Comforted by an Alluring Incubus || [M4A] [Audio/ASMR RP]
Tumblr media
Stepping out of New York, we’re back in Appalachia with Adonis as we get to know a new listener, Sugar, and see more of how Boss is doing. New year and I’m trying to lean into more comfort audios that also don’t detract too much from the narrative, hope you enjoy it!

In Oxenfurt there is a sacred tradition, which no one dares encroach upon: no one can be arrested during a theatre performance. And the scholars of Oxenfurt, for all their learning, are a dramatic, suspicious sort, and so the law stands. It's been taken advantage of by many a drunk and disorderly student, taking refuge in the audience of the Grand Theatre to evade the guard, until inevitably, the curtain falls and their reprieve is over.
When they come to arrest Professor Pankrantz, his students won't have it. He had come back to them quiet and broken this winter, more careless with his dissent, more bold in his defiance. He did not seem to care when the warrant was put out for his arrest, as an elvish sympathizer, a sodomite, and a conspirator against Nilfgaard.
"He knows the White Wolf will save him. He always does." Essi had said with false confidence, but the weeks pass and the university's protection wanes and the White Wolf does not come.
"He's not coming." Adrien whispers, hunched over his songbook. "We must do something."
"We will," Essi responds.
When he hears the guards outside his office, Jaskier puts down his quill for the last time. He swings open the door.
"Gentlemen!" He says. The armored faces are featureless, unmoving. "How would you like me?" They grab and cuff him hard across the head, then frogmarch him down the hall. His head rings like a great bell tolling the hour. He can feel the blood trickling out his ear.
There is a great crash, and a scuffle, and a large hand grabs him by the elbow. "Geralt." He whispers.
But it's not. Jeremiah smiles awkwardly, and holds his dented tuba in one hand. "I used to be a blacksmith before this." The quiet youth says. "Never thought it would come in handy again."
"My dear boy." Jaskier says as he's pulled along. "You shouldn't have. You saved my life."
"Your tutoring saved mine during finals. I think we're even, Professor."
Jaskier is hurried in through the backstage door, crowded with students carrying instruments, costumes, sheet music, and props. They all part way to let him through. "Top box, Professor." Essi says, hurrying him. "We saved it just for you."
He sits down, bewildered, as the guards shout outside and the orchestra tunes frantically. The curtain opens just as the guards make it into the auditorium. Everything hushes in that special breath before a show.
Essi steps on stage.
"Thank you and welcome to the members of the Oxenfurt Academy faculty, staff, and student body who have come to support this performance," she says. "We'd also like to welcome representatives of various law enforcement communities who have chosen to join us in the Academy Grand Theatre tonight. In the spirit of the arts, leave all discord at the door, and please enjoy this special performance by the students of Oxenfurt - 'The Adversities of Loving', a tribute to the life and works of Professor Julian Alfred Pankrantz."
She bows. The audience applauds. The play begins.

Prompt 136
Contrary to popular belief, Jaskier was the one who said no to riding a horse. Jaskier willingly walks alongside Geralt and Roach. Because Jaskier is afraid of riding horses. Don't get him wrong! He loves horses! Just not being on them as they run 48 kilometers per hour. When Jaskier sprains his ankle walking, however, Geralt decides enough is enough and it's time to teach him how to ride and help him face his fear. Jaskier sits in front of Geralt on top of Roach as Geralt teaches him how to ride, and every time Jaskier gets too nervous, Geralt will hear his heartbeat tick up, and he'll hug him, or praise him, and Jaskier will calm again. Jaskier's been getting better. To the point that Geralt can now just walk alongside Roach and Jaskier, hand resting on Jaskier's leg or back. Geralt decides to surprise Jaskier with his own horse! Geralt finds something sturdy and gentle, but also pretty, knowing his bard will love to comb and braid the horse, and will want to show it off. It's a white horse, which certainly won't stay white on the road, but then again, Jaskier will most likely delight in cleaning the horse and admiring it's sheen when it's washed. Geralt presents Jaskier with his horse, and Jaskier is overjoyed. Sobbing with happiness, hugging and kissing the horse, and Geralt has never been more in love with his bard. The first time Jaskier rides his own horse, they go at a very gentle slow pace, as the horse seems unsure about being ridden. Jaskier cajoles and consoles it through it all, and soon enough they're riding at steady paces, both Jaskier and his horse now feeling safe and brave enough to go at a normal pace, sometimes even a bit faster. Geralt is happy. Until one day, big white wings materialize on the sides of Jaskier's horse, and the damn thing takes off with Jaskier still on it. Shit.

Edgin getting discouraged when his flirting with Xenk never seems to go anywhere and he ends up writing Lovefool in a fit of drunken emotion, a song about desperation and unrequited need that he never intends to sing anywhere Xenk can hear.
Except of course it’s never that easy, and Xenk ends up hearing the song and grows worried about Edgin and deeply offended on his behalf, because what manner of fool would spurn the affections of a man such as Edgin? What manner of monster would make Edgin feel so low and unloved?
He has no idea it was him, because he didn’t realize Edgin was flirting with him and sending him signals and had no idea that some of his own responses could have been seen as romantic. He had no idea he was accidentally leading Edgin on. So begins the hilarious misunderstanding of Xenk trying to figure out who hurt Edgin and Edgin trying to figure out why Xenk seems so intense these days

[ID: Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint fanart in the style of a yellowed film reel. It depicts a line of many identical office worker Kim Dokjas sitting in folding chairs and looking at their phones. Their faces are obscured by black cutouts. In the center, one Dokja stands up, this time wearing a white coat and equipped with demon horns and a sword. He is holding his phone and looking away from the viewer. Overlaid is the quoted line “‘This young man had been waiting for the destruction of the world for a long time.’” End ID]

In Much Ado About Nothing, the best thing about the "kill Claudio" line is its tonal shift. Before, when Benedick says "Bid me do anything for you," he's being playful.
They've just had a bumbling love confession, and he's giddy, they've been teasing. The dialogue beforehand reads
BENEDICK I will swear by it that you love me; and I will make him eat it that says I love not you. BEATRICE Will you not eat your word? BENEDICK With no sauce that can be devised to it. I protest I love thee.
There's some wordplay, it's banter, it's a happy moment. When he says "Bid me do anything for thee," he imagines she's going to keep the game going. Instead, "Kill Claudio."
Honestly, I've seen some productions where the line gets a laugh. Because it's so out of left field. If you're reading the play on the page without stage directions, it actually throws you for a loop.
But Beatrice is being strategic. This whole scene has been goading Benedick into this. A few lines prior, we see:
BEATRICE Ah, how much might the man deserve of me that would right her! BENEDICK Is there any way to show such friendship? BEATRICE A very even way, but no such friend. BENEDICK May a man do it? BEATRICE It is a man's office, but not yours.
She's literally saying in so many words, oh I would be so grateful to any man that could do me this favor. If only there was someone around... One of the major themes of the play is how men are driven to action by women. Beatrice cannot "eat his heart in the marketplace" as she wants, she can't make the challenge, but Benedick can. What she can do as a woman is to entice him to action.
There's another line in the play which, admittedly, is a sex joke (thanks Shakespeare) but adds to this theme. When Benedick makes a joke and offers her a buckler, we get the line from Margaret:
MARGARET Give us the swords; we have bucklers of our own.
A buckler is a shield to catch a sword in it, in this case it can be taken as a metaphor for a vagina. Margaret is teasing, but the subtext here is that the men have their weapons, and the women have theirs. It's Benedick's sword, but Beatrice's challenge to Claudio.
