haikyuu boys and “icks”

oh you know i had to do it to em. i love these boys so much, but they’re on thin fucking ice. this is one of my favorite ones i’ve ever done.

characters: hinata, kageyama, oikawa, sugawara, yamaguchi, tsukishima, bokuto, akaashi, iwaizumi, matsukawa, hanamaki, kenma, kuroo, nishinoya, tanaka, asahi, atsumu, lev

hinata shoyo; emojis and names- “hi queen🥺👑” type of shit from this guy. it’s so disgusting. he absolutely has used 🤣 unironically- please buy him an old flip phone or something because he must be stopped. also has unironically said wifey before to his s/o- makes me physically sick.

kageyama tobio; running with a backpack on- the backpack is bumping up and down and it keeps hitting his back and he’s just hauling ass. sometimes, he’ll hold the straps and it just gets so much worse. he leans forward to counterbalance the weight of the backpack, and he trips a couple times because of it. meanwhile, his books and stuff just keep repeatedly hitting his tailbone.

oikawa toru; repeating a joke because no one laughed- this one makes me want to rip my hair out. he says it louder the second time, over emphasizing every other word and then he just looks at everyone in anticipation. gets overly cocky after the pity laughs.

sugawara koushi; crying listening to ed sheeran- he’s got his headphones in, volume all the way up, with really cheesy, radio popular ed sheeran songs blaring. he says that ‘the songs are really emotional’ and ‘his voice is moving’. once in public perfect came on and he teared up.

yamaguchi tadashi; baby talk- it’s not all the time but sometimes he’ll send “i’m sowwy 👉🥺👈” or anything with that emoji combo. it’s rare enough where you can just ignore it, but every time it happens it hits so hard that it kinda makes you consider ghosting him.

tskushima kei; begging for validation indirectly- he does something and then he’ll push up his glasses and be like “that was good, right?” in a cocky tone but won’t leave you alone until you answer. and there’s no winning either. if you compliment him, he gets over excited and if you put him down he gets angry and insecure and whiny (i.e. “what do you mean? of course i did that right, you’re just stupid).

bokuto kotaro; saying ‘this ones for you’ and then messing up- he just didn’t hit the ball as hard as he should’ve and the opposing team easily blocked it. he gets a little emo too and you have to COMFORT HIM about it. oh no💔

akaashi keiji; breathing with his mouth open- it’s only when he’s zoning out, really. he won’t be paying attention and the next thing he knows, he’s looking like a fish and he’s breathing aggressively loud. it’s that shallow huff kind of breathing, too.

iwaizumi hajime; waiting for the shower to heat up naked- IM SO SORRY BUT. awful. so embarrassing. just standing there,,,, reclining into himself,,,, awkwardly moving back and forth on his own two feet as he waits for the water to get hot. no one would actually see this one, but even just thinking about it makes me sick.

matsukawa issei; commenting ‘does she reply❤️😏” on celebrity or influencers posts- issei i’m begging someone to break your fucking phone. no, she doesn’t. no one cares, mattsun. please, i’m begging you delete social media.

hanamaki takahiro; typing ‘x’ after everything- “how are you xx?” so much worse now that youve said that, makki. he thinks it makes him charming and cute, but really he just sounds like a virgin 😞✋. overuses it when he likes someone, it’s really awful.

kenma kozume; going up the stairs on all fours- why was it necessary? are you laughing, kenma? was it more comfortable? we as people evolved for a reason. you have legs KENMA, please use them. he looks down the stairs after with a little sense of pride, makes it so much more nauseating.

kuroo tetsuro; sings the wrong lyrics too confidently- he’s off beat, he’s way too loud, and he doesn’t know the words at all. everything comes out a jumbled mess but it’s the only think you can hear. bonus: will look up lyrics and try to secretly read them so he can sing along. euthanize him.

nishinoya yu; dabs- the joke died so long ago (almost a decade ago) but that does not mean he will stop. he thinks it’s so funny and everytime he does it, your soul dies a little bit.

tanaka ryunosuke; purposefully trying to make you jealous- oh it’s so embarrassing and he’s so bad at it. comes off kinda creepy and a little douchey. you actually have to sit down with him and talk about this one because it needs to be stopped.

asahi azumane; crying on a rollercoaster- it’s about to start and he starts hitting the bar, and once the ride is already going he starts screaming about being let off. not only that, but he does it every time. why do you keep trying to ride them, asahi? just stay and watch everyone’s bags, jesus christ.

miya atsumu; asking ‘where’s my hug?’- says it way too loud, makes everyone uncomfortable. okay piss head, you would’ve gotten a hug either way but now you’ve kind of ruined it. has also probably told someone to ‘smile more’, resulted in him getting punched.

lev haiba; coming out of the fitting room to show his family his outfit- he’s surrounded by all those mirrors and he’s kind of hunched over. they make him do a little spin, and he’s stiff as a board. his mom still makes him show her even if he says the pants don’t fit.

At this point it’s his favourite song because it always gets him in the mood. But that’s only because he thinks of you when he hums it.

haikyuu!! + thanksgiving

the hq men as your boyfriend when you bring them home at thanksgiving for the first time

because thanksgiving is in a couple weeks! ik not all of us celebrate it but just pretend LOL

karasuno

sugawara koushi: marches into your kitchen wearing a little red apron and brandishing a spatula. the only thing he can really do is open the cranberry sauce and plate it, but he certainly looks very cute while doing so.

azumane asahi: eats two bowls of vanilla ice cream for dessert. is also violently lactose intolerant. you do the math.

nishinoya yuu: sprays this God-awful fruity cologne all over himself and walks into the house smelling like princess peach’s asshole. you force him to sit outside until it wears off. (spoiler alert: it doesn’t.)

hinata shouyo: frantically rakes up all the leaves in your yard into a huge pile and rolls around in it. later finds out he is in fact allergic to leaves and uses up an entire bottle of cortisone cream trying to soothe his hives. your relatives all think he has chicken pox and interact with him minimally.

kageyama tobio: comes early to help with the cooking— your mom makes him stuff the turkey and he nearly cries when he has to stick his hand in.

sawamura daichi: gets to talking with your dad and you almost have a heart attack when you see them on the couch in identical slouched positions with beers in hand-- they’re practically twins. starts calling you “pumpkin” and “peanut” after the encounter.

tanaka ryunosuke: gives a loud, tipsy toast to “the pilgrims and their funky little hats” after a couple drinks.

yamaguchi tadashi: ran a turkey trot 5k earlier in the morning with you. his entire body is sore— he can’t even sit down without tearing up so he lies face down on your living room carpet for most of the night.

tsukishima kei: literally disappears an hour into dinner and doesn’t pick up his phone. the next day you find out he left to get takeout down the street instead and just never came back.

nekoma

kozume kenma: ends up quietly sitting at the kids’ table for some unknown reason?? it’s chill though; he teaches them how to make handprint turkeys.

haiba lev: also tries to sit at the kids’ table, but they’re understandably terrified of his gigantic 6’4” self and run away when he approaches. it really hurts his feelings and he spends the rest of the night sulking.

kuroo tetsurou: announces he unironically voted for kanye and subsequently gets into a vicious political argument with your drunk uncle. 20 minutes later they’re singing a tearful rendition of “danny boy” with their arms around each other’s shoulders.

morisuke yaku: rants about how much he hates british people.

inuoka sou: pretends to be british.

shiratorizawa

ushijima wakatoshi: walks in with the stage presence of a greek god, gives your mom a huge bouquet of peonies, and thanks her for allowing him to come to dinner. she nearly faints.

tendou satori: wears a bow tie and a monocle. your mom introduces him to the family as your gay best friend— it’s not a great night for him.

semi eita: compliments your grandma’s hair cut. two hours later she’s sitting next to him with an album in hand, showing him all your embarrassing baby pictures. yes, including the naked ones.

tsutomu goshiki: drinks three hard ciders without realizing they’re alcoholic and ends up very giggly and very touchy-- and not just to you. you take him home early.

shirabu kenjirou: shows up two hours late, pretends he’s been there the entire time, and acts offended when your relatives don’t remember him.

aoba johsai

oikawa tooru: charms every single woman at the party in true oikawa fashion. at the end of the night your newly divorced aunt slips him a piece of paper with her number on it. he reassures you he isn’t going to call her-- but he also doesn’t throw it away.

iwaizumi hajime: your brother-in-law challenges him to an arm wrestling contest. iwa crushes him five times in a row without batting an eye and gives him a very respectful thumbs up afterwards.

hanamaki takahiro: makes friends with that weird third cousin who no one really knows but just kinda shows up. you see them making a secret handshake.

matsukawa issei: everyone actually loves him, but for some reason they all think he’s an accountant. has he been telling them he’s an accountant??

kunimi akira: literally just pets the cat the whole night. ignores anyone who tries to talk to him unless they’re feline.

inarizaki

miya atsumu: he ends up gossiping with all your chatty aunties. when it’s time to go home he knows about fifty years of family secrets and enough blackmail material to last him a lifetime. scared? you should be.

miya osamu: truly God’s gift to thanksgiving, everything suga wishes he could be. owns a “kiss the cook” apron (that he bought for himself) and makes five types of boujee hors d'oeuvres. every single relative at the dinner tells you to marry him.

kita shinsuke: helps you mash the potatoes. you try to not ogle his biceps while he does so, but it’s very, very difficult. wipe that drool from the corner of your mouth-- it’s embarrassing.

suna rintarou: arrives wearing all black designer clothing, a luxury watch, and a haughty expression-- the perfect trophy boyfriend. your cousin says she thinks she saw him on a calvin klein ad last week. he tells her it was actually louis vuitton.

fukurodani

akaashi keiji: handwrites all the name cards in beautiful calligraphy the day before and brings a big bundle of dahlias and baby’s breath for floral centerpieces-- you’re pretty sure your mom would rather have him as a daughter instead.

bokuto koutarou: gets involved in the thanksgiving football game with your male cousins. he scores 75% of his team’s points and by the end of it they’re chanting his name and carrying him around the field; you have to deal with god-complex bokuto for the next week and a half.

konoha akinori: your dog will not stop humping his leg. he tries to stop it but there’s really no dignified way to do that, so he just suffers in silence.

date tech

futakuchi kenji: pulls you into the cleaning supply closet while everyone else is going for seconds. your little cousin comes in looking for paper towels and catches the two of you in a compromising position-- oh, well. it’s about time someone gave that kid the talk, anyways.

koganegawa kanji: accidentally clogs the toilet and has a near panic attack trying to unclog it before it overflows.

aone takanobu: surprisingly good at chess and plays several games with your great uncle while he talks about the war

other

terushima yuuji: after dessert he proudly ties a cherry stem in a knot with his tongue, hoping it’ll impress the table. it does not.

sakusa kiyoomi: doesn’t show up. i’m sorry, but let’s be real-- did you ever really expect him to?

little things i think they’d do with you

a/n: this is pure chaos and was built off of a single intrusive thought that has extended into something bigger (yeah it was the one about screaming HAGASH) i love all of these. and yes, one of tadashis was inspired off of strawberry mentos !!

also this is my first time making one of these and im not too confident with it so if you have any feed-back for the kitchen, let me know !!

KARASUNO

─ kōshi sugawara

◟ gives up his seat on the bus for you <3

◟ lets you ramble on for hours. you’re rambling and sometimes you hesitate because you’re scared you’re talking too much, but he just smiles at you and tells you “go on, im listening.”

◟ plays the tambourine for you during karaoke, occasionally joining in to sing the lyrics with you

◟ buys you lunch when you don’t have one

( bonus: if you forgot yours, he’ll share his with you. he does not care if you say no, hes sharing and thats it. he’d also bring you lunch if you were in a different club/place as him, if possible )

─ asahi azumane

◟ he !!! he plays with your hair when you get anxious !!!

◟ also absent-mindedly fiddles with your hand/fingers :,)

◟ he likes to compare hand sizes with you

◟ lets you sleep on his shoulder on the bus !!

( bonus: one time, after practice, he and you sat beside eachother on the bus. you were both exhausted, and before you knew it, your head was on his shoulder, and his head was atop of yours. sugawara took a photo of it and teased asahi for it HAHA asahi still asked for it and made it his background on his phone )

◟ sometimes you catch him staring at you and he just quietly mutters, “can i kiss you?”

◟ sometimes the both of you wake up at dawn just to scream at the sunrise. when he’s frustrated and doesnt know what to do or how to express it, he just goes to his roof top and just... screams. the both of you thought of it as therapeutic and honestly, it felt rejuvenating

◟ the type to go on 7-eleven runs at 1am to get slushies and go on spontaneous road trips to the city with you

◟ also the type to run over to your house when its pouring rain and you’re sad. he’ll stand outside and wait for you to unlock the door for him.

( bonus: one time he and you got into an argument-- it was over something dumb, and it spiraled out of control. to apologize to you, he ran over to your house, held a boom-box up, and started playing stupid romance music whilst screaming “im sorry” and, “i love you” at the top of his lungs. you ended up forgiving him LMAOIASU )

◟ makes you laugh at 2:30 in the morning because you were feeling anxious </3

◟ gets really annoyed when he has to untangle his headphones so he has you untangle them for him

he’s baffled by how easily you disentangle them. appreciates it way more than he should, its gotten to the point where he just wordlessly hands them to you and waits HAGJHSA

hes so awkward about it sometimes :(( he tries to reach for your hand, hesitates, goes for it again......

◟ looking at you with suppressed laughter when hearing a reference to a private joke. one of you always ends up busting out with laughter whilst others remain confused as to what was so funny

◟ watches movies with you, even if he doesn't like them

◟ plays games with you COMPETITIVELY. sometimes he shoves you to get an advantage when hes losing like the cheater he is

◟ has playful arguments with you about board game rules. he often says that you “rigged the game” because you were winning, or vice versa.

you always accuse him back, though, given he has tried to make you fail numerous times

◟ he takes you on late night drives all of the time. sometimes, the two of you will park on the side of the road, headlights on and the radio playing your favorite song. he’ll drag you out of the car and dances with you, albeit sloppily, but the both of you are laughing and having fun :,)

◟ makes you homemade breakfast, lunch, or dinner

◟ he slow dances with you in the kitchen when its way too early in the morning. you’re both just lazily swaying back and forth, but it doesnt make it any less special

sk8 headcanons that i adore

since sk8 the infinity is coming to an end soon (which i’m really upset about because it’s one of my current anime obsessions along with hetalia) i thought it would be nice to share some of my personal favourite headcanons (you guys should totally comment or reblog this with some of yours because i would love to read them!!)

top student reki!! i am in love with the idea of reki being really at school and getting great grades (i honestly just love super smart!reki in general)

langa is trilingual and he speaks japanese, english and french

an add on to that is that instead of confessing things to reki in english, he does it in french instead, to makes sure reki really doesn’t understand

art major reki in university bc that’s always v fun

cherry was the one who did joe’s tattoo or at least he was there for it (i’ve seen so many matchablossom things surrounding this and i love them)

reki and miya, best bros (as in brothers) idk i really like the sibling dynamic they got going on and i like thinking about reki telling miya he’s the younger brother he never had (or the other way around)

LANGA’S HAIR GETS BRAIDED BY THE KYAN SIBLINGS!! when langa visits reki’s, reki’s younger siblings like to play with langa’s hair (so does reki)

REKI FRECKLES!! (RECKLES)

also reki knows how to braid. he used to help his mum braid his sister’s hair because she was busy with the other ones and reki wanted to help

langa gets jealous but he doesn’t actually know he’s feeling jealous

reki and langa, joe, cherry or shadow (or sometimes all of them) sometimes pick miya up from school and everyone notices miya’s “cool older friends” (this totally boosts reki’s self esteem and a bunch of kids totally crush on langa)

when reki meets ms. hasegawa as langa’s boyfriend she shows off all of his baby photos

Sk8 Headcanons: Parents Edition!

(For character's parents we haven't seen, also may contain triggering topics such as corporal punishment/physical abuse, divorce, mental abuse, abandonment, etc.)

Joe: His mom is very chill and relaxed, she had him right when she graduated highschool and things started out kind of rough with her and Kojiro's dad, but she learned how to parent eventually. His dad is strict, like super super strict, his parents were strict on him as a kid so he was strict on Kojiro. He was the same age as Kojiro's mom when Kojiro was born and struggled heavily to help his girlfriend raise a baby. Like other headcanons, Kojiro's mom is Italian and his dad is Okinawan/Japanese, and his parents met when his mom moved to Okinawa in highschool.

Cherry: His mom is the most sweetest, nurturing, and responsible. She coddled and babied Kaoru a lot, he was very sheltered and oblivious to a lot of things because of her (which may be the reason why he believed in Santa for so long, check his trivia in the fandom wiki page). Kaoru wasn't raised by his biological father, his biological father divorced with his mom when Kaoru was 3 so he doesn't have much memory of him. Kaoru's step-father is hella strict but it's because he cares for him so much, but because of his strictness, he's learned how to be organized and calculated from him.

Shadow: His mom was super strict and used corporal punishment on him a lot, since he most likely got in so much trouble when he was younger, he fears the belt, slipper, and stick switch. Hiromi was very attached to his dad because he fears his mom, tending to bond better with him because he used words instead of action for punishment. Hiromi feared his mom so much that when his dad divorced his mom, he only wanted to live with his dad until he grew up and moved far from his mom.

Adam: His mom died when he was born, so he never got to meet her at all. He always likes to think she was sweet and yelled a bit less than his aunts. Ainosuke's dad disciplined him hard on anything and everything that he didn't see fit. He didn't often get to have good memories with him because he'd be away on business so often that he was practically raised by his aunts, who, we all know how strict and abusive they are. Ainosuke's dad probably recently died within the last 5 years and that's why his aunts expect so much of him as the man of the Shindo household.

Tadashi: His mom left when he was 7, the only memory he has of his mom is her comforting him after he had a nightmare, her singing a sweet lullaby to him. He remembers that lullaby every time he has a nightmare and he wonders where she is today. He grew up learning a lot from his dad as a servant, but the thing is that he only knew his dad inside of a working environment. Tadashi doesn't really know his dad on a personal level, what he likes, what he was like when he was little, his dad was often way to tired to properly parent.

i actually played the violin in middle school so i tried to expand a little more on this.. enjoy!

you’re a hard worker just like him so he knows how important this is to you

playing an instrument and being in an ensemble is similar to playing on a sports team in that you individually have to do your part in order for the group to succeed

he makes sure that you’re fully confident in your ability to play new and more difficult songs

he doesn’t like seeing you struggle or be so hard on yourself but he can only speak for himself and knows how it goes

he knows that you’ll always come around when you’re ready

“why, hello there. how’s my s/o?” he answered with his familiar greeting.

you didn’t even answer his question, getting straight to your point. “toru, can you come over soon?”

he laughed lightly at the urgency of the statement. “hold on, sweetheart. maybe we should go on a date first.”

your silence was seemingly unamused by his joke. “i’m being serious, babe. i need to show you something so can you please come?”

“you know i just like playing with you, babe. of course. we’re cooling down at practice now and then i’ll be there in 15.”

“yay! i’ll see you then.”

he let himself into your apartment, like always, and proceeded to where he knew you would be.

he knocked on the door frame of your bedroom. “is there a beethoven that lives here?”

you turned around, shaking your head as you strode over to greet him with a hug and kiss.

“hey, sweetie. sorry i’m a little sweaty.”

“it’s okay. but you know that beethoven didn’t play the violin, right?”

he scoffs, feigning offense. “can you just humor me? i try really hard with the music references, you know.”

“i know, toru. i love when you do,” you reply, giving him another hug. you then pulled away to get back to what you originally called him over for.

“okay. are you ready?”

“yep. let’s hear it, baby,” he replied, taking a seat at your desk.

you began playing, facing away from him and towards the window. you liked to play in front of the window in your bedroom as you always liked to say that the natural lighting provided a more peaceful setting. seeing the silhouette of your figure while you played was his favorite part.

you’ve played for him so many times that he developed a sense for when the music was about to end, much to your surprise. with this, he always claps early so that you’re smiling for him when you’re finished.

“yes, that’s my baby right there!” he reacts as he gets up from his seat, continuing to clap until he has you in his arms again, giving you a few praising kisses.

when he pulls away, he keeps his hands caressed over your shoulders.

“is this why i haven’t seen you lately, hmm? you’ve been practicing real hard? aww,” he coos, hugging you tightly after you nod.

“well, it looks like all that hard work was worth it,” he remarks. “but let’s go do something now because i have missed you so much.”

he’s very honored that his s/o is someone so talented like you

he likes watching you play the violin as much as you like watching him play volleyball

even if it’s just watching you tune the instrument or play some scales

like you just watching him block or serve a ball

there are times though when he feels you’re not getting adequate rest because you’re practicing so hard

he hadn’t seen you much at all that week. he tapped on your contact in his phone, hoping that you’d make time to spend with him, given that it was friday night.

“oh, perfect timing,” you spoke immediately when you answered. “i was just about to call you.”

“really?” kuroo smirked. “well, that’s good to hear. i guess i just have a sixth sense, babe.”

“can you come to the practice room, like, now?”

“practice-- baby, i thought you were at home. why are you there now?”

“i just wanted to work on this piece a little longer and then i guess time slipped away from me. so can you please come over here now, please?”

you had repeated please twice so he knew that it was serious. he chuckled at your cute tenacity.

“of course, babe. be there soon.”

“oh, good. you’re here!” you remarked as he entered the smaller room. you quickly strode over to him and grabbed his hand, pulling him over to where you were working. he looked around to see sheet music everywhere along with several empty coffee cups and some food wrappers, as well.

“gosh, babe. it’s like you live here,” he joked. “i hope you’re not sleeping in here too. it doesn’t look very comfortable.”

“i may have dozed off a few times in here,” you answered candidly as you grabbed your violin and bow and fixed the sheet music on the stand.

“okay. ready?”

he nodded and you proceeded to play. there was something about how you looked when you played. you were so focused and looked like you could actually feel the music as you played it. that effect spread to others because he could feel it in every inch of his body. it’s a familiar feeling that he’s so lucky that you would share something like this with him.

when you were finished playing, he found himself stumbling over his words.

“wow, beautiful. that was...beautiful!” he praised, walking closer to you.

you laughed at his goofy compliment and thanked him before laying your instrument back in its case.

“but why didn’t you just play it at your apartment?”

“i felt like i wouldn’t be able to since i’ve been grinding away at it here. i’m sorry.”

“no, kitten. you don’t have to be sorry,” he replied, wrapping his arm around you. “and i know you’ve been working hard but you could play it well anywhere.”

you nodded gratefully and leaned in to give your pretty boyfriend a kiss, realizing that you hadn’t greeted him properly when he arrived.

“now, let’s go get you some real dinner,” he proposed as he took your violin case in one hand and yours in the other.

he’s naturally very curious about your life as a musician

it’s nice energy to have around because at one point, you felt embarrassed when having to carry around your huge case with your instrument inside

but he didn’t care at all and didn’t want your talent to go unnoticed or without appreciation

he’s your biggest (and cutest) supporter out there

reciprocity is an emphasized aspect of your relationship and he tries to be as uplifting as you are for him with volleyball

you had been frustrated since you received the latest sheet music for your orchestra group. it was by far the most difficult piece that you had to learn. it seemed like you had an issue at almost every measure and had yet to master vibrato.

it was plaguing your mind to get it right and when you weren’t playing, you were thinking about how to overcome this block.

your boyfriend had seen you progress into obsession with perfecting the playing of this song. on one hand, he understood it because it was your sense of pride that pushed you to want to become better. at one point, however, you were so upset that you wanted to quit and that’s when he felt he had to step in.

“this is so stupid,” you huffed, rubbing your hands over your eyes as angry tears threatened to spill over.

“no. it’s not,” he disagreed. “come here, peaches.”

he held and comforted you over the woes of not being good enough.

“i know you can do this but i think you may be stressing yourself out too much over it. it’s worth the effort but not breaking down your entire emotional state.”

from then on he was diligent enough to try to help you take breaks when you needed or to give you space when you wanted it.

“tadashi,” you addressed your boyfriend one day over the phone. “i would like for you to come over so i can show you something.”

“sure, babe! i’ll come right now,” he replied. “does this have anything to do with music?”

“i’m not telling you,” you answered in a sing-song voice. “you’ll just have to see.”

“hey, cutie,” he greeted as he entered your apartment and found you in the living area with your violin out and everything. he walked over towards you as you returned the greeting, where he gave you a sweet kiss.

“so it looks like i was right?”

“yeah. you were,” you affirmed. “what else would it be though, honestly?”

“i don’t know. maybe you just wanted to spend a little time with little ole’ me,” he joked while wrapping his arms around you, giving you a good squeeze.

“that could’ve also been part of it,” you chuckled. “thanks for coming anyway.”

“of course, my pretty peaches,” he replies, booping your nose. “you call and i am there.”

you respond with a smile and another kiss before instructing him to sit down on the couch. you fiddle with your sheet music and stand before turning towards him again.

“this is still very much a work in progress but i think i’ve finally gotten somewhere with this one.”

he nods with a cute grin and you begin playing. he recognizes it, after several measures, as the piece that was giving you so much trouble. he smiled at how you looked much more confident in your playing and if you made a mistake, he couldn’t tell. even though he didn’t personally know too much about music, he could relate with volleyball. it’s that satisfying feeling of getting better at something that you’ve been working so hard on and that work finally shows.

he kinda got lost in the music that he didn’t realize that you were finished and he hadn’t said anything yet.

“like i said, it’s a still a little rusty but that’s the best play through i think i’ve done so far.”

“that was rusty?” he said incredulously. “i thought it was amazing, babe!”

you thanked him and he got up from his seat to give you some more love.

“aww, come here,” he beckoned, wrapping you up in his arms again and pressing kisses to the side of your head.

“i am so proud of you, peaches. i love you so much.”

you love him too and you’re so happy that you have such a sweet and supportive person by your side.

haikyuu boys shower habits

idk this is such a niche idea idek if anyone else will like it but i rly enjoy this for some reason and haven’t seen it before soooo

characters: hinata, kageyama, oikawa, suga, bokuto, yamaguchi, akaashi, kenma, kuroo, nishinoya, atsumu, tsukishima

hinata shoyo

showers last like seven minutes and he absolutely uses head and shoulders 2 in 1. he absolutely bought way overpriced body wash gel because it said “MADE FOR ATHLETES” or some dumb bullshit and he figured he had to buy it. his mom has to wash his towels otherwise he will use the same one for months

kageyama tobio

on the topic of towels, kageyama is absolutely nick in this. he doesn’t use conditioner and i wouldn't put it above him to wash his hair with a bar of soap. for someone who constantly works out, he doesn’t shower nearly as much as he should and his soap is like sandalwood scented and he definitely hates it.

oikawa toru

has more shower products than anyone else. he tried “hair chutney” at one point and strongly disliked it. he has pomegranate body wash, definitely owns loofahs. shower time is definitely determined by the music he plays. absolutely would scream sing taylor swift and perform in his shower and then cry when he gets soap in his eyes.

sugawara koshi

he will shave his legs like once a month because he likes how it makes his sheets feel when he’s sleeping. he uses that maui moisture shampoo and conditioner i always see on tiktok or at ross. does everything he can to make sure his hair stays soft. he does use one of the old spice body gels lmao

bokuto kotaro

poor baby wants to smell “manly” but it’s too strong. he absolutely layers ax body wash. uses really expensive shampoo and hair products (duh) but no matter what they smell all youre gonna get from him is middle school locker room mixed with a little bit of cinnamon. has fallen in the shower from jamming too hard multiple times

yamaguchi tadashi

uses some coconut body wash type shit (me too yams). only conditions his hair two or three times a week- so it’s nice and soft. smells sweet, kinda like fruit, but he uses old spice deodorant (me too yams 2.0) and it ties it all together. plays VERY aggressive music like MSI and shit

akaashi keiji

his showers are typically lukewarm, but at the beginning he’ll start it off really hot and at the end he turns the water really cold to wash his face. he bought a bar of soap from some sweet old lady at the farmers market, and it smells like the forest (he believes in supporting small businesses‼️).

kenma kozume

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?):

Oh, most definitely. Tadashi is a very family-oriented man. Always has been, always will be. So it’s no surprise that he looks forward to the day he can start his own little branch of the Hamada family tree. We’ve already seen how he is with Hiro: He’s protective, he’s encouraging, he’s inspiring, he’s good at getting him to do things he may not want to do even if it’s for his own benefit -- imagine what wonders he could do if those traits were applied to a little mini-him or mini-you or mini-you-both!

Honestly, the subject goes more or less unspoken between you two because it’s kind of a given that Tadashi wants kids. You two would be taking a walk in the park or going to the mall and the moment a stroller passes by, he’s barely playing off how much he’s trying to crane his neck to gaze upon the chubby wonder resting inside. You can see the disappointment in his eyes when he fails. Some days when you’re just at the Lucky Cat trying to get some homework done, you’ll glance up and see him at a table with a baby at it, speaking all kinds of sweet words to them. You’ve seen his favorites playlist on Youtube -- it has a decade-old commercial for Legal Zoom on it. When you questioned why it was there in the first place, you had to witness your adoring boyfriend sheepishly admit that the baby in it was just too cute. And also he liked the pale purple walls and thought it’d make for good inspiration.

“Good inspiration for . . .?” you led, knowing exactly where it was headed. You watched at Tadashi’s eyes wandered and his cheeks and ears reddened.

“For . . . a nursery . . .” he responded. It was a mumble, but you heard everything you needed to know loud and clear.

Well, not everything, of course: You asked him what exactly he envisioned for the future.

He admitted he wasn’t exactly particular about whether he wanted a boy or a girl, let alone first or second -- he just knew he would like at least two children so neither one would be lonely. Corny and cheesy as it was, he would’ve preferred to live somewhere a little closer to the suburbs (“Hey, at least I don’t expect a white picket fence!” he justified). His reasoning being that he’d like a nice, quiet area in which many parks and libraries and schools can be accessible, and so any children of yours have room to grow. However, given the structure of the area, he knew that this was going to be a tough call for a multitude of reasons.

Bottom line, though, he’d be okay with living in the city if it meant he could still provide for you and your hypothetical kids the best he could. He just wants to make sure everyone is happy and healthy. But for now, he’s content with it just being the two of you . . . Emphasis on “for now.”

C = Cuddles (How do they cuddle?):

Usually with a prayer that Hiro doesn’t barge in. No, seriously: That bedroom of theirs offers only the most courteous of privacies by way of a tasteful but otherwise unpersuasive shoji. You want Hiro to see you guys trying to get cozy about as much as Hiro does -- which is not at all, given how he pretends to throw up every time he’s walked in on you two. And how he’s voiced his dislike of it.

Given that Tadashi is ever the caring brother and roommate, he can only get away with so many dry, “You don’t have to be here”s before he just feels bad about it. As a result, the two of you have actually had to create a cuddling schedule built with Hiro’s course times, your availability, and Tadashi’s availability in mind. And God forbid Hiro ever finds out about that schedule because all he needs is one more reason to call the both of you Ultra Nerds.

Worse-case scenario, you two get booted out and have to make do with the couch in the garage, cramped as it is. But you don’t mind: Usually, the reason you two are cuddling is because you’re so butt-tired from coursework that you need to relax and zonk out for a couple hours. Besides, for as lanky and more muscle-based as a guy like Tadashi is, his arm wrapped around you is unfairly warm and comforting. You’re bound to be conked out before you can even utter a complaint, or at the very least you’re way too relaxed to register the fact that you’re both awkwardly strewn about the furniture.

So if it had to be put in a different way (and less about worrying somebody might barge in), you supposed you could describe your cuddling as being the snug equivalent to how a college student eats, sleeps, or lives altogether: You both take what you can get when you can get it and try to enjoy it before it’s time to go to your next “adult obligation.”

S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?):

Tadashi is a pretty optimistic person so it’s actually hard to get him completely down, let alone long enough for him to actually require a pick-me-up bigger than a brief inner pep talk. Normally all he needs to do is have a quiet moment to himself, some time to cool down, maybe remind himself that things can and will get better. But in the odd moment where this isn’t enough, Tadashi will often turn to his interests.

However, don’t assume this means he’ll hunker down in his lab and focus on one of his projects: He’s long since learned that it’s best to not robotically engineer with sad or frustrated -- way too many power outages have occurred from that.

Instead, he turns to his other hobbies: Living with Aunt Cass means he’s been knowing how to bake for years, albeit the baked fruits of his labors don’t always come out prettily; depending on how free his schedule is (read: not very at all anymore), he may go find a location to go surfing; or he goes to a park to get, like, a cart crepe. Usually being outside in a sunny place (with plenty of puppies and babies around) zaps him back to normal.

Which leaves him with plenty of time to figure out how to cheer you up!

Given his nature, Tadashi has become a wiz at cheering others up. He’s just got this nearly contagious brightness about him. And even if you don’t find yourself as readily bright as he, don’t worry: He’s not afraid to pull old tried-and-trues on you. Being an older brother/almost fatherly figure has allowed him the perfect position to perfect his trade: That is, the art of being goofy for the sake of cheering up his loved ones. He will easily pick you up and jump around with you, hollering about how he’s going to “turn that frown upside-down” -- by actually holding you upside-down.

Not your cup of tea? Then be prepared to witness the most tragic case of Dad Dancing ever recorded in a man below the age of 30, complete with cheesy disco music. You will be forced to witness his arms flailing, head bopping, mouth performing what you had once heard being referred to as “The White Man’s Overbite”. You will beg that he stop “for the love of Mochi.” You will try to have your pleas be heard over the speaker blaring “Got to Be Real” by Cheryl Lynn, only to be further drowned out by your boyfriend’s tone-deaf singing.

But the man will not stop: He must dance in your honor.

And once you’re done wiping away the tears left from cackling, he’ll treat you to some froyo.

If this still doesn’t work, there’s the slightest chance he might pull out the big guns: Tickling. It’s reserved strictly as a worst-case scenario, but he’s going to dance until his feet bleed if he can help it before he has to do that again. The last time he resorted to tickling a little too eagerly, it . . . didn’t end well.

W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?):

When? A balmy evening in May. How? With a bit of difficulty. Mind you, Tadashi is a generally organized man on the average day. But on the day he proposes to you – heck, the days leading up to it? He’s a bit of a mess. And it’s in no small part due to how incredibly involved his friends and family had tried to be the entire time.

Make no mistake, he’s very glad that he has such supportive loved ones. However, he found himself constantly fighting off a heart attack every time one of them treaded the line a little too closely for his comfort. (Sure, there’s little suspicion in Honey gushing over wedding magazines with you or Aunt Cass asking you to sample a “brand new wedding cake flavor” she was planning to use for some pastries, but Wasabi asking about your ring size and Fred talking about how kaiju costumes were better than tuxes until GoGo had to slam him down really wasn’t exactly inconspicuous.)

Hiro might’ve been the closest thing to normal throughout it all, much to the elder Hamada brother’s surprise. But even then, he was more of less gesturing for Tadashi to just go ahead and pop the question – albeit, at the most inopportune times in the latter’s honest opinion.

“I can’t propose to my girlfriend in the campus library!” Tadashi rejected Monday.

“There’s nothing romantic about being in the middle of a pizzeria and going, ‘Hey, will you marry me?’” he scoffed on Wednesday.

“Hiro, if you ever propose to somebody in front of a mall fountain, then I’ve failed you,” came his dry response Saturday. He knew his younger brother meant no harm by applying the lightest of pressures; he just wanted all the anxieties over with! But this was you Tadashi was proposing to: You deserved only the best. Only the most heartfelt . . . Which was why, in the end, the where of it all was the Lucky Cat Café. Was it the fanciest establishment he could have done it in? Not really. Thankfully, Aunt Cass was all too eager to oblige his request to have the café to yourselves one evening; it allowed him to properly decorate your favorite table with a tablecloth and a bouquet of your favorite flowers. It was admittedly a tad cheesy, but you certainly didn’t mind it.

But this was where Tadashi had grown up. It was where his family – the core of his being – was, where his friends congregated to relax. This was his home in so many ways and if he was to invite you into his family, he wanted it to be done here. Even if it meant Aunt Cass and Hiro were not too discreetly peeking out from the back. Or that the entire time Tadashi was trying to recite his proposal speech, he kept getting distracted by your friends, whose faces were mashed against a window behind you, waiting to bear witness to this milestone.

Suffice to say, it was a very group-oriented situation. But neither you nor Tadashi would have had anything less.

you lean forward, reaching towards his head and tugging the headphones down around his neck

and when he looks up (he does within an instant), you shoot him a sly smile

several students around you gasp

and he rolls his eyes, standing up and heading for the exit of the classroom

the shock in the classroom — that you’re still ALIVE — is clear

your friend from before gapes

the nickname doesn’t really bother you

after all, it’s just a reminder of your determination and refusal to give up

some people feel bad for tsukishima, constantly being bothered by you for weeks on end

others admire your stubbornness

and one group of people you can always count on supporting you are the karasuno volleyball club <3

ever since you started showing up to their practices

and all their practice matches and official games too

glaring at you, he pulls his headphones off his head and puts them on yours

a couple hours later, you pull into the parking lot of nekoma

the friend groups pair off, and kuroo makes a beeline for tsukki, only to catch sight of you

“hey four-eyes— who’s this?”

tsukki glances down at you, to which you shoot him a sugary smile

“dunno,” he says, and walks off

you wave to kuroo with a sunny grin

“i’m y/n~! i’m tsukki’s personal assistant and future wife~”

his eyebrows rise, and with a quick bow, you bounce after the blonde

once the group is all in the gym, practice jerseys are handed out and you help yachi and shimizu prepare the water and towels

you’re about to make a beeline for tsukki, when someone calling your name stops you

“y/n! wanna get me some water?” kuroo calls

you only blink for a moment before hopping to it, darting across the gym

for the rest of the day, kuroo is constantly calling for you—

and by the time the several hours is over, you haven’t gotten to speak to tsukki once 🥺 snnff :(

when you finally get a free moment, you look around for him, but he’s nowhere to be found

and then !!!! turns out nekoma paid for bbq for everyone 🤩🤩 cats are so generous

and somehow??? you find yourself surrounded by nekoma players???

“here y/n, want some of my bbq?”

“do you want any fruit?? i have some!!”

“you were so helpful today!! how’d you stay so energetic the whole time??”

you flash a smile, ready to charm the shit out of them, when a voice interrupts:

"hey, personal assistant.”

your eyes light up, bc you’d recognize that salty ass voice anywhere!!!

the guys around you part to reveal—

“tsukki!!!” you squeal, maybe a little too excitedly

“aren’t you supposed to be assisting me?? get me some food.”

you shove your plate into the free hand of one of the nekoma players (his name was... liam? lief... lev?) and dart to get tsukki something to eat

when you hand it to him, you flash him your most dazzling smile

“eat up! you worked hard today~”

he eyes you silently before digging in, and you smile absentmindedly while watching him

“why are you staring at me like that?”

“because i like you,” you respond without hesitation

he averts his eyes, but doesn’t say anything mean

your stomach flips a little

i’m coming for you, tsukishima kei.

on the ride home, you’re once again sitting next to him, and he gives up his headphones without a fight this time

you’re so tired from running around helping kuroo all day that you find your eyelids getting heavy as tsukki’s music plays in your ears

you try to subtly lean on his shoulder but he pokes you away

you glare at him, pouting, but settle for leaning against the headrest

and then, you’re drifting off

and you’re having a strange dream

a pleasant dream, with fuzzy corners and honey-colored light streaming across the scene, but still strange

in this dream, he’s kissing you

it’s not like you haven’t had dreams like this before, it’s just that this one feels so much more vivid

and yet blurry at the same time

even when the dream ends and you blink back into consciousness you can still distinctly feel his lips against yours

his glasses brushing against your cheek

his fingers interlacing with your hair

a warm smile curls up your lips as you grasp lingering wisps of the dream, when—

“you’re drooling.”

your eyes snap open and you jolt up, furiously wiping the side of your mouth

“am not!!”

tsukishima blinks uninterestedly from the empty bus aisle, arms crossed

“dreaming about something vulgar?”

you grin, resting your chin on your palm

“would you like to hear ab—?”

he’s just “nope,” and turns towards the exit

hopping out of the seat, you follow him

“it was such a nice dream,” you sigh

“must’ve been, if you were drooling that much.”

and then you notice something

everyone else is already gone from the bus

“wait a minute... did you wait for me?”

you hear a scoff

the next day, it’s practice as usual at the karasuno gym

and all the vbc members are like 👁️ whomst?

and when you finally arrive (right along behind tsukki)

he yells out your name

and holds out a bouquet of flowers <3 how cute

“y/n, um— i, i know you don’t know me but i’ve liked you since the orientation ceremony!!! i think you’re really pretty and cute and smart—”

cue a quiet scoff from tsukki, “if she’s his definition of smart, then how dumb is he?”

cue sugawara jabbing his side (sugamama is protective of his child y/n)

“—and i know you like tsukishima, but i hope you’ll give me a chance!! i can make you happier than him!!”

at this point, everyone in the gym is watching like 👁️ oh?? TEA??

and is that... is that an aura of raging irritation coming from tsukishima??

you open your mouth to politely reject the guy, when

literally out of nowhere tsukki just a p p e a r s

“hey, idiot. aren’t you supposed to be my personal assistant?? go set out the volleyballs instead of flirting,”

you dip your head and smile apologetically at the guy before heading towards the store room

and after that, you notice tsukki is a bit harsher, a bit more off his game, a little more easily irritated than usual

during a free moment, you nudge tanaka

“doesn’t he seem like he’s in a bad mood??”

zero braincell tanaka is like “??? isn’t he always like that??”

“no... something is definitely off today...”

what . could it be . i wonder .

every time you try to do your usual “tsukki~!!” he just turns away and ignores you

doesn’t sound too out of the ordinary, but you can just tell something is wrong

you still have no idea why he’s acting like this by the time practice ends

and when you go to the locker room to find him (so y’all can walk home together), he’s already gone :(

so, a little more droopy than usual, you head out

only to be surprised by a voice when you step outside

“took you long enough,”

you whip around to see tsukki leaning against the wall with crossed arms

he clicks his tongue and then sets off

and when you don’t immediately follow him, he glances over his shoulder

“are you coming or not?”

it’s just one sentence, and it doesn’t really mean anything

but hearing the words makes something incredibly warm bloom in your chest

you grin

“of course i am,”

that feeling lasts well into the next morning, but is replaced by a nauseating knot in your stomach when you arrive at school

because everyone’s whispering about one thing:

“tsukishima got called to the principal’s office!!!”

“whaaat ! why??”

“i heard he was caught with the answers for the upcoming exam!!”

your stomach . clenches

and before anybody can say another word, you’re sweeping out the door and down the hall

and in less than 30 seconds, you’re slamming open the door to the principal’s office

the principal and tsukki both look up, equally shocked at your sudden appearance

“y/n, what—”

you ignore him for the first time in your life

“sir, i need to tell you something.”

the principal is just like “... ?? can it wait??”

“no, it can’t.” you take several steps forward “the test answers, they—”

“y/n, don’t—”

you ignore him for the second time in your life again

“they’re mine,”

the principal blinks

“then why was tsukishima found holding them before class??”

“yesterday, they must’ve fallen out of my backpack. he probably picked them up without knowing what they were, so please don’t punish him,” you bow. “punish me instead,”

yea, you’re suspended for two weeks

and ofc there’ll be a mark on your record

plus you’re automatically given a fail for the upcoming exam so you’ll have to retake it later oof....

but as much as all that sucks, you don’t regret it bc you’d rather take the fall than let tsukki be wrongly accused and suffer for it

you hop up and open your bedroom door to come face to face with the one. the only. tsukishima kei

“tsukki??? what are you doing here??” you grin “are you here because you’re worr—”

“no,” he cuts you off “i’m here to deliver your homework,”

“you could’ve given it to my sister, y’know,” you tease. “why’d you come all the way to my bedroom?? you missed me, hm?”

he doesn’t answer, instead surveying the room before sitting down on the edge of your bed

you blink, surprised he didn’t comeback with a cold retort

“tsukki?” you ask quietly, sliding into your desk chair

after a moment of silence, he fixes you with a stoic gaze

“why’d you lie?”

“because... because i couldn’t let you take the blame for that. i don’t know what happened, but i know you weren’t cheating. i know it.”

“neither were you. what’s the difference?”

you press your lips together in a frustrated pout

“the difference is that it’s you!!! i’m mediocre. i’m not outstanding. i’ll go to an average college either way, and it’ll be fine. but you..! you’re so smart!! and talented!!! you could do anything you want!!! you could get into an elite college!! the last thing you need is for some stupid misunderstanding to sully your transcript—”

“y/n—” he tries to cut in, but you bulldoze right over him

“— and i know you probably think what i did was useless and unhelpful, but i don’t care!!! i don’t care about a mark on my transcript, or being suspended, or failing all my exams, or even being expelled—”

“— but i absolutely refuse to let that happen to you!! you’re too special for—”

this time, it’s not him speaking that interrupts you

this time, it’s him kissing you

you nearly combust on the spot

he’s leaning over you, with one hand on the chair’s armrest and the other steadying your head with his fingertips

your stomach does several full somersaults

and then, all too quickly, he pulls away and returns to his spot on your bed

you stare, eyes wide as saucers, mouth slightly agape

“w— what was— why did—”

“you wouldn’t stop talking,” he mutters, eyes focused a little too hard on the wall

for a moment, you’re too shocked to move

and then your 🥰tsukki🥰 mode activates

and you just fuckin LUNGE at him

“y/n??? what—!”

kisses!!! kisses on his cheeks!! his nose!!! his forehead!!!

and shockingly he doesn’t?? push you off??

me heart just skipped a beat wjdkfjs

he’s just like “y/n, you’re fogging up my glasses, please stop,”

“i refuse!!!! i’ve been waiting months to do this!!!!!”

once he manages to de-suction you from him, you fix him with doe eyes and a cheeky grin

“hey, tsukki??”

“.. what?”

“i like you,”

he blinks

adjusts his glasses

“make sure to finish that homework. i’m bringing tomorrow’s homework too,”

as he’s leaving, you hope he can feel your glowing smile on his back

the next day, you get a message from the school letting you know that your suspension and other punishments have been retracted

as the real culprit of the cheating was found

an unannounced locker-search discovered several exam cheatsheets almost exactly like the one tsukki found in the locker of a student, and the school realized their mistake <3 how nice of them

and that meant you were free to return to school, name cleared!!!

the volleyball club was eagerly awaiting your return

so when they saw tsukki arrive for practice, they expected you’d be following right along behind him

but instead???

you were koala-ing on his abdomen

“bro... did you carry her all the way here like that??”

“the real question is why he allowed it,”

you shoot a blinding grin at the guys

“he can at least do this much for his girlfriend~!”

the entire gym is like WhA T !!!!!

“hE SAID YES???”

“nope,”

“did he at least tell you he liked you...?”

you let go of tsukki and half the team goes IN on him

“not just suspended, almost expelled!!!”

“GUYS!!” angry!daichi makes an appearance “it’s time for practice!!!”

grumbling, the team disperses

you’re about to head to the store room to help get out the practice equipment, when—

“y/n.”

you turn “hm?”

he’s silent for a moment

“i wouldn’t have kissed you if i didn’t like you.”

your face flushes a deep red

but then he adds, “either time.”

either...? time...?

your eyes POP OUT

“that— that wasn’t a DREAM???”

he doesn’t answer, just heads onto the court

but you think you see a slight smirk

and maybe... just maybe??
