In total, only 69 ZL1s were produced and are extremely coveted today. This puts the ZL1 Camaro at the top of the list for most expensive Camaros and among the most expensive muscle cars on the market, hashing a torrent of power wrapped in a shell of iconic design, the late ‘60’s Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS stands as a monumental figure in the pantheon of American vehicles. Introduced during the zenith of the muscle car era, this model was a declaration of Chevrolet’s engineering prowess and bold aesthetic. With its rumbling V8 and striking contours, the late ‘60’s Camaro RS/SS captivated an entire generation.

This is odd because the Corvette is (was) a more rare vehicle...far fewer of them were produced. And the Corvette has several considerably more sophisticated components than the Camaro. Corvette’s were generally more expensive to maintain and had more hiccups than the Camaro ZL1. Corvette had many panels that can't rust on a Corvette that can rust on a Camaro. Another factor is that Corvette’s price with super car credentials was much more and wasn’t for every average Joe.
