"Never let them hold you to a stereotype," Nico said, shaking his head. "I had to overhaul hard on the Hades cabin because apparently they think we're vampires or something."

A little smile pulled at Harley’s lips. He stretched his leg out in front of him, twisting the cap of his water bottle back and forth. "Well, I'll try. But I'm not sure I can dispute the vampire thing."

Nico glanced at him. "Are you kidding?"

Harley shrugged. "My "mortal" parent is a ghost, and was already dead before I was born. Steve keeps calling me "The De-extinction Event", and my aunt implied once that I'm some sort of a catalyst for Jim's mission for magic."

"Which aunt?" Will asked, only half paying attention.

"Ridea, time goddess." Harley waved his hand dismissively. He looked at Nico. "Anyway, I'm not as halloween-ey as you--"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"But Sarah lovingly called me a cryptid once, and Douxie says I'm about as non-human as a demigod can get."

"And... that makes you a vampire?" Kayla asked.

"It makes him something," Austin said.

"Leaving out the whole ghost parent thing," Will said. "You are kind of reversing a global extinction event. That's simultaneously really cool and also really concerning for the future of the planet."

Harley grinned. "Just you wait until I get started on the sauropods."

"Have they shown you Jurassic Park yet?" Kayla asked.

"Yeah."

"Cool, just making sure."

I dunno just something something Nico taking Harley under his wing and so sometimes Harley will hang out with him and the Apollo cabin during Trollhunter Week at CHB. I imagine at least one of these times they discussed how weird Harley’s origins are.
