What's the point of having a garden if I can't grill my summer squash?#Anyways. I hope this appeases the crowd that has been in arms about the prev prev poll.#I don't think teenji can cook. I think lan wangji is just very good at dedicating himself to whatever craft he needs to pick up.#give him a day and he will be a grill dad #the most powerful beast of the summer lawn biome.#Until then he will lie awake at night. Haunted by this inadequacy. He's just like me for real (chronic perfectionist).#I think this is the first domestic wangxian post i've made. Disney Dads are Twins

This thought just came to mind that Disney dads come in "twins". I'm sure Disney consumers have notice similarities before, but I had fun blowing my mind a tad by finding "Disney Dads" that seem to match in appearance, personality, or both (but mostly appearance).

Belle and Jasmine's dad: Short, pudgy guy who comes across as incompetent.

Ariel and Hercule's dad: Very muscular guy (and you can tell because his pecs are showing) with a full head and beard of white hair.

Aurora and Mulan's dad: On the tall and thin side, with black facial hair, and wants their daughter to come back home safely.

Moana and Pocahontas' dad: Ruler of a tribe that doesn't want their daughter engaging in their adventurous side.

My actual favorite fairytales are ones having to do with curses, getting turned into a beast, or accidentally/willingly/any-reason-ly marrying a beast or demon or monster. Prince Lindworm is one of my most favorite-est favorites. I had a pet corn snake at one point who I called Prince Lindworm (his real name was Slinky though). Other faves off the top of my head are East of The Sun, West of The Moon, The Demon in The Tree, and Featherflight.

#I also like deal with the devil/the devil and X stories a lot!#and any tale involving any type of curse or hex or geass #and I know it's silly but I do sort-of covet lesser-known fairytales and details from specific tellings.#also jsyk I don't care What the tale actually says in my mindpalace Featherflight is a giant just like her dad.#this same interest causes me to like Urusei Yatsura btw. it's so the same.#OH the tags are all a mess now but I ALSO WANTED TO SAY I recently found out that in different tellings of The Demon in The Tree people wil #change the type of food/offering given to the demon! which is obvious in retrospect but I didn't realize! I had only heard the version wher #you give the demon jam! and so that is my favorite version and the way I tell it too LOL. I love the idea of everyone intrinsically knowing #that demons just love jam #but anyway there are other variants where they give the demon different offerings as well! I can easily imagine asking the kids in the room #what it is that demon's love the most. and then whatever the kids pick is what the couple will offer the demon in that particular telling.#also yes duh yeah I like beauty and the beast! it's not really my favoritest. I like Prince Lindworm or Snow White Rose Red way more.#but there r some variants of beauty and the best that I like more than others. I am picky about it. which ultimately means I like it.

I think more adaptations of Beauty and the Beast need to add back in that long-ass spiel of Beauty’s overly complicated, needlessly dramatic lineage to explain why Actually she’s a Princess NOT a commoner don’t worry.

Like a movie where the original story happens, everyone’s happy, and then there’s just like 30 more minutes of backstory about characters we’ve literally never seen before this point all to lead up to Beauty’s birth.

#beauty and the beast #it’s literally so long and so wild #beauty’s mom is out on trial for a bit #there’s like 2 different fairies with different parts in the curse #and a third who’s the mom #the evil fairy who cursed the beast cursed him because he wouldn’t marry her #and said evil fairy is the JUDGE of the moms trial #and also tries to get with Beauty’s bio king dad #there’s a lot going on #fairy tales #fairytales

What's your favorite movie, and why is it your favorite?

Favorite movie? Man, this is gonna be a tough one…

I guess the first movie that comes to mind for me would be Beauty and the Beast… Belle is my favorite Disney princess and I feel like I can relate to her a lot… For one, I used to really love reading books as a kid (I still read books, just not as many at a time lol) and also I guess I never exactly fit in or had a set friend group (not because of books specifically but still). I also love how Belle is very kind and caring for those around her <3

Also I think it has an awesome story and beautiful music! (I’m sure most of you have seen it so I won’t explain the plot in detail) and I like how it teaches that beauty is found within and, though it’s hard to find in some people, you can find it when you dig deep enough <3

Also bonus but I love how Gaston is such a meme, like I have old memories of watching a ton of YTPs of specifically that song XD

Side tangent: Btw I hate the “live action” Beauty and the Beast, I don’t wanna make a whole yap post abt why but it’s just a worse version of the original animated film version in short

Also there’s like a broadway musical of it from like 1994 and the soundtrack on that one is awesome too i was addicted to it in 6th grade XD

Some other honorable mentions of movies I love would be Wreck-It-Ralph, The Lego Movie, The Phineas and Ferb Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, and Shrek XD

I have even less to say for these guys besides I love them dearly<3

fun fact ig: their last name (besides being the only ones so far to actually rlly get one??) came from me realizing a name based on Psyche would probs be pretty fitting Helene instead, but I'd already had Tyndare named and after some reasearch into stuff (Psyche's father isn't named in mythology) I decided to include it in the last name (as it does kind of fit for both of them in a sense)
