On a good day, Yelena would’ve been able to listen to her girlfriend’s ramblings for nearly hours on end without tiring. On a great day, she would’ve joined in and made the conversation two sided, providing her own points, arguments, and contributions.

Today was not a great day. It was not a good day. It wasn’t even mid.

On bad days, Kate’s constant talking could either be soothing or turn Yelena murderous.

Today seems to be murderous.

“Kate,” the blonde growls in warning for what is surely the millionth time, her molars grinding together and sending sparks of irritation up through her skull. Her eyes feel too hot, though she doesn’t think she’s in any danger of crying, and the need to break something is vibrating in her fingertips.

The archer’s voice cuts off for a blessed moment, her wide doe eyes bright and innocent. She seems to scan over Yelena for a moment, taking in her girlfriend’s gritted teeth and clenched fists, before she comes to some unspoken conclusion.

Her lips part again to say something, and it takes every ounce of will to keep Yelena from screaming.

She settles for slapping her hand over Kate’s mouth instead. The archer lets out a muffled squeaked, her face startled, but she doesn’t jerk away. Internally Yelena sighs in relief that she hadn’t accidentally hurt her. She was high strung and exhausted and much less in-control than she would’ve liked.

Her hand stays pressed firmly over Kate’s mouth for several long moments. At one point, the brunette’s eyes hold a mischievous glimmer, and Yelena is convinced she’s going to have to kick Kate out for licking her hand, but instead she brings a hand up to the one covering her mouth and carefully threads her fingers with Yelena’s.

The assassin allows for her hand to be pulled away and pressed instead to the softness of Kate’s cheek. Something in her chest loosens. The buzzing dies down a bit.

“Feeling a little overstimulated, baby?” Kate says gently, her voice finally a soft tenor that was a balm on Yelena’s burning ears.

For a moment, the part of Yelena that always seemed to want to be angry debates ripping her hand away and storming off, but she managers to keep herself still and instead give a weak nod. Her bottom lip is trembling before she can stop it, and she’s suddenly crying- hot, thick tears staining her cheeks as her overheated mind whirls nonsensically.

Kate coos oh-so-softly, her movements slow and intentionally predictable as she gathers Yelena into her arms. The assassin melts into her, clinging to Kate’s shirt and tucking her head into long waves of dark hair, where the smell of cinnamon and leather is strongest.

No words are traded beyond Kate’s soothing noises, and for that Yelena is grateful.

And the character is a younger sister who despite having her whole self mentally destroyed and violated is extremely excited about a VEST with POCKETS like “LOOK HOW MANY POCKETS THIS HAS NAT ISN’T IT THE COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD”.

And the character is someone who doesn’t get social cues easily and talks very bluntly and broke into a girls house and offered her her own Mac and Cheese from her own cupboard that said someone made after breaking into said girls house and also put hot sauce on it which sounds absolutely atrocious but actually probably makes it way better.

And the character is someone who stims and despite being in a dire situation stops to draw something on the window of the ship her and her sister are using and looks so awkward when her father figure wraps and arm around her which is a contrast to her sisters reaction which while also not liking it is more of a wtf reaction than an awkward one.

Kate who loves to feel feminine and pretty and desired in the way society wants women to be, but puts on suits and ties her hair up and goes to the gym and feels something different

Kate who finds herself looking in the mirror a bit longer than usual- not hating or disliking, because she knows she looks good, she’s worked hard to be healthy and love her body, but she’s noticing

Kate who gets bored and reads whatever book anyone can get to her when she’s stuck in the hospital and it’s about a trans boy and she absolutely loves it and can’t stop thinking about the way the author wrote the character

Kate who stares curiously at the sports bras, eyes searching for compression tops, looking for something that flattens instead of accentuating

Kate who wants to wear swim trunks and boxers and cologne and not shave her legs or under her arms and darken her eyebrows with makeup and contour her jawline to look more masculine and go to voice lessons to know how to deepen her voice

Kate who starts looking into binders without really thinking much of it until Yelena asks about it one day after looking over her shoulder at the computer, and Kate panics and immediately prepares herself to be berated or criticized but Yelena just looks at her softly and offers to help her measure to get the right size for her

Kate who puts a binder on for the first time and just stares at herself in the mirror in awe for half an hour, turning and twisting her body and flexing and folding her arms over her chest and trying on different shirts and taking pictures to send to Yelena

Kate who starts researching more about the trans community and the different labels, Yelena who sits with her when Kate is up late wanting to know more

Kate who tries transtape for the first time and nearly cries because she doesn’t hate her body but this is something completely different and the feeling of walking around shirtless is euphoric

Kate who wakes up one day and gets called “she” and kind of just furrows her eyebrows a little and shakes her head in confusion because why did that hit at her heart a little?

Kate who puts on a tux with her binder but frowns and stresses over it before changing into a dress and feeling better but also so confused because she thought she wanted to look more masculine

Kate who goes back and forth between feminine and masculine and starting to discover more about androgyny and dabbling in all of them

Kate who looks into top surgery and is doing as much research as she can with Yelena at her side and Melina and Tony and Bruce all offering whatever advice they can

Kate who heals beautifully from her surgery and gets super sexy tattoos on her incision scars and cries the first time she steps fully outside into the sunlight without a shirt on or a sports bra that makes her head hurt

Kate who feels strangely panicked one day when getting ready because her body looks too masculine and why does she feel this way and why isn’t she happy but Yelena is there and helps her pick out a blouse and does her makeup while Kate breathes and relaxes and feels better

Kate who learns more and more about different labels and identities and goes to pride events and meets so many wonderful people and learns about gender fluidity and the trans community and the beauty of pronouns

Kate who sometimes wants to pack, who sometimes wants to wear push up bras or padded bras to have a chest again, who sometimes is tempted to buzz her head and do her makeup to give her facial hair

Kate who has completely stopped shaving her arms and legs altogether because it makes her feel good

Kate who cuts her hair into a shorter, choppier look that Yelena and Natasha help her figure out how to style into different vibes depending on how she’s feeling

Kate who is genderqueer and so happy in a body that she has more control over, and in her voice that she knows how to lower or heighten, and in her stance and posture that she knows how to change to appear powerful and intimidating or submissive and coy, and in her hair the she can fluff up or pin or slick back and pull into a tiny bun to change how she’s perceived

Yelena who gradually starts to stim as her life becomes calm and safe and happy, bouncing her legs and tapping her hands and rubbing her cheeks and holding her face and tousling or chewing her hair and making small noises with her mouth that calm her down

Yelena who realizes all of her social skills were implemented into her by the red room and she doesn’t actually know what she’s doing when it’s not a hostile situation and she doesn’t need to interrogate the people in front of her

Yelena who hates baths because the water is too still and feels stagnant on her skin like a thick coat

Yelena who sleeps with a weighted blanket whenever Kate or the dogs aren’t there to lay on her at night

Yelena who gets stressed and upset when the schedule for the day is suddenly interrupted or changed

Yelena who mutters to herself softly when she’s anxious about what’s making her anxious in order to cam herself down, who looks around lazily and purses her looks hoping that she doesn’t appear panicked

Yelena who hates the feeling of her hair in her face or on her neck when she’s hot or sweaty and she can’t stop touching her hair after she cuts it, it feels so soft and it’s so comforting

Yelena who sometimes needs to not be touched or else she might scream and implode and sometimes needs to be held so tightly that her ribs are threatening to break because her body is trying to spill out of itself

Yelena who knows how to mask perfectly but doesn’t have to anymore and won’t be judged or threatened or beaten for getting overstimulated or upset

Okay so... I've been working on SO MANY stories for a while now (plot bunnies drag me around from one to the next, through new stories, while I still work slowly on my current Ao3 fics), but decided to post a little here about everything (story wise) that's been going on with the fics being mainly worked on!

Plot Bunnies Currently Making Me Their Bitch: 

MCU - No Title yet, but is going to be an absolute TITAN of a story and series spanning from around 2007 pre-Iron Man 1 to Secret Invasion, with a lot of changes and a lot of additions (including Timeline event changes, Infinity War being an actual 3 to 4 month long war instead of 24hrs, PIETRO SURVIVES without Clint and the kid dying, Ultron is gonna be a far more badass boss fight with a moment of Avengers going "...Why do I hear boss music?", a handful of characters are going to be added to spice things up) and so much more! OC is gonna be Nat's kid via Red Room science (made in a lab) which will go over more in the fic (also other DNA is Yelena's, however there will be ZERO Nat x Yelena here. it will be Platonic "this is my child so i will cut a bitch if anyone hurts them" sort of parental situation. Yelena tends to be Aro/Ace in my fics being written, majority of the time, though there is an idea for an Ace!Yelena and Kate fic i have in mind, but that's for another story) - (OC -intersex afab- x Wanda Maximoff, and a lot of background pairings) - Inspired by "Smells Like Teen Spirit" version by Malia J, "Set It All Free" sang by Scarlett Johansson, and "Can't Help Falling in Love" version by Haley Reinhart 

MCU - No Title Yet, a possible series of oneshots jumping around of Venom!NonBinary!Reader, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop platonic besties spreading some chaos and even possibly accidentally helping couples get together - (Background Wanda x Natasha, Pietro x Steve, Sam x Bucky, Tony x Pepper, Carol x Maria Rambeau, Peter Parker x MJ, Maria Hill x Sif, Thor x Jane) - Inspired by "Oath" by Cher Lloyd ft Becky G, "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga, and "Raise Your Glass" by P!nk 

MCU - Waking Wanda - a Dark started story intro that leads to OC being reborn as Wanda Maximoff (though doesn't get flashes of memories until a young child of around 5ish and it's only enough to sort of let me give a reason for character changes Wanda will have, also no "MCU knowledge"). Story will toe the line with Dark status every so often (Wanda has very little problem being an Antihero right off the bat when around Teenage and that carries on as she ages, and has no problem literally killing to protect, more so when it comes to protecting Pietro). Sort of a test story for Darker writings, but ultimately will have a happy ending because i'm a sucker for happy endings. Technically the OC is just a placebo spark for me to change Wanda up a little for a story idea, and the OC stuff itself means very little beyond those "sparks" to induce change which will butterfly effect over time. (Wanda Maximoff x Natasha Romanoff, with background Pietro x Sam, Steve x Bucky, etc, etc) - Story was inspired by "Vicious" by Halestorm, and "Sweet but Psycho" by Ava Max 

MCU - No Title Yet, and a smaller fic (and closer to the MCU timeline of stuff, though still plenty of changes and yes, Pietro lives along with Clint and the kid here, too). Will also toe the line with Darker stuff like Waking Wanda will (i'm very fond of writing antiheroes lately...), and OC will have Animal Shapeshifting powers. OC is also a brother to Wanda and Pietro via triplets instead of twins. - (TransMale!OC x Natasha Romanoff, with background Wanda x Darcy and Pietro x Monica) - Story was inspired by "Insane" by Black Gryph0n and Baasik, and "Wrong Side of Heaven" by Five Finger Death Punch 

MCU - No Title Yet, this story will be a fic that doesn't heavily dip into fighting battles at first like the other stories, and instead will be set where Reader will end up in the MCU and steps in where possible (healing ability and also has wings, though you can hide them into a scar on your back) to try to encourage change to bring a bit less pain and suffering to our Avengers. Wanda and Natasha end up dating Reader (triad poly) during Civil War era (bigger changes here, and yes, Reader saves Pietro, there is deff a pattern here for me, i think) after Reader sort of gets pulled in via sticking around after Lagos to heal any wounded (Wanda yeets Rumlow a little more viciously so it clears it just enough to only cause a little bit of roof damage) - Wanda x Natasha x Female Reader - Inspired by "If Today Was Your Last Day" by Nickelback, and "Soldier" by Gavin DeGraw 

MCU - No Title Yet, possibly a small series of oneshots about Wanda and Reader being a Soft!Couple, but also has Wanda and Vision being besties, and Reader and Natasha being besties. Literally just a "feel good" series - Wanda x Female Reader (Reader and Nat being Platonic besties, while Wanda and Vision being Platonic besties) - Inspired by "You and Me" by Plain White T's, and "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves

MCU - No Title Yet, set after Endgame. Natasha comes back via Steve's stone exchange, but she's not really healed from it. Scars, recovering from broken bones, and honestly feels lost. While Clint is dealing with Kate stuff (Yelena goes to help him at Natasha's request, and because she's become fond of him like an older brother as well), Natasha meets Southern!Reader who is a friend of Laura's, visiting from Texas (was also a Marine). Reader and Natasha are a bit awkward at first (Natasha because she's still recovering and unsteady from retiring, thus not really sure what she wants to do now, and Reader due to just being a shy awkward person who still doesn't really understand how people "people"). The two end up helping each other. Natasha helping Reader with moments of night terrors spawned from PTSD of war/battles against other humans and other skirmishes with Thanos' army during the blip era. Reader helps Natasha stop pushing herself so hard during her recovery (physical and mental), and start to stop and just breathe, along with the fear of a truly unknown future. - Natasha x Autistic!Female Reader - Inspired by "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" sang by Scarlet Johansson, "Rise Up" by Andra Day, "Shatter Me" by Lindsey Stirling ft Lzzy Hale, and "All I Know So Far" by P!nk 

MCU - No Title Yet. IM SO WEAK for Vera Farminga that it's unreal (dare i say Wanda Maximoff levels)?! That held my existence hostage and spawned this one here, of Eleanor Bishop x Reader. Reader is gonna be Wanda and Pietro's slightly older sibling (Marvel can pry Pietro's survival from my cold, dead hands) and has powers much like Magneto of the X-Men movies, but also cannot be harmed by metal objects, and has a resistance (read: resistance, not immunity) to more extreme cold and hot temperatures, as well as the abilities extending to Vibranium.

Conjuring Universe - No Title Yet. read above about weakness, RIP. Anyway, Reader will be Ed's sister who portrays a masculine build/clothing (and yes, binder! inc history research of binders and what was common and uncommon in that time era). Will happen around the main 3 Conjuring movies, as well as dabbling in The Nun 2 post credits scene (and extended), and the Curse of La Llorona getting a lil bit of a rewrite.

“Are you doin’ okay, babydoll?”

Yelena jolts softly in surprise when she hears her girlfriend’s soft voice so close, her head snapping up to show wide, glassy eyes. Kate immediately frowns, stepping a little closer into Yelena’s space to see how she’ll react. The blonde doesn’t step away, so Kate coos gently, letting her hand hover over her shoulder.

”Can I touch you, honey?”

Yelena nods after a moment, her bottom lip trembling slightly. Kate rests her hand on the junction of her neck and shoulder, squeezing in the way she knew helped ground her.

Her Widow shudders softly, leaning into Kate’s steadying presence with a soft whine. Kate is quick to wrap her arms around Yelena’s shoulders and hug her close, rocking them softly as she makes gentle noises into her hair. “I got you, baby. I’m here.”

The low hum of everyone bustling around at Steve’s 107th (108th? 109th?) birthday party was a dull roar in Yelena’s burning ears, and she let out a small sigh as Kate Bishop’s gentle hands pressed over them, blocking the sound out for her. She kept her hands tucked between their chests, crossed over her sternum with her fingers gently hooked into her collarbones underneath her shirt.

Yelena had been doing fine until just a few minutes ago, she swears- but the day had already been long, and the amount of people in one space, no matter how open it was, combined with the constant low hum of voices and dishes clinking and the electrical wiring of the ceiling lights, had become too much. The moment Kate had removed her protective arm from around Yelena’s waist in order to greet Wanda and Pietro, Yelena had felt herself slipping, and now her mouth was dry and fused shut as uncomfortable heat pressed into the back of her eyes.

“There's a lot happening in here, huh,” Kate coos, her lips pressed to Yelena’s cheek and her words just barely audible through her own fingers over her girlfriend’s ears.

The assassin dips her chin in a small nod, suddenly lurching forward to press her face into Kate’s neck with a low, distressed hum when Tony lets out a particularly sharp laugh, Thor’s bellowing voice joining in. Kate quickly but gently maneuvers her girlfriend through the gathering of their family and friends, one hand cupping the back of the blonde’s neck to keep her face tucked under her jaw while the other presses to her lower back.

When they finally reach the quiet safety of the kitchen, Kate shifts to carefully grab the back of Yelena’s thighs and hoist her up onto the cool marble counter. The assassin lets out a soft squeak and immediately clings to her archer, legs wrapped tightly around her waist and arms securely caccooning her head.

Kate hums and coos tenderly, hands going back to run through Yelena’s slicked back hair. The blonde lets out a pleased sound as her girlfriend slowly scratches away the stiffness of the gel holding the blonde strands back, her scalp stinging pleasantly.

“That a little better, babydoll?” the brunette murmurs, her cheek pressed to Yelena’s temple as the assassin nods against her neck. Her little nose brushes over Kate’s pulse and she inhales softly, relaxing further into the comforting scent of leathery cinnamon and wood polish.

The pair is silent for a few gentle minutes, Kate’s nimble fingers continuing their movements of carding slowly through Yelena’s choppy hair. The blonde takes the middle knuckle of her girlfriend’s pointer finger into her mouth at one point, and her teeth make small indents as she gnaws carefully.

The archer hums and nuzzles under Yelena’s ear, breathing in her steady scent, sighing contently as vanilla cologne and honeycomb shampoo mix together to flood her synapses. “I got you, babydoll,” she murmurs, keeping her hand propped up for Yelena to softly chew on as much as she needs.

Yelena hums gratefully and keeps the knuckle in her mouth as she nestles back into Kate’s neck, the contrast of her warm cheek on the archer’s cool shoulder a balm.

They stay that way for several minutes, Hawkeye and Black Widow tangled up together as they loved, until Yelena felt ready to return to the party. Kate kept their hands tangled together the rest of the night.

Yelena taking care of her autistic gf who has gone into sensory overload because of Natasha yelling at her because she accidentally ate the last jar of peanut butter?

Tough Day

Pairing: Yelena Belova x Autistic! Reader 

Summary: Natasha takes her bad day out on you over something small, but Yelena is there to comfort and remind you things are okay.

Angst, Comfort, Fluff.

The room was dark, curtains closed, lights off and you were sat on the floor in your most comfortable clothing trying your best to take deep breaths. You never knew Natasha would get so mad over something so small. After using the last bit of peanut butter for your sandwich, Natasha grunted and took her frustrations out on you. How were you supposed to know it was the last jar? How were you supposed to know that Natasha didn't have a backup jar? She always did.

"Seriously?! The one thing I wanted today, and you had to use the last of it?!" Her words replayed over and over in your head. The raise in her voice sent you into sensory overload, she didn't notice, she just kept dropping comments about her frustrations even stating how you rarely ever go grocery shopping and just expect everybody else to get the things you need. You apologized for your mistake and explained that you didn't realize that it was the last of the peanut butter to which she replied, "of course you didn't you just live in your own little world!" 

Yelena knocked on the bedroom room lightly, careful not to startle you. She'd been worried about you after Natasha stormed back into the gym mumbling something about peanut butter, her gut feeling told her to check on you. 

"Detka? It's me, can I come in?" she asked. You nodded; she could barely see your nod in the darkness, but it didn't take long for her to notice the state you were in. She closed the door as quietly as she could behind her and walked over to sit down beside you. She didn't touch you, she didn't speak in her normal 'inside' voice, instead she whispered. 

"Do you want some ice?" She asked in a whisper, knowing that sometimes in these moments you like to suck on some ice cubes to help remind you of the here and now. You nodded once again while continuing to keep your focus on your breathing. Yelena was gone for a few short minutes before she returned with a bottle of water and a small bowl of ice cubes. She placed them beside you and sat down on the armchair on the other side of the room and waited until you were able to talk to her.

The coldness of the ice on your tongue and the roof of your mouth helped bring some relief to the hotness you felt rushing through your body. You closed your eyes and counted to ten then back down over and over until you felt like you could get up from the floor. Yelena waited patiently, holding your favorite stuffie until she knew you would want it to cuddle with. 

"Sh-she yelled at me" you spoke ever so softly as you slowly got up from the floor and looked at your girlfriend. "Over peanut butter" you added. Yelena saw the confusing yet sadness in your eyes, you couldn't quite understand why Natasha snapped and took her bad day out on you over the empty jar. 

"I'm going to talk to her detka, she overstepped, and I won't let her do that again" Yelena replied as she stood from the armchair to hand you the stuffie. "What do you need right now? Forget about Natasha and the stupid peanut butter, I'll buy her a new jar, okay?" she added. 

"I just wanna get into bed and watch movies" you replied.

"Do you want your weight blanket?" Yelena asked, she always worried about you whenever you went into sensory overload, in fact she worried about you a lot more than she led on. Always made sure you had everything you needed before she would go off on missions, she had Kate keep an eye on you and if you needed anything Kate would be there for you. Yelena tried not to go on the super long missions, sometimes she couldn't avoid it but she always checked in with you when she could. 

"Yes please" you said as you got into the shared bed, grabbing the television remote from your bedside table. Yelena grabbed your weighted blanket from the wardrobe and placed it comfortably over you. "Thank you, Lena" you smiled softly at her, your tired eyes telling her just how exhausted you were. 

"Get some rest detka, I'll go cook your favourite for dinner and bring it up to you when it's dinner time" Yelena replied before placing a soft kiss on your forehead. "Wait" you gently grabbed her arm, "can you stay? Please" you asked, looking up at her. 

Yelena nodded, "of course dorogoy"

You snuggled up to Yelena the moment she got into bed beside you, her arm wrapped around you while you flicked through Netflix to find an easy and comforting movie to watch. Once you found one of your favorite comfort movies, you snuggled more into Yelena, whispering a soft 'thank you' for being there for you. She placed a gentle kiss on the top of your head and held you a little extra tight while you fell asleep in her arms.
