I hope that we made William’s birthday month as special for him as he made it for us.  A lot of lovely memories this month including adding a lovely sandbox to our Finca, and playing in a giant sandbox at Lake Michigan - the two best days. So many days centered our happy boy as he turned two. And while Mama worked her butt off this month, nose to the grindstone, we all leveled up making it through a 6 day separation - the longest since Mama went back to work.

Not pictured this month, but definitely worth mentioning is our own evolution that Audrie and I are going through - working hard to start writing whatever our next chapter will be.  Owning our shit, and being good partners.  We’re not perfect, but we’re doing the work; and this month we did a lot of good work (though most the credit goes to her).

One hilarious story about this month: a few months back Audrie had put my grey reducing beardwash into its own squirt jar instead of the bottle it comes in.  I immediately didn’t like the idea as I couldn’t shake it before use as easily.   This month, as I grew my beard out full I noticed it was getting darker and darker as I had reached the very bottom of the squirt jar - getting nothing but straight grey reducing dye.   My beard went 10 years younger for a point this month.  Maybe that squirt jar isn’t so bad.

William’s birthday party this month was Sesame Street themed and Jenna and Jose, as they always do, came through with some really awesome decorations for him to go with mama’s gluten free cupcakes.    Now that he’s two, the next big milestone is potty training and we’re working through the ups and downs and mishaps of that knowing its probably going to be the main storyline of the month(s) ahead.

Now we shove off into the back half of 2023.  A time to stop and reflect on intentions, make some plans, and pull forward the best intentions.  For me its also a good time to let go, free up some space, do some cleanse and start fresh.  So much more to write in this year.
