Mashael Alsaie is a Bahraini photographer and video artist based between Bahrain and UAE. Alsaie's work forms fractured narratives that reflect critical thinking about feminity, ritual, and representation. Mashael holds a BA in Urban Studies from UC Berkeley and is currently pursuing an MA in Photography, Video, and Media Arts from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Alsaie’s work has been featured in group exhibitions at Misk, Riyadh (2020), PS122, New York (2019), and Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Festival (2020). She has recently completed a residency at Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn, New York, and is a fellow at Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation (2021).

I'm white, I was born in Thailand, my white parents were also born in Thailand. Guess I'm Thai now and should start marking off Asian on documents since being born in a country makes you that country's race. Good to know! :D

yes you having two generations of ur family in thailand is the exact same as indian singaporeans who have been in singapore since the 1800s, the same century as chinese singaporeans.
