It's funny, I've always rolled my eyes at shows like Grey's where the main characters in a workplace setting are always paired up with each other because it seems so ridiculous, but LS deciding not to do that has just given them a different issue. I'm not saying I want them to pair up Owen and Tommy or Marjan and Paul, but I don't see how they can keep these new couples going when one half of each of them just isn't that important to the central premise of the show. And tbh, DB Woodside is too good an actor to stay as a guest star showing up a few times a season. He should be booked as a regular on his own show, and the minute he (or any of the others) is they'll probably leave anyway.
No you're so right about that. And you know what I can't stand at all?? When a show has a female character date multiple male members of the core group and somehow they're all still besties (Friends, HIMYM, Parks and Rec, Community, etc.) So I am genuinely happy they haven't done that in LS. But bringing in outside love interests does for sure cause it's own issues, with these side characters never really getting the development that would make them satisfying characters. I do not know what the right answer is clearly. It might just be impossible to please me 😂

Desires: Lucifer season 5 on Netflix
Created: August 21, 2020. Last Modified: August 22, 2020.
Preface: Alright my Lucis, here’s the sitch: it’s been a minute. Life got a bit chaotic I wasn’t able to start season five quite on time when it premiered on August 21st because I haven’t finished the great 2020 Lucifer rewatch. I’m nearly done however and should be able to jump into it either later today or tomorrow, which is why beforehand I want to — as I’ve traditionally done for a few seasons — create a desires list and keep a tally throughout the season to see how many are met. I am going to try to pace myself, not binge, and watch a single episode a day so don’t spoil me. Likewise I will tag my spoilers. Here we go... #21DaysofLucifer
Season 3 and 4 Roundout - Desires Fulfilled / Questions Answered
✔We’ve seen other demons “like Maze” and a bit of what havoc they can reek. Well sort of. To be quite frank, although it was cool to see them possess the recently deceased, it wasn’t as impending doom as I was expecting. They didn’t seem nearly as disciplined or intimidating as Mazikeen, even Dromos, more bored and desperate.
✔ We’ve seen a little more or the heavenly host in Remiel. Remi was cool, if a bit intense. Her character, and her affinity to Amenadiel was a nice foil to see how far his character has come in evolution. But again like Uriel was for Lucifer, she kind of became a driving force character device to push Amenadiel’s growth. So I wonder if we’ll get to see more of her or not.
✔ (s3) The backstory of Lucifer’s arrival in LA, finding LUX, and making a deal with Amenadiel.
✔ (s3) Cain finally went to hell, YES! Not that I didn’t like Marcus Pierce/Tom Welling, there were some great interactions there, but I just think he was a wishy-washy antagonist based on how he was written and I can’t wait to trade up for Michael.
✔ Maze finally had some happiness and attachment to this silly mortal coil and it slipped away! Why Eve why? I love Maze’s bonding with humans, Linda, Trixie, Chloe. But I love that after a Millennia of serving, and then watching Amenadiel and Linda be happy in a family unit, that she might actually make her own and my hopes were dashed.
Things we got that we didn’t even know we wanted. SO GOOD:
Season 4 ep 8: Amenadiel bonding with Caleb and confronting community violence, police brutality, and systemic racism. It was a rough episode to be sure, but absolutely needed,
Chloe talking Lucifer down and out of a self-hatred spiral and his transformation into full-fledged devil and back again.
Lucifer playing Creep on repeat while missing the detective (even after insisting in a therapy session that “he’s not a teenager playing Adele on repeat) and Mr. Said Out B**** trying to rob Lucifer and gun point and ultimately get rich. What a fun twist.
The Dan and Maze Los X’s fight. They are wicked good at laying down the hurt on the criminal element and I was wondering when they’d pair up again after dispatching Warden Perry.
The devil in a bar fight! I mean, it’s only fair since the ladies had their brawl. I love how this fight sequence was filmed in bursts of slo-mo from various angles, involved everything from fists, to tasers, knives, bottles, and the infamous pool cue, and they picked the perfect song for pacing (Jake Bugg, Lightning Bolt, could listen to it all day on repeat.)
Time for all good demons to go home / Enough, you will bow down to your king. Go home! (aka appropriate use of Devilish intimidation face)
Amenadiel vs Remi
A Rocky montage with Lucifer and Amenadiel / Amenadiel’s face the first time Lucifer drives the Corvette
Lucifer at the roller derby
Chloe the YA fangirl
Maze teaching Trixie about knives, with each handle decorated in a different toy.
Amenadiel and Chloe catching up: your father is so proud of you. Like and angel BOSS!
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
★ (s3) Amenadiel taking Charlotte home
★ Dan being comforted in his grief by Amenadiel
★ Amenadiel’s wrath and the brotherly duo tag team to lay the hurt on the drug dealer that got Charlie killed. It’s been a while since we’ve seen warrior angel ready to dispatch anyone in his way. And it was glorious!
★ (s3) Lucifer’s almost driving lesson with Trixie “Morningstar”
★ (s3) Maze torturing Lucifer by making him think he’s the Angel of San Bernadino
★ (s3) Amenadiel and Lina helping to dispose of Lucifer’s wings
★ Lucifer kicking Julian, Tiernan’s son, through a glass pane window
★ The goodbye kiss between Lucifer and Chloe
DIDN’T LIKE:
☒ (s3) Cain playing guitar and singing. What is he, a crime lord, a top cop, or an act that the improv club wouldn’t take?
☒ Eve. I liked Eve, but we mostly got to see one side of her around Lucifer, and a kind of floundering an confused side when she was with Maze. The side that I would have liked to see more of was the maternal side that came out when she briefly talked about Abel or was interrogated by Trixie. That made her more layered.
☒ Father Kinley. That dude is just meh.
☒ Dan’s broken heart and rebounding with Ella. Don’t get me wrong, its a good arc, but I don’t see it lasting
☒ (s3) Abel and Reese. Those were two side stories I could have done without, although they had great moments of humor. I quite enjoyed Reese’s character, and although I didn’t like Abel Lucifer’s stick-figure comic illustration of Cain fighting with him over a rock was quite enjoyable.
WHAT I TRULY DESIRE: SINFUL SEASON 5, my BURNING QUESTIONS, and SPECULATIONS
Obviously, don’t spoil anything for me, but if any of my desires end up coming true in any of the first eight episodes maybe drop me a hint in the comments...
A big time jump. We need to see the lasting impact of Lucifer’s absence. I know that time in hell works differently per that episode where Lucifer saved Chloe and almost got stuck in a loop, but we still need enough time to elapse that the impact is felt on the mortal side. Or, we need to see the passage of time through a series of events without Lucifer, like a montage of character development. At least a year or so, if for no other reason then Trixie is growing up and I actually want to see her take driving lessons with Lucifer.
Last season Maze gave baby Charlie a gift, something she’d wished she’d had growing up, and previously had alluded to the language of demons, her many siblings, and teased her mother, the mother of all demons. Will we finally get to meet Maze’s mom Lilith (or however they address her)? And, in spite of Mazikeen’s found family, she still has restlessness and abandonment issues. Will her mom finally finally bring her peace, or will clashing with her resolidify Maze’s purpose on earth?
A Decker/Mazikeen team-up or girls night out 2.0 would always be appreciated. At this point its probably 4.0 if you count the bar fight and the bachelorette party.
Will we see tougher, scarier demons, or are they just warmup to the really scary depths of hell?
Speaking of hell, more hell. Tons of hell. I want to know the minutia of all the mechanics. If Lucifer’s gotta be down there in self-imposed exile, he may as well show us around. Pour us a drink.
Will Lucifer see Cain in Hell? Not that I’m dying to see more of “sad Cain” but it would be interesting to see a more dark or desperate or cunning side to him at least now that he’s actually neck deep in torment. Or, alternatively, I’m hedging my bets that he could be a good candidate to light the fire under Lucifer’s *** to get of hell back to the earthly realm. Even in hell, I’m betting Cain would have a soft spot for Chloe, and if news reached Lucifer that Michael were trying to abscond with his life and with Chloe, it would give Cain and Lucifer one last bit of “A-Hole brothers” common ground to bond over. Like “Brothers, am I right? Go kick, get Chloe back, I’ll still have enough guilt to torture me with in a few thousand years when you get back,”
Will Lucifer fall into peril in hell of once again potentially getting distracted and stuck in a hell loop? Will his servants be satisfied with his return? Will Amenadiel bust him out.
Mr. Said Out Bitch needs a role reprise. He’s been in every season opener 2-4, we’ve gotten to know his undergarments very well. Its high time we get to know his name and story. He’s put in the work!
Amenadiel should be running LUX in Lucifer's absence. We got a tease of that in previous seasons (remember when he asked what would Lucifer do?) its time for that to come to fruition. Plus, any excuse to put DB Woodside in a suit, just because he wears them so well. It would also be interesting if, after that tragedy he’s experienced, Amenadiel will start taking after Luci. Maybe not the punishing, not yet, but wanting to seek out evil and corruption. It has been teased since s1 “fall as I did.” Perhaps he’ll start developing a taste for his bother’s line of work whereas he found it repugnant in the early days
Dan and Maze or Dan and Ella pair up. Both Dan and Maze are due for some happiness.
An Azrael reboot, when need more of her. She’s the angel of Death for pity’s sake. I don’t know if the original actress is still available or if they would have to recast, or if the character concept by Netflix would even be the same, but I need Azrael to be capable of sweet and unassuming and on a coin flip downright menacing.
More of Lucifer as a godparent, bless! And maybe a cool montage of “cousin” Trixie and Lucifer co-babysitting Charlie please.
Whilst on the subject of Lucifer and parenting, and without putting Trixie too much into harm’s way, I need to see what “I would do anything to protect that little urchin” looks like. Trixstar ride or die.
Father Frank, come back! I need a cameo or recurrent role pleeeeease.
Trixie in every episode. This is non-negotiable, much like chocolate cake. Beatrice is an all-star. In fact, I’ve decided that when Dad/God finally does show up, Trixie needs to be the one to get to know him / introduce him first. She’s been captain on the celestial cheer squad for four seasons, she’s earned this.
Who's going to see through Michael's facade first? I mean, I know that trailer shows Maze torturing it out of him, but as far as intuition goes, I've got a 50/50 split between Trixie and Linda, with an honorable mention to Dan.
If Michael is Lucifer's twin, does he have the same angelic compulsion skill set? Or something different? And will it work on Chloe or is she universally immune?
A “be like Mike” pop-culture reference. ******Spoilers: ******* all the trailers have revealed Michael already, so they owe us this for letting the steam out.
As far as pop-culture, how many movie and TV references will we get from Lucifer and ensemble this year? I expect A-game, from sci-fi to 80s action, on par with the previous likes of Parent Trap, Star Wars, Home Alone, Kim Possible, and Rocky.
Will Amenadiel’s necklace make a reappearance, even after he put it around Caleb’s neck in the morgue? Heavenly artifacts have a way of causing trouble in this show.
Will what finally learn what, if any, significance there is to Lucifer’s ring? Again, as all my fictional writings will attest, I really kind of want it to be a stolen little trinket from him Dad.
Plot twist: will we get to see Hell and the silver city all in one season, or is that too devilishly good to ask? It would be intriguing if Lucifer fell from Heaven for rebelling and now some threat like, for example, the mother of demons would pose a threat to the gates such that Lucifer was called upon to defend them. Not expecting anything Endgame level with a host of Angels popping up like sorcerers...but it is food for the imagination.
Plot twist: will Michael, duplicitous twin that he is, be revealed as the reason that Lucifer does not lie and can’t stand liars? Will be get a Michael back story? Is he perhaps the true rebellious son? see: my original fan conjecture here.

Imada, as you can tell, knows how to reach us at that point where we believe that everything is up to be resolved and for Deckerstar to begin only to be halted mid-way. What you shouldn’t forget is that in 3x25 - Boo Normal this writer introduced us to Azrael and who knows it might be time for Ray Ray to make an appearance again although that’s an extremely wild speculation so treat it perhaps as a wishful thought than anything else.
Okay so, the sixth episode of Season 5 is called Bluballz and many may have hinted yet another unsuccessful Deckerstar ‘moment’ yet it is clearly also connected to the case so it is possible to carry a dual meaning.
First, some had mentioned that it might be a drug and in an episode where a rave happens, it’s true that it would have been a plausible explanation. The other explanation is the crime scene blue led balls. Unfortunately if swallowed they can be toxic but a bts says something about shooting so at the moment no matter of how the title is connected to the episode let’s keep in mind that A) Lucifer & Chloe were not lucky in 5x05 and B) that it’s directly related to the death of this episode’s victim.
As we have several locations to explore I believe for 5x06we need to start from the case and then how the story is progressing through that murder case.
We do know 4 things about the case.
First, we have the rave at night where the murder happens in the wee hours.
Second, almost before the sun is up Ella, Lucifer and Chloe are on the scene asking questions.
^As you can see there is some stiffness in both of their bodies and as we know that Ellis and Lauren can act that in a very good way I would assume that they are keeping their distance or they are perplexed.
^if you see the video she does not meet and hold his gaze.
Third, for some reason, LUX is used for a rave party either as a sting operation or most probably because Lucifer decided to step in and help. The other possibility is that the rave at the end happens after the case has been closed but as they were shooting for days and almost 16h per day I would say it most probably be placed in the middle of the episode.
Fourth, the arrest happens back to the Marina Del Ray where everything started so the story of that case comes in a full circle, yet we do not really care about the case itself but how it relates to our main story.
We have to note that in the bts we have Chloe and Lucifer seem a bit distant during their questioning on the murder scene. Chloe is uncomfortable as is Lucifer and Lucifer is almost too afraid to approach her in my opinion while she does not really hold his gaze. Whatever happened in 5x05 didn’t work on the contrary added a slight tension in Deckerstar. Nothing major in my opinion but it is enough for Chloe to need her space and her friends.
^Prencinct scenes in between!
Now we do know that the questioning also led Chloe and Lucifer (Lucifer had his Vette there) at a house at the WB lot yet what is more interesting for me is that they were close to the Jungle Backlot. It’s where the show “The Cabin” was shot in 4x02 but the vegetation is so good that it can be used for other projects as well. For example, if you go to the tour they will always mention that it was used for Jurassic Park :)
The reason why I’m so interested in the Jungle is because in a bts I saw some props that made me wonder if they were just there because they didn’t have any other space to put them or they mixed shots from the Jungle backlot and the stages. As the camera is turned to that golden object I would be wary and add it in my “They are still searching” speculation. For what you may ask but all I can tell you is that everything is connected. Unfortunately, their quest may turn an unexpected factor to the mix. If my speculation is correct then the “Our Mojo” also involves Charlie.
Now DB has been very excited with these episodes as I have as well mainly because it seems that Amenadiel is back in the very core of the series as he was in S1 while Charlie is growing and with crawling and teething other things come up as well. Perhaps wings, or powers. Perhaps… both.
^Linda’s house shooting Kevin is probably the one on the left side.
The scene though showed that it involved Amenadiel, Lucifer, Dan, Linda and Maze. Maze, as you may have noticed as a character, has remained quite elusive in the bts and the role it plays in this season but Charlie’s existence might be the key there or perhaps the 5x04 is. We shall see!
Speaking of Charlie we had him in a wonderful lion top and there have been some scenes at Linda’s house. Now while the girls are busy at LUX which we will talk about in a bit, the boys or more specifically Amenadiel and Dan have some scenes together. Perhaps the reason for the bracelet was not Lucifer’s idea but Amenadiel’s and as such you should be prepared on Dan knowing early on that something is off if not the whole truth.
Now one of the photos that make me wonder is the bts with their director and writer where Kevin has a weird doll on how left shoulder. Somehow it seems that time is running out and that makes sense as like with every other midseason finale or season finale the 3rd episode from the end gives us the route the next will follow. It sets the foundations if you like. Think of 1x11, 2x11, 2x16 or 3x08 & 3x22… The same happens in 4x08. There is always a chain of events that lead to the end and 5x06 will be no different.
We do know we have some Penthouse scenes due to Rafferty and Graham but the content of these is a bit unclear. During a tour the couch was a bit roughed up with the cushions displaced and all that but we simply have no idea why or what will happen there. Also the book we saw in 5x03 during the Clarkson interview it’s still there on the coffee table so I would once again place my money on that one.
^ I bet you didn't know that we have a new closet as it seems or even a bathroom as this may be either a towel hunger and to the left the shower curtain or an outfit hanger. I would bet on the bathroom set as for a hanger it seems a bit tall. ;) So... a shower scene is coming our way? Who knows...
Edit: I was thinking about this and I now believe it’s an outfit valet it’s just that the wall is drilled on is also a hidden door to the penthouse set...
Moving on we get to what caught our eye on this episode the Ladies Night Out. It’s the third time we see them getting together and this time they are determined to have fun. The theme seems to be dress as crazy as you can something that is supported by Maze’s choice who perhaps consider Ella a lunatic so she decides to dress like her… I do wonder if they they just went and took everything from Ella’s closet to be honest… Although the net stocking might have been too much for Ella so no idea.
Yet what would drive Chloe and the girls to go out? I expect that Linda needs a break from motherhood even for one night while Maze explores another side of her. As many may suspect I suppose she is growing a soul there somewhere so keep an eye on her. Now Ella was always quirky if you remember the wigs in S3 so do not see anything wrong there but why Chloe?
Episode 5x05 must have left Chloe with a lot to think about herself. Whether she finds out about her miracle status or not she seems to be in her own path of self awareness and as we have seen the only time she takes rush decisions of that kind is because of Lucifer. So whatever happened in 5x05 as been interrupted but I do expect that by the end of 5x06 she will have reached a decision once again but the timing will not be perfect in 5x07 as more problems arise.
I should also mention that the setting of this episode does suggest that whatever Amenadiel, Lucifer and Kevin are up to is probably not known by Chloe and possibly by the rest of the leads aside perhaps Maze and even that is a big if. The reason of perhaps excluding Maze is because of a tangible connection that may aid or disrupt their plans yet that’s once again a speculation, yes based on actual spoilers but still a speculation on how an act will affect the rest of that plot. It is also why I connect in this episode Amenadiel with the Jungle set as well as with that set prop.
And finishing 5x06 it is funny as by the end of it a new set of problems will have begun and that includes of course a new threat. One supernatural in nature and the other as mundane as Earth killers come.
^Last but not least up to 5x06 the Hell set was still standing so they have plans for it... For which episode we simply do not know but always keep it as a Joker card and you never know in which round it will drop...
^I do love Rafferty!

Another Cats question. Since Rum Tum Tugger is my personal favorite, I gotta know...which actor was your favorite Tugger? And if you could choose anyone to play him in a future release, who would you choose?
grabs all CATS asks and shoves them into my greedy hungry face
thanks for indulging and encouraging me but haven’t you learned your lesson about egging me on?? Jonny still haunts.........
oof tho, hard to say. John Partridge is like.. the god tier Tugger. he made the most impact on me, ofc. having seen some bootlegs (and a few times after, to shed the JP bias), i can’t think of anyone that really gripped me. Tyler Hanes was a fun Tugger, he was cheeky and energetic; i enjoyed him! i’m glad i saw him
EDIT AGAIN: ok Tyler is hysterical i love his Tugger cuz he bullies Munkustrap whenever he can and i do love and appreciate when a Tugger gets up in a Munkustrap’s cookies and bullies the hell out of him. that’s top tier shit. i’ve seen some Tuggers floating around in the tags that mock and cause problems for Munkustraps and
thuds chest
that’s how it do.
funny, though.. RTT hasn’t been high on my list of favorite characters since the beginning. i’m here for Tugger/Misto, it was one of my main ships and it’s a special one. outside of it, i kind of struggle(d) to come around to Tugger. but yanno??? he’s been patient. i’m diggin him. respect
(and you of all people should know that my ego is so enormous that when i create my own version it’s all over lmao and i sure am wading deeper in a CATS swamp of character interpretation and worldbuilding, as one does)
i’m not familiar enough with musical theatre actors, and i’m going to assume you were looking for some bigger name, so we’ll go with that
rubs face
listen i’m on an Ewan McGregor kick right now because that bitch has been really pandering to me in the past year or so
we can also go with Colin O’Donoghue, Lee Pace (tho i feel like he’d do better somewhere else), Peter Serafinowicz for a more camp/comedic spin, ngl Ryan Reynolds would probably make an incredible fuck-all Tugger so not a bad idea, DB Woodside, and honorable mention, Michael Shannon.
i’m looking at these guys bc they’d create very different Tuggers and who knows if they’d even keep some characteristics that’ve been established (that includes the sex appeal/oozing off them/flirtatious nature/etc). i’m a fan of unexpected choices and interpretations and as every actor does, they can bring interesting and diverse ideas to the character.
Javier Bardem as Macavity tho. mmmmghhh now that’s some big braining.
EDIT: hold up i thought about it, yeah i’ll add Bardem to the Tugger list too, definitely
#ches writes#ches writes stuff#tugger#cats the musical#macavity#yeah come on you know me by now#it can only go unconventional places#thank u for ur interest :3c#it tickles me silly#very appreciative!!! i'm having a horrible time#jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear

Lucifer - ‘Super Bad Boyfriend' Review
"Why do I hate myself so much?"
This episode made me think about why Lucifer is a difficult show to define.
Yes, it's fantasy; it's based on a comic about the Devil solving crimes in Los Angeles, after all. And yes, it's definitely funny, but it's not exactly a comedy. It's not a drama, either. The linchpin is a character study of Lucifer, and his struggle to define himself. Lucifer wants to be better than what he is. While strongly pulled toward hedonism and pleasure, Lucifer wants to right wrongs, to administer justice, which is what he does with Chloe.
Yet, much of this episode (that wasn't about Amenadiel, whom I'll address later) was about Lucifer finally realizing that he hates himself. It was never that he didn't like himself when he was with Eve – that was just a symptom. Throughout this episode, Lucifer kept expressing self-loathing. He finally admitted to Linda that God wasn't manipulating him; that he, Lucifer, brought it all on himself. I actually teared up when he asked Linda, "Why do I hate myself so much?" We all know his wings and his devil face are under his own subconscious control after all, a manifestation of Lucifer's self-hated.
At least this realization is progress. I want Lucifer to realize what we all know he really wants, which is to fight crime with Chloe, and to be worthy of her love. I don't think we're going to get that this season, though, because then the main emotional arc of the show would be over. Right?
Speaking of emotional arcs, Amenadiel's impending fatherhood made him realize that he's not just an ex-angel, he's an African American ex-angel. While DB Woodside did an absolutely marvelous job, it almost felt like this plot was too heavy and serious for a show like Lucifer, although I'd argue that it went well with Lucifer's realization.
That said, it was just like Amenadiel to try on fatherhood for size by helping Caleb, a young man who came to Lucifer for a huge favor – to get out from under a drug dealer named Tahir. Amenadiel is powerful and good, but he is still way too naïve about life on Earth, and he got Caleb killed. When Caleb told Amenadiel that he was going to crush being a dad, I could just feel the end coming. That scene at the morgue set to the powerful song "Take Me to the River" made me cry – especially when with a simple gesture, putting his priceless pendant around Caleb's neck, Amenadiel rejected God. I also really loved the moment when Amenadiel went after Tahir, and Lucifer knew immediately what Amenadiel intended, and backed him up. They don't always feel like brothers, but they did at that moment.
Eve had some wonderful moments this time. When Lucifer went all "bad boyfriend" in an attempt to get her to break up with him – beer and snack food, fantasy football, bingeing bad TV, kissing other women – she out-Lucifered Lucifer and did the same, right down to kissing the very same woman. The problem is, after all that, Lucifer still didn't want Eve. We're also getting the interesting message that Maze does.
Maze's little dating vignettes were really amusing and said a lot about what she really desires. Maze outright rejected the woman who looked and sounded exactly like herself, and then blew off a really hot guy with flowers to keep talking with Eve and telling her how awesome Eve is. It's clear as day that Maze is strongly attracted to Eve, while Eve is aware that Lucifer isn't good for her but isn't ready to let him go. Eve and Maze would make an interesting couple, wouldn't they?
And so would Ella and Dan. They had a couple of cute scenes together, the best of which was the two of them awkwardly reciting case details practically in unison. Will this turn out to be more than an awkward sexual encounter at work? I'm not sure how I feel about Ella and Dan as a couple, especially since I get this weird incest vibe because I can't help seeing Ella as a grown-up Trixie.
As usual, the case of the week complemented what was going on with the main characters. It was obvious from the beginning that Lexy "I got into Harvard" was the one to murder Ms. Baez. The point was that, like Lucifer, Lexy's boyfriend Nate allowed evil to happen because he wasn't being true to himself. Instead, he did what his super bad girlfriend wanted him to do.
Bits:
— The opener was really funny with a touch of sad, as Lucifer called in a favor with a doctor but couldn't tell him the truth about exactly what Lucifer wanted removed from his back.
— One of the strengths in this series is watching the unique female characters connect. It wasn't just Eve and Maze this time; Linda and Eve in couples therapy was great, especially since they connected around and despite Lucifer.
— Chloe always wears her hair confined at work, but leaves it loose when she tries to connect with Lucifer personally. Maybe this is where I should mention that I think Lauren German is stunning, even on television where everyone is gorgeous. Especially when her hair is out of the way and isn't softening the angles of her face, her eyes, eyebrows and cheekbones.
— Dan is feeling guilty about outing Lucifer to Tiernan, so he picked a fight with Maze so that she would hurt him, but she didn't. Another continuation of the self-loathing theme.
— Gold acting stars for both DB Woodside and Tom Ellis. They were both outstanding.
Quotes:
Chloe: "He told me about... a prophecy." Lucifer: "Right. What is it this time? Are frogs about to start falling from the sky or... perhaps winter is coming?"
Lucifer: "How does one specifically say nay to YEA?"
Linda: (to Eve) "You're the first woman ever. It's like meeting a dinosaur."
Amenadiel: "I know who did this." Lucifer: "I'll drive."
Four out of four celestial pendants.

Billie Doux loves good television and spends way too much time writing about it.

cs-aura-fluffer’s press release breakdown and analysis
I just wanted to share my thoughts and theories about what I think is going to happen in 3x14- My Brother’s Keeper based on the press release and the character’s motivations. Keep in mind that I don’t follow bts and spoilers as closely as some members in the fandom and I could be completely wrong so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
Without further ado, let’s get started. Here’s the original press release for 3x14
“When Chloe and Lucifer’s investigation into the murder of a diamond thief points to one of Ella’s brothers as the main suspect, Ella is driven to prove her brother’s innocence and recruits an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Linda is upset when Charlotte comes to her for help and Detective Pierce hashes out his issues with Amenadiel in the all-new “My Brother’s Keeper” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Feb. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (L-310) (TV-14 D, L, V) Cast: Tom Ellis as Lucifer, Lauren German as Chloe, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Kevin Alejandro as Dan, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin, Tricia Helfer as Charlotte, Aimee Garcia as Ella and Tom Welling as Marcus Pierce Guest Cast: Jackie Geary as Tiffany James, Ed Kerr as Don Zeikel, Rey Valentin as Jay Lopez and Anthony Pierre Christopher as Salesman”
Alright, now let’s break it down
“When Chloe and Lucifer’s investigation into the murder of a diamond thief points to one of Ella’s brothers as the main suspect, Ella is driven to prove her brother’s innocence…”
We know that Rey Valentin was cast as Jay Lopez, aka another one of Ella’s brothers. We know that Ella has 4 brothers as stated in 2x01 and I think it’s safe to assume that she’s the only girl in the bunch. We met her other brother Ricardo in 2x13 when Dan and Ella had to get the ZX3 to save Chloe’s life and we know that Ricardo was involved in some illegal activities like street racing. We also know that Ella used to steal cars, can pick locks, and has gotten banned from casinos in Vegas for counting cards (which isn’t technically illegal, just frowned upon).
Adding all that together combined with a few comments about her abuelita, we know that Ella and her family have committed a few crimes in the past so I’m guessing that Jay Lopez has also done some less than legal things in his past, which made him a prime suspect in this case. My best guess is that Jay has a history of jewel theft, which is why the police think he’s responsible for this theft BUT, I think that in this case he’s innocent, which is why Ella is so determined to prove it’s not him. Ella knows her family and she wouldn’t stick her neck out for her brother if he was guilty. Whether he’s being actively framed or if it’s just a coincidence that the police suspect him remains to be seen.
“…recruits an unlikely ally.“
My first thought when I saw this line of the press-release was ‘what characters aren’t involved in a side plot?’ because Lucifer episodes generally follow a pattern where the main set of characters is involved in a main plot and then they mix and match pairs of side characters who have a side quest that’s usually unrelated to the main, overarching plot. This led me to do process of elimination to see who’s left. It seems to me that Lucifer, Chloe, Marcus, and Amenadiel will be occupied with the main plot so that rules all of them out and it also mentions Charlotte and Linda will be involved in a different subplot so that eliminates them so that leaves Maze, Trixie and Dan as possibilities. The word ‘unlikely’ before ‘ally’ leads me to believe that it’s not Dan because he’s a police detective and investigating to see if a man is innocent or not is part of his job so we’re left with Maze or Trixie. I want to say Trixie since she would definitely fit the description of an unlikely ally and Ella said in the Instagram live video she did with Tom that she has some scenes with Scarlett coming up but I know that Ella and Maze are gonna have scenes together too based on the promo photos so it’s a toss up.
“Meanwhile, Linda is upset when Charlotte comes to her for help”
Based on 3x13, it’s clear that Charlotte is still struggling with getting her life back to normal after her trip to hell, she said as much to Maze so it’s no surprise that she’s going to seek therapy from our favorite psychiatrist. She thinks that Linda can help her work through some of the trauma that she’s still dealing with but has no idea that she has a history with Linda from when she was Mom. Linda, on the other hand, knows that Charlotte is not Mom anymore but it’s still very hard for her to get over the fact that she was flambé-d by Mom when she was in Charlotte’s body. Especially since Linda was nearly killed in her office by Mom, being in her office for therapy with someone who looks exactly like Her is bound to bring up some bad memories.
“Detective Pierce hashes out his issues with Amenadiel“
First, I’m guessing that “Detective Pierce” is just a typo and that he hasn’t been demoted from lieutenant. Now, we know based on the promo that there’s going to be a big fight scene with Marcus and Amenadiel and we’re led to believe that Amenadiel is simply trying to help kill Marcus but I have to believe that there’s more to it than that. I’m not entirely sure what issues Pierce and Amenadiel have; have they met before? Do they have a history together? I don’t know, but I do know that Amenadiel’s motivations for helping to try to kill Cain have to be different than Lucifer’s because he still thinks that he can win back his Father’s favor by being a good soldier so I doubt he would want to kill him as a “F— you” to his Dad. Maybe Cain hates Amenadiel because he’s so loyal to God and he hates God for cursing him so he just hates Amenadiel by proxy or perhaps Amenadiel acted as God’s emissary and placed the curse on Cain and Abel in the first place, ohhh that would be a twisty twist. Either way we’ll find out if I’m right or not on Monday.

We’ve been keeping our eye on Ms. Mosaku, noting her small but powerful turns in ITV’s Law and Order: UK (2010), Vera (2011), BBC’s Dancing on The Edge (2013), Channel 4’s Capital (2015), BBC’s Damilola: Our Loved Boy (2016), Netflix’s Black Mirror (2016) and Sky Atlantic’s Guerilla (2017). She has also been popping up as a lead in movies like I Am Slave (2010, still on Netflix), and smaller parts in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (2016). We jumped at the chance to see her in her latest drama, ITV’s latest essential viewing, Fearless.
Fearless will be the test of Mosaku’s true talent, if she’s able to hold her own in a lead role with heavyweight principal star Helen McCrory (Cherie Blair in The Queen, 2006, and The Special Relationship, 2010) and the third strong female lead, the Emmy-nominated American actress Robin Weigert (Deadwood, 2004-06, Jessica Jones, 2015).
The story is – Emma Banville (McCrory) is a human rights lawyer providing a roof over the head of the wife Miriam (Katrina McAdams) and son of her latest client, missing Syrian doctor Youssef Attar (Dhafer L’Abidine). She has an eye for detail and a reputation for the relentless pursuit of it, regularly braving the censure of the police, and the eye-rolls of her colleagues. She has the total support of lover and ex-paparazzo, Steve Livesy (John Bishop). When she receives an email from a married woman on her son’s 14th birthday, pleading the case of her ex-husband (and said child’s father), Banville is left impressed.
Kevin Russell (Sam Swainsbury) has been serving life, for the torture and murder of a teenage girl, which he insists he’s innocent of. His ex-wife, Annie Peterson (Rebecca Callard), has always believed him and at the end of a difficult interview with Russell, Banville is spurred into action. So begins her review of the original interview, confession tapes and transcripts, resulting her getting the conviction overturned and Russell released. Only then to be faced with a re-trial after damning new evidence emerges.
Mosaku’s Detective Chief Superintendent Olivia Greenwood of SO15 Counter-Intelligence, livid at developments, involves herself as Russell’s confession and subsequent conviction were the springboard of her stellar career. Cue mysterious transatlantic calls from a worried Sir Alistair McKinnon (Michael Gambon) to exasperated working mum Heather (Robin Weigert), morally shocking twists and turns, and a string of showdowns between our fabulous females. All of this, plus several absorbing parallel storylines which subtly speak to the times in which we live.
The press-filled audience was utterly silent during the screening, and collectively heaved a huge intake of breath after the series trailer ended. An enthusiastic, warm applause followed, once oxygen was allowed to circulate! I have the feeling that leading independent programme makers, Mammoth Screen has another hit on their hands for ITV. As Banville says, not devoid of feeling, “There’s nothing like a dead, white schoolgirl to advance a few careers...”
Mammoth gathered a great production team for this. Writer-producer Patrick Harbinson’s best known work has always shown the gritty realism of the world with the flair and polish of stylish US production. In espionage thriller 24 (2001-10), he wrote realistically in real-time for 7/24 episodes with a cast including a female president during his tenure, and superior African-American actors Dennis Haysbert as President David Palmer (2001-07), Penny Johnson Jerald as Sherry Palmer (2001-04) and DB Woodside as President Wayne Palmer (2003-07) before his time! The popularity and engagement with 24 may have seeped into the American consciousness enough to have contributed to making the Obamas possible.
With Homeland (2011-19), Harbinson humanised the plight of those caught in the complex, dysfunctional relationship between America and the Middle East in 10/48 episodes (2013-2017). With Fearless, he has managed to bring much of his experience to this uniquely British-feeling thriller, which combines politico-legal drama with the tease of conspiracy and terrorism balanced with relatable human stories.
Contrary to 24, Harbison has written a tightly plotted script which, although economical, avoids lazy plot holes and unbelievable leaps of intuition and coincidence, at least in the pilot. He has made Banville a razor-sharp intellect, devoid of showmanship or hubris, because she fundamentally understands that lives are at stake. McCrory makes us believe it. “She is old school,” McCrory said at the post-screening Q&A of the habits Banville indulges in and the car she drives, “She solves things in real time.” As unfashionable as they might now be, they have not been used as a weak attempt to allow her to ‘compete with the boys’ as other strong female leads have endured.
Director Pete Travis (City of Tiny Lights [1], 2016, Legacy TV movie 2013), also present at the Q&A, gelled perfectly with Harbinson’s storytelling, and kept his direction equally tight. His use of the many close-ups, he said, was an easy choice when supplied with the extraordinary faces and underlying accomplished talent with which he had to work. “It was really important not to have stereotypes wherever we were – not that we had any at the beginning [post-Brexit, pre-Trump], but [post-Trump], we realised we wanted each character to have a rich history… the complex nature of what it would be like to be… living in London and the way you could be targeted, whether you’re innocent or not …” Combined, the writing and directing team of Harbinson and Travis gives a master class in the much-quoted ‘show, don’t tell’. Combined with cinematographer Rasmus Arrildt, Travis has managed to change the scope of the revelations from the intimate to the wide-reaching with the use of just 2 cameras, and at least one hand-held! “I think it’s really important to let the camera facilitate the story,” he said. I think he felt a certain empathy with Banville, realised or not, and the end-product is the better for it.
Executive Producer Damien Timmer could be one of the most qualified producers in the country to have pulled this off to the promised standard. His CV includes NW, 2017, Poldark, 2016-17, Endeavour 2012-17, Victoria, 2016, Tripped, 2016, Agatha Christie’s Marple, 2004-13, Lewis, 2006-13, and Agatha Christie’s Poirot, 2003-13. These are all quintessentially British from different periods with different societal focuses. Here again, is another in Fearless. He is a quiet man who gives the impression of a huge passion for his work. In his more modern productions after his long and successful history with period pieces – Lewis, Tripped and NW, he has shown a willingness to move with the times.
In Lewis, he oversaw the casting of Angela Griffin as a DS in 12 episodes, Babou Ceesay as a DC in 2, Kemi-bo Jacobs as a WPC/DC in 2, and Steve Toussaint as a Chief Superintendent in 6, along with Ariyon Bakare (2), Richie Campbell (2), Joe Dixon (2), Peter de Jersey (2), Wil Johnson (2), Tosin Cole (2), and Pippa Bennet-Warner as a reporter (2), to name a few. In the uniquely British sci fi comedy series Tripped, Georgina Campbell handled multiple personas as part of the excellent, time travelling central cast. He took on Zadie Smith’s well-loved best-seller NW, a story written from multiple aspects of the black British perspective, and secured a strong cast in the fantastic Nikki Amuka-Bird [2] as principal, supported by central cast mates Richie Campbell, OT Fagbenle and Cyril Gueï.
Now, Timmer has given us possibly the first black female DCS on UK TV in Mosaku’s Olivia Greenwood – a policewoman at the top of her game, a complex character who doesn’t need to be liked to do her job in pursuing the truth, but who is reticent about her private life. Her ethnic origin is incidental, so Mosaku can really stretch her acting mettle without the usual racial restraints. There is no ‘Angry Black Woman’ here. Greenwood is so much more and allowed to show it. During the Q&A, Mosaku admitted to it being a new experience for her, though she has previously played a hapless detective constable in Vera and a traffic warden in Capital. This is a truly meaty role to which, if the pilot is anything to go by, she more than rises to meet. Greenwood’s cool, determined manner, as one who might have a lot to lose should Banville succeed, adds to the uncertainty of who is good, who is bad and whether the case of the tragic schoolgirl can possibly have any grey areas.
To my question on how the finished product made them each feel, Timmer said, “Really, really proud of making a grown up, contemporary piece for ITV… for a commercial network.”
McCrory said, “Playing Emma, who’s really quite an introverted character, I liked the fact that she doesn’t explain herself all the time… I’m genuinely very excited. I don’t like watching myself, and I don’t… I watch the drama around me, and that’s down the skill of this man [Timmer] and this man [Travis], Patrick and the rest of the cast. I really want to unleash Emma onto the world, on lots of cases! I hope the audience like her.”
Travis said, “[It’s] pretty much a dream job for me really. I’ve always wanted to do things that were about politics, but not overtly political… I think we do live is scary, dark times, and it’s nice to tell the story of a character that’ll hold a candle up and says,’ there’s a light here, it doesn’t have to be this bad’, I find that quite exciting.”
Mosaku said, “I really enjoyed watching it, it’s dead exciting… I really can’t wait to see the rest!”
Fearless also stars Sir Michael Gambon (The Viceroy’s House, 2017, Fortitude, 2015, 6/8 Harry Potters, 2004-11, Maigret 1992-93, The Singing Detective, 1986), Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica, 2004-09, series 1-3 Law and Order: UK, 2009-12, Marcella, 2011) and comedian John Bishop (Accused, 2012, Skins, 2009-10).

Lucifer 5x05 "Detective Amenadiel" reaction'd w/ spoilers
August 26th 2020
What, 57 phone calls and a billboard but no smoke signal, you stalker? Sky writer? Don't give her cause to call you a cheap SOB.
I get it, Lucifer is embracing his inner Phil Jackson. One of the psychology books on Linda's shelf perhaps.
She needs time buddy. You had 4 seasons.
See, told you, TIME! And a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t.
Father: "Hell no longer requires a warden! Come again? Good reason to drink at 7am. Is this Michael's doing," or a writers' shortcut to fast forward our central ship?
"I will punch you in your mysterious ways." One liner #1
Chloe: "For now I'm going to stick to police work and avoid anything God related." Cut the convent: ha! You want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
Ella's stop embarrassing me in front of the nuns" face is perfection!
This is the team up I never knew I wanted but have always desperately needed. The gift and the messenger.
Bracelet Bros ™ ftw.
"I can't slow down time like I used to" < Chloe's reaction. Man, I forgot what it was like to have that first season awe and wonder.
Once again, Rachael Harris is a gift. Her level of intense emotion is stunning.
Earthly charms apparently beat devilish ones. Lucifans have always known that loving DB Woodside is compulsory.
Lucifer: "I can't believe there's so much paperwork for a single convent... I mean they're nuns afterall. How many interesting things could happen to them?" / Dan: "These are all just the files on mother Angelica"
Dan: "It's like a gigantic puzzle only you don't know what the corner pieces are or what it's going to look like when it's done." / Lucifer: "you just described torture, definitely torture."
Dan: "Shortcuts are not the answer." Writer's room, is that your way of telling me that you're not taking shortcuts this season and all these neat, expedient tricks are a ruse? Please don't be too speedy with your plot evolutions.
Amenadiel: "Chloe and I make a good team, I can see why you enjoy working with her." hell-arious.
This feels familiar. There is definitely a Lucifer-father Frank parallel with Decker and the nuns.
Lucifer drinking spiked coffee out of Dan's number one dad cup again It's heavy on the irony. That's at least the second time we've seen the dad mug. Are they trying to tell us something? Are they trying to queue up Dad?
Dan: "Great work Lucifer" / Luci: "take that back."
What other pop music does Amenadiel listen to while drinking cosmopolitans?
"Adoption, yay or nay?" Mazikeen is so great I'm these kind of undercover stings. I can't decide which I like better, her being wife decoy with Chloe or with Linda.
Lucifer's sign of the cross looks like a pageant wave 🤣. I don't know why but when he does it, it reminds me of someone flipping the bird.
Grill those heavenly bros detective, handcuff them to the table! "Laid a blessing is not a euphemism?" 😂😅😆
"I am not even a person, I am a thing created for someone else." THAT STINGS.
A goat ate your alibi? Click #2
How much more West coast can we be with the goat yoga?
Ohhhhh, hello, that's a thought...hell no longer needs a warden now that Lilith died, maybe she went back and is keeping an eye on her demon brood. I guess we won't be seeing her again, at least not on the earthly plane. Scratch that potential interest for now.
Maze is going through such a rocky storyline, I really hope she finally gets some center, some rock, she seems very untethered.
No shortcuts. I am so glad Lucifer actually learned from Dan's example and Dan was actually proud of Lucifer. Now, as per usual, I bet they set that up in order to crush us later.
Chloe: "You make me sound like a sadist." I mean, you stuck it out with Lucifer.
Dan and Lucifer are giddy like school girls...omg they actually made a bracelet bros handshake.
Can we speak in private? DB Woodside has the perfect "watch me work" head bob. If he had hair I bet he would do a hairflip.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, Amenadiel needs to take back his rightful place as the right hand of God. Because damn son, Michael doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.
"You're the only mortal who sees [Lucifer] for who he truly is. You're not the gift, that is." Awww, That's a great way to put it Amenadude.
PS: Yes, Amenadiel's theories are always right and that's awesome. He was right about their self-actualization powers and Lucifer's appearance being tied to their feelings of worth. That being said, without downgrading his brilliance, dude didn't we already clear up this Chloe-Lucifer-vulnerability thing in season 1, and doesn't credit actually belong to Linda? Hasn't it already been blatantly obvious to Lucifans from the moment Linda said "Lucifer you're letting your guard down" and told him to stay away from Chloe, and he responded "but I don't want to." Of course Lucifer makes himself vulnerable because he loves her and he *chooses* to be with her. No need to spell it out because this is not news; Linda has a PhD in angel problems and Lucifans are intuitive AF. Case done been closed.
I hope they're not setting this up as a cheap writing out to make Luci invulnerable around Chloe selectively when he chooses. That crushes so many stakes.
Grade: 8/10 DETECTIVES!

Locations
Chloe’s Apartment - Maze & Trixie (There is all a Trixe-Lucifer scene)
Precinct - Dan, Lucifer and Ella. -Before the bracelets-
Pink Motel - Not a murder scene but I believe they question the owner as he is listed in the cast.
Warner Brothers Stars Hallow Set Area - Open Stages:
1) The Murder Scene - Dan, Ella, Lucifer & Chloe
2) Stage III - The room with the clowns. Prior to Halloween WB had built a clown maze for tourists and its workers although they didn’t the usual annual Halloween attraction but it was not the same one. However, I believe it may have been used for this episode nonetheless.
3) Stage Set - Hell set used as a Tv Series Prop although it acts as our actual Hell as well.
When an episode is shot at the lot it means it costs less money to be made still what it saved them on money it cost them on 1-2 days.
This episode is called from us “Diablo: The Tv Series Episode” and we call it that because that’s what it is. There is no AU here but something like 3x02 where you see our leads investigating a case which is related to a show. Now that show is VERY similar to Lucifer. Extremely so but we will talk about that in a bit.
First of all the main themes of this episode is Lucifer’s ongoing instability but also a problem that seems to tie him eventually to Dan. Dan’s issue in my opinion started either in the first episode but is gradually getting worse so in 5x03 Lucifer provides a temporary solution. But is that him or Amenadiel? As we know Chloe and Amenadiel work together for a bit in this episode.
As always in order to unravel this episode we will rely on the case of the week. Where does the murder takes place? At the WB lot actually, so be prepared to see it again like you did back in 3x26 yet that is a different area.
^Aimee on the left
They also shot at night at Stars Hallow Set.
We have some photos from Josh with Aimee and Kevin where you can clearly see that Dan does not wear the bracelet yet. Same goes with Lucifer’s bracelet at the beginning of the episode neither of them wears it and that makes sense.
Let’s talk now about the victim and the theme of the episode again. For some reason the murder is connected to a television show called ‘Diablo’. We know that because there are several hints and downright spoilers about that like the social media posts of some people which will not be posted for obvious reasons.
Diablo as a show has EVERYTHING Lucifer’s life has. Scratch that everything Lucifer as a show had in its first season down right to the… same poster. Yep!
So when I say everything what do I mean? I mean that there are the following characters who take the place of our main leads:
Lucifer = Diablo
Chloe Dacker = Detective Dancer
Maze = Blaze (male)
Dan Espinoza aka Det. Douche = Det. Dooffus
We do not know who else is featured but I would expect Linda, perhaps Trixie and Amenadiel to have their own counterparts.
^ Dancer was originally Chloe’s surname in the Kapinos Pilot do not be surprised is you see Linda being played by a Kim...
Yet who would do that? Who would make a Tv Show that resembles so much Lucifer’s life? My first thought was Ella but then I found a BTS about an Alex Lopez and I assumed he was one of her brothers taking advantage of her workalike stories. Although that may be true then how could anyone know how the actual Hell looks like?
One day I got a glimpse of a woman which I think was Inbar on set. Additionally, at that time, Inbar Lavi posted a few S4 photos which seemed a bit peculiar. Therefore if Inbar was on set and is the person who made the tv series Diablo we are in for a hoot!
If that happens it means that Eve has found her way and she might eventually find her way back to Maze’s life in P2. Of course, that’s a speculation but we can always hope!
The next question is why would our writers do that to Lucifer? Why would they put him through an experience that shows him his work and partnership so obviously to him through a series like Diablo? As we know Lucifer is a bit thick sometimes so for all the characters it would be nice to acknowledge certain dynamics as seen from a show that is, of course, a caricature of the actual actors.
I mean Diablo has frozen tips, Det. Doofus looks downright clueless and Blaze… Blaze is the equivalent of Maze but big… Congrats Eve! If that was you, of course, you made Maze looking butch!
So in that episode, Lucifer needs to come face to face with the facade of his life in Hell but also on Earth and I believe it’s time for him for another breakthrough. The same goes for the rest of the leads.
I stand by the opinion I posted on Twitter that 5x03 as far as I see it is a wake-up call that no matter for how long you keep a costume & a mask on that's not who you are. It's also a point where Lucifer's work & partnership may finally be unveiled for what they truly are. All that while they search for a solution. Yet for what solution do I talk about?
Something is wrong with Dan perhaps even Lucifer but I do believe the origin of the problem is Dan due to Lucifer’s actions back in 5x01. If I had to guess I would say that they need a way to make sure Dan is kept alive that a life source is sustained and that requires a link which I suppose is the bracelet. But that it’s just a temporary solution, the permanent one will come in 5x08 and will have its own consequences!
In any case we do have Lucifer and Chloe going to the Pink Motel for some questioning but then… then it seems like Lucifer disappears for a bit. If my speculation is correct during his recovery the events of 5x04 will happen but that will be explored in the next S&S!
The Pink Hotel is considered a landmark btw.
Let’s say now that half of the episode is almost gone perhaps less, 15 min? And we have Lucifer out of commission or perhaps they search with Dan for what they need. That leads to two different groups working and I do not mean that it will be necessary on the case.
^LUX as Hell it even has poles...
*cough* priest collard male strippers*
On one hand, you have Lucifer and Dan. When Kelly Clarkson visited the penthouse aside from several cool parts of that episode like LUX that is now called HELL in the Diablo series we also had a glimpse of a book…
A book? Again? You may lament like Mum at the end of 2x17. Well yes, a book… an ancient book which it may or may not be related to this episode although I will speculate that it is. For me, that book reminded me the Book of Destiny…
In order to understand what that means I have put some strips from the comics here for you. Lucifer and that book or to put it right Destiny, one of the Endless have had a disagreement about that book before but it didn’t work out that well…
The Book of Destiny as Sandman’s and Lucifer’s comics inform us:
“It contains your life. Every detail of your life. Everything that has happened to you. Everything that will happen one day. The things you have forgotten (ALERT on that one). The things you do not believe.”
Yet the writers have never used a source from the comics without altering it so beware of that. It may be something that is based on that book or carries certain attributes of it.
So let’s assume that that book helps them create the bracelets and thus Dan remains alive for the time being. Also, does that mean that Dan will be exposed to the Devilish truth? If this speculation is correct I do not see how he can avoid it. At the same time learning all about Mom and most importantly Charlotte will do him A LOT of good. Yes, he has been healing in his own terms but whoever has lost someone knows that the pain never goes away it always nags you so I think it will make that pain a bit duller.
^Do not forget that Dan’s office area is full of motivation quotes... Do not be surprised if he is in therapy again in s5...
While Lucifer and Dan are preoccupied we have Chloe and Amenadiel working together I believe somewhat on the case or trying to help Dan. Who knows it might even be Eve - again IF she appears in that episode - who will give the temporary solution they need.
What intrigues me in DB’s photo from that episode is the official one that was released at ET where he is in front of a clown. It looks like a weird scary place, a theme park perhaps or even a set…
We do know that there were two crews and that scenes of the Diablo episode were requiring two crews, I mean would you let an actor near your 40K camera? Nope!
So the circus/clown scene is what interests me most as I have no idea what is going on there… What I do know is that it corresponds with Ella’s shirt. Ella’s shirt has a clown on and it says ‘Big Clown’ and something other underneath yet on the murder scene she wears a light blue shirt.
Additional Info
We have a Scene at the Penthouse which may be connected with the scene of Maze and Trixie at the Decker Household. However! Scarlett almost always shoots more than one episode so it is possible that it might be connected to 5x04. Still we take it as if it is for 5x03.
There is a fight scene with Maze and Lucifer against some people. Still, Ellis’ stuntman also filled in for a different role this time so that might have been for the Diablo show.
Finally, we did have Linda on set and there was a photo from within her house. Scenes from Linda’s house or her office during her sessions with Lucifer are rare so most of the time we do not know they are happening.
A background extra who played a police officer in this episode made it to an actor with lines. Of course now we know that she will have that role up to 5x08 yet we do not know if she will survive the serial killer ordeal of the last two episodes of S5 Part 1…
Additional bts of that episode including the Kelly Clarkson photos etc.
^Did you see Marcus’ honourary tablet?
^And of course the mermaid is back at her rightful place. It was there also in S4 but appeared only at a bts with Inbar. :)

The midseason finale…
In order to go through the S&S of the Midseason Finale, we will have in many points to go back to the rest of the S5P1 episodes, especially the 5x07, but also explore a part of 5x09 which up to this day remains untitled due to the spoiler it seems to give away.
This episode can be better explained as the action and effect pattern. Whatever you do in due time it will catch up with you and that seems to be the theme here. We are not talking just about consequences although there will be plenty however the fact that in this episode we will probably realize that Lucifer’s decisions brought him to this point and the same applies for Chloe’s existence in his life and perhaps her entity as well. But I get ahead of myself…
Okay so as you have noticed throughout the season we have several subplots going and most of them will give way to 5x08 which in turn will lead us to the second part of S5.
First, we need to talk about the bracelets. I have mentioned many times that 5x08 will provide a permanent solution to whatever is going on with them and active seekers of that solution seem to be mainly Amenadiel and Maze. That is because most probably little Charlie provides part of that solution. If I’m correct then Charlie exhibits something that aids Lucifer and Daniel to a point but the real answer lies on 5x04. Additionally do remember that Dan seemed to be able to battle the influence of Azrael’s blade so keep that to the back of your head as well.
As promised to many I will not reveal nothing of the script but I’ll provide you with a prop that laid in plain sight yet only the people who knew what it was about could decode it. That will be mentioned at the end of the episode as it is also connected to 5x09 so be sure that the bracelet issue will be out of the picture in this episode but we have so many things to cover still.
Second, comes the Serial Killer who appears in the episodes 5x07 and 5x08. It is true that on Twitter we were informed that Chloe and an Officer are in a very small freshly painted room and they had to act distresses and shaken. (I contemplated on hiding the name but then I decided against it mainly because she has already tagged Lauren in her posts. I’m still a bit uneasy about this to be honest).
Many believe that Chloe gets kidnapped and that would be a good explanation yet as I have mentioned before do not expect her to die or at least to have a conventional ‘death’ believe the writers will not take that route. In this story we either get Lucifer to act impulsively and reclaim Chloe from death or in a very uncommon fashion we get that Chloe is more than a Miracle but do not go again to this poignant discussion she is an angel etc. Let’s speculate that Chloe is something more connected to Lucifer’s past and we will get how only at the end of 5x08 perhaps even in 5x09…
So enough with the small S&S of the two main subplots and let’s gate to what is happening during the episode!
Let’s talk locations something that I didn’t do in 5x07 because I wanted to focus more on the ones in 5x08.
- Precinct
- LUX
- WB lot house
- Bronson Caves
- Linda’s house
- Freshly painted room
In order to break down the locations we need to see who is working with whom in this episode.
First, let’s start with Amenadiel and Maze. For the past episodes they have come very close and in this episode, they once again aim to deliver. There is a dedication there a need to protect their newfound family. Charlie, Lucifer, Dan and of course the rest of the not so much affected parties from the multiple threats they face in S1P1.
We know that there is something like a fight breaking in at the precinct. A crowd gathers quickly I believe from the interrogation room to the main area. I believe it is mainly related to Chloe and the Officer being stuck in the small room (notice here she said room not cave) but that remains to be seen.
Lucifer and Maze seem to be rather pissed at least Maze that is and leads to probably the photo where Lucifer is behind an officer (the actor is a friend of Kevin Alejandro) where Lucifer shows him something (a photo? a number? a location?) and threatens to have some results. You can see that Maze is at the left side of that photo.
Of course, the above scene might be happening somewhere else but my gut at the moment tells me that Lucifer has had enough and wants answers. I do not believe he ever recovered completely from 2x13 so that opens the proverbial can of worms…
If I’m correct about this then Lucifer is wearing blue at the beginning of the episode and then purple. The reason for that speculation is because in one of Lesley-Ann’s videos Ellis’ stunt wears a purple shirt while Lucifer when he demands answers from that officer/security he wears the dark blue so I guess that the purple shirt is what we will see at the second half of the episode. PS I love the silver cufflinks on the blue shirt arrangement. That is also supported by Ella’s t-shirt in the precinct and then the car meaning Lucifer and Maze go in the precinct and then he leaves with Ella.
So perhaps that’s when Ella finds out? I’m not sure but it\s nice to suppose she does in 5x08.
Btw Alejandro here reminds me so much of James Marsters aka Spike in Buffy :P
Maybe today Satan... :D Rafferty was always a great tease...
In this episode, we have also seen Lucifer with some bullet halls but his shirts in 5x08 do not seem to fully support that incident in that episode as he wears deep purple and midnight blue shirts. Of course, that scene might be happening early on the episode but I could be cautious here.
Now probably after the precinct scene, we had Amenadiel and Maze patterning up and of course Lucifer and Ella. Amenadiel and Maze seem to be again preoccupied with the bracelet mystery but also we have a scene where Maze is at Linda’s house with the same clothes and we also have Charlie in a beautiful onesie in light blue with moons and stars.
^The baby proofed ceiling...
At the same time, Lucifer and Ella with his car pay a visit to a house at the suburbs which we know it’s at the lot and might or might not be connected to previous episodes of S5 yet I’m not certain about that one. In order for that to happen
Okay so! We know that at some point Lucifer and Maze end up at the Bronson caves. Now here is a not so secret secret. Lucifer this season has three stages and many sets are constructed in order for the cast to not leave the lot often and for the requests of the writers' room to be easier to be full field. Of course, that has happened before with the country bar that was constructed in 4x04, or the hospital in 3x16 where Lucifer gets Abel’s soul back from Hell but in S5 they are doing some spectacular things with the props. Actually, one of the parts of the cave has been built in the stages so Lesley-Ann’s photo at the cave is in reality at the stages not on location.
So we have Lucifer and Maze and also their stunts there (Well at least Lucifer’s that is). I do not know if the small room is supposed to be in the caves or somewhere completely different but for the most part of the episode our leads are trying to resolve the issue of the bracelet combined with Chloe and the Serial Killer.
You can see that on location they changed the arrangement of the rocks a bit adding some bigger rocks to look perhaps like a planetary system. Also in Lesley-Ann’s photo, you can see at the right some stairs. I wished it was part of the prohibition tunnel Lucifer claimed LUX to be full with but only time will tell if that is true or it’s simply part of the cave system of the Bronson Caves.
Notice the difference between the rocks that were placed from the production and down how the arrangement was a day before the shot on location.
A small trivia here. The Bronson Caves is mainly known as the Batcave as it was used as the Batcave for the Batman series back in the 1960s. Originally a quarry it remained unused in the 10th century and use for series and films have earned it a spot as an L.A. landmark from the state f California.
Moving on!
The last acts of this episode will be interesting to see… We do have some unbelievable revelations and consequences in my opinion and in Lucifer series fashion we should be ready to perhaps welcome a hard to swallow, truth.
Lucifer in this season had an unparalleled growth. If you seek for Deckerstar romance I’m not sure we will get to have them in a relationship just yet and although that saddens me, in 5x09 it’s promised to finally move on towards that. Yes, they are in love and they appear to be also committed to each other but I do not think we have enough evidence to claim they are in a relationship but then again what happens in the stages between Ellis and Lauren as Lucifer and Chloe almost never gets out.
Concluding the 5x08 episode we should expect the following. Sure the serial will be killed or arrested with the probability laying on being killed but when have the writers ever played fair? I do not think that the officer who was with Chloe will make it either but here is into hoping! Usually, the reoccurring character that is mentioned or has few lines goes unsung into the light or fire…
We expect that Charlie will manifest an interesting side we were expecting since S4 but will become more prominent in S5 and even though it is expected it will probably catch us by surprise.
As I have said to expect Dan to be now aware of what is going on and who Lucifer actually is.
There is a young girl in the cast which I have no idea what her role is. Also, there is a small LUX scene in this episode for which we know next to nothing I’m afraid as it must be something really quick.
Another information is that there was a bts with a flying harness. The bts says for floating only and I’ll believe that but I cannot swear to you it will be used for Lucifer. Sometimes stunts are employed in different jobs or have different routines so although I’m positive about it I cannot guarantee it’s for our show. Plus, we know that there is a lot of CGI happening in this episode.
Now the last part I want to talk about before adding a small mention to 5x09. I have said many times that everything in this season is connected. When I saw that prop I wondered whether to not mention it or to do so with the minimal effect possible. So I did the second. I covered the extra spoilers around it and I left two things. Lucifer’s suit jacket and the engraved ankh on that prop. When the season drops you will get the whole thing but for now it.
Borrowing some lines from Wikipedia you will probably realize where this is going:
This sequence was found in several Egyptian words, including the words meaning "mirror", "floral bouquet", and "life". In art, the symbol often appeared as a physical object representing either life or substances such as air or water that are related to it. It was especially commonly held in the hands of ancient Egyptian deities, or being given by them to the pharaoh, to represent their power to sustain life and to revive human souls in the afterlife.
Early versions bear a resemblance to the tyet symbol, a sign that represented the concept of "protection". In many respects the tyet resembles an ankh, except that its arms curve down. Its meaning is also reminiscent of the ankh, as it is often translated to mean "welfare" or "life" it’s also a symbol that came to be connected with the goddess Isis. In some decorative friezes in temples, all three signs, or the ankh and was alone, were positioned above the hieroglyph for a basket that represented the word "all": "all life and power" or "all life, power, and stability”.
For the ones who fear I have gone too far, fear not. Even with the above the actual plot is still well concealed but two things are exposed.
1) Everything at some point backfires.
2) AGN might have been into something.
That’s, of course, a spoiler based speculation but the spoiler is still there. The supernatural aspect of S5 rearranges things and views on people, reals and even entities. When they ask me - no idea with what authority I can answer those question as I’m but a fan - whether one will live more or they will both die or even if they will grow old etc the reality lies on a very simple truth.
Most fans envision of Deckerstar and the series finale is based to what we know not what S5 introduces us to. New episodes mean new information and new facts to take into consideration. Above all? Lucifer as a series is not a regular show that abides to human rules meaning time, life, death and procreation. It goes beyond that and that is why we can rarely speculate about where it leads us as that damn Lightbringer shines too bright for any of us to see clearly where that path leads us.
Finally, I would like to add an observation from 5x09 but without bts. In one bts we saw that Lauren had certain marks but none noticed the deathly pale make up. 5x09 does not support Chloe’s death as you know but Deckerstar moving forward with also a romantic scene on location at Grand Park of L.A. So why should we so worried about?
Nothing really aside from the fact that Chloe was probably wrong as was Lucifer. Past and Present seem to be merged and new realizations arise thus giving our leads an equal footing but the consequences have most probably hit Chloe at the beginning of 5x09 not in a bad way necessarily yet enough for the whole mess of Dan, Charlie, Lucifer and Chloe to bring forward God’s appearance in 5x10 for some answers to be finally given as new problems once again plague the main storyline of the series. Nothing drastic ever brings forward only good or evil. Sometimes it makes you Fall, sometimes it makes you Rise Sometimes both happen and sometimes, sometimes everything is reinstated to the preconceived era of everything.
Spoiler Alert indeed…

If you want to post some of the photos or videos you see here find the OPs do not take advantage of the hours I’ve spent on this!

(Including the ET intwerviews)
Locations
This episode was shot in two locations the WB lot and at a mansion at Beverly Hills.
- Penthouse?
- New York Street WB Lot
-New York Street WB Lot - The ‘Garden’ Club
-Beverly Hills Mansion (Ellis + German and a lot of background actors)
This S&S is different than the rest mainly because on some level I know certain parts of the plot so here I had to decide what to do. The writers are obviously really proud about this episode and they should be as it is based on an amazing concept. At the same time do I really need to spoil a magnificent episode by writing accurately around 1/3 or 1/2 of the episode? To prove what? To achieve what? After the Part has dropped I’ll share that script page.
So early on I talked to some friends and it was decided that the verified by a script page and crew call page spoilers would not make it in the S&S. At least not the actual core of the episode. Some minor details here and there will still be here yet that is met with another problem as 5x04 sets in motion the rest of the season and if I’m correct also affects 5x09. Therefore, I do hope you do not mind if I’m vague on some parts. Finally don’t you worry when I speculate about things I will tell you upfront like I have done in the previous episodes.
As you can imagine I struggled a lot on how to explain this episode and write the S&S by what has already been spoiled from the cast, mainly in their ET interview at that time from Lauren, Ellis, DB and Aimee.
What I have to tell you first is that 5x04 moves on 3 levels. The first level is the present as a story is being told, it does not begin at random. If you remember 5x03 left us with a temporary solution and two amethyst bracelets on Dan and Lucifer. At the same time 5x05 features the title Detective Amenadiel. Lets speculate here that Lucifer is not that well so the clarity he gained in 5x03 with the show Diablo allowed him to recall of a different time that’s the second level, his past. The third level is how the episode is dressed meaning as a Noir episode that is set in the 1940s.
First, let’s explore the first level. Lucifer for some reason he feels the need to take the audience back to his past, and in order to do that there must be a present audience in his story. Someone that will make him go back and forth. I remind you that the shootings of the noir episode didn’t give any space for a lot of present time shootings so I would guess that Lucifer is at a place he feels safe perhaps his penthouse or Chloe’s house. I do not think that must be happening during therapy as we need a place that comforts him and this is a story not a therapy session the whole structure of it does not support Lucifer talking during a therapy session but to someone he trusts.
Now as you know when you tell a story you need to put everything in a perspective that your audience will understand. Us yes but also the person/s Lucifer has in front of him so the story changes and is manipulated according to us the viewers but also Lucifer’s audience.
w let’s go to the third level before the second for a very simple reason. We would expect for Lucifer to remember his past that this story to be set in Heaven, the Silver City to have angels and a pearly gate, clouds and harps but our genius writers take us somewhere else. They take us in 1940 before the US joined the Second World War. The US joined WII on December 7, 1941. The clothes the actors wear carry this late 1930s, early 1940s style where everything is bigger, there is colourful patterned fabric, no shortage of metal, there is no reason for grimness and of course, there is no war. So here is the thing as the audience you can hear the war drums echoing in the distance but this episode for its main part carries this innocence before WW2. WW2 is also relatable to the humans in Lucifer’s life, they get that people never expect a grand war and that certain behaviours are understandable.
In addition to that film noir concept for 5x04, before WW2 that genre was popular but skyrocketed in the 1940s when we had two of the most amazing Hollywood noir films of all time. By the way, do remember that Hollywood thrived due to the war as the rest of the world either had to halt filming big productions or the technology was simply not affordable yet you will find some good foreign movies but without the same exposure Hollywood gave for the simple reason that it had not been affected directly by the war, meaning the bombs and the poverty.
Now the Noir films I was talking about are The Maltese Falcon that was released in October of 1941 just two months before Pearl Harbor and Citizen Cain in May of 1941 that inspired so many great film noirs we can also mention of course High Sierra in January of 1941. All these movies are important to remember as Lucifer’s past is narrated in a very similar way but with a twist which I’ll let you know what it is when I start explaining the second level. Until I get there do remember that Lauren was watching the movie ‘Only Angels Have Wings’ (1939) which although it is not a film noir it is relatable to this episode and I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers recommended to the actors to watch it. So we gather that the film noir is not a random choice or an attempt to make this episode artistic as other shows have done but it actually deals with that atmosphere the misdealings and the unfortunate choices but also heartbreak. Well, for some that is.
The second level of this episode is that Lucifer talks about his past. If level two and level three correspond then we can claim that it was before Lucifer Fell. I do believe and support this theory as on a level it follows the Comic’s concept that Lucifer Fell around the time he met Lilith. Lilith has been confirmed for 5x04.
Now if we are in a time when Lucifer didn’t Fell what does that mean for the episode itself? Who will. appear there? Why do we have Chloe dressed as a man? Why Lauren called her character Jack? What is going on? Unfortunately for all of us I know that part so I’ll have to skip it but at the same time I’ll not disappoint you.
First of all the second and the third level are connected so they are one thing and the whole story is on some level an allegory in some places and true on others. In order to understand this better you need to be familiar with the book/movie “The Life of Pi”. For the ones who have not read/watched it it’s basically a story of a boy stranded at sea with a Tiger, a Zebra, A Hyena and a Chimpanzee only in the end to realize that none of the zoo animals the ship carried had made it to the raft but the actual story involved humans, murder, cannibalism and the madness that led to boy’s survival through a long quest of keeping up faith to nothing yet everything. The same happens in this episode more or less.
Our characters are changing and as Aimee said even her character in that episode is different. You see the only constant in this story is mainly Lucifer, most of the rest are ‘shifting’ and that’s the appropriate word to explain it. You should also go to all the leads social media and discover some more clues here and there because our leads do not do post in random. Like with my speculation with Inbar for 5x03 I support the same speculation here but from a different person.
So let’s get to the story that Lucifer attempts to narrate. We are back in a time before the big war and we see a Lucifer with lighter colours, curious and of course young. We do not know if he has Fallen but as I speculate over and over in this S&S let’s say that he has not so perhaps we will see the process of that Fall of what or who helped him think for himself.
In the comics, Lucifer after Ibrael slept with Lilith and she bore him a Nephelim son called Briadach, Lucifer and Lilith started having long conversations over why she lays with demons, why she left Adam and the matter of will comes up something that Lucifer contemplates a lot after that. As the years pass in the comics the time comes when Briadach and Maze kill Ibrael because not only he refused his son but also wanted to exile all the Lilim from the Silver City which they have built. You see Lilith was so in love with Ibrael that she gave him her children as builders for the City of Heaven.
Long story short the Angels wanted to kill Maze and Briadach to atone the sin of Ibrael’s murder but Lucifer refuses to take a side which angers Gabriel. Samuel then takes the name Lucifer and leaves the Silver City,
The chances of all that happening are slim to none of course but the concept that Lucifer and Lilith talk at some point in that episode about will and freedom means a lot. There are a lot of firsts in this episode actually that the viewers will certainly love. Also, I do not think we should approach their meeting as a romance more like a platonic romance of similar ideas and a start of how Lucifer made a stand towards divine plans.
Talking of firsts as some of fans noticed Lucifer in that episode didn’t wear his ring. The writers' room had two backstories (not from the start of the series!) for that according to Idly and apparently, they have decided which one to use so in 5x04 we will see how Lucifer got his ring but not everything is that simple or innocent. And talking about lack of innocence that is one of the reasons why the Garden is transformed to a club that bears the same name in the episode. Also perhaps that duet is actually Lucifer’s first introduction to a piano and he is a natural? Honestly no idea.
^Video Here
There is also always an alias... I told you this story is moving on 3 levels all the time.
It was first assumed that it was Lauren but as White was the writer of 5x04, in reality, we see Ellis and Lesley Ann before their duet if that tux is anything to go about.
From the bts we have seen that there is a case, there is always a case and there is even a police car so if I were you I would expect a body somewhere (you will probably be shocked when you see the victim) and so things will need to be investigated and unveiled. Meaning the culprit.
We have seen Lauren with a black eye as well as a cut lip and that is again normal as the story progresses yet you will not get much of the story’s zest aside from the fact that Lucifer is working with Lauren’s ‘Jake’ and that in the Garden he meets Lesley-Ann with which he has a duet. Perhaps some mommy issues from Maze can finally be addressed when Lilith makes her entrance.
^Lucifer getting in the Garden Club^
youtube
^Remember there is always a trap... There is always a chase for riches and... power.
Now you may ask and what of the Proprietor? Well, he might be our villain and he might be someone totally unexpected. Do not get fooled by titles and do expect the unexpected.
As a final note, I’ll have to remind you this. Season 5 is a heavily supernatural based season like S4 was and before that S2. It’s basically what the Writers Room can do without being controlled by a Network and when they have the freedom to create the path they want for the characters. Season 1 was supposed to be a filler for FOX and to get a second season it was unexpected, to say the least and then in December of 2017 the news came that it had been renewed for a 3rd season at that point, the network wanted a full S2 meaning 22 episodes, 4 of which as you know were moved in S3. So S2, S4 and S5 are in the same tune and 5x04 will set the tune to synchronize with the supernatural elements of the past seasons.
Plot-wise you will notice that most of the shooting was done at night also Lucifer’s clothing lighten up here and there while the story becomes bleaker.
^Some bts suggest that Maze is present in Lucifer’s story or at least in the present aka the first level of that episode even if she is not around that story from the beginning.
Now early in this S&S I told you that this episode might affect Season 5 Part 1 as a whole and even 5x09 but I didn’t tell you why. The solution of 5x03 is temporary and Lucifer in 5x04 realizes that he can find a permanent one by recalling events of his past. Perhaps his audience comes to the conclusion that a solution may lie on a detail of 5x04. That leads to a quest but what frees Dan and Lucifer has other consequences and do not be surprised if in Part 2 you will see the younger version of Lucifer again that you met in 5x04. Confusing? Yes, but better than nothing I suppose at least we know that the season is well crafted.
Unfortunately due to the circumstances under this S&S is written I’ll not answer any questions that will ask from me to clarify or further speculate details and in general what I have mentioned above. Thank you for your understanding.
PS As far as I know up to that point the Hell set was still up in the stage so we might see it again in 5x04. Only time will tell.
PS2 There are hints everywhere in every single bts above. Things that are obvious and others that you simply cannot spot until you watch the episode but trust me this will be an unforgettable experience for all Lucifans!
Although some photos seem to be the same like the ones in 5x03, which is true, it is why sometimes we do not know which episode she shoots as multiple scenes from 2-3 episodes sometimes are shot in one day due to Scarlet’s other responsibilities and under the Child Actor Act that does not allow a child to work for more than a certain number of days and hours per week.
Bonding time I guess...

There has been a lot of speculation over how this episode would go. This happens often where we have a long break in between episodes. Who could forget the break between 2x13 and 2x14 or even the summer one between S2 and S3?
First, let’s begin with the Table Reading. The video from the table read was accidentally added in the previous episode so I have added it again in this episode’s BTS videos. The script appears to begin or include with someone with a baseball bat in one hand and his (?) mobile at the other.
youtube
This episode had a lot of BTS videos and photos as well as hints and references which you may remember or may have forgotten due to the attention the Finale and the Standalones got in the past few weeks.
What most also do not pay attention to is who was the main writer of each episode. Believe it matters. Early on I decided that I loved Mike Costa and Jason Ning was second on my list with Christ Rafferty. Why?
Well... As you have seen in the past posts I include what the impending episode’s writer has written for the series as these episodes are usually holding hints or references from past episodes. Each writer does not get a random episode but one that leads somewhere... That is why Henderson and Ildy start and end Lucifer’s seasons.
So Jason Ning... Ning has written some of the most amazing mythos establishing episodes of the series. I’ll start with 1x06 - Favourite Son, where we see for the first time God’s sign as well as we delve into Lucifer’s past. The wings make their first real appearance (script-wise) in the show also it is one of the best episodes where Lucifer shows an inner struggle of who he was and what he tries to conceal or protect. What matters and what doesn’t. Ning managed to give Lucifer this futile quest of identity and ownership since S1 and now in S3 this will get so much further than we expected. Why?
The second episode Ning wrote was The Would-Be Prince of Darkness which was scripted as episode 1x10 but it was then moved in 1x03 with some changes. Again that episode showed a darker side of Lucifer and how Chloe could halt it. Enter S2, 2x05 - Weaponizer and 2x16 - God Johnson. Both episodes as you remember introduced supernatural elements in the show as did 2x20/3x11 City of Angels. It appears as if the writers have left Ning deal with the brief but greatly influential supernatural elements of the show. Uriel, God (Earl+Medallion), But what has he given in S3? Lucifer’s self-doubt in 3x04 and also it was the episode where Marcus got shot but *, unfortunately,* lived. Finally, we have My Brother’s Keeper. Both episodes acted as an introduction towards Cain and then Abel. Both set the supernatural basis even if we were unaware at the time for something more. I remind you that Ellis in Germany said that another sibling is coming in S3 which it might happen in the very end but keep an eye for more hints, please. Finally, what I do not consider as a coincidence is that the writer has written both Weaponiser and The Angel of San Bernardino... Just saying... Especially since the crew was in the mountains at some point (see photo underneath taken from the crew).
Let’s first see what Jason Ning (the writer), as well as the cast, had to say about this episode:
This episode is supposed to be the favourite of Tom Ellis from S3 and the one he got the most outfit changes. I guess someone got into his back closet and the Devil loves to hoard old memorabilia like an Elizabethan Era ruff collar matched with red silken boxers...
It's also interesting that many members of the cast also gushed over how they had their best filming moments with certain co-stars. DB’s has me thinking as what could top Amenadiel having coffee with Mum? Whatever it was, DB shot two scenes with Tricia as far as I’m aware. One at LUX and the other at Marcus house if I’m not mistaken. There is a scene which includes Tricia, Ellis, Welling and DB (see the bts videos).
Quick Amenadiel and Charlotte Spoiler and Speculation part:
Amenadiel seems to go to Charlotte’s office and ask for her help. He might have lost the opportunity to say goodbye to his mother but something draws him to Charlotte as they become partners in crime. Basically, they start working against Marcus as we have seen from the promotional photos of 3x21.
Some may say what the heck are you doing Amen??? Using a human again it never ends well and I doubt it will in this case either but through that Charlotte may be redeemed when it’s time. Perhaps that was Charlotte's second chance was about. Saving herself and the Miracle. So be prepared to see some awesomeness unravelling from these two characters
So something big comes from all fronts but I guess we should break down the episode first according to the press release, promo video, sneak pic, 3x21 promo trailer and the promotional photos.
Lucifer and Chloe investigate a murder during which a witness claims a winged guardian angel saved her life.
Everything happens in a modest house whether the owner claims that an Angel not just saved her life but also got one of her Angel figurines. The same figurine which Lucifer holds smiling at his session with Linda early in the episode.
Which figurine though? Saint Gabriel. Just keep that one for future reference.
So Lucifer finds a figurine that makes him panic as he believes he was the Angel. Going back to 3x15 Lucifer nightmares start to become way too real. He believes he cannot control his body, especially when asleep and his biggest fear as always is putting Chloe in danger so he stops sleeping. But why the drastic measures? How did the Angel save the woman? If it was just a saving case it would be fine but someone died there. Someone was killed in order for that women to be saved and killing humans as we know is Angel 101 no-no... As we have seen from the promo pictures, he cleans, binges on Bones with great interest which may influence him later on in the episode and also tries to have orgies. Problem is that we do have the girl from 3x08 who wore the top hat as Lucifer had skipped boarding game night. Now call me a wishful fool but what if Lucifer couldn't perform that night in 3x08 and we get a delightful admission in 3x20? I’m all for that!
So Lucifer basically becomes a mess as Marcus gets handsy with Chloe in the precinct. Now Trixie is also there something that makes me wonder if she will see through Marcus and cause the end of Marclo for now in 3x20. Yes, you see for the ones who have watched the Hulu teaser of 3x21, Chloe broke it off with Marcus in 3x20 and he didn’t take it well. The way Chloe says that to Ella seems like Marcus crossed some lines and became even fearsome? Violent? Abusive? The last one certainly even on an emotional level.
Now Maze might be behind Lucifer’s state as well as who knows who planted the figurine at the penthouse? Either she or Marcus.... Or perhaps even Gabriel himself if he is indeed coming at the finale.
Now let's take a break and see where this episode also takes us for the murder case.. The production for this episode selected the most expensive estate in Malibu. and from the air photos, you can see why...
Now the first murder scene is somewhere close to the train museum in L.A as far as we know from the BTS so whatever Lucifer and Chloe are doing in that estate takes time as the crew shot there for a full day. Meaning? Multiple shots. There was even a shot at the stone gazebo. Was that perhaps at the end of the episode where Chloe breaks up with Marcus? Perhaps...
But let's talk about the window scene... When does that happen? I guess around the middle of the episode as many friends told me so here mainly because it would explain Lucifer at the precinct and certain events that may follow. So, in my opinion, the events go as followed: Therapy, Woman Saved, Lucifer going crazy, Lucifer driving his car and visiting Marcus, seeing him with Chloe and crashing the window. Then the precinct scenes with Chloe and Lucifer. Why? Because the Sneak Peek with Marcus and Chloe making out will be before the first case as their clothes are the same with the GoodDayLA Sneak Peek from the case.
So anyway this episode will be heartbreaking but something will make Chloe break up with Marcus. Yes, we will get the proposal in 3x21 but also the eventual Marclo breakup in 3x22 after the bridal party. So be calm and enjoy this because as Lucifer said his deepest desire is for Chloe to choose him and in a way she will. It will not be a pretty ride until we get there but Chloe has the strength to get off Marcus manipulation without Lucifer’s help.
Now a few pics from the set that hold a meaning to the plot somehow...

The Spoiler: Who is Marcus?
Now that I have cooled off a bit I edited the whole post...
The spoiler is under this Keep Reading. I warn you that it’s big and it’s not Biblical. You see in this show if you want to go hunt for spoilers you have to know the comics otherwise chaos ensues...
Certain things changed on the second reading of the script. Tune back soon...
It all begins in 3x10 Til Death Do Us Part. I believe that’s when we finally learn who Marcus really is.
In 3x11 My Brother’s Keeper we get a direct reference as the episode does involve way too many brothers. Ella’s, Big sisters and brothers of America (I presume), Amenadiel and Lucifer but also Marcus and his own brother Cain.
The spoiler gives us this transcript:
The transcript will be reuploaded. Certain things changed when we went over it again so please be patient.
As you can notice many things are missing but as I had no intention to post it I just never really bothered nor will I with the full transcript. Now you go directly to the bible and to the nonsense about Seth (The only other son who is mentioned in the Bible by name of Adam and Eve and he was born after Abel’s death.) Also, Seth as a character appears in only one issue in the comics and although it looks a bit like Marcus I’m quite sure it isn’t him.
Neil Gaiman at the end of that issue closes the story with this:
It is though vital for you to understand that
THE COMICS DO NOT RECOGNISE ABEL AND CAIN AS THEIR BIBLICAL COUNTERPARTS SAME GOES WITH THE SHOW! Abel and Cain are characters which go way back in the comics since the bronze age and are usually involved in Horror stories. Their main purpose, of course, is comic relief.
Well, not exactly that kind of comic relief but anyway...
As the years went by and Neil Gaiman started writing The Sandman, Avel and Cain did a very nice appearance in the last comics of the series which is known as The Kindly Ones. Awesome stuff, by the way, do read them if you can get your hands on them.
Okay so in the Comics Cain represents the original Cain but not actually him and Abel the original Abel but again neither of them is the actual character from the Bible. The same goes with Eve when she appears in the comics. They are representations of the original characters and cannot help but fall into the same pattern of actions.
Cain in the more modern history of the comics, meaning in Sandman and then in the series House of Mystery and House of Secrets (Each brother operates one) has a manic tendency to kill his brother over and over again. Abel is shown to recover by every killing and although he understands that Cain cannot control his murderous intents towards him (Think Lucifer and Uriel in Hell in 2x13) he still loves him and often contemplates of a reality where they could just leave peacefully together.
Also, Cain is very protective of his brothers against strangers as we can see in the new series of Lucifer... Although Cain and Abel are semi-immortals, Cain is aware that his brother can be killed by a celestial being but if that happens then he will not be resurrected. That’s what actually happened in Sandman The Kindly Ones. Cain has to leave through the loss of his brother..
Moving on! If you ever wondered why Marcus was looking so grim when Chloe talked about dying is because he is Abel. He is Abel because we know that Tom Welling and DB Woodside had a scene together in High Scool Poppycock when the spoiler was out.
Also a tiny spoiler as well... As Abel can only be harmed and killed by Cain but also the celestial community imagines how surprised Marcus was he was hurt by the bullet. That alone shows that it's not just Lucifer who is vulnerable around Chloe. (<-- That’s my speculation really...)
Next!
The Kindly Ones... Yes... In that story Cain and Abel team up with the Corinthian. Yesterday an ask wanted to know if Sinnerman is The Corinthian and I said that no but the story seems a bit more complicated than that.
The Corinthian is not a bad guy but he punishes evil in a very gruesome way. He also was once a nightmare who took a more stable form. Anyway, due to the spoilers of The Sin BIn, we know that The Corinthian might be in the mix of ‘villains’ this year.
He certainly fits the description the Sinnerman has in the show but I believe that sometimes there is a strange merge of things or charcters here... Anyway I would look more into the string bond that Amenadeil and Abel seem to have by episode 3x11 - High School Poppycock and about the spoilers over Amenadiel’s fights with Lucifer and Maze around that point...
There is always going to be evil around but the true adversary of S3 might end up being Amenadiel... We shall see though...
Believing I have said too much and yet just enough to clear up certain nonsense that outed I’ll end this angry post here. I need some time to recover and think straight. (Edit: I believe I’m better now thank you...) Any other spoilers containing the info above will be posted under the Keep Reading banner. Please if you share any of the above be careful...

This it has already been posted by @ships-sailing-in-the-night but I’m more of a visual type so :P
1) How does Lucifer feel about the fact that he has his wings back?
Ildy Modrovich: Well, not good! You know, he's a man who's all about free will and he does not like anything imposed upon him. So he did not like being made the Devil and he does not like it when someone's telling him that he's an angel again. Joe Henderson: Whenever Lucifer feels like someone's telling him who he is or what he's supposed to do, he runs the other way.
2) Lucifer sees getting his wings back as punishment, but Amenadiel (DB Woodside) would like nothing more than to get his wings back. How does that imbalance affect their relationship?
Henderson: That's a big part of Amenadiel's journey this season because you're exactly right, his brother gets the one thing he wanted back and he has to deal with what that means and also come to the realization that maybe this is part of his task. That ... instead of failing like he did last year without realizing that he was the favorite son and having his wings fall, he's going to step up. He's going to be worthy of the favorite son name that his father bestowed on him.
Modrovich: It's never good for men to compare body parts. Especially brothers.
3) Speaking of comparing men. There is a new guy in Chloe's life this season, Marcus Pierce. How does he set himself apart from characters we've seen before?
Henderson: Well, he's a lot uglier.
Modrovich: We thought we had such a beautiful cast, we thought we'd add one very unattractive man. No, he's great. There is no one like him on the show. And what's great about Tom Welling on the show is that he's not doing anything you've seen him do before. He's not Clark Kent. He's got an edge to him. He's got a lot of secrets too. He's not "all you see is what you get." There's more to him than meets the eye.
Henderson: We've also never had an authority figure come in with our characters, so it's nice that they're used to doing things their way and Pierce comes in with a very different approach than they have. It's one Chloe responds to quite a bit. Pierce is very different from Lucifer. What [Pierce] says in a little, Lucifer says in a lot. He's the kind of guy who wants to get stuff done while Lucifer wants to play. And there's a lot about Pierce that Chloe really responds to because this is a guy who's closing cases and getting stuff done.
Modrovich: He's kind of all about the rules. He's by the book. It's what Joe said: he's somebody who likes the rules, who follows the rules. She's kind of an eternal adult and he's maybe even more so and she doesn't really have any adults in her life. He fills that role.
Henderson: She has Peter Pan in one hand and an adult in the other, and both appeal to her in different ways.
4) We know that Pierce eventually tells Lucifer that he knows about the Sinnerman and they team up to track him down. How much are we going to see them butt heads during this unlikely partnership?
Henderson: I think you hit it right on the target. The fun of it is going to be [seeing] these two characters with two very different agendas when it comes to this Sinnerman character -- can they work together? Will their agendas clash? At times their agendas will be together and at times they're going to have to face off. And that's the fun of it.
5) Is it just a coincidence that Pierce comes into Lucifer's life or does he know more about the celestial world than he lets on?
Henderson: I'll say one thing. Pierce is human, so he's not a celestial character. But he's definitely come here following the Sinnerman, which is the uniting factor between them.
Modrovich: He is human, but as I said earlier, there is more to him than meets the eye.
6) What makes the Sinnerman a different kind of antagonist than ones we've seen before?
Modrovich: He's a badass. But what you also find is that he does have a hidden history with some characters in our show that come out and Lucifer has to face off against.
Henderson: We look at him like a bizarre reflection of Lucifer. We learn in an upcoming episode that he also gives out favors, but his are a little bit more nefarious. When this guy gives out favors, you're really dreading the payment that you'll have to give. So it's sort of the Devil facing a dark reflection of himself.
7) What can you say about the Sinnerman's intentions in kidnapping Lucifer?
Henderson: The Sinnerman's the kind of person who knows that putting angel wings on the Devil will only drive him deeper in the other direction. So Lucifer, whether he likes it or not, is being manipulated.
Modrovich: And that Sinnerman has a motivation in taking Lucifer into the desert that's other than the wings. He has this specific motivation that we will reveal to you throughout the entire season. He has a personal reason.
8) Lucifer was so close to revealing the truth to Chloe in the season finale. How much longer do you think you can draw out this reveal?
Henderson: 17 seasons.
Modrovich: Forever and ever and ever. No, you know one thing that we contend with to be really honest, we want to keep Chloe formidable, we want to keep her smart. But at the same time, the reason why she doesn't know at this time is because of Lucifer. Because Lucifer, even though he's very honest about being the Devil, he could have shown her at any time. He showed Linda (Rachael Harris). And so really, what we're hanging onto are the deep reasons why he's keeping it from her. It's because he's afraid she won't accept him, that she'll be afraid of him. And so that's sort of the place we're living.
Henderson: All we can tease is in the premiere, Lucifer will fulfill his promise to show her who he truly is.
