Toge's initial impression towards others is always being quiet, aloof and distant–intimidating at most.. when you were introduced as a first year student (after yuta), you were very intimidated with everyone around because it seemed like they already have created their own friend group, being left out was your current situation now.

Lately you've been feeling some stares around you whenever you were walking or just doing anything in general.. u were creeped out, like REALLY creeped out bc u couldn't seem to find where it was coming from.

A few days later, you've started being close friends with yuta and maki, you eventually opened up about being intimidated by their other friend who goes by the name "inumaki toge" saying that he doesn't answer anything u say and u took it wrongly by thinking that he was "ignoring" u

You later then realized he was born with the "snake and fangs" seal of the inumaki clan on his tongue and both of his cheeks (you were adoring him the whole entire lesson during class..) and that he couldn't be able to speak to others because of the possibility of harming them

But something was weird, if you and inumaki were always left alone he would somehow disappear the minute you blink?? AND IT WAS OFTEN so you asked for maki or yuta for advice

They told you something about how he's afraid he might have too much fun talking to you (he always adored and eavesdropped on ur conversations with yuta and he always ends up laughing) and he'd accidentally harm you with his technique.

On toge's pov, he obviously fell in love with u and had a slightly HUGE crush on you. On his side, he started making new words from other ingredients to confess to you which you'll never find the meaning about bc it's hidden to him only

everyday, you always saw little notes given by someone anonymous with ingredients written on them (u were confused at first and thought that someone had placed a grocery list in ur locker by mistake)

IT WAS SO.. painfully obvious for maki and yuta yet the both of you seemed so blind to see that u guys were both IN !!! LOVE !!! WITH !!! EACH !!! OTHER !!!

let's just say you guys ended up confessing in the end when you saw him putting the anonymous notes in your locker one day.. you confessed to him that you always knew it was him and knew what the meaning was behind to all those "grocery" notes he gave you

Let's go back to the time maki or yuta told you about how he didn't wanna interact with you because he was scared to approach you and might harm you with his technique because he'd have too much fun with you. you basically took note of that immediately and realized how protective he really is even if they were strangers, you dedicated a notebook for him which you wrote things that he'd say and what it would mean whenever it's being translated by yuta and made it your goal to be friends with him (you were lying to yourself that u only wanted to be friends w/ him)

soooo.. that's how you both ended up together.. you gave him your notebook that was dedicated to him and he saw the things you wrote about him everyday and the daily notes he gave you were all there, so you teased him by translating the things that was written there. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF you confessed in riceball ingredients to show how much you've learned about him AND HE BECAME SOOOOOO FLUSTERED AND RED WAS ALL OVER HIS FACE.

hes a rlly shy boy tho, at the first few weeks of u guys dating he'll be hinting that he really wants to hug u, touch ur hair, etc.. but hes still sooooo clingy even when hes shy so u have to be patient with him when he can't tell u what hes feeling <3

so pls pls be patient with inumaki :(( its already hard for him ever since he knew about his cursed speech and im very sure you guys will find ways to communicate better than just speaking with affirmation

you ended up buying him a soundboard for his birthday and he'd constantly played the sound "i love you" which has your voice in it..

texting is also very often even when you guys are together, you just basically grew into that habit of texting each other just to communicate ever since

his major call signs with you are: baby and love <33 (i just cant imagine him being serious when hes such a cutie)

he loves you very much because he would probably be one of the people hard to love especially with his cursed speech but you're different far from others and he really got attached with you and plans to never let go.

What the relationships between different Hermits and Kid Xelqua are like:

POSITIVE!

Mumbo - Pretty positive all things considered. He manages to entertain him, and generally is a good uncle figure.

Scar - The favourite. Scar gives him unlimited access to snacks and all sorts of unhealthy food (much to Grian’s chagrin). Once gave him so much sugar, Xelqua entered a 5 hour long sugar rush. Grian still hasn’t forgiven him yet because it was an absolute nightmare.

Doc - Surprisingly positive. Despite Doc’s turbulent relationship with Grian, Doc has a soft spot for kids. He’ll drop any kind of tension when Xelqua’s around to not worry him. He’ll still absolutely body Grian, but usually when Xelqua isn’t looking.

Pearl - Due to her leniency, Xelqua likes her. He can get away with anything when she’s around and generally doesn’t impose any harsh rule of punishment on him

Etho - He just thinks Etho is cool (usually because he keeps maple candies in his pockets). An Ethogirl in the making.

NEUTRAL!

Joe Hills - He’s a living Sesame Street styled puppet and Xelqua keeps mistaking him for a normal puppet toy. He once nearly suffocated poor Joe by hugging him a little too tight around his neck.

Xisuma - Barely sees him and for good reason. Xisuma has enough on his plate as admin, he doesn’t need to have to add “babysitting a god” on his plate as well.

Impulse & Skizz - They help Grian out occasionally to watch over Xelqua. Typical fun uncles you can find, but Xelqua doesn’t know much about them or why Skizz gives him the heebie jeebies when he unfurls his Angel wings or when Impulse reveals his full demon form.

Gem - Like Impulse and Skizz, generally friendly with Xelqua, but he’s unsettled by her, but he doesn’t know why. Maybe he senses that Gem isn’t truly a deer satyr and something to do with the rustling in the forests and night and the lingering smell of blood on her.

NEGATIVE…

Cleo - She’s scary to him. Like how you would be scared of the principal when you were a kid in elementary school.

Cub - All the fireworks he uses this season are too loud for him. He has to cover his ears everytime he has to go near the shop.

Joel - Xelqua keeps walking in in Joel in the most embarrassing moments. Like seeing him cry in front of the statue of his wife because she isn’t in the server, falling down an entire flight of stairs, reading Iskall’s creepy Yandere letters, etc. There were several moments where Joel had to cover Xelqua’s mouth because he was about to air all his dirty laundry.

of course Scar is the favourite, Xelqua would love his builds, he’d like the animals and Scars silly voices and rambles. He’d also love Scar’s off road wheelchair/ATV, it’s so fast ! He’d absolutely eat all of Scar’s snacks, he’d be talking a mile a minute when Grian shows to pick him up, he just silently glares at Scar.

I love when people draw Doc with Doccy on the server, just a big scary goat and his little goat kid, it’s why he has a soft spot around Xelqua, he’s so tiny. Tho I can only see them interacting if Xelqua accidentally ends up in his base area, got lost maybe. I think Xelqua wouldn’t be scared of Doc despite his looks bc 1) he looks like Scar’s zoo animals (big Goat) and 2) Doc has a kid too, so he’s gotta be safe. Grian is very confused when he sees Doc calling him.

The Joe Hills part almost made me choke AKDNDKSK Joe being a puppet is my favourite design it’s so silly. Xelqua watches a lot of TV, he’d be in awe… so happy to see a real life puppet… Grian has to grab his hands to stop him from choking Joe out.

I think Xelqua would just be intimidated by Cleo at first, he’d warm up to her ! Him being scared of Cub bc of the fireworks is so true tho, Xelqua very much hates the noise and is actively afraid of thunder, he’ll wake Grian up if a storm rolls in at night, and probably hide behind him if a firework went off and no one told him it’d be so loud !

poor Joel 😭😭⁉️⁉️ tho if Joel grabbed Xelqua and covered his mouth like that, Grian is immediately there, he crosses the room so quickly man Watchers don’t play around abt their kids 😭💥 Grian doesn’t even realize he moved or separated them, for a split second his brain didn’t see this as a joke or playing around. Joel gets to see those purple eyes up closeeee and shouts

By the second day he was better, he was able to stand up and walk around, and day by day till he got better and you two returned to your normal life, with red eyes, and sharper teeth

That was until you two were making dinner and he sneezed and some wierd colored liquid came out of his fangs

JAMIE: only child with a single mom. since furries in this universe can only have kids within their taxonomic families, adoption is really common among smaller families like prionodontidae. however jamie's mom erica really wanted a bio kid, so she ended up marrying another linsang who she liked... well enough, but not that much. they get divorced when jamie's a little kid. she had jamie at an older age; by the time he's in college her markings have already started greying, which is why she looks a little dull next to him. nowadays she works as a teacher and she loves her son vewy much :3

SANTIAGO: santiago is the only one in the main cast with different species parents. cross-species kids are just the species of either parent with a 50/50 chance cus i don't feel like dealing with hybrids... HOWEVER sometimes genetic fuckshit happens. because of said genetic fuckshit, santiago grew to a cow size instead of a sheep size. i couldn't fit all the family relations shit on the actual image but emilio is santiago's OLDER brother (hes 25) but people always assume hes younger because santiago is a giant. magnolia and amapola are twins and both 8. mariana is either a teacher or a librarian (haven't figured it out yet) but she used to paint when she had more free time which is how santiago got interested in painting and eventually went into fine arts. jorge is a plumber and emilio is a graphic designer. santiago is the first in the family to leave their hometown (key west) for a degree (emilio went to a local college) and his mom + sisters were SOOOOOOOOOO SAD so he comes home to visit as often as he can. also since he is in family bovidae he has several cousins/aunts and uncles/etc that are different species. all i know for sure is that one of them lives near jamie and co's college and is some sort of antelope (leaning towards bongo bc i like them). also using this poast to announce that i changed santiagos outfit here is his new cute flowers and bees sweater look

JOHNNY: her family works on a chicken (and other assorted birds) farm, the chickens are for both eggs and meat while the other birds are just for eggs. this is actually a common set-up in the dorian furryverse, it's hard to farm livestock as a carnivore (because all the livestock are deathly afraid of you) so herbivores usually do the job even if they can't actually eat what they farm. johnny's parents are sorta "confused but got the spirit" about her being a butch lesbian. jimmy is an ass about it but he gets better. shoutout to this horse color calculator for helping me figure out which coat colors were plausible for them

NULL: null has an older brother and does not talk to their parents. sakichi is six years older than null and they were never very close; their parents treated sakichi as the "successful" child and null as the "problem" child. they're also quite conservative. null realized they were agender in high school but stayed closeted at home, they planned to come out to their parents immediately once they got to college and were able to support themselves. something happens that instead makes them come out a few days after their graduation and they get kicked out. null doesn't know where to go and ends up living at johnny's farm for the summer before college (sakichi lives far away doing some tech job and so can't take them in). the clantons are basically null's family at this point. once null legally changes their name they remove their last name entirely (it probably says X on their documents just cus there has to be SOMETHING there). sakichi and null see each other very occasionally, and sakichi still talks to their parents, but only when absolutely necessary. it's not malicious, he'd just feel too guilty cutting himself off from them completely

ARGYLE: argyle is an only child with well-off parents, his mom is a lawyer and his dad is a quirky ancient history professor. his parents are like EXTREMELY doting so they were secretly kinda glad that he came back home so they could see him more often. argyle was really scared that they would hate him for going into a less stable field, but his parents love him to death and are ready to support him in whatever. suzanne was probably a nightmare at pta meetings i'll be so real

If I rewrote/fixed plot holes in Ninjago Pilots:

They're actually not that bad for a beginning,but I would change a few things:

-I'll not question blacksmith being a career that could provide for two teens,but the fact that Kai seems to be a bad one does not sit right with me.Especially since the issue with the curled sword was not his impatience but the size of the water bucket used(I think)

-Wu being "I told you so,useless" to Kai after Nya is captured.Replace that with sympathy maybe? It would make sense as Wu knows what it's like to lose a family member and is wise enough to understand that Kai is distraught

-Give better reasoning for trusting the map to Ray than Wu fearing his death bc knowing the lore we have now,Wu is likely to outlive him.It could be that monastery was obviously a bad choice and Wu didn't want the weapons lost forever bc they're needed for the prophecy and with most of the past generation of ems either gone or not entirely trustworthy(earth em before Lilly was a traitor during the serpentine wars,then rejoined the alliance,damaging Wu's trust in him and Lilly herself was young and going out on adventures making her unavailable; Libber is missing,Ice em is either dead or missing to Wu's knowledge and etc)

-Personal hc for where Cole,Jay and Zane were during Kai's training is that on the journey to monastery Wu messaged them without Kai noticing,sending them away with a task.Once Kai mastered the course he called the 3 back without warning them about Kai

-Jay's "We're saving a girl?Is she hot?" line.The first part along with their reaction to Kai implies the 3 didn't know anything about Smith-Jiang siblings.Including age.On the one hand,that's creepy.Jay is just lucky that Nya's not too much younger.On the other,it might be in character for Jay to say something without thinking.If we're keeping it then have Jay say it later when there is a possibility that Kai or Wu informed them of the situation and the details.

-Show Kai warming up to the team more and more

-Establish the disastrous consequences of Tornado of Creation bc the only bad thing to happen from that in all the show was Lloyd being taken out by a door and that was just a coincidence.Not only will it give more detail,but also explain why ninja don't use it all the time

-Nya quoting Ray despite not remembering much about her parents.Let's assume Kai told her about it

-Wu's plan.What was the point of taking the sword to the Underworld if the other three weapons would be brought to the same place? That moment needs to be thought through

-Wu's 'death'.He was not a fallen warrior bitter with defeat,so there's no reason for him to go to the Underworld with the sword of fire and he did not turn into a skulkin.To fix this and previous point,let's say he got trapped on the other side of the volcano with the entrance to the Underworld and sword of fire has been with him bc he obtained it during the battle.He did not die yet

-Flame.Other 3 dragons didn't need to be woken up to protect their weapons(Rocky took some time tho).My personal hc is that the other 3 woke up immediately bc they sensed the humans and the skulkin.Flame however living so close to Underworld has his senses for the skulkin and similar dark forces(like Garmadon's Oni heritage) muted and the only others present in the Fire Temple were Kai,Nya and Wu,who all have dragon heritage

-Dragon saddles should not exist at this point in the show(I know it's to sell toys,but still)

-Jaya hug and Ignacians enthusiasm/cheering. Just don't include it at all,Jay and Nya are strangers at this point and Ignacians have no idea what's going on.Instead show them being confused and afraid of dragons and Jay maybe introducing himself to Nya

-Garmadon and Wu need to refer to each-other by smth other than just brother.It's repetitive and kinda unrealistic(no matter how old,siblings are siblings).This goes for the whole show

imma try to do something each week even if its just random rambling bcs i love this so much... wish me luck please 🥺

This one is a slight angst but im taking both prompts for a run! And it’s a kinda long rambling 😬 Though with the first one it’s kinda not so obvious? But i hope y’all get it 😅

So Aether and Sunshine got a new job at the abbey and has to stay home while the others tour (no im not making it this kind of angsty), and they'd just summoned Aurora and Phantom. Cirrus and Cumulus are still missing Sunny, they video call every night before sleep, they text each other all the time, give her updates about the city they’re currently in, they buy her souvenirs, etc.

There’s a lot of fics about Dew being slightly bitter to Phantom because he’s missing Aether, but most of what i’ve seen about the ghoulettes, is that Aurora is quickly accepted… and here I’m thinking what about the girls? How can they accept her so fast?

i don’t think they’d be bitter towards her, but more like… they’re too caught up in missing Sunny, that they kinda… forget… that Aurora‘s there…

One day off early into the tour, they were ready to go out and explore the city, on a video call with Sunny of course, ready to show her the city through it, and they passed by one of the ghouls, maybe Mountain? And he asked them where’s Aurora?

Thing is, they didn’t know. And they told Mountain that. Mountain was confused, the girls usually all go out together as a group, why isn’t Aurora with them? But the ghoulettes were also confused, like they told her their plans, as an implicit invitation, but she never showed up or followed up on it or whatever.

And then Phantom came, and they asked him, because he seems kinda close with her. And he said he’s on his way to her room because she’s sad and overthinking things and needs some friendly listening ears and shoulder to cry on.

Of course the others were like, why? What’s there to be sad about? Is she homesick? What’s going on? And Phantom just said she’s a bit homesick and lonely. So they decided to all go to her room and paused their going out plan.

Aurora was surprised because she only texted Phantom but there’re also Mountain, Cirrus, Cumulus, and Sunny on the phone there, and she kinda felt bad. But when they asked what’s wrong, she decided to not skirt around it and said the truth.

She felt lonely because Cirrus and Cumulus are always talking with each other or Sunny, the boys she can’t relate much with, and Phantom also has his own thing to deal with. She‘s afraid, she kinda get that they invited her, but also afraid she misinterpreted and was actually not welcome, all that kinda thing.

Then Cirrus and Cumulus realized their mistake, they were too caught up in missing Sunny that they forgot Aurora‘s just a new summon, barely adjusted to topside life, everything‘s new to her, they forgot that she needed their guidance, their care.

They kicked Mountain and Phantom out and talked with her, Sunny too. They cleared up everything, they apologized to her for unintentionally hurting her, all that mushy sappy teary stuff. And then they tried to cheer her up and it kinda worked, so they resumed their going out plan, Sunny even ended the call before they got out, saying Cirrus and Cumulus need to bond with Aurora.

That day, Aurora truly had fun, the three learned new things about each other, shared some new experiences, made new memories, even after some bumps in the road. Cirrus and Cumulus still miss Sunshine, but the hurt wasn’t as much as before, now when they call each other while cuddling, it’s to introduce Aurora to Sunny and get them to know each other too! Ghoulettes gotta stick together, right? Some days they even added Mist to the video call and catch up with her.

Ooof. Maybe spuffy? That met me at a very formative time of my life, and I didn't expect it to become so canon (as opposed to like under a spell etc) and I think that experience really reshaped my brain 🤯🤯🤯 but fundamentally faves questions are immoral thus this is a very rude question.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I hope I'll finish all of them, and do intend to! I'm not sure I'll ever write the hilarious abortion fic tho.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Mm, a love of language/interesting prose. A love of brevity/somewhat chiselled sentences. A love of editing/willingness to improve. Interesting stories. Dialogue, tho brio get little bc theyre annoying. Characterisation!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Well I violently dislike plot. I don't feel super strong on creating original characters. I'm slow! I'd rather let things be confusing than beat readers over the head with info, which I think can be detrimental. I wouldnt say my descriptions are super strong, though I think they've improved a lil. Sometimes there's too much internal monologue at a go which breaks up the pacing of an eg dialogue scene (though again think that's improved somewhat). My love of planning and love of pantsing are at constant war lol, I get grumpiest abt stuff not having been established earlier and thus needing to state things which couldve been well demonstrated. Blocking, sometimes. I love short stories and oneshots but I'm apparently prone to writing long fics & continuing things into series which I consider a real weakness, lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'm not against it in principle, I've read a lot of books which contain a lot of eg French or Spanish (often untranslated). We've got access to Google translate or w/e right? I do appreciate it when translations are provided bc lazy (and I think Ao3 does poss let you do hyperlinked superscript?). I feel the same way abt it in fic as in other media I think -- if you're happy for it to be a bonus to those that understand and everyone else needs to work to figure it out, I concur. If you think it needs to be understood, then providing translations (even if just as notes @ the end) makes sense.

But I also think pls don't write it via Google translate... If u don't speak the language/don't have someone who can help u translate it, don't write dodgy shite Spanish or w/e 🙈 not everything needs to be literal dialogue u can just say 'he explained to his grandmother abt the change in plans' or w/e I swear

...o wait I'm guessing the q meant me as a writer not reader 🤦 I don't think I've done much of it? Altho I do always seem to imply that every character speaks French, a language I don't really speak so who the hell knows 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Chapter Fifteen: Crowns and Cream

You never regretted anything so badly in your life like you regretted letting Tim plan your “next date”, as he liked to call it. After the incident with Alysanne on Monday you guys had to be more careful around them. So for the rest of the week, there were no unplanned meetings in the third floor’s bathroom and no meetings in each other’s houses too. But today he wanted to see you and you were afraid that if you said no he would appear at your house with a big bouquet of roses for your mother. So you said you would go out with him. It was weird, you have had him inside you but you were afraid of going out with him.

He quickly stopped in front of your house and you got inside his car. He wanted to kiss you, but you told him to drive. Your nosy neighbours probably were dying to discover who was sending all those flowers to your house, you weren’t going to give them a car plate for them to look up on the internet.

— Can I have a kiss now? — He asked, pouting, after he parked the car in the mall parking lot.

You rolled your eyes and pulled him towards you by the neckline of his Blue Beatle themed shirt. He held your face gently and caressed your cheeks with his thumbs while you kissed, and you were terrified because you could feel him smiling between the kisses. You pulled yourself away and he leaned towards the glove compartment and took his cap and sunglasses out of it. You had to stop him before he enjoyed it too much.

— So… why are we in the mall? — You asked while he put on his disguise. At least it wasn’t glasses and a fake moustache.

— I’m pampering you today — He said, putting a mask on. You opened your mouth and started to talk but he continued — Actually it’s more like buying myself a gift, but you’re the one that’s going to be using it, anyway. Don’t fight back, please.

You looked at him confused.

— Where are we going, exactly? 

— Victoria Secrets — He smiled, getting out of the car. You stood in shock while he opened the door for you. He planned on spending the afternoon buying lingerie for you?

— I’m not good in choosing lingerie, Tim — You said, accepting the arm he offered to you as you walked together to the entrance of the store

— Don’t worry, darling, I know what I like — He said before getting inside. You laughed.

— Red ribbons — You said, when you started to look around the displayed pieces, your hand holding his bicep.

— I sure do — He said, and you knew he was smiling under his mask — And you look breathtaking in them. I can’t wait to see you all wrapped in red ribbons. One on each thigh, one on your pretty waist, one in this pretty neck of yours…

— Tim, stop, someone might hear — You said, looking around, your cheeks already flustered. 

He leaned closer to your ear.

Tim simply nodded and Therese guided you through the store. She showed everything to you and then left you free to choose and advised you to call if assistance was needed. The minute you and Tim were alone, you slapped his arm.

— This isn’t a nice way to treat your future husband — He said, laughing while he massaged his bíceps.

— Oh, I’m sorry, but I missed the part where you asked for my hand — You said, grabbing a whip that was on display and hitting him with it. 

— Be careful with that — He said, getting closer — I love being hit by pretty women. 

— You are a lost cause, Timothy — You said, trying not to smile — Now go pick up some pretty and expensive fabric that will be in my body for 20 minutes before you tear it all apart.

— You like it? — Therese asked, appearing out of nothing again.

— Do you already have your bridal set? — She asked — It would look very pretty on you. I’ll get you one of these in your size, honey. The testing room is there. Don’t worry, I’ll take your fiance there too.

Therese pushed you to the testing room and closed the curtain, leaving you alone with the mirror. Nervous, you started undressing to your underwear. Then the curtain opened slightly and Tim’s face appeared through the gap, the rest of his body in the way so nobody would see your nakedness. You appreciated the act, even though the store was practically empty anyways and the Testing Room area was quite private.

— Started without me? — He asked, smiling with his mask pulled down to his chin. You rolled your eyes to him, trying to disguise your embarrassment — You look so fucking pretty.

— Hand me the sets you chose — You asked.

— What if I fuck you against the mirror, like you proposed the other day? — He wondered and you felt your insides clench. 

— Tim… — You said — We are in a store. I wanted you to fuck me in my bed and you denied me. Don’t do this to me now.

— I’m just teasing, darling — He said, smiling at you sweetly — Now, why don’t you give me a kiss before changing into the pretty and expensive sets I chose for you, huh?

You stepped closer to him and your hand reached his face, cupping it tenderly. Your thumb caressed his cheeks before your lips touched his. In a tender kind of hunger, his tongue slid to your mouth. He kissed you like a man that needed you so much he couldn’t understand. The fabric of the curtain rubbed against your bodies, separating you in a teasing way. One of his hands reached to your wais and gripped it through the fabric. At this point, you honestly didn’t care that you were practically in public, you wanted him closer. The grip of your fingers on his face became tighter and you pulled him closer, towards the inside of the testing room.

— Here it is, sweetie… — Therese said, getting closer, which pulled you guys awkwardly apart. 

Your lips were a cherry red and glossy because of the kiss and your heart beated faster, slamming your ribcage like you’ve been caught with your pants on your hands. Half of you damned her approach, and the other half was thankful for it. There was no self control in your body to avoid him fucking you against the mirror if the kiss lasted a bit longer.

— Thank you, Therese — You said, smiling at her, reaching out for the set.

— White? — He asked as the woman left you guys, closing the other curtain that separated this testing room from the hall — My pretty bride.

The first set you tried was, obviously, a red one. 

Very much alike in this fantasy, this one was pretty complicated and had many ribbons. The corseted bra pushes your boobs up beautifully, the black ribbons on the sides bring a nice spice. He quickly kissed your stomach and, smiling, you got back to the testing room.

The afternoon was quite pleasurable. Despite the sexy ambience, you guys actually laughed a lot and had much fun. You showed almost every set for him, only keeping the white one to your eyes only, and after paying for everything, you  decided that you needed a more discreet bag to take the sets to your house. Tim had the amazing idea of buying you a Superhero merch sweatshirt to match with him. Surprising no one, he chose a Red Robin themed one. You stared at him seriously, but a smile showed on your face not long after he showed the matching mask to you. He was such a tease. 

— I hate you.

— Nah, you don’t — He said, putting the sweater over your dress. He admired you for some seconds before he slipped the sets into the Oficial Justice League’s bag and handed it to you — Hungry?

— Starving! — You exclaimed laughing while you adjusted your mask on your face.

— Hm… what do you want to eat?

— You’re not paying for it — You said as you started to walk towards the food court — You’ve already spent too much with me today.

having a #personal#blog moment here but, reflecting back on my very clumsy and unpleasant 't4t' friendship-turned-relationship, i just hope to never inhabit that headspace again. i white knighted for her in so many bullshit scenarios where she played herself up as the #1 victim of transmisogyny bc she didn't get her way (whether e-begging, tf2 gambling, winning an argument, sex, etc) because i believed it made me a principled person and might absolve me of the sins of my problematic afab nature. Often she was a bully and i was her flying monkey. lol.

as teens before coming out more publicly i remember encouraging her to try drag and going 2 rocky horror together (cliche but what do u expect for teens), lending her my dresses and doing her makeup-which she agreed to and later said she hated. in some ways she was more masculine which was something i liked about her but in early coming-out she hated and rejected that part of herself as something that was vile and evil. when she started dressing 'femme' she chose cartoony housewife fetish dresses and etc but was still clearly pretty unhappy. i did the most i knew how to be affirming and encouraging, would help or give advice about makeup and stuff, etc.

meanwhile I was gravitating toward more masculine presentation as we entered an adult relationship and she started Projecting this forcefem fetish onto me where she was asking me to wear her fetish dresses and telling me these really elaborate fantasies about dressing me up in tight clothing and forcing herself on me etc, and my ego was just so pummeled by life i always just like, let it happen because i thought this was how to be queer or kinky or what have you. lots of times when we met up in person she touched me in ways that didn't feel good and lacking boundaries i allowed it to escalate. or was sometimes an active participant in the escalation, as though bent on our mutual destruction lol.

anyway the relationship eventually culminated in her having an extremely traumatic and dangerous drug-induced psychotic break after i chose the exact wrong time to finally tell her "no". but instead of ending it i stuck it out for months out of a sense that I was otherwise "abandoning" my vulnerable trans woman partner who in fact lived in a different city in her own apartment with a job.

anyway her self-infantilization combined with my sense of duty/'allyship' instilled by online idpol discourse made for a very bitter, angry, self-loathing pair who had enemies at every turn. when we finally ended it, it was a confusing nightmare where i initially tried to negotiate polyamory bc i was too afraid of what she'd do if i cut things off entirely. The friendship was fine til i started seeing someone else who wasn't a tgirl. she lost it, blocked me everywhere, tried to convince everyone I knew irl and online that I was a terf, abuser, cheater, etc. fantasized openly online in places where my friends could read it, about killing/maiming me and my 'evil' partner.

Which isn't even mentioning the more obvious Brokeback refs including Den breaking his fuckin back on a mountain at the very end and caring a little too much about a tattoo on Mac's body that he wouldn't be seein unless he's already seeing/planning on seeing Mac's upper thigh on a regular basis it's.. just... if they don't do shit in s16 i'll be fuckin confused. but i feel like the girls have said that since Foreverrrr so idk! I do agree i think rcg are def scared of botching the storyline cuz again if they didn't care about botching it they would've done something with it already, and they nearly did botch it with DDL.. and I remember while they were writing s15 last year Rob mentioned his desire but how difficult it was to specifically bring a gay man into the writer's room so I feel like part of the feet dragging is coming from a place of good intention since Rob has a whole 'i gotta do right by the gays' thing lmao. but that being said I feel like they have written Mac/Den well already, so they just need to have a little faith in themselves LOL. If they're just afraid of failure the whole time it'll come thru in the writing n it won't be good. They gotta have some confidence in what they're writing and that itself has a lot of pull.

I personally think that they should just go for it because it'd be a way to freshen up the dynamics (esp if they are really gonna keep going for a few more seasons or possibly indefinitely) while still keeping it consistent. A lot of people seem to think that Mac/Den getting together would 'ruin the show' or forsake the formula... But I feel like both the s14/s15 finales had a very 'fuck our original formula' subtext to 'em anyway. And also I personally miss Macden's dynamic being like it was in Manhunters/Frank's Pretty Woman/Dines Out... Eps like that show that just bc MacDen are happy together doesn't make them better people so it'd still fit with Sunny's overall 'this is a show about bad people' motto. And I think it wouldn't be THAT different if they were overtly out and in a relationship cuz they have been written to have romantic subtext n sexual tension right along anyway. It's just been a matter of rcg going back and forth on whether to have the characters themselves realize that and embrace it or not. Cuz we see even in eps like 'Jumper' and 'Big Mo' that rcg have concluded that always just playing it safe and sticking to the formula or "the algorithm" is less satisfying than writing to what feels more satisfying in a story. I believe MFHP was kinda a major turning point for them and also worked as a sorta "dry run" for how a MacDen storyline might play with audiences.

But again, who knows! It seems like they're having fun in the writer's room so far at least, and so we'll have to wait n see what that means for MacDen's stryline if anything when we get there LOLLLL.

I just had a revelation and since you're talking about crushes I thought I'd share.

But first, I completely understand where you were coming from with your post about dating yesterday. Because meeting people is scary!! And the whole process of getting to know them, and wondering what they think of you and where you stand is so long and scary too. Not to mention the thoughts of just waiting for a bad thing to happen since we've all been disappointed by potential partners before. All of that is so natural and almost like a defense mechanism I feel like. I literally think about how I would like to be in a relationship and then I try to actually actively imagine myself in a relationship and it makes me cringe lmaooo. Like how does that make sense???

But if you do truly enjoy the presence of your work crush I think you should bask in it!! I mean, at least it's something to make work a little more bearable, right? But I mean, this is coming from a person who becomes incredibly embarrassed when they have a crush, so I understand your anxiety.

Now as for my revelation lmao. I saw this tiktok the other day saying that the bodily signs that we have when we're afraid, like heart beating fast and sweaty palms etc, are quite similar to the ones we have when we're attracted to someone and how our brain confuses the two sometimes and I just now thought... remember that really pretty guy from my class? Well, the first time we actually met and talked was while we were waiting to go into an exam lmaooo and I was for sure nervous and afraid. I just thought it was funny because when I first saw that tiktok I thought that that can't really happen that often and then I realised lol. I mean it's not exactly the same, since I had seen him and thought he was pretty many times before that but yeah. Most of our bigger hangouts have been during and right after exams 😭

HIIIII following a recent question I got (keep lookout for another post like this answering the other one sometime in the future, y'all 😌), I'm taking this opportunity to Finally explain specifics & thoughts I have about how Landiver works as a ship in my mind, why I ship them etc. No it's not justification because I will not be Not shipping these idiots anytime soon, Landiver and Ginhawk are two of like six total ships from all my fandoms that live rent-free and undebatably permanently in my mind thanksss <3

and so yea on that note, any of yall reading this don't have to agree with everything I say!! (Pls don't tell me what you disagree with tho I'm not gonna stop you from thinking what you will and all opinions are valid esp in the realm of like, fan-interpretation of fictional characters, but I am so full of anxiety I will be afraid and scared; I am just begging, don't point out what you don't agree with just leave me beeeeee)

I also realize a lot of this is my personal interpretations of them, which may or may not be entirely accurate (tho to be fair, we only rlly did get glimpses of who the pretenders rlly are as ppl, considering how plot-heavy a series it was; I'd say Hawk got the most attention in terms of that and even he doesn't get as much expansion as I'd have liked 😭) so....there's a lot of room for said interpretation imo.

But yea anyway, I'm talking purely canon Landiver (not gonna get into my AU anytime soon because it's relatively similar to this with more focus on different details bc they have different pasts and such in that....so yea)

I think they work as a ship for a bunch of reasons (I'm only gonna mention some of my thoughts about this because I don't wanna go on for too long 😳)!!!!!

One, their personalities being somewhere in the middle of "opposites" and "the same." Like not "yin and yang" kinda thing but they're also not the same type of person either. Lander might be more confident, talkative, and quicker to get emotional/heated about things compared to an exponentially more easy-going and level guy like Diver. But Diver isn't shy or unemotional, and he is most certainly confident in himself. Both of them Give 0 fucks™ but in different ways, I guess. In that regard, I feel like they also mix very well personality-wise. Lander is more interested in doing the talking, the ranting, etc. Diver says what he needs to in shorter ways in general, prefers listening and making input here and there, chuckling while Landmine fumes about some guy at work. However he might also be slightly more wordy when talking to Lander. Conversely, Lander might be more chill and show the "softer" sides of himself with Diver, the side that loses that usual "cool, confident, smooth guy" composure for example. Fumbles up his usual fast-paced talk because he's distracted w the guy in front of him (when they're in a mostly romantic mood, that is) Lander is certainly more organized and can be a little uptight about things going as they were planned to, whereas Diver (like me lmao 😭) is kind of just perpetually confused a little bit, and just going with it. But see, it doesn't seem that way because he always has this look about him that says to the outside world that he's got this and he is not fazed. He forgets stuff a lot, spaces out, dozes off, etc. Lander's got his back with that tho ✨

Diver isn't as emotional as Lander, so he's a great touchstone for Lander to center himself when he starts to panic or flip out about something. And he only lets himself do that with Diver because he feels like he can. And, being with Lander for so long has encouraged him to express himself and be emotional in his own way more often than before they met. Slowly, over time.

They have different interests for the most part, and aren't going to pretend they want to adopt every single one of each other's interests, but they have a mutual understanding of that, and enjoy the difference in tastes. So they just let each other be. Little things like: Lander's a city person, Diver's a nature guy. Lander prefers style and flashiness, Diver just wants what works, and doesn't mind. Lander is watching like five different dramas at once when he's not working his day job or out on missions, and Diver enjoys reading more (which might be because he's out on be boat or busy doing lots of really hands-on work with aquariums and such for his day job, spending less time than his partner does in an office doing paperwork). Diver will easily take a beer over an expensive wine Lander might've found, and Lander likes finer-quality alcohol, but both would be willing to have the other thing if they're hanging out together and one really wants to have their thing that night. And, they both love a good fistfight, enjoy physical touch as a primary (Diver) or secondary (Lander; his primary is actually gift-giving) love language, drinking, and collect cassette tapes together ✨

Also quick aside, but I HC they chose human bodies that put them around mid-to-late-40s. This is interesting because for example, Hawk has a body that puts him at like 23 (yes specifically 23 don't ask 😳) in human years, and Phoenix is mid-30s. Then we have the other humans characters who are actually just their age (Ginrai is 19, etc...) However, in Cybertronian years, the Pretender team are relatively like the same age, give or take a [cybertronian] year. This is another reason they are so easily connected in a way, because both in human years and cybertronian, they're around the same age, but especially as humans, they'd be not rlly old or super young. Idk how to describe it properly but maybe you know what I mean?? 😳

They are also incredibly playful with one another--always have been. Like, lowkey harassing one another (affectionately) and constantly joking around/making witty quips back and forth in their way, with a specific type of energy no one else has. In fact, they have energies that match in a way where they are as they always have been: like old friends. No one else quite gets it. They're just....a pair. Always together, which I feel like even in the anime you see them fooling around together and perpetually side by side. (Take that one bit where Diver grabs Lander and like ruffles up his hair....i love their vibe sm 😭✨)

They never descend into a serious argument because even their constant "bickering" isnt really bickering at all and more just making comebacks at one another over something on which they disagree, until one bursts into laughter and the other follows.

[Landiver in general is a whole different vibe to say, Ginhawk, both having intimately sweet moments but in very different ways.]

They are more than willing to bring it up when they don't like something/have something to talk about, not worried even for a moment what the other will think, because it will always be the safest place to simply talk it out amongst themselves. They would be hard-pressed to trust anyone else when either have somth serious to discuss. Maybe (hard maybe) Phoenix, since he's usually hanging out with those two when he's around (which is just not that often at all, I'll get into that in the other thread haha) and is somewhat a close friends...but usually it's just Lander and Diver. However even s, they rarely ever have to because they don't really have lines to cross with each other...they do not hold back when goofing around in their definitely shared sense of humor 😭💀✨

Also, I feel like it took them an extremely long time to actually formally get together just because...like, they've always been together anyway, but didn't really know how to go about,,, relationships in the official sense--if that was even something they wanted. It was on and off and on and off again for a while, Lander and Diver trying other relationships with other people for a long time (especially in the period of time after being separated to the different parts of the country once Lander got his new job over in New York and left where he'd been with Diver, again a whole separate thing I have HCs for which I touched on in my "In Relativity" fic; on that note I wanted to mention in both my AU and in canon, I HC Lander as bi and Diver as gay ✨). But they always found it didn't really....connect. over and over, both of them coming back together but not really being sure what it even was they had...and then something happens where it just clicks, and they realize, that...there isn't really anything else they should do. They do belong beside one another. They can be true only with each other, because when they are together, they are "home." As friends in a deeper, more intimate sense of that. Partners....lovers. But always friends, because they both think the whole relationship labels thing puts a wrench in the vibes. It's just very complicated to explain for them, but there's never been any kind of malice or struggle between them other than coming to the final conclusion how the answer has always been in front of them. They've known each other for centuries in our human terms, and they know they've been together forever in a sense, but sometimes it feels like they've known each other even longer.

(When they finally, formally got together, Ginrai and Phoenix just nodded to one another, like they've been waiting for this for ages, and Phoenix playfully punches Diver, who just starts laughing. Hawk, the other godmasters and the kids, are all just happy for the two)
