Jasnah broke up with Hoid?!! I guess I saw that comming, but I wasn't expecting for it to happen just before she went to Thaylenn City. Well, I guess this is my oportunity to fulfill the promise I made about talking about those two more seriously.

I must say I was kinda expecting for them to not last long, specially since that first Jasnah pov on the second day of Wind and truth. But, at the same time I guess I didn't want it to happen because their dynamics are so interesting!!! Probably the coolest ones in the series, and I'm a bit sad that they weren't explored as much as they could've.

I think my favourite thing about them was that their relationship was more centered in intellectuality: debating about serious topics and trying to come together to solutions for stuff... I've always thought that would be the coolest way ever to share your life with someone.

But anyway, many things were also really wrong about their relationship. The fact that Hoid was constantly hiding information from her obviusly didn't help build trust from any of the people involved. But also, and most importantly, I always thought that the age gap was really bad. I know that he's an inmortal being, but that's kinda the point. Someone who's lived over 10000 years will think some things that a normal person cares about are trivial, he's got way more experience in life, and it always leads to power imbalance, which, again, is not good at all for a relationship.

So yeah, I don't think they made a good couple but they could be very powerful if they worked together. They still can, which is pretty cool, and I hope they do, only with less secretism and no romantic intententions.

Regardless of my actual opinion, the teen romance novel-esque argument that Joshua is 90 years old at the time of TWEWY would make JoshNeku infinitely funnier to me. Nearly a century of existing and Joshua has not learned one single iota of emotional maturity in any of it. Immortal brat.

There's no way he's ever living this down. Neku learns in three weeks what took Joshua decades. He learns how long Joshua has been around and starts addressing him exclusively as "grandpa" until it loses its effect and therefore its shine. He asks who gives Josh his sponge baths now that Kitaniji's out of the picture. Joshua, who hasn't aged physically in 75 years, mentally in 80, and emotionally in 87, would be incredibly susceptible to these insinuations from his fifteen year old boyfriend, who has this sense of humour honestly because he's still human fifteen as opposed to dead godling fifteen.

Joshua can't come onto him anymore because Neku will ask if he's sure sure he won't break a hip. Neku insists he's the sugar baby and only here for the money and assets because Joshua's personality is nothing to call home about. Neku answers Joshua on the phone with "what's up, cradle robber?" As you all know, I love looking for simmers who do sim requests. I follow the tag and check it almost everyday. Recently, I saw a new post announcing they were doing sim requests. I was excited, of course, so I went to their profile. They are 17. I am <25 and >30. Do you ever have the terrible feeling where you're watching a TV show and you think they're foreshadowing something? And you're like "No. Stop" *Waves hand at tv* "Stop all of this right now."

In this case it's two characters and they're very lightly contrasting their "friendship" (I put in quotes because it's more like enemies to reluctant allies) with the existing pairing one of the couples are in. It's not explicitly, and I don't even think they're even strongly hinting at it yet. But every step taken in the last 2 episodes could easily lead to this theory being true and this couple becoming canon (and worse yet, potentially endgame, because there's not that many episodes left). And I have never wanted a ship less in my life.

The second example is extra delulu, but i've seen even radfems get pissed at JKR for the age gaps. I've never understood why that is such a big deal for some people. Sure, in real life an age gap can be a red flag, but ultimately what makes a relationship toxic and abusive is a combinaison of multiple factors. And here we are talking about fictional characters. We know that neither Lupin nor Bill is going to turn out to be an abusive prick – well, Lupin is kind of a prick here for a bit actually, but not in a way that's really tied to being a man in a relationship with a younger woman – because they're Good Guys™; as in "the narrative says so." It's obviously not *the same* as real life relationships, in which you can never really know who people are, so an age gap can be something to watch out for.
