Yeah okay so I need to make this post because I haven't seen anyone talk about this. People probably have but I literally cannot find anything. Also forgive me for this coming across as unorganized word vomit. It's late and I'm mad, I'm having trouble with my thoughts right now.

TW for general ableism, the occasional f bomb, and the mention of autism speaks. Also a slight spoiler warning for anyone who hasn't seen season 7 of The Flash but at this point I feel like most have.

So I just finally convinced myself to start watching season 7 of the Flash and I have some thoughts. Specifically episode 2. Where the artificial speed force makes Barry able to "speed think". So at first when I read the description I laughed and made a joke about it comparing it to my autism. To my horror I didn't expect it to be so accurate when I pressed play to the episode. The artificial speed force made him a lot smarter and a faster thinker. I made a comment about it being like the savant autism stereotype. But it was just that. A comment.

As the episode went on Barry started speaking without inflections or emotion (and Grant is pretty notably expressive I've noticed so that was odd to me). Then the rest of the team started getting after him for making decisions without using his emotions and the fact that he was sorta being heartless about the situation with Eva. The majority of the people in the team got hurt by Barry's lack of emotion and it even went as far as to paint him somewhat like a villain. Granted it all stopped the second he forcibly pulled Iris out of the mirror dimension and saw how hurt she was, but all I saw in that episode is the stereotypes that people think of me and the rest of the autistic community. That we're all savants and that we don't care about other people's feelings, let alone have any ourselves. So naturally in my hurt state I took to the internet to try and see if anyone had said something about it.

To find nothing.

Now am I overreacting? Probably. But it fucking hurt to watch this episode. It was painful and I had to keep pausing it because all I could think of was the bullshit that people like Autism Speaks say about us. And it was 10x worse because I already headcanoned Barry as autistic and adhd (like myself) way before this episode. Whether it was blatant intentional ableism or accidental, it fucking hurt and it was a low blow. The Flash has been a comfort show for me for a long time and to see something like that just... Hurt.

was rewatching the pilot again yesterday for fic reasons and thinking again about the sherlock-style screen annotations they had when barry was doing CSI work that they literally only did in the first ep and then never revisited again, presumably because they realized it'd be far too much effort to work out the details on such a precise level

and thinking about like. that barry allen with the hyper-precise exact measurements that he did by eye (with joe shaking his head in awe so you know that he's a CSI supergenius) vs. the leonard snart who timed his heists to the exact nanosecond (which again, presuming they ditched because it's a logistical nightmare to write dialogue that nitpicky and obsessive, and would be such a fucking pain to do on a week-to-week basis). like. yet another reason they are soulmates tbh. is audhd4autistic a thing the same way t4t is a thing? if it isn't then i'm making it a thing

Panic at the Circus: Jason Todd x Autistic Reader

Where I'm at: 1 paragraph.

Summary: Jason and his partner go to a carnival for a nice date, away from Hero work. Jason gets a call and leaves for a bit to answer it. Reader has a meltdown due to being overstimulated. Jason helps calm reader down and shames the crowd that formed around Reader.

Where I'm at: 1/2 paragraph.

Summary: While the Courier is helping around Goodsprings, he meets Major Knight at the Mojave Outpost. They talk here and there, Courier starts to flirt. Major Knight uses the Comfrimed bachelor dialogue, to tell the Courier its not safe for him to be out and proud at the Outpost. While talking and having a couple of beers, they plan on having a date. During Kinght's leave to New Vegas.

Honestly i really support vigilante justice. Because that way the victims actually get justice. They do a much much better job of catching the perpetrators and giving them a punishment that fits the crime way better than the police or the so called “justice system”

I wish vigilantes were a lot more common like in the dcu. :/

Honestly I think it’s so funny that in the Marvel universe, when someone’s really smart, they have like eight to twelve doctorates and they finished high school at age twelve.

And then over in the DC universe it’s like. This is Tim Drake. He’s a genius. He keeps cloning his loved ones. He dropped out of highschool. Over there is Barry Allen. He can reverse engineer a spaceship in less than a minute. He is such a good chemist he’s still going to be known as the best chemist in 4,000 years. He has a bachelor’s degree.
