Why do I always end up attaching to the character that fandom is just absolutely determined to misunderstand? Fandom does that to every character to some degree. But inevitably when I get attached to to one, the fandom behaves as if he’s the polar opposite to his canon version. Everyone is welcome to their own interpretations and I don’t expect everyone to have the exact version of the character in their head that I do. But sometimes fandom just goes off the deep end.

Back when I was into Thor was the worst. I had people coming to me directly to accuse me of supporting a bully. Or deciding he was a stupid jock type. Or reducing him to that moment in the diner where he smashed the mug. When in truth he’s a deep and complex character full of love and compassion who was prone to righteous anger at times. Someone willing to sacrifice his own life for people he barely knew to protect them from his younger brother’s tantrum.

And now we have Terzo. Just using that latest reply I got. Where did you get the idea he was a hedonist? Just because someone talks about seeking out or enjoying various pleasures in life doesn’t mean that’s their core deal. If any of the Papas was shown to be a hedonist, it was Secondo. We never saw Terzo partying in Vegas. It’s like people heard his lead up to Monstance Clock and saw him wiggling his hips and just decided that’s all he was. Completely ignoring everything else we’ve been told about him. Ignoring the themes in his arc of music and videos. Forgetting that he was the only Papa forcibly removed from his post. While on stage. Even Secondo, who was basically fired, was given the opportunity to step down and formally hand over the title. But not Terzo.

His themes are all about ambition. About letting go of what’s safe and comfortable. That to fall from the sterile towers you’ve lived in is not damnation, but freedom. The very concept of learning to fly. To gain anything worthwhile you have to be willing to be hurt. There’s conflict and tension everywhere in his stuff.

Just look at the Square Hammer video. There’s a lot of different ways to interpret what’s going on, but there is without a doubt a conflict inherent to Terzo there. Like he notices something is wrong before everyone else, even. Regardless of how you view it, that’s not the depiction of a hedonist.

Even more so, the events in From the Pinnacle to the Pit. A young man is punished for not conforming. He is misled into thinking he will instead be granted some great power, that he is special. But it’s a ruse and he’s not actually in control. He literally falls, sacrificing himself in order to rise and give the power he’d been granted to the people below. It’s obviously a lot of metaphor and symbolism. But like with so many things it’s still indicative of Terzo as a character.

I will never understand the fandom urge to reduce a character down to a trait they don’t even have. They’re flattened down so much they’re one dimensional. Erasing all of the beautiful complexity that makes the character interesting in the first place. Having been given only a sketch of the character, fandom could invent and explore with great freedom and have a beautifully complicated character. Instead they took that sketch and reduced it to nothing but a few incoherent scribbles. And that makes me so very sad.

Making Heads Turn 🫨

Jason had become a father to a little baby boy, taking him in when he found the poor thing on the streets, in a cardboard box, wrapped in a space themed blanket.

While the obstacles a new parent goes through is tough. He knows it's worth it to have Danny, his baby, his son in his life. He doesn't regret adopting him.

Danny is now at the stage of his little life that he babbles and giggles, Jason always had fun having a conversation with his baby. Although Jason's sure that his hair is getting whiter with the chaos Danny brings now ever since Danny's baby brain realized that he can CRAWL to PLACES >:D

However this new development... is a little strange.

Whenever Jason puts Danny down in his crib to make dinner or any other important errand. Danny will begin to babble to the air, as if his little tyke is trying to talk to someone, making grabbing hands and scooching over to grab someone's attention.

It sent a slight shiver down his spine...

Ever since he made his introduction to Gotham as Red Hood, for the first time to those gang leaders with the bang of the AK-47. Taking over the Gotham underworld by storm with anger and precision.

He always felt a chill down his spine... When he was alone, yet... the Pit Madness flared everytime, making him feel enraged and paranoid. As if he was just waiting for a fight... for a confrontation...

Being alone in his apartment, having nightmares, more like repressed memories of what he had done... Lots of things, but for some reason—his mind... keeps going back to the moment he threw that duffel bag at the table infront of the gang leaders that night... the night he went after the lieutenants, taking their heads.

He doesn't know why.

But ever since the precious cargo that was his baby Danny, arrived in his life. That all went away as he took care, fed, and loved his baby boy.

Jason never had an episode with Danny; he couldn't bare the thought of hurting the child.

Jason was even having less episodes when he was with the Bats!

The chills; however, Jason still feels them occasionally... but they would always disappear the moment Danny would demand attention or to nap.

And instead he would feel something else hang over his baby everytime Danny slept peacefully...

Second ever DPxDC prompt that I've ALSO been getting brainrot over ❤️ I'm having fun 😄

Basically this prompt idea is Jason adopting a baby Danny, while seemingly unaware that he's being haunted/watched by the people's he's killed to become a crime lord. More specifically, being haunted by the heads/headless ghosts of the lieutenants Jason killed as Red Hood.

While Jason can't seem to see them, he can feel 'chills' from them. Danny, however, CAN see them mostly because I based this on that thing where babies/toddlers can see spirits in those typical YouTube videos that list ToP 5 ScArY gHOstZ VidEOz!1!1

Whatever happened though, this causes the ghosts to instead focus more on Danny than on Jason.

How much will Jason freak the fuck out when he finds out? Who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Although Danny is absolutely having fun here ^^

Anyways, I might add extra stuff soon to this!

Thoughts on the Typhlosion allegations/pokemon teraleaks?

Okay, here’s what I’ll say about that. (And fair warning, it is nothing positive)

I think the fandoms reaction to these “leaks” has been absolutely ridiculous. They are not canon, they do not change pre-existing information present in the games and anime. Concept art is interesting, but things that were scrapped and did not appear in the actual media should not be regarded as fact.

Especially the Typhlosion thing, it’s like if jk Rowling said ‘oh yeah at one point in the writing process I thought Harry Potter would be a girl, but I changed my mind’ and the fandom went ‘oh my god Harry’s been a girl this whole time!’ Like no, a lot of work and ideas go into the concept and development of works like these, and then creators pick and choose the best of their ideas and use that, but I think it’s very problematic to judge them on the concepts that they themselves already decided weren’t good enough to use.

I have very strict opinions about what counts as canon, and that very simply is ‘what is in the work itself’. Unused concepts, things a creator said years later online, and really popular headcanons don’t count. They’ll never count, sorry but that’s not how language works, you can’t just redefine canon to encompass anything that maybe could have been a part of the project. It can be super neat to look at what changes could have been made, but it needs to be understood that that does not impact what the actual game is like.

This Typhlosion thing especially, it *could* be neat if people just took the scrapped stories to go “oh yeah the Pokémon world could have had myths and legends similar to our own! That will be interesting to explore in fan works!” But that’s not what the majority of people did. Instead, people took it to mean that somehow all Typhlosion are secretly evil and shouldn’t be left alone with children and anyone who has one or likes that Pokémon should be ridiculed based on nothing.

Because the stuff that in those leaks (baring things about unreleased games) are nothing. Looking at them in the sense of seeing ‘How It’s Made’ is interesting, fine go for it yeah sure, but they have absolutely no bearing on the actual franchise itself. And I have no patience for the people taking them as gospel and insisting they be considered more true over the actual canon.

Mate it doesn't exactly come naturally ok. My agoraphobic ass is, by default, spectacularly off-putting, a terrible conversationalist and account of hating having to make conversations, and really abrasive because "why are you still talking" and "so can I stop the conversation like, now?" is always on the tip of my tongue and will jump out of my mouth if I don't clamp down on it.

I think some people naturally have people skills ? But also many just LEARN them, the way you learn any skill. And you can have good people skills without enjoying interacting with people. You can have decent people skills even when conversation and people still does not make sense. You can absolutely bullshit your way into people skills because a lot of it is surface-level interactions that are virtually always the same. Lots of books, workbooks and manuals today will breakdown how to hold a conversation in various environments - and learning how to do it, even if I don't enjoy it and it still makes very little sense to me why we do things that way and it is still stressful and I would much rather NOT do any of it is a LIFESAVER.

What I am saying is, treat "people skills" like "basic cooking skills" or "cleaning skills". It doesn't matter if you don't enjoy it, if you are not interested in digging deeper, if it doesn't come off naturally, if the result is not outstanding, whatever. You just need these basics to get by in life, and it will make your life so much more easier. Getting started in the hardest part, it's intimidating, and you are super aware that you do NOT have the skills that every seems to have. Cooking skills approach: start small, start somewhere, read about it, and go from there.

on more bridgerton discourse I think it's fine if Penelope has a physical relation with Lord Debling (or not). The reason is not so she can get "revenge" on Colin but so Bridgerton can stop the cycle of "this man fucks so often and so frequently he's basically a god" and "woman who has never had a sexual encounter before him." it would be especially refreshing because Penelope is finding herself and what she wants. is it going to happen? no, but it's really weird to see everyone so obsessed with her chastity.

So I don't know if it was ever revealed how Duncan felt when we killed Malistaire all three times but I'm wondering if maybe some part of him could hate us for that too. Like you hear that and you go "but why. Malistaire was terrible and even Duncan knew that(?). Why would he hate you for getting rid of him."

But like I think it's so....... interesting in a very, very, very sad way how Duncan so easily latches onto anyone who directly feeds into his delusions of grandeur. And that's no fault of his own that he was manipulated by the nasty Schism but when you think about how desperately clung to the idea that Malistaire, easily one of the greatest necromancers any of us had ever heard of (at that time), somehow actually recognized Duncan's talents (even when canon supports that Duncan wasn't all that talented, at least no more than the next necromancer) and then praised him for it so often that Duncan believed that he would be the next Death Professor is. I mean ☹️

So like with that mindset I unfortunately feel like it would be quite easy to twist even Malistaire's death as something that's horrible and awful and all our fault. ESPECIALLY if the Schism was feeding into Duncan's already broken mind and shattered ego and was constantly telling him that everything bad that ever happened to him ever in his life was Our Fault. That's like a realistic conclusion that someone like Duncan could come to

And like, at this point in time, are Malistaire's crimes even a factor in how he thinks????? Was Duncan ever able to separate Malistaire's talent and skills and prowess from the terrible and awful things he did? If Duncan wasn't able to consciously tell that distinction in the first place I can't imagine it would be any better during the years he was being manipulated and isolated and lied to

Like in Duncan's mind it probably isn't, "maybe I shouldn't idolize a national criminal, or idolize anyone at all for that matter, and aspire to be like someone so harmful when I can recognize my own talent and build from there" it's probably more like, "you (the wizard) permanently got rid of a brilliant mind, an innocent person who just made a few mistakes, and someone who believed in me no matter what just so that you could be the better than me and loved by everyone else" and that's! very sad actually!
