Zeus: What are you talking about? I'm a very trusting person! I trust all of you.
Zeus: Except Poseidon.
Poseidon: That's fair.
Zeus: And Hestia a little bit.
Hestia: What??
Zeus: You're too nice, it feels fake. Like you're lulling me into a false sense of security so you can steal my organs later.
Hestia: Wha- I don't want your organs!
Zeus: That's exactly what someone who wants to steal my organs while I sleep would say.
Zeus: Hades. You can hide in shadows and you're always talking to people who aren't there.
Hades: Those people are ghosts. Ghosts who have helped us.
Zeus: Right, but how can I be sure that you're not using them to plot against me?
Hades: Why would I plot against you?
Zeus: I don't fucking know! But you could be. And that's the important thing to focus on.
Hades: That's not-
Zeus: And Dem! Look, you seem great. But. You know... there's just something there that worries me.
Demeter: And that is?
Zeus: Don't know! But it's there.
Zeus: So really I trust all of you, but not that much, save for Hera. Except, obviously, when I don't trust her. But it's mostly I do. Usually. Sometimes.
Zeus: Once.
Hera: Are you fucking kidding me?
Zeus: No, I've definitely trusted you one time. Sort of. A little bit. It was very difficult.
Hera: You have a problem and you need help.
Zeus: That's exactly what someone who wants me to fail would say.

i think of demeter in her fields, hands buried in the earth, guiding smaller hands than hers. showing her daughter how to help the plants, how each one flourishes. the plants her daughter grew will die when she loses her, withering away to nothing but bittersweet memories neither goddess can truly revisit.
of andromache, cradling the babe she always wished she'd had closer to her chest as the cries of trojans ring through the streets. her husband is dead. her city is burning. hush, little baby, do not cry, mama's going to sing you a lullaby.
other times i ponder thetis, watching her son grow up. he was sweet once, he laughed louder with every passing day. his hands were so soft, his touch so gentle. how she watched him leave like a lamb sent to slaughter. he has sharp claws now, he wields them alongside his even sharper fangs.
i wonder what hera must have felt when she watched heracles grow, held him with all the care in the world. named after her, her little lion. did she feel remorse for the child she lost when she learnt of his parentage? or was that betrayal simply another part of her now?
clytemnestra weeping on the beach, cradling her eldest against her. a daughter lost to the whims of men and their wars, another lost to jealousy and the need for vengeance. a son lost to deception. it is alright, orestes, do not cry, you have made me so proud.
did pasiphae scream when asterius was ripped away from her and locked in a cage he could only escape through death? did gaia cradle her stomach when the children she brought to life were forced back within her, unwanted?
did anyone but them care?

Pausanias, Description of Greece 9. 3. 1 :
"Hera, they say, was for some reason or other angry with Zeus, and had retreated to Euboia. Zeus, failing to make her change her mind, visited Kithaeron, at that time despot in Plataia [or the mountain-god], who surpassed all men for his cleverness. So he advised Zeus to make an image of wood, and to carry it, wrapped up, in a bullock wagon, and to say that he was celebrating his marriage with Plataia, the daughter of Asopos. So Zeus followed the advice of Kithairon. Hera heard the news at once, and at once appeared on the scene. But when she came near the wagon and tore away the dress from the image, she was pleased at the deceit, on finding it a wooden image and not a bride, and was reconciled to Zeus. To commemorate this reconciliation they celebrate a festival called Daidala."
Okay a little God analysis based on some discussion we have with @margaretkart in regards to Zeus and his relationship with Hera. And some conversations i have had with @naori-is-nidaime-hokage
I love it how modern media makes it sound as if Hera wanted nothing to do with Zeus but she stays because "she is goddess of marriage" and all. And yet here Pausanias gives us an interesting and HILARIOUS myth in regards to them two.
For example don't you love it how Hera acts like every stubborn mortal girl who says "I'm leaving!" When she gets angry? And yet when she hears that he is to marry another she goes "no way! He's mine!" And immediately runs there to stop the wedding.
Zeus also tried to reconcile with her which again is interesting all on its own. He doesn't want to lose her.
Hera goes literally berserk-girl-in-american-romcom mode as she rushes and fucking tears the clothes apart from the statue! Like...girl! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Upon realizing what happened both parties reconcile knowing they love each other.
Like sure they have a rocky relationship but boy oh boy moments like this should be discussed more. 🤣🤣🤣

I love how so many gods have like an animal sidekick
Zeus with his eagles
Hera with her peacock
Apollo and his white raven
Artemis with her dogs and stag
Athena and her owl
Dionysos with his panthers (and donkey!)
Aphrodite and her doves
Even Ganymede got a rooster

Hera x reader (trust) pt. 2 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
later when you had returned from the market you set the basket of items you had bought on a small stool, you had expected to walk into your room and see hera gone. she was a goddess so she was most likely heading to be with her own people. but iinstead, you see her sitting on the pile of fabrics struggling to cut an apple. "youyou'rek." she states not bothering to look up. "well it is my house" you laugh. "would you like some help?" you ask, she pauses but nods dropping the knife. you sit near her and cut the apple into slices. "it may take some time before you get used to not having your arm, I mighte able to convince the blacksmith to make you a prosthetic i can't guarantee itll be of the best quality" you say handing her the apple peice. "i know i said i dont wanna pry into your life but what was it like on Olympus?" you ask, she finishes the apple slice before answering. "its quite nice. theres greenery and elegant architecture, with a god in every corner" she says, "that sounds lovely" you smile. the two of you sit in silence for a moment. "if youll excuse me im going to plant the seeds from the apple in my garden, hopefully by spring ill have another tree." you say standing up, she nods and continues eating. you take the seeds to your garden and carefully plant them, watering it with some water from a jug. as you stood to return to your house, she was pinned agaisnt a large figure but the handle of a hammer at her neck. "where is my mother".

The Greek Mythos Project
Hello everybody, my name is Camila and I am the creator of The Greek Mythos Project. My pronouns are They/Them and I can otherwise be found on Tumblr as @ixhkor-and-ambrosxa. Any and all questions can either be directed here or there and I'd be happy to help any of you :).
So... What Is This Project And Blog About? Well, it's about The Greek Mythos Project. The Greek Mythos Project is a new thing I've created here on Tumblr in order to showcase smaller artists waiting to get out there, feel like their audience is too niche, and to ultimately learn more about Greek Mythology. It originally stemmed from a smaller, more personal project where I intended to 'rewrite' all of mythology in order to learn more about it and to generally get back into writing, but as I thought more about the specifics, I realized how time consuming and burnt-out I would be. That thought lead to another and another... and then I was like: what if I release this idea into the world and allow others to participate in it? Then I'd still be able to learn more about all of it, but I could also meet new writers and see more writing styles. So, here we are, with a blog & all.
What Is The Project's Main Goal? The ultimate main goal of this project is to showcase others' work. I myself--as a writer of lesser-known characters--know how hard it is to get that niche audience or even gain the courage to let loose those 'weird' headcanons so I wanted to provide an easy way to get that. I want to know those niche writers and characters and 'weird' headcanons--one of my general hyperfixations is worldbuilding! So, even if nobody else wants to read it, I want to. I want to know, I want to learn, and I want to be. So, the ultimate goal is getting out there, but there are some lesser and more personal goals such as networking, learning to work with wider and more diverse audiences (knowledge, headcanons, and otherwise), and having something bigger than myself to work on so I don't end up spiraling. It lets me know, as someone who struggles with mental health, that there's always going to be something to fall back on, such as this project :).
What Is This Project Exactly? The Greek Mythos Project will hopefully be a long AO3/Wattpad fic made up of the POVs and Stories of various characters in Greek Mythology. The end project will hopefully be arranged in chronological order and include as many stories and versions of the stories as they can. The possibilities and submissions can be endless but the only restriction this project asks for is that it keeps to one POV only. I ask this because this is the vision I am hoping to pursue but there will be a companion-fic set that you can submit to if you want a Multiple POV submission. Each chapter that we post will include your socials, how to find you, how to find your other works, the submission-fic notes, personal notes on the fic, and anything else you or we decide is best to put. Of course, you can opt out of any and all of this and I can just put anonymous <3. This project is essentially a mass Character Study/Introspection, if you'd like it in more simple and fandom-based terms :).
What Are The Project's Requirements? Other than having only one POV... there aren't really any. Of course, there's a level of trust and respect required on both sides once we all start working with each other, but that's just the basics. The word count can be anything, Spicy & More Graphic scenes can be taken once we have a coordinator for that and/or get further into it, and hopefully we'll have editors and beta-ers if you, as a writer, want or require them. If anything, I can help edit and work with you. This is a pretty formless job; it can be writing, it can be art, it can be mood boards, it can be collabs. As long as everything's communicated effectively, nothing should be a problem.
How Do I Submit? Currently, the best way to submit things is through the Ask Box on this page. I'll also be opening up the submissions tab/thing but I have zero experience on my part with it so the safest bet's through the ask box. Same thing with private posts, they don't always work so, when in doubt, go to the ask box :). Feel free, whenever you submit via the ask box, to put a little line at the bottom or top with your information, any notes, etc for me to put in when I eventually post this. Also, please check in on this blog every once in a while in case we need to ask to clarify something <3.
Can I Participate Even Without Socials? Yes, you absolutely can! Our ask box will always have an anonymous option and even if you have something or another and just want this to be separate, feel free to tell us you want to be anonymous! I and those who I may be working with will completely get and respect your privacy! /pos /gen
What Is The Project's Deadline? As of now, there isn't one. This project is supposed to be long term, which means it should still be going five or so years from now (depending on how the world's going at that time, at least) and so there is no deadline going on for the submissions-end. On my end, I plan to start picking it up and publishing around Late-August or July because I hope by that point, we'll have some submissions or at least be working a lot more on this as it picks up and also I know this month is really stressful for a lot of people with final projects, exams, etc and getting ready for Summer so hopefully that'll be a decent amount of time to really get things going.
Can I Help Out? Yes, you absolutely may! I'd love some editors to help back me up on things, beta-ers, Spicy-Scene coordinators (because that's just not my editing cup of tea) and other people that's going to be crucial to bringing this to light. Again, this project is based on community and I love people so feel free to reach out so we can work together to see what's the right fit, aka schedules, genres, etc! I might even create a discord server if we get large enough!
Any Other Comments? Feel free to ask questions. This and my main account are always free to pop in if you'd like, just know that it might take me a while to get back to you... it's a bad habit :(. Also, fandom-based characters and chapters are completely on the table! I personally find it much easier to write in a fandom-based setting so if that's your jam, feel free and make sure to tell us where you're comin' from so we showcase it! At some point, too, I'd love to make a little 'spreadsheet' thing on here to show who's working on who to maybe get people out of their shell or introduce others or maybe even collab on stuff!
Anyway, I think that should all be it :). Feel free to ask questions, interact with us, or even share the #The Greek Mythos Project on other platforms if you'd like or with friends! Also keep up with us on the same tag for updates, questions, or even maybe prompts/challenges if ya'll would like :). See you at some point and have fun!

Thinking about Zeus unchaining Hera from the sky. Thinking about him helping her to their bedroom on her wobbly legs. Thinking about her blood smudging all over his hands and clothes. Thinking about trying to patch her up but she refuses his help. Thinking about her doing it herself before rolling over in bed, covering herself in a blanket like she's trying to hide from him, hide from the world. Thinking about him staring at her trying to sleep through the pain that still rolls through her injuries. Thinking about him staring at his bloodied hands.
Thinking about him never being able to wash the blood off his hands. It's always there. Even when it's physically gone, the stain of it haunts him. Every time he looks at her, all he think about is the blood. The scars that still lingered in certain spots. The pain she gritted her teeth through as she hung there in chains he put on her. How she looked at him, defiant and betrayed, when he finally came to take her down.
"Whatever you say," she whispered in monotone when he rationalized his choice of punishment. "Whatever you want."
He chained her. He hurt her. He made her bleed.
He became the very husband she did her best to protect other women from. And he couldn't even bear to apologize for it.
But she defied him. She deserved it, didn't she? Deserved to hang in humiliation above chaos, knowing that if a single lock broke she'd fall and be swallowed whole by the prime primordial being, just as their father once swallowed her whole, absorbed away into nothingness.
What was wrong with him?
She doesn't touch him anymore. She ignores the way he reaches for her, steps just outside his the stretch of his hand so he only ghosts the softness of her skin. She wraps herself up in that blanket, covering away every inch of her.
He misses her argumentative tone, the way she rolled her eyes when he spoke, her stubborn corrections. Now she's just... quiet.
Please, he thinks as he watches her engage heartily with the other gods, watches her laugh and smile and strains to hear her beautiful voice from across the room. I'm sorry. Come back to me. Please.
