I want either Madara or Izuna as Falin. Thematically I think Izuna would fit best, but I kind of just wanna see chimera Madara more than Izuna. Also like, smthn smthn Madara's falcons smthn smthn bird boy,,,

Very torn between Tobirama being stand in for Marcille or for Thistle. Bc like, dungeon lord Tobirama with his chimera Madara goes so hard

Then again it's not like I have to do a 1 to 1 crossover, so. We can totally just work off of the setting and basic premise of "Oh no one of the party members got got by the dungeon and we have to go back for them" then do our own thing from there

(Note; Ive only watched the anime, so while I have seen a lot of different spoilers for the manga my knowledge plot wise p much ends w season 1)

The party;

Elf Hashirama as healer and plant magic guy

Half elf Tobirama as a heavy hitting mage

Tallman Madara on the physical front as their tank

Tallman Izuna as their secondary physical fighter who plays as a mixed support / dmg depending on the situation and what Madara needs most atm

Touka, undecided on race, similar dmg + support build to Izuna, also dabbles in rogue stuff

Hikaku, also undecided on race, party rogue / jack of all trades and armed with a crossbow

Ok so, Madara gets eaten by a red dragon right as one of the partys magic users (Hashi and Tobi) are using that return spell to go back to the surface

They wake up and Izuna is immediatley like "What the fuck happened to my brother"

Argument ensues! Hashirama and Izuna want to go back for Madara in the very rare case that he may be revivable. Tobirama and Touka thinks he's fucked and they should cut their losses here. Hikaku is somewhere between both parties but his loyalty to Madara wins out and he sides with Hashi and Izuna despite internally agreeing w Tobirama and Touka that it's probably too late.

They go back in and adventures happen!!

The whole time they're going down, Tobirama is grumbling about Madara and how this is doomed and the man is probably dead and blah blah blah. Finally Izuna snaps and yells at him ab why he's even here then, and Tobirama honestly doesn't even know why himself. He just goes dead quiet and has no real response, which satisfies Izuna

Queue internal conflict on Tobirama's part, who largley stops complaining ab their adventure from here on out as he asks himself that same question, then decides to fully commit to the party's goal.

Anyways, continuing on and !!! They find Madara !!! Only oh no he's a pile of fuckin bones!!

Tobirama, again, now fully committed to this shit, is like "I did NOT come this fucking far to turn back now" and breaks out the black magic.

P much everyone is on board with this except maybe Hashirama. Maybe we can have some fun plays with how he's like all about life and nature and ooo leafy elf man or whatever vs Tobirama's blasphemy against life itself necromancy jam

So they bring Madara back with the dragon meet and the power of Tobirama's undying spite, yay !!!

Madara is very confused at all of this, and very out of it. By the time he's started to really come back to himself dinner is over and they're all quietly laying in their bedrolls

I want a quiet confrontation between Madara and Tobirama when everyone's gone to bed. Madara needs some air and finds Tobirama by the seals used to bring him back to life. Madara says that it's not that he's ungrateful, but he is very, very confused at why Tobirama did this. Not only breaking several taboos and laws but doing it for him. Madara didn't even think Tobirama liked him, so why...?

Tobirama scoffs and says not to flatter himself, this was a choice he made for himself, not Madara

They hold very prolonged, silent eye contact surrounded by the blood and bones of the dragon. It's kind of gay.

Izuna appears to break up the staring competition with a well timed "What the fuck are you guys doing" (they'll just have to resume the staring contest later)

They go back to bed fr this time but just like in canon, Madara is woken up by the call of the dungeon master

Enter the mad mage; Mito

Instead of being the brother of the king of the golden kingdom she was instead the wife.

Oh right and the king was a little guy you may know of by the name Ashura. Which brings us a new oh no bc Hashirama is totally that guy's reincarnation and the second Mito lays eyes on him she loses it

But that's not for a little bit. Bc in this first confrontation, Hashirama gets to be conviniently absent till after Mito leaves (and Mito can only recognize him if she sees him in person bc I say so)

So Mito and Tobirama have a super cool mage battle as Izuna tries to shake a non responsive Madara back to himself. Good attempt, doesn't work tho sorry Izuna

Stuff happens, Madara and Mito fuck off, and the party is left back at square 1.

We get Kagami as Izutsumi to be our parties ninja cat boy (Kagami my beloved son,,) which is also extra fun if we wanna play into the parallels of Marcille trying to mom/big sister Izutsumi and Tobirama doing the same to Kagami (Kagami is soaking in the attention he is having a great time rn)

Stuff happens, chimera Madara appears, more adventures happen blah blah blah

Tobirama becomes new dungeon lord and bc I have no idea what goes on from dungeon meshi canon from there I'm just gonna leave that here.

Dungeon lord Tobirama and his pet chimera Madara he's trying to return human tho, that fucks so hard. Even once Madara is human again he still has all those cute feathers like Falin which I think suits him. When he gets all flaily and embaressaed now his feathers can fluff up with his hair too

Anyways, alternative kind of bad end where Izuna was the one who got turned into a chimera and we get definatley not brainwashed guys I promise toxic hashiizumito (Mito is living her best life with her reincarnated Not Kidnapped husband and Not Brainwashed pet chimera)

Mike’s wall art

I love seeing analysis about ST set design because it really spells out so much of the story without verbally telling you, and ive seen much discussion abt the details of mike’s room in s4 (that one way sign haunts me btw). buuut there are two pieces of visible wall art that I don’t really see get talked about on here (that i’ve read) and I just have a few things to say about them and what i think they might be telling us about Mike’s character and upcoming journey (hint: going into the UD)(hint: making plans and leading the party)(hint: byler)

so idk if this has been pointed out or if it’s common knowledge atp but the two pieces circled above are lithographs by artist MC Escher; Hand with Reflective Sphere (left)

The artwork is beautiful as you can see (canon Mike Wheeler has great taste in art). Escher was most known for his intricate “impossible constructions” which are optical illusions of paradoxical space, he was also the inventor of the impossible cube:

this is some pretty cool nerdy, mathy stuff that I’d expect mike would be into, but looking at it from the context of his character and the direction of where the story is headed, there were 3 immediate possible readings that popped into my head which point toward 3 different (yet coexisting) directions:

He likes the art — It’s true, this art taps into Mike’s interests. Valid but boring. zzzz. snooze. You could argue that these posters should be taken at face value, but I just feel like in a show like ST —where the main cast knows of and is in various ways affected by an evil alternate dimension— having a character with wall art that references perspective/dimensional anomalies doesn’t really tell us much about his specific character or story. We’ve known that the ST set designers use a character’s space to show us who they are as people, these two artworks need to tell us something about Mike and his journey. And maybe Mike’s sensibilities about the world at large are shifting into nihilism with everything that’s happened in hawkins and the art reflects an absurdist outlook of future (teenage stuff, growing up, etc. etc.)

It foreshadows Mike’s s5 arc — I love this one. Mike is one of the few in the main cast who haven’t been in the upside down proper, so this art could reference not only that he’ll go into the UD in s5 but also that there could be dimensional anomalies involved in his travel or journey there. Perhaps this is how they’ll be able to find Max— by bending the laws of physics and using the mechanics of dimensional travel against itself, perhaps to open new doors or travel in different directions (hint: time travel 😏). And i think the reason this art is in Mike’s wall is bc it will be Mike who formulates the plan to find Max and retrieve her with the help of El and Will’s new powers 😏 (g*d knows i want to see leader Mike make a come back)(and Will with powers).

Will Byers — we know Mike and Will are tied together by the narrative and so I think these artworks could be directly pointing to Will with big red arrows. This point is corroborated by simply analyzing the formal qualities of the artwork, both individually and as a set. Hand with Reflective Sphere is about optics and perspective, about seeing, but also about the flattening of space. Relativity is about space, dimension, and paradox, but also about impossible perspective/vantage point. When read together the objective reading of them is about sight and space and paradox, about how the flattening of space helps us see something new and impossible. While Mike hasn’t experienced the dimensional travel into the UD proper, many of those closest to him atp had; El, Will, Nancy… but the reason i think these two posters remind him of Will specifically is because out of everyone else who has been in the UD, only Will experiences the feeling of being stuck there and of seeing into both dimensions at once; the stuck view-master, true sight. Mike associates these things combined (dimensional travel and dimensional sight/perception) with Will.

Also, Mike is a nerdy guy, he seems interested in this kind of stuff for the fun of it so he could’ve had sciency charts that reference the subject of visible light and paradoxes the way Suzie does, but instead he has not one but two fine-art pieces by a pretty big graphic artist that reference the subject of sight and space. Also, Idk what it is about the fact that it’s fine-art and not movie/game/dnd art that makes me also associate it with Will— the self-proclaimed visual artist of the show. The words are all jumbled up in my head rn but; artist. sight. all-encompassing. dimension. paradox. new perspective. -> -> -> -> Will Byers (is this a hint to wills powers??) etc. etc. etc. you get it

Secret 4th option (ties into #2)

Mike gets Vecnaed and this forces him into extensive self-reflection and the labyrinthian trials of finding himself and mastering his fears(maybe he’s already begun his self-searching and that’s why we see this art at the beginning of s4). cue cool musical montage of Mike navigating his own memories and mind-scape to find the answer that will make everything make sense while also hiding from vecna and buying the party time to find a way to end him.

ive been soo sleepy recently i have no idea why!! surprisingly i had a pretty good day despite having several anxiety attacks in quick succession over like 2 1/2 hours bc of threats (later tw for school violence after coord pics) at a nearby school and things of that nature (っ◞‸◟ c) on the bright side, my math teacher said i give him the vibes of someone who is more naturally good at math (im not but ill take the compliment!!) so that was a good pick-me-up!!

i actually have 2 coords to share bc i didn't post what i wore saturday to my sister's spelling bee! that was also a good day this lady asked to take a picture of me she was freaking out she kept repeating how cute i was it was really sweet all the parents of the other contestants were sweet (for the most part ... i did glare at some ladies for enabling their child - who lost to several girls! - to be sexist and also for excessive talking ONLY during my sister's turn as her and the boy who got first went back and forth for about 20 minutes before he eventually won with the words dreidel and greengage.. y'all my sister got some obscure italian word but ok!)

it was actually insanely stressful the school where the threats were made got made virtual today (and hopefully the rest of the week) we get threats like this fairly often but this is the first time in a good minute the police are actually looking into it and honestly it was so overwhelming i saw the metal detectors again and just started sobbing this happens every couple weeks - it doesn't help i have a really bad anxiety disorder & my counselors advice was simply to "stay off my phone in the morning" but i hadn't even seen the threats themselves until later that day - i only knew abt it bc i had a friend who wasn't coming to OUR school bc of the threats and needed me to pick up her work! even more worryingly the counselor didn't even know abt the shooting threats or anything like that, the communication is seriously lacking across the county - the reason WE had metal detectors was bc of a planned protest! at some point i literally started spiralling and just had to keep telling myself "i am too cute to be this stressed" but ALL the high schools got put on soft lockdown all day, AND my siblings' middle school had metal detectors too - honestly this whole thing is going way too far and i have reason to be this stressed and i hate when adults treat me like im crazy for being stressed?? esp when we had an incident at my school DURING an open gate and i watch the extra officers there to "help" sit on their phones and do nothing :C there was a big shooting (national news) at a nearby-ish school earlier this school year (nearby-ish as in like different county but i know multiple people who live here yet have people there they went to school with prior who were at that school and either died or are severely traumatized) and yes while this stuff isn't my usual super happy - or at least entertaining - stuff, it's super important to think about the real people who are effected by crazy stuff like this even if it doesn't make news! (but actually this incident - at least the shooting part - is on local news so..) please please please stay safe and vigilant this kind of stuff is only gonna get worse!

Can you further explain the idea of garth being an emotions guy? I find all the different ways you look at him to be very interesting and would love to hear that interpretation of his character!

ill try to somehow organize my thoughts rn because im not entirely conscious rn but i think i got it first and foremost from the fact that most of his moveset is about causing reactions on other people, most notably negative emotions which get worse the more he levels up. it's also interesting to me that his agreeable drawing can cure such harsh status effects as scared or depressed i used to envision him as someon who was empathetic but not kind (since those ar different) i think uhhh i think it might be important to him as an artist to get appreciation but also for his art to mean something, ive been wondering for years what the actual quality of garths art might be and a thought that occured to me was that he basically weaponizes how disliked he Is lol . whwther his art is Shit or if the stuff hes into is just not everybodys thing i think he couldve grabbed this and used it agaisnt other people. it could also have to do with whatever controlling thing he has going on, being fascinated by human beings' emotions and wanting to get a hold on them? Strange artist anctics? hoewever that's spelled. art and the need for connection etc etc. a moot said something days ago about how he couldve be compensating Sort of for relapsing; i tend to think he is actually not as in control of himself as he could be and this shows to me at the end of the game where his actions in battle contradict his dialogue like seconds ago a little which shows that he's literally just some guy whos horrible not a god like entity of sorts for having a hold on what people feel. i wonder if his joy addiction could play a part on this too? since i believe joy maximizes feelings a person already has and garth as this guy trying to gain benefit from his art during the current events somehow decides the whole situation is made for him to do as he will but he just falls on the same traps he sets for other people. i see him as a guy that's very desensitized to the problems around him basically focusing too much on shit that does not even matter. hes very interesting to me!!!!! he's an asshole!!!!!!!

on the topic of garth being controlling i wonder if it's like the result of just being inconsiderate/ creepy to others or if viceversa it's a side effect of his artistic vision being too importabt to him and him prioritizing it over everything it could be either! it could be the result of him being a weird pervert but ive also seen people say he might not even be a pervert and he likes to fuck with people! idk! another fun thought ive had of this is how well this works on behalf of how his character works in regards to the players because whether someone feels positively or negatively towards him it tends to be expressed really loudly and it's like LOL because i think that's precisely what he wants he just wants to make u feel something anything the only way to beat him is to not gaf i guess….

another side thought i had which is literally just me Making shit up and that some friends agreed with me in is that garth severely lacked attention in his infant years LOL and you know how that goes

i really really like the choice to add that "Garth doesn't want to do this…" text at the end bc it really does not solve anything and such a sudden change of heart does not really matter to anyone other than himself and Maybe the player it's just there to show u this guy is just another human being who thought too high of himself it's cool i love when the horrible companions start tweaking at the end it's tragically funny.

Ive always like the idea of a khajit being brought into twst, bc i started skyrim when i was 16, so i imagined my cat girl to be my age so by the time i finished the game i was 20 and fully dragonborn'd up so liek.. what if a 20 yr khajit (or any race from skyrim) gets isekaid to twst? That is honestly a great question, as someone who also had a Khajit cuz 10 year old me was like ooh kitty (I named her Zara). Granted I haven’t played in so long, but I’ll try to bring up what I remember. Watched so many modded play throughs.

Granted I apologize this might not be exactly what you were hoping for in this ask. I just hope this at least makes sense as I go through the main aspects. My brain first went into this like “How would it be?”.

I’ll use neutral ways to refer to our lovely kitty Dovakin.

Magic, shouts and the Dovakin aspects are general.

I feel like everyone would be so confused as to what magic they have. Plenty of people have already wrote up headcanons on magical girls or other stuff from other worlds but I haven’t seen this yet.

Khajit specifically, since beastmen are not that fur or feather covered they would obviously look at one quite curiously. There’s quite a few variants of them across games/regions. Depending on how certain people feel they could be territorial. Khajit are usually able to adapt to any region they go to, though TWST is set much farther in time so depending on how many ruins they’ve experienced and they might understand a bit of it. Phones would still be very confusing and social media.

I still imagine most close to them would have intrusive thoughts about how the fur feels. They could accidentally scratch someone if they’re taken by surprise. Everyone would need to keep a roller nearby since the fur can get everywhere.

Them asking where the nearest tavern is for some ale or wine would be great. Leona might help if they’re close enough to see who can last the longest drinking.

The magic in Skyrim is based on purely mana and there’s no waste like blot. Shouts is a whole different story too. Though there is plenty of similar basic spells that would be “normal”, but making a sword out of thin air from mana? Is that your unique magic? No? What do you mean?

There’s so many spells that would leave people gawking, and artifacts too. The staff of the god of chaos, that would be hilarious until you turn someone into a sweet roll accidentally. Imagine they’re the leader of the mages too in Skyrim, and correcting methods of magic in the world of TWST.

Shouts deserve their own paragraph. Like slow time is so op, and the Dovakin would immediately be made one of the strongest wizards. Shouts would make Overblot incidents over so quickly. Disarm is obvious, Become Ethereal is op, Bend Will op, Call of Valor literally summons the heroes across space and time for aid, and would Dragonrend work on Malleus? They’d be way too powerful for the world of TWST in short.

Call dragon would be interesting, but if that doesn’t work due to being in another world there is Summon Durnehviir could work since it crosses a dimension already from the Dawnguard dlc.

The Dovakin aspect is also something to consider since there’s Malleus a dragon fae. Would he sense it? Would Leona hate the smell of lizard you have? There’s a little bit to think about, but all quite interesting.

If it was ever brought up they bare dragon blood in their veins and know many dragons but have also killed many in the war that went beyond the living realm. Imagine the silence and jaw dropping from many staff and students. The strength to kill multiple dragons and maybe taking on two at once (unfortunately did in a city, I was confused by how many roars I heard).

The odd skills would be so useful though, lock picking, the strength to haul all those sweet rolls (does everything disappear into their inventory?), unfazed by undead, ambidextrous dual wielding, potions is alchemy, silent walking gets you tea and not even Khajit hear you. Lots of odd things to think about regarding it.

if an idol has had bad juju done to them or evil eye whatever you want to call it if they are not aware of it can it be severe? but if they eventually become aware of it will it wear off in time or is it something that always lingers on them? they seem quite spiritual over in sk and id be surprised if some hadnt heard of it or werent aware of it. i mean health issues generally come with what they do naturally but ive seen articles of other idols complaining of issues and then they wind up in hospital bc of it.

for me, being cursed is most often associated with an excessive accumulation of negative energy or such sudden fatigue that it feels like i want to sleep, and it is rare that you can cast curses on your own from other people (or as happens with me, take them from other people, in this case, my twin flame) and clear them. i don't think they are exactly magic, because certain spells are for the intentions that we direct and things get a little mixed up, because the difference in spells (for me) is in the way we set our intentions, like spells with jars and the like are clearly intensified. when someone (because this can happen to anyone) feels that they are cursed, most often someone else casts a spell on them (i am talking about a spiritual healer, to remove the curses), that is, to remove the accumulated bad in them and replace it with more positive energy. it can suddenly get bad, but in my opinion there must be other factors - low vibrations, irregular actions in the recent past (both ours and those of our loved ones/relatives, because their karma can also be felt by us) for things to become terrible. just from the kind of things you're asking me about, at least as i understand it, because orthodoxy (i follow this religion/faith) is different from the beliefs and religions in south korea, it's difficult for something to become so bad and so complicated. separately, some words in bulgarian (specifically the one i'm looking for, урочасан, it's ... not exactly cursed) are not in english and i'm trying to look for any synonyms, so sorry if you don't understand me much.

incoming hot take/rant about natsu and his romantic pairings and his understanding of love

gonna say something thats gonna get me in trouble

natsu has more objectively romantic moments (and i would even dare to say romantic chemistry) with lisanna than lucy.

now, with that being said, i like n*lu more than i like n*li (i do still like n*li tho. dont know why pol hate it sm. its cute!). but like. on a romantic level, natsu has veryyyyy little moments w lucy. he has way more emotional, powerful, and deep moments with lucy. but they’re not romantic.

but as its been shown especially in 100 yq, natsu doesnt really have a grasp on romantic love. he doesn’t get flustered or blush around lucy (for the most part), he doesn’t understand that lucy clearly has romantic feelings for him, and i think the most obvious piece of evidence of this is in 100 yq when that lady (please forgive me i rly have a hard time keeping up w all the villains) cast that spell that made snow dolls out of “the woman held closest in ur heart” or whatever. for gray, just juvia appeared. for natsu, literally every girl in ft appeared.

i just feel like even in the very small moments natsu and lisanna have, and as insignificant as they are in recent ft, natsu always seems a little nervous/shy. at least in old ft. now, its also very obvious that these moments of awkward natsu who may or may not have a crush on lisanna are waaaaaay less frequent now. but in the very beginning of ft when we first learn ab lisanna was literally the most romantic interaction ive seen natsu have with anyone. and i would argue this is the most romantic interaction his character has EVER had. in the whole series.

now, im not an idiot. i know nalu will be end game. as they should be!!! they have arguably the strongest bond of literally anyone in the whole show. u cannot deny their insane compatibility and how they just make sense! i also know that natsu loves lucy more than ANYONE (ok maybe other than happy. theyre prob tied). but i think natsu doesn’t differentiate this from romantic love. YET.

i think something will definitely go down where natsu has this huge revelation that he not only loves lucy but is IN love with her.

but for right now, the most romantic interest natsu has expressed with another person is lisanna. im standing by that.

there should also be something said for the fact i feel like mashima dumbed natsu down over the years???? like in the beginning he was playful, optimistic, brash, and fun loving. i think he is still all of these things but mashima has steadily made natsu less and less understanding of social queues and more socially unaware. idk if that makes sense.

^but i feel like if u asked ep 1 natsu the difference between love and romantic love, he would be able to tell u. now, i dont think he understands the difference. i do think this will change, but for rn thats how i see it.

behold, all art of wit i have including one i havent posted here bc i never actually finished it and the wip of him being a silly giggly boy. pls know i came up with him like MAYBE a month ago. two, tops.

SO wit is actually a what-if au of another oc of mine, his name is doodle. doodle (seen below) is a very robin-hood-esque oc, honorable thief and kindhearted, swashbuckler rogue that dual wields rapiers bc hes insane. but hes insane in like a normal way. he was a horrible child but he did grow out of it and its rare to see him w his hair down so pardon me making him look absurdly pretty in that one.

as you can see there are some (but not MANY) differences between the two. kid wit does have the starry hands/peets im just forgetful dont @ me about it djdjdj

ANYWAYS so the what-if of the au that wit is, essentially, little singular things didn't happen to people in that au world. it goes like so;

wit: never met his childhood best friend when he was a freshly injured orphan. was alone from the (elf) ages of 0-16. ended up studying magic (illusion wizard) since he didn't have someone to lean on for that sort of thing.

laika (wit's mom): never truly broke out of an archfey's madness curse. stuck with a very twisted version of the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter burned into her mind. everything is funny and if it's scary? even funnier. she died briefly. shes back now, but still madnessed.

perseverance (wit's dad): never saved his mother from a death blow in the be-all end-all fight to save his home. was held back by someone who he thought was a friend, killed that person and then ultimately spiralled so hard that he became a lich. may or may not have accidentally killed laika.

something something one decision can change your whole life, me and my friend loved playing with that concept.

okay now that you know a lil lore/history i can dive into what wit is like.

as a kid (drawn with the short megafloofy hair) he's very mischievous and bastardly, almost always smiling or grinning but it's more to lean into the uncanny valley effect his eyes cause than out of any actual joy or anything. he doesn't Blink and he knows it unnerves people because he also has a freakishly high insight (i think its like a +9 or smth??? at level 9??). he loves to come up with fucked up spells, like. for example i saw a silly post on here the other day that was very jokingly having a wizard cast a spell of "10000 bricks until you die" but then i was immediately aware wit would (1) come up with that spell, make it functional, and have it unfortunately obliterate everyone that gets hit with it, and (2) he would call it Wit's Bricks which i think is fuckin funny. he would also come up with spells of like. cause heatstroke. boil all fluid in your body. FREEZE all fluid in your body. he's a little freak with extremely low empathy for those he isn't connected to with blood ties. that said, he's kind to his family (albeit very blunt and will call them out if theyre being stupid) and inquisitive. he DID look his dad in the eye when he met him for the first time and went "are you dead?" which. again, hilarious, but BRUTALLY blunt. he then called his dad cool because yes his dad is now a lich and therefore undead. he's a little freak but he's still a kid and that is ultimately his saving grace, what small child isn't a little freak.

as an adult (long ponytail) i get a feel of him being aro and using romance as a way to manipulate people. he's definitely still not a good person and far more stoic than he was as a child. also he most definitely maintains a constant illusion to make it seem like his eyes are always closed, which lends an air of mystery to the strange elf that seems to always be standing right behind every throne in every kingdom of faerun. i say this because i like to think he would become what's called a King's Wit, which is like a combo of royal advisor, court mage, and "guy the regent has insult other nobility since insults are beneath the reigning royal". he uses all of that to his advantage, gaining the ear and trust of every single person of noble blood that is part of any royal or ruling court, and he will bend and twist their choices so subtly that they won't realise he led them to ruin until it's already too late. which is his ultimate plan. he's STILL somewhat a robin hood style of character, but he takes it a bit further and with far less kindness to the nobility. he guts their coffers completely and every hoarded coin down to the last copper inevitably will land its way conveniently into the lap of the common folk. he does take a healthy chunk for himself - did you know being a wizard was EXPENSIVE in dnd btw? i didnt until i made wit - but most of it is for the local citizens. he does this everywhere he goes if he sees that it needs to happen. fucker topples kingdoms For Fun, because he never gets caught or credited with the ruin he leaves behind himself. he's awful. he probably still comes up with fucked up spells and he manipulates his way into wherever he wants to be. i love him.

RUBY

behold! @polterpumpkin drew my (not very) little guy for me! this is part of a greater set but this is the fully coloured one and arguably my fave bc it captures the absolute batshit energy ruby brings to the table.

ruby is a tiefling that was born in a lab. voluntarily, his parents participated in a sort of study that wanted to eval why it is tieflings could be born to non-tiefling parents. (both his parents are half-orcs, interestingly!) he participated in it up to a certain point, before he got sick of being poked and prodded and Watched. that's when he demanded to be released and, when he wasn't, both his parents helped him escape, unfortunately leaving his other two tiefling-born siblings behind in the process. both parents Died helping him escape, and he was embittered as is by the whole study bs, and then to have his parents die Saving him? it left him with this sort of hole he didn't know how to feel.

so he fills that hole with every vice he finds agreeable. he drinks, he fights, and he drinks again. he's a drunken monk, and one full of unbridled rage and a death wish. he isn't my happiest oc but he isn't my worst off (that would be talisman bloodhunter). he's constantly seeking a grand and worthy cause to die for, literally. he's a wannabe martyr, because he doesn't think he has anything to live for. no lovers, no friends, no allies, MAYBE a coworker or two on the occasion he's needed (he is so not needed most of the time, because it isn't often any job needs an angry monk tief to glare around the place). he has just those two sides to himself - party animal and underground drunk brawler - because he doesn't want to think about the pain underneath them both. he's tragic in a very human way, hilariously enough, but he's not a bad person. even if he's being dragged by the tail to do a job, he's ultimately going to be helpful and he ALWAYS keeps his team alive. he'll grumble about it but he'll do it, and if you thank him he brushes it off, muttering something or other about how it's just his job, don't Thank him for that. i think having a friend would Fix him but fuck if i know what would get past his thick skin 😔

i dont get to play or write ruby really, not for any specific reason other than the dnd games im in have been going for So long, and that i havent really been super inspired to write him. but i love him! literally my car is named after him! i have so many feelings for him and i hope one day i get to play/write him so he can be more fleshed out.

im studying french and recently had to learn words relating to marriage, one of which was un fiancé/une fiancée.

the english definition was fiancé/fiancée. and wtf. i had no idea that this word had two different spellings based on gender for my entire life. ive always been unsure on how to spell it bc ill think to myself "im sure ive seen it spelled with another e or with only one e before but that cant be right" and convinced myself that i must have hallucinated one of the two spellings. why is this the only english word that keeps this gendered spelling system from french as far as im aware?????? why did nobody ever tell me this???????

im so glad u watched 19 bc i truly have soooo many thoughts on like theres so much potential & really good scenes there but so many misses. the tex part is easily the best part of it though i still cant believe it actually happened. i kinda wish sarge's death was off screen like you see them watch him die but give him no final words sort of deal... i feel like it wouldve been a better plot device rather than the longer scene if sarge saying what he's feeling as he dies. sorry i keep thinking about that its my main thing i wouldve changed. well that and putting wash back in prison instead of a mental facility because i think a prison break with untreated mental illness couldve done more than ....... whatever the hell the wash scenes were. restoration is easily the best set up for fanwork ive seen in a while tho NGL the meta tucker concept is soooo fun i wish it got explored more. sorry im rambling in ur askbox now LOL

YESSS sorry for the late response. im glad rvb restoration dropped hwen it did so ic ould watch it irl with my girlfriend but it did happen to be during the most busy month of my year so obviously my blogging has been completely slacking. i really love this final line that apparently sarge was going to say. i think its more sweet and poetic than him spelling out how hes feeling about simmons and grif in particular

no yeah my biggest issue is just like. this felt like a vehicle for like, meta scenes saying goodbye to the reds and the blues, but the actual like "plot" of the season didnt really have any time to develop and had to just be quick weird scenes that were just kind of tonally dissonant and not really polished or treated with the same kind of care and deftness he was able to handle mixing the humor and plot elements of the recollections trilogy. both due to the runtime, him being out of the game for so long, and needing to do a full plot in one season instead of three. it really felt bare bones. which is fine it's just like, obviously you can see that its not the best, and i feel like if it was going to just be a vehicle for sappy goodbye to rvb as a property scenes i wish it had just gone all in and given us more interactions between the different characters. idk. im not really sure how id fix it aside from just having my own completely differnet version of their future in my head but ive already kind of written that post out for my post chorus vision lmao. dumpster baby forever...

META TUCKER IS REALLY FUN AND I COULDNT BE TOO MAD AT IT because it was literally a type of concept that epsilontucker riffed on after the open ended s13 (oh my god rip epsilontucker i think im gonna be sick). but his scenes again felt pretty jarring nad just put in there to keep the season moving and wahh why did they torture him for 10 fucking years ahhh scary AHHH. yeah, now that you said it it really does feel like. the bare bones of an incredible 250k word fanfic written by someone who has a different more serious tone than the original series like, put my guns in the ground style, moreso than an rvb season LMFAO but that's fine if anyones still in the fandom and cares to do that i'd love to see it. idk. im rambling. it was a good fun stream and i liked individual scenes but it was definitely all over the place for me

-hmm theres a point in which i have to tell myself not to worry about likes or comments bc what really matters is me getting the practise and exercising my writing muscles and having fun with it... But. i do wish i could get more ppl into my toy story fic. its got a whole bunch of wonderful comments and kudos and stuff, i just feel so proud of it and writing it came so easy and i poured so much of my love into it, i really really wish anyone who loves these characters would read it too.

🎀 give yourself a compliment about your own writing

-english is not my first language so grammar isnt often The Best, but i take a lot of care with using words and expressions as correctly as possible, and I try to always spell words right (i dont think ive ever confused loose and lose, for example, which ive seen confused a few times). some descriptions of spaces are particularly well done, at least to my own criteria, and the song choices are fun (or at least fun to write and picture in my head).

🎈 describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?

- honestly, ive no idea. i think i get verbose, and i write long dialogue scenes. i overuse the — to lead into another thought, because thats kind of like how my mind works. i try to be "cinematic" in my writing and always start a scene with a description of a place, its lighting and its sounds, like im used to when writing scripts. and i got the sense that usually the characters often ramble and go on long discussions about stuff that maybe normal people wouldnt just start out discussing so strongly. but honestly id much rather someone else outside my own perspective told me what my writing is like, i would trust them more than my own opinion.

💞 what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language

-the characters!! everything is important, and stuff like grammar often jumps out first for me... but i need to enjoy how the characters are written, and feel like theyre real people with genuine motivations and interactions. i dont mind too much if theyre not super alike to canon, as long as they feel true to the core of their personality and values.

💝 what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

-i was surprised to even get comments on my barbie frankenstein one. i loved writing it and it came through so easily and comfortably, but even though i had used that moderately popular meme of reimagining barbie as a gothic protagonist as inspiration i didnt really think it would be anything but something i liked to picture existing. i was so happy to see people enjoyed it too.

-the tiff fic :'^) ive always liked writing sorta dark stuff, ever since i was little, but this was on another level. sometimes i felt (and still do) feel a bit awkward bc i really do push myself to write stuff i feel a bit embarrassed or shocked by, but i do think that if i want to be a better writer it does me good to make an effort to depict stuff that makes me uncomfortable and seek to write it in a sense of finding a way to both make if effective and relatively tasteful (or at the very least in-character).

🎙️which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of?

- i have never heard about pod-fic before, but i guess i can imagine what it is (wonder if its like an audiobook, or if it has sound effects and the like??). i would love to listen to an audiobook of the barbie frankenstein fic mostly bc i would love so so much to hear the dramatic literary dialogue ive written in kelly sheridans barbie voice. also now that i think about it i have no idea what the creature would even sound like... that would be an interesting challenge.

🤲 what do YOU get out of writing?

-practise writing in english, a sense of accomplishment (when i get to finish something!!) and every once in a while some strong validation in the form of ppl liking what i write... all of it is super valuable to me, especially practise and the push and drive to finish stuff to upload, but the validation in particular just really hits that dopamine in my brain i guess

-its from the glen and glenda fic im halfway planning! i got a few dialogues written and some scenes sketched out, but its still a long way to go. im very excited about it tho! ive grown to really love the versions of the twins ive made in my head. hopefully theyre faithful to their screen depictions while also adding a bit more depth and character building ive wanted to take them through.

Probably gonna get flamed for this but thats fine. I know ive been seeing ppl say that its fine 3@rth5park is like hamfisted on its message bc its for kids but its like, if you've seen the 0wl H0use you can tell the difference between ppl who know how deliver a complex and nuanced story for kids and ppl who don't.

I also think a major issue with 3@rth5park is that its clear the writers arent all in agreement on what the actual backstory is and what theyre trying to say with the elements at play. 0wl h0use has a very clear and concise idea of what Bel0s is in the narrative and how all of the actions of him and also the C0llector are coming into the story and its very consistent on its themes and how they solve problems in the narrative (i mean last episode isnt out yet so 🤞) but with 3@rth5park its confused as hell on what it wants to say and contradicts itself and I think a lot of that is there is no actual idea for how the characters ended up where they are. I assume there's a production note somewhere thats three lines that gives them a basic run down but I don't think any of the writers actually have a fully written out idea on how our characters got to Earth and how thats driving/motivating the characters. I don't think I'm reaching at all to say so because of how confused the DC0N storylines are. We have episode 4 saying anyone who wears the badge is making the choice to do bad, we have soyjack Blitzw1ng at washington but also for whatever reason a Meg@ tr0n statue there bc he's a great hero to the moment. Tar@ntulas says he never wanted to be on that side/was forced to, and of course big idiot in silver saying it was about fighting oppression meanwhile purple idiot has a secret army waiting to be used whenever <- things ppl dont do when they come to a new place with good intentions

Like, these are not a cohesive idea and you could make it one if you had any idea of what the backstory was but as it stands, it's a jumbled mess of ideas.

"Its for kids so it can be simple and handfisted" but this isnt simple, this is confusing, and its not a great message when one half of your story is trying to wrestle with complicated story abt dispora and immigration and being a second generation kid and then the other half is oh, but their parent's generation showed up to kill everyone.

Like, this is basic media literacy. I shouldn't have to spell out why tying those two ideas together is actively wrong but also actively deterimental to the important part of the narrative which doesnt have anything to do with big silver idiot's nonsense
