His reaction to finding Rahzar's corpse in the bottom of the ocean is interesting because that is not the reaction of someone who seems happy to see the guy he was constantly butting heads with death.

He flinches when he stumbles upon it and then just stares at it for a while and then snatches the body up so they can resurrect him.

It's just that he takes the time to stare at it. I might be looking into nuance where there is none, but the two of them were at it since the beginning. They were partners and rivals for so long and he finds him dead, flinches and just stares. It's like he cannot believe he is actually dead.

But this? This is even more unusual.

Xever, through all the seasons was never afraid of Bradford. Xever can handle whatever he throws at him and toss it right back. In serpent hunt he was ready to stab him too when he pushed him out of the way.

This was not like their usual bickering. Bradford is more aggressive than usual and flat out threatening him. Xever is extremely terrifed and actually fearing for his life here when Bradford tells him that he has devolped a taste for sushi - Bradford never threatened him directly like that.

When Xever was still in that tank, Bradford told him that he has his use when their master might get hungry for sushi but he reacted with anger just told Bradford to come into the water and say it. The only other time when he said he wanted to eat him was behind his back.

With how terrified Xever reacts, this was likely the first time Bradford threatened him like that.

I think that was also part of the reason why he left. He already mentions to Rahzar that a lot has changed and says later to the turtles that all of that is becoming too much, even for him. He absolutely did not like the direction they were headed to.

Shredder was not the same man he once knew and neither was Bradford. And we find out later they were just mindless puppets of that demon guy.

I'll be honest, I did not like the fifth season because it feels like after killing Splinter / Shredder / Rahzar they did not really know what to do afterwards and just decided to resurrect them again. I feel like it could have ended after the fourth season already, so Xever leaving and then not coming back for the rest of the season is so funny to me. This season was so weird that even Xever had enough of it. They have shown that he is not beyond torture and relishes the opportunity, but they start a cult, summon a demon and then bring people back from the death and he is just: "nope, that's too much even for me, bye."

I like when villains have some form of standards.

Say what you will about 2012 but they gave Shredder the funniest coworkers ever. Imagine you’re him. You’re a man twisted by grief and delusion on a violent quest for revenge, and every day you wake up to see a rhino and a warthog making out in the hallways. For once you don’t even want to fucking deal with that shit so you try get Bradford to do it and find him in the standard issued Foot Clan bathroom shakily signing his old photos and ugly crying to the outro song of a cartoon he made in the 80s. Your daughter is either being mind controlled or a snake depending on the timeline so forget that, and when you get back to Bebop and Rocksteady (still making out) Xever is now watching nearby in sunglasses and reclining in a deck chair. When you ask him why he replies he couldn’t get past them in the hallway so he decided to make himself comfortable. Tiger Claw is apparently the only somewhat what normal employee you have (ignoring the warrior cats roleplay) but every interaction leaves you with the feeling he’s one step away from making a cult about you as soon as you turn your back. Baxter’s gaslighting you.

Tiger Claw: Here’s the cold medicine you asked for.  Tiger Claw: *dumps 3 shopping bags of vodka on the table*  Ivan: ...Thanks. 

Xever: Well, if you're not at least a little bit gay for your friends, then what kind of friend are you?

Anton: Ivan, do you love me?  Ivan: Of course I do!  Anton: Would you still love me if I did something bad?  Ivan: Well, of course I… would…  Anton: I mean something really, really—  Ivan: Anton, what did you do?

Anton: So, Baxter is late today. Chris, texting in the group chat: I wonder what Apple shots would look like?  Ivan: *Sends a picture of of a syringe with an apple slice shoddily edited inside*  Baxter: *Sends a picture of a shot glass with an Apple poorly drawn inside*  Anton: *Sends picture of person dunking a Basketball into the hoop but replaced the basketball with a poorly resized apple*  Chris: I hate all of you.

Anton: Ivan and I were crossing the street, and this man drove by and honked at us.  TC: What did you do?  Anton: They chased him to the next red light, and reached into his window, and-  Ivan: *walking in* Who wants a steering wheel?

Chris: Is it still visible? Where Xever slapped me?  Ivan: Your face looks like a don't walk signal.  TC: Your face looks like a photo negative for the hamburger helper box.  Baxter: A palm reader could tell Xever's future by looking at your face.  Anton: The phrase 'talk to teh hand cause the face ain't listening' doesn't work for you, because the hand is your face.  Chris: ...A simple 'yes' would've sufficed.

Anton: What are you planning to do?  Chris: Hey, now. "Planning"?! Do you KNOW who you're talking to?!

Anton: I’ve done a lot of dumb stuff.  Chris: I witnessed the dumb stuff.  Xever: I recorded the dumb stuff.  Ivan: I joined you in the dumb stuff.  TC: I TRIED TO STOP YOU FROM DOING THE DUMB STUFF!

Baxter: *tapping fingers on table*  Anton: *taps fingers back furiously*  Xever: …What’s going on?  Ivan: Morse code. They’re talking.  Baxter: -.-- ..- .-. / - …. . / -.-. ..- - . … -  Anton: *slams hands on table* YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Ivan: What are you getting Xever for the holidays?  Chris: I don't know. It's kind of hard buying a gift for your partner when they already got everything they could've ever wanted when they married you. So I'm not sure yet.  Baxter: I'm getting Xever a divorce lawyer.

Just thought about how tall a bar top is 🤣 its in reference to a fic im writing and I had to laugh because I looked up how tall these normally are and what the heck 42 inches?? Thats 3ft 5 inches tall and I am short dear god that comes up to my chest just like the gif 🤣 i haven't been to a bar since before covid so I forgot it was that tall 🤣🤣🤣 also damn shredders tall 😳 I have him standing next to one in my fic and was trying to figure out dimensions when I looked both how tall a bar was and how tall he was 😂 it looks comical in my mind to be honest and I need to move things down now in the fic 😆

Could you give us some insights into how each member of the foot reacted towards Britney after meeting her?

hmmm this one i have been thinking about probably not great to be honest, mainly because she isn't known for being baxter's daughter or what her motivation is yet. Chris probably thinks she's a brat, a kid way over their head. The two will always have beef with each other, even in the most meniscal of ways. I think Xever and Britney would be on equal footing. Not friends, but shows a lot of potential. He notes how she can be tricky and fast, even to the most armature of levels. I had an idea in mind where Britney is trying to adjust her hair but keeps messing it up further, and he calls her over and quickly do it for her, which sparks the conversation, "How do you know how to do hair?" "I wasn't always a fish, you know." Karai doesn't see much in Britney but does get proven wrong often. They would probably make a good friendship, especially as a babysitter in a way. The two keep an eye out for the other. Tigerclaw refuse to have too many interactions with her. She's a kid that gets in the way, an enemy at most, and that's that. Britney has absolutely try to shoot him with her grandpa's shotgun. Bebop and Rocksteady are her UNCLES through and through. You cannot leave those three alone together, the amount of mischief and chaos they make is HORRENDOUS Shredder and Britney have met. He does not care for her, but he isn't afraid of hurting a kid who gets in the way. Also, tiny scene I had in my head where it's finally reveal who she really is, where she throws herself at Shredder and cling to his head and helmet and repeating "PATEL STOCKMAN. SAY IT. SAY IT CORRECTLY." before being thrashed against a brick wall. She's badly hurt from this point on and probably is noted as an enemy against the foot, and bait to use against Stockman. And then there's Hun. I won't give too much away right now but in the same gist of Jim and Strickler from Trollhunters, Hun becomes her purple dragon step dad and they constantly fight and beat each other up when Angela isn't looking.

Bradford is far too prideful and believes that he won't need any help. Considering he was second in command and Shredder's greatest student, I believe he viewed it as a lack of trust his master had in him. When Xever goes "are you sure, rich boy?" he instantly lashes out at him because he views it as a challenge, but the Shredder is not humoring their petty rivalry.

Bradford composes himself if only for a moment to tell him that they will do their job, but then walks away. He is angry and instantly uses one of his sparing partner, who was already defeated on the ground and tried to get up as a punching bag. He is using that guy as an outlet for his anger.

Bradford has a strong need to be in control of the situation and does not handle the loss of it well. He failed to catch the turtles and his master puts Xever in charge. His response is to bring up Xever's upbringing and generally has a tendency to be condecending.

Individuals who feel insecure about their own abilities or status may put others down to elevate themselves. It is something he does with Xever all the time.

In that episode, he was tied up and gagged inside a trash can by the turtles, rolled half across the city and even dropped. A humilating situation to be in for what is considered to be the Shredder's greatest pupil and definitely scratched into his ego.

His life depended on Xever in that moment. They told Xever to stop cutting the ropes or they will toss his friend of the building as well. But they are not friends, they are rivals / partners who were forced together, Xever has no intention of saving him and just tells them to go ahead.

Bradford is already terrified for his life, unaware that it is a bluff. They can't get themselves to throw him off that building.

The turtles were stuttering and surprised, so it was easy to figure out they wouldn't actually do it.

Bradford is actually mad enough to confront Xever about it too, which is interesting. They don't like each other, but Bradford is mad that Xever was indeed willing to let him die here.

"How could you be so sure they were bluffing?!" - "I wasn't."

I think that one was said to mess with Bradford. He already picked up on Leonardo's stuttering, the hesistation and nervousness of the turtles and just goes "that's what I thought".

Xever is attentive of things like that. It was obvious they would not throw him.

They beat the turtles and Xever is like "See, Bradford? That is how you catch turtles."

Playing right into his ego considering he instantly says that Xever would never have caught them without him.

Bradford was humilated that entire episode and now masks that up with his arrogance. It was a clear defense mechanism to hide his inner feelings about the situation, a shield to maintain what little control he had over the situation.

It is something that happens all the time. He does it with Xever, he does it with Stockman, he does it with Bebop and Rocksteady in the comic and he even attempts it with Tigerclaw.

When they are working with Stockman, he instructs them to move on his signal but Bradford was having none of it. He treats Stockman like dirt, reacts very aggressively and instantly starts threatening him and even gets physical before he takes the lead.

In a way, he attempts the same with Tigerclaw. When we were introduced to Tigerclaw, Rahzar makes an unsure growl when Shredder introduced him as the most feared assassin and is actually quiet when Tigerclaw enters the room. His position is also now replaced by Tigerclaw.

Shredder's sacred helmet was stolen under Bradford's watch and Bradford is aware regarding the history of it. So he knows if they fail to return it, he is screwed. Bradford gets teamed up with the tiger to find it, with the wolf using his scent.

Only? Tigerclaw appears to have a much better scent than him which activates his competition streak as if he is suddenly feeling inferior. I do believe he is feeling jealous and insecure in general whenever Tigerclaw is around, especially since he is also a rank above him now.

Tigerclaw, however, is having none of that petty rivalry and does not play into it like Xever always does.

"We are warriors. Can't we fight side by side without letting species get in the way?"

Tigerclaw even sounds upset by it and Bradford quickly agrees. But instead of taking accountability for it:

It was Bradford who tried to instigate something with Tigerclaw but when he is having none of it, he instantly uses Xever as a scapegoat instead of taking accountablity regarding his own insecurity.

Xever certainly managed to get into his head and since Bradford is already living in shame regarding their failures, it was easy to do. He would not bring that up otherwise - Bradford needed the reassurance from Tigerclaw that he does not actually hate him. Bradford feels insecure in his presence but that was under the assumption that the tiger hates him. So when Tigerclaw says it he realized that the tiger actually respects him as a fellow warrior and the two of them start working and talking effortlessly together.

He genuinely believed that Tigerclaw hated him because Xever kept teasing him about it and it is the funniest thing.

And I think he realizes how much Xever is actually in his head because:

It's the reason why he wants to eat him. Xever knows how to get under Bradford's skin and hits him where it hurts the most: his ego.

"I don't need any help. Especially from this street rat!"

"Are you sure, rich boy?"

"ANYTIME you want to test me.."

"See, Bradford? That is how you catch turtles. And next, I'll show you how to filet them."

"Oh, yes. What would we have done without your brave leadership from inside the trash can?"

"Tigerclaw hates you because you are a dog"

All Xever has do is use his words, sharper than any knife in his posession and he has Bradford riled up. Xever finds it even amusing.

It even sticks in his mind if the thing with Tigerclaw is anything to go by - for once Xever and him are apart and he still talks about him behind his back.

Bradford is highly competitive and has a strong need for validation and recognition. Additionally, factors like low self-esteem, fear of failure, or a scarcity mindset can drive individuals to compete intensely for resources or success.

Bradford posesses a rather bossy and controlling behavior and as stated, does not handle the loss of it well. He has an excessive control and domineering behavior towards the people he works with, disregards the opinion and ideas of others and drives to always be in charge.

Bradford exhibits his bossy behavior because he is deeply insecure, seeking to validate his own importance and competence.

It's a defense mechanism to mask himself. By trying to exert control over others, there is a temporary boost in self-esteem.

It gives him a sense of worthiness because that need for control comes from his own feelings of inadequacy.

Individuals often learn behaviors from their environment. If someone grew up in a household or community where aggressive or domineering behavior was common, they might adept those behaviors themselves.

Bradford is deeply insecure about himself and lives in shame after dealing with failure after failure. Chris Bradford is not confident in himself or his abilities.

Confidence emerges from a genuine belief in oneself, leading to positive self-assurance, openness to collaboration, and empathy for others.

Arrogance sterms from insecurity, resulting in an inflated sene of self importance and superiority. Arrogance is fueled by a need for constant validation and a desire to maintain an elevated status, often at the expense of others. Arrogance is driven by a fear of being exposed as inadequate.

Chris Bradford loves nothing more than talk about himself and himself only. His name and face has to be on everything. He is a famous material arts superstar and actor - all he wants is to be seen. It is how he props up his self esteem, he is even reliving his glory days by watching his cartoon and visiting the fansites.

Chris Bradford has a strong need to seek attention and approval. His main aspect he gets from the fame is the reward, the validation that he gets from people. It is one of his biggest motivations in life aside from his loyalty to his master.

With fame comes its own struggles. You become quite insecure need to maintain that particular status and standard of living.

Nobody knows the true Chris Bradford - he is an actor. He will change himself to appeal what the audience will like instead of showing his true self.
