One af the most tragic things about the plot of Merlin is that if he had completely chosen either his own instincts or the prophecies it probably could have ended relatively well.
Like, if he had trusted himself, Morgana would have had a support network, he could have been there for Mordred more without the constant suspicion hindering him, and that would have prevented so many issues. Also everyone's mental health would be so much better, o my god.
If he had completely trusted the prophecies Morgana and Mordred would be dead, and Merlin would probably never forgive himself or be free of guilt ever again, but Arthur probably would have lived and there would be a path to a better future for them.
But instead all these problems were left to fester under the surface, because Kilgarrah and Gaius made him to scared to reach out and solve things the emotionally mature way, but hus own conscience prevented him from solving his problems with some good old-fashioned murder.

Ok is it just me that's worried about where OFMD is going.
I feel like the show has run so fucking quickly back to the status quo before Stede fucked off to see his wife that none of the characters (bar Izzy) have had any kind of lasting narrative consequences.
Least of all Stede fucking Bonnet who hasn't changed as a character in any meaningful way since season 1.
And ive figured out what pissed me off about stede in the last two episodes - its his blatant disregard for what other people want. Always been there since s1 but it feels like it's gotten worse.
The crew dont want Blackbeard on the ship and not even a full episode after hes kicked off he is returned to the ship because stede goes '🥺 he had nowhere to sleep 👉👈'. Ed tells him not to say I love you and he neatly steps over that request by saying something barely adjacent which only just skirts around blatantly striding over that line that Ed just put down. Even the fucking cursed suit he does the whole non-apology 'I'm sorry you saw it that way' shit. AND THERE'S NO FUCKING NARRATIVE CONSEQUENCES AND AAAAAAA
Sorry to burden you with my brainworms

I know I'm a little late to the Good Omens discourse, so this has probably been discussed at great length, but here's my two pennies worth.
Crowley, is morally good.
There are different kinds of morality, and there are two competing ideas on display constantly on the show. Deontology versus Utilitarianism.
Deontology essentially boils down to the idea that the morality of an act is inherent to the act itself. Stealing is wrong for example. The angels in Good Omens not unreasonably seem to follow this idea. The morality of the act is defined by a higher authority and they simply obey. God says its a sin, so it is a sin. The main issue with this kind of morality is that there is no flexibility or room for compromise.
Interestingly, the demons of hell are also following this idea, except whilst angels strive for the good, demons strive to do what is wrong.
Enter Crowley. He is what I would consider a Utilitarian. You’ve probably heard the phrase “the greatest good for the greatest number” that is the bare bones of utilitarianism. What this kind of morality teaches us is that no act is inherently good or evil, we can only find morality in the consequences. Stealing is neither good nor bad, but if you steal from someone who has an abundance of food to feed a starving child, then you could argue it is an act of good. The flashbacks to Edinburgh really tried to drive this point home. The problem with this kind of thinking is that none of us can see the full consequences of our actions. The food you gave to the starving child saves their life, but what if the man you stole it from was planning to donate it to an orphanage? There is lots of scope to get it wrong. That said, Crowley always seems to try to act in such a way that the consequences that he can foresee are good. He is striving to be good, even if he sometimes misses. He is only pretending to be evil to fool hell.
This leads me to previous thoughts about what Crowley did to deserve to fall. He is not evil, he does not deserve to be in hell. Asking questions is not a sin, and should not have resulted in his expulsion. So what did he do? I wonder if his interest in consequences in fact comes from his fall. Did his questions set something in motion, some kind consequence that was so bad he was expelled. The use of goat symbolism around Crowley is very consistent throughout the show, and I wonder if it is pointing to the idea that he is some kind of scapegoat. Or perhaps its simply that, unlike sheep, goats don't always follow the herd. I don’t know, this isn’t really a coherent thought. As a viewer, I’d really like to see Crowely find redemption. For him that doesn’t mean being reinstated as an angel, I think that would mean giving him the answer to the question, what did he do? I'd really like to know too.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes...
Especially knowing it was the final season, I have a really hard time believing she was asking for anything unreasonable.
I've read articles where the showrunners describe her as "the glue holding this series together," and that feels so fucking hypocritical, knowing why she left.
There are many things I can live with, but finding out that Sierra McClain will not be back for season five of 911 Lone Star is not one of them.
You’re telling me the only person you couldn’t figure the contract out with is the dark skinned Black woman who is arguably the heart and conscious of the show…
I’m not surprised but I am incredibly angry and disappointed.

*taps mic* is this thing on? Yeah okay so every vampire in the vampire chronicles is turned at critical a moment in their lives and beyond just the body they are in when they are turned, their mentality stays at that standstill for their entire immortality, Lestat was turned against his will, he was clinging onto Magnus begging him to be freed, so he’s constantly seeking freedom and only finding loneliness and thus turning back to people again and again, however he can’t STAND being told what to do, since he desires agency in his life so desperately, Armand was turned after years and years of abuse and lack of control but such a desire for genuine love, by a man he ‘loved’ so wholly who he felt was barring his love from him, he needs control in his life, he needs a ‘master’ but he does not desire it, it does not fulfill him, he is trapped in a room but the door is unlocked! Louis was mourning his brother, he felt like an utter failure and so he’s always seeking family, seeking people he can care for, he can coddle, he can prove he is good too, but he loves people who either cannot stand coddeling and need a sense of looseness to live (Lestat) or people who grow out of coddling who prove to Louis he will always fail the people he loves (Claudia), Claudias turning, in many MANY ways mirrors lestats in that it was against her will, she was stolen from her home, and in her immortality she desires freedom but unlike Lestat does not have the agency/ form to get it, she will always be small, she will always be looked down on, even by Lestat who cannot deny how much she is just like him *taps mic* ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!! NONE OF THEM CAN BREAK THE CYCLE!!! TO BREAK IT WOULD BE TO UNDO THE VERY FIBER OF THEIR IMMORTAL SELVES!! THE CYCLE IS THE BLOOD THEY DRINK IT IS THE HEART IN THEIR CHEST AND IT ROLLS AND ROLLS DOWN THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AND IT CAN NEVER BE STOPPED BECAUSE THEY WILL NEVER STOP LOVING EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cold take: Jason Todd smokes cigarettes because he’s the ‘bad boy’ ‘cool sibling’
Hot take: Jason Todd smokes cigarettes because Dick Grayson used to smoke them and even though he’s older now Dick is still his older brother and he’s cool so Jason still smokes them to prove himself to dick.

Neil Gaiman: "in season 2 the fan-favorite angel/demon couple will fall in love, overcome great adversity, and eventually defy heaven and hell to run off together to the stars :)"
Fans: "cool! I can't wait, does Aziraphale confess first or does Crowley?'
Neil, holding Gabriel and Beelzebub figures and making them kiss: "Does who do what now?"
