOUGHT INTO THIS THAN SUNRISE EVER EVEN HAD THE CHANCE TO.
(I am trapped. Send help.)

Jokes on InuKiks and Sessrinners, even if Moroha was somehow the daughter of InuKik that wouldn’t stop Kagome from raising her and loving her like her own, because lbr, we all know Kikyo would be a cold, selfish mother and it would be up to Kagome to step up to the plate. The kid might be the child of her “love rival” but Kagome’s not so petty to hate an innocent child who did nothing wrong just based on that, on the contrary she would probably love the kid right away because they’re also the child of Inuyasha, the man she loves.
InuKiks and Sessrins still keep trying to invalidate Kagome and InuKag with these kinds of “gotchas,” but it always keep backfiring on them because as an InuKagger I can just laugh and say “So? So what if Moroha was an InuKik daughter? That still wouldn’t stop Kagome from loving her and considering her own if she were all she had left.” Betcha though if the shoe was on the other foot Kikyo would be absolutely hateful and spiteful to an InuKag kid if she were still around, because contrary to popular belief in this fandom, Kagome’s the one who’s always played nice while Kikyo was the actual petty bitch.
Hi, anon!! If it weren't for Sunrise wanting to stir the pot with this "love triangle", I'd actually head canon that Kikyo would watch over Moroha and her family; kind of like a spiritual guardian. At that point, Kagome and Kikyo would have put aside their differences before the latter passes away. Kikyo knows Inuyasha and Kagome have been through so much together and she'd wanna watch over their baby from above.
But what Sunrise decided to do instead was still try to cast Kagome in Kikyo's shadow, making her sound inferior when the former has surpassed those powers. Even having Moroha say "reincarnation of a legendary priestess" say that in a VoiceOver? Yikes.
But then again, they depicted Kagome as a highly respectable/feared priestess amongst demons in other instances in this show so I thought that made up for some of the slander. Still though, Kagome is her own person and deserves respect/recognition of her own individual achievements.
You're absolutely right in regards to Kagome being kind to Kikyo and her not being receptive to it. We the audience know that Kagome was genuine in her desire to help Kikyo (despite her having "dark" thoughts) but Kikyo always seemed so apprehensive of her intentions. So that caused alot of tension between them and it was a real, real shame that Kikyo never really acknowledged what she put Kagome through. She probably thought she didn't owe her anything since she probably sensed that Kagome wasn't her biggest fan. Kagome had reasons not to be though.
If Moroha was an InuKik daughter, she would not be as spunky or effervescent. She'd probably be super subdued and tbh?? Quite boring. I love how multi dimensional Moroha is as an InuKag baby. She has parts of each of her parents' personalities and looks, making her the perfect mix. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Note
I must be the only Inukag that doesn’t care about Moroha. Sure she’s cute, but shes from non canon Yashahime so, whatever. The fandom has been making better continuations and OC kids for Inukag for years. We don’t need to beg sunrise for scraps. We have the entire manga.
sorry for ranting. just my opinion.
You're definitely not the only one who doesn't really care about Moroha, I've seen many recent post-canon fanfics where Inuyasha and Kagome have kids, and they don't include her. I also know some people just dislike Yashahime too much to even take Moroha from it, and that's fine. I love Moroha a lot, but I don't think anyone should impose her on all inukag shippers just because Rumiko designed her. Some people have spent years making their own OCs and they definitely deserve as much love as Moroha gets.
I've said this before, but my ideal design for inukag babies has always been black hair + gold eyes + no dog ears, and Rumiko designed her exactly the way I imagined, so I felt vindicated. 99.99% of inukag OC kids have doggy ears and I always felt like I was the only one who didn't want that, lol. I just think it doesn't make much sense, since their children will be mostly human. Plus Moroha’s ribbon in her hair to mimic the ears is adorable! I've never really thought about personalities for inukag's kids before Moroha, but her having Kagome's friendliness and cheerfulness, while also being cocky and impulsive like her dad, is just great. Moroha is perfect to me (minus the way Sunrise writes her as comic relief) but I totally respect the fact that she's not for everyone and that some people prefer their OCs.
We do have an entire manga, but the manga doesn't have inukag being parents :') For years I said I wanted a new series where Inuyasha and Kagome have kids so I made my bed & I lie in it, lmao. It ended up being a terrible one where they aren't even in their daughter's life and the story isn't about them, but they will reunite with her one day 🥴 Mind you, just because I look forward to the inukagmor reunion doesn't mean I expect it to be good. I already know it will have at least one osuwari and one mention of Kikyo/Treekyo, and Inuyasha will definitely be emotionally distant since Sunrise just doesn't know how to write him. But I got emotionally invested in Moroha's well-being when I started watching the show and I've been hoping for their reunion since May 2020 (back when I had hope for the series) so now I just want it for closure.
Let's not pretend like it isn't nice to have an animated scene between Inuyasha, Kagome and their daughter, especially with their VAs and original music from Kaoru Wada. It's unfortunately something we'll only get from Sunrise.

InuKag Week 2021: Day 1
@inukag-week
Day 1: Battle Couple
It was a long and difficult day to say the least. The baby wouldn’t go down for anything, quickly becoming irate and angry at any attempt his parents made to help him settle down. Inuyasha’s shoulders and arms were of no comfort, and he didn’t want to nurse from Kagome. He cried and cried.
Soon his parents cried with him.
Inuyasha held it together for a while, taking the babe from Kagome when she started to choke up at his rejection of her breast. “Here,” his voice was soft, barely audible over the screaming child in Kagome’s arms. “Give him to me. You get some shut eye while we go out for a walk.”
Kagome had shaken her head at first but didn’t stop Inuyasha when he lifted the bundle out of her arms and tucked it into the crook of his neck. “I’m serious,” he told his wife sternly, “get some rest.”
Kagome felt the burn of tears down her face and saw through the waterworks Inuyasha’s shoulders fall slightly. But he turned on his heel and quickly left the hut they occupied, true to his word of taking the baby out for a walk. Kagome dropped her head into her hands, not bothering to even tidy or cover herself up before falling over to cry.
She felt like such a failure, of a mother and wife.
Kagome had gone nearly two days without a few hours rest, and exhaustion quickly crept on her. She was too tired and far too upset herself to remember that Inuyasha needed far less rest than her and could handle a fussy baby for a while. Once she was rested, she would probably blame baby brain for forgetting such a vital part of her husband’s characteristics, but that was for a rested Kagome to worry about.
Sleep came to her quickly, albeit restless sleep. She kept waking and searching for the other occupants of her home, before remembering they were out on a walk. She moved in and out of awareness, not having slept alone in what felt like eons, but realistically was only two years. Her bed felt cold and the room too quiet without her boys in it.
Sunlight finally peaked through the crevices of the walls. Inuyasha had promised her that he would fill in the gaps that the aging wood had created. But that was before the early labor and dramatic entrance of their first-born son just a few short months ago. Kagome half thought to remind him of the task, but then thought she couldn’t risk his attention been separated from her and the baby.
She wasn’t ready to be solely responsible yet.
Sure, reasonably she knew she could do it. It would probably just take him a few hours to gather the straw and mud to bulk up the walls, and with his speed and strength the longest part of it would be waiting for it to dry before adding more. He could help her out during those times, but the thought of even a moment where he wasn’t beside her with his full attention on their baby was too much to imagine.
Kagome started to choke up realizing she had left him to her own worst fear last night – solo parenting.
She rubbed her eyes, and the voice in the back of her head told her “Inuyasha is his father. He is just as capable of taking care of him for a few hours, if not more so.”
She threw that thought to the wind and continued to berate herself for leaving him alone with a very upset and very inconsolable baby for an entire night.
Kagome forced herself to sit up, stiff from having slept in the position she fell over in, rearranging her clothes. She winced at the soreness of her breasts and was sure to loosely cover herself.
“He should be hungry,” she said aloud to no one in particular. ‘Hopefully’ went unspoken.
As she dusted herself off and walked to the bucket of water in the corner to get a drink, Inuyasha’s head ducked in the room, eyes scanning for her.
When he saw her, he gave her a sheepish look. Kagome panicked for a moment – did he leave the baby with Sango and Miroku? What would they think of them as parents if they just dropped the kid off when he got fussy?
Her thoughts were interrupted when he stepped into the room, a whimpering lump on his chest alerting her to the baby’s presence.
Later she would realize her panicked thoughts were more of a manifestation of her own desire to ask her friends for help but wouldn’t out of an irrational fear of judgement. That was another thing she was going to have to work out.
“Sorry to wake you, but he’s suckling on me.”
Kagome blinked, her brain still foggy and slow. Oh. Inuyasha meant the baby was hungry.
She went to grab the baby from her husband, but then thought better of it. Wouldn’t be good to drop the kid in her exhaustion trying to get herself sorted to feed him.
She put down the ladle she was drinking from and sat back down on their futon, crumpled and unmade from the events of the night before. The smell of it made her speak. “We got to air this out today.”
“Once he’s fed, I’ll bring it out.” Inuyasha stepped up into the main room and crouched beside his wife, waiting for her to be ready for the baby – who was still whimpering, but had at least dried himself out of tears.
Kagome adjusted her clothes before holding her arms out for her son – her perfect, fussy, big, loud, demanding son. He quickly latched and took off suckling, eager to fill his stomach and rehydrate after the waterworks of the last few hours.
Kagome felt Inuyasha settled behind her, his arms coming around to hold up their son with her, so her arms didn’t have to hold up the weight. Sighing loudly, she leaned back into him, her head resting against his shoulder and his chin nuzzling into her opposite shoulder. Kagome closed her eyes and started to drift of.
Okay, maybe she did drift off.
Next thing she knew Inuyasha had switched their baby on her breasts and was rubbing his wet nose into her cheek. “Hey,” his voice in her ear was a nice change from the screaming of the night before, “I need you to lay down. I’ve got to burp the brat.”
Kagome nodded, slumping over on his arm, until he removed it and let her flop onto the futon. She could hear the shuffling of his feet walking and bouncing the baby up and down to help him release excess gas. The wet blech told her that more than likely the fire rat robe was going to need to be washed.
Groggily she called out, “He did drink pretty dang fast.”
“Yeah,” came the reply, “let’s just hope he kept enough down to keep him calm for a little bit.”
“Maybe he’ll go into a food coma, and we can rest to.”
Inuyasha snorted. “If there’s a god out there, then let’s pray it happens.”
Kagome knew she should help her husband. He was probably having to juggle a baby while getting out of his clothes and then having to clean both of them up. She knew she should just get up and even if it was to wipe off their son, at least do something. But she couldn’t even manage to open her eyes to watch what she was sure was quite the scene playing out in her house.
She could say she was surprised when she was lifted up and put onto some blankets, but she wouldn’t because she didn’t have it in her to even register what was going on. Managing just a little bit of strength, Kagome saw her son on his back next to her, his chest going up and down and a very light snore coming from his mouth that also caused his ears to twitch in rhythm. He was naked which Kagome knew was probably a bad idea but couldn’t even find it in her to care.
If he soiled the blankets, he soiled the blankets. They washed.
Besides, it wasn’t like she was exactly clean herself.
Rolling to her side, she gently tucked an arm under her head and the other coming down softly to rest on his chest. The movement of his breath quickly lulled his mother into a far more peaceful rest than before.
The sun had well slid its way across the sky by the time Kagome woke up. Inuyasha was sitting in the genkan, a shallow dish of water before him and the boy in his lap. The baby seemed very fascinated by the light dancing across the surface and was enchanted by the experience.
Kagome could tell that her husband was just as enchanted by watching their son experience the world for the first time.
“Some partner I am.” Her voice was rough and gravely from dehydration. Inuyasha’s ears moved before his head. He looked over his shoulder at her, bemusement in his eyes.
“Didn’t know I married a bear demon.”
Kagome rolled her eyes at his quip. Gods help her if her son developed his father’s sense of humor. “I’m sorry for leaving you to all the work. I’m not a very good wife, am I?”
Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed, whether in confusion or annoyance, she couldn’t tell. She was too far gone in her emotions to care. “What kind of mother am I, even? I just leave my boy alone and don’t comfort him?”
Inuyasha cut her off before she could continue down her path of self-deprecation. “No one could comfort him last night. Miroku told me that babies get that way sometimes, so we’ve just got to stick together and make sure he knows we’ll be there for him.”
Ah. He had gone to see Miroku and Sango last night. Kagome felt a sting of bitterness in her chest, worrying about judgement for no reason.
“But,” Inuyasha looked back at his son, stroking the top of his head and lifting his fine sliver baby hair, “we aren’t going to win the battle unless we rely on each other and have each other’s backs.”
Kagome nearly stopped him, wanting to know what battle before she realized Miroku had probably use an analogy to get through to his half-demon friend.
Inuyasha continued. “You had my back with Naraku, and when I got injured. I had your back when you had to fight off Hobo and the entrance examples. It’s no different now.”
Kagome opened her mouth to correct him like she had thousands of times before about Hojo’s name, but her heart had other plans. “You’re right,” she spoke softly, her eyes beginning to close again now that she was comforted. “We’ve got each other’s backs. Thanks for having mine last night.”
If she had kept her eyes open for a few more moments she would have seen the color light up across her husband’s face before he turned to look back down at their boy, who was now touching the water to refract light differently, although he didn’t understand the science of his actions.
If she had stayed awake for a second longer, she would have heard her husband say, “I’ll always have your back.”

Kagome stumbled into the bathroom and hurried to steady herself against the sink as she began to sway. She started to regret that last double shot she had when the world slightly spun. Her eyes met her reflection in the mirror and she bit the inside of her cheek. All things considered, she didn't look that bad.
Her hair was no longer in the perfect, wavy locks pulled across one shoulder. Dark strands flowed in different directions, tousled tresses showing off her liberation from a bitter breakup. The dancing had caused her to sweat half of her make-up off, so with an unsteady hand she worked to unclasp her purse and fish out an eyeliner pen, mascara, and lip gloss - which had been horribly smudged from her lips thanks to a certain silver-haired, arrogant man.
She didn't allow her thoughts to linger on the heated kiss they shared surrounded by an array of flashing lights and electric melodies. If she had made a fool of herself, that was tomorrow Kagome's problem.
After making herself presentable - or at least what she hoped was presentable - Kagome pushed past the other drunk girls in the bathroom and slipped back out into the bar. The coolness of the bathroom chilled her sweat-covered skin and the flush to her cheeks. She had nearly forgotten what the term 'dancing up a sweat' really meant.
The dance floor still thrived, but Kagome decided another drink would be the perfect thing to wash away the last bit of regret left over from kissing Inuyasha. Before she made it back to her barstool, however, she spotted Inuyasha entering the establishment with a sour look on his face.
"Hey," she called out to him, grabbing his arm to stop him. Immediately, she noticed how he held his hand close to his chest, his knuckles painted red with blood. Her brows shot up as she quickly grabbed his hand in both of hers to examine the damage. "What the hell happened?!"
"Keh," he scoffed, pulling his hand out of her grasp. "It's nothin'."
"What do you mean, nothing?" she argued, accusatory brown eyes glaring up at him. Her attention was pulled to the window by a man who was attempting to stand, looking a little worse for wear. And even in her drunken state, she could tell the man had been the stranger who got a little too close to her when they were dancing. The one Inuyasha 'rescued' her from. "Are you kidding me?"
Inuyasha shrugged off her concern and pushed past her to the bar, Kagome following hot on his heels. Kouga greeted them once they settled back onto their barstools, and his deep blue eyes immediately spotted Inuyasha's bloodied knuckles.
Kouga turned his gaze to Kagome. "Why's he bleeding?" he asked, nodding toward Inuyasha.
"Because he's an idiot," Kagome declared as she forcefully pulled Inuyasha's hand close to her. "Do you have a towel or something?"
"Sure thing," Kouga said with a snicker. He handed her a towel that he wet with some vodka.
"Fuck!" Inuyasha yelled out as Kagome pressed the towel to his open wounds.
Kagome clicked her tongue. "Serves you right. What were you thinking picking a fight like that?"
He wouldn't meet her gaze. "He started it."
She narrowed her eyes. "And you called me a five year old?"
Kouga chuckled, earning himself a heated glare from Inuyasha. "Are you just going to stand there? Get us another round."
"Inuyasha!" Kagome chastised. "There's no need to be rude."
The bartender shrugged. "Don't worry, Kagome. His bark is worse than his bite." He quickly poured them a couple more beers and each a shot of whiskey before meandering down to the other end of the bar.
Inuyasha immediately downed his shot of whiskey and threw the towel onto the bartop. "What's your problem?" Kagome demanded, not impressed by his show of masculinity. First he had the audacity to pick a fight and now he acted like busting open his knuckles was no big deal.
"Can we just bury the hatchet on this one?" he requested.
"Only if I can bury it in your skull." Inuyasha smirked at her response, causing Kagome to sigh with a soft smile. "Give me your hand."
This time he didn't fight her as she grabbed his hand in both of hers. After examining the broken skin across his knuckles, Kagome turned over his hand to look for other signs of injury. His palm and finger-pads were calloused and rough to the touch - evidence the skin had made after years of toil - but she had a feeling they were only a small fraction of his story.
His fingers curled around one of her hands and she looked up to be greeted with his amber gaze. "I'm okay," he promised, and she knew by his tone that he was sincere.
"Fine," she finally relented with another sigh, letting go of his hand as she turned to down her shot of whiskey. Her heart was pounding far too hard beneath her breast at this point, meaning she needed more alcohol. She felt her phone buzz in her purse again and pulled it out to scroll through several messages her ex had sent her.
[Kagome please answer me. Just want to make sure you're okay] his apparently concerned text read.
"Hojo?" Inuyasha said.
Kagome immediately locked her phone. "Reading someone's texts over their shoulder is an invasion of privacy."
"Is that your ex?"
She took another sip of beer. "Like I said, he apparently can't stick with his decision." The fact that he dared to even ask if she was okay made Kagome's blood boil. "I mean, he was the one to break off an engagement via text message. He should learn to live with the choice he made and leave me the hell alone."
"Ouch," Inuyasha said with a grimace. "A little testy there, huh?"
If looks could kill.
"All right, Mr. High-And-Mighty," Kagome said as she turned toward him. "Don't think I haven't heard your phone buzzing half the night."
Inuyasha glanced over at his cell that had in fact been vibrating on top of the sleek, black bar. He honestly hadn't paid it much mind. He wasn't the kind of person who checked his phone every time it rang. It annoyed his friends and mother to no end, but he was more about living in the here and now.
"What about it?" he asked.
"Well, aren't you going to see who's been texting you all night?"
"Keh, if you think it's my ex, you've got another thing coming," he said with a chuckle. "She's not like yours. She sticks with her decisions."
Kagome folded her arms over her chest. "Oh, really?"
Just to prove a point, Inuyasha unlocked his phone and scrolled through his messages. Like he had thought, there were a few from his best friend, his mother, and his niece, all of which could wait until morning for him to respond. "You've got to be shittin' me," he mumbled as his eyes came to rest on the text buried at the bottom.
[I think I may have been too hasty when breaking off our relationship yesterday. Perhaps we could meet for dinner next week and discuss it. Let me know xoxo]
Kagome raised a brow at the stunned expression on his face. "Something wrong?"
"Kikyou actually texted me," he said, too surprised to realize Kagome had been right about his ex reaching out. Kikyou had always been firm in all the decisions she made, often weighing pros and cons, and even going so far as to do thorough research on even the most negligible issues.
Curiously, Kagome peeked over his shoulder to read the text message. "Wow… she's a very formal texter, isn't she?"
Inuyasha slid a glare her way. "Now who's invading someone's privacy?"
Kagome smiled and grabbed his phone out of his hand before he could protest. "Do you want to get back together with her?"
"I… I don't know," he tripped over his words, a light blush coming to his cheeks as he desperately attempted to grab his phone back from her.
She held it just out of his reach and laughed. "If it's not a firm 'no', then you're just bad news."
He frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"She literally dropped you at the first sign of you being an 'inconvenience' to her. Why would you want to take her back?"
Inuyasha opened his mouth to argue, but quickly shut it. How could he convey his feelings for Kikyou to a girl he just met at a bar? "You don't know-"
"The whole story?" she cut him off with a smile. "Well, from what little you told me, the ending was the best part." Kagome quickly typed a few keys on his phone and pulled up his camera. "Here, let's take a picture to commemorate this night of freedom from exes."
Kagome allowed no time for him to argue with her. Liquid courage swam through her veins and she found her lips on his again, and only a second later felt him kissing her back. His hand moved up to her jaw line, the rough pad of his thumb tracing her cheekbone.
Click!
She pulled away and slowly opened her eyes, the rush of heat from their kiss exploding in her chest. It took her a minute of staring into honey-glazed eyes for her to come to her senses. She cleared her throat. "There, see?"
Holding up his phone, Kagome showed Inuyasha the picture she had snapped. His eyes studied the photo - of a heartbroken boy being soothed by a heartbroken girl, the blur of people and lights in the background showing the world spun on around them, and yet, in that moment, it felt like only the two of them existed.
"It's, uh…" He fumbled for words, the room suddenly feeling too hot. "I… I like it."
"Good." She pulled his phone back and again started typing quickly on the keypad. He raised a brow curiously until she gave the phone back to him.
[Sorry. My schedule's booked.] Kagome had typed into a reply to Kikyou.
Attached to the text was the photo she had just taken, of Inuyasha kissing some strange woman at a bar. All he had to do was hit send.
And before he could second guess himself, he did just that.
Kagome smiled up at him. "You deserve better."
He grinned in return. "And what about you? Don't you deserve better?"
As if on cue, her phone buzzed again. Kagome bit her lip and unlocked it, seeing another text from Hojo.
[You really have me worried. Call me!]
Inuyasha snatched her phone out of her hand, much like she did to him. "Hey!" she cried out, not happy with being on the receiving end of that trick.
"Let's make it even."
His lips crashed against hers, leaving Kagome stunned and nearly knocked off her barstool. She wrapped her hands around the front of his shirt to steady herself, feeling his palm on the small of her back pull her toward him. The kiss was passionate and heated, making her want nothing more than to throw caution to the wind and finish what they had started on that dance floor.
Click!
Inuyasha pulled away while simultaneously helping to steady her on her barstool. She barely registered him typing away on her phone until he held it out for her to see.
He copied her in the way of responding to Hojo's text message.
[No need to worry. I'm not going home alone tonight.] he had typed, attaching the picture he had taken to the message.
Kagome clicked on the picture. She nearly didn't recognize herself; the woman in the photo had wild tresses and a warm flush to her cheeks, holding onto the man before her as if her life depended on it. She embodied freedom.
"I love it," she murmured, slowly clicking 'send'.
And then she quickly began to regret her decision.
"Don't even think about it," Inuyasha said, taking her phone from her hands and putting it face down on the bar top. "The shame is written all over your face."
Kagome swallowed slowly, working through her regrettable thoughts, and then gave him a shaky smile. "You know what, you're right. Screw him."
"Another round?" Kouga asked as he gestured to their empty shot glasses.
Kagome suddenly had a thought. "Kouga, do you have an ex that did you wrong?"
He looked at her curiously with his lips pulling into a lopsided smile. "Doesn't everyone?"
She laughed brilliantly. "I guess so."
Inuyasha chuckled. "Take a shot with us, fleabag."
Kouga scrutinized him, but poured the shots without contest. "Here you are. What are we drinking to?"
Kagome and Inuyasha shared a look. "To horrible exes. May they leave us so we can find better, and may they never come around again."
"To finding better," Inuyasha agreed, and all three of them downed their shots.
Looking back, Kagome would pinpoint this moment in which the best parts of her brain switched off and she allowed the fool to run her life, and her mouth. She had been so used to the type of intoxication that shut the soul down, like when she was with her ex, trapped in a soul-coffin, as shut down a person could be and still be able to breathe.
But with Inuyasha - a man she just met who intrigued her with his sharp tongue, surly attitude, and passionate kisses - the intoxication brought every fiber of her soul to a state of aliveness she had forgotten was possible.
His eyes, the color of the whiskey in her glass, drowned her completely. The rest of the night passed by in a blur, her fingers always reaching for him, the connection of his body pressed against hers a desire she had no strength to withstand. Her legs were unsteady beneath her as the world spun, her laughter a little too loud, her words a little too slurred, her lips unable to clearly divulge what her brain was trying to say.
"Inu...yasha," she purred what she hoped was seductively, her drunken smile giving away all of her lonely thoughts.
He laughed at her, the rumble in his chest comforting as she clung to him. "I knew you were a lightweight," he murmured.
And then Kouga's blue eyes were watching her, a half-smile, a concerned tone.
"Come on," Inuyasha beckoned to her and she didn't even bother to tell him no.
He wrapped his hand around hers - warm and calloused - as he led her away from the bar. She stumbled after him like a silly school girl following her crush through the halls of make-believe. The cool evening air briefly pulled her from the haze of her drunken mind.
"Where'we goin'?" she asked him as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders to help keep away the chill. It felt so good to bury into his warmth, a man who stood so steady beside her.
"Home."
Kagome nodded against him, because she finally realized that home was exactly where she should be. When a car pulled up beside them, she didn't question Inuyasha guiding her into its backseat, or giving her address to the driver - how did he know where she lived?
She gazed up at him, the dim light of passing street lamps causing his eyes to glow. Her hand found a place against his chest, and he leaned down to kiss her, his lips warm against her own. Some part of her tried to pull her from his arms, reason with her that a sober Kagome would never have been so brash, and regret was a fickle thing.
But the alcohol still buzzing through her system wiped out those thoughts completely.
"Let's go, hot mess," Inuyasha coaxed her out of the car and onto the sidewalk.
She giggled as she haphazardly leaned against him. "Th' hottest mess you've e'er seen."
His baritone laugh made her grin. He helped her stumble up the stairs to her apartment, and he easily fitted her key into her door, swinging it open into the darkness beyond. As soon as the door was shut behind him, she turned and slammed her lips to his. Her fingers tangled within his silver hair, deepening the kiss, as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Kagome," his breathy voice whispered against her ear, causing a shiver to run down her spine.
She ignored his plea, instead pushing and pulling him toward her bedroom, dropping her purse and kicking off her shoes along the way. Inuyasha guided her to the bed, lowering her body to the mattress as he hovered over her, placing kisses down her neck.
And then he stopped, causing a slight whine to fall from her lips. "Kagome," he said, this time his voice more stern, his breath passing through his lips heavy and uneven.
Kagome wiggled beneath him, her hips grinding against a very sensitive spot, causing a groan to fall from his lips. "Inuyasha, please," she murmured, reaching up and pulling him closer, begging for him to help her forget the misery of the day for just a few precious hours.
He groaned again. "Stay still," he grumbled, holding himself over her with his hands and knees. "Moving will only make this harder for the both of us."
She smiled and bit her lower lip attempting to seduce him, to persuade him to give into the desires they both shared in that moment, and grinded her hips against him again.
Another deep moan came from his throat, as he forcefully pulled her hands away from his hair and held them over her head. "Kagome, don't." His words were deliberate, because he knew if pushed far enough, his self control would wither.
"Please," she begged, this time her seductive expression turning to pouting lips.
"I-I can't."
She swallowed hard. "Tell me I'm worth it, then."
Her words caught him off guard as Inuyasha looked down at her. She was beautiful, her glassy brown eyes gazing up at him, appealing to him the deepest fears of her heart. Obsidian hair lay in a mess around her shoulders, her bruising lips and flushed cheeks promising a night he didn't dare hope for. "Kagome…"
"Promise me," she quietly urged again in a breathy whisper. "Promise me I'm always going to be worth it."
Calloused hands reached to cup her face, his thumb running across her cheekbone to wipe away a lone tear. "I promise."
Kagome was desperate, a girl she had pledged to never become, but Inuyasha was infatuating and sexy and in bed with her. Her inhibitions had long left her, and so she reached up again and pulled him to her. This time he didn't fight her advances, their lips meeting in a vulnerable kiss, and the rest of night became a blur of complacency and tangled sheets.

Note
Such shame how director and writer of trashhime replaced inuyasha by mary sue twins nieces to save shitrise from falling. Towa is selfish didnt care about friends unlike Kagome who care her friends in feudal era
I think it's mainly because they want to make more money out of Inuyasha franchise, undoubtedly one of theirs that give the biggest revenue, yet Rumiko Takahashi doesn't want to make anything out of that series again because in her eyes Inuyasha ends in 2010 and the ending is just perfect as it is. So, they have to find a loophole in which they could make an anime with original Inuyasha casts (mandatory!! because everyone loovveee inukag and mirsan 🥰🥰 esp Japanese fans, you should see how dedicated they are in making inukag and mirsan shrines) but didn't violate the mangaka's wish: voila! They created their own OCs which are children of the OG series' characters 🥳 aaannnddd since they love Sesshomaru soooo muuccchhh, the kids must be set as his! But who's the mother.... both his (potential) love interests has already dead... 🤔 A-ha! There's still Rin! It doesn't matter if she's still a teenager, they could age her up. Surely fans wouldn't recognize it, right? 🤭 All at the same time, they have to put the OG IY characters to the side as much as possible so as to: 1) respect RT's decision and 2) not interfere with their OCs 😈 Too bad they were plotting all that in just a whim hence the colossal failure of their anime 😪 the storyline is everywhere, the plot is constantly changing for no apparent reason (do not try to compare this with anime whose plots are about propaganda i.e. AoT), the character design is weird (random power-ups? getting much much stronger all of a sudden without practicing?), etc. etc. You know the rest.
And as for Towa being selfish and didn't care about her friends the way Kagome does, I think these tweets from fellow antis nicely summed up why:

Inukag *warning this chapter might hurt*
Staring out through the windshield of his car, his darkened home was the picture-perfect mirror of the pain settling into his soul. Inuyasha had no idea how he’d even managed to make it home without driving off a cliff or plowing himself into a stone wall, because his body and mind were completely numb.
‘Read’ but not answered…
Was it a good sign that the woman at least looked at it? Inuyasha rested his head against the steering wheel and closed his eyes. He’d fucked up… again— just like the night of the accident. His eyes squeezed tighter shut as the emotional pain of everything slammed him with the force of a freight train. This was bad… bad, bad, bad… “FUCK!!” He roared into the still night air. With Kagome’s memories coming back, she’ll remember everything, and it was over. He’d had this second chance to reverse all the damage and he went and fucked it up again.
Not surprisingly, Kagome didn’t respond to his first text, so he typed out a final message for the night: ‘You’re mad at me. I get that so I’ll give you some space but I just wanna say good night Kagome. I love you -Inu’
‘Read’ but not answered…
It was all he could do for now, his only solace knowing Kagome had her mother to comfort her. Inuyasha sighed, long and deep as he pulled the keys from the ignition and dragged himself into his home. His body felt heavy with exhaustion. A weight crushing him down like a boulder. It took all he had to just drop his keys to the floor beside the entrance and shuffle into the bedroom instead of falling right then and there. He didn’t want to move anymore. He deserved the silent darkness of this tomb-like home along with its judgmental echoes of the life it once held.
The next morning after a restless sleep, Inuyasha called out of work. When would he be back, he couldn’t answer them? Part of him didn’t care anymore. Fire him, it wouldn’t matter to the walking dead. Miroku called in concern for his friend, but Inuyasha let it go to voicemail. He didn’t feel like talking to anybody right now, not when he knew it would have a ring of ‘I told you so,’ mixed in. That wasn’t necessary. Didn’t he feel bad enough?
A good morning text sent… left on Read…
An apology text….
Another apology text…
Voice messages left randomly through the day…
All left on Read and unanswered.
The anxiety filled hours ticked on with Inuyasha left curled up in a ball under his blanket. He’d done a number on his living room to physically release the anger he felt at himself, and now he was just dead to the world. All the drapes were tightly closed to the sunlight outside and he only left his bed to attend to bathroom matters. He didn’t wanna give up all hope, but with his mind in tatters and thoughts only of despair, there was nothing left to cling to.
By nightfall Inuyasha was convinced Kagome had truly given him up and he couldn’t blame her for it. This was all his fault. Him and his stupid big mouth. There was no denying it. He shouldn’t have argued with her. Just like before, instead of using his ears to listen, he responded with ego when he had no right to chastise her over not telling him something. The whole reason he was in this mess is because he never listened to her when it mattered the most— and there in lay the heart of it all. Neither of them had the opportunity to talk about what caused the original fight or process what drove Kagome to leave. Inuyasha thought he’d understood its origins and accepted responsibility for it, but clearly, he was wrong, and this new situation is most certainly what would have taken place if Kagome hadn’t crashed her car— a debilitating depression.
If Kagome didn’t want him anymore, then there wasn’t anything left for him in this world as far as Inuyasha was concerned. His yoki called out for her, wept for her loss, and with it all the energy in his soul to care slipped away. He was simply empty without her. No appetite or desire or thirst, just an ocean of dread, and waves of numbness dulling all his senses.
How much time had elapsed, how many days gone by? The clock ticked away hour by hour like a death knell with Inuyasha simply waiting for a release to come. All the messages left on his phone were from everyone other than the one person who could have brought him out of this funk. But her ringtone never came. It is what is it. Was it day four? Five? Six? Inuyasha couldn’t tell, but feeling his body starting to let go, he decided to send one last message to Miroku before shutting off the phone for good.
At the Hoshii residence, Miroku and Sango were on edge dealing with the crisis. Sango had been doing her best to help Kagome to cope with her pain, but Miroku was growing frantic over Inuyasha’s refusal to answer him. He’d driven by the man’s home and knew the car was there, and that was it. No one answered the door and with all the curtains closed he couldn’t see inside. Finally, on day five while they were visiting with Kagome, Miroku heard his phone ping with a message.
Inuyasha: thanks for being a good friend. Tell her she was the only one I’ve ever loved
“What the hell?” Miroku blurted out as he mulled the message over and over in his head.
Sango rushed over at the concern in her husband’s voice. “What is it?!”
“I think that idiot is planning to kill himself— I better… I better go.”
Hearing the commotion, Mrs. Higurashi also came out of the kitchen. “What’s going on?”
“It’s about a message Inuyasha just sent,” Sango explained as her husband was digging around in his small pouch and grabbing his car keys. “Miroku is gonna check on him.”
“What did it say?” Mrs. Higurashi questioned.
So, Miroku showed the woman his phone. “It doesn’t sound good.”
“Oh, dear!” She reached for a jacket near the front door. “I’m coming too! Sango will you stay?”
“Of course, I’ll be here with Kagome. You two go.”
It was a good thing that Miroku had held onto a spare key to Inuyasha’s home that he’d been given and simply forgotten to return. When he and Mrs. Higurashi walked through the door, chills crawled over his skin. It was evident that the house had been closed-up for several days, no windows opened, or ventilation, just a silent graveyard feeling with a fog of musty air mixed with the scent of rotting kitchen garbage and body odor. It was revolting and only heightened the pairs concern for the occupant.
“Inuyasha?!” Miroku yelled as they made their way through the dark home but received no response. The man wasn’t in the living areas or bathroom, so the logical option was the master bedroom at the far end of the hallway. ‘Please be alive,’ he prayed.
Once inside the room, they could see an unmoving body underneath the blankets and if the buildup of body odor told a story, it was sure to be his friend underneath those covers. “Inu?” Still no response.
Mrs. Higurashi turned on the bedroom light, and the brightness finally caused the blanket to shift ever so slightly. “Oh, thank heavens,” she gasped out in relief as she held a hand to her chest. He was still alive.
Miroku rushed over and yanked the blanket off. “Inuyasha!” Tears instantly gathered in the panicked man’s eyes. The state of his friend was heart breaking. Inuyasha had lost weight. His skin was gaunt and pasty white, hair matted and dirty. “Oh, fuck, we— we should call emergency!”
“No…” Inuyasha croaked out and buried his face deeper under his arm. “Let me die.”
“Fuck no, you idiot! Kagome still needs you!”
“Better… off… without me…”
‘Seriously?!’ It was rare for Miroku to get so upset, but in that moment, the anger that bubbled up to surface took over and his arm flew up ready to strike his friend. “You stupid—!!”
“Don’t!” Mrs. Higurashi yelled at Miroku. “He needs help, not anger right now.”
That seemed to snap Miroku out of his emotions, but the tears broke free. It was hard to see his friend in this position, just so frail— nothing like the tough hanyo that he’s known for years. Even after the death of his mother, Inuyasha didn’t break down this badly. Miroku grit his teeth to his own pain and pushed forward. “You idiot. Dying isn’t gonna help Kagome. So, whether you like it or not, we’re gonna help you.”
Mrs. Higurashi now moved around the bed to where she could sit beside Inuyasha. Her own eyes were clouded too, but the woman pulled on all the strength she could muster to hold it together. She placed a hand on the arm he was using to cover his face. “Inu, Miroku is right. Kagome is hurting just as much as you, and I don’t think you’d want to cause her anymore heart ache by going out this way.”
“But she hates me…” Inuyasha whimpered weakly. “Please just let me go.”
Mrs. Higurashi had to squeeze her eyes shut to hold back her tears. Her heart broke for the man. Gently, she pulled his arm down, her voice shaking as she spoke. “Inuyasha, you’re like a son to me, and I won’t let me son die. We’re gonna figure this out, but you need to live please, for her, for all of us that cares about you.”
Inuyasha’s eyes cracked open just a tad. “I’m so, sorry,” he mumbled. “So… sorry…”
She kept her voice as soothing as possible. “I know, and so does Kagome.” Mrs. Higurashi then turned to Miroku. “Do you think you can get him into the shower and clean him up? I’ll make something for him to eat. He needs something in his stomach immediately.”
“Y-Yeah, I think I can do it.”
It took both of them to help Inuyasha into the bathtub. He was so emaciated and dehydrated, that he had no strength left in his body, just dead weight. While Mrs. Higurashi left them to deal with the kitchen, Miroku stripped his friend of clothing and ran a bath to bathe him. Inuyasha offered no resistance, just a few tears flowing down his cheeks.
“I’m sorry,” Inuyasha kept repeating.
“Don’t apologize to me. Save it for Kagome. I can’t believe you’d think we’d be okay with you dying! You’re my best fucking friend you asshole! I want my kids to grow up with their uncle!”
“But I keep screwing up.”
“And that’s life. It ain’t the end of the world yet.”
“Feels like it.”
“Whether you believe us if not, Kagome is hurting cause she in love with your stupid ass too. You can still fix this.”
“Don’t know how.”
“And that’s why we’re here.”
“Thank you…”
Inuyasha’s eyes started to roll back, so Miroku slapped him hard in the face. “Oi! Don’t you be dying on me now! So, wake the fuck up!”
“So… tired…”
“Gonna clean you up and momma Higurashi will get your strength back, so hang on just a little longer…”
Now cleaned up and dressed in something comfortable, they prop Inuyasha up in a recliner since he was still struggling to hold up his own body weight. He simply had no reserves left to draw from and under human standards wouldn’t have lasted this long. A hospital was better equipped to deal with this kind of situation. Inuyasha should have been put on IV fluids to hydrate him faster along with special supplements pumped directly into his system because after this long, the organs would have started to shut down, and his stomach would struggle to process anything. But Mrs. Higurashi made due to honor his request, starting with a bland rice water chicken broth of starch, proteins, and vegetable nutrients to re-prime it slowly. She also sent Miroku to the store to purchase drinks with electrolytes given to infants when they are dehydrated. It was a painstaking process to feed Inuyasha spoonful by spoonful.
“I need you to help me fight Inuyasha,” the woman coaxed the weakened hanyo. “So, you can live through this and see Kagome again.”
Tears flooded Inuyasha’s eyes at the mention of Kagome’s name. “After everything, why would you still want me around her?”
“Because you love her, and she loves you, and as long as there’s love it can find a way. Son,” she placed a hand on his, “I know it feels like the end of the world, but it will get better if you want it to. Do you want it to?”
“Yes,” he sobbed.
Her hand now gripped his tightly as her expression grew determined. “Then fight for it!”
It took several bowls of soup before gradually Mrs. Higurashi started giving Inuyasha fish and small pieces of chicken meat to eat. She had to stick to easily digestible foods, but at least his coloring was improving, and he could feed himself now. The sun has already set, by the time Inuyasha could finally stand up on his own.
“You’re lucky you’re a hanyo. That’s what’s probably saved your life.” Miroku expressed to his friend.
“I know.” Inuyasha could feel his demon half working harder to regenerate his physical body. Though while his body was recovering, his heart still felt broken. They kept telling him that Kagome still loved him so there is hope, but a part of him struggled to believe it. He’d already hit such a low point, to suffer rejection now was almost too unbearable to even comprehend.
Miroku continued talking. “Inuyasha, you’re not gonna do this alone. We will be there to support both of you, but it’s time you confront this. You and Kagome need to talk… about everything— even though she may not remember, a lack of communication is exactly what triggered this whole situation.”
“I know…” Inuyasha sighed.
“All couples go through struggles,” Mrs. Higurashi added with a comforting tone in her voice. “A strong relationship doesn’t come from a having a perfect one, Inuyasha. It’s developed through adversity. How well a couple can take the challenges thrown at them and grow from it.”
“You remember what happened with me and Sango, we almost didn’t make it because of my bad behaviors…”
“Your damn womanizing,” Inuyasha cut in.
“Yeah, that,” Miroku grumpily agreed. “She had to give me a harsh ultimatum to wake me up. But I did, and now look at us. This is your harsh moment, and you can choose to wake up, or loose the best thing that’s ever happened to you. It’s your choice.”
“Okay, okay, I get it.” Inuyasha ran a hand down his face. “Of course, I don’t wanna lose her.”
“Then are you ready to see Kagome?” Mrs. Higurashi questioned.
Inuyasha exhaled slowly. “Ready? No…” he was terrified to face the woman. “But I’ve gotta do it.”

“C’mon, Moroha, I really don’t want to do this tonight...”
With a heavy sigh, Kagome swept aside the reed mat to her home and wasn’t at all surprised to find it empty aside from her lightly dozing husband. He sat against the wall in his usual fashion, legs crossed, arms tucked into his opposite sleeves, and he stared at her with curious, but tired eyes.
Kagome huffed and crossed her arms. “Where’d she go?”
“She?”
She gave him a look. “I know I saw her run in here. Did she climb out the window again?”
A slow blink. “My eyes were closed, wench. I didn’t see anything.”
Kagome wrinkled her nose and tried not to pout because as much as she wanted to believe otherwise, she knew her husband spoke the truth. He and Miroku had just gotten back an hour prior from a week long demon slaying trip and a single glance as he’d dragged himself inside their little hut had told her of his bone-deep exhaustion. He’d shaken his head at her inquisitive look and she hadn’t pried, figuring he’d explain all that had happened tomorrow morning after he’d gotten some well deserved rest and they had a little time to themselves while Moroha slept for another hour or so. So she’d merely smiled, kissed his cheek, and left him to rest while she wrangled up their hyper-active toddler to get ready for her bath.
But of course, true to form, Moroha was anything but compliant, the resulting happiness from her father’s return making her energized, hyper, and consequently turning everything into a game.
Ergo, why Kagome was now searching for her hyper-active daughter after the child had darted away with mischievous giggles, evidently deciding that a game of Hide and Seek sounded like a great idea.
Kagome disagreed.
Heaving a long-suffering sigh, Kagome jutted her hip to the side and pinned her half-demon with a look of weary tolerance. Inuyasha likened it to fond exasperation.
“You’re lucky I love you.” Dark eyes glinted impishly at him and the corners of her lips twitched.
He fought a grin. “And here I thought you only married me for my ears.”
The look she gave him that time was coy and her smile was even more so.
“Among other things,” she said leadingly and had the audacity to drop her gaze somewhere lower than his face.
Inuyasha’s lids lowered and he beckoned her over to him with a jerk of his head. “C’mere.”
Kagome bit her lip and took a single step forward before halting herself and narrowing her eyes at him.
“No.”
Black brows rose into silver bangs. “No?”
“Yeah. No, because I know that look, you need to rest, and I need to find your kid so I can give her the bath she’s avoiding.”
“My kid, huh?”
“Yes, your kid. Because no child of mine would ever be this stubborn and hyper-active and suddenly think bath time would be a great time for Hide and Seek.”
“Really.”
She suppressed another smile. “Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping?”
“Ain’t that what we’re gonna be doing in a couple hours, anyway? Sleep?” Inuyasha rejoined, quirking a brow.
Kagome rose both her eyebrows at him and tipped him a small smile that spoke volumes.
He couldn’t do it. He grinned at her. “Keh.”
Kagome snickered and tossed him a little wink. “Get some rest, dogboy. You’re gonna need it.”
“Cheeky.”
“Only for you.” She smiled, blew him a kiss, and ducked out the door, calling for their wayward daughter once again.
Chuckling, Inuyasha shook his head and released a yawn.
A few minutes passed and then suddenly a little nose poked out from behind the curtain of his suikan sleeves, sniffing once, twice, three times. Inuyasha watched, amused, as his daughter tentatively peeked out from behind the large draping sleeves that hid her from view and surveyed their home for her mother. Finding the room empty, Moroha giggled in triumph and slithered out from her father’s lap to land on the floor in a wriggling heap, relishing in her victory.
Inuyasha gave her a deadpan stare.  “You’re gonna get me in trouble.”
Moroha grinned at him. “Nooo, Papa help me!”
“You used me, runt.”
“Noooo!” she giggled and got to her feet.
“You gonna let Mama give you a bath?”
“Nooooo.” Vehement head-shaking followed.
“Will you let Papa give you a bath?”
“Noo!” More giggling as she stomped around in circles.
“You ever gonna stop answering everything with ‘no’?”
The devil-child grinned at him. “Nooo.”
Inuyasha’s ear flicked and he nodded sagely. “I see. So then you don’t want the gift that Papa got for you while he was away.”
Moroha’s eyes widened. “N--” She stopped. Blinked. Furrowed her brow as she thought hard for a moment before her eyes brightened.
Nodding her head rather enthusiastically, she said, “No.”
Inuyasha balked. Blinked. Then narrowed his eyes. “You brat, that’s cheating.”
The toddler smashed her hands against her mouth to hide the obvious grin as she danced in place, bouncing up and down in her excitement.
“Noooo,” she denied amid her giggles, apparently having far too much fun with this particular “game.”
Cheeky. Just like her mother. Keh.
Inuyasha tried to keep the stern look on his face as he shifted his position, moving as if he was getting ready to get to his feet and being deliberately slow about it.
“Alright, runt, you have three seconds to make yourself scarce before you learn how to swim like your old man did and not how your mom wants you to.”
Even at such a young age, Moroha knew it was an empty threat but she acted like it wasn’t anyway, releasing a high-pitched squeal of laughter before turning around and darting through the doorway with more giggles.
Inuyasha sank back down with a grunt and released another yawn as his ears picked up the sound of a gasp, small feet scrambling in the dirt, and then a triumphant “Gotcha, you little sneak!”
Seconds later he heard the melodic sound of his little girl’s laughter as she was “punished” by way of The Tickle Monster, aka, her mother. Softer, throatier laughter joined in before the woman herself stepped through the doorway once more, their daughter tucked beneath her arm like a sack of rice with her little dirty feet kicking merrily in the air.
Placing her free hand on her hip, Kagome arched a brow at him and said dryly, “Didn’t see anything, huh?”
“I was an unwilling accomplice. I’m innocent.”
Kagome snorted her opinion of that. Moroha echoed the sentiment.
Inuyasha frowned at the little backside wiggling in the air at him. “Traitor.”
Said wee traitor giggled, clearly unrepentant.
Kagome couldn’t hold back a smile. “Where was she?”
He stared at her for a minute before resuming his earlier position. Crossing his legs, he stuffed his hands into his sleeves again and cocked a single brow at his wife.
Kagome gaped at him. Then at their daughter.
“You sneaky little demon!”
Moroha giggled and squirmed in her mother’s grasp. “Sneaky!”
Inuyasha chuckled.
Kagome pointed at him. “You’re in trouble.”
He grinned.
She narrowed her eyes. “Stop that.”
He stopped.
Rolling her eyes, though unable to keep her lips from twitching upward, Kagome flapped a hand at him as if in dismissal.
“Go to sleep. You’re annoying me.”
“Excuse you, you’re the one who barged in here and disturbed my beauty sleep.”
“Inuyasha, no amount of beauty sleep in the world will--”
“Finish that sentence, wench, and you’ll find the runt and yourself taking a nice little evening swim in the cold river.”
Kagome promptly sealed her lips and smiled as she batted her eyes at him.
Inuyasha snorted and stuck his nose in the air, closing his eyes. “Beat it. I need my rest and you two are loud.”
Finally giving in with a soft laugh, Kagome shook her head then knelt down to set their daughter on the floor. She whispered something to the toddler and with a bright smile, Moroha obediently scampered on over to her father.
Inuyasha waited until she’d reached his side before dipping his head. He received a soft kiss to his cheek with a soft, “G’night, Papa,” and small arms wrapping around his neck. He hugged his little girl back, wrapping an arm around her tiny body and dropping a kiss to her head.
“Night, babygirl,” he murmured. He was rewarded with a bright smile - her mother’s smile - before his daughter turned and toddled back to his wife.
Kagome hoisted their toddler up into her arms, bestowed her husband with a soft, loving smile, then turned and left their home to finally give their daughter her long-overdue bath.
When Inuyasha woke, it was fully dark out and a small hand - a familiar hand - was lazily stroking his ear. Said ear flicked, there was a brief pause, then the gentle massage continued. One by one his sense came back online; the smoke and burning wood from the fire pit was the first thing to register. Next was the soothing sounds of two heartbeats, one slow and steady with the rhythm of slumber, and the other calm and nearby. Lastly was the feeling of something warm and soft leaning against his bare back, skin against skin, warm lips pressing a kiss to his shoulder.
He sighed, deciding he was content enough for the moment to relish in the warmth, the feeling of his wife’s body against his own, her forever intoxicating sent surrounding him as she stoked his ear. But then she started kissing his neck and he abruptly decided nope time to move.
A shift, a tug, and then he had her under him, bare and beautiful and smiling. Her hands pressed against his chest and he leaned down, kissed her nose, her jaw, her chin.
“Miss me?” he murmured and laid his forehead against hers, eyes twin pools of heated amber gold.
“Yes.” No hesitation, no pause; just open honesty, genuine love in those dark eyes. Hands curled around the back of his neck as she tilted her face up, a silent request.
“Show me,” he whispered against her mouth before claiming it in a slow, languid kiss that had he been aching to give her for days.
His wife, the mother of his child, his beloved Kagome happily returned it, her passion soft but urgent, heady but contained, hot but maddeningly slow. She whispered his name, kissed him one more time, then promptly rolled him onto his back so she could do as he bade and show him how much she’d missed him.

You're a fantastic writer! ✏️ I'm curious before the whole Yashahime disaster, what was your ideal post canon ideas for Inuverse?
Some examples would be how many kids did Inukag have and do they look more human or demonic? What are the next gen kids personalities like? Did the well reopen? Is Sessomaru a good uncle/brother to Inukag and kids? How are Mirsan, Shippo, and Koga doing? Do you imagine the Inugang having more slice of life adventures or going on another serious adventure like Horai Island?
Sorry, that this is a lot to ask, I really enjoy your writing, anyways keep up the wonderful work! 🌟
.Well, thank you, first of all. You're very sweet for saying that about my writting.
And honestly? In my opinion, Inuyasha had a very satisfying, very definitive ending. The main characters have all earned their happily ever after and a continuation wasn't at all needed unless you wanted to mess this up. Sometimes the healthy thing to do is just let the piece of media you love go and revisit it or explore fanfiction if you miss it.
Which doesn't mean an official Inuyasha sequel couldn't have been done right. I know that because over the years, this fandom has written absolutely mind blowing post canon fanfics.
I'm talking about stories that have engaging and interesting plots, flawless characterization and actually fit right into the world of Inuyasha, not only respecting the lore and rules of its universe but expanding on it and adding substance to it, filling in the blanks the original left instead of creating more.
There are many, many examples of that, but to me, the ideal post canon, non next generation universe is the one written in Light Me a Lantern by @inuyashasforest (and I still can't believe we got this masterpiece for free). Compare it to Yashahime and you'll see the difference between writting with passion and love for the original story and writting so you can make money. It's disconcerting.
That being said, I talked about how many kids I'd like Inuyasha and Kagome to have here. As for their personalities and what do they look like, I expressed my thoughts about it here, but was specifically talking about Moroha since she was the one thing Sunrise did right.
Any children Inuyasha and Kagome eventually bring into the world would have to be only 1/4 demon as opposite to Inuyasha's 1/2. This means less demonic features and more human characteristics. I like the idea that their children would be a perfect mix of them, just like Moroha, only with a few outstanding demonic attributes here and there. Like, Moroha has the fangs, her brother could have white hair, her other sibling could have dog ears and so on. But never all at once.
I enjoy Moroha as a big sister and I like to picture her baby brother as a mama's little boy. He would be sensitive, shy, smart and very talented in artistic ways.
As for the Mirsan kids, I love the concept of the twins being huge flirts so Miroku pays for his sins. One of them having his spiritual powers while the other takes after her mother and becomes a great demon slayer also amuses me to no end. And I adore the name Hisui for their babyboy. Only I think instead of being a demon slayer he could grow up to be the leader of the village or have an equivalent position of political power.
The Well never opened again (I've talked about this before, but couldn't find the more in dept post I made, so I'll just summarize it here): the Well reopening greatly takes emotional weight away from the narrative. it diminishes Kagome's final choice, it annihilates the "bittersweetness" of her return, it keeps the story from circling back from Inuyasha being a lonely half demon being despised by everyone to the same Inuyasha now having someone willing to sacrifice everything for him. And it also leaves no room for Inuyasha and Kagome to figure it out how this sacrifice affects their relationship and grow from it as characters and as a couple. Of course you can interpret the ending in a different way, but I'm personally very passionate about this one.
Sesshomaru treats his nieces and nephews the same way he treated Rin and Kohaku. He grows to respect Inuyasha in his cold, silent way, but he's still closer to Kagome. One, because Kagome makes him. Two, because there's just too much story between Sesshomaru and Inuyasha, both of them deciding things are good the way they are, no reason to force it.
Miroku and Sango are doing great. They rebuilt Sango's village, their kids and friends are the joy of their lives. They often go on missions together when Inuasha and Kagome are free to babysit and or when their kids are old enough. And just like in Yashaime (because that part was actually interesting), Miroku feels a bit useless without the Wind Tunnel so he does his best to get stronger in different ways (ways that do not unclude basically abandoning his family) and he achieves that goal with a lot of effort and Sango's constant support.
Shippo becomes a very famous figure in the kitsune community because his tricks improve greatly and he grows up to be one of the greatest names in the story of transfiguration. Koga runs the rebuilt (and thrieving) Wolf Tribe with Ayame by his side. They're now human friendly thanks to the Inugang, with whom he regularly keeps touch.
I don't really have a preference as for if they would have more slice of life adventures or another serious quest when I'm reading fanfic. But if we're talking official content, I'd go for a new life or death mission in a heartbeat, because as much as slice of life is pure and cute and wholesome, I'd be waiting for something to happen all the time, then get frustrated and bored once it doesn't.
It's one thing to deliberately search for slice of life content, which I often do. Another one is being fed nothing but slice of life while Sunrise makes easy profit off it without any real effort to give us something that actually can be categorized as a sequel, not just another epilogue.
If we're paying for a whole show with at least two seasons, we should get slice of life and a real adventure while we're at it. Unless it's, like, a very compact list of episodes (half a season tops) made to be nothing but extra content to rise founds for charity or something of the sorts, in which case it would be acceptable.

I was really hoping that the twins would stay in the modern era but it’s looking that they might stay permanently in the feudal era. Sota was the perfect father and you can see that he loves towa so much. I just hate that sesshomaru keeps being praised even tho he was a horrible father and “husband.” He didn’t even do the bare minimum. But of course the director is a sesshomaru fan so he going to paint sesshomaru in a great light. When I saw that sesshomaru was near death I was really hoping he would just die but of course I knew the possibility was low. But I was hoping for a high possibility for the twins staying in the modern era. I guess the director is going to get his disgusting dream of inukag/moroha having a picnic with sesshomaru, his child bride, and the twins at the end of yashamine.
Oh yes, I agree with you!!! I wish the twins would have stayed in the modern era cause Sota is the perfect father compared to whatever is kept in the feudal era. 🙄
And yes, Sesshomaru is praised unnecessarily. Like the guy has hardly taken one hit from Kirinmaru's energy ball, and they expect the viewers to forget that he left the twins to roast in the fire. Or the fact that he left the three girls to fight with Kirinmaru, wow...
When I saw that sesshomaru was near death I was really hoping he would just die but of course I knew the possibility was low.
I am still hoping XD!!! Kirinmaru is about to fight Sesshomaru again; he needs to throw the energy ball again at Sesshomaru. We will see how Sesshomaru comes out alive, lmao!
I guess the director is going to get his disgusting dream of inukag/moroha having a picnic with sesshomaru, his child bride, and the twins at the end of yashamine.
I still believe Rin is the adoptive guardian figure for the twins. In the series, InuKag didn't get to raise Moroha. Similarly, I think the actual mother of the twins didn't get to raise the twins.
It would even make sense why the interviews keep shoving Rin's kindness on twins if she was the one who raised the kids just like Sota did in the absence of real parents.
Like I am sure this running feet has to of Rin's.(Season 1, OP 2)

But I was hoping for a high possibility for the twins staying in the modern era.
I still believe they will get to stay in the modern era because of Sota and Moe’s dialogue:

A protective!Inudad drabble
I actually wrote this a couple weeks ago, but I was inspired to post it today because of all the amazing Inudad posts/headcannons/art that are going around. Specifically, this post by @littlepumkinseed , as well as this amazing fanart by @beanyboobee!
This is just a random quick oneshot I thought of, because we all know Inuyasha would be the overprotective “don’t touch my daughter or I’ll kill you” type of dad. I wondered what he would be like if Moroha and Hisui had to go on an extended demon-slaying mission alone. He’d probably be freaking out because of how well he knows Miroku and his lechery. But I also wanted to touch on Moroha’s reaction and the traits she inherited from her father. Plus I couldn’t help myself and threw in a tiny bit of Inukag fluff at the end.
This is canon-divergent from Yashahime because none of the families were ever separated and Moroha works with Hisui as a demon slayer.
I threw this together pretty quickly, so it might not have the best writing/editing/formatting etc. I’ve actually never posted anything I’ve written in any fandom before, but I felt like sharing this so here goes!
----------------------------
Kagome and Moroha bustled around their family hut, gathering last-minute herbs and food and double checking that Moroha had everything ready for her upcoming journey with Hisui. Inuyasha stood in the corner with his arms crossed and an irritated look on his face. He tapped his foot on the ground and looked up as Hisui entered the hut.
“Good morning, Kagome, Inuyasha” he said cheerfully while nodding in their direction. “Ready to go, Moroha?”
“Yup, just about!” She answered, throwing a few more items into her rucksack.
Inuyasha watched from the corner, looking Hisui up and down. His best friend’s son was handsome, confident, and strong. He had known him since he was born, but that didn’t make him feel any better about the situation. Anyone taking his daughter away from him was automatically a threat.
Moroha tied the strings of her rucksack and slung it over her shoulder. She rested her hand on her sword that was sheathed at her side. “Alright, I think I have everything. Let’s go!” She turned to her parents. “Bye mom and dad, we’ll be back in a few days or so! Love you!”
Kagome hugged her daughter. “Love you too. Please be safe and look out for each other!”
Inuyasha couldn’t stand it, he had to say something. He emerged from the corner to stand in the middle of the hut.
“Hang on a minute.”
Moroha and Hisui were already halfway out the door but stopped dead in their tracks at his commanding tone. Moroha turned around slowly and scowled at her father, seemingly already knowing what was coming.
“Tell me exactly what it is you two are doing again?”
Moroha rolled her eyes. “I’ve already told you a million times, there is a remote village that requested our help with slaying a demon.”
“Uh-huh. And why is it that the two of you are going alone?” Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at them.
“Because everyone else on our team is busy with other missions!” Moroha glared at her father. They had already been through this.
“Is there a problem, Uncle Inuyasha?” Hisui asked innocently.
Inuyasha addressed Hisui directly. “Don’t get me wrong, kid, I like you and all. I’ve known you since you were born. But let’s just say that I know your father pretty damn well too. I know how he can be...with women. I don’t know what kinds of things he might have taught you, but if you so much as think a single lecherous thought about my daughter, so help me I’ll...” He raised his claws in front of him in a menacing way.
Kagome stepped in front of him and put her hands on Inuyasha’s chest. “Inuyasha, calm down! Miroku has gotten much better since he married Sango, you know that. They will be fine!”
Inuyasha looked around Kagome to continue glaring at Hisui. “Whatever. Just don’t try anything funny with her, got it? Or you’ll have me to answer to.” He cracked his knuckles to emphasize his point. Kagome rolled her eyes.
Moroha looked exasperated and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. “Dad! It’s not like that! Plus, you already know I can take care of myself.” She smiled slightly and rested her hand on the handle of her sword.
“If he tries anything…” She unsheathed her sword and swung it around to rest flush against Hisui’s wrist in one swift motion. “...I’ll cut his hands clean off!” Hisui looked terrified, but Moroha just laughed gleefully and put her sword back in its sheath.
Inuyasha laughed too, feeling a little bit better. “Heh, that’s my girl!” He smiled and clapped a hand on her shoulder. “Alright, have fun you two...but not too much fun.” He shot one last glare at Hisui, who still looked a little freaked out by Moroha and Inuyasha laughing at the thought of cutting his hands off.
“Oh and be careful fighting that demon,” Inuyasha added as an afterthought.
“Don’t worry so much, Dad, we’ll be fine,” Moroha said cheerfully. She stood on her tiptoes to give her father a quick kiss on the cheek before turning to leave with Hisui.
As they walked out of the hut, Kagome sighed and shook her head, her hands still lightly resting on her husband’s chest from her earlier attempt to keep him in line.
He growled a little and asked, “What?”
“I just wish you hadn’t passed some of your more violent tendencies onto our daughter is all.” Kagome gave Inuyasha a look and his ears flattened slightly against his head. He knew he had maybe given her some bad habits, but he couldn’t help but be overprotective of his little girl. He was constantly battling with the urge to tear apart anyone who so much as looked at her wrong.
Kagome saw the guilt flash across his face and decided to ease up a bit. “But I guess I am glad that I don’t have to worry about her so much. She clearly knows how to take care of herself because of you. We’re pretty lucky to have you watching out for us all the time” Kagome smiled and imitated Moroha by standing on her tiptoes to kiss Inuyasha on the cheek.
Inuyasha blushed a little and wrapped his arms around his wife, pulling her into his chest. Maybe I’m not always the perfect father, he thought, but at least I have two perfect girls in my life.

So that other anon csa survivor is glad that they " interpreted the relationship correctly". They are glad their trauma is so bad that they can't look at an adult and a child without seeing implications of romance/sexual relationship? That because of what happened to them, they are incapable of watching an adult caring for a child and see an innocent familiar bond and nothing else? Call me crazy but sounds like a weird thing to be glad about. *Jouheki-chan*
Ive said this already but we need to leave CSA survivors out of the conversation. How we cope is vast and Im not going to shit over thier coping mechanisms. I see us sharing our stories and that is okay. However we too are divided on this topic. Im not going to entertain bashing someone for their ship as a coping mechanism.
I will say they see Sessrin through rose coloured glasses. Sesshomaru is the perfect gentlemen. He never had a thought of Rin until one days he realized she was such w beautiful woman and he was in love with her. As doew Rin. It only magically turns romantic when shes older. Its all love, respect, Rins own choices and poor old Sesshomaru is just helpless and falls along with her.
This was in the shippers mind the way you get the platonic familial bond and the romantic one. It doesnt work like that. Canon sessrin does not work like that.
• He continued to visit and bring gifts. Gifts that are claimed as courting gifts
• the proposal cd which was satire is now used as accepted canon
•the retconning of her accepted age to make it seem like she might be older than the accepted 8 years old.
•how soon he married and knocked her up. If she bleeds she breeds much?
•the constant reminders that Rin is and was a child when they met
•the opening where its compared to Inukag. Its alluding when they fell in love. His holding her child body in his arms.
•her being a vulnerable young girl when they met with no family what so ever
•the constant child promotional content
•the fact that she is still a girl at that start of this.
•the fact that Rin has little characterization outside of being his wife and baby mom. Who is adult Rin?
•the og cast just being okay with it all when previous they gave miroku (and to a lesser extent koga) shit for it
•the tone deaf 13 year old episode
If Rin had been 18-20, just getting married to Sesshomaru, if the opening had been adult rin and sess in romantic situations, if all the promotional material had been for adult rin us antis still wouldnt like it. However I think we would have to reach for arguments on grooming. Instead sunrise handed up the information on a silver platter. They didnt want us to think about Rin as an adult. They kept showing us kid Rin. They kept saying its a mystery.
The only mystery is how anyone thought this was going to fly. Making sessrin canon was always going to cause issues. They just made it the worst way possible.
I expected Sessrin. I hoped it wasn’t but i expected it. I just didn’t expect how awfully blatant it was going to be about the grooming aspects. I thought they would gloss over it entirely, not gaslight us into accepting it.
Oh nooo shes older! Her age never stated..
