You're telling me this pretty ass detective who took Dick on as his assistant is Jason?? Screeeeam. Oh and Jason is also Joker in this universe. But like. He's a good guy? I mean he'd like to kill, but he doesn't bc of Bruce. Also, wants to be Batman's partner, apparently. And he wants to figure out who actually killed Bruce's parents.
Oh and Dick lives with his uncle, but he's actually not Dick's uncle. And he's also not the person who Dick thinks he is. And Jason figured that out. Interesting, interesting. So Dick's just been living with some weirdo since his parents died, mkay. Like his weirdo guardian wanted Dick to use the alias "Danny" instead of his real name.
Dude. This is a fun universe. I can see some good fics coming out of it.

I wanted batman: justice buster to be more cyberpunk and about the ai!robin and the complications that could arise from it but it's now fully removed from that and being about the joker/joe chill/uncle sam thing and I just. don't care about that. woe is me. i will take the artificial intelligence robin concept and run with it myself at some point, though.

Out this week: Various DC manga titles (DC, $9.99): Three DC manga titles arrive in print this week, following their release on DC Universe Infinite:
Superman vs. Meshi by Satoshi Miyagawa with art by Kai Kitago, which is about Clark Kent’s daily lunch selections in Japan;
Batman: Justice Buster by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, which has Batman creating a supercomputer named ROBIN to help him fight crime; and
Joker: One Operation Joker by Satoshi Miyagawa with art by Keisuke Gotou, which finds Batman de-aged into a baby, who the Joker decides to raise. No, seriously.
See what else is arriving in comic shops this week -- but I'm not sure what could top Daddy Joker raising Baby Batman.

my comic store gave me a dc manga free sampler.
it had a few pages of the following mangas:
Joker: One Operation Joker
Superman vs Meshi
Batman: Justice Buster.
Joker: One Operation Joker is about Joker raising a baby-ified Batman after Batman falls into a vat of chemicals that turns him into a baby. So far my only comment is WTF and that it would be funnier if we didn't have Joker's internal narration. We should just see him waving a knife around a baby and be forced to wonder what's going on, rather than him thinking about changing diapers.
batman: justice buster had well drawn action, very little dialogue or internal narration to slow things down, they just let the art speak for itself. But I don't know exactly what the premise is because there was only dialogue on the last page.
Superman vs Meshi seems to mostly be about Superman eating at Japanese restaurants. Clark claims superman has made there be world peace, so his boss can't blame him for writing a boring article about a giant (but not record worthy) apple pie. the comic starts with superman in line at a ramen shop, then it ends with superman being glad that lois rejected him asking her to go out with him to eat, because he wanted to go eat at a japanese restaurant chain instead
I'm not sure I'm interested in reading the batman ones, b/c I don't care about the Joker and while the Batman: Justice Buster looks well-done so far, without a premise that interests me I'm not going to go out of my way to read out of continuity comics. But i WILL read Superman vs Meshi, I want to find out why the comic seems mostly to be about restaurants so far.

Omg chapter 15 is called "baby bird spreads its wings" and it's the chapter where Jason sends Dick on a mission to find a cat.

I kept getting whiplash during this week's comics reading. beast world: gotham tour?the least said about it the better. robin lives? full of poor writing choices but honestly benefited from being read after the previous one. batman: gargoyle of gotham? not as solid as the first issue and idk how I feel about certain choice but still pretty good and with a really interesting bruce, and I love me some catholic horror shit. batman: justice buster? the plot didn't advance much but it remains really engaging, and look! it's dick! batman and robin? so so so bad and flat I'm thinking of just dropping the run. batman: city of madness? FUCKING AMAZING (even if I'm disappointed it didn't take the chance to [redacted]). world's finest: teen titans? did a 5yo write the dialogue ffs, if didn't just finish I WOULD have dropped this one. detective comics/batman: outlaw? weird, curious, some odd dialogue but I'm really looking forward to the next issue. outsiders? made me question what the hell it was that I found so charming last month; another one on thin ice. superman: lost? quite good and then that last panel... well theres only one issue left so we'll see how it goes. waller vs. wildstorm? *chefs kiss* I'm always here for amanda waller wrecking havoc.

DC plans to translate and publish three manga originally published in Japan by Kodansha, including Batman: Justice Buster:
In Batman: Justice Buster, Gotham City has been under the protection of Batman for only a short amount of time, but since the vigilante’s appearance, crime has changed. It’s gotten more bold, more destructive. As Batman tries to rise to meet these new threats, he develops a computer system, ROBIN, to help him analyze and subdue the rising criminal tide and hopefully one day put an end to crime in Gotham. Batman: Justice Buster is written and illustrated by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi (Ultraman).

I’ve come with a new comic/manga I just found out about. No idea if you know it already (you probably have, I’m usually pretty late to discovering comics haha) but It’s called Justice Buster, it’s kinda nuts from the little glimpses I’ve seen. Definitely interesting.
Batman has a mech suit, Robin is an AI, Dick is a child, and Jason is a private detective investigating the death of Bruce’s parents and also a vigilante called Joker?? :o I won’t spoil the plot (what little I know of it) but have this funky mask design :) wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first, but it’s growing on me.

I definitely have not come across this before, and I’m not sure what to do with it, lol. The mask is making me … uncomfortable 😂. Your description has me imagining some sort of futuristic steampunk noir setting, which is definitely … interesting. Thanks for sharing, friend!
