A lot of the art/headcanons I see for AUs where Luke and Leia grew up together are in agreement that Leia beats the shit out of anyone who's mean to Luke. Which I don't disagree with, but let's not forget how Luke absolutely whaled on Vader at the mere suggestion of turning Leia to the dark side.

My point being that both twins would be ready to throw hands with anyone who upsets their sibling (despite the fact that said sibling is more than capable of doing so themself)

bernice summerfield is literally one of the best characters ever i think. shes got all these traits that should correspond to her being a Strong Female Character(TM) whos hypercompetent and Hides her Feelings or whatever the fuck. like shes really smart and really good at a lot of shit and a great fighter and badass and shes got a tragic backstory. except the thing is shes also like really cringe as a human being. yeah yeah she had her very cool escape from being deployed as a soldier and then she forged all her identification and qualifications and everything so she could go follow her true passions. btw her passion is to write academic literature and sleep in a tent. any time she has her own living space it immediately fills up with garbage and dirty laundry. shes a crack shot and a great sword fighter (for some reason. which i love) but she hates killing people so instead shes just always beating motherfuckers unconscious with her bare fists. shes a practical dresser except she REALLY likes big sequiny princess ballgowns and everybody else thinks its a little embarrassing. she got so fixated on documenting bad jokes from the 20th century that her subconscious started rebelling against her. shes canonically a theatre kid. shes a one-liner-dropper. she gets a new head injury every day of her life. and shes YOUR next president.

This Cinderella's story takes place in a world where all the fairytale characters exist but their stories have all gone wrong. It's a horror Dnd campaign, and there's also a multivariate concept where if people die, they're basically just reborn in a worse version of the story. Cinderella here is an NPC and is part of a faction called the Daughters of the Crown, which is a group of rebel nialaistic princesses who want to destroy the Neverafter to be free. She stabbed her fairy godmother in the chest with a glass shard from her shoe and she's a crazy powerful fighter. She wears full plate armor made of reflective glass so that she's essentially invisible when standing still. She's super badass but still is caring and funny. In the final battle when the PCs are fighting the Daughters of the Crown and other bad guys, she turns to their side after the other princesses are defeated and other giant villains come in, including her step mother, who became an eldritch horror. She stabs her stepmother through the heart with a shard of glass after dismissing the stepmother statement that she hurt her because it was destiny, saying that it doesn't matter if it was free will or destiny, she didn't like it. TLDR: She's a badass black woman/princess/knight

This woman has been through so much Shit. She has to go through the usual suffering of Cinderella (dead parents, abusive step-family) and then find out her entire life is a lie, just a story where she has no agency over her life? Her suffering is for someone else's amusement? So she's doing bad. Her stepmother also tries to destroy the ENTIRE universe after snapping. And okay. Maybeeee Cinderella tried to kill some people (mainly the campaign's party) but after she lost everything I can't help but feel a little bad for her. Thank you for your time.

She spends years searching only to when she finally finds and embraces her watch her be shot. Cinders is so devastated by this that she plunges her wedding ring into the heart of the man who shot her love killing him.

HUH? AAAAAH

Sorry but my toxic trait is that I will always be more interested in redeemed!Vader AUs than in pre-fallen Anakin.

Young Anakin is insecure, erratic, resentful, somtimes paranoid and possessive. He's too indecisive to rebel against the Jedi and try and save Shmi until it's too late. He's so worried about losing Padme and Kenobi but all his actions drive them away. He keeps secrets he should share and tells Palpatine things that should always have been secret. Which is very understandable given how young he is, and in the uncomfortable liminal state of not officially being a slave any more, but also still belonging body and soul to the Jedi.

But Vader is confident. Vader is together, man. To quote the princess diaries, Vader has achieved self-actualisation. To quote Douglas Adams, Vader knows where his towel is. Vader has endured 20 years of the imperial elite treating him like dirt cos of his background and faith and he's Done. He's run out of fucks to give. He's force choking people and cracking terrible jokes and telling generals the death stars are stupid to their faces. Vader's endured 20 years of respiratory pain and is still flying fighter jets. He's still lightsaber fighting with four prosthetic limbs. He's trying to save his relationship with his kid through father-son world dominantion.

Imperial!Vader is a terrible, terrible person, a mass-murderer with the morality of a depressed lemming. But if he lived long enough to fight for a better cause, he could be so much more badass than he was as a young man. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

What we should learn from him: Fight. Keep fighting. Even when you're old and gray, you can still fight.

#1 Space Dad who looked the Empire down head on. Risked his and his family's lives to protect people who couldn't protect themselves.

What we can learn from him: Help people who can't help themselves. Drive your speeder right up to the steps of the burning Temple and try to save a padawan. They don't have to be Your People for you to try and protect them.

Bodhi Rook, who realized he had been led astray and ended up on the wrong side and fixed that.

What we can learn from him: It's easy to fall into a bad place, especially when you don't have a good support system. But there are people who will help you get out if you just ask.

Galen Erso, who did what he had to in order to protect his daughter but still risked his life to sabotage the Empire from within.

What we can learn from him: Don't always take someone at face value. Just because they look like they're working for the enemy doesn't mean they aren't doing what they can to help.

Finn, raised his entire life as a stormtrooper, who finally said enough was enough.

What we can learn from him: It doesn't matter how you were raised or who you were raised by, you can still choose to stand up and do the right thing.

Aleksandr Kallus, who bought into the Empire 10000% from the start. Did horrible things, including being responsible/complicit in genocide. Eventually realized that he had seriously fucked up and tried to make reparations.

What we can learn from him: Anyone can change. Anyone. No matter how many terrible things a person has done in the past, it all comes down to the choices they make moving forward.

So I marathoned the last season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power today, and would have watched this years ago if I'd known about the badass canon enemies-to-lovers lesbians.

Why I actually started is because someone was complaining about Catra, in a way that made her sound cool and interesting to me. She is a glorious disaster in exactly the way I like. I'm exhibiting self-control by not reblogging 500 pieces of Catradora fanart in a row. And they have 12,000+ fics on AO3? I don't even know where to start with that. I feel like a starving peasant who's used to scavenging in half-dead fandoms, and someone's just sat me down at an overloaded banquet table and now I'm figuring out which cutlery to use. Decadence.

Have to admit, I do enjoy the Catradora / Rafalear parallel tropes too. Sunshine hero who was raised to be a warrior for the bad guys, had their mind messed up by an evil parental figure, rebelled to join the good guys and found sanctuary with a magical queen, had to unite a bunch of royals across the world, and conquers everything with the power of friendship x villain who was influenced by the same evil parental figure but found it much harder to break away, almost killed everyone on their world with their dramatic bullshit, tried to do One Good Thing without expecting any rewards, and is now throwing themselves into redemption while still being very spiky and tsundere about it?

Adora and Alear would be instant friends, while Catra and Rafal were side-eyeing each other dubiously and wondering who'd win in a fight. Nothing I like more than shaking fandoms together into weird crossover cocktails!

Obviously the accidental incest in Star Wars is uncomfortable, and the real reason it happened was that Luke and Leia being siblings wasn't the plan until Return of the Jedi. However, you can kind of make it make sense.

These are Force-sensitive twins - they shared a womb for nine months, immersed in each other's Force presence. Imagine being a young man, seeing a young woman for the first time, and something inside you telling you that this person is Important. She's something that's been missing, almost like another part of you. An invisible thread is tying you together. I feel like it'd be pretty easy to mistake that for romantic feelings.

I’m halfway throughout Eldest and the only thing I’ve found I don’t like is Eragon’s obsession with Arya. I really like Arya, she is an elf princess who chose to join a rebel faction and guard a stolen dragon egg from the most powerful man in their world. How badass is that!?And I get Eragon is a human teen boy still but after a book and a half of hearing him moon over her, it is tiring. I’ve found myself skimming when he talk about her because it’s always the same thing, how pretty she is.

Here’s the first draft of the first chapter of that lute and adam focused fic. i have like two weeks before i can make an ao3 account, the invitation queue is LONG. so here’s this for now, i’ll probably revamp it a bit and maybe work on further chapters between now and getting a new account

Hell is not something you ever expect. When you don’t believe in an afterlife you don’t tend to see it coming when you end up there, and when you do believe in an afterlife you only see yourself going up. Never down, never to the fire and brimstone. When you only arrive once a year to exterminate the population of hell you also don’t normally predict to see yourself ending up there permanently as a resident, yet Adam and Lute have found themselves in this exact predicament. Perhaps rebelling against the Princess of Hell and her newfound proven system of redemption sounds like a sure-fire way to get there on paper, but hindsight is 20/20.

“This fuckin’ blows, man,” said Adam, kicking rocks as Lute walked behind him at a respectable distance. “How was I supposed to know Sera was bein’ that serious? One demon glowing white and going up doesn’t seem like a good enough fuckin’ reason to change everything!” He threw his arms up in an exasperated manner, barely aware of his surroundings.

“I agree, sir.” Lute replied, though she was aware he wasn’t looking for a reply. A small statement to fill the silence in between his own words was all he needed as he ranted and raved at the injustice he had been served.

“I mean, seriously, I’m not just some guy they pulled off the streets, I’m fuckin’ Adam, the original! Throwing me down here like I’m NOTHING. Can you fuckin’ believe the balls that must have took?” Lute nodded along as they walked to nowhere. They were aimless down here, walking for walkings sake, and Lute didn’t have the energy to question it. She might not be talking nearly as much as the original man, but she agreed with his statements. He was a leader, a man of virtue, and she was his right hand Exorcist. All I did was support my superior.” With a flick of her wrist she let go of his collar, making him stumble before regaining his stance. For a five foot-nothing bitch she sure could throw him around like he was nothing. He wasn’t to going to think about that too much.

“okay, okay, calm your tits.” Adam crossed his arms over his chest in an attempt to seem nonchalant after having his ass handed to him in less than five sentences. It had been his idea. He was the one who convinced Lute to join him in going against Sera’s acceptance of the princesses plans. Granted, she hadn’t needed much convincing at all, he was more than aware of her own distaste to the sudden change. Looking down at her he felt compelled to ask why she was still here at all. He fucked up, and now he had gotten them both cast down to the blazing abyss. “So like, why are you tailing my dick down here still?”

Lute allowed herself a moment before replying. “I have my loyalties. Just because we no longer look over an army doesn’t mean you’re not still my commanding officer.” A pause. “And just because you fucked up doesn’t mean I’d abandon my post.” He could almost say he was thankful that despite everything she was still here instead of leaving him to wallow like he definitely would have if not for her eyes on him forcing him to keep himself up. If there was ever a time to attempt to open up and try to show his appreciation for her sticking around it would be now. It was the perfect opportunity to express a level of gratitude he has never and probably will never show to a woman again.
