me: truly a well crafted tragedy is such a bittersweet pleasure to take in and serves a purpose, not just as a sad story but as a reminder that even that which ends badly might not have happened in vain or for nothing. The love, the grief, the actions still meant something simply for having taken place and for us partaking in it.

also i'm just gonna gently put out there that while we're in a big moment now of - by necessity and very rightfully! - championing and defending sex and sexual content against very real persecution and censorship, i really want people to make sure that while we're doing that we're not tipping right back into the ace discourse days of 'if you don't like sex or refuse to perform participation in sex to a degree i expect, you're a sex negative homophobic censoring puritan'

someone does not have to like, enjoy, want to participate in, create art about, hear about, witness, etc any kind of sex or porn. full stop. that includes how aces write the best smut or hand out water bottles at the orgy or whatever else. no one, asexual or otherwise, has to participate or enjoy or be interested in sex or porn.

please fight for, defend, champion, and uplift sex and sexual content. please. i will continue to do so as well. but at the same time, do not start demanding certain levels of participation in or enjoyment of this content from people. someone being sex repulsed or disinterested or not wanting to hear about sex or write or see smut is not indicative of them being part of the problem, or a red flag, or a conservative puritan. the right to say no is just as important as it ever was, including to sex in a fictional or in an artistically depicted context.

Nel/XenoAlear fix-it fic idea: When Nel wakes up after her thousand year nap, that's also enough time for Xeno Elyos' Emblems to have recharged and be ready for another wish, right? But, assuming they work the same way as in Main Elyos, there's also the option for a miracle to revive Xeno Alear, riiight?

So that's what they should do, and then Nel, Rafal, and Xeno Alear hop through the portal together, to Main Elyos. Main Alear is surprised to say the least, but he's always up for making another new dragon friend. And now Nel has NO excuse not to finally confess her feelings. They kill Sombron and everybody lives happily ever after, The End.

Gotta say, this chapter might just be one of my favourites. Badass Alear, actual Veyle and Marni bonding (to make what comes next actually hurt), and I swear, the mangaka might be pushing the M!Alear/Alfred agenda with some of those panels, and I am all for it.

they are barring wikipedia. they are barring spotify. they are barring important news - both national news and world news. they are barring mental health forums and LGBTQ related things and so much more. this is not about protecting children, it has never been about protecting children.

the online safety act is an insane privacy breach, and if that does not scare you then you need to think harder about it. it is going to end up in a massive data leak - all the information is getting collected by random third party systems. can we trust them? no. can we even hold them accountable? no. because the government couldn’t even make their own system to do these age checks.

and i hear you - it is important that kids don’t see porn. but even if all this was about protecting kids, it’s sloppy and useless. it’s easy (for now) to get around with a vpn and the only thing the act doing is censoring things that it shouldnt. if the government wanted to protect kids, they would do something concrete about it - they would be putting more funding into education, for example.

of course the policy isnt called “national surveillance”. they’re not going to call it that. everything will be hidden behind things that people want.

so email your MP, and tell other people that this is WAY more than blocking porn from children - this is the first step towards national surveillance.
