— have you heard of tartarus...?
tartarus, the company that no one the country could avoid, hell, no one in the continent! their logo seemed to be stamped on every type of good to be produced. getting a job at tartarus is an easy way to generational wealth, but it seemed that with wealth came boredom.
with the recent opening of the company's dark web activity branch came a new game with no name other than the death game which gave "opportunities" to those who need money.
death game? well, sure there wealth gap in modern day xinshen city was growing, but no company would be that evil to make already struggling people fight amongst themselves for money ... right?
obviously they would.
every month, a new seeker would be picked in the city out of all the players. the goal of the seeker is to find and "punish" at least one hider during their duration as seeker. or else? they would be killed by tartarus corp.
who decides the punishment?
each player is watched by cameras around the city in places no one would even think to look which allows spectators to place their bets and vote on how to "punish" a hider. as long as it doesnt kill the hider its fair game!
spectators are also able to donate to players, tartarus bounty on each player increases with the more support they have from spectators. however, spectators can only support 1 player each month.
want to join?
the game works from an app that shows the player their status as seeker or hider, generated nickname, and a streaming function that allows the player to directly interact with their fans. anyone is eligible to join, but only the interesting and desperate are able to survive.

To me, children of Zeus are natural strategists in the same way children of Athena are. But the difference is that Zeus and his kids have multiple plans and contingencies if a plan fails at a certain point and needs to shift gears. So like they employ Plan A and get all the way to stage four of the plan when suddenly there's a deviation from expectations for whatever reason. So they shift gears from Plan A1 to Plan A2, which accounted for this deviation and continue on.
Athena and her kids, however, come up with one solid, somewhat broader plan and refuse to deviate from it at all unless there is literally no other choice, in which case they will improvise quickly and efficiently to accomodate the change and get back on track to the original plan.
#happy talks pjo#happy talks greek mythos#jason in the corner coming up with extremely detailed solutions to unexpected possibilities mapping out every stage and everyone's roles#annabeth is just you're gonna go fight this guy and you're gonna fight that guy and we're gonna try to get this thing and that's the plan#she can be detail oriented when the time calls for it (re: architecture) but she knows that life is unpredictable#so keeping plans broader to account for possible deviations while still being successful is more important in a battle#than you know whatever jason's doing#this is fully based off my hc of pre-war paranoid anxiety fulled baby zeus spending too much time at the whiteboard#and now he has over a hundred different plans of attack with multiple contingencies for possible deviations#and yes he wants his freshly vomited siblings to memorize every single one (they do not. he hates it)#jason grace#annabeth chase#zeus#athena#i guess one way to look at it as well is that athena and her kids pride themselves on their intelligence#so whatever plan they come up with is The Plan and that's why they try to shift any deviation back to The Plan#they are stubborn about their intelligence and planning for contingencies feels like they are telling people they are unconfident about it#where zeus and his kids understand that you have to account for unexpected changes that throw the plan off course#trying to get back to the original plan will be difficult and sometimes impossible so its better to move with it#so accounting for possible deviations (eg. betrayals or a change in schedule and so on) is important to achieving the main goal

I think if they ever brought back Wydowna for g3 they should change her to be the daughter of Anansi. Mainly because Anansi is actually a personified spider creature instead of just being a person who was transformed into a spider like Arachne

my silly fan-made greek mythology lego thing :3
finally decided that if i’m gonna be making a lego greek mythology thing (inspired by what lmk did with jttw) i might as well start slowly introducing the characters
so here’s our main characters :3!
Tumblr media
Icarus (Left) and Atalanta (Right) are friends, and have been since they were little. Icarus 🪽☀️
Icarus is one of our main protagonists for LEGO Mythos! He's an energetic and cool guy who can barely fly, despite having wings.
In Greek Mythology, Icarus was imprisoned in a tower, along with his father Daedalus, because Theseus escaped the labyrinth he created, which caused their King to believe them to be traitors. They escaped the tower with a pair of wings that Daedalus made.
Icarus' father warned him to not fly too close to the sea or sun, but Icarus didn't listen. He's flew too high, causing the wax used to make his wings to meet, and he plunged into the sea and died.
This Icarus isn't actually the Icarus in the story though, simply named after him because of the yellow (now blue) wings on his back. Why he has these, no one knows. He lives with his aunt Pandora.
Icarus seems to have a penchant for getting caught up in trouble, which is why he's constantly at the centre of every villainous attack on the city he lives in, New Atlas (which isn't an actual city in real life).
Icarus has a weird talent for being able to beat maze puzzles, and even though he can't fly with his wings, he can still hover and glide, although it's only for a short amount of time (like Pit from Kid Icarus).
Icarus is this world's MK.
His voice actor would be Anthony Del Rio.
- Pit/Dark Pit (Kid Icarus)
- Kyle (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
- Kel (Star Wars Resistance)
- Ekko (League of Legends)
Atalanta 🏹👑
Atalanta is our second main protagonist, alongside Icarus. She's a determined go-getter who doesn't stop when she puts her mind to something.
In the myths, she was abandoned by her birth father and left to die, only to be found by a she-bear (a symbol of Artemis) and be raised by the bear to become a strong huntress and devoted herself to Artemis.
In this story, Atalanta was mysteriously abandoned in a forest. She was found by Artemis, who named her after Atalanta and brought her to be raised by a well off family.
Later on in life, when she and Icarus begin getting caught up in godly shenanigans, Artemis appears before Atalanta and offers the mortal to be her successor, whom Atalanta immediately agrees.
Atalanta enables all of Icarus' dumb ideas and actions, but knows when it goes too far. She always has Icarus' back no matter what, just like how he has hers.
Atalanta is this world's Mei.
Her voice actor would be Caitlin Glass
- Mina Ashido (My Hero Academia)
- Cammy (Street Fighter)
- Damian Desmond (SPYxFAMILY)
- Diancie (Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction)

~LEGO Mythos (Fanmade)~
Atalanta: What do you think Theseus will do for a distraction?
Icarus: They’ll probably, like, make a noise or throw a rock. That’s what I would do.
*Building explodes and several car alarms go off*
Icarus: ... or he could do that.

Me for the longest while: Hera is super meticulous and organized and is the person gently tapping a portrait until it's perfectly aligned and/or gutting the entire wall to rebuild it because they've realized it's why the pictures keep getting off tilt by less than a degree. She very much is a perfectionist, and likes everything to be spotless and flawless, from her home to her children to the entirety of Olympus, and blessings on anyone who threatens her immaculate tranquility.
Me for the last couple years or so: Zeus is also super organized but in an orderly, autistic, "everything has its place and must be in that right place, and if it is not I will not handle it in a healthy way at all because I have been more or less catered to my entire life and therefore have terrible coping mechanisms" and "gets weird about the right names and uses for things, and will get even weirder, for example, if you use a mug for cold water because it's supposed to be for hot beverages" kind of way
Me:
Me: This is definitely an area they fight and have weird sex about.
