🌠Day 21: Beanstar/Dark Star 🌠

-losing so much to stars, losing so much to SUPERSTARS-

I find it very ironic that after Cackletta's plan of trying to use the Beanstar failed, Fawful tries to use the Dark Star but that ends up backfiring too

I've got an AU where Fawful survives after BIS, but realizes how much going after magical artifacts like this mess everything up, so he decides to try to make his own, might even try to revive the dead.

Fun fact, this is one of the very first drawing ideas I thought about for Fawful Month. I was inspired by a Sonic Movie 3 drawing that was like this but it was Sonic and Shadow on the lenses, I don't have the image on me sadly but it looked cool as hell

Wait I just realized something about Superstar Saga

Like no duh we know eventually that Birdie took Peach's place to foil Cackletta's plans but like I wonder why Birdo of all people was picked for this??

Game-wise it's probably to connect things together so when Birdie appears later with Popple it's a nice touch but like

I wanna know IN-UNIVERSE why, like did Birdie volunteer? Did Peach or Peasley pluck Birdie from somewhere?

And the implications of how the Beanstar works, with a pure voice/pure soul...(we never see it tested out with anybody else) but why did the Beanstar react SO BADLY to Birdie's voice?? Is....is she doing some things we don't know about?? Is she THAT unpure? Did they know about this and that's why Birdie was hired for the job?

(Personally I don't believe Peach's voice is the ONLY thing that can properly wake up the Beanstar despite what the game states)

Yep I'm definitely overthinking things again but it's food for thought yeah?

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, at one point during the plot, Mario, Peach, Toadsworth and Prince Peasley are waiting for Luigi to fall down from the sky in a specific spot. Peasley shows that he has retrieved the Beanstar briefly by holding it in his hand.

However, in the prototype version of the game, Peasley's "holding an object" sprite has not been implemented yet, and as such, a graphical error occurs where he briefly turns into a shocked green Mario instead.
