#bad news is i picked up this game

In a world where time is consumed like a feast at the table and gone within seconds, Vertin is the only constant.

She travels through tomorrows, yesterdays and eternities. The world bleeds time like watercolor on a canvas.

She is the ink that gives it shape.

She likes to think she has her constants. Like Regulus. She has to think that way, or time will consume her. She's not ready to lose her mind yet.

And yet as time drips through the gaps between her fingers, there is a real constant.

One with curly black hair.

She smells like oranges, smiles like she knows a secret no one else does, holds a gun like it's her only friend.

Sometimes Vertin meets her when she's just a child, running around barefoot with oranges held in her skirt. Sometimes Vertin holds her bleeding in her arms, red pulsing out of the gaping flesh pressed against her fingers. Sometimes Vertin tucks Celosia flowers into her curls and doesn't say a word as she smiles in the sun.

"Don't forget me, my Lord,"

A one sided promise.

Vertin is cursed to remember her always.

She lies in her empty suitcase, thinking of the people who try to be her constants and remembers the girl who left even though she became her only constant.

It pours. Raindrops rush towards the sky as the world smudges out of focus in a myriad of colors.

Vertin quietly watches time go from within her suitcase, a red feather in her hand.

on god im always excited when ppl get into my interests but the sole exception is sonic the hedgehog Then im monitoring you extremely closely and any mistake can mean instant block. IT GETS SERIOUS

I have a couple of main problems with the removal of world state interactivity in DAV and the way it's being presented.

The big one for me is the missed opportunity for what is allegedly the game's central theme: regret. You're telling me that Hawke being left in the Fade isn't weighing on Varric's conscience? Or that Morrigan might regret accepting apotheosis because to protect her son she could no longer have a relationship with him? We don't even need to find out about the outcomes of those particular choices the regret should be there regardless.

The devs acting like they're doing people a favour by not 'invalidating worldstates' is so insulting. World states become invalidated by not acknowledging them where they should logically come up. Morrigan's motherhood was a major part of her character arc. The Well of Sorrows was presented as something that will take away that which you cherish most - not only does this threat never eventuate, there's no mention of what happens to the knowledge associated either, does an Inquisitor who drank just suddenly lose that overnight? Talk about invalidating choices.

It would be one thing if the game had been in Early Access and fans demanded Morrigan get added or something, but the devs chose to include these callback characters. They're coasting off prior good will for fan favourites while effectively having them act like entirely separate people to the ones people fell in love with. Commit to the bit: either do a proper reboot so we can make up our minds about a new cast of characters or actually have returning characters mean something.

I HATE GAMES....that make you go through a dialogue tree only to leave you with only ONE option to choose. i am thinking of one conversation with solas where rook's final and only option of dialogue is "I will do whatever it takes" or whatever and UGHHHH

I HATE THAT especially when i'm trying to run a character that would NEVER say that???

ugh i love roleplay games that make you play a character you didn't at all make /sarcasm

this is just an excuse to make a post about how rambert would never "do whatever it takes", he won't lie even to save face or earn trust.

Mostly just practice at getting his face + hair right and trying, mostly, to draw his clothes (complicated scarf my beloathed 😤), but also featuring Sethos+Rain, my ultimate OTP! (He canonically goes umbrella-less in the rain cause it never rains in the desert, so you KNOW the first time he got caught in the rain in the jungle he was jumping and dancing around like a little kid with the biggest grin on his face 😁🥰)

I might not be playing it, but since @mikanashii and I are both screaming about FFXIV right now, I had a go at designing my own would-be Warrior of Light character! And here she is! Her name is Lila Dawnefyre, and although she often gets mistaken for a spellcaster because of her glasses, she is actually a paladin! A native to Ul'Dah, while she's technically a squire, she still trains under the Sultansworn, in between being an adventurer of course. She's kind, sweet and breezy in nature, but on the battlefield she is an absolute lioness and never hesitates to protect her allies, and she can and will kick your butt if she needs to.

Oh and I also ship her with Haurchefant. Because of course I do.

I acknowledge that the side quests are likely important or at least good to do to raise faction strength, but a bitch is struggling. i am but a small, easily prone to motion sickness, directionally challenged person. what do you mean the quest marker that i feel like i am directly on top of is on another level and there are no ladders? Bioware please. please don't do this to me. again. i will just stick to the main quest and the "go fight the demon or the champion in [location] quests" and get my ass handed to me if i can't figure these out and then i'll cry if i get a bad ending. because that is apparently something that is possible in this game and thus a new fear
