sorry im still insane about wlsmp but like so many of the life series “traditions” were broken this season and i think thats just so interesting.

most of the fanon interpretation of watcher!grian is him hiding it which was kinda supported by the fact that grian being the admin of the past life series didnt really matter bc he kinda was on everyone’s level- but wild life? he was IN CONTROL. he activated the wild cards he called the end of the sessions he KNEW THINGS other people didnt and oh man thats fucking tasty its refreshing! grian was such a character this season- he fully leaned into the admin position (and for us we see it as him leaning in to the watcher aspect) and people were commenting on it? they knew he knew things when previously it just wasnt mentioned by anyone. im insane about this i love watcher!grian that fully accepts who he is and uses his powers for chaos and fun

the TEAMS- the teams this season were incredibly interesting. we had the bamboozlers who everyone assumed were gonna all go out first bc they were all bad at the game and accident prone and considering the fact that the very gameplay was all out of wack yeah it was kinda expected that the clumsy players would slip up first- but they didnt! they ALL made it to the finale. the four Gs- everyone was making jokes about how they were forcing themselves to stay together and how they were gonna fall apart and it was gonna be so toxic but they were one of the strongest alliances besides gem and joel- and even bigb who betrayed cleo still kinda stayed apart of the team- which speaking of bigb he was AMAZING this season with the creaking bit he had going but also he socialized more and instead of being a total loner he tried being part of the four Gs and yknow what i’ll take it. and the fanart of him skyrocketed this season so bonus points! but yeah the four Gs, destined to fall apart stayed together to the very end and im so happy they beat the divorce allegations. JOEL AND GEM. these two. these two were AMAZING. they truly played to the game- they didnt take things too seriously, they had fun- and most importantly they stayed together. i think what im trying to say here is that the teams this season were just so much fun to watch and it didnt feel like they were held together with tape and glue and i love that. the chemistry was top notch. i just started rambling here but i loved them!! the tuff guys, renwood, and the spanners (???) were phenomenal as well but we already knew those guys have great chemistry with each other. i definitely lost my point here oops.

last thing- wild life was so fun and it feels like the shift in the life series has settled and now everyone is just having fun and i think thats amazing for them. the shift definitely started with secret life- thats where the canary curse was broken, thats where scar won against all odds (the no regen? and scar winning? impossible- but it happened), where grian finally died an honorable death (i say this bc all of his deaths previously he’d been unhappy with- yknow the i dont feel good with scar, dying in a frenzy, dying to a warden, falling to his death- but secret life? he died trying to win a 3v1 and legitimately could have won. if gem hadnt been so high in hearts he definitely could have survived), and grian being the admin was actually relevant bc he knew things others didnt (and that scene where the end portal went off in the court house god that was good food for the watcher!grian fans) where the mechanism of the series was fun and chill and not just about killing, and of course- the tone of the series was fun and wholesome rather than completely hostile like the other 4. secret life was a nice transition to wild life and im so happy that the lifers seem to be having so much fun now.

IN SHORT. i loved wild life! i love how different it is from the other series. and im so glad that the lifers are having fun and leaning in to the insanity of it all. amazing. and this was just supposed to be a little paragraph about the broken traditions but i started rambling. my bad lol.

first i hear up the grapevine that talon is a LEGENDARY????? which is CRAZY if true considering how new he is and considering that he's been in out on pc for years with no legendary. im not personally mad about it bc i am starving, but i could understand lol pc players being mad about it lol. idk exactly how the vos work for wild rift legendaries i have to look into it.

SECOND thing to note is that sett's skin is a mythic chroma so i assume his base is floating around somewhere, though we have yet to see it. (idk how wr mythic chromas work but there must be a standalone.. right?) i'm not a hugeeee fan of so much white so i wanna see his base. :) will hold full judgement until everything is out!

ok I'm gonna ramble about outer wilds.

if you haven't played it, even if you don't typically care about spoilers, PLEASE avoid spoilers bc this is the most delicate game ever when it comes to spoilers due to the way it's designed. it's one of the few games where spoilers WILL rob you of the experience. with that said,

OUTER WILDS SPOILERS

this is a very very special game to me fgkjldfjk the ending was really beautiful when i first played and the more i thought about and processed it, the more it really stuck with me to the point where i *will* just cry if i think about the ending too much and god i cannot play through that ending again without sobbing. since im assuming people reading this have played the game, yall already know the nature of the game. the only thing you have to gain from anything is knowledge, and once you beat the game, you cant really ever play it again. sure you could maybe go for achievements or explore things you never saw but the experience is kinda just over.

I very much interpreted the ending as being about death. the game has the whole supernova time loop thing going on which sorta makes the idea of respawning a canonical aspect of the game. the fact that you can just hop back into your ship and you dont really have repercussions from death which is a pretty much synonymous with games as a whole tbh is a canonical aspect of the game that you the player AND you the hearthian traveler exploring the universe are a part of. this doesnt immediately seem to special and didn't even click with me very much until quite a bit after i beat the game, but to beat the game is to accept that you're going to die, and truly dying in this game is kinda the closest media has come to communicating what death really means for me at least. you start aimlessly wandering this star system and eventually start to piece things together, you make goals and eventually figure out how to beat the game, etc. all the knowledge you have to gain in this game leads up to the ending. maybe you stop the supernova and save everyone! maybe thats why you're trying to find the eye of the universe! but no, all the stars are dying. you were just unfortunate enough to be born at the end of a dying universe. There's nothing you can do because death is inevitable for you and those around you.

to beat the game is not only to accept that the sun will explode for the last time, that the end of the experience is inevitable, that all your hearthian friends will die for good, but beating the game also requires accepting that *you the player* have reached the end of this experience, *you the player* cannot hang onto anything forever, that the end was inevitable for you too. sometimes i get genuinely sad that i can basically never play this game again, and i almost wonder if my little hearthian protagonist felt similar during the end of the game. that feeling of the inevitable end finally reaching us.

AND DESPITE IT ALL, you finally accept that you are not immortal, that this will not last forever, that the sun cant keep exploding and looping and exploding and looping forever, when you finally accept death on your own terms, when you have no idea of what's in store for you and what will happen next but you take that dive anyway, you just,, get to share a moment with the people close to you. you sit around the campfire as everyone's music comes together for the first time, once *literally* worlds apart, now, in harmony, as the little audio cues to find your friends on each planet become a symphony. they each share messages about how they feel and every single fucking one resonated with me so much sdjklfsklj stuff like "you cut it a little short dont you think?" and "i got to be a part of something really cool, so I've got no complaints" and "the future depends on the past, even if we wont get to see it" and MY FAVORITE FUCKING LINE FROM THE ENTIRE GAME. solanum, the only non-hearthian character around the campfire, a nomai, one of the species that made this all possible, a friend, says something different. she says that this is the end of our journey, and she asks you a question. she just asks if you're ready. its not required to say yes to finish, its not even required to talk to her to beat the game, but if you say no, she will ask again if you are ready whenever you talk to her afterwards, while leaving a message for you in case you are not ready for it to end. she says "its tempting to linger in this moment where every possibility still remains, but unless they are collapsed by a conscious observer, they will never be more than possibilities." when you finally take your final plunge in this moment, you watch the universe collapse before you, remarkably similar to all the times you watched the sun explode before your eyes, and you die.

even though you the player are clearly still alive, (its just a video game after all :p) the experience is over. you died in a way too. this world is no longer yours to explore and discover. after the credits theres a very nice touch where you see the start of a new universe after you enter the eye and the entire universe dies before you. you see some new creatures huddled around a campfire together to remind you that death isn't the end, because "the future depends on the past, even if we wont get to see it" and that maybe it was enough to be a part of something cool, to share those moments with your friends, to explore the universe in whatever unique way you did.

SO WHAT THE FUCK IS ECHOES OF THE EYE

DLC spoilers beyond this point ofc.

if you're like me or countless other players, you probably wanted more, well I've got just the news for you!! theres a DLC !!!! "but wait, doesnt this defeat literally the entire purpose of the game?" yes :D but that's not a flaw, in fact they do this in the best way possible. the DLC challenges the message of the game because there is a fundamental aspect of death that the game barely even touches that the DLC explored *thoroughly*: fear.

chances are, you realize you can beat the game and go beat it and are immensely moved and equally confused by the ending because it takes so much time to process that you never really have a moment to fear death. theres never a moment where you are scared of what comes next because it doesnt really click that this is the end of everything until after the end. in my opinion at least, this is pretty much the only flaw with their portrayal of death and the DLC remedied this.

so it turns out you want more and weren't ready for this to end! its time to explore the owlks and their contributions to this story. im not going to explain their story in depth because im assuming people have played ofc, but key traits with the owlks is that they feared loss. they archived what they wanted to destroy, they lost their home beause of the efforts they made to reach the eye and were horrified, they tried to escape by hiding in a world of their own creation. they hid the eye to prolong the life of the universe as infinitely far as they could. they stumbled across a way to similarly archive one's consciousness, and conquer even death itself, but it was all out of fear. they couldnt accept the end so they hid from it.

and let me just say THE DLC IS FUCKING SCARY. they lean into horror and I think everyone should play it even if they arent into horror. the puzzles arent actually too challenging in execution, and making the discoveries you need is no sweat if you've gone through the base game tbh, although it is very different in a very refreshing way. The real challenge and the real roadblock is fear. some of the things you are required to do are immensely scary and put you into situations you frankly dont want to be in! but if you quit, if you dont do this out of fear, if you hide and if you try to escape this, you're just like the owlks. you dont get through this by not being afraid, you get through this by not letting your fear paralyze you. you need to face your fears (often quite literally as you need to lure owlks away from things and I think its a nice touch that they can also hide from you by turning off their lights and then they can still see you by shining their light towards you even if yours is off FUCK that but this is a bit of a tangent lsdkfgljsd) and if you succeed where they failed, you learn one of the biggest mysteries of the game. you learn why the eye's signal vanished as fast as it appeared, why the nomai failed to find it as effortlessly as the owlks did, but more imporantly, you make a friend :] you meet the owlk that enabled the eye of the universe to be found with a brief decision that they made in a single moment so long ago. the efforts to build upon what the prisoner did were not in vain, and the prisoner accepts death by literally walking into the water as their light goes out. they leave a final message for you, urging you to ride into the exploding sun with them by your side, and you know its time to go beat the game again.

hopefully at this point the ending has sat with you long enough for you to realize what this means. now, more than ever, this is finally the end of the game. you wanted more and you got more but that desire for more similarly cant last forever. the game still needs to end and this is why there should never ever be another DLC for this game please,, a desire for more and a fear of the end kinda come hand in hand, and the fears that you chose to face were not in vain. this is it! theres nothing else! maybe you're sad that the game is ending for the last time, and maybe you still dont want it to end. but in those final moments around the campfire, solanum isn't the only non-hearthian friend around the campfire :] the prisoner is there too wondering if they even deserve to be there after what their kind did, but its over now, everything worked out. they say something really simple that was, without a doubt, the perfect addition to the game for me:

"...How beautiful. It’s different than I’d envisioned.

Whatever happens next, I do not think it is to be feared."

I think one of the reasons this game resonated so much with me is something that I really struggled to grasp until I watched shammy's outer wilds review. there's something so much more significant about *being* rather than just, observing. tons of movies try to tackle these ideas of death and even plenty of games, but with outer wilds, *you* are having this experience that will end that you can never have again. *you* are exploring a world in your own unique way that cannot last forever. and I think that's ok. I think that's what makes it special.

I'm a game dev and an artist and I think outer wilds is genuinely profound. it makes me want to make something that touches people in the way I felt touched by outer wilds. I'm so happy things aligned for me to get to use this same medium for art. I'm gonna go cry now thanks for reading <3

i thought that was so cool, the fact that the golden disc could basically be used to look into the future...and then alter the future accordingly

its also super cool that the writers used something from REAL LIFE in the story in such a way. like, thats cool as hell, and idk much media that does so

especially bc beast wars is one of very few transformers series to not include any human characters (discounting the monkey pre-humans), so this is a really cool way to involve humanity without having any recurring human cast members

the transmutate ep HHHHH where to even start

ok so transmutate...the whole story was just fucking tragic but also. TERRIFYING...

like this ep gave me the same vibes that i got when i watched the movie ET in like 4th grade and got scared as hell 

like, i am a Full Grown Adult and NOT ONLY THAT i had a job in a cadaver lab for like 5 YEARS so i generally am not easily scared but holy SHIT this episode legit unsettled me liiiike

the design and animation (and voice acting) on transmutate were like....terrifying oh my god. like, the way she(?) moved was so scary, with the slow movements and just, everything w/the neck/head....AUGH

and that like, pained screech she did ???? that was just horrible oh my god

anyways literally ruth and i spent this entire ep just like, cowering and yelling out of fear lmao. i went outside in the dark later and i swear i saw transmutate in the shadows. terrifying

in terms of the plot of the ep, that shit was fucked up. it basically amounted to silverbolt and rampage fighting over transmutate w/little regard for transmutate as a person, and ending w/her dying. which was fucked btw

and the fact that everyone was like ‘oh yea transmutate basically doesnt count as an alive sentient being’ was messed up bc they came to that conclusion very quickly and with only a small amount of data....messed up. also messed up is how the maximals suggested putting transmutate in like, a medically induced coma basically, bc she was a freak of nature. which may be true but STILL, that probably violates some ethical laws. arent yall supposed to be the good guys?!

also rampage trying to befriend and save transmutate was sad...especially knowing his circumstances w/megatron and stuff. just Ls all around

runext finale thoughts:

weird asf group name and weird asf lineup. like idk why two of them are there but im not gonna send them hate and if they have good music ill still stream even though my faves didnt all make it. yk like a normal person would 🤷🏻‍♀️

so when i heard that korean votes would be used for the top two i knew exactly what hybe was up to. they wanted wonhee to debut. it probably would have been way closer...maybe fourth or fifth place if they used international votes and they didnt want to risk it. whether they meant to make jiwoo collateral or not is up for debate though.

i really think the judges just didnt like jiwoo bc what the fuck. i think hybe (and, consequently, the judges) knew who would be top two if they made the finale votes mostly korean and in doing so planned for the other four to not be jiwoo.

so i kinda predicted jiwoo falling out but jeemin? wow. i didnt expect that. she was never in my picks but she seemed to have that factor. i thought she and youngseo would be top two with youngseo being first and when i found out about korean voting, i assumed jeemin would take yunah or moka's spot. i cant even begin to theorize how that didnt happen.

iroha and wonhee were the judges favorites. this was clear as day. iroha was very much favored by the judges. she got second place on her team in given and taken and third overall after the bang! performance (stages where she made mistakes.) i think irohas personality is very charming and if theres no jeemin or jihyun we need a main dancer like her but shes still very young to me and her vocals arent very developed (see money and shut down performances.) wonhee is honestly a topic i dont want to discuss again but since im going over all the winners heres my opinion plainly:

shes too young. she trained the least out of everyone. she has a constant lost duck expression. she (like ena) had the potential to train some more and become a banger main vocalist (her tone is very pretty.) she fumbled the fearless performance. she ate the ssfwl and feel special performances up (showing her rapid growth.) her debut definitely robbed jeemin and jiwoo but the hate for her is absolutely disgusting. thats all.

youngseo....yeah i mean whos surprised? not really much to say other than good for her. i guess i dont like her voice but that doesnt mean its bad. she deserves it even though she was never in my picks. i will say though that she has tsuki syndrome. which ive classified as having very intense charisma and facial expressions so everyone thinks youre the perfect example of stage presence. over the top expressions doesnt mean talented idol. of course youngseo is talented also but if i had to point to the contestant with the best stage presence and expressions it would be jeemin no doubt. (neither of these girls were ever in my picks so im being v unbiased here)

moka....will rule the world. so proud of her. eat sleep moka.

yunah being sixth is wild. i think they just did that for shock value. shes the mood maker yall. live laugh yunah.

lastly minju....again good for her. very versatile and professional. her vocal tone is the most unique in the show and if they don't have jiwoo they'll need a stand out vocalist like her. (still hate that she had the entire i dont care performance while hyewon had like 3 lines even with voicing her uncertainty but we move on)

Writing is. Not quite going lol. I have not finished a fanfic in ages, and also have made little to no progress on any of my original work attempts either, tragically. DO YOU HEAR ME) that lucina definitely evolved fully. absolutely the type to have a dopey faced dragon like aww. well on her way to becoming champion

for owain i gave him ampharos, alolan raichu, druddigon, carnivine, excadrill, and throh and if im so honest with you guys i do not remember writing down half of these. anyways this mf absolutely had a pikachu but because hes not ash, he evolved it. he had no idea it was gonna get a surfboard tail but by god is that not the coolest shit ever?! all of his pokemon are insanely protective of him (his carnivine did absolutely try to bite inigo’s head off once after a few jabs… they dislike eachother) and owain teaches them all cool battle poses. his pokemon all know pretty basic moves but hes renamed all of them (thunderbolt is now some shit like sky piercer 3990 from the ultimate heavens!) and he only did it to look cool at first but it is a legit battle strategy that throws off his opponents. kudos to him!

gave inigo primarina, oricorio, altaria, rapidash, breloom, and cinccino. he threw a fit when chrom caught lucina a cool pokemon and not him (he was like. three years old 😭 he did NOT need one) so when he WAS old enough, chrom came home with a pretty little fire horse for him. hes also ass shit garbage at type matchups so i dont think he battles, he is a performer :) or he tries to be. guy who vomits everytime he has to go on stage… he practices dances with them, but until he’s ready to join his pokemon on stage, he takes part in pokemon coordinating, which yes is STILL scary but the attention isnt on him so. he manages.

brady has a polteageist, audino, chansey, scolipede, stoutland, and mr mime. he and maribelle found a sinistea in the wild one day when he was little, and he cried so bad because he thought it was just a teacup until a WHOLE ASS GHOST game out of it. theyre besties now but maribelle teases him about it a lot. stoutland was his family’s pet but maribelle insisted he take it with him to keep him safe (he cried a lot that day too). he doesnt battle much but he’s taken part in a few contests alongside inigo and cynthia, though he secretly just wants to be a pokemon nurse.

gave kjelle mawile, mienshao, hawlucha, bastiodon, excadrill, and mudsdale and they are all female. she takes great pride in her girl power team. mudsdale was a gift from her mom but she. she cannot ride. dont even ask her she will not. when she trains her pokemon, she trains alongside them, and was sorely disappointed when she grew up and found out the trainer was not allowed to fight in battles either. alas. she and gerome are constantly battling eachother. his edgy darkness team vs her girlies. yes. definitely gonna become an elite four member one day but she’s taking her time.

severa has a milotic, tsareena, houndoom, braviary, hitmonchan, and a lycanroc (night form). her mom got her a feebas one day from fishing, and severa got so fucking mad because it was SO UGLY. but she as she traveled around with it, it grew on her, and it evolved she cried real tears. one time cynthia got her to compete in a contest, but she submitted her houndoom into a cuteness contest and got pissed when they told her it didnt meet their standards of “cuteness” (they were so wrong for that…). her mom currently has a seat on the elite four which makes her feel a bit pressured to live up to her battling talent, and she throws a fit whenever she loses a battle (which isn’t too often but when it does happen… 😬)

cynthia got galarian rapidash, goodra, manectric, tropius, sirfetch’d, and volcarona. she challenges inigo to rapidash races and wins every single one of them, horse girl that she is. she loves her sirfetch’d because he reminds her of her dad, but also kinda hates him because he reminds her of her dad (frederick!cynthia btw… hehe). she’s genuinely pretty talented at battling but in her eyes contests are way cooler because it’s just your pokemon doing a bunch of cool ass stunt shit!! are you kidding me?!?! do you know where her flower entrances would shine?!?! CONTESTS. but she’ll train with owain and severa when they ask. but severa gets kinda annoyed when cynthia cares more about looking cool than actually trying to faint her pokemon (embarrassing when severa loses…). is the most fascinated by mega evolution because what do you mean your pokemon unlock a new cool state only by having a close bond with them… are you kidding… she’s not too caught up on pokemon science but she bugs laurent for information on it when she can. her manectric can and WILL mega evolve (i didnt check if that was one of the painful megas… lets hope not!)

gerome has a salamence, hydreigon, zoroark, bisharp, noivern, and a trevenant. he is a frequent listener of whatever piers’ band is called. his team has a very clear weakness to fairy type pokemon and it bothers him greatly. it bothers him more that kjelle doesn’t shut up about it. it bothers him even more that inigo’s primarina could sweep him. he’s working on it. he typically travels on his own, not really because he dislikes other people, but his pokemon scare a lot of people off. the first of the group to get eight gym badges and no one knows when or how that happened (though, it’s pretty easy to get from city to city when half of your team can fly you anywhere you want)

had f!morgan in mind for this, and she got a camerupt, klefki, grimmsnarl, escavalier, beheeyem, and porygon 2. i didnt really take into account pokemon stats, but she absolutely tries to use trick room shenanigans. klefki has nothing to do with that though, that was a cute gift from robin and it was also a mistake. that fucking key disrupts their household so much… she loves it though. her pokemon all take after her a bit, being a little… mischievous, lets say, with camerupt basically being their only saving grace. she sees owain’s special moves strategy (read: “strategy.” he never meant for it to be a viable tactic) and starts to do the same. watching them battle eachother is… hard.

laurent got a vanilluxe, alakazam, rotom, delcatty, mismagius, and an umbreon. he’s not too into battling, he does more lab work than anything. his mom is a member of the elite four, but that’s mostly so she has an elevated platform to share their findings. still, being her son has taught him pretty good battle strategy, so he’ll do it for fun every now and then, and to test his own research. he has a rotomdex but its actually useful, being able to function as both a dex and a pokemon, letting him assess his opponent on the field (which!! is probably not fair!! but like… i dont think he cares). unfortunately that comes with a drawback of rotom being able to talk, which it does. a lot. more than it should. miriel caught laurent a misdreavus while on an expedition, and it is very dear to him (same hat?? SAME HAT!!). he also prefers special attackers, and he tells everyone it’s because special attacks are more efficient due to the lack of contact required, but that’s not true. he just thinks its cool.

i gave noire a banette, decidueye, shedinja, mimikyu, froslass, and golurk. she is an unintentional ghost type specialist due to the curses her mom placed on her—they’re just kinda drawn to her. unironically one of the strongest trainers here but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her. she’s kind of scared of all her pokemon, but they wouldn’t harm a hair on her head. she found banette when she was a little girl in a random ass parking lot, and it’s been her bestie forever. it beefs with tharja, but deep down, tharja was happy noire had a companion. she’s legitimately a good trainer, but she relies on severa for help because she’s always scared she’s doing something wrong.

yarne has a kangaskhan, buneary, whimsicott, dubwool, azumarill, and furret. his buneary does not want to evolve, so he will not make it! got an everstone and everything, but if it really wanted to it could (theyre best friends!!). he doesn’t like watching pokemon faint, so he stays away from battle when he can. he ends up forming an interest in pokemon care and breeding, which takes him a while to get used to all the strange new pokemon he has to work with, but once he does he’s pretty good with them. he spends a lot of time with laurent and helping him with his research and also making sure it stays ethical. sometimes laurent gets too much in his own head… inigo once tried to rope yarne into contests, but if you thought one guy with anxiety was bad, well. two does not make it go any better. no i dont know how being a taguel would work here dont ask

nah got a charizard, haxorus, tyrantrum, flygon, kommo-o, and kingdra and yes she did that intentionally. she loves dragons!!!! dragons are cool!!!!! her charizard has the X megastone and she now gets to shove it in everyones face YES HE IS A DRAGON. shut up! her and gerome bond over their mutual struggle with fairy types. all of her pokemon are way taller than her (i dont buy this shit about charizard being small. shut up) and it frustrates her a bit but it is quite amusing for her for her opponents to not take her seriously based on her appearance, only to be curbstomped by six gigantic dragons. she doesnt have much strategy, truly, she just overpowers the enemy until she wins. good for her! what’s a status move

my favorite thing about thinking about pokemon is that i eventually get to thinking “what pokemon would my fav guys have” and its so fun. i wrote out a bunch of teams for the awakening second gen like three years ago that i should probably fix but i know i gave inigo a cinccino but specifically one that pissed him off all the time by tail whacking him whenever he flirted with woman a la brock’s croagunk. his mother gave him an oricorio egg from her own. noire has a bunch of ghost pokemon and she is completely terrified of all of them but they adore her. yarne does not fight ANYONE he is a pokemon breeder. right? right. lucina has the most pretty beautifly anyone has ever seen ever

ok i know I've never posted anything about this fandom before but i know there's a lot of confusion in the sabikui fandom about who the kid on the cover of volume 8 is and im doing some digging so lemme take yall on a JOURNEY (spoilers for LN obvs)

so I know a lot of people have been hoping that this kid is a Milo-Bisco Iovechild and pointing out stuff like the blue highlights in the kid's hair, and referencing sources saying they raise a child together. This post may come as a bit of a disappointment in some ways particular for the shippers but like....I promise that whatever you're imagining, this is gonna be a wild ride.

so I was looking at some stuff online and came across an article on some of the plot points from the novel according to some of the readers (meaning ofc that the info is only as accurate as the readers' interpretation and translation skills) that Bisco and Pawoo get married and have a kid. Presumably, this kid

given that she looks exactly like Bisco and her name is listed as Akaboshi Sugar. So I was just assuming that she's Bisco and Pawoo's kid and Milo helps Bisco raise her bc.....thats what makes the most sense?? So when the sources said 'Bisco and Milo's child' what they meant was the child that they raise together. BUT. I was talking to my friend about it bc she's the one who dragged me into this fandom, and she found a summary of the volume in jpn. Now, the summary states that Pawoo is pregnant.......but it also explicitly states that Milo delivers a baby. It doesnt just say that they HAVE a kid, it says that Milo gives birth. Cue me and my friend losing our minds.

but wait there's more!

after we're done freaking out in DMs Im going about my day but in my head is just wtf wtf Milo has a baby wtf and then 3 hours later it hits me

yeah, Im dumb. this makes 8000x more sense. (But like....the word the desc used is 出産 and I've never seen that used to describe someone else helping someone to deliver a baby.) My friend and I are debating, she thinks that the kid might belong to the other Akaboshi (sexy dreds lady pictured above), I think its Pawoo's and Bisco's and we got queerbaited hard. My friend does some more digging and finds a reddit thread with commenters saying it actually IS Milo's kid via some kinda mushroom magic. I'm like please god let this be true I want this to be true so bad. but at the same time.....this is still shounen and I'm 99.99% sure society hasnt advanced far enough to allow this level of queerness in shounen. At this point we're like, okay we gotta read the novel and find out wtf is going on. So my friend bought it online and I get to work reading (ok, skimming).

First thing of note: Pawoo is indeed pregnant with Bisco's child...and by child I mean mushroom half-god half-human. Don't ask me what this means or how it works.

Second thing of note: Milo asks Akutagawa for baby names (this actually has nothing to do with anything i just thought it was really cute jdhjsjk)

at this point im like ok cool whatever the mushroom magic probs refers to the apparently super-powered mushroom baby Pawoo is carrying. Except...

Third thing of note: Milo has apparently been experiencing morning sickness. Well, it's not explicitly called morning sickness, but he's been having the same pregnancy symptoms as Pawoo and hasn't been able to find a medical cause. He's also been hiding it from Bisco so as not to worry him. Supposedly, it's a side effect of being imbued by Bisco's life force??

Fourth thing of note: Eventually he's struck with intense stomach pains and yells that there's something in his stomach. At this point I was highkey skimming bc it was very late and I had a headache, but a few pages later a child has appeared.

so.........................................yeah I think Milo just gave birth to Bisco's child

I guess I'm spending my day off doing a closer reading to try to fill in some of these gaps, lmk if anyones interested in an update 😅

so it can be written horizontally or vertically, doesnt matter, but it has to be read and written left to right and top to bottom

a line denotes a whole sentence and the words are separated by spaces. unsure how to put this into words bc its mostly just ~vibes~ for me, but to write a word heres how i go about it:

1. 1 word block/entire letter is a single syllable, except the succeeding consonant, if it has one (ex. cat would be written with 2 word blocks, one for "ca" nd another for "t"). however we ignore this if it starts with a vowel, so over has the word blocks "ov" and "er"

2. lets assume im talking about writing this horizontally for this point. by word block i meant the letters as its written from top to bottom. not sure how else to explain this. its a different word block once you move to the next letter on the right

3. the spelling is about the same as it is in english, except for the parts where you cant do that (no q or c in this alphabet, so phonemic spelling for quick looks something like kwik, or celestial -> selestial because again, no c and im not using k for an s sound)

OR theres already a grapheme for it (if you write out "n" and "g" for the "ng" block of sing or typing, i am not going to do anything but im going to be very disappointed that you didnt use the perfectly good ŋ letter i made) (jk i really dont care. go crazy go wild who give a fuck)

OR the english word has an extra letter that isnt present in its pronunciation (what should be spelt as "wat" but tbh idgaf, you can spell it as "what" or "wat")

4. if starting a word block with a consonant, continue writing on the same side until you have to write the vowel, at which point you write on the other side of the line. continue the rest of the word block even if it goes back to a consonant. this also goes for vice versa if you start with a vowel instead

5. sometimes you make the line for the sentence too long. thats ok. thats the Free Space Area where you can do whatever you want on it. draw on it, leave it blank, write your signature or put down shitty jokes, who cares as long as it doesnt interfere with the readability of the sentence

also its fine if you write the same word differently because where the next syllable in the word starts is different to you everytime. its fine its fine its like spelling color vs colour
