So, I'm reading @froizetta ’s (Love) Traingles Have Multiple Centers and I couldn't resist drawing this scene from The Obligatory Gala Chapter. (Lol, I love the chapter title).

It ticks all of my boxes:

Sexy Superbat? CHECK. The story itself doesn't have smut but the author wrote behind-the-scenes smut in a separate story so rest assured.

Superbat identity porn with IC Bruce? Check. (I have a real weakness for identity porn and Bruce being IC is the cherry on top of the cake).

Clark being a sweetheart and never failing to be embarassed? Check.

Bruce having a hard time parenting Dick and messing up but in a way that doesn't make me want to shove him into an incinerator and watch him burn? Check.

Very IC and wonderfully written Lois Lane, who's equal parts sophisticated city girl and would snoop and steal to get a story? Check!!!

Thanksgiving FicRec

it’s difficult for me to really get my thoughts out about anything really because it’s embarrassing (mortifying ordeal of being known or whatever) but I’m working on it

but I really love this Fic and want to share it

it’s one of my favorites

I’ve reread it in its entirety around 3 or 4 times a year since it was completed

not counting the times I’ve come back to particular parts

I don’t really like long fics usually I get busy and don’t have the time to finish them

but if I start now I could finish it by real Thanksgiving

Dick’s goal for Thanksgiving (code named Operation F.I.S.H.): A family outing to the aquarium.

It feels achievable - everyone has been getting along better lately, Jason is spiraling closer, Cass is coming home. But there is a lot of unspoken hurt in every direction, and Dick’s own position in the family is shakier than ever since Bruce returned.

If Dick wants to realize his dream of family bonding, there will have to be many painful conversations between all parties. Dick’s own secrets will need to surface, the ones he has long kept submerged, the ones he will fight to sink forever.

(Or: Where Bruce is just a bit darker, even less emotionally available, and treats everyone a little worse, and how they all fix their family anyway.)

Fluff, fluff and even more fluff:

ergonomics by envysparkler (Gen, 2.7K, Rated Teen): Bruce’s kids keep invading his bed and he is just so tired. Absolutely sweet family fluff with many cuddles and a tired Batdad, who would give his kids everything, but do they really have to steal his bed every night? (Also, envysparkler writes so much amazing Batfam, I can’t put all their stories in this list, but check them out if you haven’t yet. It will be absolutely worth it.)

Is This Real Life? by shanahane (M/M, 6.3K, Rated Gen): At some point or another, all of Bruce’s four sons have their wisdom teeth removed. It’s a different experience for all of them. Really nice no capes AU in a series where Bruce went to therapy instead of becoming Batman. The M/M is due to some background Birdflash, but the focus is on the Batfam.

New year bets by Fleur_de_Violette (Gen, 9.3K, Rated Teen): Dick overworking himself because he is a good person, Jason worrying about him without admitting to being worried, and bets on people’s health. Just a very nice Batfam story that puts Dick forgetting about his own health and his family looking after him in the focus.

Of Flags and Forts by DawnsEternalLight (Gen, 2.7K, Rated Gen): Every year the Batfam has a game of capture the flag fused with a snowball fight, and this time Damian gets to join the fun.

Funny Batfam:

I Must Leave Right Now, Immediatly by motleyfam (Gen, 3.0K, Rated Teen): Tim splits his pants at a charity gala. To say that he’s expecting merciless teasing from his brothers is an understatement. What he gets is...not that? Super sweet and funny story about Jason and Damian helping Tim and being good brothers. The ending had me in stitches, I was laughing so hard.

On the Record by I_Write_Midnight_Snacks (Gen, 1.5K, Not Rated): Jason is stealing the tires of the Batmobile once again, Tim is filming, Bruce is tiredly drinking his coffee and Dick seriously considers which side he is on. Very funny little story that just perfectly captured the dynamic in the Batfam.

hit ‘em up style by TheResurrectionist (Gen, 2.3K, Not Rated): Steph asks Bruce to get her some tampons and in typical Bruce Wayne fashion, he takes it way too seriously. Absolutely delightful, good Batdad cranked up to the max.

the reflex by TheResurrectionist (Gen, 1.0K, Not Rated): Bruce and Jason hide out with Batcow to smoke and it is so cute and funny.

A little bit of angst:

An Even Trade by fanfictiongreenirises (Gen, 3.2K, Rated Gen): Batfam meets Supernatural as Dick makes a crossroads deal to save his little brother. Perfect amount of angst and bittersweetness. If you enjoy selflessness and brothers doing the impossible for each other, this is the fic for you.

With Your Best Violence by woodenwashbucket (Gen, 4.7K, Rated Teen): Talia shows back up in Gotham and blackmails Jason into bringing Damian back to the League of Shadows. Really great story about Jason ebing backed into a corner but still trying to look out for his little brother.

little soldier boy, come marching home by TheImaginativeFox (Gen, 10.9K, Rated Teen): After Jason dies and before he comes back, he spends his days tethered to Bruce as a ghost with the ability to sense when people are about to die. One day Dick starts to make Jason’s death-sense go haywire. This story legit made me cry, but it was so good. I would still recommend to read the tags first, as you might guess there are some heavy/sad themes in here.

to the red planet Mars by r_astra (Gen, 30.2K+, Not Rated): Jason and Bruce get hit with a curse that won’t allow them to be more than fifty feet apart and with Jason’s return to the Manor some things come to light. If you are looking for a fic that deals with Bruce’s abusive behaviour towards his kids in the comics, this is the one for you. This story hits so hard, but it is exceptionally good and well worth a read (last chapter isn’t up yet).

Casefic:

the thing with feathers by bacondoughnut (Gen, 16.3K+, Not Rated): When Dick and Bruce go missing and Tim can't find them on his own he turns to the only other person he can think of for help, Jason. He just hopes they can keep from killing each other long enough to save their family. Jason reluctantly helping Tim, great detective work and begrudging brotherly bonding, what more could you want? An ongoing story and I am delighted every time there is an update.

a/n: somehow I feel like you like angst :P, this was rich enough to be longer.

You slam the door loud behind you and then walk inside the vastness of the mansion, clicking your heels as you go. Words could not express how you were feeling right now. After two weeks of not being able to reach Selina anywhere, nor her phone or her house, you came across her at the event your father -one of Gotham's city's greatest benefactors- was throwing. She was dressed in all black, wearing an off-red wig, and had the most stoic expression you had ever seen on her face.

"Listen to me, for one fucking second!" Selina shouts from across the door, jamming with the door handle until she opens it wide and walks confidently and pissed off in your direction. The living room did not feel as vast as it was right now. Frustrated you sat down on the couch, crossing your legs and your arms shaking your head.

"You can't keep lying to me like this! I was fucking worried about you and to see you right here today? Out of nowhere? That's not normal behavior!" It was evident in the tone of your voice that you felt utterly broken and betrayed by her actions. Selina rolled her eyes before she kneel down on the carpet and held on to her knees looking up at you. "I had a job to do out of town. I only came back yesterday. " You gaze right back at her, trying to decipher between a lie and a truth. Did her words hold value?

Were you in the wrong though? How you met her was funny, saw her right in your father's bedroom, between stealing jewelry and diamonds and all you did was fall in love with her. That and also, help her -not just that night and every night from then on- that has already made you an accomplice and Selina long has now used your house and your connections for intel. At first, you thought she had a noble cause, you didn't like those men of Gotham City and the ways they had earned their fortunes but sometimes you came to wonder: would she ever be happy away from all this criminal life however justified? Maybe she had finally decided to run away, just not with you.

"Baby, please, listen to me." Selina continued, a broken cry in the tone of her voice that took you by surprise. A shared emotion? A deeper connection maybe? Your heart beats faster at the thought of a string of hope. She moved her hands to your chest trying to loosen your arms and you allow her to take your hands in hers. Something about her glossy eyes, her position on the floor, the way her lips curled at their ends. "I am truly sorry. It took much longer than I thought and then I had to set up this one, I have important information about tonight. Something big. I'll need your help."

Drawing your eyebrows together you look at her, confused and lost in your thoughts. Was she only asking for your help? Did she care about your heart at all? Was it important at all to hear that you have been crying yourself to sleep these past two weeks?

"Selina quit it. I'm tired. You don't care-" She squeezes your hands tight and looks at you in bewilderment. "Honestly, Y/N. I came here for you tonight, so I can take you with me and we can go together to the old town." You shake your head again looking away to the rain dropping outside the glass window. She raises her body, searching for your eyes, and cups your face softly, both tenderly and desperately.

"If I didn't love you do you think I'd be here?" Her voice is calm, and her beautiful eyes are reflecting onto yours. "I love you, Y/N. Once I make sure all the old mafia guys are dealt with and put away for good, we will run away together as I have promised." For longer than a moment, you look between her eyes, trying to look for the truth and yet you find it inside your heart. You can feel butterflies battling in your stomach, a certain different kind of heartbeat enables your next action and before tears fall off your face, you lean forward and crush your lips with hers.

Maybe it wouldn't happen this year or the next but eventually, you would both be living in the countryside, raising goats and collecting fresh flowers each morning.

hey! i’m looking for a fic and i cannot for the life of me find it, it feels like years of looking.. it’s a high school au where derek and stiles i think get in trouble and they have to pick an extra curricular for the other. can’t remember what stiles chooses for derek but derek chooses cheerleading for stiles.. stiles rides a skateboard and derek is very protective, telling him not to get hurt etc and obviously stiles gets hurt and breaks his hand but still does cheer because he actually kind of likes it. derek’s girlfriend is jennifer i think but don’t quote me on that.. but it’s proper enemies to lovers i just can’t find it!! pls help!!

My Top Five Favorite Grayson Fics

I wanted to celebrate some of my favorite fan artists and compile a list of the Fics I find myself going back to again and again!

So here it is, my TOP 5!

1. Interval of Shadow - @caramelmachete

This is a work that I honestly have read a dozen times and still go back for more. Without giving too much away, Nightwing sustains a devastating injury on patrol and has to deal with the potential of life-long consequences. If you love batfam dynamics, and a carefully crafted narrative based on sound research, this is 100% the best fic for you.

2. All the Roofs of Uncertainty -

This is another batfam fic with a heavy focus on Jason. Nightwing is badly injured, and Jason reluctantly keeps some potential deathbed promises. What follows is some family in-fighting and the resolution of past traumas.

3. Mother Bruce and his Baby Birds -

Oh my goodness. If you want some good batfam feels THIS is where you get them. Lots of GoodDad!Bruce and warm fuzzies. A series of scenes that detail the precise moment when Bruce adopted each of his kids.

4. Measures of Progress - @renecdote (author page)

This is some excellent Dick and Dami stuff. Each chapter details a time that Dick carried Dami. As a parent I love this one, because you never know when those “last moments” are going to sneak up on you, and the ‘last time’ you pick up and hold your child holds a bittersweet place in your heart forever.

5. Trade Your Heroes for Ghosts - @caramelmachete (author page)

This is a lovely, short fic about Bruce waiting at Dick’s bedside after he was shot (just before the Ric Grayson arc). This one felt so necessary to me, and I feel like it’s an excellent example of fan works filling in the gaps of canon stories.

Readers Notes: This was so precious! Duke-centric! I haven’t read enough Duke fics which is a mistake I’m going to have to rectify. This fic is sort of a character study of character study, with a focus on Duke and Dick. It’s a quick read, managing to be both lighthearted and insightful with a happy ending that feels well deserved.
