Ratchet overlooked the readings on his scanner's screen, "You were barely getting by with the amount of energon you were consuming."

The Aston Martin rested on the medical berth, optics closed as an IV pumped their fuel and lifeblood into his systems. "He needed it more..." He whispered.

His optics opened a little, already brightening from their dulled state and looking to his son, who was presently sitting up on Bulkhead's shoulders and marveling at the new perspective.

"Well, I can say that he is quite healthy, so I guess a congratulations is in order. How old is he?"

"Who knows... It's hard to keep track of time down there..."

"No offense, but you never seemed like the one to starve yourself of fuel or finer things, Knockout." Bulkhead mumbled.

"It was the strangest thing... I have to... I haven't felt like my old self since... He's all I can focus on..." Knockout tried to sit up a bit, ignoring Ratchet's warning glare. "...I couldn't let them know... They'd try to take him from me."

"That seems a bit doubtful, but a protective parental instinct is understandable, I suppose..." Ratchet sighed, "...Did you know when you were arrested?"

"Do you think I would have let myself get caught if I had?" Knockout shook his helm, "No sparkling should have their first moments be in a cell... I'm just glad someone got through to the council to let us loose."

"Uh... Yeah, about that..." Bulkhead chuckled, "...It's a long story."

"Which can be saved for later." Ratchet gently pushed his fellow medic back down onto his back, "You are going to rest and get some color back in your metal. We can keep an optic on your sparkling for a little while."

"Speaking of which..." Bulkhead pulled the sparkling down from his shoulders to look him over, "Any idea why he looks like a little version of Breakdown?"

"Not a clue... Maybe it was subconscious, I miss that big bruiser sometimes... Wildbreak's not him, though. He's his own bot."

"Well, he seems to like me, that's proof enough." Bulkhead grinned, "Come on, Tiny! Uncle Bulkhead's gonna show you how to lob."

Knockout's optics widened as the wrecker started to leave the medical bay with his son, and he fought Ratchet's arms keeping him down on his back. "Bulkhead, don't you dare-"

"I'm kidding!"

KOBD for the soul

New KOBD adjacent idea that Ratchet was actually VERY fond of Wildbreak before Knockout was exiled. He was one of the first newborn Cybertronians Ratchet got to know and definitely the first kindled sparks he helped with post war. Which makes it really interesting if/when they reunite after knockouts exile and Wildbreak was left with Motormaster.

By the point they'd reunite Wildbreak has come to hate autobots because he perceives Knockouts exile as a huge betrayal. One that led to knockout leaving him with motormaster because of all the exiled former decepticons gunning for him and thus separating Wildbreak from his only parent. Beyond that hanging with Dragstrip and the other stunticons has also negatively influenced Wildbreaks overall views of autobots.

So yeah if he reunites with ratchet he's going to be upset with him to say the least.

And just as i guessed, in this series he's a biiiiig boy, a little taller than Heatseeker and Slashmark (is his name Slashmark? He has Slash somewhere in his same)'s combined size. And, if I can recall all other references for Motormaster i have, he is far from a nice fellow to his own stunticons.

Wildbreak being an absolute menace to the autobots in amnesiac decepticons au. Wildbreak keep saying stuff that don't make sense to anyone and sometimes disappears with no explanation before popping back up just as suddenly. Sometimes barring gifts made by him for the warframes other times with really good food from their home city state. Just Wildbreak becoming this little cryptid to the autobots.

Where did he come from? Where did he go? How is he able to just bend time and space to his will to hop into their dimension whenever he pleases? How does he just magically appear? The autobots will never know cuz Wildbreak will never tell 🤭 he's just using his secret superpower to help his favorite uncle and uncle's friends. The cons riddled with amnesia are very much like "oh blitzwing has a nephew? Ok" and are very passive to him popping in and out. He's a cute kid, real sweet, and his little presents and wholehearted attempts to cheer them up and help out are nothing short of adorably endearing

Ravage: me and my siblings are the only ones that matter.

Galvatron: And me!

Ravage: Yeah, and you. The only ones that know about this little... side project are me, Rumble and Frenzy, him, and Ratbat. Frenzy and Rumble aren't tattle tales, and Ratbat's still a bitlet, so its fine that they know. Bird Brain 1 and Bird Brain 2 dont know how to keep any secrets from Soundwave, so we can't tell them anything.

Galvatron: There's the jet's twins... I dont like them.

Ravage: Slipstream and Jetstream are fine, I used to watch them sometimes when they were bitlets.

Galvatron: Ew.

Ravage: Soundwave and Thundercracker were friends before the war. At least those two didn't inherit Starscream's voice.

Galvatron: My carrier damaged his voice box. That was before he knew that he had twins too. They still hate eachother, but at least they don't fight anymore.

Ravage: What about Specter and Stormclaw?

Galvatron: Those two are so weird! They are always together and they arent even siblings.

Ravage: Do they have to be siblings to be best friends?

Galvatron: Isn't that how it works?

Ravage: You can be best friends with people that aren't related to you.

Galvatron: But Arcee was my best friend.

Ravage: Yeah, thats how it was with you. Not with Specter and Stormclaw. Those 2 are also friends with Ambulon. I'm pretty sure he's youre age, actually.

Galvatron: Ew.

Ravage: Stop that!

Galvatron: That's everyone right?

Ravage: Do you count Wildbreak? he can't talk yet.

Galvatron: He's still a blob. Ratbat is just barely older than him.

Ravage: With that, I think thats everyone. Unless another soldier has a kid and no one knows. Not likely though. I would know.

Galvatron: Yeah yeah, Master Spy Ravage and all that.

Ravage: And you better not forget.

What are sparklings? Are they like robot babies?

YES!

They are a mostly fan concept however. Hasbro has been cowards and unfortunately haven't realized how good an idea it is.

Mostly cuz that opens the floodgates of robot pregnancy I assume.

With that said, IDW comics does touch on the concept as far as I understand, regarding protoforms where they start out like lil marshmallows, then grow into their basic robot forms.

I think that protoform is a scraplet, but I'm not terribly familiar with IDW continuity so take that with a grain of salt.

In TFA, Sari can technically count as one.

Prof. Sumdac found her as a lil protoform that somehow ended up in his lab and after touching her, she somehow absorbed his DNA and became humanlike.

We probably would have GOTTEN MORE INFO IN SEASON 4 ABOUT HER ORIGINS BUT WE DIDN'T GET SEASON 4!!

Personally, I love the idea that they start off as lil squishy marshmallow blobs, developing arms n legs later on as they develop, along with more rigid structures.

And I think sparklings could be one of the reasons why Cybertronian altforms' tend to have this conveniently open space in them that you can access. They can get carried around like how marsupial do

Also we can't forget the biggest contribution to Sparkling Ideas, the KOBD child - Wildbreak.

He had so many similar traits to the gay cat husbands that fans just took the idea he was their kid and RAN.

idk if youve seen rid15 but theres a character thats fandom hc'd as a knockout/breakdown kid (his name's wildbreak), and with knockout's alt model visible in some shots of the show.. and all the centipede talk.. its been giving me sooooo many thoughts knockout needs to fuck and breed his precious, fragile son <3 make sure the other stunticons know he's a real good daddy's boy ..

centipede look away. hrghh i'm always thinking about that dang fic... Knockout taking advantage of his son because he's bitter and lonely is sooo nasty. Wildbreak would never replace Breakdown, but it's good enough. He doesn't even have to know Knockout is his creator, it will be his ugly little secret, something only he knows as he breeds a baby into his own son, making him call him daddy to really rub it in. And hey, maybe one day Wildbreak's gonna find out the truth, maybe Knockout tells him, but it'll be too late, his forge is already full with a little inbred bastard...

Introducing KOBD ( and Wildbreak) into Thorns and Thrones AU!!

These two play the part of Rescuers to both Sir Orion and Megatronus at a turning point in their quest!

I’m thinking KOBD are the ones who come across them after this scuffle in the snow gone wrong >:]

Knockout and Breakdown are currently lone travelers on a journey off to the Dinobot Isles! The couple ventured out of the desolate, ever-increasing decay of Decepticon lands in a hurry to secure a stable future for their adorable new addition.

With the re-entering strict Autobot lands clearly not presenting itself to be a safe option to settle down, these two, with their little one in tow, have been making the lengthy journey to the coastlines.

Allies anxiously await their arrival—both in determination to seeing their old friends safe, as well as being in great need of their skills as both healers and warriors.

Trouble is stirring in the cavernous mountains that aid in the sustainment of the Isles. Those who have ventured up for recourses are returning with fewer numbers, strange wounds, and even stranger stories of the web-wielding demon supposedly responsible.

Knockout and Breakdown are off to offer their help in exchange for a place to call home—but first they have to figure out what the hell an Autobot and LORD MEGATRON-!?!? are doing all the way out HERE??

Perhaps after Optimus (ohhh that’s his name!) and Megatron (whoops! merc cover blown) get patched up, their rescuers and new friends made in the Isles will wrangle them into an adventure in the mountains—for for Primus’ sake get them some new gear!!!

Megatron has a huge soft spot for sparklings, he often spoils Soundwave's cassettes by allowing them to stay up late and eat energon goodies when ever he is watching over them. He was also caught by Starscream when he was cuddling them in his office when he was supposed to be reading over reports.

Things don't get better when more sparklings start showing up around base. Megatron often forgets to finish his work as he was too busy fawning over Knockout's and Breakdown's bitty Wildbreak and he was caught spoiling the young bitty with toys and goodies before Starscream dragged the grey mech back into his office. Poor Megatron is forbidden from seeing the sparklings until his work is finished something he wasn't too pleased about and he grumpily complained about it the whole time.

The sparklings don't mind all the extra attention as Uncle Megs always has the best toys, snacks and tells the best stories. If only Starscream would allow Uncle Megs to stay a bit longer to play, It's not fair that the seeker is always dragging him away back to his office.

Thinking about tfp Knockout or Breakdown getting hypnotized into being a good Cow and the other getting hypnotized into not worrying about how their partner has changed they just want to breed. Knockouts frame getting utterly ruined or Breakdown being told how good he is for many sparklings(calfs?) he can fit. I honestly like it either way

I adore kobd especially carrier breakdown, so this is perfect

Knock Out rubbing Breakdown's very pregnant belly, cooing and praising him on being so heavy with his Sparklings. He dotes on him, polishes him, and gives him as much praise as possible. when the Sparklings are born (one being wildbreak because I agree with that hc) he spoils him even more

On the other hand Knock Out getting sparked and being upset about his round in belly ruining his figure, while Breakdown just insists he's glowing and still so beautiful. He traces his stretch marks, gets him polish, and does whatever he needs him to. Once the sparkling is born (because knock out is smaller, he only had wildbreak) he tells him he's absolutely glowing even with the baby weight

RID15 and my responses to it are interesting because i like a lot of the characters, designs, and worldbuilding, but a nice amount of the plot and continuity stuff wants to make me chew on glass. Honestly I wish rid15 was it's own stand alone continuity rather than a sequel to tfp. The fact that it's specifically aligned but has lore changes drives me up the wall. It would have been just fine as it's own continuity, hell better! And we damn know my opinion on the copaganda aspect of it all, which I should have expected but in the third season it feeks like it equally doubles down yet twists into being against shitty laws which? ??? Fucking choose are you for them are you against them is it a listen to authority™️ but ohh nooo the authority™️ was bad how could we have knoowwwnnn situation?

I know the meta reason is because they were going with a "all Decepticons bad" route which not even tfp did Optimus gave people chances, but somewhere along the way decided to also go "but not all autobots are good" route which places us in this very odd tone tilt. No, I have not finished it yet shhhhh i will soon enough. But basically my relationship with RID15 is complicated as hell.

I think it would be adorable if Tfa Blitzwing had to babysit Wildbreak for some reason and he ends up becoming the go to babysitter because Wildbreak just thinks he's the absolute coolest ever beside his parents

KOBD aren't exactly eager to let anyone else handle their precious sparklet--he's just so teeny and frail! He has a delicate constitution! Be gentle, please!

But Blitzwing surprises them all by being surprisingly good with the little bean. He's always very careful while holding him, and Wildbreak loves to waddle along after him. Uncle Blitzy is his favorite!
