Baby Belos AU: Sometimes taking care of a tiny version of your, eh, of Belos is a lot. At least he knows what compassion is this time

What was Belos like the first time he regressed? How was he feeling? What did he do and say? How long did he stay in that headspace? What was his reaction afterwards?

It was quite a surprise for Hunter and Luz when it worked. They found him cowering in the corner, scared of them both because he thought he was gonna get hurt for being in trouble - he had just broke a vase and it had triggered him. Luz was the first to approach him and nervously shushed the poor Little as he sobbed. She took him by the hand and led him back to his playmat while Hunter cleaned up the pieces. He was like this for 3 hours.

He felt scared at first, but soon felt himself at peace as he settled into the comfy playtime. When he left the headspace, he was confused, conflicted and ashamed (although he secretly yearned for it again).

But of course, I don't think Belos can keep coming up with reasons as to why the toddler hasn't aged in about 10+ years.. must be the genetics

when luz just wants her mom... but shes the worst little girl in the whole world but she's still her mother's girl at heart but she can't be anymore because of all that has happened and so much has happened in so much time without her mom but she still wants her... and how can she navigate that with everything else that needs navigating because it is so hard but luz wants it but she doesn't get why her mom wants it because why for luz? but oh does she want it. she just wants her mom but she doesn't know how </3

YEAH..... luz my poor girl. she spends two seconds on "i'm gonna try to convince myself i don't want my mom" and then is like well that failed. i want my mom so bad and i am going to have an immediate nuclear meltdown about it

i feel like in addition to the obvious lack of self-worth and survivor's guilt and whatnot, luz also has this feeling of like.... she feels like Wanting is evil in itself. wanting makes you do selfish things and impose on other people, wanting hunter has locked both of them into their crazy bullshit and wanting amity feels like a sin and not even for gay-related reasons. wanting her mom?? wanting a guardian?? bad and wrong! clearly proof of being a tyrant!

which is i guess what happens when you're raised by a puritan who firmly subscribes to the "babies crying is the first sign of their sinful nature, don't let them manipulate you" method of child-rearing.

I came up with this meme during the AU disscussion on one of the TOH (Belos) discord servers.

Both stories include kid Philip Wittebane running after their brother into the demon realm, accidently falling into the time pool and appearing in the future. But how different they end up being at the time they meet Luz! Like, that it insane.

I understand that, like "Blight" Pip just simply had more time to undo the religeous indoctrination with the new found family. But he also grew to dislike humans more. Especially after he understood that the life can be so much better than it was in Gravesfield.

At the same time the little precious Pip in Time still has a big journey to go through. Facing his child and adult delusions. To experience the conciquences of his mistakes. And I am glad to be able to read this truly astounding and fantastic comic about this Philip! One of the best! Makes me scream with every new update.

Ever since the "Pip in the multiverse" post (which was HILARIOUS) I love to think of the fan crossovers that could have happen. Because I really like the "WHO THE HECK ARE YOU AND WHY DO YOU LOOK LIKE ME-?!" situations.

In case of this two, I think they would definetly get into a fight cuz their view of the world is almost the direct opposite. (On the server we joked that Pip Blight would say "Hail Satan" just to piss the canon Belos off.) But I dont know how violent it would get honestly, lol.

Was into the Owl House rabbit hole since December of last year but I didnt have enough time to draw anything meaningful.

This is one (!) of the traditional drawings i managed to do during this quadrant. But I still have exams going on so I dont know if I will be able to post anything sooner then week or two later. BUT I WANTED TO SHARE THIS MONSTROCITY SO BAD, CUZ GOD DAMN I AM OBSESSED WITH TOH AUS AND CROSSOVERS-

Belos: I’m going to raise Luz as my daughter and ensure that she remains pure and loyal to me.

Also Belos: I’m going to let the 7-years-old clone of my brother take care of her I’m sure he’ll be able to do that.

you joke but thats LITERALLY his entire thought process at first. he's so isolated and arrogant that he couldnt possibly comprehend the idea that luz wouldnt see him as her father despite the fact he literally told hunter he was going to be her older brother and never once encouraged hunter to see him as anything but an uncle.

i attribute this to the fact that philip is an orphan who only ever knew his blood brother as his only caretaker, so he sorta took having a brother for granted and didn't realize that was something you could want rather than something that just Is.

(also caleb was the only person philip ever truly knew + loved and even well into his 300s he never once picked up a child psychology book and realized that Perhaps His Worldview Was Skewed Because Of That.)

he literally like. could not comprehend the idea that you could even choose your own family outside of like. being adopted by someone. thats the other thing with him being so annoyingly christian in this AU, he was taught that your blood family (esp yr parents) is always the most important thing in your life & you should always be grateful to them no matter what.

(this is another factor into why he keeps making grimwalkers. in his own twisted viewpoint, it's him giving caleb another chance. and another. and another-- at least in this specific characterization of him.)

philip thought that him adopting luz would mean she would immediately be eternally grateful to him and call him father and the whole nine yards. but he forget to actually express that expectation until it was too late (aka until he heard her call him uncle for the first time)

honestly, hes not MAD about it. he's just sorta :( about it bcus hes not actually insane and can still logically think like "she did say she had just lost her real father to an illness its perfectly reasonable for her to not want to replace him" (he doesnt think it outloud but he also enjoys living thru her vicariously

but also later on as she gets older it gets to a point where he's like "ok its been years now why isnt she trying to replace him yet" bcus he thinks its a normal + healthy part of the grieving process to replace the person you lost (figuratively or, in his case, Literally)

Do you think in the baby belos au when their old enough and in a stable enough relationship financially and all that, do you think Hunter and Luz would ever consider the idea to give Belos a baby sibling?

If so how do you think Philip would handle the idea of being a big sibling?

Ooh, yes! I love that idea. - Regressed Belos AND Lunter fankid. A winning combo. And Philip is the best big brother one could ask for, I bet. He's especially responsible and loving when he's not regressed, taking on some responsibilities as well.

Shadow Puppets AU - Curse of the Wendigo

In the Shadow Puppets AU,  the Wendigo is considered both one of the most feared and powerful Demons, but also nothing to worry about since only a human can become one, and even then the conditions to become one are too complicated to be considered a real threat. They are the Boogeymen of the Boiling Isles, a scary story to tell misbehaving children.

The Curse of the Wendigo can begin to grow within a human in the Demon Realm within a year, warning signs of the Curse are increased selfishness, violence and greed, but the Wendigo is only born when a Human consumes the flesh of another

The last survivors of the group that went after Caleb, Philip, 15, and the Witch Hunter General William both had the Curse growing within them which eventually caused them to attack one another while starving in the hash wilderness of the Knee.

Philip probably would have lost the fight because of his lack of combat experience, but he managed to bite off a piece of the general's ear and accidentally swallowed it, which caused him to become a full-fledged Wendigo first and he overpowered the General.

When Philip first transformed, the only souls available for him to feed on were the Palismen he and the Hunters took from Witches they killed along the way. What started as a necessity quickly became Philip’s only way of managing his curse without hurting people but later devolved into something comparable to an addiction and the lengths he’ll go to in order to get his fix as Belos don’t need elaboration, he experiences withdrawal-like symptoms when he doesn’t have Palismen to feed on.

Philip doesn’t know a damn thing about what he’s become, and blames the Demon Realm for corrupting him. The longer he goes without consuming a soul, the less control he has over his cursed form and sometimes blacks out entirely while the Wendigo runs rampant.

He was already under the curse when he finally found Caleb and tried to convince his brother to come home, while Caleb wanted to stay. The emotional toll of finding his brother had left with Evelyn on purpose caused his curse to act up

What actually happened was an accident, when Philip attacked Evelyn, he was actually after her Palismen Flapjack, and Caleb misread the situation as him trying to murder his wife, unaware of Philip’s condition. During the fight, Philip lost control of his curse all together and devoured Caleb’s soul instead- Evelyn chased him off and hunted him for years after, trying to both avenge Caleb and to kill the Wendigo.

He has a strong preference for cold temperatures because Wendigos are Winter spirits, and the Emperor’s Palace is freezing, which results in even harsher conditions for the Coven Members that live there.

Wendigos are eternally starving spirits, no matter how much they consume, that rots and decays until it finds souls to devour; a well fed Wendigo can maintain it's human shape at will, which is how Belos was able to hide his condition for so long.

Between passing himself off as a witch and feeding on Palismen rather than witches and demons, no one noticed anything was wrong until his supply of Palismen started to dry up.

For the record, because they exclusively originate as Human, and the conditions for becoming one are so specific and rare, the Archivists would not have one archived, but would probably have been looking for one based on the legends and rumors to Catalogue it. However, turning it into a Scroll would not act as a curse the way the Owl Beast did- the Collected Wendigo would simply be freed and consume the intended victim
