And I think it’s beautiful
Seriously tho as a Polish person I can’t get over the fact that there are no swear words in English half as strong as in my language, this is somehow the closest thing to that
Occasionally as an Australian you'll be talking to someone from overseas, and you'll discover a common phrase you took for granted is, in fact, not universally known outside of our country.
Turns out casually dropping "fuck me dead" into conversation will give unsuspecting Americans an aneurism.
The more you know.

The Australia government is currently asking people to complete this survey in favour of Medicare paying for gender affirming surgeries. The survey is open until the 14th of Feb 2025. And I wanted to ask if you’d share the link
https://www.msac.gov.au/applications/1754
This is a link of suggested things to focus on in your survey responses https://auspath.org.au/2025/01/21/msac-1754-survey-guide/
Thank you if you do choose to share it!
yooo hey thanks for this, this is fucking awesome!!!!
https://www.msac.gov.au/applications/1754
if possible, do what you can to spread the word about this even if you aren't Australian! i hope we can make a change for people to get affordable gender affirming care, that would be amazing!

On Thursday, Timothy Malcolm Rowland, a 40-year-old man, was acquitted of raping a woman in Sydney after claiming to have experienced an episode of sexsomnia.
In this medical condition, people engage in sexual behaviour while asleep. The incident occurred in August 2022, following a night out drinking with the woman.
Rowland admitted to having sexsomnia, and the defence argued that he was unconscious during the alleged assault. The trial revolved around whether Rowland was asleep during the incident or awake and fully aware of his actions.
The jury was tasked with determining if the woman had given consent, as it was undisputed that she was asleep when the rape occurred. The judge, John Pickering, reminded the jury that under current law, people cannot be held criminally responsible for actions they commit while unconscious.
There is no legal framework explicitly addressing sexsomnia, and the judge stated it was not their role to create new laws. Ultimately, Rowland was acquitted due to the inability to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he was conscious during the act.
This case highlights troubling issues where a man’s medical condition, in this case, sexsomnia, is prioritized over the victim’s trauma of waking up to an assault. It shows how women’s autonomy and consent can be dismissed, even when they are violated. The legal system often favours the accused’s defence over the victim’s experience, making it harder for women to be heard or protected.

Just adding that you don’t have to be trans to submit a response on this! They are looking for any and all opinions. There’s an option to select that you’re not seeking gender affirming care but you have a personal interest in the issue (like if you have trans loved ones or even if you just…. care) so if you wish to lend your support on this, please do!

for those who are not aware, the new crisafulli government in queensland, australia are in the process of banning trans healthcare for youth under 18. david crisafulli is also a man who has consistently voted against abortion rights, cutting funds for public servants, and is prioritising charging children over the age of ten with adult sentences.
if you reside in queensland, there is an e-petition that has just opened you can sign and will go directly to the queensland parliament. this shuts on the 6th july (06/07/2025). as of right now, it is the second most signed petition currently open.
if you live in australia, but either don't live in queensland or just want to make sure your voice is heard, there is a separate petition by trans.au, which has been going since the ban was put in place. there are also protests being organised, with major ones happening in all states and territories on the 8th february (08/02/2025). you find one near you here.
and finally, when the federal election comes around later this year, make sure to put greens first and labour second. having peter dutton as a prime minister will only further eradicate not only trans people, but anyone who does not fall under the upperclass straight white cisgender male umbrella.
while it is unlikely the greens will get in, it'll keep the lnp out and make sure the labour party are aware that they need to change in order to stay in parliament.

It’s fairly common in Australia! We all learn cursive and use only pencils up until about grade 4 (10 yrs old) where a lot of schools start handing out pen licenses based off your handwriting. At my school it was mostly for fun, everyone got one by the end of the year and the following two years of primary school we could use either pencils or pens.
clicking a pen over and over again is actually fun as fuck its a shame it makes everyone in a 30 foot radius want to kill me with a rock
